Episode # 10774 ~ Adam asks for forgiveness; Jill takes the gloves off with Jack; Devon takes the law into his own hands.
Provided By Suzanne
Billy: No one wants to hear a damn word you have to say.
Jill: You leave. You have no place here.
Billy: What, are your -- your words gonna bring Delia back?
Adam: Of course not.
Billy: So, if you're so determined to do the right thing for once in your sorry life, why don't you walk the hell away and let us honor my daughter's memory in peace?
Victor: For once, you're right, Billy boy. But since you were released into my custody --
Jack: Maybe Adam should be allowed to speak.
Phyllis: Jack --
Kevin: No, no, he needs to keep his mouth shut. You've got no rights here.
Jack: That may be, but the little girl who we're all here to honor would have looked beyond that. Delia would have looked into Adam's heart and seen the best in him, not the worst.
Victoria: Billy...please.
Adam: Jack, you're a better friend than I ever deserved to have. Like a lot of you here, I know what it's like to get a second chance at life... something that, unfortunately, Delia...will never have. Billy, you're right. All the pain, all the suffering, a beautiful life cut short -- no words that I'm gonna say can bring justice to that, can make that right. I can't bring her back. But I feel like if I would have spoken up sooner, I could have saved you a little bit of that pain, a little bit of that -- that suffering, and I should have done that. Billy, I should have, and I didn't. And I'm sorry. Your daughter -- Delia -- is gone, and I'm to blame. And I got to wear that. And I will. But I want you to know there's not a day, not a -- there's not a moment that goes by that I don't wish I could go back to that night and that moment and bring her back. And I would if I could, Billy, and I would gladly give my life in exchange for your sweet daughter's.
[Hands clapping slowly]
Chloe: [Chuckles] Wow. Oscar-worthy performance. Adam, congratulations. Wow, it looks like you've even fooled some people here. You know, you may have a different face, but I know, deep down inside, you are still the same insincere bastard you've always been.
[Hands clapping slowly]
Adam: [Breathes deeply]
Paul: Look, if you're blaming yourself for the trackers not working on the stolen meds, you know, it could have been a technical glitch. It's not your fault.
Dylan: Yeah, could have been.
Paul: The kidnapper could have found the trackers and destroyed them before they led us to Hilary. You don't know.
Dylan: Or something else could have gone wrong.
Paul: Welcome to the imperfect world of police science. [Sighs] Why do I get the feeling there's something going on that you haven't told me about?
Devon: Dylan, did you tell Paul what happened yet?
Paul: Tell me what?
Dylan: Nothing. No, Devon...
Devon: No, no, I'm not gonna keep quiet. I've been doing that long enough. My wife's life is at stake.
Cane: You know, this was supposed to be easy. Dylan was meant to make the drop. Then the kidnapper was meant to call and give us Hilary's location.
Lily: Well, that could still happen.
Cane: No, too much time has passed. You know, this is Dylan's fault, when he decided to go and be a cowboy and let the guy get away with the ransom.
Lily: Okay, Dylan feels worse than anyone about what happened.
Cane: [Scoffs]
Lily: And the kidnapper could still call. He has his money. Why would he hold on to Hilary?
Cane: Yeah, well, you're assuming he still has her. Maybe he just wanted to get the cash, then all of a sudden she's expendable.
Rick: Sorry to interrupt.
Lily: What is it, Rick?
Rick: I found this on the valet stand outside.
Cane: Thank you.
Lily: That's the same envelope that had the ransom note in it.
Cane: Yeah. You have to give the kidnapper props. He knows we don't have surveillance over the valet area.
Lily: Okay, I'm calling Devon.
Cane: No, just -- just wait a second. I just want to make sure this is the message we've been waiting for.
Neil: Hey, help me wipe everything.
Gwen: Why are you rushing around?
Neil: Because there can be no fingerprints left here, nothing that can be used as evidence. You hear me?
Gwen: Is this because I thought I heard something outside last night? I mean, that could have been kids or a stray animal.
Neil: Yeah, or whoever's posing as the kidnapper. You ever think about that?
Gwen: How would they even know that we have Hilary here? I mean, it's probably like you said. It's all a ruse.
Neil: Okay. Watch out.
Gwen: We're safe here, okay? By now, the fake kidnapper's probably retired to a tropical island, happily spending Devon's ransom money.
Neil: Really? Or maybe the kidnapper knows exactly where this woman is and they're gonna celebrate their payday by notifying the police. If the police and Devon --
Gwen: It's not gonna happen. It's okay.
Neil: What are you doing? What did I just tell you? Your hand. The fingerprints. Wipe it off. Here. Oh, God.
Gwen: Why? You own the boathouse, Neil. Why clean off the fingerprints when Devon's bound to realize that -- you're not trying to protect yourself. You're trying to protect me, making sure every trace of me is gone.
Neil: That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm erasing everything that ties you to this place and what happened here.
Gwen: But I'm part of it.
Neil: No, you're not. No. Not anymore. You got to go. You cannot be an accessory to this.
Gwen: I'm not leaving you. I knew the consequences getting into this. And I wasn't gonna let you go through it alone then, and I'm not going to now.
Neil: Yeah, that's great. And I love you for that. And I'll never forget what you've done for me, helping me and helping to keep this person alive.
Gwen: Then let me stay.
Neil: I'm done. I'm through. This has got to end right now. You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna wait here with Hilary until Devon and the police show up.
Gwen: Neil --
Neil: And if anyone ever questions you, don't you dare acknowledge that you knew what happened here.
Gwen: I can't just leave you alone.
Neil: And I can't face Devon and the law showing up here -- listen, I'm doing this for -- I want you to be free.
Gwen: But what about you?
Neil: I started this alone, and I'm gonna finish it alone.
Gwen: I don't want to go. I'm not going to.
Neil: I have to somehow make some good come out of this. Hilary's gonna wake up at some point eventually when she gets the proper medical attention. And when she does, this whole story is gonna come out. What do you think's gonna happen to me. Huh? I'm gonna be prosecuted. I can't help save myself, but, damn it, I can help save you.
Gwen: But I don't want to lose you.
Neil: What did I tell you at the start of all this? That we were gonna find ourselves here someday, and now we have. And the sooner you go, the better off we both are.
Gwen: But I don't want to go.
Paul: So, this isn't about the trackers on the stolen meds. There's something else. You two are holding out on me.
Devon: There is something.
Dylan: Yes, there is. Devon is worried that time is running out for Hilary. I mean, can you blame him? Everything we've done has blown up in our faces, but it's only gonna make it worse for Hilary right now if we panic or we say or do something that we're gonna regret later.
Devon: And what about everything that we don't do or say, Dylan? What if I live to regret that?
Paul: You know what? This has to stop right now. Whatever it is you're keeping from me, it want to know what it is right now.
Devon: Cane, this isn't a good time.
Cane: We just got another message from the kidnapper.
Devon: All right. I'll be right there. I got to. Sorry.
Dylan: I'm gonna go.
Paul: You're not going anywhere.
Esther: Chloe --
Chloe: Mom, not now. I know what I'm doing.
Kevin: Chloe, are you sure about that?
Chloe: Absolutely. I mean, why are you all so surprised to see me? Today, of all days? I'm here for the same reasons you all are -- to commemorate the anniversary of my daughter's death. Two years ago today, Adam ran her over and left her on the side of the road.
Victor: Kevin, why don't you take Chloe somewhere quiet?
Chloe: I don't need to be taken anywhere...not yet. I mean, I've come all this way. I'm not gonna miss the most important moment.
Billy: Chloe, what are you talking about?
Chloe: Oh, the moment, Billy... the moment that is bigger and better than all of the tender sentiments and the mea culpas... the moment when justice is finally served. And I'm here to deliver it.
[All gasp]
Chelsea: Chloe!
Paul: Why do I get the feeling things have already taken a turn for the worse?
Dylan: I got to go.
Paul: You didn't even have to hear Devon's phone call to know what was going on. If this has anything to do with Hilary's whereabouts, I want to know now.
Dylan: I need you to trust me on this.
Paul: What about trusting me?!
Dylan: I do trust you! I promise you this -- if and when I find out more, you'll be the first to know.
[Sighs]
Neil: You're gonna have to hurry up and get out of here before the cops show up.
Gwen: I'm not going.
Neil: The police are gonna find this place. What's so hard to understand about -- with or without anybody's help.
[Sighs]
Gwen: You tried to send me away once before, and see how well that worked? Still here.
Neil: That's because I needed you. I needed you to help me. I don't need you anymore. Other people are gonna take care of Hilary now.
Gwen: And who's gonna take care of you, Neil? It's what I want, okay, is to be with you, whatever comes.
Neil: And when Devon and the police show up, then what?
Gwen: When they're close, we can make a run for it together.
Neil: Make a -- [Chuckles] This isn't a movie. I want you gone, okay? I don't know how to make it any more clear to you. I don't want you hanging on to me or taking care of me anymore. Do I have to call the police myself just to get rid of you? I'm gonna ask you nicely. Go. Go!
[Sighs]
Esther: Chloe, no!
Kevin: You do not want to do this.
Chloe: You want to bet?
Billy: Chloe, is this gonna make up for the loss of our little girl? Because believe me, if I thought it would, I would pull that trigger for you. But it won't. I learned that the hard way.
Esther: Please, baby, I've already lost a granddaughter. I don't want to lose you.
Chloe: Everybody, stay back! You know, I have been imagining this moment ever since I heard that you somehow escaped the death that you so richly deserved. I thought about what it would look like when I got to see you scared for your own life, the same kind of fear that my daughter felt.
Adam: I think you should do it. I'm not gonna stop you.
Chelsea: I will. No. Chloe, no.
Chloe: Chelsea, get out of the way. I mean it, Chelsea.
Adam: Please get out of the way.
Chloe: You stand back.
Chelsea: Chloe, look at me, okay? Look at me. It's me. Remember? Your best friend? Okay, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna shoot me? What, are you gonna shoot Connor's mom and Connor's dad?
Chloe: If you're gonna stand there and plead for this killer's life, then --
Chelsea: I'm not. I'm pleading for Delia's life because today is about her and her life and everything she gave us and everything she taught us. I know you don't think Adam deserves to live.
Chloe: After what he did?
Chelsea: What would Delia want? You knew her better than anybody. What would she want? She would want to Adam to live.
Chloe: No.
Chelsea: Yes. Yes, she would because you taught her to be kind and caring and sweet and compassionate and forgiving. She would want him to live.
Chloe: Well, I don't want him to live.
Chelsea: She doesn't want you to be hurting anymore. She doesn't want you to have all of this hatred inside of you anymore. Delia doesn't want that.
Chloe: [Voice breaking] He took her from me.
Chelsea: He didn't take away who she was, and that's what you're doing right now. My God, Chloe, you're standing holding a gun and making a mockery of Delia's beautiful life. What would she say if she was standing here right now, if she was standing here looking up at you, holding your hand, smiling at you? What would she say?
Chloe: [Crying] She'd -- she'd say -- [Gasps] Sh-- she --
Chelsea: She would say, "let him live." And then you -- you get to live, and then -- and then Delia gets to live through all of us.
Chloe: [Breathing heavily]
[Sobs]
Chelsea: It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.
[Both breathing heavily]
Dylan: Hey, is that from the kidnapper, instructions on where to find Hilary?
Lily: If only it were that simple.
Devon: It's the same as the last one.
Cane: Nothing's written there but a phone number.
Dylan: Here, let me take a look.
Devon: After you tried to tackle the guy when he came to pick up the ransom?
Dylan: Come on. I told you I made a mistake.
Cane: Guys, this isn't helping, all right?
Devon: You're right. I'm taking this out of your hands.
Dylan: Devon, please.
Devon: This is my call.
Dylan: [Sighs]
Devon: [Sighing] It's nothing. It's a damn joke.
Too late. Guess you really don't love your wife.
Devon: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, please don't hang up.
Devon: I do love my wife, more than anything, okay? You must know this already 'cause otherwise, you wouldn't have given me your phone number, right? You have my money. You could -- you could walk away a very rich man, but you didn't do that because when you make a bargain, you keep it.
That's more like it.
Devon: Please tell me where can I find my wife.
Lily: Where is she?
>&Chloe: [Crying]
Jill: Okay. Listen, if Delia were here, she would want to go have ice cream and cake, right? So let's do that, everybody.
Billy: And if you feel the need for something stronger, you're welcome to join me. Hey. Look, um, thank you guys for hunting down this tree. It's really -- it's really perfect.
Summer: Yeah.
Jack: Maybe you ought to give me that gun. The last time you had a gun in the park, things didn't go so well.
Victor: I'm gonna make sure the police gets this, make sure they know that an emotionally unstable woman handled this.
Jill: Don't you attack poor Chloe. She's not the criminal here. Your son caused all this pain.
Kevin: Victor, I'll take that. I'm headed to the police station. I'll turn it in.
Victor: Thank you, Kevin.
Kevin: Do you have a place to stay?
Chloe: Yeah.
Esther: Oh, baby. Oh, let's get you out of here. Oh, I'll take such good care of you.
Kevin: Uh, actually, Chloe and I were just leaving.
Esther: But I...
Chloe: Mom, I just -- I can't. I can't. Not right now, I can't.
Esther: Is she getting sick again?
Kevin: She's gonna be fine. I'll make sure she checks in with you.
Lauren: Esther? Esther, you know how much Delia loved the ice cream at crimson lights? Let's go have some in her honor, okay?
Esther: Okay.
Lauren: You're gonna be okay.
Abby: I'm sorry. I-I would have stopped Adam from taking Connor, but he's his father.
Chelsea: No. It's okay, Abby. Thank you.
Abby: Wow. She was so brave. I mean, staring that gun down like that?
Stitch: Yeah, think Billy had the right idea about something stronger than ice cream.
Abby: Yeah.
Stitch: Let's go.
Phyllis: Hi. Hey.
Summer: Hey. What was that for?
Phyllis: Your savvy, self-reliant mother needed a hug. That's all. It happens.
Summer: Anytime.
Phyllis: [Sighs]
Jack: Hey.
Victor: [Sighs] I'm sure you agree that woman should not be left alone on the streets.
Victoria: You mean that grieving woman that dropped the gun? I think you should just let it go, dad.
Victor: Sweetheart, I hope you don't regret your request, okay?
Victoria: [Smooches]
Victor: Okay. Chelsea... I will see to it that you and my grandson are brought home safely.
Chelsea: That's okay, Victor. I think we'll stay here and blow off some steam. But thank you.
Victor: Okay.
Victoria: [Chuckles] Here you go, buddy.
[Chuckles] Hey, huh? What do we got?
Victor: Don't blow it. You're out of the joint, free to roam, on my dime, and don't you forget it.
Victoria: This one?
Adam: That was quite a gesture. Scared the hell out of me. Is that your way of saying that you forgive me? We can start over?
Chelsea: What I did was for Chloe's sake, not yours.
Adam: Well, you wouldn't have taken that risk if my life didn't matter to you.
Chelsea: Of course your life matters to me, but --
Adam: What about all that stuff you said about leaving the hatred behind? What about that?
Chelsea: For Delia. I mean, I said that for Delia. Seeing Chloe reminded me of how she raised Delia to be loving and kind. So I don't want to spend my life hating you, and I'll teach Connor to do the same.
Adam: Chelsea, then there's no reason why you and I can't start over.
Chelsea: I can't forgive you, Adam, and I can't forget the things that you've done. But [Sighs] The truth of the matter is we can't make a fresh start. Chloe can.
Adam: You think I would try to prevent that from happening?
Chelsea: She doesn't deserve to go to jail.
Adam: But I do.
Chelsea: If there's any justice in the world, you will.
Kevin: Why don't you try and get some sleep?
Chloe: 'Cause I'm too wired.
Kevin: You want some food?
Chloe: No. The only thing I want is Adam punished.
Kevin: Well, I'm glad Chelsea stopped you.
Chloe: You know, part of me wishes that I had just pulled that trigger. It's true. It's true. I'm sorry. I just -- I just wanted to see him, see what he looked like when that bullet hit him.
Kevin: You cannot think like that, Chloe. I want the same thing for Adam, but you can't think that way. They'll put you away forever. I miss her every day.
Chloe: I know how much you loved her.
Kevin: Not just on her birthday or Christmas or days like today, but...
[Sighs] I'll hear a kid laughing. I'll see a balloon floating or a puppy playing in the park.
Chloe: [Sighs] Look, I need to tell you this. I wanted to do to Adam what he did to my daughter. And I might have walked away had he not made that lame apology. It is just so unfair that Delia is gone and Adam is just still walking around.
Kevin: Well, what if Chelsea hadn't stopped you?
Chloe: [Sighs] If shot him... it would have cost me. But Adam is not worth me losing the most precious thing in my life.
Kevin: And what's that?
Victoria: Did today bring it all back?
Billy: What, the rage? No. That's been boiling over ever since I found out that Gabe Bingham was actually Adam Newman, he's been scamming our family this whole time. I -- [Sighs] I wanted to kill the guy with my bare hands.
Victoria: I know. But you didn't.
Billy: No. Because you were there... reminding me that I have so much more to live for, like those two beautiful kids upstairs. And, um, thank you for that.
Victoria: I don't want your gratitude. But I will take a kiss.
Billy: [Chuckles]
Victoria: You're still upset.
Billy: Yeah, I'm just concerned about Chloe.
Victoria: I know. After all that time she spent in the hospital, I thought that she would be better and that maybe she'd have a good life somewhere.
Billy: Even Kevin doesn't know where she's living. I mean, she cut ties with everybody.
Victoria: She was just trying to distance herself from everything.
Billy: But now she doesn't have anyone to keep her grounded. There's nobody to keep her from doing anything reckless like she did today or what she wanted to do with me when...
Victoria: What did she want to do with you?
Billy: [Sighs]
Victoria: Remember, there's no more secrets between us.
Billy: Well, it wasn't a secret. It's just that you and I were split up at the time, so --
Victoria: Well, but we're back together now, so you can tell me.
Billy: Before she left town, she tried to convince me that we should have another baby together.
Esther: I am just worried sick about Chloe! If Chelsea hadn't stopped her, she might have shot Adam.
Jill: [Scoffs] Not that he doesn't deserve it.
Esther: But if she'd gone through with it, she would have ended up in jail.
Lauren: And Michael would have defended her and gotten her off.
Esther: Mm.
Jill: Look, there is not a jury on this planet that would have convicted Chloe after what Adam did to her and put her through. And Billy -- put Billy through, put me through, put Delia's whole family through. Do you know my son has scars that will never go away?
[Chuckles] And Michael is defending that scum.
Lauren: Ugh. I know. I know. But for better or worse, he believes that everyone is entitled to a vigorous defense.
Jill: Oh, bull.
Lauren: You know, what I would like to know is, how on earth did Adam parade as that Gabriel Bingham for so long?
Jill: There's your answer right there. Hey, you. You knew Gabriel's true identity this whole time, didn't you? Answer me a question. How dare you protect Victor's son over your own brother?
Cane: I should have gone with Devon, and I should have gone with Dylan.
Paul: Gone where?
Cane: [Sighs]
Lily: Um... Devon's just been a wreck since we lost the trail of the stolen meds.
Cane: So Dylan wanted to take him out so he could let some steam off.
Paul: So, where are they?
Lily: Uh, the gym.
Cane: Bowling.
Paul: Ah. They're not in the gym, and I'm not buying the bowling story, either. Now, where are they? Look, I know something's going on, something that no one wants the GCPD to know about.
Cane: Paul.
Paul: I warned Dylan, and now I'm gonna warn you two.
Cane: Paul.
Paul: Hilary's life depends on us working together. Think about that.
[Both sigh]
Lily: God, please just let this be over today.
Cane: Maybe it will be.
Lily: Devon and Dylan cannot reach another dead end. They have to find Hilary.
Abby: So, tell me, Mr. Brilliant chemist doctor boy, does blue agave have a medicinal benefit?
Stitch: Absolutely.
Abby: [Chuckles] Then why isn't it making me feel any better? Just thinking about holding Chelsea's precious little boy and not knowing if Chloe was gonna pull the trigger... I'm sorry. [Chuckles] Some date this turned out to be, right?
Stitch: You know, then
[Sighs] We'll have to improve it.
Victoria: Chloe wanted you to give her a baby?
Billy: Uh, maybe I should have kept that secret.
Victoria: No, I'm -- I'm really glad you told me. It's just, how much convincing did she do?
Billy: [Sighs] Not enough. Look, she was -- she was desperate, and she was hurting just like I was. But I knew that I couldn't replace Delia, and I told her that much. Besides that, I... I think there was a part of me that knew I was gonna find my way back to you. And unlike Chloe, we've got two amazing kids.
Victoria: You feel guilty.
Billy: I just feel like she's lost.
Victoria: [Sighs] You did the right thing turning her down.
Billy: [Chuckles] No doubt. But maybe if she had a kid of her own that she could love that would love her back, then maybe she wouldn't have shown up out of nowhere waving a gun around.
Kevin: Tell me what you meant. What's the most important thing in your life?
Chloe: [Exhales sharply] Isn't it obvious? My freedom. You know, when I left town, I was determined to make a clean break and sever all ties. And, you know, I did it.
Kevin: Until you found out Adam was still alive.
Chloe: Well, so much for good intentions. Don't worry. I'm not gonna try it again.
Kevin: I'm glad to hear that. So, tell me about this new life of yours.
Chloe: You know what? I -- I want to talk about you. Have you met someone?
Kevin: [Sighs] I'm still married to my computer.
Chloe: What's her name?
Kevin: It's complicated.
Chloe: Who is she?
Kevin: Mariah.
[Sighs] She was in trouble when we met. We became friends. We tried to be more than friends. Now we're back to being friends again. What?
Chloe: I mean, why can't you just ever do love the easy way?
Kevin: And miss all the excitement?
Chloe: With you, there's always this small, little degree of difficulty.
Kevin: Yeah, kind of like the Olympics.
[Chuckles] That's something we always had in common.
Chloe: You know what? Um, I'm gonna take your advice, and I think I'm gonna get some rest.
Kevin: Why are you trying to get rid of me all of a sudden?
Chloe: Because I'm tired. You know what? Will you do me a favor? Will you just, um, get rid of the gun, just in case I try to use it again?
Kevin: Yeah, I'll drop it off at the police station.
Chloe: Hey, Kevin. Thanks. [Smooches]
[Sighs]
Kevin: [Sighs]
Adam: Probably already booked your one-way ticket to Paris, huh?
Chelsea: Nice try, but I'm not telling you where Connor and I are moving. Nobody knows. So...this is goodbye, Adam.
Adam: I was thinking about how ironic this is, that -- that this goodbye because this is where also where I saw you two again for the first time. Remember that? I fell in love with you all over again.
Chelsea: I have to go.
Adam: Chelsea... you know, um... I grew up without a father. And it wasn't good. It messed me up pretty bad. And my mother was terrific. Like you are to Connor, she was wonderful. But, you know, I always sort of held on to this hole in my heart, knowing that my father was out there somewhere and he chose not to love me. I don't want that for him. Will you remind him of that, that if it were up to me, if I had it my way, I would be in your life, I would be in his life, I would raise him every single day, I would teach him everything I know? And just because I'm not there doesn't mean that I don't love him and it doesn't mean that I'm not thinking of you and that I don't love you every single day, okay? Will you please tell him that, make sure he remembers it?
Chelsea: [Sighs]
Victor: Do you think maybe a thank-you is in order?
Adam: You want me to thank you for what?
Victor: For the heartwarming moment you just had with your family. Who do you think made that possible?
Adam: Mm.
Victor: I twisted a certain judge's arm and wrote a big check. Now it's time for you to fulfill your promise.
Adam: I see. Yeah, no, because God forbid I relax for just a moment. You know, I almost died today. Were you here? Did you see that?
Victor: You didn't, did you? So forget about it.
Adam: Forget about it 'cause you said so.
Victor: You bet.
Adam: There it is.
Victor: That's right. You fix the paragon problem, Adam... or else... you'll be put back in jail. I can see to it. Remember that.
Adam: Thank you.
Jack: I will chalk this up to you being out of the loop while away in Hong Kong, but let me set you straight -- I tried to do what was best for Billy.
Jill: By letting the man who murdered my granddaughter walk around scot-free with a brand-new identity, huh?
Lauren: Why don't we just let this all play out in court, okay?
Phyllis: That works.
Jack: What do you think would have happened if Billy knew that Adam was alive?
Jill: Adam would be in jail.
Jack: So would Billy. He damn near killed Adam once. If he tried again and succeeded, how would you feel then?
Jill: Jack, my son lost his daughter -- your niece. He deserved to know that his brother had his back!
Jack: I have his back. Believe me.
Phyllis: Okay. All right.
Jack: As if Billy doesn't know it.
Lauren: Okay. All come on. Okay.
Jack: I'm tired of standing here trying to defend my actions.
Phyllis: You are meaning well -- I understand that. The more you try to keep the people you love from making mistakes, the more you resemble Victor.
Summer: Hey. How's Chloe?
Kevin: I don't know. She was ready to throw her life away today to punish Adam, and then...
Summer: Then what?
Kevin: She was talking about having something to live for... something or someone.
Kyle: You're not jealous, are you?
Chloe: Hi. Is everything okay? Um, yeah. Listen, um, I need to stick around here. Do you think that you could keep her for a few more days? Great. Thanks.
Billy: Keep who?
[Doorknob creaking]
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Cane: Devon is not gonna find her. He's not gonna -- she's not there.
Lily: How could you know that?
Michael: I need you to testify at Adam's trial. Or, more accurately, Adam needs you.
Chloe: We could team up. We could figure out a way to kill Adam and not get caught.
