Episode # 11211 ~ Nick resorts to extreme measures to protect Nikki; Jack relishes Brash & Sassy's decline; Cane receives the results of Juliet's paternity test.
Provided By Suzanne
Nick: This is insane. My mother has another serious M.S. flare-up, yet she insists on going through with this performance. And instead of telling my dad that she's struggling, she has you hem a dress for her?Chelsea: I know, I know. But she did swear to me that she was okay.
Nick: We both know she's not. How am I supposed to get her to see that?
Chelsea: I don't think anybody is going to be able to make Nikki Newman do anything she doesn't want to do.
Nick: Well, my dad can. He's a master at pulling her strings. I have to protect her. There's only one way to do that.
Jack: You don't call, you never write.
Nikki: I'm sorry I was out of touch, but I'm back now.
Jack: You scared me taking off like that.
Nikki: I just had to get away. Self-care is very trendy these days.
Jack: W-what do you mean, self-care? Did your symptoms get worse?
Nikki: I was simply being proactive about my condition. I've been assured I'm fine, so there.
Jack: I'm glad you did whatever you had to do to take care of yourself. Of course, victor took a different position.
Nikki: Oh, my god. He came to you?
Jack: Yes. He thought maybe I might know where you were. You know, as strange as it sounds, I don't think he likes our friendship.
Nikki: [Scoffs] As if he ever did.
Jack: Well, back then, he always knew you'd come back to him. And you always did.
Hilary: I'm surprised that you wanted to see me.
Victor: Well, it concerns your show, "the Hilary hour."
Hilary: You've watched it?
Victor: Ever since you and Devon have taken it over and ever since you did an exposé on the finances of my company.
Hilary: You'll also remember that I ran a retraction.
Victor: As I said, you've come a long way.
Hilary: Then tell me, Mr. Newman. What exactly did you want to talk to me about?
Victor: A story, interesting story, one that the audience actually would like to see.
Cane: Hey.
Lily: Are the kids home?
Cane: Uh, no, they went out to get something to eat.
Lily: We have food here. We have to watch what we spend.
Cane: I know, but they wanted to have some time alone, just the two of them. I, uh, I told them I got fired from brash & sassy.
Lily: Oh. How did you explain it?
Cane: I told them the truth. That Victoria settled the lawsuit and I cost the company a lot of money, so she had to let me go. But I made it very clear there was no sexual harassment.
Lily: I just saw Billy and Victoria, and they assured me that I still have a job with them, so that's something.
Cane: [Sighs]
Lily: Do you have a problem with that, or...?
Billy: If our numbers were a graph, we would be that line going over the cliff. Thank you very much, cane.
Victoria: Okay, look, I don't want to really think about him right now, Billy, or, quite frankly, ever again. [Sighs] We need to find a way to turn this all around.
Billy: It's a good thing you kicked his butt to the curb, then. You know, I got to be honest. It's a nice feeling knowing I'm not gonna have to see his smug face --
Victoria: Okay, enough! You don't get to dump all of this on cane.
Billy: What do you mean by that? Do you blame me for this?
Abby: Hi. I take it you have substantial experience in lighting and audio in this type of venue?
That's why I'm here.
Abby: Great, because I expect everything to go perfectly.
When I'm done, Mrs. Newman will look and sound like a million bucks.
Abby: Can you make that a billion? [Chuckles]
Done.
Abby: That's what I like to hear.
Hilary: You want me to showcase a benefit for the research center named in honor of your wife?
Victor: That's right. The more media attention, the greater the donations.
Hilary: [Scoffs] I-I am flattered that you thought of me.
Victor: Well, I thought of contacting friends on both coasts, but I think a locally produced show would be far more effective.
Hilary: Yes, and on behalf of my entire staff, we would love to support such a worthy cause.
Victor: Well, that's wonderful. I'm glad to hear that.
Hilary: However...
Victor: Yes?
Hilary: ...As executive producer, uh, I would need some freedom in how I handle the piece. We would have certain needs in terms of content.
Victor: You will have complete access to my entire family. Backstage, interview VIPs, celebrities.
Hilary: I love the sound of that.
Victor: But the focus has to be on my wife.
Hilary: Naturally. Nikki is a role model for all of us.
Victor: You know, I saw your interview with Julie Chen. You did a hell of a job. I mean, you have stage presence. I was impressed.
Hilary: Really?
Victor: Yeah.
Hilary: Wow. Well, I mean, thank you. That -- that means a lot. Yeah, that trip to L.A., It was life-changing on so many levels.
Victor: I understand you ran into my daughter Victoria.
Hilary: Yes, and I snagged a front-row seat when heads started to roll leading to recent events. I know that your daughter is going through a very trying time, and I hope -- I really hope that she's holding up okay.
Victor: I'm sure she'll be happy to know that you're concerned.
Hilary: She handled that lawsuit better than anyone could. I'm sure that settling was the last thing she wanted to do.
Victor: She's a Newman. And you know what we do? We bounce right back up. Now, I'm gonna send you a list of the interviewees, okay?
Hilary: Okay, great.
Victor: All right.
Hilary: I am really looking forward to our collaboration, and I promise, Mr. Newman, I will not disappoint you.
Victor: Thank you. Nice to see you.
Jack: So what kind of treatment did you get?
Nikki: Oh, jack, I had massages every day, I had yoga, I had acupuncture. I feel like a new person.
Jack: You'll forgive me, sweetheart. I was there. I saw the agony you were in. You needed more than a good rubdown at a fancy resort.
Nikki: Obviously you need more convincing, so... excuse me just one moment. Let me demonstrate.
Jack: Ooh.
[Piano playing]
Nikki: No wincing, no pain. I am more than ready for tomorrow's performance. And you are going to be there to hear it. And afterwards, you're going to write a big, fat check that's tax deductible because you're such a loyal, good friend.
Jack: I am a friend. And I am loyal. It's why I worry.
Nikki: Are you still gonna bring Dina with you?
Jack: Yes, Dina's very excited about it all. Why are you changing the subject?
Nikki: I'm not. How are things going between the two of you?
Jack: Oh, they couldn't be better, especially since I learned she plans to leave the bulk of her estate to her boy toy, graham.
Nikki: What? That's an odd announcement.
Jack: Yeah, apparently this has been in the works for quite a while.
Nikki: It's a pretty shocking decision.
Jack: I agree. And I don't get it. Not that I want my mother's money. But why leave it to this guy who we know nothing about? And why tell us about it now?
Nikki: Seems like she feels very close with this man. But how is that looking after her future?
Nick: It's not just the concert. You know, mom's been under constant pressure for months. She played mediator with me and Sharon and faith, dad taking off. You know, I'm just worried she's doing irreversible damage to her health.
Chelsea: It's just a couple of pieces on the piano. I mean, is it really so taxing?
Nick: I know, Chelsea. It's not just the physical movements. You know, the emotional stress really takes a toll on her.
Chelsea: Your mother is a grown woman. She knows her limits. If she really wants to do this, it's not up to you to stop her.
Nick: I know. I know I should back off. I'm just worried about her. Is there such thing as sympathetic performance anxiety?
Chelsea: You are just a kind, caring son that is worried about his mom. It's gonna be okay. I'm gonna go bring Nikki back her dress, and she's gonna look amazing when she takes that stage tomorrow.
Nick: Okay.
Chelsea: All righty. I'll see you later.
Nick: Bye. [Sighs]
Cane: Look, I don't have a problem with it. I'm thrilled you're still going to be working there.
Lily: Then why did you look so shocked when I said Victoria's keeping me on?
Cane: Because you looked relieved that you still had a job. Look, I know that I've put us in a position now where our family's fragile, and I'm sorry for this.
Lily: Well, thankfully we both won't be losing our paychecks.
Cane: Look, the money's good, okay? But I'm happy you're modeling 'cause it makes you happy.
Lily: It's kind of hard to be happy about anything right now, but I'm pretty grateful that Victoria cut me a break.
Cane: I'm not gonna be out of work for that long, all right? I've already put out feelers with headhunters, and I'll find something soon. But in the meantime, I'm here. I'm gonna be around to help you and the kids, all right? I'll support you any way I can, all right? Please just don't let this mistake affect us.
Lily: It's already affected us. Yeah, you told the kids that you were fired, but that's not the end of it. In a few months, Mattie and Charlie could have a little brother or sister.
Cane: We don't know if it's gonna be my baby.
Lily: Well, when do we find out?
Cane: Later today most likely, okay? Until then, just -- let's just take this one step at a time.
[Cell phone chimes]
Cane: [Sighs]
Lily: Is it Juliet?
Cane: No, it's a job contact. Do you want to look?
Lily: No, I don't -- I don't need to see it.
Cane: Sweetheart, if you want to go through my phone, go through my phone. I don't mind. Go through it. Check my e-mails, my texts, my calls. I don't mind. Go through it.
Lily: I already did.
Nikki: I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with Dina. It's been awhile. Jack, you're staring.
Jack: I'm reading your face.
Nikki: And what do you see?
Jack: You. Always beautiful.
Nikki: And I look very well and rested. Thank you so much for noticing that finally.
Jack: I worry. So sue me.
Nikki: You're so good to me. I don't know what in the world I would do without you.
Jack: You'll never have to worry about that. As for me, year after year, there is always you. Maybe the universe is trying to tell us something. Don't get all nervous on me.
Nikki: [Chuckles]
Jack: I'll let you rest for your big day tomorrow. And that will be me in the front row standing on my chair leading cheers.
Nikki: Don't you dare.
Jack: Try and stop me.
Nikki: I will. See ya. [Sighs]
Victoria: What I need from you are solutions. How do we fix things? That's all I care about.
Billy: Vick, I am with you. All in. I will not let our competition kick us when we are down. You have my word on that.
Victoria: [Sighs] Thank you. But we need to keep these sales figures under wraps, at least until we have a chance to regroup.
[Cell phone chimes]
Billy: I agree with that. Sorry. That's my mom. "Not the best time right now, mother."
Victoria: No, that's okay. Hey, look, we're finished here. Go see Jill.
Billy: I thought you just said that we got a bunch of work --
Victoria: Let's just start fresh tomorrow morning, all right?
Billy: You sure?
Victoria: Yeah. And, Billy, look, do me a favor. When I say I want to keep this private, I mean Jill. The last thing that I need is for her to itemize all of my failures.
Billy: Oh, hold on a second. You did not fail anybody here, okay?
We failed you. I'll see you later. What are you doing here?
Victor: I'm seeing my daughter.
Victoria: Billy, hi. Look, it's okay. Okay? I'll talk to you later.
Billy: Okay.
Victoria: Hi, daddy. I had no idea you'd be stopping by.
Victor: Huh. Listen, uh, something has been on my mind. I think this separation that your mother ordered for our family has gone on too long.
Victoria: I see. Well, would you have preferred that she told the police that you brought Chloe to town? You may not be in mom's good graces, but at least you're not in court.
Victor: So, I understand you had to settle a lawsuit?
Victoria: Well, I made a mistake trusting cane. I still don't believe that there was any sexual harassment or coercion. But there were other details that I was unaware of when the case was filed. So once I learned the truth, I decided that it was too risky to go to court, and I settled. I gave in, dad.
Victor: You took charge of the situation. You shut it down.
Victoria: No. I lost.
Victor: The rest of the world doesn't know about the lawsuit. You just take the company, you regroup, go in a different direction.
Victoria: You know, that's funny. That's exactly what I just told Billy.
Victor: If you have problems in business, you come to me. I will always help you.
Victoria: Everything's under control, dad. It's not an issue.
Lily: You didn't leave your phone behind. I took it so I could see what you had written to Juliet. And I'm not proud of it.
Cane: Okay, so... you saw there was nothing between us, nothing but that one drunken night. It was all work. Listen, I love the life that we have together. And we can get through this, because we have gotten through things like this before.
Lily: You should really go to that meeting. It's important.
Cane: Are you gonna be here when I get home?
Lily: This is my home. Where else would I be?
[Door closes]
Abby: I need the lighting and the sound up as soon as possible. The safety inspector's coming by at some point today. No advance warning. But if it's not finished, he won't sign off.
Nick: Who won't sign off on what?
Abby: The safety inspector. We have to prove that everything is up to code or else he won't give us a permit to hold the event.
Nick: Any issues?
I've done it a thousand times.
Abby: Great. He's done it a thousand times. Yeah, he's put the power cord into the little...thing.
Nick: "The thing," meaning the generator? [Chuckles]
Abby: How do you know that?
Nick: Well, I run a nightclub. I mean, the safety inspectors come all the time.
Abby: Yeah, uh, this is a Newman event, and since you're already here...
Nick: I can stick around and help if you want me to.
Abby: Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am gonna go check on the VIP. Seating.
Nick: Okay.
Jill: Colin, you don't have to pick me up at the airport. [Chuckles] We are not going to "reunite" in the backseat of a town car. That can wait for the hotel. Yeah. You're incorrigible. I love you. I'll see you soon. Bye.
Esther: The next time you talk like that, could you just warn me so that I can wear earplugs?
Jill: The next time I talk like that, I'm gonna be with my husband halfway across the globe.
Esther: Well, I'll still wear earplugs because your voice carries. I-I checked on your medication, and I uploaded some more heart-healthy recipes to your tablet.
Jill: Would you stop blathering, please? How are you?
Esther: Me? I'm fine.
Jill: Oh, my god. You're such a hideous liar. You just lost your daughter. And Kevin's taken your granddaughter to Portland. How can you be fine?
Esther: I understand his decision. Memories here are just -- they're just too painful.
Jill: Listen. You can go there with him. God knows I don't need you here.
Esther: Oh, no. I could never leave for the same reason that Kevin can't stay. Everywhere I look, I see Chloe. It's really, really painful, but I can feel her here. I'd just be lost without that.
Jill: I got you something.
Esther: What? A therapist?
Jill: Well, you're not gonna have me here to blather to.
Esther: Well, anyone would be more helpful than you.
Jill: I give it about 10 minutes before you drive this poor woman crazy.
Esther: [Sighs] I better just go check your bags, because the last thing I need is a midnight call blaming me for something that you forgot.
[Doorbell rings]
Jill: You don't have to ring the doorbell. You're here. Mwah.
Billy: How was your checkup?
Jill: Well, the doctor gave me a clean bill of health. He said I'm free to go traveling all over the world with my ne'er-do-well husband.
Billy: That sounds horrible.
Jill: Speaking of Phyllis...
Billy: [Chuckles]
Jill: ...I've decided something. I am not gonna nag you any more about this little reunion of yours with her.
Billy: Ohh! Wow. I would appreciate that.
Jill: Because this debacle will be over and forgotten very soon without any help from me, unlike the brash & sassy nightmare.
Billy: Well, that nightmare is cane's fault.
Jill: No, no. He assured me it's all lies.
Billy: Well, that's funny, because he just came to Victoria today and he admitted everything.
Jill: What?
Billy: She fired him.
Jill: She did what?!
Billy: Victoria threw everything she had at that lawsuit for one reason only. Cane said nothing happened in that hotel room in Japan, and she believed him. But he lied about it all.
Jill: God, how could he be so stupid? He loves lily.
Billy: Yeah, well, you know, people drink, they do stupid, reckless things. That's an excuse for one night. But every day, every decision, every lie after that, cane has been dead sober for. He let his wife sit in that deposition and defend his lies.
Jill: [Sighs]
Billy: Then she had to watch a videotape of Juliet walking into her husband's hotel room and then leaving the next morning.
Jill: Oh, no, no, no! Please no!
Billy: Yes, so Victoria writes a big check and cane gets the ax. And don't you dare say that he didn't deserve that.
Jill: This is a mistake.
Billy: Are you kidding me?
Jill: No, I don't mean Victoria firing him. I mean me joining Colin. He'll be all right without me. I'm needed here.
Billy: No. You are doing really good after your heart attack. You need to continue in that recovery mission, okay? I will let you know what's going on here.
Jill: I don't know, sweetie.
Billy: No, listen, mom, you need to be healthy, okay? Please.
Jill: Okay, but you call me. I am on that airplane in a heartbeat.
Billy: Okay.
Jill: Okay? Unh! And please don't do anything idiotic while I'm gone.
Billy: Ahh. I love you, too.
[Door opens]
[Door closes]
Victor: I came here to offer you my assistance. And instead you decide to treat me with the same contempt as your brother Nicholas.
Victoria: Dad, Nicholas is angry. He's also mostly sad. That's not gonna change any time soon. But to the rest of the world, we look like -- we look like we're still a family.
Victor: We are a family. To think otherwise is absurd.
Victoria: [Sighs] Listen, tomorrow is a big night. We're gonna be there to support mom, so why don't we just focus on that?
Victor: Why don't you take a look at the venue?
Victoria: I will. I'm sure it's lovely.
Victor: Let me know what you think.
Victoria: Daddy.
Victor: What?
Victoria: Thank you for stopping by.
Chelsea: I fixed the hem. It was a piece of cake. So, if you have time to try it on, I can make sure it's exactly what you want.
Nikki: Oh, no. I'm sure it's perfect.
Chelsea: Nikki, I, um, I hate to overstep, but I'm just gonna do it anyway. Nicholas is really worried about you. And so am I. It seemed like you were in a lot of pain earlier.
Nikki: Oh, no, honey. I told you. I just get a little stiff sometimes.
Chelsea: Nick is just worried that you're having some medical issues, and if that's true, I hope that you would tell victor. I know he would hate for you to put your health at risk.
Nikki: Well, it's very sweet of you to be concerned, but please tell my son that I can take care of this on my own.
Chelsea: You're such a brave, strong, incredible woman whether you play the piano or not. I just... I just hope you remember that and hope you do what's best for yourself.
Jill: I'm glad I got a chance to see you before I joined your father.
Cane: Yeah, my meeting got canceled just before you called.
Jill: Uh... Billy just stopped by, cane.
Cane: I bet he did.
Jill: Well, he told me that Victoria let you go.
Cane: Yeah, she did. I cost her a lot of time and money. Jill, if only she had settled earlier. [Sighs]
Jill: Well, that would have been a lot more convenient for you, huh? And then lily wouldn't have had to find out that you had sex with a woman in Tokyo.
Cane: That's not what I meant, okay? And listen, I just had to tell my kids I got fired, so please, the last thing I want to do is have this conversation with you. Please just --
Jill: I know, I know. Just tell me one thing, please. How is lily doing?
Cane: Eh, she's better than I expected. She, uh, went through my phone, checked my texts, my e-mails, my phone calls, which is good, 'cause now she at least knows nothing happened with Juliet. And it makes me think for the first time that we can get through this.
Jill: All right, what you did -- [Sighs] -- Was really ugly. It was awful. I-I know.
Cane: I know.
Jill: But the truth is that lily is not about to throw away everything the two of you have over a one-night stand.
Cane: [Scoffs] So Billy obviously didn't tell you everything, huh?
Jordan: Then you're doing okay...sort of.
Lily: I'm still whole for now.
Jordan: Cane's out?
Lily: Yeah, I couldn't sit here waiting for the DNA results with him around, which just adds to the joy of him getting let go today.
Jordan: Oh, man. [Sighs] I'm sorry to hear that. Not much of a surprise, though. How is cane taking the hit?
Lily: He's trying to stay positive. You know, he updated his résumé, searching for job postings, reaching out to recruiters. He told the kids today.
Jordan: Yeah?
Lily: Yeah. By himself.
Jordan: [Sighs] Not fun at all.
Lily: No. [Sighs] I need to just get myself together before Charlie and Mattie get here. I don't want them to see me like this.
Jordan: Well, they're not here, so whatever you need me to do --
Lily: I don't know what I need except just to talk to somebody. At least I still have my job.
Jordan: Well, there's a positive right there.
Lily: Yeah, I saw Billy and Victoria, and they assured me that the lawsuit would not reflect on me.
Jordan: That -- that's got to make you feel a whole lot better.
Lily: I really wish it did.
Abby: Victoria, hi.
Victoria: It looks nice.
Abby: I assume you're just stopping by for a little visit. You didn't suddenly feel like helping out.
Victoria: Uh, you know, I would have stopped by sooner, but things have just been a little hectic, that's all.
Abby: Right, yeah, yeah. I totally know how that is, you know, with my incubator project, and then, well, dad basically put me in charge of this entire event. But you know what? Suddenly it just somehow gets done. Did you see all of the preparations all for your mother? Are you gonna actually have time to make it tomorrow night? Can you fit that into your schedule? I mean, we would all understand 'cause we know how busy you are.
Pittman: Excuse me. I was told one of you was in charge?
Abby: That would be me. How can I help you?
Pittman: Mr. Pittman, safety inspector.
Abby: Hi! Yes! Abby Newman. So nice to meet you. I heard you'd be stopping by today. Um, everything is all set for the inspection. I cannot wait for you to see what we've created for this event. So please follow me. What should I call you? You can call me Abby.
Pittman: Mr. Pittman.
Abby: Mr. Pittman. Right. All right. Um, shall we?
Nick: Hey.
Victoria: Hi. So I see dad asked you to come, too. Right. What am I thinking? If you had been asked by dad, you would have stayed away.
Nick: I'm here for mom's sake, just like I'll be tomorrow night.
Victoria: Good. Thank you. We all need to present a united front, all of us. It's what mom needs.
Nikki: Hi.
Victor: Oh. I see Chelsea finished your gown.
Nikki: Oh, yeah. She's so talented.
Victor: That's why I had her design it. I want things to be perfect tomorrow.
Nikki: You've thought of everything, haven't you?
Victor: I want the world to see that you're resilient and beautiful.
Nikki: I know you have great expectations for tomorrow night. I hope I don't disappoint you.
Victor: Why would I be disappointed? I just envision pure happiness on that stage.
Nikki: What if I told you I'm not sure if what you'll see is pure happiness?
Victor: Why do you say that?
Hilary: I know that it is last-minute notice, Howard, but I need you. Victor Newman has given us access to all of the major players. Just -- just think of the gowns. Now that is good TV. Okay, so I need you to hop on a plane from L.A. And get your butt down here pronto. Thank you. [Sighs] All right.
[Knock on door] Juliet, this -- this isn't a good time, okay?
Juliet: I won't even talk to you. Just being alone in my room waiting for the paternity results is killing me. [Sighs] I don't know if it's the hormones or everyone just hating me, but... [Sighs] ...I just need some company.
Hilary: Why are you acting so nervous when you are so sure that cane is the father?
Jill: Juliet's pregnant?! Oh, my god! Honey! Why didn't you use protection?!
Cane: If I was sober enough to use protection, I wouldn't have slept with her in the first place. God, I was so drunk. I could barely even walk. She had to help me to the room. [Sighs] I didn't want her.
Jill: And yet you managed.
Cane: There was no harassment, all right? And this lawsuit is a joke. And we don't even know yet if there's any proof that I'm the father.
Jill: Yet. When will you know?
Cane: She took a DNA test, and we should get the results later today.
Jill: Oh, darling, you should be on your knees praying to god that that baby is not yours. How are you gonna fix this with lily? And your poor children. I don't -- I don't know how your family's ever gonna recover from this.
Cane: I don't know if we will.
Billy: You having trouble finding your office, jack? You're on the wrong floor.
Jack: Oh, I just wanted to discuss this quarter's sales figures for brash & sassy with Victoria or someone in a senior position.
Billy: Hmm. Uh, well, Victoria's not here. But let's be honest, okay? You're -- you're here to gloat because jabot's numbers are up by a billionth of a point. Congratulations on that. But rest assured, okay, brash & sassy isn't going anywhere.
Jack: Well, not yet, anyway. But if sales numbers are down now, you can only imagine how far they're gonna sink once this lawsuit drags on.
Billy: Well, the lawsuit's done.
Jack: Victoria settled?
Billy: It's over.
Jack: That is big news. She would have fought this thing if she thought she even had a chance, which means cane must have really screwed up.
Billy: Which is exactly why he doesn't work here anymore.
Jack: So Victoria not only wrote a check with a lot of zeroes in it. She also lost a high-level executive. Wow. What a drag. Please tell her jabot will be happy to take brash & sassy off her hands if it gets to be too much of a burden.
Billy: [Chuckles] That's a very sweet offer. But Victoria and I will be crushing jabot again soon.
Jack: Yeah. Sure you will. Uh, please tell your boss I expect the rent check paid on time. Have a good day.
Billy: [Sighs]
Nikki: I never wanted to do any of this. But I wasn't gonna walk away from a challenge. Tomorrow night...
Victor: You'll be great tomorrow night, okay? Our whole family's there to support you. Obviously you're nervous now, but that's normal. And this family is not a sham, no matter what you think.
Nikki: That's not what I was thinking.
Victor: That is what you're thinking. Anyway, I saw Victoria today. She had a serious problem in business, and, uh, I helped her get through it. She thanked me because she knows I'll never give up on family no matter what happens.
Nick: You know this whole thing is just one big power trip for dad. He gets to throw around some money. Mom will be at his side playing the dutiful, grateful wife in front of a bunch of socialites.
Victoria: Nick, I think he's trying to make amends. I think he misses her. He misses us.
Nick: Oh, man. Dad got to you. You caved. I knew you couldn't hold out.
Victoria: That's not true. I am absolutely with mom on this. Look, tomorrow night mom will play her pieces, and we will all smile, and we'll pose for the camera. We'll be the big, happy family, and then everything will go back to the way that it was. It's too late to cancel this shindig, so we might as well enjoy it.
Nick: [Sighs]
Jill: You seem to be able to mess your life up just as well as I ever did.
Cane: Yeah.
Jill: Okay, but here's the thing. I always, always manage to claw my way back. And now it's time for you to do the same thing. You got to make this right.
Cane: And I will, because I'll do whatever it takes.
Juliet: I know what the results will say. I'm just worried about how cane will react.
Hilary: Since when? The last time we had this conversation, you were so sure that cane would step up because he is such a good guy.
Juliet: He is a good guy.
Hilary: Who is married with kids already. [Scoffs] Don't expect the Ashbys to welcome you into the family.
Juliet: [Scoffs] You really are mean.
Hilary: I helped you with your case, but I didn't sign up for this baby mama drama. And I'm not gonna lose Jordan just because you have no other friends in town, so...

Hilary: [Scoffs] Well, I am also the only one who knows that you admitted that it wasn't really sexual harassment. I think you have enough on your plate without that little bit of information getting out.

Nick: The only thing you need to know is that this concert is not gonna happen.
