Episode # 11235 ~ Victor gets the upper hand in his feud with Nick; Sharon gives Scott a makeover; Victoria and Billy clash about her personal life.
Provided By Suzanne
Abby: Guess what, paper boy? The design date launch exceeded our expectations. We even outperformed our analyst data.[ Laughs ] Excuse me. Do you work here?
Scott: Ha. Funny.
Abby: No, that is funny. I seriously thought you were someone else.
Scott: You mean the debonair senior vice president of special projects?
Abby: No. The grungy, smug, under-qualified minion that my dad placed so much misguided trust in.
Nick: So you hired those guys to pack up my stuff, move me out. You're kicking me out of my home.
Victor: It's not your home. It is my home. Okay? My property.
Nick: Where is my son?
Victor: With the nanny at the main house. You can pick him up any time. Meanwhile, tell the movers where you want this moved to.
Nick: Well, you haven't given me a lot of time to figure that out, have you?
Victor: Oh, son, I've given you a lot of time. Told you sometime ago that you're no longer my son.
Nick: This is pretty damn cruel. Even for you.
Victor: You have been living in this house on my property for years. That ends today.
Billy: Ben.
Benjamin: Oh, billy. Nice seeing you again. Victoria with you?
Billy: No, she's at the office. I thought you might be there, actually.
Benjamin: Now, why would you think that?
Billy: Come on, man. I mean, I see through these games that you're playing.
Benjamin: [ Scoffs ] Whatever that means.
Billy: Well, you take victoria out for dinner, you send her flowers. You're just wooing her to get your hands on brash & sassy. Unfortunately for you, she sees through it, too.
Benjamin: Wow.
Billy: Victoria's too smart for that.
Benjamin: Well, that, uh, sure wasn't the signals I was getting last night when I took the lady out dancing.
Reed: [ Sighs ]
Victoria: Hi, honey. Is everything okay?
Reed: You tell me. All you do these day is rush to take johnny and katie to a play date, and then rush back here. I mean, you're never home.
Victoria: I'm so sorry. I know. I-I've just been swamped. And you know that things have been crazy at work ever since i had to fire cane and juliet.
Reed: That's actually exactly what I came here to talk to you about. Um, the woman you fired, juliet... I just found out she's pregnant.
Victoria: Who told you that?
Reed: Charlie and mattie did, after I pointed her out to them at the coffeehouse. Mom, I can't believe you didn't tell me. That was really embarrassing.
Victoria: So, are you mad at me, or are you mad because you felt embarrassed in front of mattie?
Hilary: Hi, mattie. Haven't seen you and charlie in a while. How's your summer been?
Mattie: Busy.
Hilary: Oh, yeah? I hope there's a little fun involved.
Mattie: Yeah. I guess.
Hilary: You know, sweetie, even though your uncle and I aren't married anymore, it doesn't mean that you and i can't still see each other. You should come by the studio. You know, check out some of the changes that we've made. I would love to give you a tour.
Mattie: That sounds great. Thank you.
Hilary: Sweetie, how are you doing? I mean really? You know, with everything. I heard what happened with your parents, and I am so sorry. If there's anything that I can do to help, please let me know, okay?
Mattie: [ Scoffs ] Is that why you're being so nice? You just want the scoop on my mom and dad so you can air it on your show.
Cane: You said your shift's over soon, so I was thinking maybe I could take you to the sports store. You know, get you some new cleats before the season starts.
Charlie: Thanks, but, you know, I've already got them.
Cane: Oh. Okay. 'Cause, you know, that's our tradition. You know, I pick you up and take you over, and we get you stuff for, uh, school. You know, uh, we do it together.
Charlie: Well, I've already got everything I need.
Cane: What, did you go alone, or...?
Lily: No. I took him.
Charlie: Look, I asked mom to take me. Don't blame her.
Lily: It's okay.
Cane: It's okay.
Lily: I'm gonna talk to your dad, so why don't you get back to work?
Charlie: Okay.
Cane: See you, man.
Charlie: Yeah.
Cane: [ Sighs ] I should've realized he hasn't forgiven me.
Lily: I think it's too soon.
Cane: Yeah. It's still not easy being blown off like that.
Lily: Well, he said that he needed sports gear, and I said that was your department, but he didn't feel comfortable coming to you.
Cane: Yeah, 'cause he wants nothing to do with me. But thank you for, uh, getting him that. He needs it. You know, he's got a big year of football.
Lily: Look, please don't put pressure on him. He's been through a lot. He needs to just focus on school.
Cane: I realize that. I won'T.
Lily: I don't want him feeling like he's let us down if he doesn't make the team for some reason.
Cane: I won't do that. It's okay. Um... I was wondering if I could, uh, stop by the house later. There's a couple of things i need to pick up.
Lily: Uh, sure. I'll be at work.
Cane: Okay.
Lily: Uh, so how are things at the chancellor house?
Cane: Uh, big and lonely. You know. Except for, uh, esther. You know, her usual hovering.
Lily: How are things on the job front?
Cane: Uh... yeah, I have a meeting with a headhunter today.
Lily: Good. I think when you get a job, you'll feel better.
Cane: [ Sighs ] Well, I'm not really gonna feel better until I get my family back.
Lily: Cane, please don't put a time line on me.
Cane: I'm gonna spend time with you and the kids, okay, and in time... I don't know. Maybe you'll just... I don't know. Trust me again. Anyway. I'll, uh... I'll see you, okay?
[ Sighs ]
Billy: So you and victoria are official now, huh? It's been, what, two dates?
Benjamin: [ Scoffs ] Hey, you keeping a tally?
Billy: I'm trying to protect her company, ben.
Benjamin: Look, I'm not stupid, okay? If victoria needs money, she can go to victor for help.
Billy: So this thing with you and victoria, it's personal.
Benjamin: Victoria's smart, beautiful, and single. I enjoy being with her. She's fun.
Billy: [ Clears throat ] You live in chicago, right? Does the long-distance thing ever work for anybody?
Benjamin: [ Laughs ] My schedule's flexible.
Billy: You didn't answer the question.
Benjamin: Look, if you're interrogating me because you're worried about how this is gonna affect your children, I can assure you I have no interest in interfering there. I care about victoria.
Billy: Yeah? Would you care this much if she didn't own a cosmetic company?
Benjamin: [ Exhales ] Well, both of us have built businesses from the ground up. We share a lot of the same interests. You know, it's rare for me to find a woman that I have so much in common with.
Billy: That's very sweet. So this attraction with victoria, it's got nothing to do with business, huh?
Benjamin: [ Sighs ] Do you do this with all of your ex-wife's dates? Give 'em the third degree and hope that you scare 'em off?
Billy: I got no intention of scaring you off. As long as victoria's happy.
Benjamin: Good. Because you've been divorced a long time. You have a live-in girlfriend. You'd kind of be a hypocrite if you expected victoria to behave like a nun.
Billy: How do you know that I have a girlfriend?
Benjamin: Victoria told me.
Victoria: Hey. I'm sorry. We had to finish going over the layouts for the end of summer.
Reed: It's fine.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] Honey, listen. Everything that is going on with cane and his family, including juliet's pregnancy, is cane's business, and I don't have to share any of that with you.
Reed: I know that, mom. But you could've. I mean, I'm not a child. And mattie is... mattie's my friend.
Victoria: How is she?
Reed: Terrible. I just wanted to help, and all i did was make things worse.
Victoria: No, you didn't make things worse. You didn'T. I promise you. If anyone should fee bad here, it's cane.
Reed: That's for sure.
Victoria: I think it's great that you want to help mattie, and... it's great. But, I mean, how long have you two known each other? How friendly are you?
Reed: Mom, I really don't appreciate you grilling me on my friendships, especially when i came here to have a serious conversation with you. If it makes you feel any better, mattie's nothing like zoey.
Victoria: [ Scoffs ] Well, I never even thought that. Trust me. And I would never tell you not to see her. I learned my lesson on that the last time, okay? Good.
Reed: Good.
Victoria: I'm just saying, given everything that's happened with cane, maybe you should just try to see mattie just a little tiny bit less.
Reed: Why would -- why would you say that?
Victoria: Just until things settle with her family. That's all.
[ Cellphone buzzes ] Oh, my gosh. Honey, I have to take this, okay? I love you. I will see you later. And...I love you. Okay? Victoria newman. Hi. Yes, I was waiting for you to call. Great.
Chelsea: You sounded very mysterious on the phone. What's going on?
Jordan: Landed a new gig.
Chelsea: You did? Good for you! Doing what?
Jordan: Mr. Newman hired me to do updated photos of him and his staff.
Chelsea: You got your foot in at newman already? That's fantastic. How did he hear about you?
Jordan: Hilary recommended me.
Chelsea: Oh, okay. Well, that's generous.
Jordan: She can be all kinds of good when she wants to be.
Chelsea: So, I take it you guys are good?
Jordan: Yeah, yeah. It's cool. I need your take on mr. Newman. I saw the footage online of his fight with his son. Pretty brutal.
Chelsea: Yeah. When victor loses his temper, watch out.
Jordan: Well, I know you guys are cool. How should I handle him if he tries to micromanage my shoot? Should I let him?
Chelsea: No. Not at all.
Jordan: Oh, yeah?
Chelsea: Victor, he respects people who are confident in their jobs. Just be yourself. You'll be fine.
Jordan: Yeah. Hey, can I ask you a personal question?
Chelsea: What kind of personal?
Jordan: Well... you date his son, right?
Chelsea: Nick? Yeah. Why do you ask?
Jordan: Well, doesn't that cause, you know, problems?
Chelsea: [ Sighs ] Victor's done a lot for me in the past. Nick knows that I like him. He -- he supports that I'm a -- a neutral party.
Jordan: Well, nick sounds like a good guy.
Chelsea: Yeah, he really is.
Jordan: I'm glad you got somebody solid in your life right now.
Chelsea: Me too. I mean, we're very serious, but we're also adults. Nick and I, we have our own jobs, we have our own passions. It's not like we're connected at the hip or something.
Jordan: Well, I know how much you love your independence.
[ Both laugh ] Yeah.
Chelsea: I do. It's important to me. And it's important to nick, too. I think having independence makes the relationship stronger. Don't you?
Nick: I know you have nothing but contempt for me, but what do you think this is gonna do to faith? I mean, we remodeled her room for her. All her things are gone.
Victor: They're at the main house. She can come and pick them up any time she wants to. That includes christian.
Nick: What makes you think I'm gonna let either one of them go anywhere near you?
Victor: You're her father, I'm the grandfather. You honestly want her to make a choice?
Nick: How do you think faith is not gonna feel like she's in the middle of this when I have to explain to her why we lost our home?
Victor: You've always been so damn good at justifying your actions, son. This is no different.
Nick: Well, I did learn at the feet of the master, didn't I?
Victor: You know what you really have been? A self-involved, selfish, ungrateful son. That's what you have been. Now you're gonna experience what real life is all about.
Nick: Oh, I know what it's like.
Victor: Oh, yeah?
Nick: At least your version of things, yeah. Yeah, you don't bow down and kiss the ring, this is what happens. You get rejected. You get told you're no longer part of your family. You have always resented that i wanted to go my own way.
Victor: I don't resent the fact that you want to go your own way. I never did. What I resented is your badmouthing me, backbiting me. You're no longer my son.
Nick: Well, all right. Thank you, then, for cutting the strings, victor.
Victor: Ungrateful.
Hilary: I understand why you're upset with me. I wish that my marriage to devon had worked out, too. Okay? I... I still love him. A lot.
Mattie: Past tense. My mom told me he's with someone else now.
Hilary: Well, you can -- you can still love someone, even if it's impossible to be with them. You know, just like your parents. Sweetie, I know that lily's --
Mattie: You have no right to bring up my parents. I'm not talking about this with you, hilary.
Hilary: I know that you're in pain, okay? Mattie, I know how close you were with your father. And I'm sure that it must have been awful when you realized how badly he screwed up.
Mattie: You're hardly one to judge.
Hilary: Despite what you think of me, I would never hurt you or your brother.
Mattie: If you mean that, then mind your own business. And keep my family's problems off your trashy tv show.
[ Cellphone chimes ] I have to go.
Cane: Thank you for coming, susan. I just want to let you know that landing a new job is my top priority, okay?
Susan: Look, before we get into this, full disclosure. Victoria newman's my client. I'm helping her find replacements for you and juliet.
Cane: I see. Okay.
Susan: Will my working with them be an issue for you?
Cane: Not as long as you work hard for me as you are victoria.
Susan: I assure you, I give all my clients equal attention. But I had to reveal the potential conflict.
Cane: No, I understand. Okay.
Susan: So, I've looked at the updated résumé you sent. Your accomplishments over the past year have been impressive.
Cane: Thank you. So, uh... tell me you have some good news for me.
Abby: My dad wants us to wait in here for the photographer.
Scott: Hey, whatever the big guy wants.
Abby: Did he ask you to shave your beard? You know, there's nothing like a silky-smooth face to kiss the boss' butt with.
Scott: Oh. You know, I didn't do it for victor. I -- I did it for sharon. Unlike you, I have a life outside this place.
Abby: I get out.
Scott: Oh, yeah. With zack? How's that going, by the way?
Abby: None of your business.
Scott: Hm.
Jordan: [ Knocks ] This the place?
Abby: Hey. Yes. Come on in.
Jordan: I, uh, hope I'm not late.
Abby: No, my dad is, actually. You're fine. Where's all your gear?
Jordan: Oh, it's, uh, outside.
Scott: Oh, hey. Scott grainger.
Jordan: Jordan wilde. Pleasure.
Scott: Yeah, same, man.
Abby: Jordan's the photographer that my dad hired. He, uh, works with lily on the dare campaign for brash & sassy.
Scott: Oh, yeah. I've seen a lot of your work, man. Nice job.
Jordan: Well, the camera sure does love lily.
[ Chuckles ]
Abby: Thank you for being such a good friend to her. Especially now.
Jordan: I hate to see her going through such a rough time. Lily doesn't deserve any of this.
Juliet: Club soda with lime, please. I didn't recognize you with the sunglasses and hat. I'll go sit somewhere else.
Lily: Yeah, I'd appreciate that.
Juliet: I'm sorry about you and cane. Him moving out.
Lily: How do you know about that?
Juliet: He told me when I ran into him the other day. I never wanted to break up your marriage. That was never my goal.
Lily: Yeah, well, it's a little late for that now.
Juliet: Cane made it clear that he would only provide financial support for the child. Although...
Lily: What? You know what, don't do that. After everything you put us through. Just say what you were gonna say.
Juliet: Cane seemed very... affected when I showed him a photo of the ultrasound.
Juliet: I know this is awkward and painful for you. Genoa city's a small town, lily. I'm not going to hide away in shame.
Charlie: Hey, mom. Are you okay? Why were you talking to juliet?
Lily: Wait, you know her?
Charlie: Uh, reed hellstrom told mattie and me who she was.
Lily: She could at least have the decency to not come to the pool when she knows my son is working here.
Charlie: Well [Sighs] If it helps, you know, I told her mattie and I don't want anything to do with her... or her baby.
Abby: Dad, hi. Where have you been?
Victor: Oh, my goodness. Everyone here.
Abby: [ Chuckles ]
Victor: I'll fill you in later.
Abby: Oh.
Victor: You must be jordan.
Jordan: Yes, I am.
Victor: Hilary has told me good things about you.
Jordan: I'm glad to hear it. I'll make sure you get exactly what you want, mr. Newman.
Victor: Oh, I will.
[ All chuckle ] Now, wait a minute.
Scott: Yeah.
Victor: You cut off your beard?
Scott: Yeah.
Victor: So you're taking your job seriously?
Scott: Eh.
Abby: Scott wants to grow a mustache just like you, dad.
Victor: Oh, yeah?
[ Laughs ]
Scott: Now, if anybody wants to be mini-me, you should probably look in the mirror. She's far better than I am at issuing orders and splashing the cash.
Victor: But from what I can surmise from the budget that you submitted for hashtag, you don't mind spending money yourself, do you?
Scott: I wanted our publication to be top quality. And I'm chasing a lead that'll give us more hits than the entire user base of design date.
Abby: Is that a challenge? Because if it is, bring it on.
Scott: It's on.
Abby: Mm.
Victor: Competition breeds success. Doesn't it, jordan?
Jordan: So I've heard, sir.
Victor: You bet. So, are you ready to shoot?
Jordan: Absolutely.
Victor: Let's get it on the road.
[ Camera shutter clicking ]
Jordan: Right. Good.
Scott: [ Sighs ]
Jordan: Okay, um... these are corporate headshots, not mug shots, so let's put a little smile into it. Have a little fun. Show the lighter side of the newman team.
Scott: Yeah.
Jordan: All right? All right?
Scott: All right.
[ Camera shutter clicks ]
Jordan: Okay, great.
Scott: "Hey, look at me. I got blond hair. I'm a super model."
Abby: Oh, yeah. You need some lipstick. Maybe like a coral color.
Scott: Yeah, coral's nice on me, actually. I'll do a little bikini show for you.
Abby: Maybe a lingerie company will hire you.
Victor: Now, now, now. Let's get serious for a moment. I don't have all day, here.
Jordan: Oh, great. Great. Keep it going.
Abby: [ Laughs ]
Jordan: These are looking great.
[ Camera shutter clicks ]
Victoria: Great, pat. Good. I'm really looking forward to it. Okay. See you then.
Billy: Who was that?
Victoria: Uh, that was our bank manager. We have a meeting scheduled later to discuss a bridge loan so we don't have to scale back on our r&D. How'd your meeting with the sales director go?
Billy: It was fine. I told him about the plan to roll out more product, and the fact that we'll be doing it soon.
Victoria: Oh, great. That's great. I'm glad that went well.
Billy: Actually, the more exhilarating conversation happened afterwards. I ran into ben hochman at the club.
Victoria: Oh. What'd you guys talk about?
Billy: You.
Victoria: Seriously?
Billy: Yeah. I didn't realize how close you two had gotten. Sharing tidbits about our divorce and the fact that I'm living with phyllis as you twirl around the dance floor.
Victoria: I mean, it's all true. It's not like it's some big secret.
Billy: Yeah, I just don't understand why you have to share that kind of information with this guy.
Victoria: Look, I honestly -- I didn't -- I didn't realize that I had.
Billy: Well, he seemed pretty informed, vick.
Victoria: It's common knowledge, billy. Why does it bother you so much?
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Cane: So, what you got for me?
Susan: Well, people are impressed by your experience. But I'll be frank, cane. They're having trouble understanding why you left brash & sassy without another job lined up.
Cane: Well, I resigned because victoria and I had a different vision for the company, which, you know... it's not uncommon.
Susan: I agree.
Cane: So, what? Is there a problem, or...?
Susan: Well, victoria newman's reputation for hiring only the best, as well as her strong loyalty to her colleagues leads people to wonder if you were fired. Or "forced to resign."
Cane: All right, look. If I can meet these hiring managers, I can show them I'm a strong executive with a track record for helping companies grow. I mean, look what I did at chancellor, jabot, and now brash & sassy.
Susan: They know all that, believe me. But because of victoria's name and high profile, they're leery of making a big investment. They're only willing to offer you lower-level positions at lesser salaries.
Cane: So even without victoria blackballing me, the newman influence is still too strong for me to overcome, huh?
Susan: I'm afraid so.
Cane: Okay.
Susan: I'll keep beating the bushes. But it might mean relocating.
Cane: No, that's not an option. Genoa city's my home. My wife works here. My kids have their friends here, and they love their school.
Susan: I feel for you, cane. I assure you, I won't give up. But you may have to settle for something that isn't exactly what you want.
Cane: [ Sighs ] And I can thank victoria newman for that, huh?
Billy: I find it strange that you would share that much information with a guy that you barely know.
Victoria: God, you know -- you see, right there. That's the heart of the matter.
Billy: What?
Victoria: That's it. You don't want me seeing benjamin -- or anyone. You -- you want me all to yourself. Yeah, that's what it is.
Billy: Whoa. Believe me --
Victoria: I'm sure that phyllis would have a little bit of a problem with that, don't you think?
Billy: I don't understand what you see in the guy, victoria, okay? You know his reputation as a corporate raider.
Victoria: You think that benjamin is just interested in my company? You don't think he has any interest in me as a woman whatsoever?
Billy: Don't twist my words. I didn't say that.
Victoria: Oh, I wasn't aware that that's what I was doing.
Billy: I don't want you to rush into something that I think that you're gonna end up regretting.
Victoria: Are you kidding me? I've had two dates with the guy. One, two. And you act like we're planning our wedding or something.
Billy: Well, the victoria newman that I know wouldn't give a guy like benjamin hochman the time of day, so it makes me think there's something else going on.
Reed: You sure it's cool I'm here? I don't want your parents going off on me. Been there too many times already.
Mattie: [ Chuckles ] Everyone's gone for the day. Charlie's at work. My mom texted me that she's spending time at the pool before going to the office, and my dad... well...
Reed: What? Wh-what? What happened?
Mattie: My mom kicked him out.
Reed: Oh, my god. Mattie, I'm -- I'm so sorry.
Mattie: Thanks.
Reed: If you don't mind my asking...
Mattie: All my mom would say is that she wanted time to herself to work things through.
Reed: That's rough. I'm sorry. You know, my parents split when I was young. I know how it feels. It... it sucks, big time.
Mattie: After all the garbage my dad pulled, I thought I'd be glad. Celebrating. But instead...
Reed: Come here.
[ Mattie sniffles, gulps ]
Chelsea: Why would victor do that?
Nick: Isn't it obvious? I mean, it's the next step in completely cutting me out of his life. This time it's down to the bare walls.
Chelsea: It's just so... so...
Nick: Vindictive? Is that the word you're looking for? You're right. I'm not even angry for myself. I should've left the ranch years ago. But I'm concerned what this is gonna do to faith. I mean, this is her home. It's where she's supposed to grow up.
Chelsea: Her new bedroom.
Nick: Yeah, dad moved that entire setup up to his place.
Chelsea: He seriously did that?
Nick: Yeah. Our family's been through so much. I mean, all the bad publicity. I don't want to add anything more to it.
Chelsea: Okay. You know what we're gonna do? This is what we're gonna do. When you get a new place, we will create an exact replica of what we just finished. Faith's new room. And we'll get her input this time. It'll make her feel good to be included, show her that we respect her ideas.
Nick: Yeah. Faith'll love that. And while we're at it, you know, we could redo christian's room. He is definitely outgrowing that nursery.
Chelsea: Okay. We can do that. Where is he, by the way?
Nick: I dropped him and the nanny off at the park. He is not gonna spend one more second at that ranch.
Chelsea: Well, you always could have brought him here. Connor and christian love spending time together.
Nick: That's a great idea. It's amazing how close they are. I mean, I know they're really young, but from the beginning, they've always had this bond.
Chelsea: Yeah. Yeah. And I love -- I love how well our sons get along. It's really, really special. I mean, connor, he -- he always gets upset when christian leaves.
Nick: Well, so do I. You know, when I leave you.
Chelsea: I miss you, too, when you're gone.
Nick: Yeah?
Chelsea: Yeah.
Nick: Well, maybe...
Chelsea: Oh.
Nick: ...There is something we can do to change that.
Hilary: I hope I'm not chasing you away.
Lily: [ Sighs ] No. Not at all. Oh, I actually wanted to congratulate you on getting that commercial. It took a lot of talent, stabbing me in the back.
Hilary: Dozens of women auditioned, lily, okay? It's not like I took the job from you. It wasn't yours to begin with.
Lily: Right. You just couldn't help yourself, could you? You generously allow jordan and me to use your studio to tape my audition, and then you tape yourself, you secretly send it in, and voilà! You get the commercial. It just would kill you to let anything positive happen to me, wouldn't it?
Hilary: I don't have time for this, okay? All I wanted was a little bit of time to relax before my flight to new york for my commercial tomorrow.
Lily: You know, you're on both coasts so often, why don't you just pick one and move there? And that way, I don't have to deal with you.
Hilary: Well, you're particularly snarky today. It's not just the commercial.
Lily: If you hadn't encouraged juliet to file that lawsuit, then my world wouldn't be crashing down. That's what you wanted, right? To watch me suffer?
Hilary: That is not true.
Lily: Yeah. Can moved out. Another woman pregnant with his baby. I'm the breadwinner for my family now. His professional reputation is ruined.
Hilary: And none of that is my fault. Cane is the one who cheated on you and then lied about it. You should be thanking me for helping you realize the truth about him.
Lily: You're a vile woman. And why jordan puts up with you, I don't know.
Reed: Hey, I'm sorry.
Mattie: For what?
Reed: I told you that you might be one of the lucky ones, and made you think this wouldn't happen to your parents.
Mattie: Don't take this on yourself. My mom did what she had to do. It was the right thing. For all of us.
Reed: You know, I... I've got some tunes on my phone. Um, real, like, bummer, pit-of-despair sort of things.
Mattie: [ Laughs ] It sounds so uplifting.
Reed: Yeah, well, they're the tunes that I listen to when I'm having a rough time. And, I-I mean, they're definitely not sappy. But...they make me feel better. Do you want to listen to them?
Mattie: Sure.
Jordan: Oh, scott. Nice meeting you, man.
Scott: Yeah, you too.
Jordan: I have to go make my rounds and get the photos of the other execs.
Scott: No problem, man. I hope, uh, abby's and my goofing around in there didn't put you behind schedule.
Jordan: No worries at all. It was great. That's why I encouraged you guys to go for it. And mr. Newman, he enjoys seeing the chemistry between you two.
Scott: Whoa, whoa, whoa. "Chemistry"? I don't think so. Abby and I loathe each other.
Jordan: Well, it didn't look like it to me. Here, check it out.
Scott: [ Sighs ]
Jordan: All right. Look at those sparks right there.
Scott: [ Scoffs ]
Jordan: You may not believe me, but the camera doesn't lie.
Scott: No way in hell, man. Abby newman and I are the exact opposite.
Jordan: I don't know.
Scott: She's about as far away from my type as possible.
Jordan: [ Laughs ]
Abby: The sign-up rate is fierce, and it shows no sign of slowing down.
Victor: That's good to hear, sweetheart. Keep it up.
Abby: Okay. Out with it. You're not really listening. You seem really distracted. Does it have anything to do with why you were late for the photo session?
Victor: As of today... your brother nicholas will no longer live on my property.
Abby: I'm shocked. [ Sighs ] Although I-I guess I shouldn't be. Um... you know what, dad, um, when you and nikki, when you patch things up, maybe you and nick can...
[ Glass thuds ]
Victor: Not gonna happen. Your brother has shown nothing but disdain for his father. I have no choice but to cut him out of my life.
Abby: Dad, every time you say that, it just makes me so sad.
Victor: Sorry. A lot of people who love me. You.
Abby: Always.
Victor: Thank you. And that's why I've made a decision that will affect you.
Victor: Now, I know that you must have had some lonely moments since your ex moved out.
Abby: I'm fine. You know, I've been so busy i hardly have time to think about it.
Victor: Don't pretend with me, my sweetheart, okay? You know I love you a lot.
Abby: I love you, too
Victor: And I'd like to see more of you.
Abby: I'd like that, too.
[ Laughs ]
Victor: Well, I had this made for you.
Abby: A key. To what?
Victor: For the tack house. I want you to move in.
Nick: You know, I just love waking up in the morning and seeing your beautiful face on the pillow next to mine. I love spending our days together.
[ Smooches ] Talking about what we did. Sharing our dreams. And you laugh at all my terrible jokes.
Chelsea: [ Laughs ] I like your terrible jokes.
Nick: I haven't been this happy in a long time.
Chelsea: Me neither.
Nick: I told you, family is more than just blood.
Chelsea: It's about who you love.
Nick: I am definitely in love with you.
[ Sighs ] I can't really find a reason as to why we shouldn't take the next step. You know, the next step forward for us. Why don't we move in together?
Hilary: Do you want your life to go back to the way that it was?
Lily: [ Sighs ] Of course I do.
Hilary: Good. Then just forgive cane and let him move back home.
Lily: Are you really giving me marital advice?
Hilary: I ran into mattie earlier. And it's obvious that the drama in your marriage is... it's very tough on her.
Lily: How dare you bring up my kids to me?
Hilary: You just need to know what's going on, okay? That's all. Mattie used to be a sweet and a happy girl, and now she's -- she's cold and hard.
Lily: No, she is still that girl. She just sees right through your act. And don't even try and pretend like you were some sort of doting aunt. Oh, and I forgot -- grandmother.
Hilary: [ Scoffs ]
Lily: You know, maybe you're just worried because jordan is spending more time with me now that cane moved out.
Hilary: This is about you and your family, okay? Jordan and I are fine.
Lily: You're fine? Really? I wouldn't be too sure about that.
Victoria: I need to get to my meeting.
Billy: Look, I'm sorry if it feels like I'm attacking you, okay, it just seems like you're defensive towards me lately.
Victoria: You know, the reason I am being defensive is because we've had this conversation. You made your choice. You chose phyllis. So why don't you focus your attention on her and don't judge me? You want to voice in your opinion about the company or about the kids, voice your opinion. Aside from that, stay the hell out of my life, billy.
Billy: Vick --
Reed: So, what'd you think?
Mattie: Weirdly enough, I do feel better.
Reed: Well, I'm glad. It helps sometimes to hear that you're not the only one struggling.
Mattie: Definitely. Except for one thing.
Reed: What?
Mattie: None of your songs were on there.
Reed: Oh, come on. You don't have to say that. I definitely don't think any of my music stands toe-to-toe with lou reed or alice in chains.
Mattie: Excuse me? Yeah, it does. You're super talented, reed. I mean that. Listening to you play at the underground, that's what makes me feel better. Oh, my god. Could I sound any lamer?
Reed: Come on. You don't sound lame. But you know who does sound lame?
Mattie: Who?
Reed: [ Inhales sharply ] Me. You make me feel really happy. And I just said that.
[ Both laugh ]
Next on "the young and the restless"...
Mariah: Something is wrong. If we are truly best friends, you need to talk to me.
Billy: We have to put the dare campaign on hold as of right now.
Lily: Why?
Nick: I kind of think we're ready for the next step. Don't you?
