Episode # 10653 ~ Michael catches Lauren with her guard down; Hilary asks Devon for another chance; Nick makes a mistake.

Provided By Suzanne

Devon: The love of your life.

Hilary: I don't blame you for not wanting to trust me. But I'm telling the truth. Pushing you away and telling you that I didn't love you, that was the lie. Wish you could just remember how it was when we were together. Things that we did, things that we said. That was love, Devon. How could I fake all of that?

Gwen: Neil.

Neil: Hmm?

Gwen: Hi.

Neil: Hi.

Gwen: It's Gwen.

Neil: It's Gwen. Forgive me. It's nice to finally put a face to the voice. I-I can't say I'm happy to see you, though.

Gwen: I don't understand.

Neil: Yeah, well, you did a damn good job. Too good, as a matter of fact. Pretending like you were dating my son while he was cheating with my wife.

Jack: Oh, red, definitely, in honor of my sexy wife. No, no, no rag tops. I want the retractable roof. 4.5-liter v-8 with natural aspiration. Well, if you're gonna own a Ferrari... [Chuckles]

[Receiver clicks]

Victor: A Ferrari?

Jack: I always wanted one.

Victor: Will you watch your step? Jack Abbott isn't that flashy.

Jack: Jack almost died. That changes someone.

Victor: Oh, yeah? Not that much.

Jack: Well, you better hope other people don't think that. Jack certainly never would have agreed to merge the two companies.

[Knock on door]

Jack: Come in!

Neil: Hi.

Victor: Hey, Neil!

Neil: I see it, but I don't believe it.

Nikki: We need to talk about this merger.

Phyllis: You have a problem with our husbands being partners?

Nikki: Oh, is that what they are? Because Billy has been fired, Ashley is an afterthought. Everything the Abbott family has built has been thrown into turmoil. How does Jack feel about that?

Phyllis: Oh, uh... pretty well.

Nikki: Really? Well, that's ridiculous. What is he really planning?

Phyllis: As far as I know, nothing.

Nikki: But you suspect something.

Phyllis: Do you?

Nikki: Look, Phyllis, this isn't my first rodeo. Victor's been spouting off things about reconciliation and new beginnings. Hell, yes, I think they're lying to us. This merger could just be a prelude to more backstabbing. And then where will our families be then?

Phyllis: I have considered the possibility that this could be just an elaborate act.

Nikki: How do we find out for sure?

Phyllis: We put it to the test.

Nick: Did you talk to Courtney's parents again?

Noah: Yeah, they don't want me at the funeral 'cause of mom.

Nick: [Sighs] I'm sorry you're being punished for Sharon's crime.

Noah: You know, I still can't believe that she...could have killed two people.

Nick: You don't want to believe it. None of us do, Noah, but the evidence...

Noah: I know. We have to be prepared. Ooh, those look perfect.

Faith: They're my favorites. Am I ever going back to school?

Nick: Uh, yeah. But first there's something we need to talk about.

Reporter: Mr. Newman, care to comment on your ex-wife's upcoming murder trial?

Faith: Is he talking about Mommy?

Sharon: Are you okay?

Michael: Yeah, I just got a little lightheaded.

Avery: Okay, we need to get you to the hospital.

Michael: No.

Sharon: You need to get checked out.

Michael: I'm probably just a little dehydrated.

Avery: I'll call Lauren. She should know about this.

Michael: Okay, okay, fine. Fine. I'll go to the hospital. Just don't bother Lauren about this.

Joe: You're really okay with Avery escorting me to rehab?

Dylan: I wouldn't wish what happened to you on anyone. I want you to recover.

Joe: Thanks.

Dylan: But Avery's still blaming herself for what happened.

Joe: Look, I keep telling her this wasn't her fault.

Dylan: Good. Because I don't want you taking advantage of her kindness.

Joe: You really see me as a threat?

Dylan: If you think that Avery's gonna stay with you out of guilt or obligation, it's not gonna happen.

Nick: Why don't we talk outside on the patio?

Faith: Why'd that man say mommy was in a murder trial?

Noah: No, he doesn't even know mom, so don't listen to him. It's a mistake.

Faith: I think daddy's mad.

Noah: Hey, faith, do me a favor, okay? Will -- will you sit up here for me, please? Sit up here and eat these cookies. All right. I'll be right back, okay? Sit right here. Thank you.

Reporter: The public has a right to know.

Nick: Can you not see that I'm here with my daughter?

Reporter: So you haven't told the kid yet? Are you planning to?

Nick: If you ask me one more question, I swear to you --

Noah: Dad, Dad, come on. Forget this guy. Come on.

Reporter: Bipolar runs in families. Are you worried the kid might grow up to be like her mother?

Noah: Dad, dad, come on! Dad, come on. Forget it.

Nick: You heard him.

Noah: Yeah, no, I know. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but faith is in there, and she needs you right now. You can't go off like this.

Reporter: I am reporting this.

Noah: Don't! Hey, come on, man! Have some decency!

Reporter: I am reporting this!

Noah: Hey, you knew what you were doing! You know --

Nick: All right, this is gonna be a problem, so I got to stay and deal with this. Can you take faith home?

Noah: Yeah, sure.

Nick: I'll try and figure out a way to explain all this to her later.

Noah: Hey, look, we're gonna get through this, okay?

Nick: I should be the one saying that to you. I can't believe I let that guy get to me.

Noah: Are you kidding me? If you didn't hit him, I would have.

Nick: [Sighs]

Noah: Hey, faith, why don't you grab those cookies? We'll hit the road, okay?

Faith: Isn't daddy coming with us?

Noah: No, not right now. He'll be home soon, okay? But, uh, we can sing along with your little princess songs in the car.

Faith: I want to see Mommy.

Noah: Faith.

Faith: I want to talk to her!

Noah: Sweetie, I don't think that right now is a really good time, okay? But we can go hang out and we can -- we can watch your favorite movie.

Faith: I want to see Mommy, Noah. Can I see her? Please.

Noah: Faith, come here. Come here. It's gonna be okay, sweetie.

Avery: No problem, Lauren.

Dylan: Hey.

Avery: Hi.

Dylan: Hey. Going to see, uh, Joe?

Avery: Eventually, but I'm actually here with Michael. He collapsed.

Dylan: Michael? Is he -- is he okay?

Avery: I hope so. Um, I only could get him to come and get checked out if I promised that I wouldn't call Lauren and needlessly worry her. That's a promise I just broke.

Dylan: You did the right thing. I'm sure he's gonna understand.

Avery: What -- were you talking to Joe?

Dylan: Uh, yeah, but I was looking for you.

Avery: What's wrong?

Dylan: Your smile. I think it's broken.

Avery: Dylan.

Dylan: It's just, you know, it's not quite as bright as usual, and maybe that's because you're so busy taking care of everybody else and you haven't made time for yourself.

Avery: Well, I can say the same thing about you. It'd be nice if we could just take care of each other for a change.

Dylan: Tomorrow you're gonna be heading to Chicago with -- with Joe.

Avery: Are you really okay with that?

Dylan: I understand why you're doing it. I'm not gonna try to stop you.

Avery: But?

Dylan: But I miss you.

Avery: I miss you, too. I don't have anything to do tonight.

Dylan: Me neither. So let's -- let's do it right. No computers, no phones. Just us.

Avery: That sounds perfect. Are you sure?

Dylan: There is nothing I'd like better than to spend the night holding you and shutting out the rest of the world like we used to.

Hilary: You were the one who insisted that what we had was real. And you were right. And neither of us wanted this. We couldn't fight it. Do you remember at the fashion show when we first felt what was happening? Do you remember how something changed in the air when we were together? Please tell me you remember. Please.

Devon: At the gym. After I dropped that weight on my foot. What I felt for you...

Hilary: Even right before I was going to marry Neil.

Devon: I'm ashamed of that.

Hilary: We weren't trying to hurt anyone, okay? We just wanted to be together. Do you remember how we used to talk about how it could be when we were together?

Devon: Having a family, a home together.

Hilary: I still want that. But maybe you don't. At least not with me.

Devon: What? What?

Hilary: I want this, okay?

Devon: Then why you pulling away?

Hilary: I don't want to ruin it by going too fast again. This is important. You are too important to me.

Devon: It has to be right this time.

Victor: So we very much want you as part of this merger. You know, it's a very delicate negotiation right now. But when I look at all the qualifications of the various candidates, I must say no one came up as qualified as you. You have been CFO and CEO and COO, and you ran Jabot Cosmetics, and you have no affiliation with either the Abbotts or Newmans.

Jack: You come without a bias.

Victor: So we're offering you the position of CFO.

Neil: Yeah. Guys, thank you. I, um... Jack, I hear you agreeing a lot with Victor.

Jack: He's right a lot these days.

Neil: I need to know how you feel about this, Jack. You.

Jack: Well, I...

Neil: It's funny. I can tell by that look on your face that you're worried you're gonna show up here to work and you're gonna hear smooth jazz playing in the hallways, there's gonna be employees in jeans, and all of that.

Jack: Why would I think that?

Neil: Well, I-I instituted casual work environment. You -- I talked to you -- what -- why are you acting like you don't remember this?

Victor: Of course, Jack remembers. How could he forget?

Jack: Of course.

Victor: My goodness.

Jack: That's some management style, Neil.

Neil: Yeah, you know I was goaded into it. By Devon.

Jack: Oh, right. That Devon is some character.

Victor: He is some character.

Neil: Jack, my man, are you sure you're okay?

[Cell phone rings]

Jack: Sorry. You know what? Um, I second everything Victor just said. I got to take this call. Please excuse me. You've got great timing, sugar.

Phyllis: Hey, you aren't too busy?

Jack: Never too busy to chat with the love of my life.

Phyllis: I was thinking of asking Victor and Nikki to dinner.

Jack: When?

Phyllis: Tonight.

Jack: I was planning on being alone with you tonight.

Phyllis: Just this once. It'll be a show of goodwill.

Jack: Okay, I'll talk to, uh...

Phyllis: I've already cleared it with Nikki. Tonight we're gonna celebrate you and Victor putting your past grudges behind, all right?

Jack: All right. I'll see you soon.

Neil: Okay, Jack. It's just me and you now. How do you really feel about this?

Jack: How many ways can I say "you're hired"?

Neil: I'm talking about you and Victor. Call me crazy, but a lot has happened between the two of you. How can you let this happen?

Jack: You know what, Neil? Priorities change. And my priorities have changed. And seeing the smile on my wife's face this morning was confirmation enough that I'm on the right track. So, what do you say? We'd love to have you working with us.

Neil: Say hello to your new CFO.

Jack: Great to have you on board.

Neil: Thanks, Jack.

Gwen: Neil. There are some things I think you should know.

Victor: Thank you. That was Nikki. Apparently she and Phyllis are planning to have a celebratory dinner. I think it's too soon for that.

Jack: I disagree.

Victor: I call the shots. It is too soon for you to be tested like this. Nikki and Phyllis can easily trip you up.

Jack: The last thing we want to do is send up red flags with Nikki and Phyllis, which is exactly what will happen if I cancel now. Listen, you put me in this role for a reason. And it's more than I'm just as devilishly handsome as Jack Abbott. I have skills. Let me bring them to the table. Everything will be fine.

Victor: You are a convict. I sprang you out of a Peruvian prison. You do as I tell you, and you better behave when we go to dinner. You got that?

Sharon: Oh. Faith, oh, my gosh. Honey, what's wrong? Why is she so upset?

Noah: We were at crimson lights with dad, and this guy came in, just said something to upset her.

Faith: It upset daddy, too. He went and punched that man.

Noah: Oh, you saw that, huh?

Faith: Sorry. I kind of peeked.

Noah: Mm-hmm. Dad was angry, and he overreacted, okay? But he's sorting things out with that guy. It was a reporter.

Faith: That man said you were going to a murder trial.

Noah: Look, mom, I told faith that now might not be the best time to see you, but she just wanted you, you know. I didn't know what to say.

Sharon: Noah, you did the right thing, bringing her here. Faith, um, you know what? It's about time we tell you what's going on, baby, before you hear it from someone else.

Faith: Did you do something bad?

Sharon: There are some people, some people who are very close to me, who think that I did something very bad.

Lauren: [Sighs]

Michael: Avery called you.

Lauren: Of course she called me. You -- you didn't want her to?

Michael: I just didn't want a repeat of what happened last time when you got all worked up about nothing.

Lauren: Stage 3 cancer.

Michael: I know what I have.

Lauren: Months of radiation directed at tumors and who knows what other damage.

Michael: Lauren, I'm fine.

Lauren: The side effects, the millions of unknowns, that's not nothing, Michael! And do not tell me that I'm overreacting. This is the second time you have wound up in the hospital!

Michael: I got a little dizzy!

Lauren: Because you have been overworking while you have been hiding out at Sharon's!

Michael: You're right. I've been hiding.

Lauren: Why?

Michael: Because I'm suffocating! Yeah! I got tired, and I fell down, but I was doing something! I was feeling useful instead of like a damned invalid, which is the way you treat me!

Lauren: I do not!

Michael: It's how you see me, Lauren. You see me as this broken thing. You see me as something that should be pitied, and I'm sick of it. I'm sick of you being all over me. I need some space.

Lauren: What kind of space we talking about? I mean... four phone calls instead of five a day? Okay, two. That is my final offer.

Michael: I want a separation.

Phyllis: All right, we're gonna suss out the truth about this merger and find out if it's really just about backstabbing.

Nikki: Yes, and if that's what it is, we will convince Jack and Victor that it is possible to finally coexist without tearing each other up.

Phyllis: You think that's really possible?

Nikki: Oh, hell if I know.

[Door opens]

Jack: Hello, honeys! [Chuckles] We're home.

Phyllis: Hi!

Jack: Hi, beautiful.

Phyllis: Hi.

Jack: This was a great idea.

Nikki: Hi, darling.

Victor: Hi, my sweetheart. And we have another reason to celebrate.

Nikki: We do? What is that?

Victor: Yes. Neil has come on as CFO of the company.

Phyllis: Well, that's fantastic news.

Victor: Isn't it?

Nikki: I am so glad. He's been through so much lately. I was so pleased that you made that offer to him.

Victor: Well, it's good business, you know.

Jack: The cornerstone of our new relationship. What is best for Newman-Abbott.

Phyllis: Even if it means making tough decisions, like, say, firing Victoria.

Victor: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Why would you say that?

Phyllis: I'm just making the point that Jack had to fire a family member for the greater good.

Nikki: She's just referring to when you had to fire Billy, not that he's the most reliable person in the world, nor is he the caliber of employee that Victoria is. No offense.

Jack: Oh, none taken. Anybody care for a drink?

Victor: Yeah.

Gwen: I had no idea that Devon and Hilary were sneaking around behind your back.

Neil: Yeah. Well, yours, too, apparently. Hey, look, I have to apologize for, uh... for being so abrupt with you. And also I'm sorry that my son used you the way he did.

Gwen: Well, in the spirit of full disclosure, I did know I was a cover.

Neil: Devon? Did he tell you?

Gwen: No, it was Hilary. She asked me to pretend to date Devon so you and lily would stop asking about his personal life. I actually thought he was gay and trying to hide it until I spent more time with him.

Neil: Yeah. Hilary -- leave it to her to devise a plan like that. Poor kid. You know, he never saw it coming. Total manipulator. Hell-bent on revenge.

Gwen: Seems that way.

Neil: You know, Gwen, with a little bit of time and distance, what happens, things become clear, right, and now I see just how badly he was used. He was deeply, deeply hurt.

Gwen: Is that forgiveness I hear?

[Footsteps approaching]

Joe: If I had family, okay, anyone else...

Avery: Joe, we've discussed this. I will spend the week helping you sort through the information that you'll be dealing with so that you can make the best decision moving forward. It's the least I can do.

Joe: Well, I'm grateful, but you don't owe me this, okay? This was not your fault.

Avery: There's no use trying to talk me out of it.

Joe: Well, I don't want you to feel like you need to be involved out of obligation.

Avery: Get some rest. I'll see you in the morning. Okay, I am ready. I am ready to start -- mmm -- our romantic evening.

Dylan: Oh, there's been a change in plans.

Sharon: I didn't do anything wrong, but someone has made it look like I have.

Faith: Who?

Sharon: The person who really hurt Austin and Courtney.

Faith: But why don't they believe you? You always tell the truth.

Sharon: Well, the thing is, faith, when I was sick, I sometimes acted in ways I normally wouldn't have. And I did some things that I'm not proud of, and the police think that now is one of those times. But I want you to know that no matter how sick I was...

Faith: I know, mommy. You were friends with Austin and Courtney.

Sharon: That's right. And I would never hurt them, not them or anyone.

Faith: Do you believe Mommy?

Noah: Yeah, I do.

Faith: So do I.

Sharon: It means everything to me that you believe me.

Noah: Hey, I'll take, uh, I'll take faith home.

Nick: Thanks, bud.

Faith: We all believe in mommy. So we have to tell everyone she didn't do the bad thing and make them believe it, too.

Sharon: Bye, sweetie.

[Door closes]

Sharon: I heard about that reporter. Thanks for punching that guy for me.

Nick: I didn't do it for you. I did it for those kids who are going through hell right now because of you.

Sharon: I know the kids are going through hell right now, but damn it, so am I. I'm the one who's been set up for a double murder in a town of people who are happy to let me fry for something I didn't do. Sorry I tarnished the sacred Newman name. I've spent my whole life protecting it, trying to protect you and your secret about sandy.

Nick: Am I supposed to thank you?

Sharon: How about take some responsibility, Nick! If I'm to blame for what our children are going through right now, then so the hell are you!

Avery: I'm glad you got the water turned off before that pipe did more damage.

Dylan: Yeah, me, too. Plumber said he's gonna fix it as fast as he can.

Avery: That's fine.

Dylan: No, it's not fine, because now I have to wait until he's done, and I was...just really looking forward to our night together.

Avery: Well, things happen. It's okay.

Dylan: Why does it feel so weird?

Avery: Because we haven't spent any time alone together lately. And we save up all the things we want to say.

Dylan: And then you can't remember them.

Avery: I love you. You remember that?

Dylan: Yes. And I was hoping to show you how much I love you tonight.

Avery: And here we stand, mops in hand.

Dylan: Not exactly how you imagined we'd spend our last night together.

Avery: Don't call it our last night.

Dylan: No, I'm just --

Avery: I know, but I'm only going for a week. It's just a week.

Lauren: A separation?

Michael: I didn't know I was gonna say that.

Lauren: And now that you have?

Michael: It's what I want.

Lauren: Well, what about what I want? I want to be in this marriage!

Michael: You sure about that?

Lauren: How can you even ask me that after everything that we have been through? How hard we have worked to get to this place, and you want to give up? Well, no! No, I am not gonna let you!

Michael: You keep talking at me, telling me what you want, what you decide.

Lauren: Yeah, and you've decided --

Michael: Can you just listen to me, Lauren?!

Lauren: Yes.

Michael: The admitting doctor had all sorts of fancy words about why I'm back in the hospital. "The radiation" that and "cancer" this. But what it comes down to is that I am... tired.

Lauren: It's because you've been working too hard. I'm sorry. I'm -- I'm listening.

Michael: I am tired of having to work so hard to hold this together. Yes, people have their ups and downs, but it shouldn't be this constant struggle. Marriage shouldn't be this hard. I've tried. I can honestly say that I have given it all I could. But I got nothing left, Lauren. It's exhausting. I feel that you have so many expectations.

Lauren: What kind of expectations?

Michael: I don't want to be unkind, and I don't want to fight. I just need some room to breathe.

Lauren: You thought you were gonna die, and you prepared for the worst. But it didn't happen.

Michael: It's not that.

Lauren: I know that life seems so uncertain right now and that you're having a hard time with -- with what comes next.

Michael: I'm having a hard time, yes.

Lauren: O-okay. Okay. I'll give you the space that you need. I would say that I would move out, but, uh, you're living with Sharon, so that doesn't seem to be an issue.

Michael: Lauren, that's my job.

Lauren: I have listened. I don't want to belabor the issue. I don't want to exhaust you. So I'm just gonna say good night.

Michael: Goodbye.

Phyllis: I am incredibly impressed with the working relationship you have formed with Jack.

Victor: Well, I'm glad you feel that way. Thank you.

Nikki: I second that.

Phyllis: Things are going so well, you must have had open and honest discussions about past grievances and where things went wrong.

Victor: You bet.

Jack: Of course.

Nikki: Well, I'm sure there must be some built-in protections. For example, Jack couldn't fire the entire Newman family like he did that time when he made Adam CEO.

Jack: W-what would be the point in that?

Phyllis: Payback, for things like Victor supplying Patty Williams with a new identity so she could come back to town and throw a wrench into your life.

Jack: Victor has assured me nothing like that could ever happen again.

Nikki: Oh, and you believe him? [Chuckles]

Jack: You know, there comes a point in life where you don't want to keep playing the same games all over again. Victor and I have one-upped each other so many times, it doesn't really matter anymore.

Victor: Jack, you're so right. It's overdue that we forge a new relationship.

Jack: Onward and upward. And if we reach greater heights working together, well, why the hell not?

Victor: Onward and upward. My sentiments exactly. Now, is dinner ready?

Phyllis: I think so. Please.

Victor: Thank you.

Phyllis: And I am very proud of you.

Jack: You're gonna be a lot proud of me later.

Phyllis: You know, in honor of new beginnings, I've actually gotten orchids for the dinner table this evening. And I am going to let Jack explain the significance.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Jack: The -- the significance? Um...

Phyllis: Japan. Don't act like you don't remember.

Jack: Listen, you're not going to like the sound of this. But there's something I need to tell you right now.

Avery: As soon as I return, we are getting back to normal.

Dylan: Oh, yeah. Normal is so glamorous, mopping up the coffeehouse.

Avery: Dylan McAvoy, you are the love of my life.

Dylan: And you are mine.

[Mop clatters]

Dylan: And now that the plumber's gone...

[Cell phone rings]

Dylan: Oh, I can send it to voicemail. Is it the hospital?

Avery: Yeah.

Dylan: Well, then you should take it. Something might have happened with Michael.

Avery: Yeah. Hello? [Sniffs] What? Yeah, thanks for letting me know.

Dylan: Oh, no. Is Michael worse?

Avery: That was one of Joe's nurses. There's been a change in his transport. They're moving him early. We're leaving tonight.

Jack: The fact is, there's something I've led you to believe about me that simply isn't true.

Victor: Now, Jack, I don't think that we want dinner to get cold, do we?

Nikki: Well, Victor, I think Phyllis wants to hear this.

Victor: Well --

Phyllis: No way Jack is leaving without explaining.

Jack: This is about the secret agenda I shared with you, the one that explains why I decided to merge with Newman. I haven't exactly been honest about that.

Phyllis: Okay. Then what's the truth?

Jack: When Victor and I were buried alive, he saved my life, yes. But something more happened. When we were forced to share that hospital room, yes, we snarked at first, but we also realized we share some regrets, some hopes, some dreams. We both have children we're grooming to take over our life's work. And that changed me. It changed who I am. I don't want my chief motivation to be destruction anymore. Neither does Victor. What motivates us now, what is our chief drive, is actually love.

Gwen: Sorry about that. Extremely bad timing.

Neil: It's okay.

Devon: Hi, Gwen.

Gwen: Devon.

Devon: Dad, do you mind if I talk to you for a second?

Neil: I don't know. You can see that I'm talking to Gwen right now. I don't think Gwen wants to leave.

Gwen: I was going anyway. So glad to see you're doing well, Neil.

Neil: Thanks. Bye. Yeah.

Devon: I know you just saw me with Hilary.

Neil: Yeah, I did.

Devon: I want you to know that it's not what you think.

Neil: No? Hasn't been what I thought for a long time. I thought that my wife loved me, and I thought that my son was loyal to me.

Devon: I'm grateful that you don't look at me with hatred in your eyes anymore. I don't take that for granted. And I know that forgiveness is a long way off.

Neil: Maybe never.

Devon: I just don't want to take any steps back.

Neil: Then don't.

Devon: What were -- what were you and Gwen doing together?

Neil: Well, I just got hired to be the new CFO. For Newman-Abbott.

Devon: Fantastic.

Neil: Yeah, thank you. And Gwen -- I don't know if you knew this, but she works in accounting there, and I am gonna be working very close with her.

Devon: Right. Right.

Neil: And with Hilary.

Nick: You're actually blaming me for this?

Sharon: You were responsible for paralyzing a girl and walking away! I have done nothing wrong!

Nick: So you shooting your mouth off about that poor girl in Austin's video, that wasn't wrong?

Sharon: You drove me to that, Nick! You were threatening to take my daughter away from me!

Nick: It's because of all the lies you told, Sharon!

Sharon: Because I loved you. I wanted to be with you!

Nick: That's the way you show me you love me?

[Door closes]

Nick: By resorting to blackmail?

Sharon: I didn't want to do that!

Nick: You know, you may have convinced the kids you're innocent in all this, but I know better! I know what you're capable of!

Dylan: Hey, don't talk to her that way!

Devon: I'm truly happy that things are turning around for you. I just want you to know that.

Neil: Thank you. I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions about you and Hilary.

Joe: I just heard about the change of plans. I hope this didn't cause you any more inconvenience.

Avery: It's fine.

Joe: So, you ready to do this?

Nick: Why you so invested in Sharon?

Dylan: Look, I just can't stand the fact that Sharon's being judged by mistakes she made when she was sick. I've been there.

Nick: Fine. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Dylan: [Sighs] Are you okay?

Sharon: [Voice breaking] I'm just scared. I'm scared that nothing's ever gonna be okay again.

Jack: I am simply not the man you fell in love with all those years ago. Our distrust, our dislike of Victor was something we had in common and something we shared, then something that bonded us. I don't want that anymore. I can't perpetuate that. And I hope you can accept that my working with Victor is what is best for everyone.

Phyllis: If you can, I can.

Victor: How do you feel about this, sweetheart?

Nikki: Well, um, I'm not under any illusions that it will always be easygoing between the two of you, but I think it's a wonderful start.

Victor: Good.

Phyllis: Speaking of starting, I'm gonna speak to Mrs. Martinez and tell her it's time for dinner.

Victor: Sweetheart, why don't you go with Phyllis, and Jack and I will be there momentarily, all right?

Nikki: Sure.
