Episode # 10691 ~ Neil helps Nikki; Mariah warns Dylan not to hurt Sharon; Avery gets help from an unlikely source.
Provided By Suzanne
Dylan: [Smooches]
[Cell phone vibrates]
Sharon: Is that the phone?
Dylan: Yeah, do-don't worry about it. Go back to sleep. Hey, what's up?
Avery: Oh, Dylan, I'm so glad you answered. I-I called a couple of times, and I-I left messages, but I know you don't always check your voicemail, so I --
Dylan: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down. What's wrong?
Avery: I heard a noise outside on the balcony. Dylan, there was someone there. He was looking through the window. He was watching me.
Dylan: Did you call the police?
Avery: I-I didn't even think, I -- [Gasps] Oh, my god.
Dylan: Avery? Hello? Are you there?
Sharon: Um...what's going on?
Nikki: Oh, it sounds like that storm is still in the area.
Neil: Yeah. It's a good thing we didn't get caught in it, right?
Nikki: [Chuckles] Yeah, nothing like coming home from rehab looking like a wet rat.
Neil: Oh, stop it. If it makes you feel any better, you look so fresh, so clean, brand-new.
Nikki: Oh, well, thank you. It does make me feel better. And thank you for picking me up and bringing me home.
Neil: Oh, yeah. You call this place home?
Nikki: It'll do for now.
Neil: I'm not your sponsor, Nikki, but this is a slippery place. You know, you got the bar, you got the minibar in the room, you have no one to talk to if you suddenly have cravings. Don't you think you should be in a place that's more familiar?
Nikki: No. This is where I need to be.
Marco: If you're looking for the 9mm you keep in the drawer, it's not where you think it is.
Victor: You haven't got the guts.
Marco: You sure about that?
Victor: Posture all you want. You won't shoot.
Marco: Jack Abbott may not shoot, but Jack's at the bottom of the ocean.
Victor: That's right. You're not Jack Abbott. You're a thug in a $2,000 suit.
Marco: $3,000.
Victor: If you're stupid enough to use that gun and shoot me dead, I've ensured that you'll be exposed for the imposter you are.
Marco: Oh, I'll be long gone by then.
Victor: Your bank accounts are frozen. So they'll find you, and they will extradite you back to Peru and the hellhole that I found you in. The good news is everyone there knows you. The bad news is they all want you killed. Now, how long do you think you'll survive?
Marco: Might still be worth it just to see you dead.
Victor: The magazine is empty.
Marco: Is it?
Victor: Try it.
[Gun clicks]
[Gun clicks]
Marco: [Laughs]
Victor: [Laughs]
Sharon: You're going over to Avery's right now?
Dylan: Yeah. I have to. Can you call 911 for me and send them to Avery's apartment?
Sharon: Well, can't you just let the police handle it? You have to go over there by yourself?
Dylan: She does not rattle easily. Something's wrong.
Sharon: Okay, but what if the guy is still there?
Dylan: I'll be okay. I promise.
[Door opens, closes]
Lily: Um, can you save my place, please? I'm just gonna go outside for some fresh air. I think your fuzzy navels are making me fuzzy. [Chuckles] Oh, hey. If it isn't my favorite drinking buddy.
Joe: Oh, yeah? That's what I am to you now?
Lily: Well, I guess you are now. Here. Come join me. Please. Do you need help? [Chuckles] So, where were you? I thought that you were turning in early for the night.
Joe: Oh, I just went out for a drive, clear my head.
Lily: In this weather? Really?
Joe: A little thunder and lightning.
Lily: Well, most people wouldn't go out unless it was absolutely necessary. [Chuckles]
Joe: Well, I'm, uh -- I'm not most people. Plus, the unpredictability of mother nature is kind of exciting.
Lily: Wow. You sound like one of those storm-chaser people.
Joe: You could call me that.
Lily: [Laughs]
Joe: What are you having to drink?
Lily: Uh, fuzzy navel, but I think I'm ready for something a little stronger.
Joe: All right. Two Moscow mules, please.
Lily: Ooh, Moscow mules. Perfect. We can drink them in honor of all the jackasses in our lives, to all the people who said they were one thing but turned out to be something completely different.
Marco: Oh, come on, Victor. Where's your sense of humor? You knew I wasn't gonna shoot you.
[Clacks]
Victor: Don't play games with me.
Marco: Or I won't live to tell about it?
Victor: You keep your hands clean, you got that?
Marco: I don't take well to orders or threats. You got that?!
Victor: One wrong move -- try me -- and people will know who you are and what you have done.
Marco: Mark my words, my friend. I'm going to march out of here in triumph, and I will not go empty-handed.
[Door opens]
Phyllis: Hey. How you doing? Is this a little club of the boys' meeting or can anyone join in?
Victor: Do me a favor, Phyllis, my dear, and don't ever barge in here without announcing yourself, okay?
Phyllis: Oh, okay. Your assistant went home hours ago. But you didn't, did you, Jack? No, you needed one of your private little chats with your partner here. You two, always plotting, conspiring. Well, I am sorry to tell you that your big secret is out. That's right. I know everything.
[Knock on door]
Mariah: You're okay. I mean, you are okay, right? He didn't hurt you?
Sharon: Who? Dylan?
Mariah: No, not Dylan. The -- the man that was watching you.
Sharon: No one was watching me.
Mariah: Sharon, you called the police. Kevin was there when it came in.
Sharon: Oh, you know, it's a good thing that Kevin is not a cop or he would have gone to the wrong house.
Mariah: Am in an alternate universe here? What is going on?
Sharon: Yes, I did call 911, but not for me. The intruder was at Avery's house.
Mariah: Avery's?
Sharon: Yeah, she called Dylan. She said that there was someone out on her balcony, a peeping tom or whatever. Anyway, then I guess her power went out and then her phone went dead.
Mariah: Okay, so you called 911 for her.
Sharon: Yeah, and then Dylan went over there to see if she's okay.
Mariah: He went over there?
Sharon: Well, yeah. You know Dylan. Someone's in trouble.
Mariah: He makes captain America look like a slacker. So, where does that leave you?
Sharon: What do you mean?
Mariah: I mean, it doesn't bother you that he's still tied to her?
Sharon: No. No. I mean, you know what? He -- he -- he was in love with her for a long time. You know, you don't just get over that overnight.
Mariah: Yeah, exactly my point.
Sharon: I'm not gonna do this. I'm not gonna get paranoid about those two.
Mariah: Fine. I'll do it for you.
Dylan: Avery!
Avery: [Breathing shakily]
Dylan: Hello?
Avery: You're here. Oh, god, you're here.
Dylan: Oh, you're shaking.
Avery: I'll be okay in a minute.
Dylan: No, no, no. Come on, come on. Sit down. Come on.
Avery: No, no. First, tell me -- tell me, did you -- did you see anybody outside, anybody suspicious looking?
Dylan: It was quiet, nobody around.
Avery: As far as you know.
Dylan: Wh-what happened? When did you notice somebody at the window?
Avery: Well, I-I-I had just finished dinner. I was gonna read a book, and I heard some thunder, so I went to the window to see how bad the storm was, and that's when I saw him looking at me.
Dylan: Him? Are you sure it was a man?
Avery: I'm pretty sure. He was -- he was tall. He had a trench coat and a hat.
Dylan: Anything else distinguishing?
Avery: [Sighs] No. I-I only caught a flash of him, and then he saw me looking back at him and he disappeared.
Dylan: How?
Avery: Well, he -- he must have used the utility ladder, I suppose.
Dylan: A man in a trench coat wearing a hat could describe hundreds of guys during this kind of weather. But you know and I know who it could have been.
[Knock on door]
Avery: [Gasps]
Paul: GCPD. Open up. Avery!
Dylan: Hey, Paul, Paul. It's okay. It's okay. The guy's gone.
Paul: Dylan, what the hell are you doing here?
Avery: It's -- it's my fault. I-I-I called him.
Paul: So, you decided to do our job for us?
Dylan: I had Sharon contact you, didn't I?
Paul: Okay, so the intruder took off?
Dylan: We think it's Joe.
Avery: Well, we don't know for sure.
Dylan: Avery.
Avery: Okay, I-I never saw his face. I believe that it's Joe. I-I saw the figure of a man on the balcony.
Paul: Okay. When was the last time you saw Joe?
Avery: About a half-hour ago.
Paul: All right. We're gonna take a look around, see what we can find. Keep your phones with you. Let's go.
Avery: Okay.
[Door closes]
Avery: [Sighs] Better. Better. I can't believe that I am letting this get to me, Dylan. I have interrogated some of the most violent criminals. I have looked them straight in the eye and not blinked.
Dylan: It, uh, gets a lot tougher when it's personal.
Avery: Dylan, I'm scared. Joe scares me. He's -- he's getting so desperate. Faking paralysis and now he's stalking me. What's next?
Dylan: Nothing's next. He may have hurt you once, but that's not gonna happen again.
Lily: It just hurts, you know, being lied to, just finding out that your marriage isn't what you thought it was, that the one person you're with can't be trusted.
Joe: Yeah. I've been there.
Lily: It's like you think everything is great. I mean, not -- not great. Everybody has their ups and downs. But the foundation is strong. And the next thing you know, before you know it, some woman comes along and then your husband's kissing her in the park.
Joe: Who in their right mind would stray from you?
Lily: [Scoffs] A man who has had the goods dangled in front of him like a piece of candy. And then Michael may as well be a pimp, because he basically pushed Lauren and Cane together. I mean, I-I-I get it, you know? He's going through a lot. He has cancer. He's having problems. But why does he have to make his problem my problem and my kids' problem? I mean, doesn't he see what he's doing to them? Cane is already sleeping here tonight. The kids are gonna be so disappointed.
Joe: I'm sorry.
Lily: I can't win. Every time I try to talk to Cane about it, he just makes me feel like I'm making too much of it. And you know, maybe he's right. Maybe I -- maybe I am making too much of it. I don't know.
Joe: Lily, okay, you're the victim here, all right? You can stand up for yourself. Look, I know what it's like to be dumped on. All I ever wanted to do was love Avery, and what happened? Okay, she gets seduced away by this tool McAvoy and then blames me for not being this attentive husband. Okay, they want to make us the bad guys, but we're not.
Phyllis: How could you do this?
Marco: Look, it just fell in my lap.
Phyllis: I'll say.
Marco: Listen, things went farther than either of us expected, but I want you to know no one meant to hurt you.
Phyllis: How could you think it wouldn't hurt finding out you have a son you never told me about?
Marco: Oh, that.
Phyllis: That. What did you think I was talking about?
Victor: My goodness, Jack. You have a long-lost son?
Phyllis: As if you didn't know about this already.
Marco: Who told you?
Phyllis: I found out from your sister who found out from her new nephew. Why in the hell would you keep something like this from us?
Marco: Look, I only found out about Gabe myself a few months ago.
Phyllis: That isn't answering the question.
Marco: I couldn't just come out with it. Victor and I, at the same time, were trying to work on something together. I had an uphill battle trying to convince my family this merger was a good thing, and I didn't want them distracted by a cheap affair I had years ago.
Victor: Very wise decision, Jack.
Phyllis: You would say that, wouldn't you?
Victor: Well, we both wanted this merger to work out.
Phyllis: Yeah! Yeah, maybe even more so, because maybe you knew about it. Did you know the truth about Gabe? Did you deliver the news to Jack in exchange for this new partnership of yours? Am I even close?
Victor: You're so far off-base. You know, this was a business decision. This merger's good for both companies.
Phyllis: Yeah. Well, I know that something isn't on the up-and-up with you two.
[Cell phone rings]
Victor: Whoa, whoa, whoa. One second. Hello?
Neil: Victor, it's Neil. I thought you ought to hear this. Um, Nikki is out of rehab.
Victor: She didn't finish the program?
Neil: No, no, no. She finished. I just picked her up and brought her to her room at the athletic club.
Victor: All right. Thank you.
Neil: I didn't want you to worry.
Victor: Um, this is an urgent personal matter I need to take care of.
Marco: Is it about Nikki?
Victor: You worry about Phyllis, all right?
Marco: Look, why -- why don't we go home? We'll have some dinner, and then we can talk, huh?
Phyllis: No. I'm not falling for that. No more stalling. We're gonna do this right here, right now.
Sharon: There is no reason to make more of this than it is. Dylan didn't go over to Avery's house to cheat on me.
Mariah: Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Next thing you know, she's gonna be knocked up with his kid.
Sharon: Dylan wouldn't do that. He's a good man.
Mariah: They all are until they aren't.
Sharon: [Sighs] Why are you trying to rile me up like this? You know how well that goes. Am I happy that Dylan ran off to help Avery? Not really, but how can I complain? Look at all the times that Dylan has left Avery to come over and help me. But who knows. Maybe this is Avery's plan to get back at me. Or maybe...
Mariah: She's trying to get Dylan back and it's working?
Sharon: You know what? Dylan went out of his way to assure me that his feelings for me are real and that he would never lie to me. So if he wanted to be with Avery, he would just tell me. And he hasn't. And we are in a committed relationship now. We're living together.
Mariah: What, I don't talk to you for a day and already you're shacking up? What's next? He's gonna make an honest woman out of you?
Sharon: Well...you know, I mean, marriage is the last thing on our mind right now. I mean, we've both been down that road before, and neither one of us is looking to rush in to anything. I just want to be the best person I can be.
Mariah: Well, if you ask me, it sounds kind of boring.
Sharon: [Chuckles] I think I need a little boring in my life right now.
Mariah: Oh, I guess that's better than some pervert looking through your windows like Avery.
Sharon: Hmm. Yeah, I'm sure the police are over there now. They'll handle it. It'll be fine.
Mariah: Well, you know, I can stay, if you want, until you figure out what happened.
Sharon: Oh, no. You don't have to, but thank you for the offer.
Mariah: All right. Call me if you need me, okay? I'm serious. Bye.
[Door closes]
Sharon: Hi, Dylan. It's me. I'm just wondering how things are going over at Avery's. Call me, please?
Paul: Cursory check showed no fingerprints on the balcony, nothing on the utility ladder, either. There weren't even any footprints underneath it. We spoke with a woman who was returning from a walk with her dog. She saw no one.
Dylan: That doesn't matter. It was Joe.
Paul: Based on what, Dylan? Your hunch?
Dylan: Okay, can you just at least question the guy, see where he's been the last couple hours?
Avery: If we can't place Joe on the balcony, there's no proof he violated his restraining order.
Paul: Koperski's knocking on doors. He's gonna find out if anyone saw or heard anything. In the meantime, I have increased patrols in the neighborhood. But if this happens again, call the police. You should have done it the first time.
Avery: Yes, I understand. Thank you, Paul.
Paul: I'll be in touch.
[Door closes]
Avery: All right. I'm sorry. I got us both in trouble with Paul now. I-I should have known not to get you involved with this, especially after the last time, when Austin came after me.
Dylan: Why did you involve me?
Avery: You were the first person that came into my mind. I'm sorry.
Dylan: No, no. You don't have to apologize. But next time, if there is a next time, you know, you should just call the cops. They might get here faster.
Avery: Yeah, I know. I know. I will. You're right. Well, you should probably -- you should get home to Sharon. Now you definitely should.
Dylan: Take care of yourself.
Avery: I plan to.
[Door closes]
Lily: You know what? Other people may think you're a bad guy, but I don't.
Joe: Oh, since when?
Lily: Oh, since about one Moscow mule ago. [Chuckles] I guess you're not such a sleaze after all.
Joe: Wow. Such flattery.
Lily: Well, I did have my doubts about you. I did at first.
Joe: A little harmless flirting here and there.
Lily: You know, I even told Cane about that. And he didn't even care. I mean, that should have been my first sign right there, because most men would have had some sort of reaction. But no, not Cane.
Joe: Well, we've got a history and --
Lily: It's like all he cares about now is just being Lauren's little boy toy. It's like I don't even exist. Well, you know what? To hell with him.
Joe: You know, we should probably just keep it down.
Lily: No! No, you know what? My entire life, I have always done what is right. I have always been little miss goody-two-shoes. Well, not anymore, right? I'm gonna stand up for myself and fight for what is mine. That's what you said. Right?
Neil: [Clears throat] Hi, Joe.
Lily: Hello.
Neil: Hi. Excuse me one second.
Lily: Uh-oh.
Neil: Um, Lily, cocktails during business hours?
Lily: Well, yes, father. I like to keep my customers happy, not to mention myself.
Neil: Yeah?
Lily: Mm-hmm.
Neil: Happiness ain't at the bottom of that glass. You know what alcohol did to me and my life, right? Where's Cane?
Lily: Cane? Oh, um, Cane's upstairs. He's sleeping here tonight. I think he wants to be closer to his mistress.
Neil: What?
Joe: You know, if you two would excuse me, I need to make a phone call.
Lily: Oh, don't go. [Chuckles]
Neil: Yeah, yeah. Uh, what -- hey. What are you talking about? And -- and you should lay off that.
Lily: Uh, why don't you stop telling me what to do? Thank you.
Neil: Lily, does this have anything to do with Cane lying about Hilary and Devon's affair?
Lily: No, this has to do with a new lie, a little lie that Cane shared a lip lock with Lauren Fenmore.
Victor: You need to come home.
Phyllis: Is this what it's come down to now, you keeping things from me? Your own wife being the last to know? Because, see, if it is, I don't want any part of it. I refuse to become the long-suffering Nikki Newman, drinking herself so numb that she didn't have to think about what her husband's doing.
Marco: One mistake. That's all it was.
Phyllis: That's all? How could you possibly have a son that you never told me about? You know that I would have been discreet. Yes, I can be emotional, but I know how to keep my mouth shut when it's important for the man that I love. Have I not proven that over and over to you?
Marco: Of course, you have. And, yes, I should have leveled with you, but...things were so crazy between my family and the business, all the infighting and jealousy. It was like a minefield.
Phyllis: You know, you have always been able to deal with your family. They haven't changed. The one thing that is different here is you. And I want to know why.
Marco: You know I have a whole new perspective on things.
Phyllis: After you emerged from the rubble?
Marco: Yeah, it made me look at my family from a whole new point of view, and frankly, what I saw was a convoluted mess.
Phyllis: Really? [Chuckles] Am I a part of that mess?
Marco: No, you are what saves me from that mess.
Phyllis: Oh, please. I can't save you when I know so little about you.
Marco: Come on. You know more about me than anyone else.
Phyllis: No, I don't. I don't know how you felt when you found out about your son. I don't know how you feel about him now, what it's like to work alongside him, to look at him, to talk to him. I don't know about his mother, how you got involved with her, what she's like, if you still think about her.
Marco: I think about you.
Phyllis: Okay, well, then you're gonna have to talk to me. I had to dig that story out of you about Manuela, the great love of your life. How did I not know about that? And now this. I have questions. And all you seem to do is avoid them. It's [Sighs] Like there is this wall between us that never used to be there before. And it just -- it makes me wonder...
Marco: Wonder what?
Phyllis: You do still love me, don't you?
Nikki: I meant what I said, Victor. I'm not going anywhere with you. If I'm going to continue to heal, I need to stay away from you.
Victor: Is this some more of that psychobabble that they drum into at that rehab place?
Nikki: Well, it may sound like that to you, but it doesn't to me. And contrary to your opinion, I am allowed to have my own beliefs.
Victor: Whoever questioned that? You've always spoken your mind. You've always been strong and independent.
Nikki: No, I am not strong and independent when I am with you. One criticism and I go right back to that self-hating girl that I was when I first met you. I am not going to allow myself to be in that position.
Victor: I am treating you like a queen!
Nikki: A queen who is to be seen and not heard, who is to be subservient to her king and has to turn away when he does things she can't stand.
Victor: You have been subservient? Are you kidding me?! This is ludicrous what you're saying.
Nikki: All right. I'm done. I can't listen to any more of this.
Victor: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Nikki: "Whoa, whoa, whoa," what?
Victor: Don't you walk away. We need to settle this now.
Nikki: I can walk away.
Victor: No, you can't!
Nikki: Are you trying to drive me to drink? Because we can't even have a conversation without me wanting to go to that bar, get a vodka, and try to relieve the stress.
Victor: Then go for it.
Neil: Hey, um, guys, we're -- we're here in a public place.
Victor: Neil, excuse me. This is between my wife and me, all right?
Nikki: Oh, my god.
Victor: You've interfered already enough the way it is.
Neil: I understand that, but I'm not trying to interfere with you.
Nikki: You're doing it again. You are speaking for me. You're dragging Neil into something that has nothing to do with him. This is why I am not coming home.
Victor: Good! [Sighs]
[Knock on door]
Avery: [Gasps] Who is it?
Sharon: It's Sharon.
[Lock disengages]
Sharon: Hi. I-I just had to come by and make sure that the police got here and that everything's okay.
Avery: Everything's fine, Sharon, even though Joe got away.
Sharon: Joe did this?
Avery: We're pretty sure. Anyway, the police have come and gone, and -- and so has Dylan, so...
Sharon: Oh, oh. Where did Dylan go?
Avery: Well, I assume he went home.
Lily: Thank you.
Dylan: Hey. Lily, hi.
Lily: Hey.
Dylan: I'm looking for Joe Clark. Have you seen him?
Lily: Um, he was just here.
Dylan: Really? For -- for how long? Has he been here all night?
Lily: I-I don't know. I don't even know what time I got here, so I don't know.
Dylan: Oh. Okay. Maybe a little guess? An hour ago? Half-hour?
Lily: I don't know. I'm not his timekeeper. If you want to know, just ask him. I'm sorry.
Joe: I agree. There's no reason you should be grilling Lily. What kind of way is that to treat a lady?
Dylan: Well, you're one to talk. This guy's been harassing Avery. She had to file a restraining order against him.
Joe: And I filed one against you, which you are presently in violation of. So, one phone call to pops, and we've got another arrest on your criminal record.
Dylan: Stay away from Avery. Don't spy on her, don't stalk her, don't go near her apartment again.
Joe: What are you talking about?
Dylan: Don't -- don't even try. What were you doing on her balcony tonight, Joe?
Joe: Are you having another one of your episodes, Dylan?
Dylan: You're not gonna get to her, do you hear me?
Joe: Oh, I hear you. But you're not making any sense. And I've got better things to do than to listen to your rantings. Hope you feel better, Lily. Good night.
Lily: Good night.
Mariah: Hey, hey. Don't be an idiot. I know you want to tear him apart right now, but don't. It's gonna look very bad for my mom if you get arrested. I'm not gonna let you hurt her.
[Knock on door]
Nikki: Oh. I'm so glad it's you.
Paul: Well, you called. Here I am.
Nikki: Come on in.
Paul: Uh, so, you finished your stint at rehab. Good for you. I'm still not sure I understand why you, uh, want to talk about it.
Nikki: Well, I'm working the program, and one of the steps is to make amends to the people I've hurt.
Paul: Well, you made it clear that you regret what happened, so, uh... is this really necessary?
Nikki: Yeah, it is. I need to apologize to you sober.
Neil: I mean, come on, Victor. We -- you and me, we're on the same team here. I mean, why are you so upset with me?
Victor: Been a long and stressful day, okay? You just were at the wrong place at the wrong time. It bothers me enormously that Nikki's spending time here in a hotel suite. She should be home.
Neil: Yeah, I get that, but she just got out of rehab. She's emotional. You got to give her some time.
Victor: You sound like everyone else, as if time is the solution to all of our problems.
Neil: Is something else bothering you? I mean, you seemed very preoccupied today at work, and for that matter, so did Billy, Jack, Ashley, and -- and even Victoria.
Victor: Mm.
Neil: I am, as well you know, the company's CFO. And I am getting a feeling that people are hiding something from me, you know?
Victor: Well, I think you're a bit paranoid now.
Neil: And -- and with good reason, Victor. People are tiptoeing around, you know? They're whispering in the corners. They're shutting their laptops. This is all irregular behavior. I want you to do me a solid, man. Tell me what's really going on here.
Victor: There's a problem. It has to do with Jack Abbott.
Marco: You never have to worry about that. Every minute since the day I met you, I have been in love with you. Your passion, your energy, everything that makes you you -- I cannot get enough of it. I crave it. You are everything I ever wanted in a woman. And I will spend the rest of our time together making up for the fact that you didn't know that. I'll tell you anything. Everything. You got questions? I've got answers. I'll tell you about every woman I ever kissed, starting in grade school. I'll tell you about the day I played hooky so that I could watch the world cup, about the day I sprained my wrist breaking a racket in a tennis tournament, how I stole a roll of quarters at the fourth-grade school -- what?
Phyllis: Question. Are you excited to have me in your arms or is that a gun in your pocket?
Dylan: I appreciate that you want to protect your mother, but this is a problem between Joe and Avery.
Mariah: Exactly. So why are you involved? I know that you know that it hasn't been that long since Sharon got her head on straight, so I don't want something coming along to screw it up again.
Dylan: I have no intention of doing that.
Mariah: So what are your intentions?
Sharon: You must feel a little bit better knowing that Paul is looking out for you.
Avery: Well, Joe is a determined man. I don't doubt he'll try something like this again, police protection or not.
Sharon: And if he does, will you call Dylan? Because you know how he can be. I mean, he might go after Joe and then, you know, who knows what will happen.
Avery: Yeah, I've already promised Dylan that I will leave him out of it.
Sharon: Can I hold you to that promise?
Avery: Sharon, you don't have to worry. I'm not coming between you and Dylan.
Sharon: No, that's not what I meant.
Avery: He and I are over. Truly, I am not a threat to your relationship.
Sharon: Well, I better get home, see if Dylan's there. I'm glad that no harm was done with Joe.
Avery: Yeah.
Sharon: [Gasps]
Avery: What do you want? You didn't get your fill before, looking through my window?
Joe: We need to talk.
Sharon: If Avery's okay with it, then fine, but I'm staying. And I have 911 loaded up and ready to go on my phone, so don't try anything.
Avery: Come in. But I want Sharon to stay.
Joe: Fine. I just wanted to apologize about your scare earlier.
Avery: You mean you're sorry that I caught you watching?
Joe: You honestly think that I would do that?
Sharon: If you didn't, then how do you know about it?
Joe: From Dylan. He came to the GCAC to ream me about it. No, relax. He didn't harm me physically, and I didn't call the police for breaking his restraining order, but --
Avery: You didn't?
Joe: I came here instead because I'm concerned. As much as you've tried to push me out of your life, I still care about you, Avery.
Avery: Is that a new trench coat?
Joe: I got it a couple years ago. I only wear it when it rains.
Avery: Yeah? You got a hat to go with it?
Joe: Why are you asking me this?
Avery: No reason. You've seen that I'm okay. Now you can leave.
Joe: I'm not finished with our conversation.
Avery: Yes, you are.
Sharon: You heard her.
Joe: Look, I'm just concerned about your wellbeing.
Sharon: So am I. You have three seconds to leave. One. Two.
Joe: Look, relax, okay? I'm leaving.
Avery: [Sighs] Thank you for standing up to him.
Sharon: Dylan's on your side, and so am I.
Dylan: Uh, my intentions. I haven't heard that question in a long time.
Mariah: And the answer is...?
Dylan: The answer is my intentions towards your mom are between her and me.
Mariah: Not good enough, see, 'cause Sharon's overnight visits with faith depend on you. Actually, everything depends on you -- her job, her stability, her relationship with Noah.
Dylan: What about her relationship with you?
Mariah: I would very much like for things to continue the way that they've been going, so that means nothing that might cause Sharon to spiral out of control. Which means you not leading her on. So, steer clear of Joe and Avery.
Dylan: Well, I'll take that into account.
Mariah: Good. 'Cause I'm gonna be watching you.
Nikki: Even though I hadn't been drinking the night of the accident, I-I still covered for Neil. No, that's not right. I didn't cover. I lied. And that only made things more difficult for you and Christine to find the truth and find justice. In trying to protect one friend, I ended up hurting two others very badly. God knows if I could do it again, I-I would -- I would change so many things. But...I'm afraid all I have to offer you is my sincerest apology. And I'd like to offer that to Christine, too, in the hope that it will help you both to heal.
Paul: I hope so, too, Nikki. I hope so.
Neil: So, what's going on? Is it the merger? Has Jack been giving you trouble?
Victor: I think he's trying to make a move on the company.
Neil: A takeover?
Victor: That and maybe more than that.
Neil: What else is there to take?
Victor: My life. Jack may try to kill me.
Phyllis: Since when do you carry a gun?
Marco: Since I found it in Victor's drawer. I kept it as a precautionary measure.
Phyllis: What is going on?!
Marco: Victor thinks I'm trying to pull a fast one on him.
Phyllis: Are you?! Don't you mess with me. I want a straight answer this time.
Marco: Yes, yes. I do have a plan to overthrow the old goat. But he's on to me. And I think I may have gone too far with him.
Phyllis: Meaning?! What are you talking about?
Marco: I think Victor may try to kill me.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Kyle: Next time, you can get Bingham to do your dirty work for you.
Marco: Gabe is not my son.
Victor: We're dealing with a dangerous maniac. He's killed three people, so you all stay out of it.
Jack: Calling Jabot is our only option. Give me the phone!
