Episode # 11238 ~ Jack retaliates against Billy; Cane offers up dirt on Brash & Sassy; Graham covers for Dina.

Provided By Suzanne

Hilary: Juliet.

Juliet: I wanted to say hi, and to tell you I love what you're wearing.

Hilary: It's from a boutique in new york. I just got in. I thought I would celebrate a successful trip. I would offer you one, but...

Juliet: Give me a few months and I'll join you.

Hilary: I like your outfit, as well. It looks, um, roomy.

Juliet: Yeah, I finally had to buy maternity clothes. Poor guy. He's been having a hard time since lily kicked him out.

Hilary: Not that you care, since he's your baby daddy.

Juliet: I should see how he's doing.

Hilary: Yeah. Yeah, you should.

Juliet: Hey, you. Mind if I sit?

Cane: Go ahead.

Juliet: Thanks. Swollen feet. I'm waiting for some prenatal test results. My doctor says the pregnancy is going exactly as expected.

Cane: Well, that's great.

Juliet: How are things with you?

Cane: Uh, better. I, uh -- I have a job interview.

Juliet: That's fantastic!

Cane: Yeah, so hopefully my life's about to turn around.

Lily: The dare campaign has been on an indefinite hold.

Neil: Really? Why?

Lily: Budgetary issues.

Neil: Okay, yeah, I heard there was rumblings that brash & sassy! Was in trouble. I -- I guess they're true.

Lily: One minute I'm being praised for a photo shoot, the next, I'm basically unemployed.

Neil: Oh, baby girl, I am so sorry about that. I know how tough it is to lose a job you love.

Lily: Well, hopefully, it's temporary.

Neil: Remember what I told you. You can always come to bank of dad.

Lily: You don't have to.

Neil: Yeah, well, please promise me you'll make me your first call.

Lily: I appreciate it, but it's not gonna come to that, okay?

Neil: Okay. What's going on? I'm feeling like there's some plan coming on.

Lily: Well, I'm gonna tell barry to send me out on more auditions, you know? Now that I've had much luck with that.

Neil: Hey. Any company would be lucky to have you selling its products.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Neil: Now, my only concern is that, you know, there's a ton of competition out there.

Lily: It doesn't matter. I will do whatever it takes to get my family through this.

Neil: How about you and cane? Any changes on how you feel about, you know, your marriage?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Are you alone, or is my father lurking in the conference room?

Billy: That's funny.

Victoria: Just wondering if you two are gonna team up again and tell me what's best for my company.

Billy: Okay, you can stop now.

Victoria: Seriously, billy, what were you thinking, telling him that we're struggling like this?

Billy: All right, I shouldn't have said anything.

Victoria: And yet you did.

Billy: Well, I had a temporary moment of insanity thinking that your father would be a better option than hochman. But it's all good, right? Because you've signed the deal and we got the cash flow we needed.

Victoria: Nope. We're still behind the velvet rope.

Billy: You didn't sign?

Victoria: Not yet.

Billy: At the club, you made it sound like it was gonna be inevitable. So what happened? Did hochman pull a fast one?

Victoria: It wasn't him. It was me.

Benjamin: Covert meeting in your office -- is that wise?

Jack: Oh, not to worry. Prying eyes and ears don't usually make it to the office this early.

Benjamin: I'll take your word.

Jack: So, you have some good news for me?

Benjamin: Victoria is ready to sign the bridge loan agreement.

Jack: Oh, what a shame that her company's in the kind of shape that they need that option. But it's the perfect avenue for you to get closer to victoria and her company.

Benjamin: I met someone who shares your enthusiasm for brash & sassy!'S demise.

Jack: Oh?

Benjamin: Cane ashby.

Jack: Is that so?

Benjamin: He said he would hand me the dirt if hired him.

Jack: Could be useful. I'm not sure he's worth the trouble.

Dina: What took you so long?

Graham: I was reviewing the report you prepped for jack.

Dina: The parker project. Yes.

Graham: I took the liberty of correcting a few typos here and there, as well as some other things.

Dina: Such as?

Graham: A few of your figures were a little off.

Dina: Oh. I see. Thank you. I'll make sure my son gets your corrected version.

Graham: It's -- it's your version, dina.

Ravi: Morning.

Ashley: Hi. It's so late. I never sleep in this late.

Ravi: Me, neither. I slept really well. Must be the, uh, morning air. Or the company.

Ashley: So, that was quite a night.

Ravi: Yeah. Yeah, about that... we had...

Ashley: Sex?

Ravi: Yeah, that.

[ Clears throat ]

Ashley: [ Laughs ]

Ravi: That was unexpected.

Ashley: Was it?

Ravi: Look, I have no regrets about what happened. I do have to ask -- do you think it was a mistake? (Vo) dogs have evolved,

Neil: So, cane sold his car.

Lily: [ Sighs ] Yeah. To pay for the kids' tuition. I think he thought that would help make things better between us.

Neil: But it didn'T.

Lily: No. One gesture is not gonna erase all of his lies.

Neil: Yeah, he's got a long way to go before he deserves any kind of forgiveness.

Lily: We have overcome so much in the past, that I just -- I thought we would be in a better place by now. But this time, it's different.

Neil: Really? How so?

Lily: Because every time i see juliet and her little baby bump, it's just a visible reminder of how cane cheated on me. And instead of healing, it just breaks my heart more and more, and not just for me, but for the kids, too.

Neil: You know the kids are very aware of all the tension in the house.

Lily: Yeah, of course. Charlie's furious. He doesn't even want to be around him. Mattie's not far behind after cane went off on her yesterday.

Neil: Wait, wait. What? What happened?

Lily: He walked in on her making out with a boy.

Neil: Who's the unlucky kid that was making moves on mattie?

Lily: Reed hellstrom.

Neil: Reed hellstrom? That's victoria's son.

Lily: Mm-hmm. Ironic, right?

Neil: Yeah.

Lily: And mattie's really into him, but cane doesn't want her seeing him because of what happened at brash & sassy!

Neil: Why am I not surprised?

Lily: Yeah.

Neil: So, do you, uh... do you agree with him?

Lily: I don't know. I'm on the fence. That's why I told mattie to, you know, put a little space between them for a bit.

Neil: I bet that went over well.

Lily: Yeah, she was upset, but she's still talking to me, so that's a plus.

Neil: So then things are good between you two?

Lily: Yeah. Thankfully. But I do hate that there's a disconnect between cane and his kids.

Neil: Yeah, I know you do.

Lily: I'm really, really trying to preserve their relationship, but he's not making anything better by getting worked up over reed and alienating mattie.

Neil: The guy just -- he doesn't get it, you know? He can't see past his own emotions. It's terrible.

Lily: No, it just makes him so irrational. And I'm hoping one day that he'll hold himself accountable for his actions.

Neil: And yours. Because having two unhappy parents in a marriage is absolutely not good for the family. And, honey, you -- you have to be able to forgive him, too.

Lily: I know. I'm just starting to wonder if...

Neil: Yeah. Come here.

Juliet: So, fill me in on this new opportunity.

Cane: It's a consulting gig with the potential for some growth.

Juliet: Any company would be lucky to have you.

Cane: [ Scoffs ] You see, you are the only person who thinks like that on this planet.

Juliet: I witnessed your talent firsthand in tokyo. Your business talent. I'm still in awe that you were able to seal with sato san after he walked.

Cane: Well, that wasn't talent, that was fear and adrenaline.

Juliet: That was savvy and skill.

Cane: Credit where credit's due. You were the one who brought him back.

Juliet: We were a formidable team, weren't we?

Cane: We were, and then, uh, my contributions at brash & sassy! Had to be minimized 'cause victoria wanted to put billy abbott in the spotlight.

Juliet: You felt screwed over by billy. That's why you set him up. And with him out of the way, you'd have a chance to shine. That seems logical to me.

Cane: Well, maybe it's logical to you, but not everybody else sees it that way, do they?

Juliet: Sometimes you have to look out for yourself.

Cane: Like you did when you filed that lawsuit against me, right?

Juliet: I think the best thing for us to do is to keep moving forward, not back.

Cane: Right. Well, unfortunately, sometimes it's not that easy.

Juliet: This job is a good opportunity.

Cane: Yes, it is. 'Cause once I get my career back on track, hopefully my personal life will follow, and lily will be able to forgive me, and I can get my family back together.

Juliet: Well, until then, if you need someone to talk to, I've got nothing but time.

Jack: I was tempted to hire cane myself.

Benjamin: Why didn't you?

Jack: Personal reasons, and if you decide to bring him on board, under no circumstances is he to know about our alliance.

Benjamin: Because of those personal reasons.

Jack: Exactly. And if you're smart, you won't tell victoria about your new hire. She despises the guy.

Benjamin: Well, I can handle that. Trust me, she'll never find out.

Jack: Okay, back to our collaboration. When will this bridge loan be a done deal?

Benjamin: Soon.

Jack: You seem very confident of that.

Benjamin: Well, I thought victoria would make it official last night, but she decided to sleep on it.

Jack: I'm sure borrowing that kind of money has her tossing and turning. Newmans don't like to depend on others, especially outsiders.

Benjamin: I'm pretty sure it had more to do with billy and victor showing up.

Jack: What were those two doing together?

Benjamin: [ Scoffs ] Trying to convince her not to do business with me, I assume.

Jack: Don't allow victoria to mull this over any longer. You close this deal before she changes her mind.

Victoria: Accepting a loan from benjamin is a big decision. It has to be a rational one, not an emotional one.

Billy: Okay, so you didn't want to get in bed with hochman just because you're pissed off at your father for turning on nick.

Victoria: Business 101. Never sign anything until it's been vetted. That's why I asked for more time with the contract. I took a look at it last night. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, but I just wanted to look at it again and make sure that the terms are acceptable. That's all. That's three vettings -- two last night, one this morning.

Victoria: So what, billy?

Billy: You're being awfully thorough for a short-term loan.

Victoria: Okay, the last time I didn't take a hands-on approach to my own company, I got burned. I'm never gonna be that rash again.

Billy: You're never rash with business, and you never second-guess your instincts. So why are you doing it now?

Ashley: Hi.

Ravi: Hey.

Ashley: I'm sorry if I was giving you mixed messages. I want to tell you that, unequivocally, I have absolutely no regrets. I mean, come on. How could I?

Ravi: I am so relieved to hear you say that.

Ashley: Oh, come here. Come on. Coming here was a fantastic idea.

Ravi: Yeah, it's so peaceful, relaxing.

Ashley: It's so far away from all those nosy people that are so interested in my love life.

Ravi: Everyone does seem to have an opinion about us.

Ashley: I know.

Ravi: What we are, what we should or shouldn't be.

Ashley: Exactly.

Ravi: I know you have an image to maintain.

Ashley: Mm. You know, frankly, ravi, this probably would have happened a lot sooner if I wasn't so stupid and so concerned about that image.

Ravi: It was worth the wait. But I got to be honest --

Ashley: Hmm?

Ravi: I wanted this to happen for a long time.

Ashley: So did I.

Ravi: You did?

Ashley: Yes! I just, you know, wasn't able to admit it to myself before now. I think -- I think I've been so afraid of the consequences, you know, of us being together and what people would think.

[ Sighs ] Last night, I was just able to be with you and be in the moment, as you say.

Ravi: Hey.

Ashley: Hmm?

Ravi: I will understand if this just turns out to be a moment in time for us.

Ashley: Well, listen, I don't know what the future holds, do you?

Ravi: No.

Ashley: But I do know that it was a really incredibly wonderful moment.

Dina: "Please check in with me when you get to jabot. Thanks." He's read the report. He's noticed my errors!

Graham: Those errors no longer exist. You have nothing to worry about.

Dina: Well, I -- I better get to the office.

Graham: Should I make dinner plans for us, or...?

Dina: Well, I -- I don't know. I don't know how long I'm going to be. I'll call you later.

Graham: Okay, you can call me any time during the day if you need me.

Dina: Well, I know that.

Graham: I'm just trying to be helpful, dina.

Dina: Thank you. I'm just a little bit frustrated.

Graham: That's what I'm here for, to take care of any and all frustrations you may have.

Dina: Thank you.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hey, gino. I wasn't expecting to hear from you. Some issues with the facilities department? What about the brash & sassy! Office?

Cane: I have all this, uh, valuable information about brash & sassy! Just taking up all this room in my head.

Benjamin: Why don't you spill some of that now? Give me a little preview of what I can get if I hire you.

Cane: Well, my primary responsibility was the asian market, which to this day, is still the company's biggest source of revenue.

Benjamin: Information that i can get from an internet search is not valuable. My interest is getting colder by the second.

Cane: Well, that intel wasn't limited to one specific market, was it? 'Cause I was actually involved in every aspect of the company.

Benjamin: It's warming up.

Cane: And so it should. 'Cause every success and strength, every weakness and failure, and every plan that victoria had, it's right here. You see, that knowledge, it makes me the perfect candidate for your consulting position because I do think that you're proposing, what, acquiring brash & sassy!?

Benjamin: I never said that that was part of the plan. Best to keep your presumptions to yourself.

Cane: You do realize that everything we discuss stays in this room, right?

Benjamin: You've given me a lot to consider. I'll be in touch.

Cane: 'Cause, you see, to get what you want, you have to know all the skeletons in brash & sassy!'S closet, and I just so happen to be the man who has the key.

Benjamin: So far, you've only given me generalities. For this interview to continue, I want to hear some specific examples.

Cane: But that's not gonna happen until you give me a deal.

Victoria: [ Scoffs ] Stop.

Billy: You want me to take a look at it?

Victoria: No. I got this, okay? I'm not doubting myself. It's just that after everything that happened with cane, I'm just being extra cautious.

Billy: Yep. That's good. I mean, can't be too careful with a guy like hochman. Look, vick, I'm just thinking here.

Victoria: What?

Billy: We're savvy business people, right? I mean, we can get through the next quarter without taking a loan. Let's just put our noggins together and figure this thing out. We don't have to do --

Jack: Hope it's a good time.

Victoria: Well, hello, jack. What do you want?

Jack: Well, hard as it is to comprehend, it has been a year since you moved into this building. Time to sign a new lease.

Billy: Thank you for the reminder. We'll call gino. Appreciate it.

Jack: Not necessary. I wanted to deliver the documents in person.

Billy: Unbelievable.

Victoria: You bastard.

Ashley: What? What are you thinking about?

Ravi: I just can't help wondering -- now that we've, you know... will what's happened between us affect things at work?

Ashley: Why would it?

Ravi: I don't know, shifting personal dynamic, especially in a business environment can cause for a lot of weirdness. Take phyllis and jack.

Ashley: Mm.

Ravi: I've been observing them for a while. I would never want that kind of weirdness or tension or awkwardness...

Ashley: We will never be like those two. I care too much about our friendship to ever let that happen.

Ravi: Me, too.

Ashley: You're the one that introduced me to electronic dance music, ravi, and the beauties of the opera. How could I lose you?

Ravi: Yeah, sharing those experiences with you was pretty incredible.

Ashley: I think so. And if it hadn't been for you when I had to deal with my mother... hello. You made me realize that my relationship with her is much more than just a black-and-white situation.

Ravi: I'm glad you're seeing dina more than just a person who abandoned you, you know, that she has feelings and needs her family's support.

Ashley: I'm trying. I have to admit it, though. It's still so strange having her at jabot. It just is...strange.

Ravi: Ugh. Speaking of which...

Ashley: Oh, no! Don't say it!

Ravi: We should head back.

Ashley: [ Groans ] I know. I don't want to go. I know you're right, though.

Ravi: [ Sigh ] I second that. Yep. I'll pack the car. You relax.

Ashley: Thank you.

Ravi: I will never forget our time here.

Hilary: Never easy seeing her, is it?

Lily: [ Scoffs ] Back from new york already?

Hilary: Yeah, the commercial shoot was quick, easy. Can't wait for the world to see it.

Lily: Well, I really hope you hit it big. That way, you can move to new york permanently.

Hilary: [ Laughs ] I will be back there for work soon enough. It's only a matter of time before I book my next gig.

Lily: Yeah, same here.

Hilary: Oh.

Lily: Yeah, you know my agent barry -- the one who wouldn't sign you -- he's sending me out on a ton of auditions, so... did you every find representation, by the way, or do you need me to leave some more scripts laying around for you?

Hilary: I understand how hard it must be for you on top of everything else going on to watch me upstage you, so I'm just gonna ignore your snark.

Lily: Yeah, please, I'm fine.

Hilary: Are you? Because, um, a few months ago, your billboard was all over hollywood. You were gonna be the next big thing, and now your whole world is crashing down -- your career, your marriage. Lily, I honestly feel bad for you.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] I don't need your pity, hilary.

Hilary: Okay, well, then, that's the spirit, you know? Just keep telling yourself that everything will get better.

Victoria: You're raising our rent 25%? That's outrageous. We have a deal.

Jack: One that states that i won't evict you, and I am holding by the terms of that agreement.

Billy: That's dirty, jack. Even for you.

Jack: Well, surely you agree, as the landlord, I'm well within my rights to raise a rent with a new lease. But if you don't like it, you're free to find another location. Of course, if you stay, the new rate starts on the first.

Billy: Son of A... he's using our financial problems to his advantage.

Victoria: Well, the joke's on him because we're not leaving.

Billy: Are you serious?

Victoria: Yeah, I'm serious! Look, it's gonna be expensive, but we don't have a choice. Relocating sends the wrong message to the business community.

Billy: Which is what?

Victoria: Which is that the rumors are true, that brash & sassy! Is in trouble and we can't even afford to pay our rent.

Billy: A piece of information he will take to the press as soon as he gets a chance.

Victoria: Well, we need a large influx of cash, and sooner rather than later, billy.

Billy: We're not gonna talk about alternative strategies, are we? You're gonna go with hochman.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I don't have a choice. The decision's already been made.

Cane: Here is my number, so you can call me when you want to make a deal.

Benjamin: I'll admit, there's some serious interest.

Cane: I think we'll make a great team.

Benjamin: I think we just might.

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Dina: Oh! Oh, I'm terrible sorry. I got off on the --

Billy: Dina!

Dina: Yes?

Billy: I, uh -- I heard you were back in town. It's billy, john's son.

Dina: Oh, my lord. Well, of course it is! Oh, my, you've grown up to be such a handsome man.

Billy: Aw, thank you very much. Must be the clean-ish living and good genes, I guess.

Dina: You think?

Billy: [ Laughs ]

Dina: I ran into your mother not long ago.

Billy: That must have been a treat for you.

Dina: Well, jill does have a way of getting under one's skin.

Billy: Doesn't she?

Dina: Oh, boy.

Billy: She's on an extended vacation, so you won't be running into her anytime soon.

Dina: Ah, what a blessing. Best thing I've heard all day. Well, now, if you'll excuse me, I really must go.

Billy: Are you here to see, uh, jack and ashley?

Dina: No, no. I'm here for work.

Billy: Is that right?

Dina: Yes. My son has brought me on board. I think he wants to keep me busy.

Billy: Oh, I'm sure he wants to spend time with you, too.

Dina: Perhaps.

Billy: Well, either way, it's great to see you.

Dina: Thank you.

Billy: Although, this does make us competitors now, you know, because I'm here with brash & sassy!

Dina: Well, I think a little friendly competition is good for the soul.

Billy: [ Chuckles ]

Dina: And profit margin.

Billy: I couldn't agree more. Look, if you have time, I'd love to show you around a little bit.

Dina: Oh! All right. Lead the way.

Billy: Let's go.

Dina: [ Chuckles ]

Ravi: [ Sighs ] Well, uh, this is where we part ways.

Ashley: Yeah. Let's check in together later.

Ravi: I'll be in my office.

Ashley: Okay.

Jack: Hey! Welcome back. How was your getaway?

Ashley: Good. How are things going here?

Jack: I know it's still early in the day. How about a drink?

Ashley: You're kidding me. I was only gone one night. How much could have happened while I was away?

Jack: A lot more than you'd suspect.

Cane: Hey.

Lily: Hey.

Cane: Um, so, hey, I was gonna call you, but this is good 'cause now I can tell you in person.

Lily: What is it?

Cane: I, uh -- I have my sights set on a new job. It's not official yet, but if it pans out, I should get a phone call any second with an offer.

Lily: That's great. Congrats.

Victoria: After giving it careful consideration, I've decided to go ahead with the loan.

Benjamin: Well, that's fantastic! You know, I think I still have a bottle of champagne from our last meeting. Why don't I go pop the cork to celebrate?

Victoria: One more thing, actually. I wrote up an addendum clarifying the timing, amount, and payment of interest.

Benjamin: Okay, let me take a quick peek. Yeah, it looks good to me. You grab a pen, I'll pop the cork.

Victoria: Just one more question.

Benjamin: Yeah. Shoot.

Victoria: What was cane ashby doing in your suite?

Benjamin: Excuse me? Oh, that? I mean, I met the guy down at the bar downstairs. He, uh, was looking for a job. Gave me his contact info. Hey, you want to grab those --

Victoria: Cane's employment was terminated for cause. But instead of taking responsibility, he blames me, and he's been looking for payback ever since. In fact, he's made it his mission to reveal brash & sassy!'S secrets to our top competitors. He started with jabot. That didn't work, so clearly he's moved onto hochman industries. And, apparently, you took the bait.

Billy: The whole dare line is doing really well with our customers.

Dina: Oh, and what other new products are you developing?

Billy: Oh, now, now, now. I'm not gonna give you our secrets so you run upstairs and tell jack. It's crazy, isn't it? Not only are you back in town, but working for jabot. My father would be floored.

Dina: Well, i've often wondered what john would think about all of this, considering our history.

Billy: I think he'd be all for it.

Dina: Do you honestly think so?

Billy: Yes. He's one of the most forgiving men I've ever met.

Dina: Yes, he is.

Billy: I don't know how many times I screwed up and tested his patience for years. But he always welcomed me back into the family, into the company.

Dina: Thank you for those kind words. Well, you and victoria have made an incredible place here. Although, it is a quite unusual arrangement.

Billy: Yeah, being in the same building as our corporate rivals, it's unorthodox, but we make it work.

Dina: How long has brash & sassy! Been here?

Billy: Well, it's funny you should ask that. It's been a year, and as a reward, we got hefty rent increase, aka, jack's not-so-subtle hint that he wants us to vacate the premises.

Dina: [ Chuckles ] Well, that's quite understandable, isn't it, billy? You know, I'm aware of -- how can I put it? The falling out between you two.

Billy: Your diplomacy is appreciateD.

Dina: Well, people in glass houses...

Billy: You know, this might sound crazy, but...

Dina: What?

Billy: I actually really like being in the same building as jabot. It gives me an opportunity to see jack and ashley, even though I'm persona non grata. The tension between jack and i is too much. I don't do the family function thing anymore.

Dina: What about you and ashley?

Billy: Ashley and I get along great, but we're not as close as I'd like.

Dina: Well, dear, that's something we both have in common.

Ashley: It's been a year already? That went fast.

Jack: For you, maybe. Billy in the elevator, billy prowling in the halls made it endless for me. Well, that may not be an issue for too much longer.

Ashley: Why's that?

Jack: Because our least favorite tenant may have an issue with the newly increased rent.

Ashley: How much are you going to raise it?

Jack: An amount commensurate with what I would charge any corporation moving in after them -- not that I'm going to do that. If -- when brash & sassy! Move out, we're gonna reclaim that space.

Ashley: Well, as much as i would like them to pack up and get out, I wouldn't send a moving van down there anytime soon.

Jack: No?

Ashley: No, because I believe that billy and victoria are gonna dig their heels in on this one.

Jack: Well, let them. They're already up to their knees in quicksand. Soon they'll be in over their heads.

Ashley: Uh, by the way, did you ever hear back from mother about that project you gave her?

Jack: Funny you should ask. She turned in half of her project yesterday.

Ashley: Really? That was fast.

Jack: Indeed.

Ashley: Is there something wrong?

Jack: Yeah, you could say that.

Cane: Look, I know you're bummed out that the dare campaign was suspended. But, um, if this job pans out, at least I can take care of you and the kids financially.

Lily: Yeah. Thanks for letting me know. It'll be a big help.

Cane: You know, I thought you might be happier.

Lily: I am happy for you, cane. I am.

Cane: Well, um, are you okay? Is there something bothering you? Do you want to maybe talk about it?

Lily: I'm just still dealing with the fact that my career has gone from hot to not.

Cane: Hey. HeY. It's just a speed bump.

Lily: Well, it doesn't help that i saw hilary, and all she could do was brag about well her commercial shoot went, the one that I auditioned for.

Cane: You didn't tell me that she went out for it.

Lily: Well, we had more important things to discuss.

Cane: Do you think that maybe she went behind your back and, uh, tried to steal it from you, or...?

Lily: It's not really my part to steal, but, as usual, she didn't play it straight, either. But, you know, in the end, the director chose her, so... it happens.

Cane: It doesn't make it fair.

Lily: Well, a lot of things have been unfair recently.

Benjamin: You've got this all wrong.

Victoria: Really? Have I?

Benjamin: I thought you knew me better than this. I mean, I get how much your company means to you, how much you want to protect it. But I'm not your enemy. I'm your ally. You understand that, right?

Victoria: Oh, yes, i understand.

Benjamin: Good. Okay. So let's put this past us, and let's just sign the contract. What are you doing?

Victoria: I'm calling you out. You had a meeting with cane. You're entertaining the idea of using him to get to my company.

Benjamin: All right, this is crazy. It was an innocent meeting... ...let's work this out, okay? Let me take you to lunch.

Victoria: I'm done here.

Benjamin: Give me a chance to explain.

Victoria: No, thanks, I've heard enough of your lies for one day.

Benjamin: Come on, you can't walk away like this.

Victoria: I know what you're doing -- you're playing games, you're trying to manipulate me so you can get a piece of my company.

Benjamin: Not true.

Ashley: Well, mother's numbers are wrong from the very beginning. That's why the calculations and projections are off.

Jack: It doesn't seem a little odd to you?

Ashley: No, I think it's a mistake anybody could make.

Jack: Mother's not anybody. She was a C.E.O. Of a multinational conglomerate. She should be able to do that kind of math in her sleep.

Ashley: Yeah, but, you know, she's probably used to delegating that kind of work to other executives. I'm sure it's been a long time since she's worked on a report like this on her own.

Jack: Is that what you believe, or is that the excuse you're making so you don't have to consider the less attractive option?

Ashley: Don't you think you're getting just a little ahead of yourself here?

Jack: Am I? Look, I was up half the night chewing on this. You know what I gnawed on the longest? Why did graham push mother to sell mergeron?

Ashley: Okay, what answer did you come up with?

Jack: Maybe he knows something about her we haven't even considered.

Ashley: That she had to sell because she's not capable of running her own company?

Jack: Look, if she couldn't handle this...

Billy: And this is the conference room.

Dina: Well, this little detour was an unexpected surprise.

Billy: Oh, for me, too. You've got the gears in my head spinning.

Dina: Oh, I did, hmm?

Billy: Yeah. With all my heart, I hope my brother and I can make amends. And ashley does, too. And the fact that, well, he let you back into his life after years of bitterness, it gives me hope.

Dina: Well, don't give up. It happened to me, albeit rather slowly.

Billy: It's worth the wait, isn't it?

Dina: Absolutely. And if there's anything I can do, billy, to expedite your reconciliation, I will.

Billy: Well, that would be amazing. Thank you.

Dina: You're welcome. It was lovely catching up with you.

Billy: But work's got to be done, right?

Dina: Right.

Billy: Well, I hope to see you soon.

Dina: I'd like that.

Billy: Well, the door's open. Pop in whenever you like.

Dina: Thank you, billy.

Lily: I just don't understand why I can't catch a break. It's like hilary does all these awful things, and she still gets this great opportunity. And me, I've tried to do everything right. I've worked hard at brash & sassy!, I try to be a good wife, a good mother...

Cane: You're all those things and more.

Lily: [ Scoffs ]

Cane: Hey. Hey. Sweetheart. Hey. You're the best person I know. You know that, right?

Lily: Well, doesn't matter, does it? Because victoria still put my job on hold, and you still cheated on me and lied.

Cane: [ Sighs ]

Benjamin: I only want to help you, victoria. That's why I offered you the loan.

Victoria: I would not take one dime of your money. Not now, not ever. You know, people warned me about you. They said you were a pompous ass and you couldn't be trusted. I should have listened. I don't know why I was so stupid, actually.

Benjamin: You know, stupid would be not taking my help. Brash & sassy! Won't survive without it. I know you paint a rosy picture about your company, but it's in serious trouble.

Victoria: Oh, we'll do fine without you, benjamin. Guaranteed.

Benjamin: Oh, please, just stop, all right? I hate how you've twisted these things up.

[ Scoffs ] I care for you.

Victoria: Oh, save it! I can't believe I actually spent the night with you! That was such a huge mistake!

Benjamin: Oh, really? Because you certainly seemed to enjoy it at the time. Couldn't get enough of the hoch.

Victoria: Oh, well, as it is, I can't remember most of it. And now, truthfully, I'm gonna pretend like we never even met.

Neil: Hey, vicki! How you doing -- hey, vicki! You okay?

Next on "the young and the restless"...

Phyllis: You and cane are dying to bring billy down. Consider me off the team.

Hilary: We are preempting our features to bring you late-breaking exclusive news.

Victoria: It's cane. He says we should turn on "the hilary hour." "You can't miss this."
