Episode # 10687 ~ Chelsea is suspicious of Adam's motives; Victor's plan gets out of control.

Provided By Suzanne

Nick: That does not look like the face of a woman who's about to be set free.

Sage: Well, I just -- I just want to make sure Dr. Greene's not sending me home too soon.

Nick: That's why they're running all those final tests.

Sage: I know. It just feels a little rushed, don't you think? I mean, I don't want to get home and something goes wrong. I don't want to lose my baby.

Nick: Look, you heard the doctor. You and little jabberwocky there are gonna be just fine. You're just anxious. That's all. I'm gonna go find out what the hold-up is.

Sage: Thank you.

Nick: [As terminator] I'll be back.

Sage: [Laughs] Ow.

Nick: Stop laughing.

[Door opens]

[Door closes]

Sage: [Sighs] Baby, baby.

[Door opens]

Victor: Well, hello, Sage. How are you?

Sage: Hello. I'm fine. I think I'm going home today.

Victor: Oh, yeah? And where exactly is home?

Phyllis: Thank god. Thank god that you're okay. You're here and you're fine.

Marco: Was I supposed to look bad?

Phyllis: No. Come on. Sit down.

Marco: What's going on here? What's with the hero's welcome?

Phyllis: [Sighs] Just silly. I had this dream last night. It just -- it felt like a premonition.

Marco: A premonition of what?

Phyllis: You were in this horrible accident.

Marco: Did I survive?

Phyllis: No.

Marco: Okay, well, it was just a dream. And I'm here, alive and well. And the only thing on my agenda is breakfast and a meeting. So unless they poison the orange juice...

Phyllis: This isn't funny. I-I-I was actually nervous that you weren't gonna show up.

Marco: Honey, I was four minutes late.

Phyllis: I know. I just... I-I don't know if I could take another scare like your car accident.

Marco: Listen to me. I'm indestructible.

Phyllis: Good. 'Cause I don't know what I would ever do without you.

Marco: I think you're stuck with me.

[Cell phone rings]

Marco: Hey. Got some news for me?

The cargo ship I was tracking blew up.

Marco: I'm not sure I heard you correctly. Could you say that again?

It exploded. No survivors. Jack Abbott is dead.

Chelsea: Hey.

Adam: Hey. So, Amanda and, uh, Connor are off to his workout or whatever it is toddlers do at the gym.

Chelsea: [Chuckles] They toddle.

Adam: Okay.

Chelsea: That's what they do 24 hours a day. Which is why I am so glad Amanda came back to work for me.

Adam: Do you trust her? I mean, she's good with Connor?

Chelsea: Oh, yeah, she's great with him.

Adam: Good. Good. Yeah, no, I'm sure she is. It's just, you know, she looked at me kind of funny when I asked her if he was buckled in safely this morning.

Chelsea: Maybe she was looking at you funny because you spent the night here last night.

Adam: Maybe. Maybe you're right. But, um, you care what your nanny thinks?

Chelsea: I care what Connor thinks. You know, he's gonna be aware of what's going on before too long.

Adam: Yeah, well, I would have, you know, hoped to have won him over by then.

Chelsea: Oh, really? Do you think it's that easy?

Adam: I won you over, didn't I?

Chelsea: [Chuckles]

Adam: Didn't I? Let's take this upstairs.

Chelsea: No, we can't.

Adam: We have time. Come on.

Chelsea: We can't. Jack called, and he wants to meet with us this morning. But he said he didn't want to do it at the office. He said it had to be in private.

Adam: Really? Hmm. Wonder what's on his mind.

Kyle: Did you hear more from dad about this top-secret meeting? He left the house --

Billy: Eh, eh. Shh.

[Loud music playing]

Billy: Jack said he would text us the location of the meeting just before he wants us there.

Kyle: Right. Okay, I am all for supporting team Abbott, but is all this James bond stuff really necessary?

Billy: Have you ever met Victor Newman?

Kyle: Dad did tell me he, uh, bugged the lab when you guys were working on hex.

Billy: Yeah. And he also sent that guy, Tobias gray, here to spy on us.

Kyle: Well, I guess we can't be too careful.

Billy: No, we can't, not if we don't want Victor --

Victoria: This music's a little loud. What didn't you want me to hear?

Sage: Mr. Newman, it's nice of you to come check on me, but I'm sure you have many other things to take care of -- your family, your business.

Victor: The child you're carrying is my family.

Sage: That's right. And the doctor said that he or she made it out of surgery just fine.

Victor: Well, I'm so glad to hear that.

Sage: So am I. So, uh, if there's nothing else, then I --

Victor: Well, you haven't told me, are you planning to move into Nicholas' house or...?

Sage: Oh, no, I'm gonna stay at my suite at the club.

Victor: Oh, really? Well, uh, I think it's very wise of you and Nicholas not to rush into things, but the notion of my grandchild's mother staying in a hotel suite, that doesn't sit well with me.

Sage: It's very comfortable, actually.

Victor: Yeah? I've arranged to, uh, get a house for you.

Sage: What?

Victor: Yeah. It's near the ranch. Off the property, but near the ranch.

Sage: I wasn't expecting any of that, so --

Victor: Well, I think you'll be very comfortable there.

Sage: That's very kind of you but completely unnecessary, Mr. Newman.

Victor: You have gone through so much stress physically and emotionally. I think, um, it'd be a very nice place for you to stay. And, I mean, it's fully staffed. They'll take care of you morning, noon, and night.

Sage: A staff?

Victor: Yes. I think you deserve that.

Sage: Why? Why would you do this for me?

Victor: Because you're carrying my grandchild. And I take care of my own.

Billy: Yeah, I was just filling Kyle in on the new subscription idea.

Victoria: Oh.

Billy: I thought we could use the music for cross-promotional purposes.

Victoria: I think we should probably put together product packages before we start thinking about promotion.

Billy: But it's a really great song, don't you think?

Victoria: I wouldn't know. I just know it was really loud.

Kyle: It's one of those songs that you really got to crank up the volume to get the full effect, you know. The louder, the better.

Victoria: Do you guys really think I'm falling for this?

Adam: So, what did Jack say about this clandestine meeting, anyway?

Chelsea: He said he didn't want to get into details over the phone. Said to wait here for further instructions.

Adam: Really?

Chelsea: Mm-hmm.

Adam: Why is he talking in code all of a sudden? Did you notice that?

Chelsea: Oh, my god. I hope Victoria didn't get to him.

Adam: What do you mean, get to him?

Chelsea: Well, Jack -- he loves my new kids' line and men's line. He said he wanted to go straight into production. I bet Victoria is trying to convince him it's a bad idea.

Adam: Why would she do that?

Chelsea: To get back at me.

Adam: Well, hold -- get back at you for what?

Chelsea: Well, she was upset that I didn't do backflips over her and Billy's subscription idea. They wanted to apply it to my line and I said absolutely not. This is probably Victoria's way of retaliating.

Adam: Yeah, I don't know if Victoria would do anything to damage the company just to get back at you.

Chelsea: Yeah, she loves seeing me insecure and putting dents in my confidence. This is exactly the way she wants me -- on shaky ground.

Adam: Let me ask you a question. Is it Victoria that makes you second-guess yourself or is it that -- that little voice in the back of your head that's always trying to defeat you, telling you that you're nothing more than a grifter or a con? Look around you. Look what you've done. This is amazing. You should have confidence in that and in your talent. Trust in that. Believe in yourself.

Chelsea: How do you know me so well?

Adam: Well, in case you haven't noticed, I've made it, um, sort of my job to get to know you so well. All of you. Come here.

Marco: I'm gonna have to take this call.

Phyllis: Okay. Be careful.

Marco: I told you I wanted him brought to me. What the hell happened? What caused this explosion?

No idea. But the boat's in a million pieces.

Marco: I sent that thief $10 million. I had it wired to his account.

[Chuckles] Kiss that money goodbye.

Marco: Like hell I will. You get access to that account or you can kiss this world goodbye.

Phyllis: Who died?

Marco: Why would you ask me if someone died?

Phyllis: Well, I didn't mean it literally.

Marco: Why did you say it that way?

Phyllis: I saw you on the phone over there. You looked like you'd lost your best friend.

Marco: Oh, that was -- that was business. I had a deal go south.

Phyllis: I'm sorry. I guess I'm just still upset from that dream I had.

Marco: Oh, baby, it was a dream.

Phyllis: I know, I know. But I just can't get it out of my mind. It felt so real.

Marco: Dreams are symbolic. You were probably thinking about Avery and how scared and helpless you felt when she was missing.

Phyllis: You think so?

Marco: Yeah, absolutely. Avery is safe, I'm safe. Everybody's gonna be fine.

Phyllis: Good. Because after everything you and I have been through, honey, I don't know what I would do without you if anything happened to you.

Marco: You don't have to worry about that at all. It's a new beginning for us.

Phyllis: It is?

Marco: I just mean I want every day to be a fresh start of something exciting and new for us.

Summer: Mom. Hi. I got your mesSage. They found aunt Avery? She's okay?

Phyllis: Yes.

Summer: Wh-what happened? Where was she?

Marco: You know what? I will leave you two.

Phyllis: Where you off to?

Marco: I got that meeting I told you about. See you at home.

Phyllis: [Sighs]

Billy: It's like I said. I was just running the subscription idea by Kyle.

Victoria: Good. Well, since Billy filled you in on the proposal, why don't you tell me what you think?

Billy: You know, I don't think he had enough time to formulate an opinion, Vick.

Victoria: I'm not asking for a 20-page thesis. I just want to know what he thinks, good idea or bad.

Kyle: The subscription thing. Uh, it...could be good.

Victoria: But?

Kyle: But, uh, it seems like the packages you're proposing are favoring Newman's old and established products at the expense of Jabot's new and innovative ones.

Victoria: We chose items that we thought had the potential to do well in a targeted consumer demographic.

Kyle: Right, and Newman products just happened to outnumber Jabot's two to one?

Victoria: In this particular sales model, yes.

Kyle: Yeah, see, it looks like an excuse to, uh, promote your brand over ours.

Victoria: You think I'm trying to sabotage Jabot?

Billy: No, no, of course he doesn't. He knows that Newman and Jabot are now one and the same. Don't you, Kyle?

Kyle: She asked for my quick opinion. I was just giving it to her.

Victoria: Well, you're wrong. I don't want one product to outsell another product. I want all of our cosmetics to sell well. It doesn't matter what company made those products. Because, like Billy said, we're all on the same page. You still are backing the merger, aren't you?

[Cell phones chime]

Victoria: This something that I should know about?

Billy: Yeah, um, sorry, it's a text from Jack. Um, it's an update on Ashley. She's doing better, but we need to make sure we give her her rest.

Kyle: Right.

Billy: Yeah.

Victoria: Well, I'm glad she's doing okay.

Billy: Yeah. Me, too. Listen, I've got a meeting upstairs with a designer. Evidently they're redoing the office. Part of the new look, so...

Victoria: I should probably come with you. There's some of the staff I haven't met yet.

Billy: You know, I would really like that, but, um, I was hoping that you could fill Kyle in on the subscription idea a little bit more. Maybe if he heard your perspective, he'd be more on board.

Kyle: [Chuckles] [Clears throat]

Sage: Like I said, I-I appreciate the offer, but...

Victor: I'll have your things moved in before you leave the hospital.

Sage: Wow. It sounds like I'm not gonna be given a choice in this matter, huh?

Victor: It's a very comfortable place to live in. Trust me.

[Door opens]

Nick: What's going on?

Sage: Hi, nick. Uh, your father was just making a very generous offer, and I said that I was grateful but I had to decline.

Nick: Huh. Look at that. What are you up to?

Sage: It's all right. He's just trying to help.

Nick: He always is.

Victor: You think about my offer, all right, and let me know.

Sage: Mr. Newman, I have enough money from my salary at the underground and my inheritance coming from the Bingham estate. I'll be able to take care of myself and my baby.

Victor: I understand that. I just want to make sure that you live in a comfortable place.

Sage: Well, that's very sweet, but nick has already spoken to someone about finding a house for me.

Victor: Okay. Well, if there's anything else you need --

Nick: If there is, then I will take care of it.

Victor: I'm sure you will. All right. Nice to see you.

Sage: You, too.

Nick: The nurse was looking for Dr. Greene. I'm gonna go and, uh -- I know -- uh, see what's up.

Sage: All right.

[Door opens]

Victor: I'm impressed. A lot of women would have jumped at my offer.

Nick: What was that? Some kind of test?

Victor: You cannot blame me for wanting to protect what's mine.

Nick: What's going on? Is this because what's happening with mom? You can't do anything for her, so you're doubling down with the rest of us?

Victor: No, I'm just making sure that my family is safe.

Nick: Safe from what?

Victor: From anyone who might want to come after them.

Nick: I am so sorry about that.

Sage: Yeah, he is not shy about speaking his mind, is he?

Nick: You ain't see nothing yet.

Sage: [Laughs]

Nick: I actually think my dad was pretty vulnerable today.

Sage: That was vulnerable?

Nick: For him, yeah. Yeah. But you held your own.

Sage: Yeah, well, it's not the first overbearing man I've ever dealt with, so...

Nick: You know, all that stuff about you saying you wanted to support yourself, this baby, on your own...

Sage: Did you like that?

Nick: Great to hear.

Sage: [Chuckles]

Nick: But, uh... you know I'm not going anywhere, right? You're not in this alone.

Sage: I know that.

Nick: Good. Got that covered.

Sage: [Laughs] Ow.

Nick: Sorry. You, uh, you want some good news?

Sage: No. I hate good news.

Nick: All your tests came in. You passed with flying colors. You're good to go home.

Sage: Really? When?

Nick: Soon as all the paperwork's done, with one caveat.

Sage: What?

Nick: Well, Dr. Greene said that I had to "make sure mom takes it easy and doesn't push herself for a little while. Okay, dad?"

Sage: She said mom and dad?

Nick: Yeah. You better get used to it 'cause it's gonna happen soon.

Sage: [Sighs] I'm not freaking out. I'm not freaking out. This just got so real.

Nick: Oh, it's real.

Sage: [Chuckles]

Nick: You ready to go home, mom?

Sage: Yeah. But I want to stop somewhere first.

Summer: That does not sound like aunt Avery at all to me. I mean, she doesn't freak out, and she certainly doesn't run off without telling anyone.

Phyllis: It's a puzzle to me, too.

Summer: Didn't she get your text? Couldn't she tell how worried we were?

Phyllis: Well, my thinking is that Joe is really messing with her head.

Summer: God, that guy's a lot worse than we thought.

Phyllis: Well, I always knew he was a creep, but thank goodness Avery finally sees that, too.

Summer: Well, I'm just relieved that she's okay.

Phyllis: You know, I just couldn't get out of my mind the -- the image of her abandoned car being found at concord lake. You know, last night, I had this terrible nightmare that something happened to Jack.

Summer: Mom, I'm sorry.

Phyllis: It's okay. Jack's fine. Avery's fine. Ashley seems to be doing better. Brain surgery? I mean, Kyle must have been really worried about her.

Summer: Yeah.

Phyllis: What? Were there complications I don't know about?

Summer: No. No, no.

Phyllis: Then what?

Summer: Nothing. I'm probably just being stupid. It's nothing.

Phyllis: Just tell me. I'll let you know.

Summer: No, it's just at the hospital yesterday, aunt Victoria and I saw Jack, Billy, and Kyle all huddled together, whispering about something.

Phyllis: Let me guess. Victoria was suggesting that they were up to something?

Summer: Well, she thought they might be.

Phyllis: Well, it's pretty clear what that was. Victoria knows that you and Kyle have been getting closer. She was reminding you that no matter how you feel about him, you're a Newman and your loyalty belongs with them.

Summer: [Sighs]

Victoria: So, you can subscribe yourself or you can give the subscription as a gift, and there's no cancellation fee, so we're hoping that will entice people to try our service.

Kyle: Yeah, Victoria, look, I'm sorry, but I really got to get running here.

Victoria: Loved it that much, huh?

Kyle: It's great, really. I think you and Billy have got a winner on your hands. I just have to go and --

Victoria: A meeting to get to.

Kyle: Actually, I was gonna stop by the hospital to see Ashley.

Victoria: I thought that Jack said she needed her rest.

Kyle: Yes. She does. I just, uh, I have a gift for her, and I want to make sure it's there when she wakes up. You know how it is. Um, so I'll catch you later, all right? Oh, and, uh, congrats on the project.

Chelsea: Billy, what are you doing here?

Billy: I got a text from Jack. He said to come here for the meeting.

Chelsea: The meeting's here?

Billy: Yeah, Kyle's gonna be here any minute. We were with Victoria when we got Jack's text. We didn't want to rouse any suspicions, so...

Chelsea: Well, hold on. Back up. Jack didn't say anything about the meeting being here.

Billy: Well, maybe you didn't get the text. I mean, have you been off the grid for like the last 20 minutes?

Chelsea: Um, yeah, off the grid.

Billy: Well, he sent it out last-minute. He didn't want anybody to get wind of what he was up to.

Chelsea: Well, what is he up to?

Billy: You're not gonna believe this, but he is finally going to overthrow Victor and take back the whole company for the Abbotts.

Adam: Oh. Best news I've heard in a long time.

Billy: Something wrong with the shower at your place?

Adam: Yeah, as a matter of fact, uh, it's the water pressure. It's not great at all ever since the fire. Remember that night, when I saved your life?

Billy: So, is this official? You all moved in now or is this, like, a little sleepover?

Adam: How is that any of your business?

Chelsea: It's not.

Billy: You know what? You're right. It isn't. I just didn't expect it in my face.

Chelsea: Billy, you showed up here uninvited. I mean, if you don't like what you see, that's your problem.

Billy: I just came here for a meeting. I expected everybody to be properly dressed, or at least fully dressed. Maybe my expectations were a little too high.

Adam: So, the thing is, you can't come over and insult Chelsea anymore, okay?

Billy: Would it kill you to button that shirt there, Fabio?

[Doorbell rings]

Chelsea: Excuse me.

Adam: Sure.

[Door opens]

Chelsea: Hey, Jack. Just in time.

Marco: Sorry for intruding into your home. There's a reason I wanted to have the meeting here. And from the looks of things, I didn't arrive a moment too soon.

Billy: Just tell us what's going on, Jack.

Marco: Okay, I will. I need you and Gabe to bury the hatchet.

Billy: [Sighs]

Summer: I thought we were done with the whole Newman-Abbott rivalry.

Phyllis: Well...

Summer: Isn't that what the merger was supposed to settle?

Phyllis: No amount of signatures will ever end the feud between those two families.

Summer: You think it'll ever be over?

Phyllis: No. The crazy thing is, if anything ever happened to your grandfather or Jack, the other would be devastated.

Summer: Okay, why can't they see that?

Phyllis: Well, because hatred is a blinding force.

Summer: You know, honestly, I wouldn't even care if they wanted to fight each other forever. I just hate that I'm stuck in the middle, forcing to choose between my family and Kyle.

Phyllis: I know, honey. But you know what? I felt like that when I came back from Georgia. I was actually grateful to Victor that he finally found the cure that brought me back to life, but I did feel disloyal to Jack. And I was actually relieved that the two joined forces, even if it's only temporary.

Summer: God, I just -- I really hate the thought of things blowing up again.

Phyllis: If they do, you always got me.

Kyle: So, what did I miss?

Marco: I was just explaining to Gabe and Billy that if we're to defeat Victor Newman, they're gonna have to put their differences aside.

Kyle: [Chuckles] And they agreed to that?

Marco: Yes, they were about to, right, fellas?

Billy: Yeah, sure.

Adam: Oh, yeah.

Marco: Good. Then we're all on the same page.

Billy: Okay, what about ash?

Marco: I'll fill ash in once she's recovered. Right now, I want to lay out my plans for all of you.

Chelsea: Okay. Let's hear it.

Marco: Well, Kyle got the ball rolling. Why don't you tell them what you've already done, son?

Kyle: Right, we bought a shipping company with funds from Jabot's reserve account.

Adam: What do we need a shipping company for?

Marco: We don't. There was no purchase. It was a money transfer. $10 million. Our first move.

Kyle: Well, wait, dad, if -- if we didn't buy a shipping company, where did this money go?

Marco: Move number two -- a dummy account was set up in Victor Newman's name.

Adam: We're gonna make it look like Victor was embezzling.

Marco: And stealing from Jabot was his motivation in this merger from the start. Now, here's part number three. I need each of you to find in your individual departments areas in your budget from which we can discreetly siphon money.

Billy: That's pretty slick. And then the funds get diverted into the dummy account.

Marco: That's right.

Chelsea: How do we make sure Victor can't trace the cash back to us?

Marco: You don't have to worry about that. Let me worry about that. You find the money.

Adam: That's impressive.

Chelsea: I-I can't believe how far you're willing to go with this.

Billy: Yeah, I got to say, I didn't know you had this in you, Jack. Setting up Victor for grand larceny and corporate fraud and god knows what all else. This is a side of you I've never seen before.

Marco: Well, get used to it. We're all gonna have to get down and dirty if we're gonna defeat Victor. And you have the most difficult job of all.

Billy: Great. What is it?

Marco: I need you to keep Victoria off our scent.

Billy: Too late. She's already on it.

Marco: Well, then you're gonna have to be creative and use your Abbott charm.

Victoria: Do you hear that?

Victor: No, I don't hear anything.

Victoria: Exactly. It's the middle of the day and there's nobody here. Billy and Kyle took off after they got a text from Jack. Claimed that it was some medical update on Ashley.

Victor: You think they were lying?

Victoria: Possibly. Before that, I caught them together huddled in a corner whispering about something.

Victor: Remember what I told you yesterday, to watch out? I bet you Jack Abbott is hatching something. Have you seen Gabriel Bingham or Chelsea?

Victoria: They haven't shown up for work today, either. What do you think everyone's up to?

Victor: Well, if anyone can find out, you can.

Victoria: Me?

Victor: We both know you can get information out of Billy Abbott anytime you want.

Victoria: Do you seriously think that even if I wanted to, I could get Billy to turn his back on his family?

Victor: Yes, you could. He would fight for his legacy, as you would fight for yours. Newman enterprises, our company, is your legacy. It's in your blood. And you will do anything to preserve it and to fight for it, won't you? Not only for yourself, but for your children.

Victoria: Yes, dad. It is their legacy, too.

Victor: Just remember. Adam is gone. Nicholas and Noah have turned their back on their responsibilities. You're the only one I can count on.

Victoria: Okay. I will call Billy, and I'll see what information I can get out of him.

Victor: All right.

Billy: Jack, I'm not gonna lie to Victoria.

Adam: No? Is that because you've never done that before?

Billy: Oh, shut up, Bingham.

Marco: I merely need you to distract Victoria. You should be up to that. You were married to her twice.

Billy: And divorced twice.

Marco: Okay, the marriages didn't last. The love did. Look, we all know she's the great love of your life and you're hers. I say we capitalize on that for a short time for your family.

Billy: Look, Jack, what you're asking me to do --

Marco: Is no more than I'm asking of Kyle or myself. We can't be totally honest with the women we love about our efforts to bring down Victor.

Kyle: Dad, I'm with Billy. I don't like lying to summer.

Marco: We are Abbotts. We need to stick together. Are you in or out?

Kyle: I'm in.

Marco: Good. Billy?

[Cell phone chimes]

Billy: It's Vicki. She wants to meet with me.

Marco: Well, there's your chance.

Billy: Yeah, okay, fine. I'll -- I'll keep her off your trail.

Marco: Good. I knew we could count on you, Billy boy.

Billy: You have got to stop calling me that. I'll talk to you later.

Kyle: I'll walk out with you.

Chelsea: I'm gonna grab my purse. Excuse me.

Adam: Where'd everybody go? Way to clear a room, Jack.

Marco: They will all thank me in the end. So will you.

Adam: I got to tell you, I've never seen you this confident when it comes to bringing down Victor. What -- what's changed?

Marco: You.

Adam: Right. Me. You and I tried to bring him down once before. We failed miserably. You remember?

Marco: He doesn't know who he's up against this time.

Adam: You mean me.

Marco: It provides us a distinct advantage.

Adam: Well, I sure hope you're right. Because as much as you want to see him burn, I want it twice as bad.

Marco: I'm counting on that.

[Door opens]

[Door closes]

Chelsea: What were you and Jack talking about?

Adam: Uh, you know, Jack was just telling me to be careful about the funds that I siphon into the dummy account for Victor. He wanted to make sure they weren't traceable, you know.

Chelsea: He already told us that.

Adam: Yeah, I know, I think he just wanted to reiterate it. You know, hammer it home one more time for me.

Chelsea: I thought we had an understanding, Gabe. If we're gonna be in a relationship, I have to be able to trust you.

Adam: You can.

Chelsea: Well, no, not if you keep lying to me. So I'm gonna ask you again, and I want you to tell me the truth. What were you and Jack talking about?

Adam: You're right. You're right. I wasn't being honest with you. Uh, Jack was just telling me to, uh, to leave Billy alone. I was embarrassed for being reprimanded by the boss. That's all, okay?

Chelsea: Okay. See? That wasn't so hard. We should get to the office.

Adam: Okay. One more thing. Um... I thought I just heard you say, um, a relationship. Is that what we're doing here?

Chelsea: I don't -- I don't think that's what I said.

Adam: I think that's what you said.

Chelsea: I -- [Chuckles] I think I said, um, you know, we are -- we are taking it one day at a time.

Adam: Okay.

Sage: Don't judge me.

Nick: I'm not judging. I'm impressed. I mean, what you just did to that doughnut, it never had a chance.

Sage: [Laughs]

Nick: That's, like, land-speed record.

Sage: [Muffles]

Nick: Mnh-mnh.

Sage: [Laughs] Well, you don't have to worry because I'm gonna be incorporating fruits and veggies and protein because your father gave me a list of acceptable foods for his grandchild.

Nick: Yeah, well, don't worry about that. You just have to ignore him.

Sage: That's kind of hard when he shows up at my hospital room.

Nick: When you actually have the baby, we may want to think about hiring a guard to stand outside the door.

Sage: [Laughs] I wish you were joking.

Nick: Me, too. But my dad was right about one thing.

Sage: What?

Nick: You can't stay at the club forever. We're gonna have to find you someplace else to live.

Summer: [Sighs]

Phyllis: He will be here.

Summer: Yeah, well, he was supposed to be here half an hour ago, and he hasn't responded to any of my texts.

Phyllis: I'm failing as a mother. You're supposed to make him worry that you're not interested, not the other way around.

Summer: I don't want to play any games with Kyle. I'm just worried that this whole Newman-Abbott rivalry is gonna come in between us.

Phyllis: No, your Romeo is here, Juliet.

Kyle: Hey.

Summer: Hi. Um, you're late.

Kyle: Uh, yeah. Sorry.

Summer: I was kind of worried when you didn't respond to any of my texts. Thought maybe it's because I'm a Newman.

Kyle: Why would you say that?

Summer: I was just kidding.

Phyllis: Summer and I were discussing the rivalries between our families. We're hoping that your dad and Victor joining forces will put an end to that.

Kyle: Of course. Why wouldn't it?

Summer: Kyle, what's wrong? Why are you being so weird?

Kyle: Sorry, um, there's just a lot going on at work.

Phyllis: You know, I'm gonna leave you two to talk. I'm gonna catch up with your father.

Kyle: Sure.

Victor: Next time you ask to meet with me, you better be on time. You got it?

Marco: I have something to tell you, something you are gonna want to hear.

Victor: What is it?

Marco: Jack Abbott's dead.

Victor: What do you mean, Jack Abbott is dead? How's that possible?

Marco: Death is a fact of life. It's not only possible. It's inevitable.

Victor: Spare me your dime-store philosophy. Where did you hear this?

Marco: You're not the only one with sources. Mine are accurate. No question about it. Your rival is dead. wondering if maybe your realtor

Sage: Well, I have been looking, and I was actually wondering if maybe your realtor could take us back to the house she showed us with the big backyard and the open floor plan.

Nick: Yeah, Mary Lou called. That place is no longer available.

Sage: You're kidding.

Nick: Nope. But I've got an even better place. In fact, it's perfect.

Sage: Oh, yeah? What is it?

Nick: Uh, it's huge. Huge, huge land.

Sage: Mm-hmm.

Nick: You know, lot of trees. This big tree in the front yard is perfect for a swing. Fireplace -- it's pretty rustic. But it's homey.

Sage: You talking about your place?

Nick: Well, it's my place, yeah. But if you move in, then it's our place.

Billy: Hey.

Victoria: Hey. [Chuckles] Thank you so much for meeting me on such short notice.

Billy: Yeah, yeah. I mean, you need me, I'm here. I know that hasn't always been the case.

Victoria: Oh, ancient history. We're in a good place right now. I'd like it to stay that way.

Billy: Yeah, yeah, we are. So, um, what'd you want to see me about?

Victoria: Um, Johnny. Um, I wanted to run something past you.

Billy: Yeah? Shoot.

Victoria: Okay, well, I know he's young, but, uh, there's this day camp at his preschool, and it starts in a couple of weeks, and I wanted to see how you felt about him going. It's just for a couple hours a day, and his friend Lorenzo will be there.

Billy: Yeah, Vick, I-I think it sounds like a great idea. It's nice to see that you and I are on the same page.

Victoria: Yeah, it's nice. It's been happening more and more.

Billy: Yeah, it has been. It, um, it feels like, uh... like we're in sync.

Summer: You say nothing's wrong, but I feel like you're hiding something.

Kyle: I-I told you. I've just got a lot on my mind.

Summer: Work?

Kyle: Yeah.

Summer: So, is that what you, Billy, and Jack were all whispering about at the hospital yesterday?

Kyle: Can we drop this? Talk about something else, please?

Summer: [Chuckles] Okay, well, now it's pretty obvious that you are hiding something from me, Kyle. Look, I-I can't do this.

Kyle: What?

Summer: Deal with you keeping secrets and -- and lying to me. Okay, I dealt with that with Austin, and I really thought that things would be different between you and me.

Kyle: Summer, no, look, I would never lie about my feelings for you. But I made a promise to my dad, okay? And it has to do with work, not us.

Summer: Yeah, well, it feels the same.

Kyle: It's not. I swear, nothing is gonna come between us, okay? I won't let it.

Summer: Yeah, I wish I could believe that.

Victor: I never wanted Jack Abbott dead.

Marco: Well, that's where we differ. See, I wanted Jack gone. Think -- it only took $10 million.

Victor: You paid someone to have Jack Abbott murdered?

Marco: Well, technically, Kyle paid someone. He had no idea what he was doing.

Victor: Listen, you stupid son of a bitch. I got you out of the hellhole of a Peruvian prison! You do my bidding! You don't go around on your own and decide to kill Jack Abbott! You got that?!

Marco: Are you kidding me? You set this whole thing in motion. What did you think was gonna happen? That this guy and a whackjob you left him alone with on the island were gonna live happily ever after?

Victor: I don't give a damn whether you know what my intentions are. They are none of your business. You get it? Don't you go off on your own to do anything on your own initiative without asking me. Jack Abbott cannot be dead. He is not dead.

Phyllis: What's going on?

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Billy: This is our one shot at getting Jabot back. I know you want it as much as Jack and me.

Summer: How can we have any kind of future if you're already telling lies and keeping secrets from me?

Marco: Yes, I'm angry. You didn't like what Victor and I were saying, so you go and grill him behind my back?
