Episode # 10735 ~ Victor shares surprising news with his family, while Cane & Lily make a decision about their marriage.
Provided By Suzanne
Victor: Call Paul Williams right now. Tell him all about Marco Annicelli. Tell him about all the dead people on that boat and about Kelly.
Jack: All that blood is on your hands -- every single death you set in motion.
Victor: And who would be extradited and rot in their bloody jail cell?! Not me -- you!
Jack: This has gone on too long. Every day I am lying to the people I care most about.
Victor: Oh, my God. It just breaks my heart to hear that! Why don't you make the call? Call Paul Williams. Call him right now. Tell him. Who is gonna protect your family when Marco Annicelli...
Jack: I shouldn't need to protect them! Look, you created this monster. You pull the plug already. This is not my problem.
Victor: It is our problem, Jack. You and I need to stop that guy.
Jack: No, no, no, no. We are not a team. You are a menace to everything and everyone that I love, and why -- so you could prove to me that you're the boss and steal Jabot?
Victor: I didn't steal Jabot. You and I agreed to share it.
Jack: Oh, careful, Victor. I didn't agree to anything. That was Marco. Surely you can tell the difference between me and someone in your employ.
Victor: You know something? That family business of yours ain't worth the trouble.
Jack: So, all of this was for nothing?!
Victor: It was a business proposition that has gone bad. Happens all the time. Now, Jabot cosmetics can be yours again, part of the Abbott family, if... you agree not to make that call.
Marisa: I have waited too long for that. So have you. I can tell you missed me.
Marco: A woman kisses me -- I react. All it means is I'm not dead.
Marisa: It used to be good with us, Marco. We can have it back if we leave this town now, together. Every plan we ever made -- it's time to make them come true.
Marco: Ooh, you're good, baby -- but not that good. One kiss, you think I'm gonna walk away from all my hard work? No. I put out blood, sweat, and tears to become Jack Abbott.
Marisa: Is it worth dying for? Because they want you dead, Marco. Phyllis -- she thinks you're the devil. She wants you back in hell. I've lost you before. I won't do it again.
Marco: That is so sweet... and so not like you.
Marisa: And you're not the Marco I knew, either. The Marco I knew, he was smart -- smart enough to stay alive. You cannot be Jack Abbott ever again! It's over! Snap out of it! You can stay here and die... or leave Genoa city with me and live.
Ashley: I want to hear it from you. What monster has Victor unleashed?
Phyllis: I've said all I'm gonna say.
Ashley: Oh, for Pete's sake.
Phyllis: Go to Victor. Make him talk.
Nikki: You see, all Phyllis has are evasions and pointless accusations.
Ashley: I'm not sure exactly how pointless it is, really, Nikki, considering your husband did shoot my brother.
Nikki: Well, according to both men, it was self-defense. I trust my husband is telling the truth.
Phyllis: If Victor is so innocent, why are you living upstairs, Nikki? Why don't you just go home and be with your wonderful, honest husband?
Nikki: Excuse me, but my living arrangements are none of your affair. But I will not have you implying that my husband is a danger to anybody.
Ashley: Okay. All right. Everybody just take a deep breath, okay? I'm sure we all have questions about the growing animosity between Victor and Jack. I'm assuming that includes you, Nikki?
Nikki: Yes.
Ashley: Great. So, why don't we go get some answers?
Cane: Whoever dives in and collects the most diving rings gets to choose where we get our ice cream from. Is that a deal? Huh? Hey. Have you got water in your ears already? 'Cause I said the two magic words. I said, "ice" and "cream." What is going on?
Mattie: Are you and mommy getting a divorce?
Lily: You know, yesterday you were my hero. The way you supported Devon -- it was such a huge moment where anything could have happened. But you were loving and kind and wonderful.
Neil: It was my son's wedding day. I'm a dad. I actually didn't have much of a choice except to suck it up.
Lily: No, that is not true. You did have a choice. You could have hung on to the bitterness, but you didn't. And even if you did forgive them, you didn't have to say it in public. But you showed everyone what real forgiveness looks like. The world can be a very dark and ugly place.
Neil: Mm.
Lily: But you showed everyone it doesn't have to stay that way.
Neil: Yeah? What do I always tell you? Speak from your heart. That's what I did. And I truly do hope that Devon and Hilary find the happiness they deserve.
Hilary: That drive from the airport -- how could anyplace be more beautiful?
Devon: Oh, it's just trying to keep up with you, baby.
Where would you like your luggage?
Devon: Anywhere is fine. Thanks.
If you have any questions or need any reservations --
Devon: Got it. Thank you. Appreciate it.
You're welcome, sir, and best wishes to you both.
Hilary: Thank you.
Devon: Thanks.
Devon: How are you even possible? Hmm?
I loved you from the start and I'll love you till the end rich or poor, my heart is yours with a love greater than feeling we'll persevere and we'll endure through the wilderness and the valleys that reign my heart is yours
[Piano solo]
Lily: Hey, I have an idea.
Neil: What?
Lily: Since my boss is out of town, I can play a little hooky. We can go have lunch somewhere else for a change or, I don't know, be completely reckless -- go see a movie, be rebels.
Neil: Wow. What would your boss say?
Lily: Well, he's on his honeymoon, so what he doesn't know won't hurt him.
Neil: Yeah, well, I appreciate the offer, but I'm gonna get out of town for a bit, you know, and that's why I came by -- give you a heads up.
Lily: Oh. Well, um, maybe if you wait a little while, the twins and I can come with you -- one last weekend away before school starts?
Neil: I appreciate that offer, too, but, no, I'm gonna just spend some time on my own, you know? Think for a bit, stare at the scenery. I still have some things to figure out -- exactly where to put my past where Hilary is concerned, where it belongs -- in my rear-view mirror.
Lily: [Chuckles softly] Well, it sounds perfect. You have my blessing.
Neil: Well, thank you. Glad to hear it.
Lily: Yeah. I mean, just have a good time, you know? No pressure, no schedule. Just do whatever feels right.
Neil: Yeah. I think that's gonna be my motto on this adventure -- "whatever feels right."
Cane: Hey, where did you hear that from? Did someone say mommy and daddy were getting divorced?
Charlie: Sammy's dad doesn't live at home.
Mattie: His mommy and daddy got a divorce.
Cane: You know when you guys have a fight or if you go and play and it doesn't work out as you expected? You still love each other, right?
Charlie: Do you still love mommy?
Cane: You and you -- okay? -- And your mom take up the biggest part of my heart, and I don't want you guys to ever have to worry about whether mommy or daddy love you, 'cause all we want is for you to be happy. All I want is for us to be happy. And you have to know that your mommy and your daddy will always be there for you. Okay?
Jack: That's the price you put on my silence -- what was mine all along, Jabot, which you stole from me, with Marco's help? Why should you get to keep what never should have been yours at all?
Victor: That merger with your company proved to be less productive than I thought. It meant nothing to me, nothing to my bottom line.
Jack: I was chained to a bed by a lunatic, almost killed by a drug dealer. My wife slept with a criminal. And instead of justice, instead of seeing your head on a pike right next to Marco's, I get Jabot back?
Victor: Only... if you keep your mouth shut about Marco Annicelli.
Jack: Jabot is mine. I want it.
Victor: You'll get it back... if you do as I say.
Jack: Oh, it's gonna take a lot more than your word about Jabot to keep me from blowing this thing sky-high!
Marco: Things here have not gone as I planned.
Marisa: 'Cause you're a greedy boy, Marco. You always have been. You're alive. You're free. You have me beside you, and you want to risk it all to stay in this place? What is wrong with you?
Marco: I'm freer as Jack Abbott than I am as Marco Annicelli.
Marisa: For how long? Even if you could convince Phyllis and the others, why would you want to? Genoa city isn't a place for people like you and me. They believe in rules and laws, being polite and proper, going to work every day and having coffee, keeping everything under control. When has that ever been you or me?
Marco: You stayed. You could have run. You stayed.
Marisa: A moment of weakness. I wanted to be...respectable. [Chuckles softly] It's too late for that. Better to leave now, before it kills my soul.
Marco: Or maybe you wanted me out of town so you could help your friend Jack Abbott.
Marisa: Jack doesn't need me. You... you do. He doesn't know me. You do. Maybe -- maybe I need you.
Marco: And why should I believe you?
Hilary: It's funny. Marriage makes a difference, but it doesn't. I mean, it doesn't change the love. I loved you before the rings. Somehow it's still...different.
Devon: Well, it's forever.
Hilary: Yeah. It is, isn't it?
Devon: Mm-hmm.
Hilary: [Chuckles]
Devon: And it does make a difference -- saying, "I love you" and putting it out there for God and everyone. I believe in these. And I believe in us.
Hilary: Today and tomorrow? Hmm?
Devon: More than that, baby. We have months and years, decades. We made it to the other side. The universe threw us a world of hurt, and look what we did with it.
Hilary: So, I guess we can just sit on the porch in our rocking chairs and ignore each other.
Devon: No! We can't do that at all. Just 'cause we have decades doesn't mean that we can waste one second of it.
Cane: Um, just so you know, I did put sunscreen on them.
Lily: Oh, yeah. I trust you. Um, my dad's going out of town for a few days, so Moses will be with Sofia, so she might call us for backup.
Cane: Of course. You know, it's a big thing, what your dad did, so, you know, he deserves some times away, you know?
Lily: Yeah. It was big.
Cane: Mm.
Lily: It was huge, actually, and I told him that. My heart was in my throat when he showed up, but then he spoke, and... the forgiveness... it was hard to not be affected by it.
Cane: Yeah. Yeah. It takes a lot of guts to put it out there like he did, you know, 'cause it's easier to nurse a wound instead of trying to heal it. And I think what your dad did -- it showed you there's such a thing as second chances.
Lily: Yesterday you said that... you weren't ready to forgive me. But the way you're talking now... are you ready now?
Cane: You know, the twins asked me if we're getting a divorce.
Lily: What?
Cane: Yeah.
Lily: They ne-- they never even mentioned -- [Sighs] How long have they even been thinking this? I mean... [Sighs] Poor babies.
Cane: You know, I-I -- they shouldn't have to worry about where we stand with them or with each other, and they should just know that we're going to be a family, and so I think that, um... I can get past this. I can. I can forgive you... for the kids.
Lily: It can't just be for the kids, Cane, because we're not just parents. We're husband and wife. So either you have to love me like before... or we're gonna have to figure out the next step.
Marisa: If you don't know me well enough to know when I'm telling you the truth, then you don't deserve to have me at all.
Marco: Ooh, and I'm just supposed to believe you and drive off into the sunset? You drove us into a lake to get away from me.
Marisa: Because you were furious with me. You forget, Marco, I know you. When you lose your temper, you lose your mind.
Marco: And you thought I was going to kill you? That's what you thought?
Marisa: [Sighs] My mistake. You want me to apologize? I'm sorry. When I thought you had drowned, something inside me died.
Marco: I bet.
Marisa: Why do you think I gave the police a false description of you?
Marco: Oh, to buy some time for yourself, maybe?
Marisa: To help you get away, to save your skin, so that maybe you and I could be together, but if you don't want me, fine.
Marco: You seem to be doing just fine with that little Noah boy.
Marisa: [Scoffs]
Marco: Yes. I saw you in the park. Shame -- you went from a man to a boy.
Marisa: He gave me a job, a shoulder to cry on.
Marco: And how did you show your appreciation?
Marisa: How do you think? I've always done what it takes to keep my head above water, and you know that. What are you? Are you jealous? Noah's a spoiled child, like everyone in this town. You think he knows where I came from, how you -- you saved me? Now I want to save you. Don't make me beg, Marco. I don't want to lose you again.
Nikki: Victor, there's something we need to talk about.
Phyllis: What's going on? What just happened? Why'd you just shake hands?
Victoria: Why are we all standing here, gaping?
Ashley: Because the partners/enemies were just shaking hands, which, frankly, makes me as nervous as if they were strangling each other.
Jack: Victor and I just signed a handwritten but legally binding agreement to end the merger between Newman enterprises and Jabot.
Victor: Hence Newman-Abbott no longer exists.
Phyllis: So, that's it?
Nikki: It's over?
Ashley: You scribble it out, you sign it, and it's done?
Victor: Well, a few details have to be worked out, but, on the whole, it's over with.
Victoria: Uh, excuse me. How was this decided, and why wasn't anyone consulted?
Jack: It was time, Victoria.
Victor: Let me just say that the merger didn't work out, all right? It meant nothing to my bottom line.
Ashley: So, a simple shake of the hands, and, once again, massive changes to our families and our business?
Nikki: After all the drama and the misery, it's over like that?
Jack: Yes. Too much of both.
Victor: We assumed you'd all be pleased. Why aren't you?
Victoria: Did you run the numbers on the dissolution?
Phyllis: Sounds like less of a business decision and much more personal.
Ashley: Just like the merger, we're supposed to stand by and just nod our heads -- not worried about any ramifications or fallout. And as per usual, we hear about it after the fact, of course.
Victor: You know, Jack, I suggest you discuss this with Ashley and Phyllis. I should do the same with my wife and my daughter.
Jack: Works for me.
Ashley: How kind of you to take the time to fill us in.
Victor: I will talk to my family about this at lunch.
Victoria: Okay. Sounds good. I'd love to hear the details.
Nikki: Well, we did come here looking for answers, so I suppose we'll get some.
Victor: It's good to see eye to eye on something once. I think it'll work out very well for both of us.
Jack: One can assume this will be the last time we agree for some time.
Ashley: Okay. That was seriously the most insipid performance I think I've ever seen. So, tell me, what really happened?
Jack: Simple story? You can throw away your Newman-Abbott business cards, or -- you know what? -- Keep them. They might make good kindling. Or if you get a wobbly table at crimson lights, you can shove them under the table legs to even things out.
Phyllis: Your humor on this is only making this more annoying.
Ashley: No, I think it's really funny. You actually trust Victor's word that this is just over?
Phyllis: Nobody trusts Victor to do anything but to be himself.
Ashley: Which is just another way of saying that he would never willingly give up his newest toy, so how the hell did you force his hand?
Marisa: Is it that bitch Phyllis? You want to stay and be her husband?!
Marco: Oh, look who's jealous now.
Marisa: She belongs to Jack, and I belong to you, even now, even after you left me.
Marco: After you left me in a lake to die?
Marisa: Enough! Marco, I don't have to convince you to be with me. It's insulting.
Marco: Ooh. Sensitive feelings.
Marisa: You owe me a future with you. I've waited too long already.
Marco: You didn't wait... at all.
Marisa: You missed me, too. I know you did. And you want this. You want me. [Gasps] [Gasps]
Lily: Cane, I love you. And I want you back. But I don't want a fake marriage. I don't want us to be roommates who just take care of Charlie and Mattie together. I want them to grow up knowing what real love looks like, and I want us to be the best examples they could ever have.
Cane: Then this is all I have to give, 'cause it's all I've got right now. I can't magically just go back and change what happened. You slept with another man.
Lily: What about all the times before that I forgave you? Remember the times that you lied to me about your name, your family, your father? I mean, you went as far to let me believe that you were dead, and I checked myself in to a mental institution. But we healed together. We started over.
Cane: I regret every mistake I made, and I'm grateful to you for taking me back. I am.
Lily: Then how is this any different?
Cane: Because when I broke your heart over Andover, I did it 'cause I thought I was protecting you, even though I know it was wrong. And I swear to you that every single time, you were my priority, and there was not a second that passed that I wasn't thinking about you and how much I loved you. But when you got into bed with him... you weren't thinking about us. You lost us. And everything that we have built -- it just didn't matter anymore, and I just can't forget that.
Hilary: Maybe these rings are magical, because they have undone the past. I don't feel like I'm drowning in my mistakes anymore, feeling guilty and unworthy.
Devon: I never want you to feel like that.
Hilary: You, neither.
Devon: Yeah. So, what's next on the agenda for our fresh new life?
Hilary: Uh...
Devon: Hmm?
Hilary: ...A long walk on the beach, of course.
Devon: Of course.
Hilary: And then, um, beating you at tennis.
Devon: That's not gonna happen, but go on.
[Both chuckle]
Hilary: I just want an incredible honeymoon... and to be a normal couple.
Devon: [Imitates snoring]
Hilary: I mean it.
Devon: [Chuckling] What? I mean it. What's good about normal?
Hilary: Normal is wonderful. Okay? When have we ever been able to just be in love and be normal? Babe, I want it all, from the white picket fence to... all the grandkids.
Devon: The grandkids? Just skip the babymaking, go straight to grandkids?
Hilary: Oh, there will be babymaking. Trust me.
Devon: Okay.
[Both laugh]
Hilary: Just like we talked about, hmm?
Devon: I remember every time that you would -- that you would picture having a baby, the father was me.
Hilary: And when I said that, it just felt like a daydream.
Devon: It did to me, too. But one day...
Hilary: Not too soon.
Devon: ...It will be true. Oh, my God. I'm gonna get up.
Hilary: What?
Devon: We're gonna be late. We're gonna be late.
Hilary: For what?
Devon: It's a surprise.
Hilary: You expect me to get out of this bed right now? Mnh-mnh. Mnh-mnh.
Devon: Yes. We can get back in the bed. I promise you, you're gonna love it, okay?
Hilary: Okay.
Devon: All right?
Hilary: Okay.
Lily: I know what it's like to forgive someone who has hurt you before. You're basically putting your heart in their hands and giving them the chance to hurt you all over again. But I love you and I miss you and I want a life with you -- a real, happy life... not one that's for show, for the kids. I mean, what else do I have to say to convince you? Do I need to apologize again?
Cane: I'm not asking for an apology. I'm just saying to you I need to take this one step at a time.
Lily: Then what step are we at right now? Because when we're together like this... when we talk... even though it hurts... all I can think about... I miss you so much.
[Footsteps approach]
Lily: [Chuckles softly]
Mattie: Mommy and Daddy are kissing again.
Cane: [Chuckles]
Lily: [Chuckles]
Hilary: Ohh.
Devon: Wow. Look at those sea pools!
Hilary: Oh, those are the virgin Gorda baths!
Devon: We'll have to make sure to take a dip in one -- or two or three or four.
Hilary: [Chuckles] This view is amazing. I feel like a bird.
Devon: Oh, baby, I'm the bird. You're an angel.
Hilary: Oh, stop hitting on me, okay? I already married you.
Devon: That just means I know how lucky I got. [Chuckles] Wow.
Victor: Now we can all celebrate the clean break from Jabot and the Abbotts.
Victoria: I'm surprised. You never mentioned you were considering it.
Victor: I gave it a lot of consideration.
Nikki: I'm sure you did give it a great deal of thought.
Victor: Mm.
Nikki: Now you can tell us the real reason why you suddenly gave back what you have always coveted.
Jack: I didn't have to strong-arm Victor at all. We simply agreed that the merger was a mistake.
Ashley: Victor doesn't believe in mistakes, Jack. He believes in winning. Sometimes I think he'd hold on to Jabot even if it was driving him into bankruptcy, which it wasn't.
Jack: Well, fortunately, I don't know how Victor's brain works. All I know is we agreed for once -- that ending this merger is better for everyone.
Ashley: So, Phyllis, do you believe this bunch of crap?
Phyllis: You know, at this point, I don't care how it happened, and I thank God that merger is dead.
Ashley: Do you realize that's not actually an answer? You and Victor were hell-bent on creating that merger. Now you seem equally hell-bent on dissolving it... with a -- wow, look at that -- a handwritten agreement. Seriously?
Jack: As Victor said, there are details to work out, but I had to get something on paper.
Ashley: Oh. I'm surprised it wasn't written in blood.
Jack: That's Victor's MO, not mine.
Phyllis: At least this is over -- with a pen instead of a bullet.
Jack: Yes, and we can end Victor's paranoia about our family and I trying to bring him down. I've seen enough of his face for a lifetime... and I think he's probably seen enough of mine.
Marco: Son of a -- [Chuckles] If you want to play games, all you had to do was ask.
Marisa: You're disgusting.
Marco: And you have a death wish.
Marisa: How does it feel to be tied up, no way out?
Marco: Is that what this is -- your little bit of revenge?
Marisa: No, no, no. It's not my turn to pay you back. That honor -- that honor belongs to Jack.
Jack: Look, the why is not important. What matters is we have dad's company back, just the way you and Billy wanted it.
[Cell phone rings]
Jack: Oh. Excuse me. Hello? Jack Abbott.
Marisa: Come to your family's cabin. There is a package here, all tied up and ready for you.
Hilary: Okay, here. Why don't you just sit here?
Devon: Okay.
Hilary: Okay?
Devon: Okay.
Hilary: Can I get you anything, huh? Can I get you some water?
Devon: No, thanks, baby. The embarrassment of having motion sickness is enough. [Chuckles]
Hilary: Yeah. That last bit of that ride was a little --
Devon: I know. I love you. Don't describe it, though.
Hilary: Okay. I won't. [Chuckles]
Devon: I'm sorry.
Hilary: Ohh. My poor baby.
Devon: Mm.
Hilary: I wish I could help you.
Devon: If you could stop the jackhammering in my stomach and head, that'd be fantastic.
Hilary: Yeah. The last few days was a bit crazy.
Devon: Mm. You know, I think it's catching up with me, 'cause I feel like I could sleep for a week.
Hilary: Well, a nap does sound pretty good.
Devon: It does. It does. Oh. We have the, uh -- the hike up Gorda peak with the guide.
Hilary: Oh. That's right.
Devon: You should go on it.
Hilary: What? No. I'm not gonna leave you here.
Devon: Yeah, no. I'm not gonna be very entertaining if I'm snoring. See the sights, and I'll stare at the back of my eyelids.
Hilary: I would feel selfish if I went. No.
Devon: It's not selfish if I'm telling you to go, babe, okay? You hike, I'll sleep, and when you get back, I'm thinking we can soak in that big tub for a little bit before dinner.
Hilary: Oh. My husband is planning our bathtimes. I like that.
Devon: Yeah.
Hilary: I love you.
Devon: I love you, too.
Hilary: Okay. I'll go, and I'll have the concierge bring you up something for your head and your stomach.
Devon: Thanks. Get out of here. Thank you. I appreciate that.
Hilary: Okay.
[Door opens, closes]
Victor: The merger between Newman and Abbott was never one of friendship, okay? And it certainly turned out not to be one... of good business. I merged with them to make a preemptive strike.
Victoria: To get control of Jabot, to do unto Jack before he did unto you.
Nikki: Yes, because Jack supposedly was arranging an attack on you and Newman.
Victoria: You wanted to keep your enemies close. I get it, dad. It's very you.
Nikki: Why end that now? What has changed?
Victor: I have surmised that Jack is not the instigator of the plot against me...
Nikki: Ohh.
Victor: ...But it most likely is one of the other Abbotts.
Nikki: Are you kidding? Victor, good lord! After all of this, and it wasn't even Jack? Couldn't you have done a little more research when you learned there was gonna be a coup?
Victoria: So, who is behind the paragon project? Is it Ashley, Kyle, Billy?
Victor: I don't know. But I'm going to go back to my corner... reassess everything, and come out for another round.
Jack: I'm sorry. There's something I need to deal with.
Phyllis: What's up?
Jack: That was the legal team dealing with the dissolution of the merger. I want to make sure all the "T's" are crossed, all the "I's" are dotted.
Phyllis: Okay. Then I will see you later.
Jack: Count on it.
Phyllis: Well, that was anticlimactic. I tell you, all that misery undone with just a few scribbles on a piece of paper? Wow.
Ashley: I just can't take it anymore. Please stop the play-acting. You do not believe this is over, and I know it.
Phyllis: I think it is the beginning of the end, Ashley.
Ashley: Really? I think that Jack was lying about why he and Victor aren't partners anymore.
Phyllis: Why, because that merger was so much fun for them? I think they're gonna be thrilled this is behind them.
Ashley: Because the merger caused, quite literally, blood, sweat, and tears, they would not shake their hands and move on.
Phyllis: Except they just did.
Ashley: You know what, Phyllis? I'm a part of this company and this family. You know something, and you're gonna tell me.
Lily: So...
Cane: So?
Lily: ...What's next? Because I think I heard the words "ice" and "cream."
Cane: Oh. And, uh, a movie?
Lily: Popcorn?
Cane: Dinner?
Lily: Which they'll be too full for.
Cane: Well, they're kids, and summer's almost over, so...
Lily: Mm. I'm jealous. Sounds like the perfect day -- well, except for the part that, uh -- putting them to bed. That doesn't sound like fun.
Cane: You know, I have a solution to that problem.
Lily: What's that?
Cane: Well, maybe you could...help me with the bedtime duties.
Lily: You want me to come over at bedtime?
Cane: Yeah. And it would be kind of silly for you to come all that way, then leave, so maybe, uh, you know...
Lily: So, I should stay?
Cane: I would like that.
Lily: Is this just for the kids? 'Cause I told you --
Cane: It is for the kids. It's also for us, 'cause we have a long way to go, and I have this feeling, you know, that maybe we can, uh -- maybe we'll get there.
Lily: I think we can, too.
Cane: [Sighs]
Hilary: Ah, there you are. I hope you don't mind. I took the trail without -- uh... Neil.
Phyllis: I have no idea why Victor and Jack broke up the company -- none. Am I sorry about that? Hell, no. This merger never should have happened. And we went along with Jack. We trusted him. But it was insane and this thing is over and it's a good thing.
Ashley: So, it has nothing to do with what you said about Victor unleashing a monster?
Phyllis: Victor is his own monster.
Ashley: That's not what you meant.
Phyllis: Oh, meant? What did I mean? I was pissed!
Ashley: For a reason, Phyllis.
Phyllis: Yeah, maybe because I don't like Victor very much.
Ashley: Oh, just stop it. If there's an attack against my family, I have a right to know. Does this have to do with Jabot?
Phyllis: Oh, Ashley, would you please just back off?
Ashley: I'm not -- not until you tell me what's going on!
Phyllis: You know what? This could hurt Jack and me and even Victor, okay, Ashley? We are all in danger now -- every one of us.
Marco: Kill me now, because if I get loose, I swear to you --
Marisa: You used to scare me, Marco. You used to make me feel so many things. Not anymore.
[Door opens]
Jack: Thanks. Just what I wanted.
Marco: Run, Jackie! Run before I get you!
Jack: You're panicking, Marco. You should be, because now, finally, your fate is in my hands.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Summer: Guys, I remembered. I did see someone at the cabin the night of the murder. I saw Harding.
Dylan: You seem pretty anxious for us to catch Marco. It wouldn't be because you were doing business with him, too, right?
