Episode # 10783 ~ Tragedy strikes the Newman Family after the verdict in Adam's trial is revealed.
Provided By Suzanne
Abby: Wow.
Stitch: Hey.
Abby: Bubbles. What's the occasion?
Stitch: Being alive, being reminded of what's important, how lucky we are. These last few weeks, you know, nick and sage's baby fighting to make it in this world, Delia's remembrance ceremony, Adam's trial. Life... [Scoffs] Life is fragile.
Abby: Everything can change in an instant.
Stitch: Look, um... [Chuckles] We've had some problems, but so much has happened lately that made me realize we can't waste a single moment, Abby. That's why I'm hoping tonight, a night like any night, will be a night we're never gonna forget. Abby Newman --
Ashley: What are you guys celebrating? Hi.
Billy: Is it just wishful thinking to believe that my little girl is finally at peace?
Victoria: No. We both felt it. She's at peace.
[Cell phone rings]
Victoria: It might be important.
Billy: It's probably just somebody with news about Adam's sentencing.
Victoria: Well, don't you want to know?
Billy: No. I don't even want to think about Adam tonight. Come on.
Michael: All right, no statements now, please.
Open up! Ready to go!
Michael.
[Engine revs]
Chelsea: Adam?! Oh, my God.
Michael: Don't -- don't move him!
Chelsea: Adam, Adam, Adam, Adam! Are you okay?! Open your eyes. Oh, my God! Adam, open your eyes. Oh, my God.
Phyllis: What the hell just happened?
Jack: Car -- car never even stopped.
Michael: Hello?
Chelsea: Somebody call an ambulance!
Victor: Sweetheart.
Michael: We're on it. We're on it.
Victor: Sweetheart, they're -- they're coming.
Chelsea: Adam?
Michael: Outside the courthouse.
Chelsea: [Sniffles] Adam. Adam? [Sighs]
Sage: He's grown, right?
Nick: 40 grams just yesterday.
Sage: Yeah.
Nick: That's -- that's pretty big, right?
Sage: Yeah. He looks bigger, stronger.
Nick: This boy's gonna be a bruiser. You watch.
Sage: I want Christian to know that this isn't the world. It's not tubes and monitors and this plastic thing. It's laughter and lullabies and falling asleep in our arms.
Nick: I know you want to hold him and sing silly songs to him, give him little kisses all over his little neck, do all the things a new parent gets to do. It's gonna happen, okay?
Sage: But when? I know I get to see him every day here, and I'm grateful for that, but it's a hospital. It's not the same as being home with you.
Nick: Well, look at it this way. It gives me more time to finish up his nursery. And if you have a minute...
Sage: [Chuckles]
Nick: ...I would just love for you to give me the "final" final -- I mean, the final decision on the color blue that you want his nursery.
Sage: Wow. There are so many to choose from.
Nick: Yeah. Who knew?
Sage: Nick. Sometimes I think we'll never take him home.
Nick: All right, listen to me. Our little boy is climbing the charts. He's getting better. He's fighting so hard 'cause he wants to come home with us so we can all be together. How lucky are we?
Chelsea: Open your eyes. Adam, open your eyes.
Phyllis: Chelsea. Chelsea.
Chelsea: Adam. You're gonna be okay. You're gonna be okay.
Victor: Anyone see who was driving the car?
Jack: That doesn't matter right now. What matters is --
Victor: I want to know who was behind the wheel. Come to think of it, your brother Billy boy left the courtroom just before the sentencing, didn't he?
Nikki: Victor, please, this is the not the time --
Victor: I want answers!
Phyllis: You don't think it's possible that Billy --
Jack: Meet me at the hospital. Go to the hospital. I'll be there.
Michael: Chelsea.
Chelsea: No. I'm going with him!
Michael: You can't!
Chelsea: He's my husband!
Michael: He is a prisoner! He's a prisoner.
Abby: No celebration. Just a night like any other night, right?
Stitch: Same old, same old.
Abby: Yeah, so we don't want to keep you.
Ashley: I've got news. Adam's been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Stitch: Oh.
Abby: 10 years? That's a lifetime. Chelsea must be devastated.
Ashley: Well, I'm sure she is.
Stitch: You know, I know he has to be punished, but this is the same guy who delivered sage's baby in the park and kept him alive.
Abby: How's dad?
Ashley: Even though justice was served, there was no joy in that courtroom.
[Pager beeps]
Stitch: It's memorial. An emergency. I got to go.
Abby: Yeah.
Stitch: I'm so sorry.
Abby: No, no, go save lives.
Stitch: Look, with luck, it'll be quick. I'll come back and -- I'll come back and we'll finish where we left off.
Abby: Okay.
Ashley: Well, it looks like the two of you have patched things up.
Abby: Yeah, um... I know this might sound crazy, but I think Ben was about to propose.
Ashley: Really? Wow. That's nice, huh?
Abby: Nice? That's all you've got?
Ashley: No, I've -- I've got more.
Billy: Nobody could make a mud pie like Dee Dee. [Chuckles] You know, I know that this feeling, this...loss is never gonna go away, but for the first time, I feel like I found a way to live without the rage and the guilt. I couldn't have done that without you.
Victoria: She'd be so proud of you right now.
Billy: You know, I've been so angry for so long, and all I wanted to do was punish myself. And I end up hurting you and Johnny and Katie. And that's the last thing I ever wanted. Victoria, I love you. I love you and our kids and the life that we can give them.
Victoria: I'm really glad to hear that. Because we love you, too. [Chuckles] Welcome back.
Jack: Hey. I called your house. Your nanny said I might find you here.
Billy: Oh. Is this about Adam's sentencing? Oh, wait. Let me guess. Victor got to the judge, and Adam's gonna walk.
Jack: Adam was sentenced to 10 years in prison. But he may not serve it.
Billy: I knew it. The black knight worked his mojo.
Jack: Billy, on his way to a prison van, Adam was hit by a car. It was a clear case of hit-and-run.
Sage: I want a color that conjures up blue skies. Freedom, hope, happiness. Ah. Like this one. Pacific cobalt.
Nick: Pacific cobalt? Susan, what do you think of pacific cobalt? How's that grab you?
Very nice. He'll love it.
Nick: Well, I'm glad to hear that, 'cause I already ordered it.
Sage: Wait. You already got it?
Nick: Yep.
Sage: [Chuckles]
Nick: Speaks freedom, hope, and happiness, emphasis on the happy.
Sage: Does that mean you already ordered the rest of the furniture?
Nick: I did. I'm not gonna be putting that together, though. Assembling the crib really took a lot out of me.
Sage: [Chuckles] Hey, go easy on your old man, will you?
Michael: Hey.
Nick: Hey, bud.
Michael: Hey.
Sage: Hey, Michael.
Michael: How's the newest Newman?
Nick: You know, he's, uh, hanging out with his folks, planning his future. What brings you by? Did the sentence come down?
Michael: Yes, uh, 10 years in prison.
Nick: Wow.
Michael: Uh, look, there's no way -- a good way of saying this. [Clears throat] Adam is in the emergency room, and we're not sure if he's going to make it.
Stitch: What do we got? I know the patient. What happened?
Car ran him down outside the courthouse.
Stitch: All right, I need to get him in a room, stat. Let's lose the handcuffs, all right?
He's a prisoner. He's --
Stitch: Are you kidding me?! He's unconscious! Let's go! Do it!
Chelsea: Adam? Adam? Oh, my God. Is he gonna be okay?
Victor: Will he be all right?
Stitch: We'll know something soon, Mr. Newman.
Chelsea: Oh, God.
Stitch: All right, we need to cut him out of his clothes, start an I.V., And begin a neuro exam. Alert radiology. We're gonna need x-rays and a ct scan. Let's go.
Chelsea: Oh, God.
Sorry, ma'am. he's broken and he -- he's in pain. E.
Chelsea: I have to be in there. I'm his wife.
I'm sorry, ma'am.
Nikki: Chelsea. We need to let Ben do his job.
Chelsea: But Adam -- Adam needs me.
Nikki: He needs medical attention. So the best thing you can do right now is to sit and wait with us, all right?
Chelsea: He did the right thing. I mean, he -- he accepted his punishment. He didn't try to run, and now he's broken and he -- he's in pain. He's a victim, and they're treating him like he's a criminal.
Victor: Where's jack, by the way?
Phyllis: I have no idea.
Victor: Oh, really? First Billy boy disappears, and now your husband?
Phyllis: You know how jack feels about Adam. If he isn't at this hospital, there's a damn good reason.
Victor: You know what I think? I think jack went to look for his useless brother because he's afraid that Billy boy was behind the wheel of the car that hit Adam.
Phyllis: You're upset and you want answers. You were at that court. You heard Billy. He didn't do it.
Victor: I didn't believe a word he said.
Chelsea: Victor, please, can you call somebody? I have to get in the room.
Victor: Sweetheart, come here.
Chelsea: Connor can't lose his dad.
Victor: Adam is going to be okay. Connor will see his father. I promise you. I'll do everything in my power to make sure that happens.
Paul: So Adam Newman was the only victim? Okay. All right, keep -- keep me updated. Right. I have to go. You were there. What happened?
Christine: Oh, my God. It happened right in front of me. [Sighs] I mean, Adam didn't have a chance. I saw the car coming, and Adam couldn't move, and all I could -- all I could think about was the night that Nikki and Neil hit me, the night we lost our baby. [Sighs] [Sobs]
Paul: It's okay. What can I do? Can I take you home?
Christine: No. No, look, we've got to deal with this. I mean, you got -- you just got to get my statement.
Paul: You sure?
Christine: Yes. Yes.
Paul: All right. Come here. Just tell me what happened.
Christine: Okay. The judge had just pronounced sentence. Adam was being escorted to the prison van, and I'm telling you, a car came out of nowhere straight for Adam.
Paul: So he -- he was a target?
Christine: There's no doubt.
Paul: What can you tell me about the car? Make, model, license plate, color?
Christine: It was white.
Paul: Uh-huh.
[Telephone rings]
Paul: Oh.
Christine: No, no. Just -- it could be about Adam. You got to get it.
Paul: Williams. Yeah, Victor. How's Adam?
Victor: I don't know. We're not allowed to see him. I'm just very concerned that he gets the best possible care.
Paul: I'm sure the doctors are doing everything they can.
Victor: Paul, I buried my son once. I'm not about to do it again.
Billy: Don't tell me. Victor's already branded me suspect number one.
Jack: He had to blame someone.
Billy: And here you are. Do you think I did it? Come to see for yourself?
Victoria: Okay, listen, Billy's been with me the whole time. We left the courthouse, we went to the park to see Delia's tree. I'm sure there were people that saw us.
Billy: Yeah, but don't forget to check the surveillance cameras, jack, you know, just in case.
Jack: I'm not here to accuse you of anything. I'm just trying to give you a heads up in case --
Billy: In case what? There's a pair of handcuffs with my name on them?
Victoria: Jack, anyone who was in court would know that Billy didn't do this. He forgave Adam. He took responsibility for his share in Delia's death. It's not exactly the actions of a man who would run down Adam with a car.
Jack: That may be true, but someone hated Adam enough to want him dead, and they may have succeeded.
Billy: You know, if I had heard this news two years ago, hell, two days ago, I would have thought that Adam had it coming. But...now...
Jack: You touched a lot of people with what you said today in the courtroom. Me included. Listen, I'm gonna get to the hospital, all right?
Billy: Um, how's Chelsea doing?
Jack: She's about to lose the man she loves again. And this time, there won't be a miraculous return.
Victoria: Let's go.
Nikki: Hi.
Sage: Hi. How's Adam?
Nikki: Sweetheart. We're still waiting to hear.
Sage: Is there anything we can do?
Nikki: You could tell me good news. Tell me about my grandbaby.
Nick: Christian's gaining weight. He's improving every day.
Sage: And I'm sensing he's gonna have his father's sense of humor.
Nikki: Oh, lord, help us.
Nick: She doesn't mean that.
Nikki: Oh, yeah, I do. [Chuckles]
Nick: Is that necessary?
Victor: Well, I asked Paul the same question.
[Cell phone chimes]
Michael: This is Paul. He wants me down at the station. Let's see what he can do. Excuse me.
Victor: Sit down, son.
Nick: Don't lose hope, all right? Adam's... he's too rotten to die.
Sage: Hey. Are you okay? I can't imagine what it must have been like to be there.
Chelsea: The car -- it was so fast. I... it just kept coming. I couldn't stop it, and I... [Voice breaking] I didn't even have time to warn him. I just -- I just watched, and now -- now he's in there.
Sage: When I first met Adam, I learned very quickly that he loved you and Connor more than anything in the world, Chelsea.
Chelsea: Stop talking about him like he's dead. He's gonna make it. [Sighs] He has to.
Nikki: Victor, the kids have an update on our new grandbaby.
Victor: Oh, my goodness. How is Christian?
Sage: The doctors are pleased with his progress.
Victor: Yeah?
Nick: Yeah, little man's getting better every day. He's gonna need that first pony soon.
Sage: [Chuckles] Until then, he's packing on ounces, and his heart is strong.
Victor: Yeah? Well, I'm not surprised, you know. He's a Newman. Strong. We fight.
Victoria: I'm so sorry.
Victor: Hi, sweetheart.
Victoria: Hi. Any word?
Nikki: No, not yet. Hi, darling.
Victor: Excuse me. What is he doing here?
Victoria: Jack gave us the news. We wanted to be here.
Victor: Officer, you might as well arrest him.
Paul: I'm gonna need a statement from you, too.
Christine: I should go and debrief my staff.
Michael: Don't leave on my account.
Christine: Well, hopefully you'll be more help than I was.
Paul: No, Chris, you were very helpful.
Michael: Yeah, it was a bit of a shocker.
Christine: Yeah. Let's just focus on catching who did this.
Paul: Chris remembered the color of the car.
Michael: White.
Paul: Good. We're batting a thousand on that one. Do you remember anything else?
Michael: Not much. I mean, before any of us could react, the car had slammed into Adam and kept going. Um, I think it was a sedan, but I would be guessing if I had to give you the make or model.
Paul: So I suppose a license plate's out of the question.
Michael: Nothing. I'm not even sure there was one.
Paul: What about the driver? I know you didn't see the face, but, uh, male, female? Anybody else in the car? Passengers, you know? Anything you can remember?
Michael: No. I wish I could give you more of a break, but, um, there's only one thing I know with any certainty. It's not what I saw or didn't see or what I heard. It's what I didn't hear. There was no screech of brakes or attempt to stop. Whoever hit Adam, they meant to kill him.
Ashley: Look, honey, it wasn't that long ago the two of you were broken up. You were really into your career and you thought Ben was too over-protective. So excuse me if I think this proposal came out of nowhere.
Abby: Not being together made us realize how much we want to be together. Being apart brought us closer.
Ashley: And you're sure about that?
Abby: I love him, mom.
Ashley: You've loved a few other people, too.
Abby: All right. I get it. My track record hasn't been the best when it comes to commitment, and am I ready for such a big step? [Sighs] Fair question.
Ashley: Hey, look, if you have to ask the question, then you're absolutely not ready.
Abby: It was totally rhetorical. You're supposed to say, "of course you are ready. You and stitch are a match made in heaven. You're meant to be together."
Ashley: Just hold on a second. A committed relationship takes time and energy, and isn't that one of the problems the two of you have always had? Not enough time to really get to know each other?
Abby: I had never thought about marriage until I thought Ben was gonna propose, and it made me realize how much I want to be Ben's wife.
[Cell phone rings]
Ashley: Seems kind of like a big step to me. Hey, jack. What's up? You're kidding me. Abby's here. Yeah, I'll tell her. Just keep me posted.
Abby: What was that?
Ashley: Oh, my God. Adam -- he stepped out of the courthouse, and he was hit by a car.
Abby: What?
Ashley: Yeah, he's at memorial, and all the Newmans are there. You should go.
Abby: Okay, yeah. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Ashley: Okay, honey.
Billy: Look, I get that I'm at the top of your list for this, but you're looking at the wrong person.
Victor: You put my son in that room, didn't you, huh? Didn't you? You here now to see what damage you've done, to gloat?
Billy: I came here to support Chelsea.
Victor: You wanted this!
Nikki: Victor, come on. Leave him alone.
Jack: You heard Billy on the witness stand.
Victor: That was a phony speech.
Victoria: He's telling the truth, dad.
Victor: You gave that phony speech, put the courtroom in tears, then you hightailed out of there, got in your car, and took revenge on my son!
Chelsea: Everything you said at the trial, is Victor right? Were they lies?
Billy: Chelsea, I meant every word of it. There has been enough pain and anger and guilt, okay? And I have it on -- I have it on good authority that Delia wouldn't have wanted that. And you and Connor helped me see it, too. I just wanted justice for Delia's death. I didn't want revenge. I didn't want this.
Victor: Paul, I'm glad you're here. Would you kindly ask that officer to step aside so Chelsea can see her husband?
Paul: Believe it or not, Victor, there is a protocol to all of this. I'm here to get statements about what happened to Adam.
Victor: Well, then kindly start with Billy boy, all right? You might as well arrest him while you're at it.
Paul: Six of one. Billy, what can you tell me?
Billy: That I left. I wasn't even there when the judge pronounced sentencing.
Paul: Okay, so where were you?
Jack: Hold on. Leave my brother out of this.
Paul: [Sighs]
Paul: Adam was driving the car that hit Billy's daughter. Is it a coincidence that the same thing happened to Adam?
Jack: But you were in the courtroom. Billy did what no Abbott, no Newman has been able to do for decades. He put the past where it belongs -- in the past. I couldn't be any prouder of my brother. And there's no way in hell he was driving the car.
Victor: Paul, this is ridiculous. It's an Abbott defending an Abbott. Arrest the SOB.
Victoria: Okay, hold on a second. Billy couldn't have done it. He was in the park with me.
Paul: Oh. You know, Victoria, it wasn't that long ago when you looked me in the eye just as you're doing now and lied to cover for your father. So it's not out of the realm of possibilities that you might fabricate another alibi, now, is it?
Victoria: Whatever I think of Adam, he's my brother. He has a wife and a child. I want whoever did this to be found and held accountable.
Paul: I'd like to check out your car, Billy.
Jack: Oh, come on, Paul, this is ridiculous.
Billy: No, you know what? It's fine. I got nothing to hide.
Phyllis: Is this your idea of cracker jack police work, Paul? Why are you harassing Billy when the real hit-and-run driver is still out there?
Paul: You know, Phyllis, I understand that everyone's nerves are stretched to the limit. But it's my responsibility to check out every possibility in this case. And this is the first logical place to start.
Jack: You know what? You're right. Police have their job. The doctors have theirs. We're -- we're in the way. Um, if you need us, we will be at the club.
Paul: I will need those statements.
Jack: You will get them.
Chelsea: Billy. Thank you for coming and for what you said in court.
Billy: I never thought these words would be coming out of my mouth, but... I hope Adam pulls through. For your sake and for Connor's.
Nikki: Well, there's no telling how long this is going to take. Why don't you go back and see your beautiful baby boy, give him a kiss for me?
Nick: Yeah, we can tell him how awesome his grandma is.
Nikki: There you go.
Paul: Hey, Nik, can I talk to you for a moment about what you say outside the courthouse?
Nikki: Oh, yeah, sure.
Paul: Excuse me.
Nikki: I'll see you later.
Sage: Poor Chelsea. I tried to comfort her, but all I did was make it worse.
Nick: You were just trying to help. It's not gonna be easy for her to get through this.
Abby: Hi. My mom told me about Adam. How is he?
Chelsea: I wish I knew. Ben's in there, and no one will let me go in and see him, and nobody will tell me what's going on. And this officer here is guarding the door like Adam's some criminal. Can you tell me why this is taking so long? Can you -- can you find somebody to tell me?
Abby: Adam is in good hands. Ben is the best.
Nikki: One minute, Adam was being led to the van, and the next minute...chaos.
Paul: Well, I understand how that happens. Anyway, thanks for your time, Nikki.
Nikki: Wait. Wait. I have to tell you. When Adam was hit, I saw the look on Christine's face. It was that horrible night all over again. I was behind the wheel, and she had nowhere to go. I will never forgive myself.
Paul: I think we all learned something about forgiveness today.
Nikki: Is Christine all right?
Paul: Oh, she's amazing. She is, um, she's like a marvel of strength and resiliency. She really is. I was gonna take her home to get some rest after the trial, and she would have none of it. She wanted to help me find whoever did this.
Nikki: I envy her strength. I hope the police find the driver soon, 'cause if they leave it up to Victor... wait a minute. Where is Victor? Oh, my God. If he's decided to take things into his own hands...
Victor: You have been here all day. You must be hungry. Why don't you go have some dinner?
I probably shouldn't leave him.
Victor: Well, now, his mother's gonna be at the hospital for quite some time, you know.
I'm so sorry about Mr. Bingham. I mean Mr. Newman.
Victor: Yeah, well, you can call Chelsea anytime you want to, all right, but she's gonna be at the hospital for a while. So, I suggest that you have something to eat, all right? I'll play with him, okay? Look what we have here. Look at this soccer ball. Oh, my God. See? One day you know what we'll do? I'm gonna teach you how to kick that ball from 20 yards out, and it's gonna go all the way in the upper corner of a goal. Yeah. You know that I taught your father how to play? I wish I taught him more. But, you know, a funny thing happens. Time just goes by, and before you know it, it's too late. But, you know, your daddy loves you very much. You know, some fathers never get a chance to tell their sons that. But he said it today. He said that you're his life. You're the most important thing in his life.
[Chuckles] Yep.
Ashley: Hey. How's Adam?
Jack: It's remarkable. Given the speed of the car and the impact, he should have been dead on arrival, but it's Adam Newman. He has cheated death before.
Phyllis: Well, if he's got eight lives to go, I hope he makes better use of them.
Ashley: Has anybody thought karma here? I mean, this is just crazy. It's cosmic justice, right? He was hit by a car.
Billy: This isn't justice. It's attempted murder. And as hard as it is for me to say it, what Adam did was an accident, and he shouldn't -- he shouldn't have to pay for this with his life.
Ashley: Yeah, I heard you say something like that in the courtroom, and frankly, I'm still trying to get used to it.
Jack: You know what? If Billy can find a way to forgive Adam, maybe we all can.
Phyllis: Yeah, well, that's easier for some than it is for others.
Billy: You know, all this forgiveness didn't just come overnight.
Victoria: And I've never been more proud of you.
Billy: The upside to leaving the past in the past is that I've rediscovered somebody that I've always been proud of.
Phyllis: Who's that?
Billy: My brother.
Michael: Well, if there's nothing more I can do here, I'm gonna go check in on Adam.
Christine: Yeah, yeah, thanks for your help.
Michael: Take care of yourself.
Christine: Hey, Michael. You were the right attorney for Adam. I-I wanted a longer sentence, but... the ruling was fair.
Michael: A lot fairer than the hand Adam's been dealt now.
[Telephone rings]
Christine: Chief Williams' office. What? Are you sure? Where? No, I'll tell him as soon as I see him. Thank you.
Michael: Something about Adam?
Christine: Detectives canvassed the area around the courthouse, and a bystander ID'd the car that hit Adam.
Michael: And?
Christine: And the lead pans out. A car matching the description was found at the south lake motel.
Chelsea: How is he?
Stitch: No broken bones, but there's significant internal bleeding.
Paul: So what are we looking at?
Stitch: He needs emergency surgery. Even then, it'll be touch and go.
Chelsea: I have to see him, Paul. Please. I'm his wife. Please let me see him.
Abby: It's not like she's gonna bust him out of there.
Paul: Okay. You can see him.
Stitch: Chelsea, two minutes. It's all I can give you, all right?
Chelsea: Okay. Okay. I'm here. Adam. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere. [Sighs] So don't you dare leave me.
Sage: You were right. We are lucky. We have a beautiful baby boy and so much to look forward to. Adam's clinging to life.
Nick: No matter what Adam's done -- and he has done a lot -- we wouldn't have Christian if it wasn't for him.
Sage: I'm just praying that they both go home soon.
Nick: You really think he's gonna have my sense of humor?
Sage: [Chuckles]
[Alarm blares]
Nick: What was that?
Sage: It's Christian. Oh, my God. It's Christian!
Billy: Thank you for having my back today.
Jack: Hey, I wasn't about to let my little brother get railroaded by Victor or Paul or anybody else for something he didn't do.
Billy: Because you believe in me, which is more than I can say I've been doing for you lately.
Jack: I should have handled Adam's identity a whole lot differently, and I'm sorry.
Billy: You know what? It's in the past. And we're family. We got a lot to be grateful for.
Ashley: I'm starting to feel real warm and fuzzy over here.
Phyllis: Well, don't get too used to that. That'll change.
Victoria: Not with paragon still breathing down our necks.
Ashley: Yeah, and, uh, I can't forgive Adam for what he's done to me and our family. I'm sorry.
Billy: Believe me. I get it. But if Adam doesn't pull through, then Chelsea and Connor suffer. And I think that that family has suffered enough.
Jack: You know what? I have every confidence that Adam will pull through. Ben Rayburn is one of Genoa city's finest doctors. He knows what he's doing.
Stitch: The patient is bleeding internally. There's some compression of organs, but it's imperative that we stop the bleeding.
[Cell phone rings]
Paul: Yeah, sweetheart. What's up? Oh, really? That could be significant. I'll get a squad out there A.S.A.P.
Nikki: Good news?
Paul: Yeah. Might be. We're one step closer to finding out who wants Adam dead.
Nikki: Thank God.
Paul: Excuse me.
Stitch: Pressure is low. Keep an eye on the anesthesia.
Abby: You're amazing.
Stitch: What? That? I was just doing my job.
Abby: No, you're here saving lives, and I'M...
Stitch: Hey, your work is important, too. Look, um, about earlier, the champagne, the special dinner...
Abby: No. It can wait. All that matters right now is Adam.
Chelsea: We have our dream, remember? To be a normal family. You, me, and Connor. You -- you promised me. You said you would do whatever it takes to make that happen, so I'm gonna need you to keep your promise. [Voice breaking] We have a life to live, a happy, full, amazing life, and I don't care if it's Genoa city or if it's in Paris or if it's on the moon. I just need you to -- I just need you to come back to me, okay? [Sniffles] I just need you to come back to me and come back to Connor so we can -- so we can have our dream.
Stitch: Let's get him to the OR.
Chelsea: Can I just have one more minute, please?
Stitch: Chelsea, Adam does not have a lot of time.
Chelsea: Okay, just -- just take care of him, okay?
Stitch: We will.
Victor: You know what I want to do? I'm gonna speak to the big father in heaven, you know. Now, I don't -- I'm not asking for a favor. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm asking for a blessing for this little boy. Not for me, not for my son, but for my grandson. For you. I want the lord to save your daddy. I want him to save your daddy so that he can be here for you, because you need him, you know? I lost my father --
Connor: Airplane.
Victor: That's right. Because... well, I'm praying -- I'm praying to the good lord, and I want him to protect you by bringing back your daddy, okay? Make sure that he doesn't go to prison for a long time. He comes back to be with you.
Nick: What's happening?
Sage: What's wrong with my baby?
I need you to stand back. He stopped breathing.
Nick: Come on, come on.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Ashley: You know what? I'm sorry. It wasn't that long ago you told me you couldn't get me off your mind. That's a little disturbing.
Jack: Go ahead. Get it out.
Victor: I want to thank you.
Paul: Damn it.
Kevin: [Gasps] Mariah! Oh, my God.
