Episode # 11133 ~ Sharon connects with Scott; Billy makes a bold move with Victoria; Kevin confides in Michael.
Provided By Suzanne
Sharon: Doing okay? You look a little frustrated.
Scott: Yeah, you could say that.
Sharon: You know, whenever I'm working on something and I run into a wall, I just go for a walk. It just clears out all the cobwebs, and then -- poof! -- I have a breakthrough. Sometimes I have to walk a long way, but it works every time.
Scott: I have been sitting here for quite a while.
Sharon: Well, go ahead. I'll watch your stuff for you.
Scott: Okay. Great. Thanks, Sharon.
Sharon: Mm-hmm. Good luck!
Scott: Yeah. I think I need a little bit of that.
Scott: Chelsea, right?
Chelsea: Yeah. Oh, good memory!
Scott: Yeah.
Chelsea: And you're Scott Grainger. You're one of my favorite writers, by the way.
Scott: Well, thank you. No doubt I'll be seeing you around.
Chelsea: For sure.
Scott: Yeah.
Chelsea: Hi.
Sharon: Hey. You here for your usual latte, or...did you want to get some pastries for nick? I'm guessing you want to surprise him with something fun.
Chelsea: More like an apology.
Nikki: All right, enough stalling. What happened between you and Chelsea?
Nick: Wasn't a great night for her.
Nikki: Because...?
Nick: You know, it's kind of a long story, but Adam's name came up, and it sent her into a tailspin.
Nikki: Oh, boy...
Nick: I thought it would do her good, you know, to go out and get her mind off things.
Nikki: But it didn't.
Nick: [Sighs] People just kept looking at her and giving her that pity stare which she hates so much. So she went home, alone, and honestly, I don't know where we left things.
Nikki: It's got to be so hard for her. She and Adam were so close to having a second chance, and that accident just ended it all.
Nick: You know, that explosion's been nagging at me since last night, too.
Nikki: What about it?
Nick: We keep saying it was an accident. What if it wasn't?
Chloe: More.
Kevin: What's the magic word?
Chloe: Now.
Kevin: You know, water and aspirin might work better.
Chloe: [Scoffs] I'm not even hungover. Much. Maybe I had one too many at the underground.
Kevin: Almost like you were celebrating.
Chloe: Yeah, because I was. Because I'm fabulous. I love my life. What's with the look?
Kevin: Well, after I poured you into bed, you didn't sleep very well. You sat up from that nightmare, scared me half to death...
Chloe: So?
Kevin: What was it about?
Victoria: Hi.
Billy: Hey.
Victoria: Is that your presentation for the board of governors?
Billy: Yeah, I'm just, uh, finishing it up before I head to the airport.
Victoria: Well, now that Jabot has bowed out and Jack's admitted that he's exaggerated your weak points, we might actually have a shot at cementing this deal. Brash & sassy! -- The official men's grooming line of professional hockey.
Billy: I like the way that rolls off your tongue.
Victoria: You know, it was a brilliant tie-in. I never would have thought of it.
Billy: You saved the day, kiddo.
Victoria: Who, me?
Billy: Yeah, you. Jack thought he was playing down and dirty, and you schooled him on how it's done.
Jack: Thought you might have the good sense to call in sick today.
Gloria: Okay, go ahead. Let me have it. I screwed up.
Jack: Oh, is that what we're calling it now?
Gloria: All right, Billy and Victoria used the "GC Buzz" interview to make you drop a deal that you weren't interested in anyway!
Jack: Are you really trying to make me angrier than I already am?
Chelsea: Thank you. What do I owe you?
Sharon: Um, an explanation. How is everything with you and nick?
Chelsea: It's -- it's fine. Um... it was just -- we were out last night, and I had to cut things short... actually, you know what, it doesn't even matter. Uh, tell me about this place. How is it owning it again?
Sharon: It's good! Especially since I inherited a great crew, being that I'm up to my eyeballs...
Chloe: Doing what?
Sharon: Believe it or not, I went back to college.
Chelsea: College?
Sharon: Yeah.
Chelsea: All right!
Sharon: I know. GCU. I was in and out of classes, you know, before, but then Noah was born, and then Cassie came into my life, and...
Chelsea: So it's not like you were busy or anything.
Sharon: No, not at all. [Laughs] And nick always took care of our family, but, um... I regretted not going back to school, so now that I'm on my own, I thought I would give that another shot. Are you actually interested in this story, or did you just want to change the subject?
Chelsea: No. I -- I am. I am interested. Sorry, it's just -- I was -- it's just funny that you bring up nick's generosity. We were about to have dinner last night and Michael showed up.
Sharon: Oh. What'd he want?
Chelsea: Constance's will finally went through probate. She left sage a bunch of money, and so nick inherits that money. Instead of pocketing it, he is insisting that it go towards Connor's college fund.
Sharon: Well, that sounds like nick. He's always putting the kids first.
Chelsea: But, you know, then it just brought up a lot of memories, you know? Sage, and then a bunch of memories of Adam, so...
Sharon: And then bye-bye romantic evening?
Chelsea: It's been six months since Adam... I don't know, it just gets hard sometimes, but...
Sharon: Hey, you know, don't worry about nick. If anyone understands, it's him.
Chelsea: Sorry, this is so awkward. He's your ex, too. I shouldn't even be bringing this up.
Sharon: Yeah, no worries. I'm glad you two found each other.
Chelsea: I mean, I was with Adam. And now I'm with his brother. I'm sure some people find that strange.
Sharon: Not me.
Chelsea: [Laughs]
Sharon: You know, all that matter is what works for the two of you. Here. Give this to nick. He doesn't need an apology. He knows that Adam is always gonna be a part of you and Connor.
Chloe: Okay, where is our waitress? I need more sugar.
Kevin: Oh! You know, I never remember my dreams, but I know you remember yours because you're always trying to analyze them. The way you were thrashing around, this one must have been a doozy.
Chloe: [Scoffs] The only nightmare I could possibly have is losing you. I got to get to work.
Kevin: Wait, wait, wait, wait. Why would you be worried about that? Have I said or done anything?
Chloe: No, not -- this has nothing to do with you, okay? It's -- it's me, okay? It's the whole paranoid dance I do whenever everything is going right for a change, you know? Will it last?
Kevin: Be positive! Things keep getting better for us, and I'm gonna make sure it stays that way.
Chloe: Well, when you say it that way, I believe you.
Kevin: Good.
Chloe: Okay. Now I really have to get to work.
Kevin: Okay. I love you.
Chloe: Ditto. Hi, Michael.
Kevin: [Laughs]
Michael: [Laughs] Huh. Feet still on the ground.
Kevin: You seem shocked.
Michael: Well, lately, you've had that, uh, smitten look.
Kevin: Well, it's the same look you have around Lauren. I want it for myself. With Chloe.
Michael: Seems like you're already there -- in love, living together...
Kevin: I'm gonna ask her to marry me.
Nikki: You know, maybe we choose to believe the police report because it's easier. It's hard to get closure when you're dealing with a murder.
Nikki: Honey, we believed it because it was the truth. Paul and Dylan were very thorough. All of the evidence pointed to it being an accident.
Nick: Dad gave you a burner phone to give to Chelsea, right?
Nikki: Yes. I mean, she had to have a way of contacting Adam so that they could leave the country with their son. And they had been through so much, I thought they deserved a little happiness and time together. God. If Chelsea and Connor had been at the cabin when it blew up, I would have been partly responsible. That just makes me sick thinking about it!
Nick: Look, mom, I'm not trying to upset you, all right? I'm just wondering out loud.
Nikki: Do you really think there's something to this? If that explosion wasn't a fluke, what caused it? I mean, who would have tried to kill Adam?
Gloria: You're mad at Billy and Victoria because they tricked you. They made you eat a little crow with your college buddy, and now I'm supposed to stand here and keep my mouth shut so you can take your frustrations out on me?
Jack: Your mouth shut might be a real improvement.
Gloria: No! You didn't get to where you are by dwelling on your setbacks and carrying grudges. That's all this thing was! That deal. So you could stick it to Billy. Well, you listen to me. The good news. This little fiasco got you to focus on revitalizing the men's line. You have got all the research right here in front of you that I did. We can push forward on this. We can do great things. And then, in your spare time, lots of opportunities to stick it to baby brother for what he did to you.
Billy: There is one thing that caught me off guard. The way you defended me to Jack, telling him to apologize for the way that he was treating me, saying that I didn't deserve to have my character impugned, or what's left of my character...
Victoria: Why is that so surprising?
Billy: Because I expected you to go after him for sabotaging the deal. I just didn't expect you to...
[Cell phone rings]
Victoria: Oh! Uh, I'm so sorry. I have to take this. Could you just shut the door?
Nikki: What has made you start wondering how Adam died? Where is all this coming from?
Nick: Tell me again, what did Chloe say?
Scott: Something happened a few months ago that changed everything for her.
Nick: Did she say when this life-changing event took place?
Scott: Six months ago.
[Cell phone chimes]
Nick: Oh, it's Chelsea. She wants me to come by.
Nikki: Oh, good. You can work things out. Listen, whatever you do, don't bring up these doubts that you're having because it will just reopen the wounds, and that's the last thing you want.
Nick: [Sighs]
Chloe: [Laughs] Am I imagining things, or are you not happy to see me?
Chelsea: No, of course not! I just -- I was expecting nick.
Chloe: Oh. Okay. Well, uh, this will be quick. I just have these forms. I need you to sign them.
Chelsea: Ah. No problem.
Chloe: So, are you plying him with sugar? What's the occasion?
Chelsea: Oh, no. I, um... we just have to work through some stuff.
Chloe: Like what? Sorry. I'm nosy. You know that.
Chelsea: Yeah, I do. Um... [Sighs] Nick did something really extremely generous last night, and...I just got wrapped up in my own stuff in my head and I started thinking about Adam, and...
Chloe: What about?
Chelsea: Well, you know, just the normal tidal wave of missing him, and then I came home and I closed my eyes for like a second and all I could think about was the explosion.
Chloe: Wow. Sounds intense.
Chelsea: Yeah. It was. But now I just want to be able to thank nick properly for what he did.
Chloe: Well, don't keep me in suspense. What did he do?
Chelsea: Constance Bingham left sage a bunch of money, so nick automatically inherits it. He wants me to have it so I can put it towards Connor's education.
Chloe: Give it back.
Chelsea: What are you talking about? Nick really insists. He wants me to have the money.
Chloe: No, I'm not talking about nick. I'm talking about Adam. He's linked to that money. You can't keep it.
Chelsea: I will see you back at the office.
Chloe: No. No, not until you promise me that you're not gonna take that money.
Chelsea: Chloe, why are you pushing this?
Chloe: Because I'm looking out for you and Connor. I mean, didn't Adam and sage run some sort of scam on that old lady? I mean, you can't accept that money.
Chelsea: No, that is not what happened. The majority of the estate went to charity after Adam and sage divorced. Constance wanted to give sage this check because she felt like she was a daughter to her.
Chloe: Oh.
Chelsea: Not that I owe you any explanation, by the way.
Chloe: [Sighs] I am just concerned about you because you have made all of this progress, and I would hate to see it undone.
Chelsea: Would you be lecturing me like this if we were talking about anybody besides Adam?
Chloe: Probably not. But I love you, and you know that I would anything for you, and sometimes that includes telling you things you don't want to hear. So if you've been thinking about him and daydreaming about him, do you really think that that's healthy?
Chelsea: I don't know what's healthy anymore, Chloe. Maybe if I had gotten the chance to say goodbye, maybe if I had been able to see his body...
Chloe: No, but you did get to see him, okay? You spent time with him at the cabin as a family. I mean, you were at an incredible place with a gorgeous view of the lake from the porch in the middle of nature.
Chelsea: How did you know the cabin was on a lake?
Chloe: Because you told me. Remember? We were sitting right there on the sofa and you went into much detail about, um, yeah, the smell of the trees and the way that the light came in through the windows.
[Doorbell rings]
Chelsea: Yeah, I -- I guess I did. I don't remember. Hi.
Nick: Morning.
Chelsea: Glad you're here. How are you?
Nick: Hey.
Michael: [Chuckles] So, you're, uh, thinking third time's the charm?
Kevin: Well, Chloe and I, we're different people now. A year ago, would Victor have flown me to the middle east to run a rescue mission? Would chief Williams consider me an asset?
Michael: I get it.
Kevin: People trust me. Important people. You know what that's done for my confidence?
Michael: If a couple needs three times to get it right, they're not compatible. It's simple as that.
Kevin: What, you're an expert now?
Michael: It's common sense. Look, you're a bright, stable man mismatched with a bright, unstable woman. Chloe is the one who's not ready. She may never be ready.
Kevin: I am strong enough to get us through anything.
Michael: Look, I admire your conviction, but that doesn't --
Kevin: Damn it, Michael! I want your blessing. What is it gonna take to get it? Chloe has put in the work. She got healthy, fought her way back to a normal life. She's holding down a job. She is a terrific mom. We're getting another shot at this because she's finally come to terms with everything that happened.
Michael: What, you mean Delia? I'm sure Adam's death helped that.
Kevin: What is that supposed to mean?
Scott: Excellent advice.
Sharon: Oh, the walk helped?
Scott: Yeah, I came up with a whole new approach.
Sharon: Glad to hear it. [Sighs]
Scott: Doing okay over there?
Sharon: Yeah. Why do you ask?
Scott: Uh, you know, I know the signs. I mean, uh, you can't find the word or the, uh, proper phrasing.
Sharon: Mm, I wish that's all it were.
Scott: Listen. You helped me. Let me repay the favor.
Sharon: Oh, I don't want to impose.
Scott: No, no. I offered.
Sharon: I, um...you know, I'm just taking some classes at the university, and it's been a while since I've written an essay, so this one's way hard, you know?
Scott: Well, let me just have a look.
Sharon: Really? Seriously?
Scott: Yeah! Why not?
Sharon: Because you're a professional writer.
Scott: You got to start somewhere.
Sharon: I would be mortified to have you read this.
Scott: Look, that's just your insecurities talking. Come on.
Sharon: Well, considering it is a psych class, you'd think I'd be a natural at it.
Scott: How come?
Sharon: Um... 'cause I'm well-versed in that subject.
Victoria: You can leave those reports anywhere, Becky.
Gloria: It's not Becky.
Victoria: [Scoffs] How did you get in here?
Gloria: Through this door.
Victoria: Well, don't let it hit you on the way out.
Gloria: All right, let's get one thing straight. That "GC" interview was a complete fabrication. Jack did not do the things I accused him of.
Victoria: Oh, really. Tell me something that I don't know.
Gloria: Ah, but now you're willing to use that same video to make Jack look really, really bad.
Victoria: You know, you really are a piece of work.
Gloria: Why, thank you. I take that as a compliment.
Victoria: Don't.
Jack: You are not welcome here.
Billy: I'm not here to humiliate you.
Jack: You couldn't if you tried. Business deals come and go. Victoria used inside information to gain an advantage. End of story. Goodbye.
Billy: I hurt you, Jack. Badly. And you're entitled to keep lashing out at me, but my question is -- why? What does it accomplish to keep fighting this war? Seems like a waste of energy to treat each other like this, when we could be brothers again instead of enemies. That's what I want. What about you? Jack, you can despise me forever, but you know what that makes you, Jack? Victor. It makes you just like Victor.
Jack: Get out.
Scott: So, your anecdote on the second page, it's compelling. Open with that. You want to grab the readers right at the beginning.
Sharon: Okay.
Scott: Yeah. And then if you go down to your fourth 'graph where you introduce the thesis, you want to rearrange the sentences so your main point is just right at the start.
Sharon: I don't really have any graphs or tables.
Scott: No, it's just a short word for "paragraphs." Uh, sorry.
Sharon: Oh. Oh.
Scott: So, then, you, uh -- you take that, you make it right at the top, right after the beginning there, and then you, uh, build your argument from there. Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with this. It's a very solid first effort.
Sharon: No way!
Scott: Why would I make that up?
Sharon: Because I'm a terrible writer.
Scott: Oh, come on. I mean, I understand insecurity, but you can't let that erode your confidence. I mean, I have taught writing, and I know a good essay when I see one.
Sharon: I guess the reason I doubt my abilities is... people have been putting me down my whole life.
Scott: I think it's maybe time to hang out with some different people. Good luck.
Victoria: You set out to destroy Jack on national TV, and if there hadn't been a technical glitch, you might have succeeded. Then Jack's contact mentioned a deal with Billy, and Jack was more than delighted to pay it forward.
Gloria: A lie is a lie, Victoria. When Jack spilled the beans about Billy's little gambling problem, which is a big no-no in the sports world, he was being honest. Oh, come on, the league would have found out eventually and ditched you anyway. You know, I think Jack actually did your company a favor by getting it out in the open.
Victoria: Well, way to spin it, Glo. Is that why you come here? You want to stand by your man? Because if you really care about Jack, you'll get him to shut down this obsession that he has with revenge. And maybe Jack feels justified, but if things keep escalating this way, there's gonna be big blowback. The kind that's gonna hurt your boss way more than it does Billy.
Gloria: So you think that I can persuade Jack to end this feud?
Victoria: You're determined, you have guts, you're resourceful. You're a little bit misguided at times.
Gloria: Meaning?
Victoria: You faked a sexual harassment story. That only hurts people with real issues at work and at school. So thank you, on behalf of victims everywhere, for making their struggle just a little bit harder.
Gloria: Au contraire, young Victoria. I don't think I would have set back the cause at all the way you're claiming. But that's okay. You're entitled to your opinion. Now, as for Jack...
Victoria: If you won't get Jack to back off this vendetta against Billy, then I hope he got a good taste of what's coming to him if he interferes with my company again. I pulled my punches. Next time, I won't.
Billy: Look, Jack, maybe I shouldn't have made the crack about Victor, but you're missing the point. He is the one that can never let go of a grudge. It's always black and white. There's no middle ground.
Jack: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a business to run. You got a deal with professional hockey to work out.
Billy: And speaking of that deal, I know Vicki coerced you into it, but thank you for calling them and setting the record straight.
Jack: You know, when my buddy Leon called about having drinks and told me he was working on a deal with my little brother, I could have done nothing about that. I could have just filed the information away and not acted on it at all. I wanted to cause you trouble. I wanted to mess with you. I wanted to do everything in my power to tank your little opportunity. It turns out I needn't have bothered.
Billy: Why's that?
Jack: Because I thought about the one trait that defines you, Billy Abbott. You're your own worst enemy. Sooner or later, you're going to screw things up just the way you always do. It's the story of your life.
Billy: You know, Jack, you're one to talk, aren't you? You hired a woman who at one point tried to take down this company. I mean, let's be honest, if it wasn't for Gloria, I wouldn't have this deal. Could you do me a favor, Jack? Can you thank her for me? I'll make sure to send her a nice bottle of wine.
Jack: Scotch, neat.
Nikki: Hey, Jack!
Jack: Okay, you can spare me the sermon. If you're worried about me, I walked here.
Nikki: Far be it for me to judge. How was your trip?
Jack: Is this your subtle way of chiding me for not making the opera benefit?
Nikki: No, it's my subtle way of asking how your trip went.
Jack: Thank you. I'm sorry I didn't make the benefit, okay?
Nikki: Well, at least Ashley didn't have to go stag.
Jack: Yeah? Who'd she give the ticket to? Abby?
Nikki: I believe the young man's name was Ravi.
Jack: Yes, Ravi, our resident computer nerd.
Nikki: Didn't seem that nerdy to me. He wore an exquisitely tailored tuxedo, looked quite dashing. They were really a very cute couple.
Jack: And you're telling me this why?
Nikki: Oh, my goodness, you are in a mood! Is there something I can do?
Jack: Yeah. Let me enjoy my drink in peace.
Nikki: Wow. Usually, it takes Victor to get you this worked up.
Victoria: Where'd you disappear to?
Billy: I, uh, dropped by media services to get the final version of the presentation. Then I, uh, had a little chat with someone.
Victoria: I guess you'll be heading to the airport?
Billy: Yeah, if I don't, I'm gonna be late. But I wanted to thank you first before I go.
Victoria: For what?
Billy: Trusting me with this idea, for letting me run with it.
Victoria: You know, we're about to score a major tie-in with a professional sports league. It's all because we have the right man leading the way.
Billy: Vick. Before I go, we need to have a conversation about the way you defended me.
Victoria: Oh, Billy, we already talked about that.
Billy: No, we didn't. We need to finish the conversation.
Kevin: I'm not denying Chloe had issues.
Michael: Look, she does seem to be more at peace since Adam left us. He was a constant reminder...
Kevin: I know! And now that he's not around anymore for her to obsess over, she's better, but is that the only reason? That's a stretch, Michael, and you know it. Marrying Chloe gives me back the thing that I have missed most -- family. Stability. I can be a husband to her, a father to Bella... we were cheated out of that life, Michael. This is our chance. I want you behind us. You and Lauren. And Scott and fen and Gloria -- not gonna hold my breath on that last one, although, she is crazy about Bella.
Michael: [Chuckles] How long have you been thinking along these lines?
Kevin: This is not some random impulse.
Michael: You have been known to have those.
Kevin: Yes, but that's not what this is. This feels right. No, it doesn't. It feels incredible.
Michael: Well, while you're up there in the clouds, bouncing around, down here on earth, there are red flags that cannot be ignored, Kevin.
Kevin: I've messed up a lot in my life, Michael, and you are no saint, either.
Michael: I never said I was.
Kevin: We've turned our lives around. Why is it so hard to believe that Chloe can do the same thing?
Chloe: So, the sewing machine guy said it just makes more sense to replace it.
Chelsea: Well, how long is that gonna take?
Chloe: Oh, he's gonna come by this afternoon.
Chelsea: Oh. Okay. Perfect.
Nick: Hope I'm not interrupting anything.
Chelsea: Mnh-mnh.
Chloe: No. I have all the forms, and I guess I'm just gonna go back to work.
Chelsea: I actually have to talk to Monique, make sure she knows that I might be out late tonight, so I will be right back. Excuse me.
Nick: I'll save you a doughnut, maybe.
Chelsea: Please do!
Nick: Look like you're feeling all right this morning.
Chloe: Yeah! I feel great. Why?
Nick: Didn't seem like you were feeling any pain last night.
Chloe: [Laughs] Yeah. Got a little tipsy, um, but Kevin got me home in one piece.
Nick: He's a good man.
Chloe: Yeah, I can count on him. Just like Chelsea can count on you. You know, I was just saying before you got here how lucky we are. I hope that she appreciates what she's found with you. Time to let the past with Adam go.
Nick: She thinks about Adam because they were in love. There's no real reason to forget that. Is there?
Chloe: Uh, I'm just trying to help you out, dude. You know, like, a simple "thank you" would be just fine. [Chuckles] Okay, um, I got to go. I'll check you later.
Nick: See ya.
Nick: Mr. Dinosaur. Is he your favorite?
Michael: To build a solid foundation takes time, especially with someone like Chloe, with her history.
Kevin: If you're so concerned about her mental state, wouldn't having the stability of a committed relationship be a good thing?
Michael: I suppose that seems reasonable.
Kevin: The way I see it, I would be crazy not to propose. Please tell me that makes sense to you, too.
Michael: [Sighs] All right. If we're gonna do this, we're gonna do it right. Beautiful ring, romantic setting. You have a lot to top after the last time she proposed to you.
Kevin: Oh, I'm not bursting into song at crimson lights anytime soon.
Michael: Well, that's good to know, and I hope you realize that the whole point of this thing is to make Chloe feel wanted, needed, loved, right?
Kevin: So this means you're in my corner?
Michael: [Scoffs] I've never been anywhere else. Come here. Bring it!
Kevin: I love you.
Michael: Mm! Love you, too.
Chloe: What do you have that's good for a hangover?
Sharon: Decaf green tea? The college kids swear by it.
Chloe: I'll take an extra large.
Sharon: Okay. So, how are things between you and Kevin?
Chloe: Oh, well, couldn't be better. Let's just hope I don't blow it up this time.
Sharon: You and I have both had our challenges. You know, it took finding the right help to get better.
Chloe: Well, until my problems start flooding in and I end up disappointing him yet again... or worse yet -- being a burden.
Sharon: You know, when Dylan left, I was a mess. And I kept waiting for the breakdown to happen. But as sad and as miserable as I was, it never got to that point.
Chloe: What a relief.
Sharon: Like you wouldn't believe.
Chloe: Try me.
Sharon: Well, you know, whenever I find my life is too much for me to handle, I just throw myself into work, hug my kids, reach out to the people who know I'm not perfect but they love me, and then never forget to take your meds.
Chloe: [Chuckles] Yeah.
Sharon: By the way, have you found a therapist since you've moved back to Genoa city? 'Cause if not, I can recommend someone.
Chloe: Oh, that's a very sweet offer, but, yeah, I'm -- I'm seeing someone I really like.
Sharon: Great! That's half the battle.
Chloe: Mm-hmm. I am doing it for all our sakes. Especially Bella's. Whatever I can do to make sure I am 100% in control.
Chelsea: I wasn't expecting Chloe to come earlier, um... I was looking forward to some alone time with you so I could apologize for screwing up last night.
Nick: I don't even know what you're talking about.
Chelsea: Thank you for understanding.
Nick: You know I do, right?
Chelsea: [Scoffs] What are you doing with this thing?
Nick: I love dinosaurs.
Chelsea: Oh. Okay.
Nick: Uh, Chloe was -- she was holding it. That's Connor's favorite toy, right?
Chelsea: Yeah. He never goes anywhere without his Dino.
Nick: Hmm. He had it that night. That night at the cabin.
Chelsea: Yeah, I -- I packed it for him when I thought that, you know, when I thought that we were all going away together.
Nick: You know, it's got a hole in it. I mean, the stuffing's coming out.
Chelsea: Really?
Nick: Mm-hmm.
Chelsea: Huh. Well, you know as a fellow parent, it's "well-loved." That's what we like to call it.
Nick: Let's see if I can fix it with all my amazing toy-fixing skills.
Chelsea: I would appreciate that. This thing is treasured by him. I assumed it was just damaged, maybe, when it was left at the airstrip after the explosion.
Nick: Hmm.
Chelsea: What? What is that?
Nick: I was just about to ask you.
Nikki: So, it's Billy. He's the one who's put you in this mood. What'd he do now?
Jack: It's business.
Nikki: Even when it's business, it's personal, Jack. That's the way it was with Victor. What, you find a new rival to replace him?
Jack: What, Victor misses me? That's sweet.
Nikki: He's far too busy, Jack.
Jack: With what? I heard he stepped back at Newman.
Nikki: There are other things in life, you know.
Jack: What, retirement?
Nikki: Why label it? I'm just grateful to have more time with my husband.
Jack: Just because he's willing to put himself out to pasture doesn't mean you have to do a slow fade with him. The Nikki I knew would never settle for being Victor's appendage. She'd never settle for anything. I miss that Nikki. What the hell happened to her?
Nikki: Was that an honest question? Or are you just one big ball of resentment these days, digging around for a friend to keep you company?
Victoria: Billy, I --
Billy: Hold on a second, okay? We had a plan. We knew exactly what we were gonna do to trip up Jack, convince him that we were gonna release the tape. So I go up to his office, I warn him that there's trouble, we come back down together. But then off the top, you go and flip the script. You start defending me to Jack. And I have to say, that I found that very...endearing. And I know that it was spontaneous, but it felt like it came from your heart. So you got to tell me. Am I wrong? That's what I thought. I got to catch my flight.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Jordan: Is that what you're worried about, that I'm falling for Hilary?
Lily: Well, are you?
Devon: There is nobody I would rather do this with more than you. What do you say?
Kevin: Chloe, will you marry me?
