Episode # 10826 ~ Adam makes a dangerous pact; Noah learns that Marisa slept with Luca; Kevin & Mariah celebrate a new chapter in their lives.
Provided By Suzanne
Kevin: Ah! What was that for?
Mariah: What's up with you and your new BFF Billy Abbott?
Kevin: "A" -- not my BFF. "B" -- I have no idea what you're talking about.
Mariah: Hey, he just cornered me about your Swiss hacker chick. I thought it was supposed to be a top-secret project.
Kevin: Damn it. I should have known he'd try to end run around me. What did you tell him?
Mariah: I didn't tell him anything about your techie hottie. What was I supposed to say? She's my favorite yodeler?
Kevin: Even that is saying too much. Don't be saying anything to anyone.
Mariah: Why are you being so secretive? I know that internet security is a big deal, but it can't be that big of a deal.
Kevin: Oh, you're right. No big deal -- making business, personal, and government computers completely secure for the rest of eternity? No big deal.
Mariah: You really think this is gonna be huge.
Kevin: Huger. This innovation is gonna change my life. It's gonna change everybody's life.
Billy: Hello.
Phyllis: Billy! Don't you look chipper?
Billy: Well, if that is code for "not hung over," then yes.
Phyllis: So, you had a nice, sober Christmas?
Billy: 100% alcohol free, and not even a drop of eggnog.
Phyllis: Good for you.
Billy: Yeah, you know, the reward for being such a good boy was I got to spend Christmas with Victoria and the kids.
Phyllis: Well, that is an awesome first step. Now you just got to figure out how to make that into something more permanent.
Billy: I have already got a plan.
Phyllis: Look at you. Industrious, sober. What's your plan?
Billy: I want to keep a lid on it, but I will say there is a wedding in mine and Victoria's immediate future.
Victoria: What?
Billy: [Sighs]
Luca: What's taking so long, Marisa? Where's the paperwork?
Noah: You know what? If there's a problem, I can --
Luca: No problem. Just waiting for the workday to be over. The sooner we're done here, the sooner we can get back to the hotel.
Marisa: Luca.
Luca: What? What can I say? I'm a happy husband.
Very happy.
Noah: You know, uh, I think this is what you were looking for.
Marisa: Thank you for this.
Noah: Well, if that'll be all, I, um...
Luca: Yes. As I said, we're eager to get back in our suite.
Marisa: Luca.
Luca: Mari, I'm sure Noah understand the husband wanting to be alone with his wife.
Marisa: Oh, I just wanted to explain --
Luca: No, I don't think any further explanation is needed.
Noah: Marisa, your husband is right. You made your choice. Now I have choices of my own to make.
Marisa: [Sighs] Why'd you do that?
Luca: I'm your husband. Why should I hide my feelings for you?
Marisa: Well, you didn't need to throw our relationship in his face.
Luca: What difference does it make? Unless you're still in love with him.
Marisa: [Sighs]
Victor: I think the Santoris have prided themselves in running a legitimate business. They have never been convicted of any illegal activities.
Adam: No, no. Which is just proof that they're good at covering their tracks, 'cause we both know they're involved in drug dealing and arms trading.
Victor: Oh, yeah. They certainly wouldn't want to be associated with a scum like this drug lord Marco Annicelli, would they?
Adam: Annicelli, who just happens to be Marisa's ex.
Victor: Yeah. What do you think will happen when the authorities find out about that?
Adam: I think their company would go down in flames.
Victor: You got it.
Adam: So, all we have to do is paint a trail from Annicelli to the Santoris, use that information to get them out of your company.
Victor: Yeah. They certainly wouldn't want to lose their empire over a slice of mine.
Adam: No. I suppose they wouldn't. What about Marisa?
Victor: What about her?
Adam: Well, dad, I'm not sure Noah's gonna be too keen on the idea of you risking her life and all this. In fact, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with it.
Victor: I don't intend to let any harm come to her.
Adam: Well, if the Santoris find out that she's responsible for their downfall, who's to say they won't punish her by getting rid of her?
Billy: Vicki, I didn't see you come in.
Victoria: Uh, yes, I have a meeting.
Phyllis: Uh, maybe I should go.
Victoria: No, Phyllis, that's not necessary.
Billy: Listen, about what you heard...
Victoria: Billy, look, I know that we had a nice Christmas, but you and I are really nowhere close to heading down the aisle again.
Billy: Yeah, I know that.
Victoria: I just heard you, so --
Billy: I wasn't talking about our wedding. I was talking about Abby's. I was hoping we could -- I was hoping we could go together.
Victoria: Oh. [Chuckles]
Billy: Yeah. I was gonna call you, but, um, hey, want to go to Abby's wedding with me?
Victoria: [Sighs] Well, it's a really nice invitation, but I have to be with Abby before the ceremony doing, you know, matron of honor things.
Billy: Yeah, yeah, right. Of course. Um... well, maybe I'll see you there.
Victoria: Yeah. Yeah, you probably will. Uh, okay.
Billy: Um, I promised Johnny that I was gonna take him sledding, so I'll call you later?
Victoria: Okay. Sounds good. Bye, Phyllis.
Phyllis: Victoria.
Billy: See that? Making some headway.
Phyllis: That's what that was?
Billy: Oh, come on. You saw it, right?
Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The ice princess, she's thawing out a little bit. But if you do not keep your promise that you're gonna get your act together, I promise you, she will freeze you out again.
Billy: No worries. I've got something in the works that will prove to everyone that I can make something out of my life.
Mariah: Look, I grew up with Ian ward. I know all about the spin. You can make anyone believe that you have the next big thing.
Kevin: Are you comparing an actual advance in cyber security to the path?
Mariah: For all you know, your hacker friend could be just as big of a con as Ian is.
Kevin: She's hardly a cult leader.
Mariah: You don't know that! She's done a number on you, and now Billy.
Kevin: "A" -- she hasn't done a number on me. And "b" -- she has a name. It's Natalie.
Mariah: As far as you know.
Kevin: She's a computer genius who has a revolutionary idea that's gonna make millions.
Mariah: Oh. Revolutionary. How hot is this chick, anyway?
Kevin: What does that matter? I don't care about the way she looks. I care about what she has to offer. Technologically speaking.
Mariah: Yeah. I'm sure you're very interested in her nanobytes.
Kevin: Look, it doesn't matter anyway.
[Cell phone chimes]
Kevin: I haven't heard from her in... days. [Gasps] She's back online.
Mariah: Ohh! What a relief!
Kevin: Look, you wouldn't understand, okay, but hackers cannot navigate cyber space like the rest of us. They have to disappear and reappear without being detected.
Mariah: So? What'd she say?
Kevin: We're back in business. [Sighs] Now I just need an investor to come up with the cash so I can get this puppy up and running.
Mariah: Hello? Billy! He already knows about your top-secret project.
Kevin: Yeah, thanks to you.
Mariah: He knows. He wants in. I don't see what the problem is here.
Kevin: He has been spiraling out of control for weeks. His own brother fired him from the family business for causing major damage. Not exactly the kind of guy you want to hook up with on a business venture.
Mariah: If you're looking at it that way.
Kevin: So now you're gonna tell me another way to look at it, right?
Mariah: Billy is desperate to prove that he can turn his life around. So desperate, in fact, that I bet he would be willing to put in whatever it takes, even if that means more than you need.
Victor: Look, my goal is not to see Marisa get hurt, all right?
Adam: But you wouldn't mind her leaving town, right, out of Noah's life? I'm just saying, what if it's in a body bag?
Victor: Son, no one is gonna lose their life. All I want is complete control of my damn company. You got that?
Adam: I understand that.
Victor: Good.
Adam: I'm with you on that. You want to expose the Santoris for their illegal activities. That plan of yours could land you in prison, as well.
Victor: You almost sound concerned. My goodness. How touching.
Adam: Look, all I'm saying is, dad, you go around, you start leaking information about the Santoris' illegal activities, Luca's liable to retaliate and go public with your involvement with, uh, with Marco Annicelli.
Victor: Well, that's his word against mine.
Adam: Yeah, it's his word against yours until jack jumps on board, right? Then the odds start to stack against you. It's risky.
Victor: You bailing out on this?
Adam: Am I bailing on our plan? That's -- [Laughs] That's hilarious. You say it like it's an option. We both know if I don't do exactly what you want me to do, you're gonna -- you're gonna blow up my life.
Victor: I'm not the one who deceived Chelsea.
Adam: No, no, but you're the one who continues to exploit my mistake over and over and over again.
Victor: Are you on board or not?
Adam: Of course. I'll do exactly what you want me to do. I just want you to know all the variables in play here, dad.
Victor: I know what the variables are, okay? I'll take care of jack Abbott and Luca.
Adam: And what about Noah? What if he goes soft and he tells Marisa that we're after her husband?
Victor: Nothing will happen to Noah. I want this Santori son of a bitch out of my company. And no one will stop me. Is that clear?
[Door opens]
Marisa: [Sighs]
Luca: Answer me, Marisa. Do you still have feelings for Noah?
Marisa: Are you jealous?
Luca: Of that boy? Don't make me laugh.
Marisa: Then why did you feel the need to throw us reconciling in his face?
Luca: I told him the truth. It's not my fault he can't deal with it.
Marisa: You didn't need to flaunt our relationship like that.
Luca: You haven't answered my question. Do you still love him?
[Cell phone rings]
Marisa: [Sighs]
Luca: Luca Santori.
Adam: I need to speak to you right away.
Luca: I'm on my way to my office.
Adam: Um, I was thinking someplace a little more private. Why don't you come to my penthouse? And, um... don't tell anyone we're meeting, okay?
Kevin: I know I'm gonna regret asking this, but why would I ask Billy for more money than I need?
Mariah: I can't believe you managed to rob a bank.
Kevin: This is different. You're asking me to cheat a friend.
Mariah: I wouldn't call it cheating.
Kevin: What would you call it, then?
Mariah: Creative accounting. How much money do you need?
Kevin: Let's see. There's beta testing, launching the product on various platforms, and support services. I'd say $1 million.
Mariah: Tell Billy you need $2 million.
Kevin: What?
Mariah: He doesn't know how much this crap costs. He doesn't even know what it is! If you told Billy that you needed $10 million, he'd believe you. Actually, that's not --
Kevin: No way!
Mariah: Okay. Fine. $2 million. You'll still turn a sweet profit.
Kevin: Yeah, I would, but...
Mariah: Billy takes bigger risks than this all the time with his bookie.
Kevin: Exactly. That's the problem. Doesn't it seem like a safer bet to go with someone more stable, someone like jack or Victor?
Mariah: No. You're not gonna get a penny more than you need from those guys. And if Billy is as desperate as you say, he's gonna give you whatever you want.
Phyllis: I'm glad to hear that you're serious about getting your life back on track.
Billy: Yep. No gambling, no drinking.
Phyllis: No bar fights?
Billy: Oh, all right, fine.
Phyllis: Sounds like you're making all the right steps.
Billy: Yeah, but eliminating my vices isn't enough. I mean, I've got to do something to prove to Victoria and everybody else that my only talent isn't screwing up.
Phyllis: Oh, you're taking up the violin?
Billy: Aren't you the funny one today. No, I-I'm trying to invest in this business venture, but I've got to raise some capital.
Phyllis: Well, I'm sure that jack would be willing to talk to you.
Billy: No. No, I-I want to do this on my own, without the Abbott family name or money.
Phyllis: That's impressive. I wish you luck.
Billy: That I might need some of.
[Cell phone chimes]
Billy: Or maybe not.
Phyllis: Good news?
Billy: Uh, yeah. My luck's changing already.
Phyllis: Billy, I really hope that everything works out for you.
Billy: Keep your fingers crossed.
Victoria: Uh, yes, just please tell Phil I hope he's feeling better and I'll have my assistant call to reschedule. Thank you.
Phyllis: Hello, Victoria.
Victoria: Phyllis.
Phyllis: Do you have a minute?
Victoria: It depends. What for?
Phyllis: I'd like to speak to you about Billy.
Phyllis: I know we've had our differences.
Victoria: [Scoffs] You mean like the time that you used the paragon virus to try to destroy Newman enterprises?
Phyllis: You mean when your father nearly bankrupted jabot and forced jack to pay him a half a billion dollars?
Victoria: Because of the paragon thing that I just mentioned before.
Phyllis: Okay. We have our legitimate gripes against each other, but we have one thing in common. We are both pulling for Billy.
Victoria: Yeah. Well...
Phyllis: I'm sorry. Did I misread things? Thought you forgave him for all his faults.
Victoria: I'm sure you know that no one is hoping more than me that Billy gets his life back on track.
Phyllis: But?
Victoria: Hoping and wanting something doesn't make it true.
Phyllis: You're going to give him a chance, aren't you, to prove himself?
Victoria: Phyllis, every time I've done that, he's let me down.
Phyllis: Look, I know what it is to want to protect your heart. This past year, mine was betrayed in the worst way possible.
Victoria: What do you mean? Who betrayed you?
Kevin: Thanks.
Billy: Hey. I got your text. I hope this means you changed your mind about letting me invest in your internet security project?
Kevin: You want to keep your voice down?
Billy: Sorry, sorry. Um, so, uh, Natalie's text said she was ready to move forward, right? Let's -- let's move forward.
Kevin: Well, we need money for research, testing, and launch.
Billy: Okay, great. How much?
Kevin: $2 million. Is that a problem?
Billy: Uh, no. No.
Kevin: 'Cause I'm sensing a little hesitation.
Billy: I guess I'm just wondering, what -- what changed your mind about bringing me on?
Mariah: Are you staying in town for the coffee, or do you just like torturing my brother?
Marisa: I was just asking myself that, why I'm still in Genoa city, I mean.
Mariah: Well, crazy thing -- there are flights out every hour. I'm sure you would have no problem catching a seat on one and putting an end to Noah's suffering real quick.
Marisa: The last thing I want to do is hurt Noah.
Mariah: And yet I don't see you packing.
Marisa: It's complicated. [Sighs] It's like I-I have deep feelings for Noah and Luca.
Mariah: [Chuckling] Wonderful. So you're stringing them both along.
Marisa: No, that's not true. It's just... God, it's difficult to know what to do. I know I'm not being fair, but when you love someone, it's hard for the heart to let go.
Mariah: And when you love two people? Then what? Is it doubly hard to figure out what to do? You can't have them both, Marisa.
Marisa: You're right. It's time I set things straight with Noah.
Victor: Noah!
Noah: I'm ready to help you bring down the Santoris. Whatever you need, you just let me know.
Victor: My goodness. What changed your mind?
Noah: I want those criminals out of your company. I don't care what it takes.
Victor: But you were so concerned about using Marisa to oust her husband.
Noah: Well, that loyalty was misplaced.
Victor: What happened?
Noah: Marisa has decided to go back to being Luca's wife in every way.
Victor: I see.
Noah: What do I expect, you know? It's exactly what you said would happen all along.
Victor: Oh, boy. Please sit down, Noah. [Sighs] Sorry, my boy. I know how this must hurt. That's why I tried to warn you before not to become involved with a woman like her. It's dangerous. I understand how this must hurt. Question now is what do you do with that hurt?
Noah: You were right. She obviously doesn't give a damn about me, so why should I care what happens to her?
Adam: Thanks for coming. Come on in.
Luca: So, why all the secrecy? What am I doing here?
Adam: Uh, I want to talk to you about Victor. He, uh, he plans to get you and your family out of Newman enterprises.
Luca: Well, he's welcome to try.
Adam: Yeah. Well, he's already got a plan in place, so...
Luca: Victor Newman is no match for the Santori family.
Adam: I admire that, but, uh, I wouldn't underestimate my father, if I were you.
Luca: I'm not afraid of him.
Adam: Well, you don't need to be afraid. You're not the one in danger. He plans to use Marisa to get what he wants.
Luca: Why are you telling me this? We barely know each other.
Adam: It's a good point. Barely knew each other. If we knew each other a little bit better, you'd know that I'm not a big fan of my father's. In fact, the only, uh, reason I'm working with him is because he's blackmailing me.
Luca: With what?
Adam: Does it matter, really? I don't think it matters. The point is, I think we both know what it's like to be under the thumb of an overbearing father, right?
Luca: Yeah, we do.
Adam: Yeah?
Luca: Mine's never given me the respect I'm due. I should be running the Santori empire on my own.
Adam: Probably. But he keeps hanging on, right? Hanging on and hanging on. Like Victor.
Luca: Yes, he does. And I don't belong at the bottom of the pecking order.
Adam: Okay. Well, what do you say we work together, put ourselves at the top of the food chain? How's that sound?
Phyllis: Something like that.
Victoria: You were betrayed by jack?
Phyllis: Something like that.
Victoria: Are you talking about when he merged jabot with Newman and all those months he wasn't acting like himself, he was wearing those strange golf outfits?
Phyllis: I lived with a stranger. The man that I married and fell in love with and planned a life with was not the man I thought he was.
Victoria: But everything's okay between you and jack now, isn't it?
Phyllis: Well, it's taken a long time. I've had to learn how to open my heart and trust him again.
Victoria: You think I should do the same thing with Billy.
Phyllis: I think he needs a break.
Victoria: Are you his guardian angel?
Phyllis: I'm nobody's angel. I've just come to care about Billy. He's the pain in the ass little brother I never had.
Victoria: Yeah, he's definitely a pain in the ass.
Phyllis: I'd hate to see him get hurt.
Victoria: Well, I don't want to see that, either. But you know Billy can be his own worst enemy.
Phyllis: That's why I came to you. You may be the only one who can save him from himself.
Kevin: You're the worst. I can't win with you. You beg me to let you in on the action. Now I am, and you're giving me a hard time.
Billy: Okay, all right. You said -- and I'm just paraphrasing here -- "jack doesn't trust you with his company. Victoria doesn't trust you with her kids. So why would I trust you with something so big?"
Kevin: I don't remember saying that.
Billy: [Sighs] Kevin, come on. What's changed? Why are you suddenly interested in me being an investor?
Kevin: Okay, you're right. There is a reason I chose you. [Sighs] You're already in the loop. I can't waste my precious time putting together a business proposal, waiting for a bunch of stuffy suits to vote on it. I have to let Natalie know that we have backing before she takes the idea to someone else.
Billy: Okay, it's just -- $2 million. I mean, that's a lot of money.
Kevin: Well, in six months, it will be $200 million. In a year, this company will be worth $1 billion, Billy. This is the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Billy: Yeah. It is.
Kevin: So, you're in?
Billy: Yeah, I'm in.
Kevin: Great.
Billy: Okay, um... I will get you the money tomorrow, and, Kevin, I really appreciate this.
Kevin: Well, you know what? Don't thank me until we turn a profit.
Billy: We are gonna turn this baby into a gold mine, and I will finally prove to my family that I deserve their respect. [Sighs]
Victor: Well, your timing couldn't be better.
Noah: What do you mean?
Victor: You coming on board when Adam is having second thoughts.
Noah: Does he think that something could go wrong?
Victor: Nothing will go wrong, all right? You just focus on finding out from Marisa what she knows about the Santoris' illegal activities.
Noah: And then what?
Victor: You leave it to me. There a problem?
Noah: What do you think is gonna happen to Marisa if you use the information that she gives you to take down the Santoris?
Victor: Good question. If she stays married to Luca, then obviously she'd somehow by association be tied to the Santoris' illegal activities.
Noah: And what if they find out that she betrayed them?
[Knock on door]
Victor: Come in! Marisa. What can I do for you?
Marisa: I was, um, hoping to speak to Noah.
Adam: Look at you. You want the power and control as badly as I do, don't you?
Luca: Maybe.
Adam: So take it.
Luca: How?
Adam: How? Come on, man. We're younger, we're stronger, we're smarter than our fathers. You and I work together, we force them out. We take control of our respective companies.
Luca: You're dreaming.
Adam: Am I?
Luca: Yeah.
Adam: Well, I got a plan to go along with my dream.
Kevin: I have the money. No, not on me. That'd be a lot of money to carry around, but I have a reliable backer, so now the next step is you coming here. You are gonna love Wisconsin. It's Switzerland without the chalets. Well, don't worry about that. I'll take care of you. [Laughs] Okay, listen, just, um, call me when you've booked your flight, all right? All right. Talk soon. Bye.
Mariah: So, I'm guessing you got the stacks from Billy.
Kevin: Yeah, I felt a little guilty asking for that much.
Mariah: Oh, don't. I mean, he's gonna be thanking you when this super-secret galactic security shield drops over the cyber space world.
Kevin: Yeah, 'cause that's how it works.
Mariah: It would be cool if it did.
Kevin: Maybe you're right. Billy never even questioned the amount. $2 million seemed right. It was pretty genius on your part asking for double what we needed to launch.
Mariah: Well, between your geekiness and my street smarts, I think we can fool people into thinking we actually know what we're doing.
Kevin: We make a good team, don't we?
Mariah: Sugar?
Kevin: No, I'm good.
Mariah: You know, um, I was thinking maybe we should name something in this super-secret project after me. Like instead of a firewall, we could do Mariah-wall.
Kevin: How about I do you one better and make you part of this officially?
Mariah: As what? V.P. Of running scams?
Kevin: You can come up with your own title. Anything but that.
Mariah: Okay. Well, since I'm gonna be a part of making history, I'm gonna need a quick tutorial.
Kevin: Okay. Credit cards, bank accounts, any transaction you make online will be protected beyond anything the world has ever seen before. Smarter than fingerprints, smarter than retinal scans. The second someone tries to steal your information, they will be instantly identified through microscopic chips embedded in everything, from ATM cards to anything with a battery.
Mariah: I'm still not sure I understand.
Kevin: Okay, put more simply, it's wiping identity theft off the face of the planet.
Mariah: Who doesn't want that?
Kevin: Anybody that has a device that is hooked up to the internet is going to be willing to pay for this technology, which means our customer base is literally in the billions.
Mariah: Wow.
Kevin: Yeah.
Mariah: I mean, this is even bigger than I thought. But...
Kevin: But what?
Mariah: Natalie. I mean, she created this thing. The saying goes, "it takes a thief to catch a thief."
Kevin: She could bolt with the start-up money. But if she does, thanks to you, I'm not gonna be the one who loses out.
Gil: Billy. Almost given up on you.
Billy: Well, don't get used to seeing me, Gil. I just need some fast cash. And this is my last bet ever.
Gil: [Scoffs] Yeah, I've never heard that before. What's the wager?
Billy: All right. I've done my homework, and this is a sure thing. In the fifth, everything I've got, all for love to win.
Gil: That's a bit of a long shot, Billy. 10 to 1. How much fast cash you need?
Billy: $2 million.
Victoria: You're a good father. It's just that...
Billy: It doesn't erase my screw-ups. I know.
Victoria: I can't excuse your behavior lately, Billy.
Billy: Look... look, look... I'm gonna make it up to you, okay? I will. I'm -- I'm gonna be the man that you deserve. I will be the father that those kids deserve. Okay?
Victoria: [Sighs] I really want to believe you, but fixing our family isn't gonna be as easy as fixing a gingerbread cookie.
Billy: Look, I know, I know. I do. But I will -- I will put in the work. I'm willing to do that.
Victoria: I feel like I've heard that before so many times.
Billy: Yeah, but this time, I mean it, right?
Victoria: You mean it every time you say it. I can't, Billy. I can't go down this road again, hoping for the best and knowing that inevitably the worst is gonna come.
Billy: Don't. Don't, okay? Just don't...say that. Please. Listen. I want you to give me one more chance. Please? Just one more chance to make it up to you?
Victoria: Hi, Noah. Marisa, hi. Is dad in his office?
Noah: Uh, yeah.
Victoria: Thanks.
[Knock on door]
Victor: Come in!
Victoria: Hello, dad.
Victor: Hi, sweetheart.
Victoria: I just saw Noah and Marisa. What's going on?
Victor: [Sighs] Your father's just come up with a plan to regain complete control of Newman enterprises.
Victoria: You've decided to cut ties with the Santoris.
Victor: Yeah, in a manner of speaking.
Victoria: All right. What do you need me to do?
Victor: Oh, Adam and I will take care of things, okay?
Victoria: Meaning what?
Victor: I don't want you to become involved. That's what it means.
Victoria: So, you trust your back-stabbing son and your inexperienced grandson to help you with your plan, but you don't trust me.
Noah: You don't owe me an explanation, Marisa. You don't.
Marisa: No, I'd like to anyway. After everything that's happened, it's the least that I can do.
Noah: Okay.
Marisa: I wasn't -- [Sighs] I wasn't expecting to go back to Luca. And I definitely wasn't planning on sleeping with him.
Noah: Well, you obviously still love the guy.
Marisa: We have a complicated relationship.
Noah: Okay.
Marisa: I mean, it doesn't mean that I don't care about you. I do. But, you know, we share a history. We have a child together, and I know that was always something that was hard for you to deal with.
Noah: No, I get it. I do, okay? I acted out of jealousy, and I pushed you right into Luca's arms.
Adam: So, we both make anonymous tips to the FBI. All right? You tell them that your father's legitimate business is a front for his illegal activities, and I tell them about my father's dealings with Marco Annicelli this past year.
Luca: I imagine they'd be interested in that.
Adam: Probably would. Probably lead to some kind of investigation that would probably lead to a couple of arrests. Once they're gone and locked up, that's where you and I come in. We take over.
Luca: You've thought this through. You make it sound so simple.
Adam: Well, Luca, if we work together, why wouldn't it be simple?
Luca: True. Why should I trust you?
Adam: Well, because we both want the same thing. And the same thing is stopping us from getting it. Now, I don't know about your father. I don't know the man. But Victor's not gonna let go of Newman enterprises until somebody pries it from his cold, dead hand.
Luca: Well, no, my father's the same way.
Adam: Yeah?
Luca: But listen, your plan is not without risk.
Adam: That's true. You don't really strike me as the kind of person that backs down from risk.
Luca: Good observation.
Adam: And I bet you're like me, right? You're sick of, uh, sick of your ideas being shot down just because they're yours, ideas that could take your company into the 21st century? And didn't your father cause you to lose the woman you love once already? What's to stop him from tearing you and Marisa apart again?
Luca: Nothing.
Adam: Not a thing. Not a damn thing. Victor -- he holds my future in his hand, too. This life that I love with my wife and my son, he could blow that up any chance he feels like it.
Luca: They're very much alike, your father and mine.
Adam: It's a bad spot to be in, man. What do you say? Want to work together, get them out of our lives once and for all?
Kevin: I don't think it's really sunk in what this could mean for us, if this project ends up being as big as I think it's gonna be.
Mariah: Billy's betting the whole enchilada on it.
Kevin: Yeah. He's counting on it to win back Victoria's love, his family's respect.
Mariah: And what about you? What are you hoping to get out of all of this, besides a gazillion dollars?
Kevin: Well, the money would be awesome. Um, but I think what I'm most looking forward to is finally being seen as a pioneer in the technology field instead of just some computer geek.
Mariah: You will always be a computer geek to me.
Kevin: Aww. Thank you.
Mariah: But I could see you winning a Nobel prize for advances in the field of technological wizardry.
Kevin: I don't think that's a category.
Mariah: Yeah.
Kevin: Okay. Your turn. Sky is the limit. What are you gonna do with this huge paycheck that I give you?
Mariah: You know, as hard as it is to believe, money's never really been my thing.
Kevin: There's got to be something.
Mariah: Yeah, to be loved.
Kevin: Well, you already have that.
Mariah: [Exhales sharply]
Billy: Here we go. Come on. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Go. Go! No! Damn it! Give me a scotch. Um, double.
Phyllis: Cancel that. You want to tell me what the hell is going on with you?
Victor: Of course I trust you, okay? But I need you to trust me. This is part of the business I don't ever want you to become involved in, all right? The Santoris fight very dirty, and we're gonna fight dirty back.
Victoria: All right, dad. But just promise me one thing, all right?
Victor: What? What?
Victoria: You have to protect Noah, too. I don't care what happens to Adam, but I don't want to see Noah get hurt.
Victor: I promise you no harm will come to my grandson.
Marisa: Noah, please don't blame yourself for what happened to us.
Noah: I do. I hurt you. I accused you of some terrible things. I was cruel.
Marisa: Stop. You don't think I'm tough enough to handle that?
Noah: I do. I know that you are. But I crossed a line.
Marisa: You were in pain.
Noah: It's no excuse. It's not. Look, what I didn't do is I didn't stop to think how difficult it would be for you to have to say goodbye to your daughter all over again. I didn't do that. So, no one can blame you for turning to Luca.
Marisa: [Sighs] No, it wasn't -- it wasn't that simple.
Noah: I don't want you to feel guilty for choosing him. I don't want that. I want you to be happy, okay? That's all I've ever wanted.
Marisa: Noah --
Noah: It's fine, really. It is. Okay? Now, I can't sit here and keep on pretending that losing you isn't killing me, because it is. I love you, Marisa. That still hasn't changed.
Adam: What do you say? You ready to take control of the Santori empire? Sound good?
Luca: It's very tempting.
Adam: It's tempting because it's time.
Luca: Ever since I was a boy, I wanted to stop the illegal dealings my father was involved in and make our company legitimate. I dreamed of my children growing up with a better reputation than the one I was born into.
Adam: Well, you work with me, man, you can have it. You can give it to them.
Luca: Younger, stronger, smarter? I guess I'd rather deal with you than Victor.
Adam: Does that mean we have a deal?
Luca: To the next generation of Santoris and Newmans.
Adam: And out with the old.
Next on "the young and the restless"...
Abby: I can't believe it's finally here. New year's eve. My wedding day.
Dylan: You know, Ashley and everything that's going on, I just want to make sure that you're not having any second thoughts right now.
