Episode # 10728 ~ Nikki makes a confession to Victor; Cane calls a truce with Lily; Neil dreams of revenge.

Provided By Suzanne

Devon: Hey, Cane, have you seen Colin? I'm trying to get in touch with him.

Cane: No, I don't know where he is. I assume he's probably out having fun with that cash he won from the other night, you know? So that means he's probably causing some unsuspecting soul some trouble.

Devon: Sounds like him. That's what he's best at.

Cane: Okay. What has he done now?

Neil: I have this real feeling that you two can make it work, as long as you're honest with each other. And I'm assuming that you two are honest with each other. Suspicious minds and lies... they are a killer, and they will rip love apart.

Lily: Hilary. Hey. [Chuckles] Do you agree that the chairs should be here and the flower arrangements for the ceremony should be over there?

Hilary: Yes. Absolutely, yeah. Great suggestion.

Lily: Okay. Good. I know I'm throwing a lot at you, but we only have today to finalize the arrangements, so...

Hilary: No, no. I really appreciate all of your help. I do. And I know that my wedding, it's -- it's gonna be perfect.

Neil: Hilary and I, we were stuck in an elevator. And, yes, yes, I was a perfect gentleman.

Nikki: Mm-hmm. So you said when you first got out. But I have to wonder.

Neil: What do you have to wonder about? All we did was talk.

Nikki: Yeah, about mistrust and suspicion. Sounds pretty disconcerting to me.

Neil: It wasn't like that. Not at all. There was nothing sinister about it. All we did was clear the air. And, yeah, we need to do some more, but, Nikki, I'm telling you right now, as sure as I'm sitting here, I am not -- I'm not gonna lose it over that wedding.

Nikki: I really hope you mean that.

Neil: Don't you worry about it. Honestly, I'm fine. But I can see in your eyes that you're not. Talk to me. What's wrong?

Nikki: [Sighs] It's Victor. What he expects of me. Neil, I'm telling you, it's about to make me want to take a drink.

[Flatline]

Stitch: We are not gonna lose you, James. You hear me, marine? You fight, damn it! Fight!

Paddles charged to 300, doctor.

Stitch: Clear.

[Flatline continues]

Stitch: Clear.

[Flatline continues]

Stitch: Call again! I need backup! Come on. Come on, James.

No code team available. City bus overturned downtown. ER's swamped. Dozens of injuries.

Stitch: All right, take over CPR.

You got it.

Stitch: BP?

80 over 40.

Stitch: Prepare 10cc epinephrine with a cardiac needle. Come on. Don't you give up on us. Watch out. Clear.

[Monitors beeping]

Stitch: Come on. Come on.

[Flatline]

Stitch: No. No, no, no. Not yet. We're not calling it yet. Step aside. Clear.

[Flatline continues]

Abby: Victoria, you can't just list off a bunch of dry, boring facts and call it a day.

Victoria: There is nothing boring about my presentation.

Abby: There's no energy, no humor, no emotion at all. Yeah, there's lots of unpronounceable words and charts and graphs and stuff, but it's lacking what dad sent us here to bring -- personality.

Victoria: I have given plenty of high-level presentations to specialized groups of people. How many have you given? None. That's right. You can't seriously think that you have a better handle on this than I do.

Abby: I don't think. I know. And if you really want what's best for Newman-Abbott, then you will listen to me and admit that I am right.

Victor: Please, no more games. I want the truth.

Ashley: That's exactly what I'm giving you. I am not the mastermind behind some plot to destroy you and take over your company, Victor.

Victor: Jack and you are my enemies.

Ashley: You're Abby's father, and this project, whatever the hell, I've never heard about it from Jack or anybody else, and I really kind of resent the accusation that I'm behind some crazy conspiracy.

Victor: You have conspired against me in the past. I'm sadly aware of what you are capable of.

Abby: Will you put aside your ego just for once and have an open mind?

Victoria: Excuse me?

Abby: Listen, you have put together a bunch of dry, boring, technical material and mixed in some dry, boring financial data. I got to say, it's just not better than what I put together.

Victoria: You know we're not here to entertain people, Abby.

Abby: Right. But we're also not here to numb their brains.

Victoria: Well, I don't intend to make it boring, all right? Or dull. I know our audience -- senior chemical engineers, wall street players, investors. They're going to make their decisions based on solid facts, okay? A smile and a charming personality is not gonna be enough to win them over.

Abby: Look, people here, they know you. But they don't know me -- yet. So this is our chance -- our chance to come together as a team and show them who we really are. We're not just Victor Newman's daughters. We are Victoria Newman and Abby Newman, and we are the future of this company. So? What do you think?

Victoria: I'm thinking that maybe I can lose some of my graphics to make time for a more personal appeal.

Abby: Yes. Yes! This is great. Okay. You present the nuts and the bolts, and I will bring the humor and the heartbeat. You know, things that people really like. Deal?

Stitch: You deserved better than this. You should've had a future. I'm gonna do whatever I can to track down your next of kin. Personally make sure they get this. I failed you, and I am... I am so sorry. I'm sorry.

Neil: So, what is Victor expecting that's making you feel like your sobriety is on thin ice?

Nikki: [Breathes deeply] We've been getting a little closer. Spending time together. He wants me to come by the office and talk to him. I'm afraid he's gonna ask me to move back home.

Neil: Home is a huge trigger. I know you're worried about that.

Nikki: Yeah. I mean, it'll be a daily struggle. How am I expected to go back to the house where I completely fell apart without depending on alcohol to get me through it? How do you do it? How do you go into your apartment every day and not see Hilary everywhere you look without running down to the corner to buy a bottle?

Neil: Honestly, after I got sober, I made the conscious choice not to let those demons in. You know what I mean? And it was my home long before Hilary walked through that door and shamed it with my boy. I'm not gonna let them ruin it anymore. I'm not gonna let them take any more power away from me in my life. Because I'm telling you right now, Nikki, I am the one in control.

Devon: Don't look at me. I'm not in any trouble. I just wanted to pick Colin's brain about some things we discussed at the bachelor party.

Cane: Got it.

Lily: Hey, um... uh, we have some ideas for the wedding to run by you.

Cane: Well, stay strong. I need to take care of some business at Fenmore's. See you later.

Lily: So, where should we start?

Devon: Um... you guys don't really need me for this, right? I'm sure my lovely bride can handle the details.

Hilary: Uh, yeah, no way. This is our wedding.

Lily: Yeah, it's only the most important day of your life.

Hilary: So we need to nail down the menu.

Lily: Yes, and pick which of these two photographers to go with.

Hilary: And we need to decide what kind of music you want to have for our first dance. 'Cause, you know, we can't just have some random song come on. This is gonna be a song that we remember for the rest of our lives.

Devon: Stop! Just -- I-I can't handle this right now.

Devon: I'm sorry. I'm just --

Lily: You're upset about something, obviously.

Hilary: Uh, lily, can you just give us a second?

Lily: Yeah. Sure.

Devon: [Clears throat]

Hilary: Okay. What's going on? Huh? Because you haven't been yourself ever since the bachelor party. Are you getting cold feet? Is it something I did?

Devon: No, no. No, no, no, no, no. It's nothing that you did.

Hilary: Okay. Well, then what is it? Can you just explain it to me, Devon?

Devon: Honestly, baby, I -- I've, um... I haven't got caught up on sleep. You know? And -- and there was the blackout, 'cause of the storm, and you getting stuck in the elevator with Neil. Which I know you're fine, but still -- it's -- it was weird and random. And, uh... I've been really stressed out with all the planning.

Hilary: Why?

Devon: Well, giving the woman of my dreams the wedding she deserves is a lot of pressure.

Hilary: Okay. Well, if we're both there, and we say "I do," that will be everything that I need.

Devon: Okay.

Hilary: Okay?

Devon: Okay. Then there's nothing to worry about.

Hilary: All right.

Devon: All right.

Cane: Hey.

Lily: Hi.

Cane: You okay?

Lily: Uh...yeah. No, Devon had a minor freak-out, but Hilary's dealing with it, so...

Cane: I'm sure he'll be fine.

Lily: Well, since we have a minute, I just -- I wanted to say thank you -- again.

Cane: What for?

Lily: For changing your mind about full custody.

Cane: Yeah, well, you know... it was the right thing to do for the kids. You know, we may not be together anymore, but, you know... we're still a family. A different kind of family, but we'll make it work.

Lily: Yeah. I mean, the fact that we can be in the same room and still be civil, that's a big step.

Cane: Yeah, it is.

Lily: So, you...coming to the wedding?

Cane: I was planning on it. You know, I want to be there and support Devon, you know.

Lily: Good. I think, after everything he and Hilary have been through, it's important for him to have people there who love and support him.

Cane: Yeah.

Nikki: I envy your strength, the stand you've taken. God, I would give anything to go home to the mansion, have everything be normal.

Neil: You're really fearful that you're gonna fall back on old habits.

Nikki: Well, yeah. Starting with caving and moving right back in because I know that's what Victor wants.

Neil: No, no, no. Forget what Victor wants. What about what you want? That's the only question that matters here.

Nikki: Well, I love him. And I want to have a life with him. But not yet. I -- I -- I'm just not ready to do that yet.

Neil: Okay. Then tell him that. Say it. Don't let him guilt you into coming home to the ranch until you are sure that you're ready, not a second before. Because if you do, you're gonna slip right off that wagon.

Nikki: So just lay down the law to the great Victor Newman, huh?

Neil: Exactly. You tell him how it's gonna be. And don't worry how he's gonna react when he doesn't get the answer that he's looking for.

Victor: I shouldn't have to remind you of how you betrayed me before.

Ashley: You're talking about what my family did to you after the merger.

Victor: Not only your family. You accused me of embezzling funds.

Ashley: I never felt right about that, and I tried to rectify it as soon as I could.

Victor: Were you trying to rectify it because you were afraid it would blow up in your face? I mean, you're talking about creating bridges between the two of us for the sake of Abby, but I think you've chosen me as the enemy, haven't you?

Ashley: Well, clearly, that's your interpretation.

Victor: Ashley, was I hallucinating when you came to my jail cell and pumped me about information about that tragic incident with your brother in the park? You used family history, didn't you?

Ashley: Oh, please. How many times have you done that to me and everybody else you know, all in the name of protecting your family and your company? I'm not gonna argue with you about this, because it's pointless.

Victor: You're not gonna win it.

Ashley: Do I wish the Abbotts still had control of Jabot? Absolutely, I do. Do I hate the fact that this feud between you and my brother escalated to the point that he was in the hospital, fighting for his life? Absolutely, I do. But I'm not planning some vindictive assault against you. I wouldn't do that. Now, do you believe me or not?

Abby: Hey, you.

Stitch: Hey. I'm glad you picked up.

Abby: It's Abby. Well, not really. It's the cheap electronic version. But leave me a message, and I will get back to you in person.

[Beeps]

Stitch: Hey, it's me. Uh... wanted to catch you, but you're probably tied up with your big presentation. It's just, today's been -- turned out to be, uh... you know what? Forget it. Uh, I'll just catch you when you get home. Hope you're out there, conquering the world.

Victor: I want to believe you. Because everything I hold dear is at stake.

Ashley: You don't think it's me. Because you would never tell me that you thought I was responsible if you did. I see what you're doing. You're hoping that maybe you're gonna trip me up, and I'm gonna admit to something, but it's not gonna happen because I don't know anything.

Victor: Someone who's close to me, someone who is in my circle is responsible for this paragon project. If I find out who it is, they will regret the day they were born.

Ashley: You can't tell me that you accept that I'm telling the truth? I mean, is this really what we've come to?

Nikki: What's going on here?

Ashley: Victor's just proving why this merger will never work. Because clearly, we don't trust each other, our families don't trust each other, and without trust, you have nothing.

Lily: Hey, Devon.

Devon: Hey. Oh, just so you know, everything's -- there's nothing to worry about. Hilary and I finalized the menu.

Lily: No. Look, don't worry about that. I want to know what happened upstairs. Are you okay?

Devon: Yeah. No, I'm fine. That was, um -- you caught me at a bad moment, and I needed to talk to Hilary. Everything's cool.

Lily: Okay. I know you, and I can tell something's going on, so don't say, "nothing." What's happening?

Devon: I just -- I've had a lot of things on my mind over the last few days.

Lily: Like what? I mean, why are you suddenly freaking out about the wedding?

Devon: I didn't come down here to get interrogated, okay?

Lily: Look, I'm not trying to interrogate you, but I'm your sister, and I'm concerned. And the more you dodge me, the more I'm just gonna assume the worst, so just tell me what's going on. I mean, are you having second thoughts about marrying Hilary?

Devon: No. I want to marry her more than anything.

Lily: But...? Devon, talk to me. I can tell that you need to talk to somebody, so please, tell me.

Devon: There was a, um... there was this girl at my bachelor party.

Lily: No, you didn't. You didn't.

Devon: I'm torn up about what happened that night.

Cane: I got your text. You okay? What do you need?

Hilary: You know what I really need? I need you to be honest with me, Cane. What really happened at that bachelor party?

Cane: Why are you asking me about that?

Hilary: Because ever since that night, Devon, he's -- he hasn't been himself. He's...

Cane: Well, I don't know what I can tell you. You know, I left early, right after the -- the girls got there.

Hilary: "Girls"? As in --

Cane: Look, don't worry. It was Colin. You know, keeping it classy, as usual. But Devon was not into it. He made it very clear that you are the only girl he wants. Okay?

Hilary: That's nice to hear.

Cane: Lily mentioned to me earlier that there's some tension with you and Devon. Weddings are emotional. He will settle down, and everything will go back to normal once you go on your honeymoon.

Hilary: Okay.

Cane: Okay?

[Cell phone rings]

Cane: Excuse me one sec. Hello? Hey. Sure.

Hilary: Neil.

Neil: Hey. I overheard what Cane said about Devon. Do you mind if I shed some light on that subject?

Neil: I realize offering you advice about my son is a little, uh...awkward. I just wanted you to know... I agree with Cane. This is Devon's first marriage. His whole life is gonna change. This young man is gonna be very unsettled, no matter how crazy he is about his lady. But that doesn't mean there's anything for you to worry about.

Hilary: It's funny. That's almost exactly what Devon said earlier. And I'm not worried. I just...think I have a touch of nervous bride syndrome. But if you'll excuse me, I have some things to do.

Devon: I don't remember a whole lot from that night. I know that I was having champagne. And then Cane and Michael left. Me behind with Colin and these other two girls. And then... I remember one of the girls sitting on my lap, and she started unbuttoning my shirt. And... then she led me into the bedroom. And the next thing that I remember is waking up in bed with her. I know what you're thinking.

Lily: No. Look... I have no right to judge. People make mistakes.

Devon: Yeah, I just don't know how I led myself to make this one. It's not like I was interested in having one last fling. I love Hilary more than anything.

Lily: Well, have you thought -- I mean, what if -- what if the hooker drugged you and made it seem like you guys slept together so she could get paid?

Devon: I thought about that, but there's no proof that I didn't have sex with her. And the more I'm talking about it out loud with you, I'm starting to think maybe I should tell her the truth and pray that she can understand.

Ashley: Hi. Great minds think alike. What's the matter?

Stitch: You know that patient I told you about?

Ashley: The vet?

Stitch: Yeah. He died.

Ashley: I'm so sorry.

Stitch: And all that stuff I said about coming full circle and doing what I was meant to be doing, that was a load of crap. After what happened today... I'm questioning whether I should be a doctor at all.

Victoria: I got to admit, that story you told about dad when he was first starting out and he worked hard and persevered, it hit me right here.

Abby: Hey, who doesn't love a good rags-to-riches story? You know, I got to say, since my promotion, all the big moments that I've had, this has been my favorite -- and not just because I was fabulous, if I do say so myself. But we were fantastic together.

Victoria: We were. [Laughs] We make a great team. You know, you really proved yourself, Abby.

Abby: Thank you.

Victor: No. Thank you.

Abby: Well, I cannot wait to tell dad how awesome we were.

Victoria: Oh, yeah. Once he hears about this, he's gonna have us team up together all the time.

Abby: You know, maybe, on second thought, we should downplay it. Just a little.

[Both laugh]

Nikki: What on earth did I just walk in on?

Victor: The Abbotts resent me. There's nothing new about that. Let's not talk about that, okay? Let us... focus on us.

Nikki: What about us?

Victor: There's something I think you and I should talk about.

Nikki: I know you want me to move back home. You don't even have to answer. I -- I know that that's it. And I would like to. I just can't yet. I'm sorry. I have to wait a little longer.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: It doesn't mean that I don't love you. I just need a little more time apart. That's all.

Victor: Nikki --

Nikki: I don't want you pressuring me or manipulating me into changing my mind. Is that understood?

Victor: You have made yourself very clear about our living arrangement. But that's not why I asked you to come here.

Nikki: It isn't?

Victor: I just want to discuss our donation to the home rehab foundation, you know, and I want you to determine the amount that you want to donate, because those people helped you a lot.

Nikki: Oh, Victor that's wonderful. That's a fantastic idea. Thank you so much. Now I feel a little sheepish after what I said.

Victor: You don't need to feel sheepish at all. I understand why you would jump to those conclusions, all right?

Nikki: Thank you.

Victor: I want you to come back home. It's damn lonely without you, okay? I don't like it.

Nikki: Darling, I'm sorry. I wish I could give you a timeline, but I can't.

Victor: I know. I understand.

Nikki: I just need to be able to trust myself to know that I won't slip and won't start drinking again, and I just don't know how long that takes.

Victor: Don't let it take too long. I miss you.

Nikki: And I miss you. More than you know.

Victoria: Is something wrong?

Abby: Uh, no, um... it was Ben. He left me a message. He sounded kind of upset.

Victoria: Oh. Uh... why don't I just go downstairs and order our lunch and then give you some time to make your call?

Abby: No, um, you don't need to leave.

Victoria: Well, you're gonna call him back, aren't you?

Abby: No. Um... I don't think so. He didn't even tell me what was bothering him. He told me not to worry about it, not that I'm shocked.

Victoria: What does that mean?

Abby: When you and Ben were together, did you guys talk a lot -- like, deep, meaningful conversations?

Victoria: Yeah.

Abby: Oh.

Victoria: Well, I mean, you know, I was pregnant, and... there was a lot of heavy stuff going on.

Abby: Well, did he ever talk about himself?

Victoria: Sometimes. He was in a lot of pain over his son. You know, his ex-wife, Jenna, was basically shutting him out of max's life.

Abby: Did he talk about his time in the army?

Victoria: Not so much. Although I know it was fairly intense for him. The survivor's guilt and all that.

Abby: Basically... I don't know. He just -- he won't open up to me about anything. I don't know if he thinks I'm too young or supercilious. I-I don't know, and I don't tend to ask.

Victoria: Why do you think that is?

Abby: Truthfully? Maybe I'm not up to hearing it.

Stitch: You know, when I was patching people up in the field, shorthanded half the time, I -- I basically felt useless. Today reminded me of that... how helpless you feel.

Ashley: Look, I can see that this is bringing up all sorts of painful memories for you, but you told me yourself that this man needed treatment six months ago. I mean, he was too far gone. You can't blame yourself.

Stitch: Yeah, but I do, Ashley. I keep asking myself over and over again what I could've done differently, what I should've done better. James -- James, he -- he didn't trust doctors. But he trusted me. And what did he get for it?

Ashley: You were compassionate. That's what he got. You were with him every step of the way. And maybe you don't think that matters, but I can see that it does. It matters to me, and it matters to every other person that's gonna be lucky enough to have you treat them in the future.

Stitch: If you say so.

Ashley: I do say so. And you know what? You ask Abby later, and she's gonna say so, too.

Stitch: No. She won't. Because I'm not telling her any of this. I can't talk to her the way I talk to you.

Devon: I don't want to start our marriage off with lies and secrets, you know?

Lily: No, I -- I get it. I understand. And I really respect you for wanting to tell her the truth. But you'd also be taking a huge risk. Look at Cane and me. I tell him I have one night stand, and boom -- our marriage is over, and he tried to take the kids away from me.

Devon: You guys are in a much better place now, right?

Lily: Well, yeah. I mean, we're not at each other's throats over the kids anymore, but he couldn't get over the fact that I slept with Joe. And I knew that he was gonna find out eventually, and I thought it would be better if it came from me. But your situation is different.

Devon: How is it different?

Lily: Because you might not even have had sex with this girl, and you're never gonna see her again.

Devon: And I'm hoping that if I explain that to Hilary, she'll understand it. And after she's done being pissed at me, she'll find a way to put it behind her. I don't -- I mean...

Lily: I mean, she might react that way, or... she might not be able to get the image of you and this girl out of her head.

Devon: Well, you're not making this any easier for me.

Lily: Well, I'm just trying to give you all the angles before you make a decision on whether or not you want to tell Hilary.

Hilary: Tell me what? Okay, come on. It can't be that bad.

Devon: No, baby, it's the, um... the food that you picked for the reception. It's rumaki. It's liver, right? I don't know if I told you -- I'm -- I'm not a fan of liver at all.

Hilary: Okay. Is that all? Because I think we can come to a compromise with that.

Devon: Yes, baby, that's -- that's all it is is the food.

Victoria: I'm really not sure what that means, Abby. Aren't you interested in having a deeper relationship with Ben?

Abby: Yeah. It -- it's not that. I want more. I just... I don't know if I can be the woman that he needs. When I got his voicemail today and I heard his voice, it sounded almost like he didn't know if I could handle what was going on. And then it made me wonder -- I don't know -- maybe I can't. Maybe I'm out of my depth with him. Does that make any sense?

Victoria: Yeah, it does. I think you're just scared.

Abby: I'm terrified. I love him, and I don't want to lose him.

Victoria: Okay. There is only one way to get past this.

Abby: Face it head-on?

Victoria: That's right. You have to be brave, all right? I'm gonna wrap things up here. You get in the limo, go home. You need to go and be with Ben. You need to show him that you can be the woman that he needs.

Stitch: I started to leave Abby a message, thinking I should tell her what happened, but I -- I stopped myself.

Ashley: Why?

Stitch: Ever since we got together, I -- I've been the one looking out for her.

Ashley: Okay. So... what does that mean? You just -- you're afraid to be vulnerable with her? I mean, it's not easy to rely on her, I guess, when times are rough?

Stitch: Yeah, it's kind of weird. Plus, she's been so excited about her new job, I didn't -- I didn't want to burden her with my issues.

Ashley: You could never be a burden. Not to anyone.

Nikki: I know you're busy. I'll let you get back to your work. And we can talk tomorrow. The details about the donation.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: I'll see you then. See you tomorrow.

Victor: Bonnie, um... yes, just, uh, forget about the dinner, okay? And the floral arrangements. Mrs. Newman is not coming home tonight. Yeah.

Hilary: What the hell is this? Is that Devon with a hooker from his bachelor party?

Devon: What was that for?

Hilary: Did you think that I wouldn't find out? Huh? This wedding is off!

Cane: Neil? Is everything okay?

Neil: It will be.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Jack: Marisa is not the enemy.

Phyllis: Are you sure about that?

Abby: I'm back. What'd I miss?

Adam: You said that you would think about you, me, and Connor settling down here in Paris and starting over. Let's make a decision.

Chelsea: I have.
