Episode # 11208 ~ Cane insists Juliet take a paternity test; Charlie interferes with Reed & Mattie's budding relationship; Michael & Paul search for Kevin.

Provided By Suzanne

Jordan: Hey.

Lily: Hey.

Jordan: Sorry it's not a triple shot of tequila.

Lily: [Chuckles] No, water's fine. Listen, we still don't know if cane's the father. And even if he is, he's not gonna run off with the woman, you know? They're work friends. That showed from their texts. Or they were, until she accused him of sexual harassment.

Jordan: Lily, analyze this all you like, but... but you're gonna drive yourself crazy. Cane loves you. He's got to be sick about all of this. But you need to be prepared. If Juliet decides to keep this baby, it's gonna change your family's life forever.

Mattie: This is so unreal. My mom works for your mom, too. Lily Ashby. She's the brand ambassador. Fancy name for a model, huh? [Chuckles]

Reed: Wow. She's literally the face of brash & sassy. Maybe you could follow in her footsteps and be the face for their teen line.

Mattie: No. [Chuckles] Modeling is not my thing. I like to eat, for one thing, and six lettuce leaves and half of a grape doesn't exactly say "lunch" to me.

Seriously. Is that what your mom does to stay slim?

Well, no. But she doesn't eat the junk I eat. What I'd love this summer is an internship there.

Reed: Hey, I'll put in a good word with my mom for you.

Mattie: Oh, I appreciate that. I really do. But I already asked my dad to talk to her about it.

Oh. That's totally cool. No worries.

Mattie: Yeah. I'm not trying to put you down or anything. My dad just might have more clout.

Reed: He probably does.

[Both laugh]

Cane: Are you really firing me?

Victoria: You're not actually surprised, are you? After what you cost this company? Did you not just see Juliet walk out of here with an enormous check in her hand?

Cane: If you give me another chance, I will make you back every dime. Please.

Paul: Not even a ring. It goes straight to voicemail.

Michael: Maybe Kevin turned it off.

Paul: [Sighs] Look, Michael, Kevin should've been back at work by now. He hasn't even once tried to contact me.

Michael: I haven't heard from him, either. Come on, he's in Tahiti. He's probably lounging next to some poolside bar, sipping his third blue tattoo.

Paul: Yeah.

Michael: After what he's been through, come on.

Paul: I understand he needed some time away. I would just feel better if he would pick up his phone. You know, you don't happen to have the name of the resort he's staying at, do you?

Michael: Yeah, right here.

Paul: Well, call them.

Michael: I still don't think this is a bad sign --

Paul: Humor me, Michael. Just call them!

Michael: Okay, I'm calling. Yes. Hello. Uh, I'd like to speak to one of your guests, Kevin fisher. I'm his brother, and it's urgent that -- Kevin. [Slowly] Kevin fisher. What? He never checked in?

Kevin: Chloe, relax. We're not being followed. It's gonna take dr. Harris a while to work his way out of those ropes. We're in the clear.

Chloe: Okay, so what's our plan?

Kevin: Uh...once we get back to Genoa city, I get you set up at a motel, and you wait there while I pick up Bella.

Chloe: No, I don't -- I don't want to split up. I want to go with you.

Kevin: No. No way. That is too dangerous.

Chloe: Kevin, this could be just as dangerous for you. Dr. Harris thinks that you went to Genoa city to get Bella. Once we unties those ropes, who do you think he's gonna call? His accomplice.

Lily: The very thought that cane could have had a kid with another woman... how do I tell Mattie and Charlie that they could have a brother or a sister that their mom had nothing to do with?

Jordan: Hey, relax.

Lily: I know. I'm sorry.

Jordan: Hey, hey. Don't be. God knows, none of this is your fault. [Sighs] How far along is Juliet?

Lily: 13 weeks. The exact time cane was in Tokyo.

Jordan: [Sighs] How much do the twins know?

Lily: [Sighs] They know about the sexual-harassment lawsuit. You know, we told them that cane was innocent. Which I believed at the time. But, god, they idolize their dad. You know? When they find out that not only was he unfaithful, but he lied to everyone -- and to their mother -- for months...

Jordan: [Sighs] I can't defend the man's actions. All I know is, if I had a wife like you, and a family that I loved more than anything...

Lily: I know what he did was wrong. And I can explain it to myself. But how do I explain it to two impressionable teenagers? You know, they know where babies come from. How do I tell them that their dad got drunk on a business trip, had unprotected sex with a woman he just met, and didn't remember? What kind of example does that set?

Reed: Want to go for a swim?

Mattie: Um...maybe later. [Chuckles nervously]

Reed: Come on. I'll race ya. Just one lap.

Mattie: Please. You'd be choking on my wake.

Reed: Then prove it.

Mattie: I'd love to show you up, but I have reading I have to do for class. Just stay in the shallow end where you'll be safe.

Reed: All right. Then you better be here when I get back.

Lily: Well, you look pale, but you can stand. Does that mean you're okay?

Juliet: You mean as in "is anything wrong?"

Cane: Oh, you don't have to be sarcastic. You can just tell us what the doctor said, 'cause we waited to see how you are.

Juliet: Because you care so much. Maybe you think I'll be so touched, I'll drop the lawsuit.

Cane: No, we're hoping you'll drop the lawsuit 'cause it's bogus.

Juliet: I was prepared to settle. Victoria is the one who's pushing this.

Cane: That's 'cause she doesn't like being lied to.

Juliet: I'm telling the truth.

Lily: Juliet, I'm tired of hearing this, okay? Cane did not have sex with you.

Juliet: Well, then, explain this. I'm pregnant.

[Knock on door]

[Scoffs]

Hilary: Hi. Um... I'm sorry. Do you have company?

Juliet: No. Come in.

Hilary: Okay.

Juliet: What's up?

Hilary: I just -- I can't stop thinking about something that you said earlier.

Juliet: I've been saying a lot of things lately.

Hilary: Do you really think that, after everything that happened, you and cane can just put your differences aside and raise this child together?

Juliet: It's not that far-fetched. A baby changes everything.

Hilary: Yes, but cane already has a family.

Juliet: I know that.

Hilary: Then you should also know that he's not about to give them up for a woman who tried to drag him into court on a lie.

Juliet: With your help.

Hilary: Okay, I did not --

Juliet: No, no. But you were all too eager to help me find a lawyer and spearhead this whole thing, so don't -- don't stand there and act like your hands are clean.

Hilary: [Scoffs]

Juliet: Oh... [Sighs] I'm sorry. I lost my cool.

Hilary: It's okay. I... I understand.

Juliet: And, yes, I know where things stand between cane and me. But the baby is innocent in all this.

Hilary: Juliet, listen to me. I know these people, okay? Up until a few months ago, I was family. So you're deluding yourself if you think that you're gonna get anything more than child support from cane. Okay? You cannot obligate him to be a parent, or to care about you or your baby.

Juliet: Despite what everyone thinks, I am not after more money. I just want to make sure my child isn't deprived of a father.

Cane: Just hear me out, all right? I have some ideas for some projects that will help you recoup every penny I cost you.

Victoria: You can take those ideas to your next job, because your time here is through.

Cane: I can't take them with me. They're proprietary, which means you own them, all right? It's a marketing plan between the hockey league and Japan.

Victoria: [Scoffs] Oh, god. Japan again? Do you really want to go down that road, cane?

Cane: Listen, I have put my heart and soul into this company, all right, and I can prove my worth to you --

Victoria: It's too late. It's too late!

Cane: ...That I alone am responsible for. You've relied on me once before. Please, just give me another chance. Please. I'm sorry.

Victoria: I relied on you before, and look at what it's cost me. Look! A loss in profits, neglected clients...

Cane: I know. I know.

Victoria: ...Sleepless nights, days and nights away from my kids. I can't get that back, cane. That's on you.

Cane: I will make it up to you, all right? Look, Jill put us together for a reason.

Victoria: Jill does not have a stake in this company. And regardless of your track record... [Sighs] I can never trust you again.

Cane: But you can trust Billy, a man who's repeatedly lied to you, repeatedly cheated on you, and repeatedly let you down.

Victoria: Do you really want to measure your value against Billy's? Your rivalry isn't exactly a selling point. Look, it just gives me more reason to want to let you go, to tell you the truth.

Cane: If you had fired Billy instead of Juliet, none of this would have happened.

Victoria: Cane, I am not second-guessing my decision. And I am actually surprised at your response. I would have thought that you would have done the right thing and resigned. Stop fighting this. Go home and repair the damage done to your family. That's your new full-time job now.

Michael: Uh, Kevin never checked in. He never even canceled his reservation at the resort.

Paul: [Sighs]

Michael: He's a complete no-show.

Paul: Now I'm really worried.

Kevin: Paul, my brother likes to be spontaneous. You might have noticed that yourself from time to time. Look, maybe he changed his mind, decided he liked another resort better once he hit the island. I mean, for all we know, he may be camped out on the beach.

Paul: Fine. Fine, Michael. I just want to be on the safe side.

Michael: I understand. I understand.

Paul: You know, and it's not gonna be easy to locate him, either, now that I've lost my -- my top tracker/hacker. And the truth is, the person I trust most to find Kevin... is Kevin.

Kevin: Harris' accomplice may not even be in Genoa city.

Chloe: Let's just say he is.

Kevin: Babe, not only am I the best tracker at the GCPD, I also know when I'm being followed. Don't worry. I will keep a lookout for anyone suspicious. I drive to the house, pick up Bella, we say our goodbyes, and we zip out of town.

Chloe: I just wish that Bella could see her mommy and daddy together.

Kevin: How do I put this? Everybody thinks you're dead. You need to stay dead. And the best way to do that is to keep yourself hidden. Especially in your hometown, where everybody knows you by sight. Hey, look, I know you're not thinking clearly. Dr. Harris shook you up with all his crazy delusions.

Chloe: [Sighs] Shook me up? No, going to a restaurant and leaving your purse behind in the booth and having to race back to get it, that will shake you up. What I went through at that house with doctor "let's pretend that you're my dead daughter," that -- that was terrifying.

Kevin: Yeah. I'm sure. But you're safe now. I need you to take a deep breath, do your part, and trust me to handle the rest.

Chloe: [Sighs] You really think that we can pull this off?

Kevin: Yes. I'll use what I learned about the witness protection program to arrange our new life. And it's safe for me to be back in Genoa city. Everybody thinks I was just on a vacation in Tahiti.

Chloe: [Scoffs] Seriously? You don't even have a tan.

Kevin: Okay, look, my point is you can't come with me. Nobody can know that you faked your own death.

Chloe: I just -- my mom is gonna have to mourn for me. I... [Sighs]

Kevin: Yeah, that is... very unfortunate. I know it's not gonna be easy for Esther. But remember, everything that we're doing is for your safety and Bella's happiness. Don't forget that.

Chloe: Okay.

Kevin: And right now, we got to eat.

Hilary: Speaking from experience, a child can turn out just fine without a father. Case in point.

Juliet: Hilary, I'm sorry you missed out. And I mean no disrespect. But you're kind of making it sound like fathers are expendable, and I totally disagree. Growing up, my father was my entire world. And the way cane's always talked about his kids, he is the same kind of amazing, loving parent. A true family man. Any child would be lucky to have him.

Hilary: Did your one-night stand in Tokyo mean more to you than you're letting on? Because the way that you're talking about cane... do you have feelings for him?

Lily: Thank you for dropping everything to come over. I'm sorry I unloaded all my problems on you.

Jordan: Listen, it's cool, okay? Don't be worried about that on top of everything else.

Lily: [Scoffs] Sure.

Jordan: Yeah. I'm there for you. Call me any time you need to vent. Otherwise, I'll see you at the next photo shoot.

Lily: [Chuckles] I don't know, we may have had our last photo shoot together already.

Jordan: What do you mean?

Lily: Well, I mean, brash & sassy hasn't been very enthusiastic about any upcoming appearances, or anything else, for that matter.

Jordan: Yeah, the place is crazed right now.

Lily: [Scoffs] Maybe it's because of cane's lies costing the company a gazillion dollars. Maybe Victoria doesn't want anyone named Ashby on the payroll right now.

Jordan: Oh, come on, now. Victoria will be fair. She isn't gonna hold any of this against you. You need to quit blaming yourself for cane's lies.

Lily: I just wish I knew how it got to this point. I liked working with cane. I felt like it made our marriage stronger. Even though I could tell that part of him didn't like me modeling again.

Jordan: Yeah, I picked up on that, too.

Lily: Maybe he didn't like all the attention I was getting, or the crazy hours I was putting in. Or the fact that I might have to do location shoots that would leave him to deal with the kids. You know, maybe that's what led him to --

Jordan: Lily. Stop right there. This is cane's mess. You didn't cause it, didn't make it, and you damn sure aren't responsible for cleaning it up. This is all on cane.

Cane: You don't have to drag my family into this.

Victoria: Cane, I don't mean to be harsh with you, but I gave you the chance to come clean. I defended you over and over again, and you lied to me. You lied to me about screwing up the deal in Tokyo, you lied to me about spending the night with Juliet, and about having sex with her. Now, I wish you well, but I want you out of this building by the time I get back, or I will have security escort you out.

Cane: All right, listen. Hey, Victoria. Please. Please! [Sighs]

[Car door opens]

Kevin: All right. We've got two -- what? What's wrong?

Chloe: Nothing, I just didn't see you walking up.

Kevin: Chloe, it's fine. We're fine.

Chloe: I know. I know. You're right. What -- what is that smell?

Kevin: Bon appétit! The best curly fries in America, so says their sign, and two corn dogs.

Chloe: Okay, so, how long is it gonna take to get Bella?

Kevin: Not long. We pack a few bags, some of her favorite toys, and we hit the road. Anything we forget, we pick up along the way. Mmm. Man, I am starved. Have some of these. Chloe, you got to eat.

Chloe: Can we just get on with it? I'm starting to lose my nerve, Kevin.

Kevin: No, no, no. Don't do that. I need you to be brave. I-I-I take that back. You are brave. What you just did with dr. Harris proves that. So just stay strong. You're doing great.

Chloe: I want to. And I want to see my daughter, but it...

Kevin: Okay. I know what's really going on here.

Chloe: You -- you do?

Kevin: Yeah. We haven't had a chance to talk about it, but it's time we face it head-on.

Michael: Come on, Kevin. I'm with Paul at the coffeehouse, trying to reach you. This radio silence has got us worried, so check in as soon as you get this. And I mean it. Paul... at what point would we --

Paul: Ah-da-da-da! I will do what I can.

Michael: Thank you.

Paul: Via very legal channels.

Michael: Yeah, of course.

Paul: At the very least, I should be able to narrow down his whereabouts.

Michael: Thank you, Paul. I appreciate that. And you just gave me an idea.

Paul: Where are you going?

Michael: Unh-uh. I'm tracking down a lead.

Paul: You want me to come with you?

Michael: No, no, no. Stay here. Keep trying to track down Kevin.

Paul: All right, look, Michael, if you --

Michael: Trust me, Paul. If it pans out, I'll let you know. All right?

Paul: All right.

Reed: Whew! The water temp is perfect. You should join me next time.

Mattie: [Chuckles]

Charlie: Got some complaints about you, guitar boy.

Reed: What? What kind of complaints?

Charlie: That you kicked some guests while you were swimming.

Mattie: Which guests? Point to them so that reed can go apologize.

Charlie: I can't. Club has...privacy rules.

Mattie: Uh-huh. Right.

Charlie: I don't even get why you want to hang out with this loser.

Reed: Hey, easy, pal.

Charlie: You know -- easy yourself.

Mattie: Guys, come on.

Charlie: I-I just -- I'm telling you, this guy's gonna get you in trouble.

Reed: Chuck, I swear, I would never do such a thing.

Charlie: My name's not chuck.

Reed: Oh, I'm -- I'm -- I'm sorry. Uh...chucky? Chuckles...?

Charlie: [Mutters]

Gabrielle: Hey, Charles -- call me later.

Mattie: Who was that?

Reed: She looks like trouble.

Hilary: Am I right? Do you have some underlying feelings for cane?

Juliet: Stop fishing, okay? You are reading way too much into this.

Hilary: After what you --

Juliet: My night with cane in Tokyo was just that -- one night, nothing more.

Hilary: Okay. So that's it? You're sure? You don't want to curl up here with cane and knit booties and wait for the baby to come?

Juliet: Cane and I were good friends before.

Hilary: Exactly. Friendship, in the past tense. You should keep it that way.

Juliet: Well, I would like to believe that we can get back to that. Get it back to what it was. Cane isn't the type to penalize our child for my actions.

Hilary: [Sighs] I think that that's a tall order, considering the lives and possible careers that you have ruined.

Juliet: Hilary, I don't know who your parents were, but I'm just guessing that negativity is just in your gene pool. So, for the record -- I never wanted or expected any of this. When I moved here from Japan, in a million years, I wouldn't have envisioned an outcome where I was pregnant by a married man. But maybe this baby can be a new beginning. End all the animosity. Starting with cane.

[Knock on door]

Juliet: Hi. Come in.

Cane: Well. Should've guessed you'd be here celebrating, huh?

Juliet: Hilary was just leaving.

Hilary: Are you sure about that? Okay. Fine. I will leave you to yourselves. [Sighs]

Juliet: It's good to see you. We haven't had a moment alone since I got the news from my doctor.

Cane: Wow. And you actually said that without gloating or flaunting the check in my face, huh?

Juliet: I have no intention of doing that, cane. This baby changes everything.

Cane: Well, you took the check, didn't you? Which makes me think this is one big old trap. So let me ask you this, all right? How many times have you got pregnant, you know, for that big payoff?

Juliet: I'm sorry you feel the need to insult me. I would never do such a thing. This pregnancy's thrown me for a loop.

Cane: Okay. I'm supposed to believe that, huh? After you accuse me of sexual harassment, which we both know didn't happen. You know, I'm starting to think that it's you who is the harasser here, you know that?

Juliet: That is ridiculous.

Cane: Oh, is it really? Okay. You know, you were pretty insistent about the division manager job, weren't you? So [Sighs] Did you plant the earring in the bed? Did you put the camisole in my suitcase so that, when I got home, lily would find it instead of me? How far are you willing to go? 'Cause I'm starting to think that all of this is just one big scam.

Juliet: Do you even begin to realize how offensive that sounds? So, how did this grand scam of mine work, huh? I didn't orchestrate getting fired by having Billy botch the biggest deal of the year. That was just my dumb luck.

Charlie: Her name's Gabrielle, and she's not trouble. She and her parents are guests at the club, and she asked me to show her around later.

Reed: Does Zoey know about this? Why don't you take Gabrielle past Zoey's house on your little tour route?

Charlie: You know, you're gonna run that big mouth of yours one too many times.

Reed: And then what?

[Whistle blows]

Charlie: I got to go back to work. Don't disturb any more guests. Last warning.

Reed: Oh, I wouldn't dream of it, Charles. It's official. Your brother can't stand me.

Mattie: You're hardly a fan of his, either. [Laughs]

Reed: [Sighs] Yeah, well... you don't think he's a cocky jerk sometimes?

Mattie: I mean, sometimes. But I'm allowed to call him that. You can't. Besides, he's not always like that. Charlie's actually really great once you get to know him.

Reed: [Sighs] I don't see that happening.

[Both chuckle]

Reed: Unless it's his fist getting to know my face.

[Mattie laughs]

Reed: Is it just me, or does he just want to punch every guy who likes you?

Mattie: Mm...a lot of guys like me. Apparently you're just special. In Charlie's eyes, I mean. For some reason, you just bug the crap out of him.

Reed: Wait, let's go back. A lot of guys like you? Are we -- are we talking currently or past tense? And are you into any of them back?

Mattie: Let's not get into a big thing about who "likes" me, and focus on when we're gonna go see that movie. Also, I hate getting stuck doing all the planning because I'm the "organized" one.

Reed: All right. I'll pick the movie.

Mattie: Thanks. Um... nothing too gory or depressing. Everything else is fair game. Uh, text me. Bye. Oh! Hi, Hilary.

Hilary: Mattie, hey. Well, you look like you're in a good mood.

Mattie: No reason not to be, right? Well, I got to go. Charlie's at the pool if you want to say hi. Later.

Hilary: [Taps] You awake in there?

Jordan: I am now. Sit down.

Hilary: Well, thank you for the invite. So, um... how did things go with lily?

Jordan: You knew Juliet was pregnant, didn't you?

Chloe: What is it you think you've figured out?

Kevin: Well, things have been moving so fast, you know? We didn't get a chance to talk about this at dr. Harris', but we're gonna talk about it now. What led us down this road in the first place. You killing Adam.

Chloe: I don't really want to get into it right now.

Kevin: Well, we're gonna talk about it. I need you to know that I understand what drove you to do it. And I know you would never intentionally hurt somebody.

Chloe: I only wanted justice for Delia.

Kevin: [Sighs] And now that you have it, I think you've found some peace. Do I wish you hadn't done it? Yes. But I will never question your sanity or your motives, and I'm never, ever going to abandon you. We have our whole lives together as long as we stick to this plan.

Esther: Kevin's missing? Oh, my god.

Michael: All right, listen to me, Esther. Nobody is panicking. Nobody is saying Kevin is missing. He just didn't check into his resort. And I came here hoping that he had been in touch with you. Hm?

Esther: I haven't heard from him.

Michael: Hm.

[Cell phone rings]

Michael: Oh, sorry. Excuse me. Yeah, hello, Paul.

Paul: I have news.

Victoria: Can I get a vodka martini, straight up, dry? Uh, skip the olive. Thank you.

Reed: Little early for cocktail hour.

Victoria: Oh [Sighs] Yeah. Well, not today. Hi. What are you doing here?

Reed: I'm just hanging out with a friend by the pool. I came to get more sunscreen.

Victoria: Oh, okay. Well, I hope you're having a better day than I am.

Reed: Why? What's -- what's wrong? Is there a problem at work?

Victoria: [Sighs] I had to pay off that disgruntled ex-employee who sued me, and I also had to let go of a very valuable executive.

Lily: Time after time, you've lied. You were covering it up!

Cane: It was a one-time mistake. And I told you already, I just didn't want to hurt you. And then it just spun out of control, and I was helpless to stop it.

Lily: No, you weren't helpless. You were weak. There's a difference.

Cane: Sweetheart --

Lily: Listen, I know that I cheated on you in the past. I know that I took us for granted, and that was wrong. But what you did was so much worse.

Cane: I know.

Lily: You let me stand up for you and defend you to people, and say, "no, my husband would never do that."

Cane: I'm sorry.

Lily: And then you let me find out the truth in the worst possible way in public. Where that "one-time mistake" hands me a piece of paper that says that you got her pregnant. Do you know how humiliating that is?

Cane: I do.

Lily: Did you do this to get back at me for Joe Clark?

Cane: No, no, no. No, I forgave you for that. We put that behind us, and we fixed us. We fixed us. We did.

Lily: And now you're tearing us apart all over again.

[Lock turns]

Lily: [Gasps, sighs] Hi.

Mattie: Hey, mom. When's dad coming home?

Lily: Um...I don't know. Not sure.

Mattie: Oh, no wonder he didn't answer my texts. His phone's here.

Lily: Oh, he must have, uh -- must have forgotten in.

Mattie: Has he checked in at all? Said anything about my internship at brash & sassy?

Lily: Yeah, Mattie, look, I don't want you to get your hopes up about that.

Mattie: Why not?

Lily: Because there's just a lot of turmoil there right now. You know, and if it doesn't work out, we'll get you an internship somewhere else. We know a lot of people in town.

Mattie: So I found out today.

Lily: You found out what?

Mattie: Remember that musician guy I went and saw at open-mike night?

Lily: Oh, the one that you don't like?

Mattie: Turns out you know him yourself. Reed Hellstrom?

Lily: Victoria's son?

Mattie: Yeah -- your and dad's favorite boss. Weird, huh?

Jordan: I could tell when I left for lily's that you were holding something back.

Hilary: I didn't do anything wrong. In fact, I did the right thing by keeping Juliet's pregnancy a secret. It wasn't my news to tell.

Jordan: That never stopped you before.

Hilary: [Scoffs] Well, this was different, okay? And I didn't broadcast it on my show or rub it in lily's face. I understand that lily and the twins, they are innocent victims. And... I respected their privacy and their boundaries by staying silent, okay?

Jordan: [Sighs] I'm not upset with you. I'm upset with the situation, and with cane.

Hilary: Yeah.

Jordan: [Sighs]

Hilary: I'm sure that lily is pretty distraught.

Jordan: Yeah, considering how much of a road crash this is, she's holding it together pretty well.

Hilary: Well, if she's too calm, it could be worse.

Jordan: How so?

Hilary: Hell hath no fury. It's possible that her sole ambition is to pay cane back for humiliating her. She could be looking for just the right guy to cheat on hubby with all over again.

Cane: I never planned on us having sex.

Juliet: [Scoffs] Well, neither did I, but it happened. And it's obviously not all my fault. It takes two to make a baby, and you are acting like you are the only one who's life has been turned upside down.

Cane: Oh, my life's been turned upside down 'cause I just got fired.

Juliet: Cane, I'm sorry.

Cane: Well, I'm not here for your sympathy, okay? I'm here for something else.

Juliet: What?

Cane: We're gonna go and have a paternity test. Right now.

Michael: Right. Okay. Well, thank you, Paul. Let me know if you hear anything else. Yeah. Uh, Kevin never boarded his flight to Tahiti.

Esther: I should have known that this was a bad idea, for him to run off on his own in the state he was in. What are we gonna do?

Michael: Now, his passport wasn't used, so we have to assume he's still in the country. Paul put out an APB on him in case he's closer to home that we think --

Kevin: Well, he can call it off, because here I am. Safe and sound.

Esther: Oh, Kevin!

Michael: Oh, my -- hey!

Kevin: Hi.

Esther: We were so worried about you.

Michael: What happened? What happened to you face? Why is it all scraped up?

Kevin: Oh, it's nothing.

Esther: Uh, it doesn't look like nothing.

[Kevin hisses]

Esther: Ooh.

Kevin: I was, uh... I was on a hike. I-I -- I took a spill.

Michael: Not in Tahiti you didn't. We know you weren't in Tahiti.

Esther: Where did you go?

Kevin: Uh, believe it or not, Oregon.

Michael: Why Oregon?

Kevin: Because I'm moving there. I'm taking Bella with me.

Esther: What?!

Jordan: Ain't no way lily's out for some revenge sex.

Hilary: [Scoffs] Well, you weren't in town when she hit the sheets with Joe Clark.

Jordan: Yeah, I know about that. Lily owned up to it, which proves to me that she's not interested in payback.

Hilary: You really think she can get past cane's affair? Don't get me wrong... I'm -- I'm worried that she's setting herself up to get hurt big time. But I know that lily's determined to hold her family together, which includes standing by her man.

Lily: So, when did you make this connection?

Mattie: At the pool today. I ran into reed, and we started talking. I mentioned wanting the internship at brash & sassy, and we both just realized. Mom, are you okay?

Lily: Yeah. I'm fine.

Mattie: No, you're not. You've been off the past couple days. I've seen it. Is it dad?

Lily: Why would you say that?

Mattie: Because it just... I don't know. It just seems like you two don't want me going anywhere near your work. Please, I want to hear it from you and not GC buzz. Is dad in some kind of trouble?

Victoria: So, you were hanging at the pool with a friend?

Reed: Yeah.

Victoria: A boy or a girl?

Reed: A girl. [Sighs] The one Billy was giving me such a hard time about.

Victoria: Oh, yes. The one without the name. And she goes to walnut grove.

Reed: Mm-hmm.

Victoria: Are you dating her now?

Reed: [Sighs] Yes. No. Um...I'm -- I'm not really sure. But she asked me to pick out a feel-good movie for us to go see, so that's kind of cool.

Victoria: That's really good. It's a good first-date movie. It's nice and safe.

Reed: Mm-hmm.

Victoria: Is she here? I would like to meet her.

Reed: No, she left a little while ago. But get this -- you already know her.

Victoria: I do?

Reed: Yeah. Mattie Ashby. Cane's daughter. I had no idea. What a crazy coincidence, huh? What? What -- what -- what's wrong? What are you doing?

Victoria: Cane is the person I fired today.

Juliet: I am really not up for a paternity test right now. It's been an emotional day.

Cane: Yeah. Well, after all the lies you've told, see, I just can't take your word that I'm the father.

Juliet: My concern is for the baby. Is a test even possible at this stage?

Cane: Yeah. It's a simple blood test. It's not gonna hurt the fetus.

Juliet: Mm. Well, we still have to make an appointment.

Cane: Don't have to. I've already done it. So. Let's go. You know what, if you're not lying, you don't have anything to lose. Come on.

Juliet: Then let's do it.

Next on "the young and the restless"...

Mariah: Do you think you ever get over the love of your life?

Kevin: Please tell me you understand, and that you're gonna let me do this, and not make this any harder than it already is?

Nikki: I am ready to walk out on that stage tomorrow.

Nick: You're not doing that.
