Episode # 11189 ~ Victor makes a dangerous decision; Ashley schemes with Jack; Nikki lashes out at Tessa.
Provided By Suzanne
Scott: Long night studying?
Sharon: I put in an extra shift at the crisis hotline.
Scott: Same day as chloe's service? Woman, you are made of tough stuff.
Sharon: You know, for someone so young, to feel so alone in the world, like death was the only answer, I -- makes me remember how lucky I am that i have so many supportive people in my life.
Scott: Yesterday got to me, toO. Watching kevin go through all that, it's kind of got me looking at things a little different now.
Chloe: You're just gonna take this address, you're gonna meet me there, and you're not going to say a word to anyone.
[ Door opens ]
Paul: Well, sorry that took so long. I had to pull some strings.
Kevin: Oh. [ Chuckles ] And?
Paul: Uh, yes. Your vacation request has been approved.
Kevin: Ah! Awesome. I know it was short notice.
Paul: Yeah, well, apparently you're in tight with the chief.
Kevin: [ Chuckles ] Thanks.
Paul: You're welcome. So, I gather that you and bella are headed to the airport?
Kevin: Uh, actually, i decided it would be best for bella to stay here with esther while I, uh...Figure things out.
Paul: You know, this time to yourself is really good for you right now.
Kevin: Uh, hey, paul, there was one other reason I came by. Chloe's death -- has -- has there been any other word?
Paul: You know that the medical examiner in louisiana ruled her death a suicide.
Kevin: Uh, what about that doctor that she was staying with? Um, h-harris, I think it was?
[ Cellphone rings ]
Dr. Harris: Chloe, go rest. I need to take this. We just walked in the door.
Victor: Any trouble getting back?
Dr. Harris: All went as planned.
Victor: Now that the world thinks chloe is dead, I want you to take very, very good care of her.
DR. Harris: Chloe's in excellent hands, mr. Newman. I plan to devote myself to her treatment.
Ashley: If our mother is in trouble, what can we do to help her?
Jack: Let's go back. Let's talk about graham and this theory of yours.
Ashley: Well, obviously, he must be threatened by us. Given our history with our mother, I'm sure he never anticipated that we'd actually have some kind of a connection with her.
Jack: Neither did we.
Ashley: Thank you. And now that he knows, he's trying to do whatever he can to drag dina back to paris before we can get our hooks in her any deeper.
Jack: I have to admit, he does have an undue amount of...influence.
Ashley: I think the world is "control."
Jack: You think mother's afraid of him?
Ashley: I think we need to find out before they get on a plane.
Jack: So, which one of us talks to her?
Ashley: Well, you do, jack. I mean, you have a much better rapport than I do.
Jack: Well, there's a problem in getting her alone. He's like a constant shadow with her, and now that they're talking about leaving town...
Ashley: Mm. I think I have an idea.
Dina: I'm really gonna miss this place.
Graham: Yeah, it's comfortable enough, I suppose.
Dina: I'm not talking about the club. I'm talking about genoa city.
Graham: Yeah, the trip has been a success on many levels -- finalizing the sale, spending time with your family...
Dina: It brought back so many memories.
Graham: And some difficult emotions.
Dina: Well, that's to be expected, but...everything's fine now. I'm fine.
Graham: And now you're leaving on a high note. Surely, you can see that's for the best.
[ Cellphone rings ] This is graham.
Ashley: Hi. It's ashley -- abbott.
Graham: Good morning. What can I do for you?
Ashley: The other night when my mother was here, she mentioned that she wanted a photo album that we have, and i found it in the attic, and I'd like to get it to you before the two of you leave.
Graham: Of course. In fact, I'll...come by and pick it up myself.
Ashley: Are you sure it's no trouble?
Graham: None at all. I'll be there shortly.
Ashley: Thank you. Bye-bye.
Jack: Wow, did you have that guy pegged. Last thing he wants is for us to get anywhere near dina again.
Ashley: Exactly. So I'll stall him, and you find out what's going on from her, okay?

Nikki: Thank you for letting me use your club to practice.
Noah: Yeah. My pleasure. Although I was a little surprised I got the call. I mean [Chuckles] The keyboard here is fine, works great, but, uh, not exactly the grand piano at the ranch.
Nikki: Well, this is a very important concert, and I want to be as prepared as I can be. My playing is a little rusty. Even tessa agrees with that, so I just -- I want to be able as comfortable onstage as I can be.
Noah: Yeah, makes sense. Well, hey, you are always welcome here, grandma.
Nikki: Thank you.
Noah: I think it's great that you're working with tessa. I mean, she's absolutely at home in front of a crowd. And listen, as soon as you get onstage and start cranking out that music, you're gonna kill it.
Nikki: [ Sighs ] Well, thanks for your encouragement, but just the thought of playing in front of all those people's is very... intimidating.
Noah: Well, we're gonna be here cheering you on. All right, and it's for a great cause.
Nikki: I know.
[ Doorbell buzzes ]
Noah: Oh, there's my package. I'll see you in a bit.
Nikki: Okay.
[ Slow-tempo music plays ]
[ Off-key notes play ]
[ Music stops ] Okay.
[ Music resumes ]
[ Off-key notes play ]
[ Music stops ] Damn it!
[ Music resumes ]
[ Off-key notes play ]
[ Music stops ] Oh! Tessa.
Tessa: Hi. Sorry I'm late.
Nikki: No, no, y-you're not late. I was early. Let's, uh, let's get to work, shall we?
[ Chuckles nervously ]
Kevin: Will this doctor be charged with anything? Harboring a fugitive?
Paul: Well, I've been in touch with the police chief in louisiana.
Kevin: And?
Paul: Well, dr. Harris admitted that chloe came to him for help, and the police there were satisfied that he did not know that she was wanted for murder. Harris wasn't there when chloe took those pills. I think what we have here is a guy that was trying to do a good thing.
Kevin: So...that's it, then.
Paul: Kevin, there's no reason for the police to press charges. And there is really no reason for you to pursue this, either. It's only gonna keep you from moving on. Listen, chloe was safe and well taken care of the last few months of her life. I would hold on to that.
Kevin: I'll try.
Paul: I wish you a wonderful, healing trip. I do. You take these two weeks to do whatever you need, to do for yourself.
Kevin: Thank you, paul -- for everything.
Paul: You bet. Be careful.
Kevin: I will.
Paul: If you need anything else, let me know.
Kevin: Okay. All right.
Paul: And send me a postcard!
Kevin: I'll do my best to remember.
Paul: Okay.
Kevin: See ya.
Paul: Okay.
Dr. Harris: I don't anticipate any further issues, mr. Newman. Goodbye.
Chloe: I'm tired, but
[Sighs] I couldn't sleep.
Dr. Harris: Well, you may feel groggy for a day or two. The drugs I gave you were quite powerful. It was important that this look real.
Chloe: Then no one's coming to kill me?
Dr. Harris: Of course not, chloe. Where would you get such an outlandish idea?
Chloe: I heard you say to victor that you were going to start using the "nuclear option".
Dr. Harris: Yes, it -- it's what we agreed to in the beginning. Remember that if anyone came close to finding you, we would have to resort to extreme measures.
Chloe: It's what he explained to me when he brought me here.
Dr. Harris: All right, then you should understand why it's necessary now that your friends have tracked you down.
Chloe: [ Voice breaking ] I'll lose everything.
Dr. Harris: I'm afraid it's the only recourse. Everyone you know must believe that you're dead.
Chloe: It's gonna be so hard on them.
[ Exhales sharply ] I guess in a way, it'll be a relief. And -- and I can't go to prison, and...I won't go back to that hospital. I won't go back.
Dr. Harris: Provided all goes smoothly, you won't have to.
Chloe: I need to hear victor promise me that.
Dr. Harris: Very well.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Victor: Yes?
Dr. Harris: My guest wants to speak with you.
Chloe: Victor. Dr. Harris just filled me in.
Victor: Why are you calling me?
Chloe: I need to hear you promise me. It's what we discussed. This will only look real. I need to trust that you'll keep your word.
Victor: I'm a lot of things, but I'm not a murderer, okay? We're merely staging your death. Once you're through this ordeal, you'll go back to dr. Harris, who will take very good care of you. He will protect you from the rest of the world.
Scott: You know how, every so often, you have one of those "life's too short" kind of moments? That was me yesterday. Seeing kevin in tears and the love of his life gone forever. Lifting up his daughter and holding her there so she could place a little stuffed toy on her mom's casket. That's when it hit me. I can't go on the way I have been.
Sharon: At newman, you mean.
Scott: Yeah. I know what I owe victor, and i want to honor that debt. I've tried, but I'm a journalist, I'm a writer. I can't keep pretending that i give a damn about business. I just don't have it in me.
[ Sighs ] I think I'm gonna give him my notice today.
Sharon: Well, you're an honorable person. I know that you didn't come to this decision lightly. You need to quit for your own sanity.
Scott: I appreciate that.
Sharon: However, I don't imagine victor will be too happy.
Scott: Yeah, probably not, but he'll survive without me.
Sharon: So, any other plans for future career?
Scott: You need a barista?
Sharon: I think you're a little overqualified.
Scott: I'll have you know, I've made coffee all over the world, in some pretty hectic conditions. I was in the desert, the jungle, war zones. I think that's pretty good training for genoa city.
Sharon: It's a little more tame over here. I think you'd be bored.
Scott: Why don't you lean in closer and I might be able to show you why that will never happen.
Noah: [ Groans ] Man.
Scott: Really?
Noah: My timing sucks.
Sharon: [ Chuckles ]
Scott: Don't they have coffee at the underground?
Noah: They do. Not as good as my mom'S.
Scott: Geez.
Noah: To go, please. I need to get back.
Sharon: Coming right up.
Noah: So, you'll never guess who I'm hanging out with today.
Sharon: Who?
Noah: Grandma. She's practicing for her concert, and tessa's helping her out.
Sharon: Oh, well, that was nice of you to offer to give them some space. Tessa seems like a very... special young lady.
Scott: Your mom's, uh, subtle way of asking if you guys are a "thing".
Noah: Uh, we have gotten to know each other a little better, and yeah -- I like her. I, uh, like looking out for her.
Sharon: That almost sounds protective.
Noah: [ Sighs ] All right, look, an old boyfriend showed up in genoa city, and she had this huge reaction. And when I asked her about it, she was like, "no. No big deal".
Sharon: But you think it was.
Noah: I mean, as soon as she sees the guy, she starts talking about wanting to leave town. And then devon offered her a contract to record with his new streaming company. And instead of being super excited, she's acting all uncertain about it.
Scott: Could be unrelated to the ex.
Sharon: Or it could be the kind of trouble you don't need anything to do with, noah.
Noah: [ Taps table ]
Dina: Jack. Well, I thought we said goodbye last evening.
Jack: May I?
Dina: Well, of course, darling.
Jack: Then it's true? You are leaving today?
Dina: Tonight. Uh, but, yes. And I don't want to wear out my welcome.
Jack: Is that your decision or graham's?
Dina: This has always been our plan, jack.
Jack: That man works for you, not the other way around.
Dina: Well, I don't need reminding.
Jack: Maybe you do. The other night when you came to dinner and we talked about business, you were the sharp, brilliant, decisive woman our father fell in love with. When you are around graham, you become a person I don't even recognize.
Dina: Please don'T. We -- we had a lovely visit.
Jack: I thought so. We've related in ways I never thought were possible.
Dina: Well, I never dreamed that ashley and I could be civil and actually enjoy the evening together. And as far as abby goes, oh, i really hate leaving her. We were just getting to know one another.
Jack: Then don't go. You don't have to.
Dina: Yes, jack. I do.
Graham: It was thoughtful of you to go to the effort to find this. I'm sure it'll mean a lot to dina.
Ashley: I hope so. I made tea. I mean, if you're not in a hurry. I think we got off on the wrong foot when I was asking you questions about my mother the other day.
Graham: You mean interrogating me, don't you?
Ashley: [ Chuckles ] Well, i guess I'm trying to apologize, if you'll let me.
Graham: I suppose I have time for one cup.
Ashley: Okay. What would you like? Do you want, um, a little bit of milk or lemon?
Graham: Just a splash of milk is fine.
Ashley: Okay.
Graham: And you needn't apologize. I can be overly wary at times and have a tendency to hover. I can see how that might cause a misunderstanding.
Ashley: Well, you know what? Let me give you this. I think that my mother is very lucky to have somebody like you in her life.
Graham: On the contrary. I'm the lucky one. Dina is a very remarkable woman.
Ashley: I have to admit she is. Even though we've had this distance between us, I've always respected her business acumen. I mean, she's amassed a fortune. I can't help wonder as she's getting older, I mean, she's gonna leave behind an extraordinary estate.
Graham: Do you think I'm after her money?
Ashley: Are you?
Sharon: What do you really know about this ex of tessa's?
Noah: Nothing. She said that he was "sort of" an old boyfriend.
Scott: Meaning they weren't serious.
Noah: According to her. The way she reacted, she wasn't expecting him to come into town.
Scott: Did tessa talk to this guy?
Noah: I don't know. I don't know whether it was a bad breakup or what, but she's obviously in no rush to run into him again.
Sharon: So she said.
Noah: I don't think she'd lie to me.
Sharon: You know, when you're trying to get to know someone who you're interested in, they need to open up and be honest about their past. You shouldn't have to wonder and speculate. You know, a lie of omission is still a lie.
Noah: You're making me wish i hadn't said anything.
Sharon: [ Chuckles ] Noah, you're my son, and I love you, but you know that you have a long history of trying to rescue people. How many times have I seen you rush in and throw your heart on the line to help someone and you're always the one that ends up getting hurt, and I just don't want to see that happen again.
[ Slow-tempo music playing ]
[ Off-key notes play ]
[ Music stops ]
Tessa: No, no. You've just about got it. Just, uh, try it again...a bit more relaxed this time. You seem a little uptight, and it's gonna affect the way you attack the keys.
Nikki: Okay, I'll try.
Tessa: Okay.
[ Inhales sharply ]
Nikki: [ Clears throat ]
[ Music resumes ]
[ Off-key notes play ]
[ Music stops ]
[ Music resumes ]
[ Off-key notes play ]
[ Music stops ]
[ Sighs ] This -- this is just ridiculous. I-I -- why are we even bothering? I-I-I'm gonna look like a fool up there.
Tessa: I promise you won'T. That's why we're here... practicing.
Nikki: This concert is critical. The cream of society is gonna be out there deciding how wide to open up their checkbooks. And I'm not gonna be very inspiring if -- if I keep messing up every other measure. I mean, they're gonna think that my ms has flared up right before their eyes.
Tessa: Hey, you can go looking for disaster if you want. I happen to believe you'll be fantastic.
Nikki: I know that victor asked you to work with me, but it obviously isn't helping, and if want to give up right now, i completely understand. I won't hold it against you.
Tessa: What are you talking about? I'm not a quitter. And neither are you. You're the most generous person I know. The least I can do is give you a few pointers.
Nikki: Yeah, but they're not going to work. Don't you see? I am doomed to fail. This whole thing is set up to make me look bad!
Tessa: Why would anyone want to do that?
[ Paper rips ]
[ Zipper closes ]
Kevin: Okay.
[ Indistinct conversation ]
Victor: Well, hello, kevin.
Kevin: Chhha! Scare me to death, why don't you?
Victor: [ Chuckles ] Oh, I'm sorry. I guess you didn't hear me approach, did you?
Kevin: Uh...
Victor: So engrossed?
Kevin: I've just been -- I've been a little shaky lately.
Victor: Well, that's understandable. By the way, that gives me an opportunity to offer my sincere condolences.
Kevin: Thanks. I know how you feel -- um, how you felt about chloe, so if it's all the same, I'm gonna take that with a grain of salt.
Victor: Well, now, for whatever it is worth, that gives me no satisfaction, all right? Going somewhere?
Kevin: Uh, yeah. Taking a couple weeks' vacation to decompress, figure out where my life goes from here.
Victor: Good idea. Where are you going?
Kevin: Tahiti.
Victor: Oh.
Kevin: That's where chloe and I were gonna go on our honeymoon.
Victor: Is it a good idea to go somewhere alone now? Makes things worse.
Kevin: No, I'm not gonna be alone. I --
Victor: Oh.
"The young and the restless" will continue.
Kevin: Oh, I-I'm not gonna be alone.
[ Clears throat ] The place where I'm going -- it's a big tourist spot. There's gonna be lots of people there.
Victor: Tahiti's a nice place, you know. I've been there a few times. Where are you staying?
Kevin: Huh? Oh, um, uh, michael and lauren made all the plans. It was their idea. I haven't even looked at the itinerary yet.
Victor: I see.
Kevin: Yeah, yeah, since i got word about chloe, it's just been...just been trying to put one foot in front of the other.
Victor: I hope this trip will bring you some solace.
Kevin: Thank you. Whew. Okay.
Nikki: I don't know why i said that. I'm sorry.
Tessa: It's just nerves. Don't worry about it.
Nikki: Look, I -- I didn't mean to put you in this position, but, uh, having lived at the ranch for a while, I'm sure you have noticed that... there is some tension between mr. Newman and me.
Tessa: I mind my own business. Force of habit. Um...if me living there is making things more difficult --
Nikki: Oh, no, no. No, that's not why I said that at all. I mean, you're not causing a problem. You're very smart, and you can sense things and you're nonjudgmental. I guess that's why I can talk to you, because...at one time, i was you. And I look at my life the way it is today, I can't even...believe how I got here. I mean, being married to a man like victor, with such success and fame and notoriety. And after a while, your life just becomes maintaining an image, and you completely lose sight of who you really are. Oh, god. I know how that must have sounded like I'm complaining about this wonderful life that I've been blessed with, but...I'm at a crossroads. I have never been so uncertain about my future as I am right now.
Graham: You think I want to isolate dina -- keep her from getting closer to the family. That way, she'll leave me her millions without even a nickel left for the abbotts. That's fairly diabolical of me, isn't it?
Ashley: Don't you think it'd be strange if I didn't at least entertain the scenario?
Graham: When people see a man my age with dina, I'm used to them making those kinds of assumptions. But I actually gave you more credit. Despite your lingering resentments, I thought you knew your mother well enough to realize she's not the type of woman that can be manipulated.
Ashley: Okay, so you're telling me that you've never seen my mother's will?
Graham: I've never asked to see dina's estate plan, nor will I. I'm not expecting any inheritance.
Ashley: Okay, so when that unfortunate day comes when she does...pass, you're happy to walk away with nothing?
Graham: This conversation's taken a morbid turn. But to answer your question, I'll be more than fine. I'm being paid well for my services, and my background's in finance. Would you care to see my bank statements? I can pull them up on my phone, if you'd like.
Ashley: That won't be necessary.
Graham: Now, frankly, I'm appalled that your desire to be with dina centers around money and what you can get from her.
Ashley: I don't need my mother's money, and I did not bring this up because I care about getting an inheritance.
Graham: Right. It's because you care so much about her.
Jack: Why do you keep talking about having to leave as if it's not up to you?
Dina: Oh, since when do I do anything that isn't strictly my idea?
Jack: Tell me what's going on, mother. The truth this time. I'm worrieD. And, unlikely as it sounds, ashley's even more upset.
Dina: Well, you know, I -- i just think ashley can't see me with any other man except john.
Jack: Ashley has her issues with you. She's not denying that. But she's concerned -- deeply concerned. So am I.
Dina: I -- I know, but we've been through all that, and I-I'm really -- I'm doing fine. I'm doing just fine.
Jack: You look fine, you seem fine, but every time you're around graham...
Dina: He's protective.
Jack: Is that all it is? Something seems off here.
Dina: Jack, you're overreacting.
Jack: Am I really?
Dina: Yes.
Jack: So, you're willing to accept one evening together, one dinner, a few short conversations, and that's it? That's more than enough for you? I would have accepted that a while ago, but we have become closer on this trip than ever before. I watched you relate to your daughters for the first time in years. I watched you bonding with your granddaughter. And that song...
Dina: Yeah.
Jack: When was the last time you sang that? When I was a little boy? I'm amazed you remembered it.
Dina: Of course I do.
Jack: I remembered it, too.
Dina: [ Voice breaking ] Oh, jack, please.
Jack: And all those memories came back -- the good and the bad.
[ Rattling ] I want you to stay. And I have the distinct feeling you want the same thing.
Dina: Maybe I'll be back one day.
Jack: Why do you say it like that? Like it's not your choice? Is graham forcing you to leave and not come back?
[ Rattling ] Mother, talk to me. Talk to me. Tell me what is going on!
Graham: I know you don't like me. Or trust me. But you've shown so little interest in your mother's life up till now that this sudden concern on your part feels a bit...lacking. You've spent your whole life judging dina. You've never been close. And now you're shocked that she doesn't care to spend more time with you and your family. It's her choice, ashley. Not mine. Dina only wanted to stay a short while to see her children one more time. She's the one who insists on leaving.
Ashley: What do you mean, "one more time"?
Graham: Just that I don't expect we'll be back any time soon. And no one knows what the future holds. Have a pleasant day.
Noah: I get it. You made your point. And you don't have to worry, all right? Tessa is not a project. She's a beautiful, talented young woman who's about to sign her first recording contract. And we're not getting married. We're dating. That's it.
Scott: Hear, hear. And on that note... get it? See what I did there? Musical note? Ahh. Anyway, I got to go. Got to get back to the office and see if victor can squeeze me into his calendar.
Sharon: All right, good luck.
Scott: Oh, I'll take any i can get. Thank you. Noah.
Noah: Yeah, later, pal.
Scott: Pleasure, man.
Sharon: [ Chuckles ]
Noah: I like that dude.
Sharon: Yeah, I like him, too. But this conversation is not over.
Noah: But it could be.
Sharon: Mm. Okay. It's one thing to be attracted to tessa and to care about her, but you really don't know anything about her.
Noah: Isn't that the point of dating? To get to know somebody better?
Sharon: I'm just saying take it slow, all right? Humor your mother.
Noah: I think that tessa's been through some rough times. She doesn't trust people, especially men. So that's why I'm not pushing anything. Believe it or not, I actually have learned from my mistakes.
Sharon: You know, one day when you have kids of your own, you're gonna realize no matter how much they've grown, you still want to spare them any pain...but you know that you can'T. And you're a grown man. So I guess all I will say is... be careful?
Tessa: If you want to pick a simpler piece, one you'll feel more confident about --
Nikki: No, I have to take a break. I'll be back in a minute.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Victor: Yes?
Tessa: Mr. Newman, it's tessa. Is this a bad time?
Victor: Oh, not at all. How are things progressing with -- with nikki's concert material?
Tessa: That's why I'm calling. I'm afraid she might not be able to make it through this.
Victor: Now wait a minute, tessa. I think I made it clear to you that you're here to help her get through this.
Tessa: I have to ask -- why is it so important that she do this in public?
Victor: Because of what this concert will mean to so many people. And she won't want to let them down. So you don't let me down. Is that clear?
Tessa: Okay, mr. Newman. I get it.
Nikki: Why were you talking to victor?
Dina: The truth is... you're right. Oh, I wish we could spend more time together.
Jack: You're here now. The ice has been broken. You're free from the business that was tying you down. This is our chance. Why not go for it?
Dina: Jack, we make choices in life, and we have to accept the consequences.
Jack: No one is asking you to undo the past.
Dina: We've had a wonderful visit, and I can settle with that. And I just hope for your sake, you can do the same.
Jack: I can see I'm not gonna change your mind.
Dina: Well, you know me. I'm just too stubborn.
Jack: I really wish it didn't have to be this way.
Dina: Goodbye, jack. Goodbye.
[ Door opens ]
Graham: I hope I'm not interrupting.
Dina: Uh, n-no, not at all. Jack was -- jack was... just leaving.
Jack: You damn well better take good care of her. Or you will have me to answer to.
Graham: Rest assured, jack, your mother's in very capable hands.
Jack: [ Scoffs ]
Graham: You did the right thing.
Dr. Harris: You have a lot of natural talent, chloe.
Chloe: Yeah?
Dr. Harris: You know, i haven't used art therapy with many of my patients, but, uh, I'm gonna look into it more.
Chloe: I like to draw.
Dr. Harris: What about, uh, painting? Sculpture?
Chloe: Paper and pencil is just fine. I like the way it feels in my hand. The sound of the pencil, it...relaxes me.
Dr. Harris: Well, uh, I'll make sure you have plenty of art supplies, then.
Chloe: Thank you.
Dr. Harris: You understand now, don't you? Why it was necessary.
Chloe: To make everyone believe that I died?
Dr. Harris: Yeah.
Chloe: You were right, dr. Harris. I feel much safer now.
Dr. Harris: Good. Because you are safe, chloe, here with me.
Chloe: I'm lucky to be in your care.
Dr. Harris: I'm glad you feel that way. I know this hasn't been easy, but I'm proud of you.
Chloe: You are?
Dr. Harris: Yeah, you made the best possible choice. The only choice you could make.
Chloe: I know.
DR. Harris: I'm gonna make us some lunch.
Chloe: Hurry, kevin. Hurry.
[ Indistinct conversation ]
Kevin: I'm coming, chloe.
Graham: That should be everything. I'll call the bellman.
Dina: No, graham. I can't leave.
Jack: [ Sighs ]
Ashley: What happened with dina?
Jack: We said goodbye -- again.
Ashley: No.
Jack: She's heading back to paris tonight. Even though I got the distinct impression it is not what she wants.
Dina: I don't want to leave my family. I won't go. And you can't force me.
Graham: Remember what you told me before we left paris -- that you don't want your family to know.
Jack: Yes, I tried. I couldn't get her to open up.
Ashley: But you think that she wanted to.
Jack: There's no doubt in my mind. There was more she wanted to saY.
Dina: I know you're right, graham. But it's so hard. And I just don't know where this journey will take us.
Graham: I'll be with you -- every step of the way, dina. As long as you're with me, you'll have nothing to worry about.
Dina: [ Sighs ]
