Episode # 11216 ~ Kevin & Chloe face off against Victor; Nikki crosses the line; Victoria hides her pain.
Provided By Suzanne
Nikki: Oh! Jack, I'm sorry. I... I shouldn't have done that.Victor: You get a hold of yourself. How the hell did Kevin know where to find Chloe?
Dr. Harris: She ignored my orders. She slipped him a note at her fake funeral in Genoa city. Then she gave him my address in Louisiana.
Victor: And just like that, he showed up at your door?
Dr. Harris: Yes, demanding to stay with us. I didn't know what to do.
Victor: Are you serious? You just let him in like this?
Dr. Harris: Kevin assured me he only wanted to be with Maggie. But he lied. He had a gun, and he tied me up, and they ran off. [Sighs] I-I finally freed myself, but I have no idea where they went. You -- you have to understand, Mr. Newman, this is not my fault. I did everything that you told me to do.
Victor: Listen carefully. You find them. You bring them back. You got that?
Chloe: Should I wake up Bella?
Kevin: No. Let's let her sleep until we're ready to roll. Hopefully she'll drift off again once we're on the road.
Chloe: [Sighs] Okay. Straight to Oregon?
Kevin: I say we drive till dawn and we sleep when we're far away.
Chloe: How long do you think it's gonna take us to get there?
Kevin: Couple days. Hey. No worries, all right? All of our family and friends understand why I need to start over someplace new. And everybody thinks you're gone. Nobody is looking for us. So from now on, it's you, Bella, and me. That's all that matters. We get to Portland, we start our new life, happily ever after.
Chloe: I wish you hadn't have said that.
Nick: [Sighs]
Phyllis: Hi.
Victoria: Hello.
Reed: Hey.
Billy: I didn't expect you back so early. I hope you, uh, I hope you don't mind, but I invited Phyllis to spend some time with the kids and I.
Victoria: Oh, how did that go?
Billy: It was great. They had a great time. They had a blast.
Phyllis: Billy, you don't have to do that. You don't have to be the cheerleader. Victoria should know the whole truth.
Victoria: Which is?
Phyllis: The kids acted like they were, you know, meeting new people. It definitely wasn't love at first sight.
Billy: Oh, come on. You were great. She was great with them. You know, she brought over a video game, which was totally educational. She did her research and picked a good one. It wasn't long before we all had a great time together.
Victoria: How nice. Anyway, it's getting late, so if you don't mind, I...
Phyllis: Um, hit the bricks, yes.
Billy: Hold on a second. Just before... I just want to make sure that you're really -- you're okay with this.
Nikki: Oh, Jack, I am so sorry. I-I hope you can forgive me for...whatever that was.
Jack: I believe it's still called a kiss.
Nikki: [Sighs] Is it? It's been awhile. I-I just was all scrambled mentally because of tonight.
Jack: Don't make too big a deal of it. It isn't like it hasn't happened before. We were married once.
Nikki: Yeah, well, does that mean you go around kissing all of your ex-wives?
Jack: No. Just you.
Nikki: Hmm.
Jack: For what it's worth, in that department, your skills are undiminished. 'Nikki: Oh, you are still a smooth talker. Ohh! Boy. Tonight was so not what I expected.
Jack: Yeah, a lot of surprises, huh?
Nikki: Some of them not good.
Jack: Victor, Nicholas?
Nikki: You were in the garage. How much did you hear?
Jack: I didn't hear much. By the time I got there, Nicholas was on his way.
Nikki: Well, I knew that he was very against my performing, but I couldn't believe that he would undermine me the way he did.
Jack: Wait a second. Nicholas adores you. And unlike his father, he is not willing to put you on display so that it reflects well on him. He wants what's best for you. And if I was in his position, I might have done the same thing.
Nikki: Oh, jack.
Jack: No, I mean it. I would have.
Nikki: You think it would have been better to not have the concert at all?
Jack: You hung in there like a champion despite the agonizing pain. Your performance was wonderful. The music was brilliant and inspiring. And you and I both know it could have gone another way. And victor should have known that no event, no charity, no fat donation check is worth the risk.
Nikki: Yes, but you see, jack, victor didn't know any of that. I kept that information from him. It -- it was me, not him. I was determined to do it. And I'm glad that I did, 'cause I got to perform and I got to let the people who have M.S. Know that it's not a death sentence, that you can have a wonderful life with it, and we raised so much money, jack. I feel so great about that.
Jack: And you should. But what about victor? You feel great about him now?
Chloe: I'm afraid you just jinxed our chances of building the life that we want.
Kevin: How? By saying "happily ever after"? That's silly.
Chloe: Because those words are for fantasies. They are not real.
Kevin: Chloe, it's happening right now tonight, so start believing.
Chloe: You know, I'm not gonna feel better until you put a thousand miles between us and victor, and that's still not even enough.
Kevin: Victor is not gonna be an issue.
Chloe: How can you say that?
Kevin: Because dr. Harris, as far gone as he is, is still lucid enough to not admit how epically he screwed up.
Chloe: [Sighs]
Victor: I paid you an obscene amount of money to do one thing -- to keep Chloe hidden.
Dr. Harris: I thought I got rid of Kevin. I don't know how it went wrong.
Victor: Did either of them give you any ideas to where they were going?
Dr. Harris: They went to get Bella, so I assume they're en route to Genoa city.
Victor: And you're telling me that now? Does Kevin know that I'm involved?
Dr. Harris: I never said a word. And Maggie wouldn't tell. She's -- she's too frightened of you.
Victor: What do you mean, Maggie? Who the hell is Maggie?
Dr. Harris: My daughter. You brought her back to me.
Victor: Wait a minute. You think Chloe is your daughter?
Dr. Harris: Who's Chloe? Look, please, Mr. Newman, please tell me you will find Maggie and bring her straight back to me.
Victor: I will find them. Now, you listen very carefully. You destroy this number that you just called and never contact me again.
Charlie: Where's dad?
Lily: He's out. Given how upset you both were, we thought it might be best if he weren't here when you got back. Look, I know you have a lot of questions about your dad and the woman that he worked with.
Charlie: Woman he got pregnant.
Lily: Whatever is on your mind, we can discuss it like adults.
Mattie: I'm still shocked he cheated on you.
Lily: And he's very sorry about that.
Charlie: He's always lecturing us about safe sex. Different rules apply for him, I guess.
Lily: Look, I know it seems like a double standard.
Charlie: What else would you call it?
Lily: He's human, Charlie. He makes mistakes like everybody else.
Mattie: This isn't a mistake. A mistake is something that can be fixed. What he did, that'll affect us forever.
Lily: And he's well aware of that.
Mattie: Do we have to pretend to love this new baby? Will its mother be a part of our lives?
Lily: Her name is Juliet. And her child will be your new little brother or sister.
Charlie: Half.
Lily: Your dad will not abandon his responsibilities toward this child.
Mattie: What about his responsibilities toward us... and to you?
Cane: [Sighs]
Juliet: Hi.
Cane: Hmm.
Juliet: I can't pretend we don't know each other. But I just have no clue what to say to you.
Cane: Well, you could always start by saying that you're sorry.
Juliet: Look, you know I'm sorry.
Cane: Yeah? Well, you know what? Tonight lily and I told the kids about your pregnancy, and now my children despise me.
Juliet: Oh, god. I'm sure they don't,
Cane: Hmm.
Juliet: And I never wanted to ruin things with your kids.
Cane: Well, it's too late for that, isn't it?
Juliet: I meant what I said before. I don't expect anything from you.
Cane: I will still pay child support, and I will provide whatever is necessary.
Juliet: Yeah, is a father's love on that list? Because a baby deserves two parents. But that's your call. I won't pressure you.
Cane: Oh, really? Well, that's a change, isn't it? Because that's all you've done since you filed the lawsuit is pressure me.
Juliet: I'm sorry you got fired.
Cane: What did you expect to happen when you falsely accused me of sexual harassment, Juliet?
Jack: Fresh chamomile with Wisconsin honey from right here in Walworth county.
Nikki: Oh, jack, you're too good to me.
Jack: Impossible. So, where were we?
Nikki: Hmm. Victor's motivation.
Jack: Oh, yeah. That.
Nikki: I had always assumed that he arranged for me to do that concert as an attempt to buy my affection, but I was wrong. He wasn't trying to control me or anything like that. He truly wanted to do something good and make me be a part of it.
Jack: Let me ask you something. The jewelry, the couture, your name in lights, even on a big state-of-the-art research facility, why would victor go to those lengths?
Nikki: Because he's desperate for me to forgive him.
Jack: Forgive him for what? What has that jerk done now?
Lily: Look, as uncomfortable as all of this is, I know that your dad loves you as much as ever.
Mattie: Then why would he do what he did?
Lily: He and Juliet were celebrating a deal they made in Tokyo, and they both got drunk, and neither of them were thinking of the consequences.
Charlie: That's another thing. Dad's always telling me, "don't drink," and, you know, I'm supposed to follow his rules and he could just do whatever he wants?
Lily: He knows what he did was wrong. He knows that.
Mattie: Maybe it was, but this Juliet, she sounds like a horrible person.
Lily: Look, before any of this happened, I liked her. I considered her a friend. You know, she took a one-time thing and made it much worse, and she has hurt a lot of people.
Charlie: How do you know it only happened one time?
Lily: Because that's what your father told me, and I believe him. And you should, too.
Mattie: But we can't just pretend that nothing happened. I can't, anyway.
Charlie: Yeah. Me neither.
Lily: No one expects you to. I just don't want this to change your relationship with him.
Charlie: It already has.
Lily: Look, you two mean more to him than anything. So please, please find a way to forgive him.
Mattie: Have you?
Cane: You didn't think your accusations would have repercussions?
Juliet: All I could focus on was how unfair it was that I lost my job. I wasn't thinking about yours.
Cane: But you didn't sue for wrongful termination. You sued for sexual harassment, which you know did not happen.
Juliet: I was taken advantage of and made a scapegoat. I was a valuable team player, and I did excellent work for you and Victoria, and you did not appreciate any of it.
Cane: Don't exaggerate this. Don't exaggerate this, okay? Don't.
Juliet: Every word I'm saying is true. Promises were made and then ripped away all because Billy couldn't keep his mouth shut around some hockey players, and that is no exaggeration.
Cane: Well, you know what? You are right about one thing. He is a massive screw-up, and if Victoria doesn't catch on fast soon, she won't even have a company to run.
Phyllis: Look, you don't have to put Victoria on the spot. Let her get some rest. You guys can talk about it tomorrow.
Billy: I know. We're leaving. I just want to make sure that you're cool with Phyllis being here.
Victoria: I never said you had to keep her a secret from the kids. I have no problem that they officially met.
Reed: [Scoffs] That's pretty nice of you, mom.
Phyllis: Yes, I sure agree. Thank you. You and Billy have terrific kids.
Victoria: Yes, well, if you excuse me, I need to take something for this pounding headache.
Billy: She okay? She never gets headaches. What? Was the music turned up too loud?
Reed: No. Actually, the show was great, and grandma really killed it. But, um... after, she fell.
Billy: What?
Reed: It was nothing. I mean, she's -- she's fine. You can ask her.
[Cell phone chimes]
Reed: Oh, Mom, um, is it all right if I go to crimson lights to meet up with a friend?
Victoria: Yeah, go ahead, honey.
Reed: All right.
Phyllis: I'm gonna be in the car, okay? Good night, Victoria.
Victoria: Goodbye.
[Door opens]
Billy: So this fall you took?
[Door closes]
Victoria: Yeah, it was just me being a klutz. A little after-show entertainment for the black-tie crowd. Embarrassing, but no big deal.
Billy: And was it a big deal, Phyllis being here tonight? I asked you three times. You can tell me the truth.
Victoria: I told you, Billy, I don't have a problem with it.
Billy: Seriously?
Victoria: [Sighs] Billy.
Billy: Look, I know you're not Phyllis' biggest fan, Victoria.
Victoria: Look, she's not just a fling to you, all right? That's what you keep telling me. She's gonna be a part of your life, so she has to meet the kids, and she did. I just wish you would have told me so I could have smoothed the way a bit. But you said that everything went great, so it went great.
Billy: It did.
Victoria: Good.
Billy: So thank you for being cool with this. Before I leave, you -- you sure you're okay? Is there anything I can do?
Victoria: I'm fine. I just need to get some sleep. Good night.
Billy: Okay.
Victoria: [Sighs]
Chloe: Okay. I think that's everything.
Kevin: Well, I guess it's time to leave. Unless you think we need some more snacks before we hit the road.
Chloe: Uh, no, we have water in the cooler. Anything else we need, we can just wait till we get out of town.
Kevin: Okay, um, I'll bring this all out to the car. You go wake Bella.
Chloe: Okay.
Kevin: And then we hit it. Okay.
[Knock on door]
Kevin: Who is it?
Victor: Your worst nightmare.
Kevin: [Whispers] Hide in the bathroom, quick. Uh, victor? Is that you? Hold on, please. Hi. Oh, this is a surprise.
Victor: Not a moment too soon, I gather.
Kevin: For what? Oh, um, to say goodbye. Yeah, I guess you heard Bella and I are leaving town.
Victor: You were in such a hurry to get out of this dump, you paid with a credit card. Makes it easy to follow you.
Kevin: Yeah, we decided to leave Genoa city. It's not a secret. My family knows. Paul knows.
Victor: Really? So everyone knows?
Kevin: Yeah. There's so many bad memories here, you know? Ready to erase them all and start fresh with my daughter.
Victor: Oh. How about Chloe?
Kevin: Well, we -- we won't forget about her. She's in our hearts, and, um, regardless of what she did, we're always gonna have our memories.
Victor: Chloe! Why don't you come out of there? Or do I have to come get you?
Reed: Hey.
Mattie: Hi. Uh, thanks for coming. You have no idea.
Reed: What happened? Are you okay?
Mattie: No. But having the sane friendly person to talk to will definitely help.
Reed: Got the "friendly" covered, but as far as sane goes, I'm kind of iffy.
Mattie: Sorry for not answering your text messages. I wasn't ignoring you. I promise.
Reed: Don't worry about it. What's up?
Mattie: I found something bad out tonight, major.
Reed: Oh, um... about my mom firing your dad. 'Cause that was --
Mattie: Justified. That's not it. They're connected, but that's just the start. My family's become this big, gigantic mess.
Reed: You texted the right guy. Messed up families are kind of my specialty.
Mattie: [Chuckles]
Reed: You should have been at that event tonight.
Mattie: Really? What was going on?
Reed: You first.
Mattie: No, you. It might make it easier for me.
Reed: [Sighs] All right, well, it was just one of those big, fancy, formal fundraisers. I've been to a few of them like this before, but tonight the whole family was acting bizarre.
Mattie: Your grandma was playing piano. I saw the posters.
Reed: Yeah, and she was amazing. But there was this obvious thing between my grandpa and my uncle nick, then nick just walked out on them, and then my grandpa disappeared and he came back looking like he'd gone a couple rounds with someone.
Mattie: Victor Newman got into a fist fight with his own son?
Reed: That's the thing. I don't know. And no one would tell me anything. Then my grandma bolted from her own party, and I don't know. There's more, but my mom wouldn't explain anything.
Mattie: That's the worst, when they treat you like you're some immature, little kid, like you're too clueless to realize that they're being total hypocrites.
Reed: Yeah, "do as I say, not as I do." Never get tired of that one.
Mattie: I know, right? And they expect us to always tell the truth. No joke, up until a few weeks ago, my dad was my hero. I thought my parents knew some secret other people didn't because they're still married and in love, not like all the other kids at school with divorced parents, stepbrothers, half-sisters, baby daddies, all weird, crazy, and complicated. Oh, I'm so sorry. That came out so wrong.
Phyllis: Okay, I tell you what. Why don't we forget dessert and just go home?
Billy: Why? It's just my ex-coworkers. I'm not gonna let them get between us and apple crumble.
Cane: See, I know that you legally can't disclose the terms of your settlement, but my severance package from brash & sassy totaled zero.
Juliet: That is outrageous.
Cane: No, actually, that is par for the course. Oh, you see, 'cause Victoria's so consumed with trying to win Billy back that she's completely lost her ability to make a rational decision.
Billy: Oh, that's right, ladies and gentlemen. That's why cane's in the position that he's in -- because of Victoria. You know, Vicki must not have CC'd me on the memo, the one that said that you were supposed to cheat on your wife and get a coworker pregnant.
Nick: Hey. Have you seen mom?
Victoria: No, not since the party. Why?
Nick: She's gone again.
Victoria: What?
Nick: Yeah, I went out to the ranch to check on her. You know, she never came home from the benefit. She hasn't returned any of my calls or messages.
Victoria: Well, maybe she heard what you did. Dad told me how you nearly derailed the concert.
Nick: Oh, she found out in the worst possible way. She ran into me and dad at the parking deck. We were fighting.
Victoria: [Sighs] God. That's fantastic. Way to go, nick. What the hell were you thinking?
Nick: Well, I guess dad failed to fill you in on that part of it.
Victoria: Let me guess. You are tired of protecting dad from his secrets. And guess what? So am I. I told mom she needs to make a choice -- either stay with him or kick him out for good. Either way, whatever she chooses, I want to quit this charade. But you trying to destroy the soundboard so that the benefit would get canceled? I mean, I hope you know that's totally inexcusable.
Nick: I was protecting our mother. Look, her M.S. Has flared up, and she's in terrible pain, and I can't watch her suffer anymore.
Victoria: Then why didn't you just tell dad the truth?
Nick: 'Cause she didn't want anyone to know!
Victoria: Well, she played beautifully tonight, so I guess she's a better judge of her condition than you are.
Nick: Vick, you are so wrong about that.
Chloe: I can't go to jail. I won't.
Victor: If memory serves me, you're dead, aren't you?
Kevin: So dr. Harris called you.
Victor: You know, I thought you were a smart boy. You disappoint me. You actually want to protect her?
Kevin: She's the love of my life, and I want to be with her no matter what. You would do the same thing for Nikki.
Victor: I wouldn't be so stupid as to leave my trail all over. Any tom, dick, and harry can find me.
Chloe: So what are you gonna do with us?
Kevin: He doesn't have to do anything. Let us go. We have no interest in spilling your secrets to anyone ever.
Victor: I can't take that chance.
Nikki: What shouldn't I forgive victor for? There's a long list.
Jack: Well, you've already done it so many times.
Nikki: That's right. So enough is enough.
Jack: You were acting every bit the loving wife tonight.
Nikki: That's right, jack. I was acting. I was performing on and off stage. I didn't want to let on to the charity how I really feel about him.
Jack: Okay, this -- this is different. Talk to me. What is going on? What is this really about?
Nikki: It's about what he did to you.
Jack: To me?
Nikki: And I hoped when he went to prison that he would learn something finally, he would realize the horrible things that he did to you and Phyllis, but he didn't. And that -- that's just the last straw for me, and it should have been the end of our marriage. It wasn't, but it should have been.
Jack: You don't blame yourself for this.
Nikki: Oh, yes, I do, jack. I do very much blame myself, because I'm the one who's always giving him the free pass, making up the excuses for him, making sure he gets away with all of his nonsense. I'm the one who kept believing in the victor Newman who gave all the family dinners, told me that he wanted to retire and focus on our marriage. I believed that that man was going to exist. But he never existed because he can't be that man. The man who disowned his son tonight, that's the real victor Newman.
Jack: This is the most clear-eyed, intelligent thing you have said to me in a very long time. And I'm 100% behind you. I also want you to know I won't hold you to it.
Nikki: What do you mean?
Jack: Well, you've had a very stressful evening and talking in the heat of the moment. I just want you to know if you decide to forgive victor again, I will understand.
Cane: You know, your defense of marriage, it seems kind of shaky considering your track record.
Billy: Oh, don't change the subject, man. You're attacking Victoria for her competence in business. Yet the only mistake she made was trusting you.
Juliet: No, cane is right about one thing. She let you get away with murder, unlike the rest of us peons.
Billy: Hold on a second. Are you defending the guy that you claim sexually harassed you? My god, you two are unbelievable.
Juliet: I worked in that office, too. I know who made the most serious mistakes and who got blamed for them. Excuse me.
Phyllis: I'll tell you what. Let's grab a seat.
Billy: No, are you hearing this? I mean, this is coming from the guy that nearly took down the entire company with his lies.
Cane: I have made mistakes, okay, and I know that, but this lawsuit wouldn't have happened if you got the pink slip instead of Juliet.
Billy: Maybe that's true, but you would still have a baby on the way, wouldn't you?
Cane: I own up for my mistakes, Billy, okay? So maybe it's time that you just start owning up for yours.
Nick: Mom was in agony minutes after she performed in her dressing room. That concert took every ounce of strength she had in her.
Victoria: She seemed fine when reed and Abby and I came by afterwards.
Nick: Do you think I'm making this up to explain why I tried to stop the concert?
Victoria: No, I do not think that. I just think that -- [Sighs] Mom doesn't want anyone making her decisions for her. You're treating her like a child.
Nick: Where are your priorities, Vick? Why don't you care about mom?
Victoria: If you would have come to me and consulted with me, then we could have gone to mom together. That's all I'm saying.
Nick: That wouldn't have mattered! Look, I don't want to fight about this with you, okay, or mom. Dad has driven all of us to this. As far as I'm concerned, this is on him.
Victoria: Look, nick, I -- [Sighs]
Nick: Whoa. Vick, whoa. Are you okay? What's wrong?
Victoria: [Sighs]
Billy: Victoria worked night and day to try and control the damage caused by cane to the company. Who knows how long it's gonna take for us to get back what we lost. In cane's world, Victoria's the villain? Come on. That's bordering on delusional.
Phyllis: I feel sorry for him.
Billy: Are you kidding me? Every bit of this he brought on himself.
Phyllis: Hmm. I don't have an argument for you at all on that, but the thing is, self-inflicted wounds hurt the most. He's gonna be feeling the burn from betraying his family for a very long time.
Billy: Look, it's not hype when I say that he nearly destroyed brash & sassy. Victoria was determined to fight this lawsuit because she believed cane when he said that he didn't touch Juliet. He was lying the whole time. She could have settled, yet she's putting out fires, and the numbers for the company are going down. Cane's situation, impregnating a coworker when he's married with two kids, that's not Victoria's fault. He's just A...a guy that needs an enemy.
Phyllis: Meaning you.
Billy: Yeah, it was me for a long time, but it sounds like Victoria might have bumped ahead of me.
Mattie: Thanks. Sorry. I didn't mean to make your family sound freakish or anything.
Reed: It's no big deal. [Sighs] Divorced parents, custody issues, half sibs. Welcome to my world. Since I was little, I lived with my dad mainly, only seeing my mom and the rest of my family on vacations. A lot of complicated relationships. So growing up, I didn't really expect a fairytale.
Mattie: But see, I did. I thought it was possible and real. My parents, they were living proof. But I guess that's just another lie parents tell their kids to keep them happy.
Jack: I actually thought I could make myself forget that victor had destroyed my life. Crazy, huh? Then the day came I had to face the fact I'm never gonna forgive that bastard ever. He stole my happiness. Yeah, I put my life back together somewhat. But at a terrible cost.
Nikki: Does that mean you've been biding your time, waiting to get revenge?
Jack: No, no, no, no, no. That's pointless. That much I have learned.
Nikki: Well, I know you haven't been happy since you and Phyllis broke up.
Jack: Saw right through me, did you? I've been putting on quite a show, but even indulging in some mindless, meaningless sex. I somehow thought having my mother in town might change everything. Well, clearly that was delusional, too.
Nikki: Well, no, wait a minute. Your relationship with your mother is better, but that kind of pain, it's gonna take time to get over.
Jack: Yeah, and now I find myself obsessing about graham.
Nikki: No, you're not obsessing. You are just concerned about your mother, that he's taking advantage.
Jack: I'm trying to protect her. She doesn't see it that way.
Nikki: I applaud you. I think you're doing the right thing. But at the end of the day, my question is, who's looking after jack?
Victor: How is it that you imagined that I would allow this woman to get away with murdering my son?
Kevin: Because you're just as culpable. One move against Chloe, and I will tell Paul you conspired with Harris to get her out of that hospital, bring her back here to frame Adam. You're the one who set off the chain of events that led to Adam's death.
Victor: I'll take that chance.
Kevin: So what are you gonna do? Send us back to dr. Harris? He's so far over the edge, he thinks that Chloe is his daughter, Maggie, back from the dead to practice medicine with him. Victor.
Victor: Mm-hmm?
Kevin: You know me, and you know you can trust me. You and I have the same goal here -- to keep the world from figuring out that Chloe Mitchell is alive. The police aren't searching for her. I can protect her.
Victor: How are you gonna do that?
Kevin: We're moving to Oregon. She has a new name, a new identity. She will not be discovered. I will see to that.
Victor: You're a smart boy. You know that I have as much at stake as the two of you.
Kevin: And I have zero interest in ruining your life, victor. And I'm the last person in the world that can judge you. So everything that you have done will stay a secret until the day I die, so long as you back off of Chloe. Protecting her and protecting my daughter are the only things that I care about. It makes me a better man, and there is nothing I won't do to keep us safe and together.
Phyllis: The best way for cane to get back at Victoria is to find a new employer, prove that she made a mistake giving the ax to someone with his smarts and expertise.
Billy: Who also knows brash & sassy's secrets.
Phyllis: Yeah, and I know that that is a concern for you and Victoria.
Billy: The bitter jag that he's on? Yeah. He would probably get off revealing all his secrets to the competition.
Phyllis: And we all know that disgruntled ex-employees are dangerous. Just look at Juliet.
Cane: Hey. How did things go with the kids?
Lily: I tried defending you as best I could, but they're upset.
Cane: After all the things I've tried to teach them about safe sex, responsible drinking, and telling the truth and commitment, they must think I'm the biggest fraud there is. I don't know how things are gonna be the same again.
Lily: They won't be. You didn't really think things would magically be okay, did you?
Cane: Are you talking about between me and the kids or between me and you? Are you trying to tell me that you don't want to be married to me anymore?
Nick: All right. What the heck was that?
Victoria: Nothing. Exhaustion, lack of sleep, dehydration. I don't know. I'm fine. I promise.
Nick: [Sighs] Sorry if I'm contributing to your stress.
Victoria: Don't mention it. If I hear from mom, I'll tell her she needs to call you, okay?
Nick: All right.
Victoria: All right. I'm fine.
Nick: You promise?
Victoria: Yes.
Nick: All right. I'll see you.
Victoria: Good night.
[Door opens]
[Door closes]
Jack: As much as I appreciate your concern, believe me, I can take care of myself.
Nikki: Well, you shouldn't have to. [Sighs] I have to tell you, when you whisked me out of there tonight, it was like flipping a switch giving me permission to live the life that I want to live.
Jack: And what would that be?
Nikki: In this instance? Being right here with you. This is exactly what I need.
Victor: All right, you can go. As long as Chloe remains dead in people's eyes, I will not come after you, okay?
Chloe: [Voice breaking] Thank you.
Kevin: You will not regret this.
Victor: You better hope I won't.
Kevin: We made it. Come on. Okay.
Next on "the young and the restless"...
Mariah: I need an honest answer from you. How do you actually feel about me?
Ravi: This is more personal than professional. Ashley, this is about your mother.
Jack: I'm sorry.
Dina: You should be. How dare you treat me like this.
