Episode # 11258 ~ Nikki makes things worse between Victor and Nick; Ashley uncovers surprising information; Jack and Victoria agree to play nice.

Sharon: Well, this is a surprise.

[ Sighs ]

Sharon: I haven't seen you since you moved off the ranch. What's up?

Nikki: Well, um, nicholas asked me if I could take faith to her riding lesson, which i did, but now something has come up I have to take care of. So I can't wait. I was hoping that you could pick her up at the stables and bring her here?

Sharon: Yeah, I'd be happy to. As long as nick's okay with it. It is his day with faith.

Nikki: No, I know. But I'm sure that he will be fine with this. Now, I really have to go.

Sharon: Is something wrong?

Nikki: Most definitely. It never ends, sharon.

Sharon: Victor?

Nikki: Who else? But he's not gonna get away with it this time.

Nick: You think I would let my pride get in the way of what's best for my son?

Noah: Dad, maybe we shouldn't get into this right --

Nick: You have me mistaken for someone else. If you want to see that guy, there's a mirror in the men's room.

Victor: I'm here to help my grandson.

Noah: And you have, grandpa. Without the liquor license, we'd be screwed. Now we can open up the new club in ann arbor and move forward with our plans.

Victor: Glad to hear that. Just remember, without this liquor license, your investment would have been for naught. You still have a lot to learn, son.

Billy: That is what you call a crummy day.

Victoria: Michael said there is no action that I can take legally. Reed thinks that I am a mean mom. I had no idea when I left here what a minefield I'd be walking into.

Billy: And all of this because of cane? That guy is --

Victoria: Oh, please, I don't want to talk about that guy anymore.

Billy: All right. Well, then, let me regale you with my "delightful" day.

Victoria: All right. What happened?

Billy: I danced around a minefield of my own while you were out, with phyllis. She casually mentioned that jack thinks that you planted a spy upstairs to get intel on jabot.

Victoria: Casual my eye. Does phyllis suspect that you used her computer to access the server?

Phyllis: Okay, so, this is what we're dealing with. A handful of people knew jack's plan, and yet billy and victoria figured out exactly what he was contemplating, which was to get brash & sassy products off the fenmore's shelves and somehow replace it with parker beauty.

Ravi: [ Sighs ] Yeah, when they both came up here and confronted ashley, it definitely seemed like an inspired guess.

Phyllis: No, they had to have known. Okay, how else does someone jump from "jack's out to get me" to that kind of detail? So either we have a mole planted right here, or somebody said something that they shouldn't have, and a rumor started.

Ravi: Yeah. Both plausible scenarios.

Phyllis: Yeah, I know. But that was not just to get us to back off. Brash & sassy implemented a counterattack. They somehow post a huge spike in sales at fenmore's, and only there.

Ravi: I got a feeling you are not gonna let this lie, are you?

Phyllis: You're damn right. I need to know how they got their hands on that private information. And you're just the man to help me to do it.

Jack: If you ever want to step away from the family business, you could make quite a living as a private investigator.

Ashley: You think?

Jack: You managed to get graham's H.R. File from mergeron. You know what's every bit as intriguing as it is disturbing? How many times he applied for a job at mergeron and failed. Boy, talk about determination.

Ashley: You don't even know the half of it.

Jack: Oh?

Ashley: Yeah. Just ask me, jack. Ask me how graham managed to get a position in the executive suite.

Jack: I'm asking.

Ashley: Apparently he met mother at a social event, and impressed her so much that within a week, she'd hired him despite his lack of qualifications. I'd call that quite a coincidence, wouldn't you?

Jack: Yeah, seems a lot like stalking.

Ashley: Yes.

Jack: Mixed with emotional manipulation.

Ashley: I think that he targeted her from the very first day.

Jack: But why her? Why not any other wealthy woman he could attach himself to? Why mother?

Ashley: Well, that's what we need to find out.

Jack: Well, I'm with you. I want to know graham's motives for seeking our mother out. I find his behavior toward her disturbing.

Ashley: You know he's gonna deny everything.

Jack: Of course he is. He's gonna say that she filled a huge void in his life, never mind the job, or the estate he would inherit. All the while, he's counting the days until he inherits her millions.

Ashley: I wish we knew more about his background.

Jack: Well, mother enlightened me a bit on those subjects.

Ashley: What'd she say?

Jack: Apparently our friend graham had quite a tough life.

Ashley: Well, I knew that. Cue the violins.

Jack: Did you also know that his father left him and his mother at a very young age, penniless? That at one point they were on the streets?

Ashley: Well, he conveniently left that part out of our conversation.

Jack: Okay, so, obviously you know both his parents are dead. So he was alone in the world when he found dina, and found a new family.

Ashley: He zeroed in on her for some unknown reason.

Jack: Look, mother was very emotional about this. She thought we were being unfair to graham. She asked that we be more supportive, less judgmental about a man who's only been affectionate toward her.

Ashley: God, she is going to be so disappointed.

[ Knock on door ]

Jack: Come in! Mother! What a nice surprise. I was starting to worry that you might not come back.

Dina: Well, I wasn't so sure that I'd even be welcome. You both were so incensed when i showed my report to graham.

Jack: Well, hopefully, with a little reflection, you can understand our concerns. We work in a very competitive environment. We can't be too careful with confidential material.

Ashley: And I'm sure you ran mergeron very much the same way, mother.

Jack: Mother, I know you're taking a lot of this personally. I'm asking you to look at it as a businesswoman. As C.E.O. Of this company, i have to look at anyone outside of jabot as a potential enemy.

Ashley: It's the only smart thing to do.

Jack: The last time we spoke, I told you if you wanted to work here, you were gonna have to do it without any involvement on graham's part. I never really got an answer from you, so I don't know where you stand. I'm asking you again. Can you live with my terms?

Victor: When you find your next club, just make sure you grandfather in this kind of liquor license during the sale, okay? That way you avoid the problems you had now.

Nick: Yes. Of course. If that is an option. This time, it wasn'T.

Noah: Dad knows what he's doing, grandpa.

Victor: Drinking establishments are not the same as coffeehouses. And guys who sit on these boards in other states prefer people who have a track record.

Nick: The underground has been successful for years. My track record is solid. And I believe it will speak for itself when the time comes.

Victor: You believe whatever you want. But if you want to be successful in business in the long run, you got to cultivate some connections, son.

Nick: Ah, yes. Grease the right palms. See, I don't follow your version of the rules to get ahead.

Victor: You're naive, son. That's how the real world works.

Noah: Thank you, grandpa. Really. I'll keep you posted on our progress.

Victor: Need anything in the future, my boy, call me, all right?

Noah: Yeah.

Victor: Some issues might crop up unexpectedly.

Billy: Our secret is safe. Not to worry.

Victoria: How can you be sure?

Billy: Because if phyllis thought that I was using her computer to get information on jabot, she would let me have it.

Victoria: Okay. But even if she doesn't suspect you now, that doesn't mean that this is over with. Because jack is not gonna drop this.

Billy: Jack is not thinking about a computer scenario, okay? He thinks that we planted somebody upstairs to feed us information.

Victoria: All right. We just have to be very careful.

Billy: Yes. Going forward, I will. You have my word.

Victoria: Are you saying that you're willing to risk signing onto phyllis' computer again? Because I don't want this to backfire on you, billy.

Billy: It's not gonna backfire, victoria. Trust me.

Phyllis: It's a simple request to help your company. Why would you hesitate?

Ravi: [ Sighs ] Corporate espionage seems so far-fetched to me.

Phyllis: Not when a newman's involved.

Ravi: This was much more likely a careless mistake. A slip of the tongue. I mean, you and billy live together. Isn't it possible that you inadvertently --

Phyllis: No. Not a chance.

[ Ravi sighs ] This is one battle where I am on jabot's side. And I am trusting you, as my friend, not to repeat that.

Ravi: I won'T. I just don't get it. Billy loves his job at brash & sassy. Don't you support him?

Phyllis: With all my heart. It's one of the reasons why i want them to lose. Billy is devoted to brash & sassy. And to its C.E.O. And, that said, I have a feeling that victoria is trying to pull something shady, and I need your help to get to the bottom of this. There is a leak, and I need to stop it.

Ravi: Look, I'm sorry that this is causing you so many personal problems with billy. What is it you think I can do?

Phyllis: I'm just wondering, you know -- I'm just -- I'm wondering who else besides jack and lauren and dina and me, who could have known about this? And taken a step further and tried to sell it, maybe, for a price? I mean, I-I... I'm not worried about dina. She's got too much to lose. But, I mean, I suppose maybe jack could have mentioned something to ashley --

Ravi: No, he didn'T. She didn't know anything until after the fact.

Phyllis: Lauren said no in nanoseconds, and I can't see her telling anybody, so either we have a spy in our midst...

Ravi: Or someone gained access to the marketing proposal electronically.

Phyllis: Okay, that's a thought. Will you do a little digging and find out if anyone besides jack went into his files on the server? I mean, maybe the jabot system isn't as secure as we think.

Ravi: I need to get on this immediately.

Phyllis: Thank you. Thank you. Can't wait to see what you turn up.

Nick: Well, it's cool to know we'll be able to serve more than just water in michigan.

Noah: [ Chuckles ] No kidding.

Nick: [ Laughs ]

Noah: It's got to be rough, though. You know, keeping your cool with grandpa. Accepting his help. It seems like all he wants to do is criticize you.

Nick: Don't worry about it. I'm good. I've dealt with the constant criticism my whole life. But right now, I'd rather focus on the positive. You know, we were in a jam, now we're not, so we can focus on getting underground number two up and running, and then start working on number three.

Noah: Starting to feel real now.

Nick: It feels like we hit a real turning point.

Noah: Yeah.

Nick: [ Laughs ]

Nikki: Wow. It looks like somebody just got some good news.

Nick: Hey, mom. What brings you by?

Nikki: Um...actually, noah, honey, I was hoping to speak with your father alone.

Noah: Yeah, I got some stuff to do in the back. I'll, uh, leave you to it.

Nikki: So, what, uh -- what has you two smiling?

Nick: Oh, you know. Just, uh, got a nice little visit from dad.

Nikki: Oh. Not the answer I was expecting.

Nick: Yeah, we were having trouble getting a liquor license in michigan, but dad was able to pull some strings and get it done. Definitely not my first choice, but for noah's sake, I dealt with it, because I know how much this means to him.

Nikki: Well, it sounds like you handled that the best way you could.

Nick: I refuse to let my issues with dad get in the middle of their relationship with him. You know, sometimes I have to grit my teeth, but faith adores her grandpa, so I'm making every effort not to let my negativity influence her opinion.

Nikki: Yeah, well, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but where faith is concerned, victor's not playing by the same rules.

Nick: What are you talking about?

Nikki: Victor went to see faith at camp the night before she came home.

Sharon: It kills me that we lost track of alice. Right? We can't give up now.

[ Straw rustling ] Um, faith's coming. I have to go. Talk soon?

Faith: [ Sighs ] Mom! Guess what? I took patches through the whole obstacle course. Twice!

Sharon: That's wonderful, sweetie!

Faith: Mm-hmm. Where's grandma? I thought she was coming to get me?

Sharon: Um, something came up. But you can stay with me until your dad comes to take you home.

Faith: You mean, chelsea's place.

Sharon: Yeah. I was hoping you'd start to see it as your home, too. You know, your dad's there. Christian. And, you know, you have a beautiful new bedroom.

Faith: [ Chuckles ] Yeah. That's all great. But I miss living at the ranch all the time. Being able to see you whenever i want, the pool, the horses. And grandpa, of course. Can I go see him now?

Sharon: Oh, he's probably still at work. But we have the whole house to ourselves, and we're long overdue for some serious girl time. So... you know, I miss that.

Faith: I miss that, too, mom.

Jack: Mother, we want you here. As part of the family, as someone who's expertise we can draw on. We have a good thing here. Don't let your feelings for graham end it.

Dina: Graham will never read another word of jabot material. Okay?

Ashley: Thank you.

Jack: Yes, thank you. I'm glad for your decision. Listen, I would love to stay and talk, but I have a meeting i have to get to. Excuse me.

Ashley: I sense a problem.

Dina: You know, I can't understand why you still judge graham so harshly, ashley.

Ashley: Honestly, mother, i don't think he's been honest with you, not since the very first day he met you.

Dina: Oh, what are you talking about?

Ashley: Well, how did you and graham meet?

Dina: Oh, we met in monte carlo. On a sheik's yacht.

Ashley: [ Scoffs ] Okay. Well, was he actually an invited guest?

Dina: Well, how else would he have been there?

Ashley: Listen, do you think it's a possibility that maybe he found himself a way onto that boat for the express purpose of meeting you?

Dina: Well, if he did, I find that very flattering.

Ashley: Really?

Dina: Mm-hmm.

Ashley: You don't think it speaks to him maybe having an agenda?

Dina: Oh, here we go again.

Ashley: Well, I know for a fact that he tried for many years to get a job at mergeron. He tried and tried and tried to no avail. Until that fateful night where he was able to charm you into hiring him.

Dina: You're digging around in graham's past? My god, ashley. You're relentless.

Ashley: Jack and I want the truth, that's all. And we don't think you're gonna ever be able to see it because you're so blinded by your infatuation.

Dina: Well, you're wrong about that. And I can prove it.

Dina: Graham and I have keys to each other's rooms. Take it.

Ashley: Seriously?

Dina: I'm paying for it. And since graham's in paris, you can have it all.

Ashley: I don't think he'd approve.

Dina: Oh, well, you don't care about that. So go ahead. Satisfy your curiosity, ashley. Search every last inch of that room.

Ashley: Mother --

Dina: And if you do, know that I will expect an apology, and put an end to this insanity when you finally realize graham has nothing to hide.

Nick: Are you certain about this?

Nikki: Honey, the camp director confirmed it. Victor was there.

Nick: He wanted to get to her first. To explain why me and chelsea moved in together.

Nikki: Well, that's my guess.

Nick: I can just see dad now. You know, painting himself out to be the good guy. You know, he didn't want faith to be caught off guard by this thoughtless decision her dad made while she was away. And dad is just devastated, you know, because they're not gonna get to spend as much time together, but she can always come out to the ranch, because he is the one who's always been there for her.

Nikki: Yep, that sounds about right.

Nick: You know, I never told her the truth because I didn't want to damage her feelings toward her grandpa. But after certain things she's said, I mean, it is clear dad has twisted the truth to draw her closer to him.

Nikki: It just sickens me that he felt the need to stoop so low. He must feel so threatened, to do something like this.

Nick: You know what this means, right? I mean, I have to tell faith the truth on why we moved. Otherwise there's gonna be a part of her that is always gonna resent me and chelsea for taking her away.

Nikki: I know. I hate to say it, but I think you're right.

Nick: [ Claps ] Well, thanks for telling me, mom. I know it couldn't have been easy.

Nikki: Honey, you had a right to know. But I worry about faith. Her relationship with victor. What do you intend to do about that?

[ Indistinct conversation ]

Victoria: Oh, and here. Please.

Billy: It is.

Victor: Hey.

Victoria: Hi, dad.

Victor: Hope I'm not interrupting.

Billy: Well, if that were true, you wouldn't have strolled right in here and interrupted.

Victor: This a bad time, sweetheart?

Victoria: Uh, no. Actually, we're finished up here, so...

Billy: Yeah, I got something to take care of. I'll see you later.

Victoria: Okay. Bye.

Billy: Buh-bye.

Victor: So?

Victoria: So. What's going on? It must be important if you're here in person.

Phyllis: Hey, I appreciate you taking the time to figure this out.

Ravi: Not a problem.

Phyllis: Probably figure it out myself, but you are much faster.

Ravi: You know, if I didn't go into software engineering, i would have specialized in cybersecurity. You know -- data loss prevention, cryptography. Those are some of my favorite subjects.

Phyllis: Well, jabot is gonna owe you big time, okay? You make that wish list. Office with a window, a car, a condo...

Ravi: No, no need. I'm happy to help.

Phyllis: You're too good, you know that?

Ravi: Thanks.

Billy: Hey.

Phyllis: Hi.

Billy: I heard you were in here.

Phyllis: Well, uh, you're brave. Jack is expected back, so...

Billy: Well, this is important.

Phyllis: Okay. Uh... we're actually working on something, but we're gonna wrap it up in just a few minutes.

Ravi: It's okay. I'd rather work from home. I can concentrate better.

Phyllis: Okay. Um... when do you think you'll have that back to me?

Ravi: Shouldn't be more than a few days.

Phyllis: Okay, great.

Billy: Thanks.

Ravi: Take it easy.

Phyllis: Uh, if you are gonna want to know what that was all about --

Billy: I don't, actually. I want to try and keep business out of this conversation.

Phyllis: Okay. So...what do you want?

Billy: I think we need to talk about what's happening between us.

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Jack: Oh, good. You're still here. We can finish our discussion.

Dina: Well, I have some things I want to say to you, too.

Jack: Well, good. Let's go inside. I have a new assignment for you.

Dina: Oh, zip it. Enemy approaching.

Jack: Well, nikki! What a nice surprise.

Nikki: I'm sorry to come by unexpectedly. I just needed to see you.

Dina: [ Chuckles ] Well, of course we have to put everything else aside.

Nikki: Hello, dina.

Dina: Hello, nikki.

Jack: Mother and I were just wrapping up. I'll talk about your new assignment later.

Dina: Mm.

Jack: Okay. What has the sullen, morose lord of the manor done now?

Nikki: Oh, please. Let's not get into it. I came here to escape the drama.

Jack: Okay. Then... I'm at your service. I know all too well the stresses you're under -- walking away from your marriage, dealing with a rift in your family.

Nikki: I haven't had a moment's peace since we were at that cabin.

Jack: So why don't we go up there again today? Forget all our troubles. Just relax.

Nikki: Really? You could do that? You have time to do that?

Jack: I could use some time away, myself. I've been working really hard.

Nikki: Now, when you say "work," I hope you're not referring to sabotaging brash & sassy, that you took my words to heart.

Jack: You have nothing to worry about. Victoria and I have established a ceasefire. From here on out, nothing but straightforward, healthy competition.

Nikki: Well, good. I'm glad to hear that. And I hope it lasts, because i know a part of you still wants to get back at billy for his betrayal.

Jack: For what it's worth, there is a part of billy that will always want to show me up, as well.

Nikki: Well, the good news is, you are both smart, clever businessmen. You don't have to tear each other down in order to build yourselves up. The low road never works. You just end up hurting yourselves.

Jack: Well, I don't want to hurt myself or jabot... or what you and I have together.

Billy: I don't like this tension between us. And I realize that I'm responsible for a lot of it. When you brought up jack's suspicion, I... [ Sighs ] I overreacted, okay? And I came here to apologize to you.

Phyllis: Apology accepted. I should've kept my mouth shut. I should've known how you would have taken it, and I am sorry, too.

Billy: I'd like to make it up to you. Can I do that? Can I take you out for dinner? Maybe some candles, some music. The works. Does that sound good?

Phyllis: No. That sounds perfect.

Victor: So, last time we had dinner, you asked me for some advice. So I came by to see how you were doing. Thank you.

Victoria: Thank you, daddy. You know, I actually took your advice.

Victor: Mm!

Victoria: Yep.

Victor: You did?

Victoria: Yeah, I did. You said that I needed to be more proactive if I wanted to change people's perception of brash & sassy, so that's exactly what I'm doing. I still have a bit of a ways to go before I get back to where we started, but I'm feeling very hopeful.

Victor: Good. Now, if at any time in the future you want to ask some further questions, please feel free.

Victoria: Nope. I'm feeling very confident about my plan of attack.

Victor: Good.

Victoria: So, does anything else bring you by?

Victor: I'd like to ask you to do something for me.

Sharon: Almost done. It's so cute!

Faith: [ Laughs ]

Sharon: Okay, done.

[ Knock on door ]

Sharon: It's open!

Nick: Hey.

Sharon: Hi.

Faith: Hey. Look! Dad, look! Mom did a french braid. She called it tr...

Sharon: Très chic.

Nick: Ah, mais oui. How'd your lesson go?

Faith: [ Sighs ] Good.

Sharon: Um, so faith has some very exciting news to share.

Faith: Mark says I'm ready to compete.

Nick: Compete? Mark as in your, uh -- your riding instructor said that?

Faith: Mm-hmm. He said there's an equestrian competition for kids my age coming up in a month. Can I do it? Please? Patches is ready, too!

Nick: Uh... you know what, your mom and i will talk to, uh -- to mark, and then kind of find out what the story is, which events you'll be doing. And if we're comfortable with it, then sure.

Faith: Yay! I can't wait to tell grandpa. He might be home now. Can I go over?

Nick: Uh, hold on a second. Why don't you, uh... sit down here. Um...I need to talk to you about your grandpa.

Faith: Is he okay?

Nick: No, he's fine. Um... I heard that he came to see you the night before you came home from camp.

Faith: Oh. When did he tell you?

Nick: Well, he didn'T. Your grandma did. She found out, and then she thought that I should know.

Faith: Are you mad at me for not saying anything?

Nick: No. No, not at all.

Faith: Please don't be mad at grandpa, either. He just wanted to see me.

Nick: Look, the problem isn't that he came to see you. The problem is that he wasn't honest with you.

Faith: About what?

Nick: About why we really left the ranch.

Nick: While you were away at camp, your grandfather and I got into an argument. And he decided I shouldn't live here anymore.

Faith: Grandpa wanted us to leave?

Nick: Well, he wanted me to leave.

Faith: It must have been a bad argument.

Nick: Yeah. It was. And, honestly, I wasn't expecting to have to go. But I want you to know that all the reasons I told you why we moved in with chelsea are true. You know, we've gotten very close, and she means a lot to me, and it feels like we were ready for this next step.

Faith: So, the reason you didn't wait till I got home to move is 'cause you didn't have a choice.

Nick: That's right.

Faith: Why didn't you tell me?

Sharon: Because your father didn't want to upset you. We knew that you had a big change to deal with, and didn't want to make it any harder.

Faith: When grandpa talked to me, he seemed so sad I'd only be living here some of the time.

Nick: Well, I know he meant that, okay? Your grandfather cares about you very much.

Sharon: You know, when people in families argue, they don't want to pull everyone else who loves them into the fight.

Nick: The reason I wanted to explain all this to you is 'cause I know you are still kind of confused as to why we moved in with chelsea. It wasn't, though, for you to resent your grandfather in any way. Okay?

Faith: Okay. Thank you for telling me.

Sharon: You two ready to go?

Faith: I left some riding stuff on the ground at the stables. I should go put it away.

Nick: Yeah. Why don't you, uh, go down there. I'll be down in a second, okay?

Faith: Okay.

Sharon: Whoa. I did not know what to expect, but it definitely was not that.

Nick: Well, that's my dad for you. You know, just when you think he can't find any more ways to screw you over... he does. He may have washed his hands of me, but I know he will do anything to not lose his grandkids.

Victoria: So, you want to see katie and johnny?

Victor: Yeah, is that surprising? And reed, too. Been a hell of a long time, you know.

Victoria: Yeah.

Victor: It spite of the falling out your brother and I had, I still have the opportunity to see faith. Hope you will do me the same favor.

Victoria: Well, of course. You know they always want to see you. Come by my place, okay?

Victor: Well, they could come by the ranch.

Victoria: I'll let you know when a good time would be.

Victor: Okay. I look forward to it.

[ Door opens ]

Nikki: Oh, if you're waiting for jack, he'll be out shortly.

Dina: Why, no, dear. I was hoping to catch you.

Nikki: Oh, really? Why? So you can tell me yet again how much you disapprove of our relationship? Well, noted -- and ignored.

Dina: [ Chuckles ] Well, I can't ignore the fact that you've been using jack as a port in the storm while you're still married to victor.

Nikki: Separated. We are separated.

Dina: You are married still, lady.

Nikki: Will you get off your high horse and just let us be? Jack an I are both consenting adults. And for your information, he's a lot more to me than someone to lean on.

Dina: Perhaps he is. The perfect person to warm your bed and make victor jealous, hm?

Nikki: I have no desire to do that. I don't really care what he thinks about anything that I do.

Jack: Everything all right here, ladies?

Nikki: Oh, just fine, jack.

Jack: Good. Then we'll be on our way.

Dina: Uh, where are you going?

Jack: We are going for some well-deserved r&r up at the cabin. So, uh, I'll see you tomorrow. Or maybe not.

Nikki: Bye-bye.

[ Lock clicks ]

[ Drawer opens, closes ]

[ Cabinet opens, closes ]

[ Cabinet opens, closes ]

Sharon: And she kept victor's secret this whole time...

Nick: Faith worships him. And that's what my dad was counting on. But at least now she knows the truth, and she'll realize that things aren't always the way her grandfather makes them appear.

Sharon: And that's a hard lesson to learn at her age. But she needed to learn it. So...what's your policy now on her spending time with victor?

Nick: Well, nothing's changed. She can still see him. But, sharon, we have to keep an eye on things. Especially if he starts pulling her strings again.

Sharon: We'll have to do something about it. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.

Victor: There you are. You're still here. Did you have fun at your lesson?

Faith: Yes.

Victor: You know, snowdrop is going to foal in about two weeks. Would you like to take a look at her?

Faith: No.

Victor: What's the matter, sweetheart?

Faith: You lied to me, grandpa.

Victor: What do you mean, I lied to you?

Faith: Why we left the ranch. You told me daddy wanted to move out of our house, but you kicked him out.

Victor: Oh, sweetheart. I didn't want to upset you. Let me explain this to you.

Faith: How can you be so mean to him?! And you said you'd never lie to me, but you did!

Victor: My sweet pea, will you let me explain this to you?

Faith: No. I don't trust you.

Nick: Faith? Faith?

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Victoria: Mom. [ Sighs ] I didn't expect to see you. Or that.

Nikki: We're going to jack's family's cabin.

Victoria: Oh. Terrific.

Jack: We both thought we could use a little getaway.

Victoria: That's great.

Nikki: Jack told me about your truce.

Victoria: Oh, did he? Well, I'm really glad. Yes, that was my idea, and jack was quite willing to go along with it. I guess he realized it was what was best for everyone.

Jack: Exactly.

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Victoria: All right, then. Enjoy your time off from work, jack. Uh, and you two have fun.

Billy: Hey there.

Dina: Oh, billy! I didn't know you were here.

Billy: Oh, you know, just passing through.

Dina: Oh, well, you came at a good time. The coast is clear. Jack just left for the day with nikki.

Billy: Ah.

Phyllis: Okay, I have everything now.

Dina: Oh, hello, phyllis.

Phyllis: Dina. As much as I'd like to chat, we are actually on our way out.

Dina: Oh, well, before you go, I have a question for billy. Why do you and your brother choose women who are so clearly bad for you?

Phyllis: Excuse me?

Dina: Well, I know you and i are not that well-acquainted, but I know everything I need to know about this one.

Phyllis: How about we pump the brakes for just a moment?

Dina: Well, listen. She will betray you. Just like she betrayed your brother. Get out, billy. Get out while you still can.

Ashley: "Boca pointe active living residence. Monthly private suite $8,000." Boca...pointe... ...living residence. [ Gasps ]

Next on "the young and the restless"...

Victor: You're poisoning my grandchildren against me.

Nick: That's your spin.

Victor: No, son. This one is on you.

Abby: What are you two trying to do? Start the final newman-abbott war?

Graham: You have 10 seconds to start talking, then I'm calling the police.
