Episode # 11123 ~ Ashley sets boundaries for Ravi; Jill receives a special delivery; Mariah accuses Hilary of sabotage.
Provided By Suzanne
[Doorbell rings]
Jill: Esther! Always lurking except when you need her. [Gasps]
Devon: Hi. Is it a bad time?
Jill: It just got better. Get in here.
Devon: Thank you.
Jill: [Chuckles]
Devon: How you doing? It's nice to see you looking so well.
Jill: Well, I could say the same about you. And thank you for all your get-well wishes and your flowers.
Devon: Oh, yeah. No "thank you" necessary. What you doing, Jill?
Jill: Well, it's a long story involving another one of Katherine's letters from the grave and a little ancient history and my miserable excuse for a husband.
Devon: So, basically you figured out a way to keep your fight with Katherine alive even though she's not?
Jill: Actually, she did that.
Cane: What are you doing? You hoping Jill's gonna call?
Colin: She won't. But my appraiser will, and soon. Um, what's with this?
Cane: It's for my brash & sassy trip.
Colin: Oh. Japan. Of course. Uh, how long are you gonna be gone?
Cane: Just a few days.
Colin: Uh...[Chuckles] What does that mean to me? I mean, should I be packing a suitcase, too?
Cane: Why would you do that?
Colin: With you out of town, Lily has no reason to keep her pain-in-the-neck father-in-law around.
Lily: Well, you're looking very handsome today.
Neil: Aha. Thanks.
Lily: Do you have a big meeting with the foundation?
Neil: No, nothing pressing, but I'm happy to spend my morning with my beautiful daughter.
Lily: Aww.
Neil: I'm surprised that you have time, though.
Lily: What? You thought I'd be busy with my revived modeling career?
Neil: [Laughs] That, and I figured you'd be squeezing in some quality time with Cane before he leaves on his business trip.
Lily: Yeah. I'm really gonna miss him, but I'm also very proud of him.
Neil: I'm impressed with both of you.
Lily: Thanks. The only drawback to his trip is that I'm losing the buffer between my father-in-law and me.
Neil: Colin's still bunking with you two?
Lily: I'm afraid he's never gonna leave.
Neil: Ah. I'm sorry, babe.
Lily: I mean, if only he had somewhere else to go.
Neil: Unh-unh! No, no!
Lily: Yes, dad, come on. You can take him.
Neil: Oh, no. You know I'd be happy to do anything for you, but taking on that particular roommate? Mnh-mnh.
Mariah: Hey. Listen to this. Ultimate fighting challenge. You and me in the ring. We have the champ teach us a few moves, and...you hate the idea.
Hilary: No, no. I-I love the idea. I just -- I hate what you're wearing.
Mariah: What? It's clean, mostly.
Hilary: You could put in a little more effort.
Mariah: Well, I'm sorry we don't all wake up looking perfect.
Hilary: I wish. Okay, you know what, Mariah? You just -- you need to get it together, okay? Our photo shoot is about to start.
Mariah: What photo shoot?
Hilary: Do you remember when I asked Jordan to come down and take some publicity shots of the two of us?
Mariah: Yes, but... I didn't know that you had scheduled it! [Scoffs] Just when I think we are starting to perfect this team thing, you go into full-on sabotage mode!
[Knock on door]
Ravi: Whoever it is, come back later. I'm fine-tuning the virtual dressing room.
Phyllis: And therein lies the problem.
Ravi: Not possible.
Phyllis: Exhibit A. Looked great on me in the virtual dressing room.
Ravi: Okay, uh, this is -- this is the app. I can fix it.
Phyllis: No, no, relax. I already looked into it. Apparently it's an easy fix.
Ravi: Erroneous data entry?
Phyllis: Just for this dress. But you know what? We have got to monitor this closely.
Ravi: Okay. I'm on it.
Phyllis: All right, good. So how'd your celebration with Ashley go last night?
Ravi: Um, it was nice. I even got her to throw some credit your way.
Phyllis: Oh, that couldn't have been easy. But thank you. Very generous of you to stick up for me now that, uh, Ashley is all trying to take you seriously and everything.
Ravi: I mean, she already does take me seriously.
Phyllis: [Chuckles] As a cyber genius, yes. That's it.
Ravi: Oh. You've noticed that?
Phyllis: My friend, I have a PhD in unrequited love.
Ravi: Why does everyone assume that Ashley and I could never be together?
Ashley: No, take it away! I've sworn off sugar!
Abby: Even when it's hand delivered by your darling daughter?
Ashley: Yes, even then.
Abby: Okay, fine. I won't tempt you.
Ashley: Well, we wouldn't want to waste it, would we? [Chuckles] Thank you.
Abby: You're welcome.
Ashley: What prompted this deliciousness?
Abby: Gratitude. I want to say thank you for the advice you gave me about working for dad.
Ashley: Well, when it comes to handling your father, if there is a way to handle your father, you have to stand firm, right? 'Cause you don't want him to get under your skin, and then you start questioning yourself, you lose your confidence.
Abby: Well, um, speaking of confidence, you look great sitting behind uncle Jack's desk.
Ashley: I mean, it's been my desk several times over the years, you know? Did I tell you that I've decided to take a more active role in running the company?
Abby: While uncle Jack's in new York?
Ashley: Mnh-mnh. Even when he's back. You do realize that I'm the reason why Jabot is back on solid ground, because of my ideas and Ravi's execution. I deserve to be here. What? You don't think I deserve to be here?
Abby: You definitely do.
Ashley: But? Do you have something to say?
Abby: Mom, if you keep this up, you're gonna break Ravi's heart.
Jill: You see, my relationship with your grandmother was more complicated than you know, and this letter, it just -- pfft -- opened up wounds that occurred long before you were born.
Devon: But, Jill, you know she can't heal these wounds from the grave.
Jill: Well, in a lot of ways, she made it worse, okay?
Devon: Maybe I can help you with it. Talk to me. Think of me as my grandmother's proxy.
Jill: I can't ask you to do that.
Devon: Sure you can. I'm sure your husband robbing you was devastating. You know if you need money, you can ask me, right?
Jill: I will not take money from you.
Devon: You sure?
Jill: Hmm.
Devon: 'Cause I have plenty of it, and it all belonged to Katherine, so anything you need, just let me know.
Jill: [Chuckles] Hmm.
Devon: I mean it.
Jill: As furious as I may be with your grandmother, I have never borne you any ill will.
Devon: I'm very fond of you, too, Jill. Colin, on the other hand, though...
Jill: No, I know. I know. You have every right to resent my husband. It may make you happy to know that your occasional blackmailer has been expelled from my loving arms.
Devon: Well, a few weeks ago, maybe, but right now, I think it would be arrogant and tacky for me to celebrate your breakup.
Jill: That's right. You married a barracuda of your own.
Mariah: You are trying to steal the spotlight, looking all glamorous while I look like a ratty sweat sock.
Hilary: I did not try to sabotage you.
Mariah: What do you call a surprise photo shoot?
Hilary: Check your e-mail.
Mariah: Okay. I have this thing on me at all times, and I would --
Hilary: Oh. Are they there, both the e-mails that I sent you?
Mariah: I guess I forgot to check my work account.
Hilary: Yeah. Guess you did.
Mariah: All right. I am sorry for jumping down your throat. Are you gonna make my life hell for this?
Hilary: I should. But I did make you fall flat on your face on air, so I guess you're allowed to be suspicious.
Mariah: Well, I will try to tone that down from now on.
Hilary: That thing you said back there about us finally becoming a team, did you mean it?
Mariah: I guess. Kind of. Especially now that I know that you don't wake up looking like that. [Chuckles]
Hilary: Okay, go. I'll stall. Go get gorgeous.
Mariah: Hi, Jordan. Bye, Jordan.
Jordan: Hey.
Hilary: Someone's not quite ready for their close-up.
Jordan: But you definitely are. [Chuckles]
[Camera shutter clicks]
Jordan: There you go.
Hilary: [Laughing] Stop it.
Abby: I can't believe you're acting surprised. Mom, you're not dense. You know Ravi has feelings for you. We've talked about this before.
Ashley: You're right. There was a time when he had a little crush on me.
Abby: Okay, no, it's not past tense. There wasn't just a time. He has a crush on you now.
Ashley: Okay, come here. Sit down.
Abby: [Sighs]
Ashley: Look, I know it can be a very delicate balance, but I am perfectly capable of respecting and admiring a colleague's work without making it personal.
Abby: Okay, maybe that's what you think you're doing. Maybe that's what's going on in your head, but that's not how Ravi sees it.
Ashley: Okay, look. Let's say you're right, which I don't think you are.
Abby: I'm absolutely right.
Ashley: Isn't it possible that you could be blowing this out of proportion?
Abby: He's got a thing for you.
Ashley: That's a long way from breaking Ravi's heart.
Abby: [Scoffs] That's where it's headed.
Ashley: Okay. Say the crush is still alive. You know it's gonna fade away, right? I mean, problem solved.
Abby: Okay, and how is it supposed to just fade away?
Ashley: Because that's how these situations resolve themselves, honey. He's gonna meet somebody his own age. He's gonna be crazy for her, and he's gonna forget all about me.
Abby: And where is he going to meet this age-appropriate woman when he spends every waking hour here locked in that closet that you call an office, working nonstop making you look good?
Ashley: Okay, he works for Jabot.
Abby: He works for you side by side while his feelings are growing deeper.
Ashley: How can you possibly know this?
Abby: Watch him, listen to him. Mom, he is all about you all the time.
Ashley: I have never done anything to encourage him.
Abby: Really? Really? You have never given him kudos, praise, a promotion, a raise? How many times have you guys been out to "celebrate"?
Ashley: Okay, look. That's called rewarding a hard-working employee, all right? It's also being called a good boss.
Abby: Okay, so put yourself in this hard-working employee's place. Look at it from his perspective.
Ashley: You really think honestly that he has these feelings?
Abby: Yes. You have got to let Ravi down now before it gets more serious.
Ashley: Okay, look, maybe you should head back to your father's office. I'm sure he's gonna send out the dogs if you're gone too long.
Abby: No, he won't miss me for a while. I could stick around.
Ashley: No, that's okay. I'll handle this thing with Ravi. Okay?
Abby: Okay.
Ashley: I'll try very hard not to hurt him.
Abby: Good luck.
Ashley: Okay, thanks.
Abby: Love you.
Ashley: Love you.
Lily: No, I understand that you don't want to take Colin in. I know what a crook he is.
Neil: I'm not exactly thrilled that he's alone with you and the kids, either.
Lily: No, he's mostly de-fanged. I mean, the man's pretty much lost without Jill. I don't think it would be best for her to take him back, but, you know, if I'm being selfish...
Neil: Yeah, I tried to make that happen.
Lily: You did?
Neil: Well, Colin stole from Jill. The guy really loves her. I told him he's got to prove himself if he really wants her back.
Lily: I don't know. That's gonna be a tough sell 'cause Jill told me that she thinks Colin should just move on with his life.
Neil: That sounds final.
Lily: I have to get that man out of my house or I'm gonna lose it.
Cane: Dad, relax, all right? Lily's not gonna throw you out on the street, okay?
Colin: I wouldn't be too sure about that. My daughter-in-law's sympathy only runs so far.
Cane: Okay. Can you blame her for that?
Colin: No.
Cane: No.
Colin: But on the other hand, I can't afford to put a different roof over my head right now.
Cane: Oh, so things with Jill didn't go as you'd hoped, huh?
Colin: Well, a bit of a setback, but I'm not giving up on her.
[Cell phone rings]
Colin: Yeah? How'd it go? Oh, my man. Yeah, listen, I'll be right there.
Cane: You know, I'm almost afraid to ask what that was about, right?
Colin: Hey, happy days. I'm about to pay Jill back every cent.
Cane: Oh, how are you gonna do that?
Colin: Wonder of wonders. It's quite legal. [Laughs]
[Door closes]
Devon: Hilary has humiliated me, she's infuriated me, but that still didn't stop me from getting jealous and kissing her.
Jill: Hmm. You see, I might call you misguided and foolish, except that I have caved into that very same impulse with Colin from time to time. You know that you'd be better off without the jerk in your life, but the jerk makes life passionate and fun, and it makes you less lonely. Can't live with, can't live without.
Devon: Yeah. Pretty much covered it. I really wonder what, uh, Katherine would say about me and Hilary.
Jill: Ha. If she was being honest, she would tell you about all the mistakes she made in her life.
Devon: Like what?
Jill: She was once married to a very, very good man, and I would venture to say that she treated him worse than Hilary treated you. And you know, the most cruel and hurtful thing about her was that she let her ego get in the way all the time. She never could admit that she was wrong, not until the day she was dying.
Devon: I don't want to get to that point before I figure my own life out.
Jill: You nearly died in that car accident, okay? What did that teach you?
Devon: To never waste another second.
Jill: So if you went back to Hilary, would it be a joy or a waste?
Devon: Hmm. You almost died with your heart attack. Did you learn anything from it?
Jill: [Sighs] Yeah. Same as you. We can't afford to waste one single precious moment.
Hilary: Thank you again for -- for doing this.
Jordan: I'm glad to have the work. Nothing going on at brash & sassy today.
Hilary: Are you there exclusively now?
Jordan: No, but I do like what they're doing over there -- taking risks, trying to ride the cutting edge. And Lily's a blast to work with. You're related to her, right?
Hilary: For the moment. My husband is Lily's brother, but now that we're separated...
Jordan: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You mentioned that. Must be hard to work with the guy.
Hilary: Yeah, right. [Scoffs] Um, but, you know, speaking of work...
Jordan: You don't want to talk about it.
Hilary: No, not especially. But, um, anyway, some of the promotional packages that we put together so far, they've been pretty standard, and I'm looking for something...a little more current.
Jordan: Hotter?
Hilary: Sexier, but classy.
Jordan: I get that.
Hilary: I bet you do.
Mariah: I hate to interrupt, but...
Jordan: That is quite a transformation.
Mariah: Thank you very much.
Jordan: Let me, uh, grab my meter, and I'll get started.
Mariah: So... what's going on between you and Jordan?
Hilary: Nothing.
Mariah: Do you want to give me a real answer?
Hilary: [Sighs] Why is it any of your business?
Mariah: Because the word is out all over the place that you and Devon were locking lips after our last show.
Abby: Neil!
Neil: Huh?
Abby: Hi! I am so glad I ran into you. My business lunch just stood me up. Do you mind if I join?
Neil: Sure. [Chuckles] Have a seat.
Abby: [Sighs] Thank you. I am famished.
Neil: As nice as it is to see you, I got the feeling you got more on your mind than the soup of the day.
Abby: [Sighs] This huge corporation that I was courting, they canceled lunch first thing this morning, and I have been doing damage control over texts and e-mail.
Neil: Hmm. And avoiding the office.
Abby: Yeah. As soon as I go back there, I have to break the news to my dad, and, well, I hate disappointing him.
Neil: So did I. That never changed in all the years that I worked for Victor. I have a little advice for you.
Abby: I know what you're gonna tell me. You're gonna say I should quit, that I will never meet up to my father's expectations.
Neil: Actually, I was gonna suggest the spinach salad with salmon. Stamina for your long day ahead. And, Abby, I honestly believe that Victor -- he finally found the right Newman to inherit his throne.
Abby: [Sighs]
Phyllis: Heads up! Product number's on there.
Ravi: Okay, awesome. I'll, uh, track this and make sure there are no other glitches lurking in the code.
Phyllis: Lurking, like your feelings unrequited for Ashley.
Ravi: [Chuckles] Unless you have psychic powers, you can't know how Ashley feels. We have a special connection. She responds to me.
Phyllis: She responds, all right -- to your intellect and skill.
Ravi: There are other intelligent, skilled guys working here.
Phyllis: None like you. No, no, I see the bond between the two of you. I do.
Ravi: Then why do you doubt that it could ever work?
Phyllis: Because I see it as purely friendship. Nothing more.
Ravi: Maybe you're right. Maybe not. You're not the only one who's concerned with my feelings. Abby warned me about also getting involved.
Phyllis: Abby, her daughter... who's around your age.
Ravi: Okay. That's true. I'm a little younger than Ashley. So what?
Phyllis: "A little"?
Ravi: Ashley opened up to me about the quality she wants in a man.
Phyllis: Oh, she did?
Ravi: I told you we have a special connection.
Phyllis: Mm-hmm. And you have a lot of these qualities? Ravi, I have seen the men that she has been with throughout the years. They are all about power and strength and titans of industry.
Ravi: And how -- how did her relationships with those cocky alpha males work out? No, I-I would never hurt her the way that they have.
Phyllis: You know, I think if she was looking for a nice guy, she probably would have found him by now. I hear what you're saying, that you like her, you know, and she likes you. Just not in that way. You know, I think to protect your sanity, you got to let go of this quest.
[Telephone buzzes]
Ravi: This is Ravi.
Ashley: Hey, it's Ashley. I'm glad I caught you.
Ravi: Hey, Ashley. What can I do for you?
Ashley: I was wondering if I could talk to you. It's kind of important. Could you come to my office?
Ravi: Absolutely. Whatever you need.
Hilary: I have no idea what's going on with Devon.
Mariah: Well, you should have a clue with that kiss. According to Trishelle from accounting, it was very steamy.
Hilary: Well, Trishelle from accounting didn't hear what he said before the kiss. He was trying to prove that as miserable as we are together, we are more miserable apart.
Mariah: So, proven?
Hilary: I don't know. [Sighs] The kiss, it was... it was amazing. But after the kiss, nothing, okay? I haven't -- I haven't talked to him. I haven't seen him. Totally mixed signals.
Mariah: Well, I have heard of that before, you know, men being confused. He probably doesn't know what he wants.
Hilary: You know what I think? I think he was jealous of Jordan. That's why he kissed me. Just because some other guy was interested.
Mariah: I think there's probably a little bit more to it than that.
Hilary: No, it doesn't matter, okay? I'm tired of Devon and his games. We are gonna be adults. We are gonna move on. So, let's go. Let's show the world exactly what Devon's missing.
Abby: Your perspective on Newman, it's very eye-opening.
Neil: I worked there a lot of years, Abby.
Abby: You even ran the place. I've been studying financial records, company history.
Neil: You are so like your father.
Abby: [Chuckles] Neil, why didn't it work out for you?
Neil: One essential factor. My last name. You know, Victor toyed with the idea of leaving his company to people outside of his family for many, many years, but in the end, it boiled down to blood being thicker than loyalty and seniority. And when I finally realized that, I had to leave for good.
Abby: And the company suffered without you.
Neil: Hmm. That's nice of you to say.
Abby: It's the truth. I have been dissecting some of the alliances that you scored for Newman, and I got to tell you, they are still profiting the company to this day.
Neil: [Chuckles]
Abby: And I was thinking that it would be an amazing coup if I could lure you back.
Neil: [Coughs]
Abby: Back to Newman.
Neil: Whoa. [Chuckles] You're ser-- no, I-I --
Abby: Yes.
Neil: No, I'm gonna pass on that one.
Abby: Why?
Neil: Uh, been there, left that. But I'm happy to give you some occasional advice informally if you'd like.
Abby: I'd like that. So, what is your advice for today?
Neil: Listen to Victor. Follow your own instincts, and you should be fine. Victor may give you hell, but if you survive it, in the end, it'll pay off.
Abby: [Sighs]
[Camera shutter clicks]
Jordan: Love it, ladies. Yes.
[Camera shutter clicks]
Hilary: Um, how about this?
Jordan: Okay, yeah.
[Camera shutter clicks]
Jordan: Okay, ladies. That's it.
Mariah: Yeah? Was any of that sexy or hot? 'Cause I don't really know how to do that. [Chuckles]
Jordan: We definitely got plenty of that.
Devon: What's going on?
Mariah: We are taking some publicity shots. Oh, wow.
Hilary: Wow. You made us look amazing. Thank you. Thank you.
Jordan: Any time.
Hilary: Okay, Mariah, we have to go get ready for the show.
Mariah: All right.
Devon: Hey, can I see some of the shots?
Jordan: Yeah, of course. Man, I love these. Hilary's looking particularly hot. Impressive.
Devon: Hilary's hotness?
Jordan: You and her, working together with what's going on. She -- she mentioned that you guys were separated.
Devon: That's right. Yeah, we are.
Jordan: Hey, I don't want to make things awkward, but I was thinking about asking Hilary out on a date. Would that be a problem with you?
Devon: No. No, no. Uh, she's on her own, so, uh... I don't know if she's gonna say yes, but do your thing. That's fine.
Jordan: That's fair enough, man. Thanks for being so cool about that.
Devon: Sure.
Jordan: All right, man. I'll see you later.
Devon: Yeah.
Lily: Hello.
Cane: Hello, there.
Lily: How are you?
Cane: Good. How are you? You know, as, uh, as much as I would like a repeat of yesterday's goodbye undress rehearsal performance, um, I think you and I need to talk first about, uh, my dad.
Lily: Uh, yeah. I'm gonna vote no on that.
Cane: Yeah? We still need to talk about it, baby. We have to talk about it.
Lily: Okay, fine. What does Colin want?
Cane: He thinks that you want to kick him out of the house.
Lily: Oh, of course. Typical. Always covering his options.
Cane: Okay, well, are you considering it, or...?
Lily: Look, I have been more than generous.
Cane: Okay. And you've been patient.
Lily: Yes. And it's just -- it's too much to have him here if you're not around.
Cane: All right. Okay.
Lily: [Sighs] Okay, fine. Fine. Just tell me how long he's planning on being here.
Cane: All right, look, it's not gonna be much longer 'cause he thinks he's close to finding a way to pay the money back he took from Jill, okay? Then he and Jill can patch things up, and they'll be back together.
Lily: That's great, but where did he find so much money so quickly?
Cane: I don't know. But he says it didn't involve any criminal activity, so...
Lily: And you believed him.
Jill: You better have gotten my ring back.
Colin: Too soon?
Mariah: How in the world did you make me look that amazing?
Jordan: I refuse to take credit for that. I had two beautiful women in front of the camera. All I had to do was aim and shoot.
[Laughter]
Hilary: I'm sorry, guys, but I have to review my notes before we go on air.
Jordan: Can I have a word real quick?
Hilary: Uh, yeah. Sure.
Jordan: I was thinking maybe you and I could go out for drinks later.
[Knock on door]
Ashley: Come in!
Ravi: Hey.
Ashley: Hey.
Ravi: I brought my laptop in case you need me to take notes.
Ashley: Oh. That won't be necessary. No note-taking today.
Ravi: Okay. What's up?
Ashley: I just hope you know how much I value you, all the contributions you've made.
Ravi: Yeah, you've been very generous and complimentary.
Ashley: I hope I haven't given you the wrong impression, Ravi.
Ravi: About what?
Ashley: Our friendship. You know, our working relationship. What are you thinking?
Ravi: I preferred your original thought. You said friendship.
Ashley: Yeah. We are friends.
Ravi: Good, 'cause I consider you one.
Ashley: We are definitely friends, but you need to know that we are never gonna be anything more than that.
Ravi: Yeah. Uh, was that it?
Ashley: Yeah. I guess so. Is there something else?
Ravi: Why, Ashley? Why is it so impossible for us to be more than friends?
Jill: [Sighs] What a nerve you have, trying to win me back using the wedding ring that Phillip intended for me.
Colin: I meant not harm. I simply wanted to demonstrate that I'd renew our vows if given the chance. Jill, are you all right?
Jill: You have no idea. All those years of torment I lived through. This ring could have changed everything. [Sighs] You know something? With all your selfishness and your greed, you really did me a huge favor.
Colin: I did?
Jill: I could have died without knowing that this ring or that letter ever existed, because on some level, I don't really think Katherine wanted me to find them.
Colin: Why would you think --
Jill: Because she hid the key so well. If I hadn't kicked you out and if Billy hadn't sent your clothes off to charity, you never would have found that music box. You never would have found this ring.
Colin: Yeah, well, it is beautiful. But now that you've seen it and made peace with what it represents, you can use it to get what you really want.
Jill: What do you mean, what I really want?
Colin: It's worth more than what it would cost to buy control of Fenmore's, and then some. I mean, that ring could make you whole again, and I'm hoping us whole, too.
Lily: I'm just thinking who knows what kind of scam Colin pulled to get his hands on all that money. And if he's doing something illegal while he's living in this house?
Cane: Okay, if anything causes danger for you or the kids, he's out of here.
Lily: And no more second chances?
Cane: Not even half a chance.
Lily: [Sighs] I miss you already. But you know what? You're gonna be brilliant. So knock 'em dead, okay?
Cane: I love you. I love you, okay?
Lily: I love you, too.
Cane: Okay, baby.
Hilary: Uh, I'm actually free tonight, so drinks sound great.
Jordan: All right. Perfect.
Devon: Hey, Mariah.
Mariah: Hey.
Devon: Hey, what did you think of your photo shoot? It looked like it went well, right? What do you think of Jordan?
Mariah: Yeah, he's an awesome photographer. Um, I got to --
Devon: He's considering asking Hilary out on a date, and he actually asked if I was okay with it.
Mariah: He did?
Devon: Yeah.
Mariah: Oh, my God. Oh, that's -- that's -- that's great, 'cause I was worried that it was gonna be a big deal, you know, with them going out and getting drinks tonight, but now that you told him that it's okay, that's excellent.
Devon: Hang on a second. She said yes to him?
Jordan: I did run this by Devon before I asked you out.
Hilary: You did?
Jordan: Yeah, I didn't want to make things weird, you know, with us working together. I hope that was cool.
Hilary: Yeah, that was more than cool.
Jordan: All right, good.
Hilary: Actually, do you want to stick around, watch my show?
Jordan: I would love that.
Mariah: I thought that you gave Jordan the green light on asking Hilary out.
Devon: I -- you know, I-I did. I don't have a problem with it. I just -- I'm -- I'm surprised because I didn't think he's her type, you know? But that's what she wants, who am I to stop her?
[Both laugh]
Ravi: I don't want to hear any excuse about you being older than me. I mean, age is merely a number. We spend most of our days juggling numbers and manipulating math to a preferable outcome.
Ashley: It is more than a number. I mean, there is history, there's life experience, there's life lessons, there's heartbreaks. Are you kidding me? I have lived through so many things you could never possibly imagine.
Ravi: That could be true of any woman I meet. I mean, if she's from a different country or background.
Ashley: Okay, that's true. But if you're with a younger woman --
Ravi: You've been in relationships with men of the same age with similar backgrounds. How did those work out?
Ashley: Yeah. Okay, look, we have talked before about that line, right, between work and romance, Ravi.
Ravi: Take an honest assessment of Jabot. I mean, it's practically an incestuous infrastructure. You really think that line exists here?
Ashley: [Laughs]
Ravi: See? And I make you laugh.
Ashley: [Sighs] I don't want to lose that.
Ravi: Then...
Ashley: Ravi, people are already starting to notice how you feel about me. And for you to think that we could be more than friends is going to complicate things, and I'm afraid it's going to potentially ruin what we already have.

Jill: I'm never selling this ring! I'm refusing to even consider it! Have you got that? And as much as I'd like to strangle Katherine's corpse right now... she gave me this. This is a piece of Phillip, and I know how much he loved me. I want to thank you, Colin, for placing this ring in my hands.
Colin: I'm touched that you're so generous. Does this mean that I'm forgiven?
Jill: I can never forgive Katherine for withholding this from me. And I can't forgive you for lying to me and for stealing from me.

Phillip: No, Jill, you're not dreaming. I'll have my freedom, and you and I can be married.
Jill: Yes. Yes, Phillip. [Sighs]

Cane: I will not leave Tokyo without this agreement.
Mariah: What you're about to see may be shocking to some of those with sensitive dispositions.
Hilary: He doesn't want to play with me, so no one else can?
Lily: Is it possible for you to not sleep with someone I know?
