Episode # 10685 ~ Victor gives Victoria a warning about the Abbotts; Ashley has a health scare; Phyllis wants answers about Avery.
Provided By Suzanne
Sharon: Dylan, Dylan, stop it, stop it. He's not worth it.
Joe: Maybe I should press charges.
Dylan: Yeah, go ahead.
Sharon: You're forgetting who Dylan's father is. He'll laugh you right out of the office.
Joe: You can't just haul off and hit somebody in the jaw because you don't like what they said. It's assault, Sharon, a crime.
Dylan: Save us the civics lesson, Joe.
Joe: You know, this temper of yours is gonna land you in hot water one of these days.
Dylan: Hey, you want to play victim, go ahead, call the cops. But Avery's the real victim. Maybe your victim.
Joe: That's crazy.
Dylan: Then you won't mind if I check your room to see if she's there.
Joe: Yeah, like hell you will!
Paul: All right, I've got some news.
Phyllis: About Avery?
Paul: We found her car out at concord lake.
Phyllis: Thank god.
Marco: Great.
Phyllis: She's safe, right?
Paul: We found her car, Phyllis. But there's no sign of Avery.
Phyllis: Where could she be?
Billy: Hey, where's ash?
Abby: How'd you know she was here?
Stitch: I texted him. Your mom's gonna want her family around even if she won't admit it.
Billy: You didn't say what was wrong. How bad is this?
Abby: My mom has a brain aneurysm.
Billy: Oh, my god.
Abby: Yeah, she had a seizure last night, and we called the ambulance. They had her admitted, and then this morning she took off without telling anyone. We practically had to drag her here from work to finish the tests that they need.
Billy: That doesn't sound like ash.
Stitch: I think she's a lot more afraid than she's letting on.
Abby: Oh, here they come. Hey, mom.
Ashley: Hey.
Billy: Hey. Thanks, man. I came just as soon as I heard.
Ashley: Yeah. Bet I don't have to ask who told you.
Abby: Dr. Akino, how's my mom? What did the tests say?
Dr. Akino: Well, they confirmed the original diagnosis of Dr. Shelby.
Stitch: Congenital aneurysm in the circle of Willis.
Dr. Akino: Correct. We need to perform surgery as soon as possible.
Stitch: How soon can you schedule this?
Ashley: Wait a second. I didn't say I was gonna do it.
[Footsteps approach]
Victoria: [Sighs] Dad.
Victor: Sorry if I startled you.
Victoria: No, I thought you might be Jack. I wanted to go over some projections for the fashion division.
Victor: You can put that meeting on hold indefinitely.
Victoria: Why?
Victor: I think that man is about to double-cross us.
Victoria: Jack? I don't understand, dad. I thought the merger was going so well. Why would he want to rock the boat now?
Victor: As illogical as that seems, I think that's what he's about to do.
Marisa: I promise you a night you'll never forget.
Captain: You take me for a fool. I know your heart still belongs to this scoundrel.
Marisa: What do you care? The rest of my body belongs to you.
Captain: Let's go to my cabin.
Marisa: After you.
Jack: [Grunts] Aah! [Breathing heavily] Come on. [Sighs]
Victoria: Why are you suddenly so suspicious of Jack? Has something happened that I don't know about?
Victor: Well... yeah, somewhat disturbing news. Member of our accounting team came to me and told me that my new partner inquired about the availability of certain funds.
Victoria: Jack is withdrawing money from Newman-Abbott?
Victor: Well, he hasn't yet. But the fact that he's inquiring is somewhat disturbing to me.
Victoria: I really don't think we ought to assume the worst. I think we should go to Jack to get to the bottom of it.
Victor: No. Don't let him know that we're on to him, okay? But why don't you broach the subject with Ashley, see what she knows without tipping our hand?
Victoria: I would if I knew where she was.
Victor: Why? Where would she be?
Victoria: She's supposed to be here, but we haven't crossed paths yet. She left me an urgent message saying that she wanted to talk to me about hex. It couldn't wait until tomorrow morning. So I called the sitter and rushed in, and she's nowhere to be seen.
Victor: That's strange. Totally unlike her. Where could she be?
Stitch: You have to have this surgery.
Ashley: I haven't said no. I just want to make sure what all my options are, that's all.
Stitch: There are two. Either you have the surgery or you'll die.
Billy: Wait, what? Is that true?
Dr. Akino: Between 40% and 50% of ruptured aneurysms are fatal. Only surgical intervention can stop the bleeding and prevent permanent brain damage or death.
Stitch: The bleeding led to the migraines and the seizure. You can't go on this way.
Abby: Mom, I know that you are scared. We all are. But you have to do this. You have so much to live for, and I can't lose you.
Billy: Ash, Abby's right. Your family needs you, and that includes me.
Abby: And what about all of your work? You have so much left to accomplish.
Ashley: Okay. I get it. You -- you'd prefer if I remain alive, and I'm very grateful for that. I just -- I just want to know if I have all the relevant facts before I do this. Can you understand that? [Voice breaking] I mean, this 40% to 50% fatality -- I don't understand the methodology of those numbers.
Abby: Mom.
Ashley: Okay. I'll do it.
Abby: [Sighs]
Dr. Akino: When was the last time you ate or drank anything?
Ashley: Last night.
Dr. Akino: No coffee or water this morning?
Ashley: No, but you're not thinking about doing this right this second?
Dr. Akino: There is no time to waste.
Billy: Ash, don't argue. Just -- just do it.
Abby: Come on. We need you well again.
Ashley: Okay, fine.
Dr. Akino: I'll make the arrangements.
Stitch: Thanks.
Billy: Thank you.
Stitch: Hey, listen, I haven't had a chance to get ahold of Jack.
Billy: Yeah, yeah, I've got it.
Ashley: [Sniffles] We're being stupid and we're being silly. Why are we making such a big deal out of this when it's just gonna be fine?
Abby: Of course, you will. [Sniffles]
Stitch: Ash, you're doing the right thing.
Ashley: When you say that, I-I kind of believe it.
Paul: All right, my officers were able to start Avery's car, but it died right away, so my guess is it's the fuel pump. We're having it towed to the impound lot.
Phyllis: Forget about the car. How do we find my sister?
Paul: Phyllis, state patrol is searching the area all around the lake. So far, no one has spotted her.
Marco: Sorry to interrupt. That was Billy. Ashley's in the hospital with some kind of emergency.
Kyle: Is she okay?
Marco: I'm gonna go there and find out right now, unless you want me to stay.
Phyllis: No, no, of course you should go.
Kyle: I'll go with you, dad.
Marco: No, no, no, I think summer needs you here with her. If I find out anything, I'll let you know. And if you hear from Avery or...
Phyllis: I'll let you know right away.
Marco: All right. Thanks.
[Door opens]
Phyllis: If Avery's car broke down, why would she not call for help? Why would she abandon the car?
Summer: What if she was hurt, mom?
Kyle: Well, if she was, by now she would have turned up in a hospital somewhere, right?
Paul: Well, we've checked all the ERs within a 50-mile radius. And so far, no one answering Avery's description has been admitted.
Kyle: See? Your aunt's gonna be okay. Just like dad and I were after our accident.
Phyllis: Trust me. Avery's disappearance is no accident.
Paul: We are going over Avery's car, but the officers that found it didn't report any signs of foul play.
Phyllis: What? Paul, of course there was foul play! Joe Clark is the last person who saw Avery alive. Now you found the car but she's not in it. Why would she drive around in a remote area to begin with? Joe either chased her there or he took her there!
Paul: Phyllis, we are investigating. What we are not doing is jumping to conclusions.
Phyllis: [Sighs]
Paul: So until we have more to go on, everything else is just speculation. I will keep you posted as it develops. Thank you.
Summer: [Sighs] So now we just wait?
Phyllis: Joe is involved in this. I know it.
Kyle: There definitely doesn't seem much about this guy that you can trust.
Summer: No, there's about a thousand things that I can't trust about this guy.
Phyllis: How about the fact that he's a liar, he is a cheat, he is a stone-cold manipulator, and I know it. The last time Avery and I spent some time together, we had some words.
Summer: You -- you argued? About -- about what, mom?
Phyllis: Well, you know, about the usual. I was warning her about the jerk. We said some awful things to one another. And I don't think I will ever forgive myself if I don't get a chance to talk to her again.
Dylan: What are you afraid of? What's in your room you don't want me to see?
Joe: It's none of your damn business.
Dylan: Let's see if the cops think it's their business.
[Cell phone rings]
Dylan: Well, there's Paul right now. Hey, Paul. Good. You saved me a call.
Sharon: If you are as innocent as you claim, why don't you just let Dylan check your room? You can prove that you had nothing to do with Avery's disappearance.
Joe: What does he think? I got her tied up under my bed?
Sharon: Dylan? What's wrong?
Dylan: They found Avery's car near concord lake.
Sharon: So, where is she?
Dylan: They don't know. You don't seem surprised, Joe. Why is that?
Marco: She's being prepped for surgery now?
Abby: It's basically emergency surgery.
Billy: Yeah, Jack, I didn't want to alarm you with the details over the phone.
Marco: Who else knows?
Billy: I called Traci. She's traveling in Switzerland, and, of course, she wanted to jump on the first plane, but I told her to wait till after the surgery when we knew more.
Marco: Wow. The thought of something like this happening to Ashley...
Billy: I know, but she's strong, and it's not like this is her first major health crisis, so...
Marco: Right.
Billy: And I was still in high school, but I remember the big Abbott family powwow we had to discuss it.
Stitch: What are we talking about?
Abby: My mom's a breast cancer survivor. You didn't know?
Stitch: No, I had no idea. She's obviously a fighter.
Billy: Tough as they come.
Marco: I have a couple of phone calls I have to make. I'll be right back.
Jack: [Strains] Aah! God! [Sighs] I can't do it. I just can't.
Phyllis: Hey. When has my Jack Abbott ever said "I can't" about anything?
Jack: Phyllis. Oh, god, I missed you. I tried so hard to get back to you. When Kelly told me you were dead, I...
Phyllis: You believed her?
Jack: I don't know what's true and what's not anymore. I want to believe you're alive, that you're trying to find me... [Voice breaking] That you're waiting for me.
Phyllis: The only way you'll know that for sure is if you get out of here alive. I believe in you, Jack. You have to believe in yourself and come home to me.
Jack: Oh, Red, I don't know if I can do it. I... [Breathing heavily] [Inhales, exhales deeply] Yeah. [Panting] [Grunts] Ah! [Grunts] [Breathing heavily]
Marisa: [Gasps] I left the captain drunk and asleep, but he'll wake up soon -- your chains! You got free!
Jack: Okay, we can't celebrate right now.
Marisa: You're right. And I'm afraid just breaking free won't help. There's a guard outside with a gun.
Jack: There's two of us. We can handle a guard.
Marisa: And the others on every deck? And not only that, we're at sea. There's no place for us to go until we get closer to shore.
Jack: Yeah, and the captain's gonna hand me over to whoever paid the highest price. Did you find anything more about that?
Marisa: Yes. I looked at his phone. He's been texting with someone in America.
Jack: What was the area code? Do you remember?
Marisa: 262.
Jack: 262 is where I'm from. [Breathing heavily] Someone is trying to save me, not kill me. We have to let them know. We have to find someway to let them know that I'm alive.
Marisa: Okay.
Victor: Why didn't you tell me sooner?
Abby: It's just been a rough day, but I'm glad you're here. I don't know how my mom will feel, but...
Billy: If ash had it her way, no one would know.
Marco: She's being very stoic.
Stitch: Yeah, took a lot of work to get her to agree to the surgery.
Victoria: I know that Ashley has a lot of support, but dad and I just thought the rest of the family could use some, too.
Marco: There she is.
Billy: Hey.
Ashley: Nothing brings our family together like corporate merger and a medical emergency, huh?
Billy: Hey, you're in excellent hands. You know that, right?
Ashley: Just listen. If anything happens to me --
Abby: No, don't say that.
Ashley: Just --
Abby: No, you're gonna be fine, okay?
Ashley: Just know that I love you, okay?
Marco: Abby's right. No negative thoughts, okay?
Abby: [Sighs]
Stitch: Hey, if it's okay with you, I'm gonna be in the OR. Cheering you on.
Ashley: Okay, I'd like that.
Stitch: Then it's settled.
Ashley: Thank you.
Dr. Akino: You're welcome. Let's go.
Abby: I love you.
Ashley: I love you.
Victoria: Hey. You're being very brave.
Abby: Oh. [Chuckles] Well, Ben's been really great. He's amazingly calm, and, um, I don't know if my mom would be in the hospital if it wasn't for him.
Victoria: I'm glad he could be there for you.
Abby: See, I-I don't get that.
Victoria: Don't get what?
Abby: How you can be so fine with us being together. I mean, I'm happy that you are. Don't -- don't get me wrong. It's just -- I don't know. One minute you and Ben are living together, and then, out of nowhere, you guys broke up.
Victoria: It wasn't really out of nowhere.
Abby: It seemed like it.
Victoria: Abby, the reality is, is that from the beginning, Ben and I knew that it wasn't gonna last.
Abby: Seriously?
Victoria: I don't know. I mean, we both denied it for as long as we could. It's just funny. We started off at a gallop, and then things just kind of fizzled. And, I mean, I guess that's why the breakup was so simple. You know, we weren't bitter. Just like we understood that we needed each other for a certain time in our life, and then circumstances changed, and that time was over, and we drifted apart, and... [Sighs] Anyway, it made sense that this is the way that it happened. And, of course, you know, there was always someone else in the picture.
Paul: Okay, why don't you all go home and I will call you if there's any news?
Summer: Mom?
Phyllis: Why don't you and Kyle go to the hospital, see how Ashley's doing? There's nothing more you can do for Avery here.
Summer: There's nothing more you can do, either.
Phyllis: I'll be leaving soon, okay?
Summer: Okay.
Phyllis: All right.
Summer: Love you.
Phyllis: I love you. So you're really not gonna do anything more about this?
Paul: Phyllis, I can't. There's no evidence. Until I find something that links Joe to Avery's absence --
Phyllis: Absence? You're not calling it a disappearance?
Paul: I know how frustrated you are. I really do. But we don't know anything yet.
Phyllis: You know what I know? My sister did not leave her car by the lake in the middle of the night. And if you are not gonna find Joe and ask him what he did to Avery, I will.
Paul: That may very well be --
Phyllis: Oh, look who's here, Paul! Look who's here! So what do you know? Has he confessed anything? Did he tell you anything?!
Joe: I haven't confessed to anything because I haven't done anything.
Phyllis: Oh, really?
Joe: I'm here for the same reason he is -- I'm concerned about Avery.
Dylan: He's lying.
Joe: What? Are you gonna go off and hit me again?
Dylan: No, but I'll take that Cane and I'll --
Joe: You know, actually, I'd like to press charges!
Dylan: Hey, don't make this about --
Paul: Stop! Stop it right now! This is not the time or place to go through your personal issues. I know everyone is concerned and worried about Avery.
Dylan: I'm sorry.
Paul: Take it down a notch. Joe, as long as you're here, would you mind if I ask you a few questions?
Joe: Do I need an attorney?
Paul: Not unless you want one.
Joe: You know I've got nothing to hide. Ask me whatever you want.
Paul: Okay. Why don't we do this in my office? You need to go. That's not a request. That's an order. Or I will arrest you.
[Door closes]
Joe: So, tell me what you need to know.
Paul: Well, it seems you were the last person to see Avery before she disappeared.
Joe: Not exactly.
Paul: But you did see her last night?
Joe: Yes.
Paul: Okay, um, have a seat. I need to know everything that happened between you two.
Joe: Where should I begin?
Paul: How about from the point where Avery found out that you were lying to her for weeks?
Abby: Ben and I won't drift apart.
Victoria: No, I know. I wasn't suggesting that.
Abby: 'Cause what we have is real, and, for us, there's no one else in the picture.
Victoria: I'm glad to hear it.
Abby: So, um, if -- if you need me or anyone needs me or if there's any word from Dr. Akino, I'll be in the chapel.
Victoria: Okay.
Billy: Hey.
Victoria: Hey. How are you doing?
Billy: I'm doing okay. I hear that Akino is really good at what he does, so I'm holding on to that.
Victoria: Yeah, well, if it helps, I've heard the same thing.
Billy: Look, if I haven't told you, um, I'm really grateful that you're here. You're just... "you're amazingly calm."
Victoria: You overheard Abby and me.
Billy: [Chuckles] Well, I wasn't -- I wasn't eavesdropping. I mean, not on purpose. Mostly. But, um, I did hear what you said about someone always being in the picture when you were with stitch. And, um... [Chuckles] Isn't it funny how we both insisted that we were completely through? We were ready to move on, be with other people. But... that was never really the case, was it? And stitch called you on it, and Chelsea always had her reservations. And now...
Victoria: Now...
Billy: Now my sister is in surgery and I'm anxious and I'm sitting here babbling about things I probably shouldn't be babbling about.
Victoria: Well, you know, when Ashley is in the clear and, um, she's doing better, then we can get together sometime. You can babble all you want. You can babble till the cows come home. But we should probably keep our thoughts on her right now.
Billy: Right.
Victoria: Right.
Marco: Have you found out any more regarding Jack Abbott's whereabouts?
Victor: I assure you I will.
Jack: We need to create a diversion. I have a plan.
Marisa: What are you doing?
Jack: Steel wool.
Marisa: To keep the mice out.
Jack: Yeah, it has other uses, too.
Marisa: What are you looking for?
Jack: See if you can find a battery. Any kind of battery.
Marisa: [Gasps] How about this?
Jack: Ooh. Perfect. Perfect.
Marisa: What on earth are you doing?
Jack: When I was a kid, I was a scout. And the scout leader, Al Churchwell, taught us all a little trick. Used to steal Al's cigarettes. It was a crude trick, but it worked.
Captain: Marisa! Where the hell are you?!
Jack: Go, go, go. Oh, come on.
[Door opens, closes]
Jack: You leave my bed to come back down here?
Marisa: To say goodbye to Marco for the last time. I'm yours now.
Captain: I have more important things to take care of. The man who paid the ransom for Marco just sent this text.
Marisa: "Deliver him alive. I want to kill him myself."
Joe: Look, I don't know where you're getting your information from.
Paul: Summer Newman made a statement. She said that you had been deceiving her aunt about your ability to walk. That had to make Avery upset.
Joe: Look, as I tried to explain... [Sighs] I was working on my walking in private in hopes to surprise Avery of my progress.
Paul: And she didn't buy it?
Joe: No, not exactly. So I gave her some space to cool off.
Avery: You get this straight. I don't love you! I will never love you!
Joe: Avery...
Avery: You get your bag and you start packing! I want you gone by the time I get back!
Paul: Did you leave then?
Joe: Not right away.
Joe: Avery! You're not going anywhere, and neither am I.
Joe: I felt there was more to discuss. We once were very much in love.
Paul: So, um, what else was said?
Joe: The conversation wasn't as productive as I hoped, so I made a suggestion.
Avery: What do you want?
Joe: I want you to make love to me.
Paul: What was your suggestion?
Joe: That I move out. She agreed, so I left, figured I'd grab my things later.
Paul: Okay, did, uh, Avery give you any indication that she was planning to go out?
Joe: No.
Paul: What was the last thing you said to each other?
Joe: I may have made a mistake here tonight, but I wasn't the only one.
Joe: Well, I don't recall our exact words, but we said our goodbyes, I left, end of story.
Phyllis: Call me when you get this. I'm anxious to hear what's going on with Ashley. Maybe by then I'll have some news about Avery.
Paul: All right, thank you for your cooperation, Joe.
Joe: Yeah, no problem.
Phyllis: You're just -- you're just gonna let him walk?
Paul: I've got no reason to hold him.
Phyllis: Oh, really? How about the fact that he did something to my sister, who is now missing, maybe even worse?
Sharon: How'd it go at the police station?
Dylan: Avery's still missing, and Joe is being Joe, so... nothing's changed.
Sharon: I'm so sorry.
Dylan: Uh, you know what? I need to -- I need to close up.
Sharon: Okay. I can do the register for you.
Dylan: Oh, no, I've got it.
Sharon: No, I really don't mind.
Dylan: No, it's okay. Go home, and I'll be there soon, okay?
Sharon: You need some incentive to get there faster?
Dylan: Can you, uh, lock the door behind you?
Sharon: Sure.
Avery: [Chuckles] [Sniffles]
Dylan: [Sighs]
Avery: [Sobs]
Dylan: It's okay. Thank god you're okay.
Avery: [Sniffles]
Dylan: You are okay, right?
Avery: I'm okay.
Dylan: I was so scared. I thought I'd lost you.
Avery: No. No, you didn't lose me. [Sniffles]
Phyllis: Hold up. Police may have bought your lame story, but I sure as hell don't.
Joe: You know, you've convicted me of a crime that may not even exist. Why? You know, I'll tell you why, Phyllis. Because from day one, you've had it made up in your mind that I'm this horrible guy, and you've been out to get me ever since.
Phyllis: You know, that's not true. I didn't have an opinion about you at all until you showed all of us what an incredible liar you are.
Joe: Oh...
Phyllis: And now my sister Avery, god knows where she is.
Joe: I don't care what you think, 'cause I didn't lay a hand on her. I would never hurt Avery.
Phyllis: And I'm supposed to believe that because that's what you say?
Joe: Think about it, Phyllis. Avery and I were married for years. Did she ever once mention that I was violent to her?
Phyllis: We were out of touch back then.
Joe: It doesn't change the fact that she's never said that I was violent, because I'm not!
Phyllis: Okay, I may not have any proof that you did anything to my sister, but, you see, I got this little feeling.
Joe: Yeah, well, your feeling's wrong.
Phyllis: Okay. Then if not, who is it?
Joe: There's another reason why she's missing.
Avery: [Sobs]
Dylan: I'm just so glad you're here.
Avery: [Sniffles]
Dylan: [Sighs] Everybody has been freaking out. Where have you been? When the police found your car, we all thought the worst.
Avery: I didn't mean to worry everyone. I just -- I needed to get away. I needed to -- to drive away. And then my car broke down, and then I couldn't get any bars on my cell phone. And so I walked to the main road, and then I just -- I made my way back here. I guess I should have called somebody, but I wasn't thinking clearly --
Dylan: Hold on, hold on. Okay. Just back up. What happened last night with Joe?
Avery: We fought. It wasn't pretty. [Sniffles]
Dylan: I know he was lying about his ability to walk.
Avery: Yeah, that was what started it, but then it got worse, and -- and I threw him out. But then I was worried that he would come back, and I just -- I couldn't -- I couldn't stay there after his threat.
Dylan: His threat? What threat?
Avery: He said he was gonna tell the police that I pushed him off the balcony on purpose.
Dylan: But you didn't do it on purpose.
Avery: It's his word against mine.
Dylan: Well, I'm sure you could explain what happened.
Avery: And what if a jury believes Joe? There's plenty of evidence that I wanted him out of Genoa city before the accident, and I wasn't gonna sit in my apartment waiting to be arrested!
Dylan: This doesn't make any sense.
Avery: What doesn't make any sense?
Dylan: None of it. You're not the kind of person who runs from something like this. You didn't run when you were targeted for your work at the innocence foundation or -- or after the cooking show when you got the online threats.
Avery: You're right. But in both those cases, I was fighting an unknown person. Maybe I should have been scared, but I wasn't. Not the way that Joe scared me last night.
Marco: We're still waiting for Ashley to come out of surgery. Stitch is observing.
Kyle: What? In the OR.?
Billy: Yeah, the surgeon okayed it.
Kyle: And where's Abby?
Billy: Uh, she's in the chapel.
Summer: Kyle and I have been praying for Ashley ever since my mom told us the news.
Marco: Any word on your aunt Avery?
Summer: Uh, no, she's still missing. I'm really worried about her, Jack, and so is my mom.
Marco: I know. I know. Come here.
Abby: Kyle.
Kyle: Oh, Abby.
Abby: Thanks for coming.
Kyle: Of course. Are you okay?
Billy: Stitch.
Abby: Is mom okay?
Stitch: Surgery went well. Ashley's in recovery. She's gonna need to be monitored closely, but Dr. Akino has every reason to believe she's gonna be fine.
Marco: Hallelujah.
Kyle: That's good of them to let you in there even though you're not on staff anymore.
Stitch: Yeah, doctor wanted what was best for her. I'm just glad I got to be there for her.
Abby: Me, too.
Jack: Yes.
Marisa: So you're just going to send Marco off to a killer? That's not very honorable.
Captain: Honor? Oh, I apologize, your majesty. Honor. How did you think this was going to end, huh? I'm just sorry I won't have the opportunity to kill him myself. I will enjoy telling him what awaits. [Coughing]
Paul: He went straight back to his hotel room? Did he talk to anyone? Okay, you stay on him. I want to know every move Joe Clark makes.
Phyllis: Another explanation? Okay, what is it?
Joe: You know, I have no idea, but there has to be one because I'm not involved in any way.
Phyllis: What -- what is all this double talk? Could you tell the truth if you wanted to? You know what? Stop.
Sharon: Back off, Phyllis. Joe didn't do anything to Avery.
Phyllis: Well, isn't this rich? It's a meeting of the pathological liars club.
Sharon: He's not lying. Avery isn't missing. She's with Dylan at the coffeehouse.
Avery: Joe is dangerous. Dylan, I don't have to remind you that he paid people to beat you up.
Dylan: Did Joe do that?
Avery: It's not the first time. When we were married...
Dylan: He used to hit you? Avery, you never -- you never told me. I mean, all the time we were together, even back then when you were still married to the guy, how could I not know?
Avery: It was only one time.
Dylan: One time? One time too many!
Avery: I was ashamed, okay? I-I-I never think about it. [Sniffles] And I blocked it from my head. Even now, I don't want to talk about it. But after last night, there is no telling what Joe will do next.
Dylan: You don't have to worry about that. I'll keep you safe.
Avery: I know you mean that, Dylan. But Joe has gotten away with everything. He is clever. He knows how to not get caught. And you can't help me. Not now. The only person that can help me is myself.
Dylan: Avery --
Avery: No, I know I said that I wasn't thinking clearly before, but I-I am now, and the only choice that I have...is to leave town. I need to say goodbye.
Abby: She looks really pretty, even like this.
Stitch: From every indication, she's gonna make a full recovery.
Abby: Really and truly?
Stitch: Yeah. As far as the doctors can tell. Yeah.
Abby: [Sighs]
Stitch: Dr. Akino seems confident.
Kyle: Got to say, I'm amazed at how fast this all happened.
Billy: Yeah, me, too. I'm just grateful they caught it in time and talked Ashley into having the surgery.
Marco: When Ashley wakes up, I have just the get-well gift lined up for her.
Kyle: What? You gonna fly aunt Traci in?
Marco: Actually, better than that. I have a plan for the company.
Billy: Yeah? What's the --
Summer: Hey, um, I'm sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to say how happy I am about the way things turned out for Ashley.
Kyle: Thanks. Yeah, so are we.
Billy: She thinks a lot of you, summer.
Summer: It goes both ways.
Marco: Well, when Ashley comes to, I'll make sure she knows you were asking about her.
Summer: Thanks, Jack. Thanks.
Marco: Gentlemen, it is time to overthrow the king, to get Victor out of the picture, to take this company entirely for ourselves.
Kyle: Yes!
Billy: It is about damn time.
Summer: Hey.
Victoria: What's up with those three?
Summer: Oh, um, they're celebrating Ashley's recovery. I think.
Victoria: You think?
Summer: Yeah, no, they stopped talking as soon as I walked over. I guess they're too macho to let me see how relieved they are.
Victoria: Yeah, I guess so.
Summer: You know, I'm gonna call my mom and tell her about Ashley and get an update on Avery.
Victoria: Okay.
Victor: Still think I'm wrong?
Victoria: I'm beginning to wonder, seeing Jack with Billy and Kyle. I get the distinct impression that they're up to something.
Victor: Trust your instincts, okay?
Captain: Rookie! I need your help! There's a fire here! [Coughs] Ooh!
Jack: Thank you, Mr. Churchwell.
Marisa: [Gasps] You set the hold on fire?!
Jack: It's gonna take the crew awhile to put this out. We don't have much time.
Marisa: Much time for what?
Jack: To get the hell off this boat! Go!
[Door closes]
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Phyllis: Pack up and get out before someone really messes up that pretty, little face of yours.
Lauren: I hate not being able to make eye contact with you over a harmless, little kiss.
Lily: You kissed my husband?!
Cane: You want me to sleep with your wife?
Michael: I want my wife to be happy.
