Episode # 11218 ~ Nikki embraces her new life; Abby makes a shocking discovery; Ravi confesses to Ashley.

Provided By Suzanne

Mariah: My first stalker.

Tessa: Well, sorry, but, uh, hang in.

Mariah: My first stalker.

Tessa: Well, sorry, but, uh, hang in. It'll happen.

Mariah: The life of being a second banana.

Tessa: So, uh, do you feel better about things?

Mariah: Uh, yeah. I think so. Devon and I talked.

Tessa: And how'd it go?

Mariah: Really well. Um, what about you? How was your breakfast with Noah?

Tessa: Oh, it was fine. But I wasn't the one who was upset last night. Did you tell Devon how you feel?

Mariah: I did. And I was your basic pathetic, needy female.

Tessa: Well, do you think he still has a thing for Hilary, or...?

Mariah: He said he was over it, and I believed him. He wants me and not her.

Tessa: Well, what bright guy wouldn't? I mean, this is what you want, right? So you can breathe again.

Victor: You had a problem with me, didn't you, son? Did you come to me? No. You used your mother who practiced so hard for this concert. You set out to destroy this event!

Nick: Mom was the only person I was thinking about because I was protecting her from you! You couldn't see what you were doing to her because you were so focused on getting what you wanted. Mom dared to tell the great victor Newman what she thought of him. You're arrogant and heartless!

Victor: [Grunts]

Howard: [Laughs] Pow! Right on nick Newman's face! Oh, I've been in this business a long time. Doesn't get any better than that. Okay, okay, okay. I know, I know. Victor might get a bit testy when he sees this footage go viral on every device in the known universe.

Hilary: "A bit"?

Howard: We didn't do anything shady! The man gave us access.

Hilary: To do an inspirational story on the Newman family raising money for M.S., Not a battle royale in the parking garage. Victor had no idea that we were hunkered down secretly recording this.

Howard: [Sighs] You're killing me here, okay? Don't grow a conscience now. This is ratings gold!

Hilary: I get it. One of the most powerful businessmen on earth excommunicating his son. It's -- it's huge, okay? But we can't release it.

Howard: What?

Hilary: Final decision. I don't want victor as an enemy.

Howard: [Scoffs]

[Cell phone rings]

Hilary: [Sighs] It's victor.

[Door closes]

Nick: Mom? I just wanted to come and, uh, see how you were doing.

Nikki: How do you think I am after what I learned, after what I witnessed between you and your father?

Nick: I couldn't do it any longer, okay? I stood there and I played the dutiful son. But dad just, you know, had to stop me in the garage with a punch to the face.

Nikki: After you tried to sabotage my concert!

Nick: I was worried about your health. I did that to protect you and this family.

Nikki: Oh, my god! Are you hearing yourself?! If I closed my eyes, I'd swear it was your father!

Ashley: I know Stephane from my time in Paris. I was doing research on essential oils, and he knows all the best sources for bergamot.

Ravi: That's from an orange, right?

Ashley: Yeah, it leaves a really lovely, citrus-y top note.

Ravi: Cool. Well, how can I help?

Ashley: Well, Stephane is now working out of new York as an importer, and he wants to create an interactive website, and I told him how great you were for jabot's online presence, so I was hoping maybe he could come here and pick your brain a little bit. What do you think?

Ravi: Yeah, it'd be my pleasure.

Ashley: Oh, he just texted me. He's gonna be a few minutes late, which is actually very good because I wanted to ask you about what happened last night, your concerns.

Ravi: Regarding Dina?

Ashley: Yeah. You said that, um, she referred to jack as graham? Like, how many times did that happen?

Ravi: Once or twice.

Ashley: And she was confused?

Ravi: Merely an observation based on a couple of small isolated incidents.

Ashley: Well, she is getting older, but if it's something more, I need to stay on top of it, right? You were able to pick up on details that jack and I completely missed, so thank you. I'm just not sure what any of it means.

Jack: Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm playing it too safe. After all, you never let a little thing like a man being married stop you from getting what you wanted. Oh. Oh, jack, I'm -- I'm so -- so sorry. I didn't mean -- but it was what you said. It -- it was so rude.

Jack: It was rude. It was the second time I was rude to you in the last 24 hours. I honestly came here to say I was sorry for leaving you at the party.

Dina: Well, it was so disrespectful, abandoning me so that you could run off with Nikki Newman.

Jack: It's a terrible thing, isn't it? That feeling of abandonment.

Dina: Yes, it is. And that was meant to sting. And it did. Are you happy now? (Vo) dogs have evolved,

Ravi: Is Dina more of a morning person or does she stay up late?

Ashley: I don't even know. Why?

Ravi: Oh, she'd had a couple drinks. If she was up past her bedtime, it could explain things.

Ashley: I don't want to dismiss what you observed, and I don't want to rationalize it away. I think I need to spend time with her, right? I need to observe her behavior and just be with her one on one.

Ravi: Dina just sold her company. She's far from her home living in a hotel. For someone that's getting up there in age, that's a lot of change.

Ashley: Look how she glommed on to graham, like he's her security blanket. Why else would she have made him such a huge part of her life? Maybe because her own children don't really know her at all.

Jack: Look, I apologize. I-I shouldn't have gone there.

Dina: Unless you were trying to be cruel.

Jack: Even though I knew Ashley would eventually get you home, I-I should have told you that I was leaving.

Dina: Oh, and pass up that opportunity to run off with victor's wife?

Jack: [Sighs]

Dina: I don't like what's happening, jack.

Jack: I'm not going to avoid Nikki just to appease the tyrant she's living with.

Dina: Well, I'm only warning you because I care. And I-I don't want you to make the same mistakes I did.

Jack: Mother, she and I have lots of history. We were married at one time, remember?

Dina: Yes, I do remember. But if it didn't work then, why do you think it would work now?

Jack: I am not making a play for Nikki. I am trying to help a friend in a moment of crisis.

Dina: Mm-hmm. Well, spin it however you like. Victor isn't going to buy that. And you damn well know it.

Hilary: Yeah, I, uh, I-I totally understand. Yes. Okay. Thank you, victor. [Sighs]

Howard: That bad, huh?

Hilary: "Air as much of that material as you see fit."

Howard: Wait a second. A minute ago you just told me --

Hilary: That was a direct quote from victor.

Howard: Newman?

Hilary: Yeah. He said we could run with it, all of it.

Howard: Are you certain the man gave you permission? But that was just over the phone. I mean, what if he's trying to set you up or...?

Hilary: He said he would put it in writing.

Howard: Well, I'd be a lot more comfortable if he did.

Hilary: He assured me that his word is good.

Howard: Okay, well, did you at least record the conversation?

Hilary: "What you captured is the truth. And I have nothing to hide."

Howard: Another victor Newman quote?

Hilary: He just told me that. Just now.

Howard: Well, you seem stunned.

Hilary: I am speechless.

Howard: Well, don't be. You have a story to air. Let's run with it.

Hilary: [Sighs]

Mariah: Devon is an amazing guy, and he treats me like gold.

Tessa: And those are the ones you have to hang on to.

Mariah: Exactly. Now it's your turn. How are things going with Noah?

Tessa: You know, they're weird in a good way.

Mariah: What do you mean?

Tessa: He said he wanted to take things slow, so I did, and now he's even more interested.

Mariah: See, those are exactly the type of games that Hilary excels at that I just can't play.

Tessa: Hey, stop comparing yourself to her.

Mariah: I'm sorry. I didn't even realize I --

Tessa: I know. Just quit. Now.

Mariah: Fine, fine. I just hate jerking people around.

Tessa: And that's one of your best qualities.

Mariah: I didn't mean to make it sound like that's what Noah's doing. He's not. He's just being a guy. And I think when you were so cool with pulling back and you also mirrored him by doing it, as well, I think it made him feel safe, sort of like "the cage door is open" sort of thing, and now he feels comfortable with moving the relationship forward. Maybe even a little faster than you're comfortable with.

Tessa: Well, you should be a dating coach or something. I mean, seriously, everything you said makes perfect sense.

Mariah: Well...

Tessa: I still can't believe he's interested in me.

Mariah: Why would you even say that? You're super gorgeous, talented, confident to boot.

Tessa: Well, only in front of a room full of strangers on a stage. I've never been with someone like Noah who talks about what's really going on with him. It's cool and scary at the same time. Just being honest with each other and letting myself be vulnerable.

Mariah: It's nice to have something real. I'm really happy for you, Tessa.

Tessa: I'm really happy for you, too.

Mariah: Thank you again, by the way, for last night, for letting me cry and stuff. I don't usually get that weepy over a guy.

Tessa: Well, it's just because you really care about him.

Mariah: I'm afraid if I let myself fall for Devon, I'm gonna get hurt.

Tessa: Well, that's normal, I think.

Mariah: What is normal?

Tessa: Don't ask me.

Mariah: I just want so badly for it to work with him.

Tessa: Well, then it will. If you want something bad enough, you'll find a way. So, here's to two friends making it work.

Mariah: [Chuckles] Cheers.

Tessa: Yeah.

Victor: Hi, my boy.

Noah: Grandpa! This is a surprise. Hey, if you're looking for dad, um, he'll be back in a few minutes.

Victor: No, actually, I came to see you. I wanted to thank you for finding a new soundboard.

Noah: Hey, you mind if I ask? Uh, what's going on with you and dad? I'm -- I'm a little vague on the details, but it seems like you guys are having some problems.

Victor: Let me put it this way. I, um, I'm very grateful that you saved your grandmother's concert, all right? You solved a problem that your father created.

Noah: [Chuckles] What -- what problem did my dad create?

Victor: He ruined the soundboard by pouring soda all over it. He wanted to sabotage your grandmother's concert. I thought you might have known about this.

Nikki: I still can't believe it. What you did is so unlike you.

Nick: Look, I saw you after the concert. My worry was justified. So were my actions.

Nikki: And to hell with what I wanted? That's the same kind of logic your father uses when he's trying to play god with other people's lives.

Nick: You think I wanted it to come to this, mom? I saw what was happening between you and dad. I had to do something. I didn't like what this concert was doing to you. I knew how determined you were to go through with it.

Nikki: I can understand why it seemed that way.

Nick: It's over now, all right? The concert's done. We don't have to lie anymore.

Nikki: Is that the real reason why you tried to derail things?

Nick: What do you mean?

Nikki: You've been very upset the last few months.

Nick: Mom --

Nikki: Maybe you thought if you just kept that pot stirred, we would eventually all come around to your way of thinking.

Nick: No, you're wrong about that.

Nikki: Well, I'm gonna have to think about that, because you were very clear about how upset and concerned you were about me mentally and physically, about this concert, that it could exacerbate my M.S. But you put as much pressure on me in your own way as your father did.

Jack: Look, my biggest regret is that helping Nikki came at your expense. I... I had a good time last night. I-I wish we could do that again sometime, just the two of us.

Dina: I'd like that.

Jack: Good.

Dina: And I promise you, I won't bar the door because you lobbed a few zingers at me. I'm a lot tougher than that.

Jack: Yeah, that much I got.

Dina: [Chuckles]

Jack: Look, I know sometimes it sounds like I'm being selfish, and... I don't know. Maybe I am. But I-I've got some pretty strong self-protective skills that I developed at a young age. I'm desperately trying to hold on to what I have, not what I lost as a kid. Come on...

Ashley: Thank you. Stephane just praised you to the skies for all your terrific input.

Ravi: Oh, he asked all the right questions. It was easy.

Ashley: You've helped me a lot today on a couple different levels.

Ravi: I like your plan to spend more time with Dina, you know, get to know her, see what's normal, what's not.

Ashley: I told you what Traci said, about the last time she was here, that my mother seemed different to her. She does seem different, but then, I mean, don't we all?

Ravi: People change. It's inevitable.

Ashley: Right. When I think back about that family dinner party and then the way that Dina remembered that song that she sang to jack when he was little, very out of character because she got very teary-eyed. My mother has the emotional range of like chilly to stone cold.

Ravi: I've actually known her to be pretty warm. She's got a wicked sense of humor.

Ashley: Well, you know what? I wasn't exactly very welcoming when she came into town initially, and maybe my change of attitude has completely thrown her. Who knows?

Ravi: Anything's possible.

Ashley: Thank you so much for feeling comfortable enough to bring this to my attention. I'm sure there's a very rational explanation for my mother's behavior. It's just that we are in completely unfamiliar territory.

Nick: Look, the last thing I wanted to do was to make things harder for you.

Nikki: Son, I need you to listen to me. See what all this rage is doing to the whole family.

Nick: How are you feeling now?

Nikki: Amazingly, the pain has pretty much subsided. Oh, that night away really worked wonders for me.

Nick: Where'd you go?

Nikki: I was with jack at his family's cabin.

Nick: Hmm. I know he's been real worried about you, too.

Nikki: He's been a wonderful friend when I needed one.

Nick: Well, now that you're home, are you gonna try and patch things up with dad?

Nikki: No. Nothing has changed there. And, of course, that's not what your father wanted to hear. He said "good riddance" and stormed out of here. What? You have no comment? I thought you would be thrilled about that.

Nick: Look, no matter what dad has done, this can't be easy for you.

Nikki: Well, he made it clear that he is through trying to win me back, and he is sick of the pretending, and, frankly, so am I. So as of today, my focus is going to be on me, on my life, on my passions, what makes me happy.

Nick: Good for you, mom.

Nikki: I love you.

Nick: I love you, too.

Nikki: Let's not do this again.

Nick: Okay.

Dina: Oh, it's so wonderful to see you, darling. Would you like some tea? I could have some sent up.

Abby: That's okay. I'm good.

Dina: All right. I, uh, really liked your new beau last night.

Abby: Oh, like I told you, Zack is just a colleague, and last night was his first full Newman experience. Hopefully he's still talking to me.

[Both chuckle]

Dina: Well, I thought the event went rather well.

Abby: Yeah, uh, not totally.

Dina: Oh?

Abby: Dad and nick got into it behind the scenes.

Dina: You mean they argued?

Abby: Worse.

Dina: Oh, dear.

Abby: Yeah, and then I tried to ask Victoria what had happened, and she totally dismissed me. And then I did the mature thing, and I threw a drink in her face.

Dina: You did? [Clicking tongue] Good for you. Touché.

[Both laugh]

Abby: Seriously?

Dina: Oh, well, yes. And don't you take crap from anyone, dear. Words to live by.

Abby: Oh, well, thank you for the support, but I don't feel great about what I did. I'm just happy that Victoria's okay.

Dina: Well, I'm not so sure what that means.

Abby: The drink, it splashed in her face, and it caught her off guard. It made her stumble and fall. And, well, she could have really hurt herself.

Dina: Yes, but she didn't. What she should have done was to show you more respect. I mean, look what you did for her mother. You put on this fabulous event, and you even made the Newmans look respectable.

Abby: Well, don't forget I am a Newman, too.

Dina: Well, yes, but I still think of you as an Abbott. Even though I realize at times that puts you in an impossible position.

Ashley: Well, you were so hell-bent on excluding graham, so --

Jack: For the last time, I would not have left the party unless it were important.

Ashley: Well, if Nikki had to leave, why didn't she just get a limousine?

Jack: 'Cause Nikki needed me.

Ashley: [Sighs]

Jack: And not for the reason you are thinking.

Ashley: Hmm. Well, just so you know, I ran into victor earlier.

Jack: With your car, I hope.

Ashley: Very funny. I mentioned to him that you left with Nikki, and I got the distinct impression he had no idea.

Jack: Okay, since you won't let this go, Nikki and I spent the evening at the cabin. Now, could we please drop this? I'm glad you got mother home. I'm glad you could be trusted.

Ashley: Okay. Well, you should actually thank Ravi for that, because he spent most of the time with her. And then afterwards, he said something that was a little concerning.

Jack: What was that?

Ashley: He said that once you disappeared, mother seemed very upset and confused.

Jack: Confused?

Ashley: His word. Have you noticed anything out of character for her lately?

Jack: Yeah. I've noticed she's got one hell of a right hook. Powerful clean! Powerful clean!

Jack: I went there to apologize. I wound up getting my face slapped.

Ashley: Well, no wonder. After that comment, I would have slapped you myself.

Jack: Okay, I agree it was perhaps a bit tactless, but for her to lash out like that physically? That was out of character. Wouldn't you say?

Ashley: Well, you know what, Jackie? I realize after talking with Ravi, I don't even know her well enough to say. So I suggest that you and I keep an eye on her, and if we see something that's worrisome, then we address it then.

Jack: Well, how about a hint? Confusion is kind of a broad territory. What are we looking for?

Ashley: It could be something. It could be nothing. I don't want to say anything that influences you one way or another. And seriously, it's not like we could just call her on the phone and say, "hey, mom, what's going on with you, anyway?"

Jack: If she knew, she'd be too proud and stubborn to tell us.

Ashley: Hmm. Well, I guess that's another role that graham fills in her life, right? Somebody that she can confide in in a moment's notice.

Jack: It isn't like we couldn't be that.

Ashley: Come on.

Jack: Look, I am not proud that I have hung on to these childhood resentments or the embarrassing way in which they come out.

Ashley: Well, I do think it's healthier in the long run that you're expressing your feelings, even if you do get a love tap once in a while.

Jack: Mother made very clear her feelings about Nikki and me, how unseemly she found our friendship. But then I guess you agree for different reasons.

Ashley: Gee, jack, if Nikki makes you happy, who am I to judge?

Jack: You always have.

Howard: Victor really said all that?

Hilary: Yeah. And believe me, I was blown away, too. But you know the old saying, right?

Howard: Hmm?

Hilary: Never look a gift-billionaire in the mouth.

Howard: Very good point. [Clears throat]

Nikki: What is going on?

Victor: Your son nearly ruined your concert.

Nikki: What are you talking about?

Nick: I shorted out the soundboard. I hated seeing what this was doing to you. I didn't want to see you harm yourself anymore.

Nikki: How dare you.

Howard: What?

Mariah: You're not gonna air that.

Hilary: Why not?

Mariah: [Scoffs] I guess you didn't hear anything I said to you about not wanting victor as an enemy.

Hilary: Well, victor called, and he gave me permission to use the material, all of it, however I choose.

Mariah: Okay, why -- why would victor Newman want us to run footage that makes his family look bad?

Howard: Who cares what his motives are?

Hilary: Exactly. I'm just thrilled that I'm able to use the material without fear of reprisal, without self-righteous people like you and Devon accusing me of being a bottom feeder.

Mariah: Devon is done with you.

Hilary: Is that so?

Mariah: He doesn't care anymore. So you can stop throwing yourself at him like you did at the party.

Hilary: Insecure much?

Mariah: Hilary, you're just embarrassing yourself.

Hilary: [Scoffs] I think you have that backwards, sweetie, because Devon can't keep his eyes off of me. And I think that's what's driving you nuts.

Noah: That doesn't make any sense. Why would dad do that? Why would he vandalize the board?

Victor: When he, uh, found out about Nikki's flare-up of her multiple sclerosis, he should have come to me. Instead he took matters in his own hand. You know, I guess he wanted to punish me for not being more attuned to my wife's condition.

Nick: Why are you here?

Victor: I'm here to see my grandson.

Noah: All right, look, I know you guys are having some problems, all right? But you're still family. It doesn't just affect you. Can we not get into a huge fight here?

Victor: You don't worry about that, Noah. Don't worry about a thing, okay? Your father and I will have a conversation. So you grab a cup of coffee, okay?

Noah: Try not to kill each other.

Victor: All right.

Nick: You need to leave my son out of this.

Dina: I can see how frustrated you are, being the go-between your two families who aren't getting along.

Abby: Thank you for letting me vent.

Dina: Well, of course. Now, can I give you a little advice?

Abby: Yes, please. I'd love it.

Dina: [Chuckles] Having a foot in both worlds gives you a unique perspective. And you will learn things about the Abbotts and the Newmans that no one else will.

Abby: Which gives me an advantage.

Dina: Big time. It's not a handicap. It's an opportunity, dear.

Abby: Oh, wow. I never thought of it that way before. [Chuckles] Thank you, Grandma.

Dina: Ah!

Abby: I'm sorry. Um, thank you, Dina.

Dina: Much better.

Abby: I love talking to you.

Dina: Me, too.

Abby: You're so supportive, and you don't ignore me and tell me to shut up and stop complaining. You really see things from my point of view.

Dina: Well, I want to give you my wisdom and my objectivity. And that's something your parents cannot do. I love you.

Abby: I love you.

Dina: [Chuckles]

Noah: So, I just left my dad and my grandfather at the underground, and, man, things were getting tense, so I was glad to get out of there.

Tessa: That sounds rough.

Noah: Ah, you know, just life with the fam. Grandpa had a pretty grim childhood, so he can be kind of tough on his kids. And he puts so much pressure on my dad that eventually he just had to quit Newman, walk away, started his own business. And when it comes to his kids, he does his best to be exactly the opposite from my grandfather.

Tessa: Families can be complicated.

Noah: You're telling me. I mean, it's like this benefit, right? This was supposed to be a good thing. It was supposed to be something everybody could come together, rally behind. But it seems like it just brought out the worst in my dad.

Victor: You realize it's your fault that Noah was dragged into this, don't you? Because of your shenanigans backstage?

Nick: You told him. Of course you did.

Victor: He's a smart, young man. Shouldn't be wasting his time in this dive.

Nick: I'm not gonna rehash that with you, all right? Noah made his choice. So has mom. Apparently she's not putting up with your crap anymore.

Victor: You and your mother made your positions very, very clear. You say that you've forgiven me for my sins. Do you know how often I've forgiven you for yours? I've been too forgiving.

Nikki: So, if victor thought I was gonna go running back to him, he now knows that that's not going to happen, and I have you to thank for giving me the strength to move on and live life on my own terms.

Jack: Yeah, how's that feel so far?

Nikki: Oh, jack, I just feel so free, and it's been a very long time since I've felt this way.

Jack: Wow. Listen to you. You sound like the Nikki I met all those years ago when we were still practically kids, all full of the devil and fired up.

Nikki: That's right. Watch out, world.

Jack: [Laughs] If my whisking you out of that party had any part in this transformation, I want full credit.

Nikki: Well, please, take it.

Jack: God, seeing you this strong and this happy, this in control, almost worth getting slapped by Dina.

Nikki: What?

Jack: Yes, my mother was scandalized upon hearing that I had spent the night with victor Newman's wife.

Nikki: Oh, my god. You're kidding. [Laughing] Oh, my god. I am just trying to imagine Dina Mergeron scandalized about anything.

Jack: It is so good to see you laugh. And for what it's worth, I assured her nothing inappropriate happened at the cabin.

Nikki: Oh, well, that's good. Hey, look, victor walked out on me, and I couldn't care less what people think.

Jack: You sure about that?

Nikki: Yeah, I'm pretty sure.

Ravi: Excellent. E-mail me the stats. I'll input them ASAP. Thanks.

Ashley: Hey.

Ravi: Hey.

Ashley: I wanted to let you know I spoke to jack about Dina.

Ravi: That's great. What'd he say?

Ashley: He was a little preoccupied by being slapped by her earlier.

Ravi: What?! Why? H-how?

Ashley: You know, I think jack and I still revert to rebellious teenagers whenever we're around our mother, something about all these wounds that get reopened. I guess he gave her some attitude, and apparently she gave it right back.

Ravi: My gosh.

Ashley: But in jack's defense, I don't think it's completely his fault. You know, my mother, she always expects people to fall into line. That's the way it's always been with her.

Ravi: Okay, but have you ever known her to react that way physically with people who didn't?

Ashley: No, I've never known her to be physically violent. I mean, that is just -- it's just not her.

Ravi: [Sighs] People change. Just keep an eye on her. Something's going on with your mother. I believe you'll see it.

Dina: Well, I've got a lot of cash on hand after selling my company. And I've been doing some research, and I want to make a major investment in the biotech sector. That's right. No bonds. Unh-unh. All in stocks. Well, I realize it's aggressive, but -- now, you listen to me. I know what I want and how I want my portfolio structured. Yes, I'm sure! Do I need to remind you who you are dealing with?

Hilary: You know, if you can't hold the man's interest, it's not my problem.

Mariah: Devon is with me now. How many times do I have to say it? He could have had any woman in the whole world, but he chose me.

Hilary: And it's obvious why. You two are pals.

Mariah: Oh, come on. Grow up, Hilary. We are so much more than that.

Hilary: What I was trying to say was a man in Devon's position, he has to worry about gold diggers, okay? But he knows that he can trust you. That's all it will ever be, because the passion that he and I shared, the chemistry between the two of us, it is once in a lifetime. And you can see it by the way he undresses me with his eyes.

Mariah: Get over yourself, Hilary. Devon is done with you. And FYI -- our sex life, it's hot as hell.

Hilary: How nice for you. You know, I had a close encounter with the man myself recently. Just the two of us being completely honest with each other. You could say that we were naked. Emotionally speaking, of course. But it was in that moment that Devon made it achingly clear that he still wants me. And I want him.

Mariah: You know, every time you try to bait me like this, you just look pitiful.

Hilary: I wasn't --

Mariah: Devon is committed to me now. So deal with it. [Sighs]

Noah: So I could tell that my grandfather wasn't exactly himself. It's like he came by to make sure we still had a relationship.

Tessa: Do you?

Noah: I mean, even though we don't get along that great, I know that he -- he means well in his own way. It's like he hates that I'm a bartender for my dad. I mean, really hates it. Never misses an opportunity to put it down. But it's not like he's putting me down, you know. He just wants me to realize my full potential. He's always telling me how smart I am, that I should follow my dreams.

Tessa: Well, so what are they? Your dreams?

Noah: [Scoffs]

Tessa: What?

Noah: Nothing. It's just, um, so few people really ask me that.

Tessa: I'm asking.

Noah: Okay. So, uh, I want to open up a chain of undergrounds, where we focus on small towns, college cities, places where there's not a whole lot of live music.

Tessa: I dig it. And, uh, of course I would be happy to perform at every location.

Noah: Well, then we'd definitely be a success.

Tessa: So, when you say "we," would you be working with victor or your dad?

Noah: No, my grandpa and I -- no. Like, even though things are a little better, I just could never work for the man. And you know what?

Tessa: [Chuckles]

Noah: I want my dad and me to build something together.

Tessa: Well, you think you can do it?

Noah: Yeah. Yeah, I do.

Victor: I forgave you for going to the feds accusing me of commercial bribery. I forgave you for suing me for the trust fund, your trust fund worth $500 million that I worked very hard to create! You have betrayed me over and over, and I've let it go.

Nick: You never let anything go, ever.

Victor: You, your mother, your sister all accused me of exercising too much control or being obsessed with wealth and power. You're living off all that wealth and power! Has that ever occurred to you?!

Nick: You don't have to tell me who I am. I already know that. I know what my priorities are. I have built strong relationships with my children. I would never let them deteriorate the way you have. So all that money and power and notoriety, it's all yours. Keep them.

Victor: I told you last night you're no longer my son. We'll see how far that will get you. See how that feels. By the time you realize it... it'll be too late, son.

Abby: Seriously? What do you think you're doing?

Nikki: Hey, Abby! I was just thanking jack for his support and his very generous donation to the new research team.

Abby: Oh, really? Is that how you usually thank people?

Nikki: Oh, when the spirit moves me. I'll speak with you soon.

Jack: I'm counting on it.

Nikki: And, Abby, thank you so much for organizing the benefit. It was just beautiful.

Jack: Don't look at me that way. Victor walked out on her. If you have any issues with the way your stepmother is conducting her life, take it up with Mr. Mumbles.

Abby: No. I'm talking to you.

Next, on "The Young and the Restless" --

Hilary: Victor packs quite a punch.

Howard: Everybody's definitely staying tuned through the commercial break to see what happens after that.

Lily: We're going to stick together as a family.

Neil: Does this family include Cane?

Jack: That sounds like a threat, Abby.

Abby: Don't make me choose.
