Episode # 10633 ~ Sharon takes a no-nonsense approach with Nick; Jack makes Billy take a look at his future; Abby talks with Ashley about Stitch.
Provided By Suzanne
Victoria: What?
Victor: I was just thinking.
Victoria: About?
Victor: Well, I was wondering if you... were happy -- I mean, truly happy.
Victoria: Yeah, I'm truly happy.
Victor: Uh-huh.
Victoria: I have three beautiful children, and they're healthy. I'm working with you again.
Victor: Mm-hmm. And Billy boy Abbott is... engaged to Chelsea.
Victoria: Well, yeah. He's moving on. So am I, with a wonderful man, who you approve of.
Victor: Yes, I do. Stitch is a far better choice for you than that loser Abbott.
Victoria: Dad, I doubt that we came here to discuss my personal life. So why don't we just cut the small talk, and why don't you tell me what this is really about?
Dylan: Why the hell haven't you gone to the police with this?
Abby: I'll tell you why. Because if we go to the police, I end up dead.
Dylan: What are you talking about?
Abby: I don't know. I guess I'm just a big drama queen.
Dylan: No, you guys are hiding something. What is it?
Stitch: Mac, I told you everything. Abby was --
Dylan: You haven't told me anything! And I'm not leaving until I get some answers. Now, are you saying the person who's sending these messages would kill you if you went to the cops?
Abby: Yes.
Dylan: That's what Noah said about Sharon, that she's in danger.
Abby: Unless she's the one sending the messages.
Sharon: If you keep faith from me, I am done keeping your secret. I will tell everyone how you broke that poor girl's neck.
Nick: What are you talking about?
Sharon: Sandra Allen. I know what happened to her all those years ago, right here on this ranch. You took her dreams away. You nearly took away her life.
[Knock on door]
Phyllis: Am I interrupting?
Avery: No. Um, sorry. Come on in. What can I do for you?
Phyllis: Oh, well... just maybe lend an ear, maybe a shoulder.
Avery: What's going on?
Phyllis: Kelly Andrews is dead.
Avery: What? Oh, my God. Wait. Phyllis... you didn't...
Phyllis: No. I didn't do anything to her.
Avery: [Breathes deeply]
Phyllis: Although there were times that I wanted to, yes.
Avery: Well, what happened?
Phyllis: Drug overdose, intentional.
Avery: Oh, my God. That's terrible.
Phyllis: You'll have to forgive me if I can't muster much sympathy for her.
Avery: I wouldn't expect you to.
Phyllis: That woman made my life hell, and I will never understand why people couldn't see her for who she was.
Avery: What? A person who suffered unbearable tragedy and loss in her life?
Phyllis: Spoken like the true bleeding heart you've always been. I don't know why I expected anything different. People don't change.
Avery: I don't know about that. I think people can change a great deal.
Chelsea: What are you doing?
Adam: Yeah, this -- it fell out of your purse. It's, um... it's beautiful.
Chelsea: Thanks. It's from --
Adam: It's from Adam, isn't it?
Chelsea: I took a few things from the apartment I wanted to keep safe.
Adam: That was one of them?
Chelsea: Oh, I'm saving it for Connor, 'cause he might want to give it to his wife one day.
Adam: Sure. I'm sorry about earlier. And -- and I'm doing it again. I was doing it in the car, and I'm doing it again. I'm insinuating that you're not over Adam, and I'm not trying to make you feel uncomfortable.
Chelsea: It's not because you said it. It's because you're right.
Billy: I thought I might find you here.
Jack: Used to feel like I was on top of the world when I looked out that window.
Billy: [Chuckles] Well, that's the problem with being at the top -- there's only one place left to go.
Jack: Yeah.
Billy: Listen, um, Victoria told me about Kelly, and... I'm sorry, Jack. Phyllis does not understand why I feel responsible.
Billy: I think I feel just as responsible, maybe even more so.
Jack: No, you didn't break her heart.
Billy: But I should've known how fragile she was. I mean, I know what losing a child can do to somebody.
Jack: Kelly deserved so much more.
Billy: Hopefully she's at peace now.
Jack: Doesn't sound like you are. Is this about Kelly, or is there something else?
Billy: I've been thinking about...what you said about... marrying Chelsea for all the wrong reasons.
Jack: Oh, no, no, no. I -- I shouldn't have said all that. I -- I'm sorry.
Billy: Jack, I didn't get angry at you for what you said. I blew up because you're right.
Victor: Can't a father simply enjoy having dinner with his daughter?
Victoria: Other fathers, maybe.
Victor: Aha.
Victoria: Mm-hmm.
Victor: In other words, you're doubting the sincerity of my paternal feelings.
Victoria: No, I just know that you're not above using them to your advantage.
Victor: So, what do you think the real reason is for inviting you out tonight?
Victoria: A little wine, a little ambiance, simple light conversation. Maybe you were hoping to convince me to back your takeover of Jabot.
Victor: Is it working?
Victoria: No.
Victor: I was hoping that you'd be on board.
Victoria: How do you know that this will even happen, dad?
Ashley: Hello, you two.
Victor: Well, my goodness. Ashley.
Ashley: Hi! I'm so happy to run into you. So I can give you each one of these before we run out. After the mention we got on "The Talk," hex is flying off the shelves. Looks like we got ourselves a winner.
Victor: I'll be damned.
Victoria: One round of success doesn't guarantee that it's gonna be a success.
Ashley: That's true. That's very true. Except for the fact that I think if your father didn't smell huge profits, he wouldn't have made an offer to buy Jabot.
Victor: Mm.
Victoria: You made an official offer?
Ashley: You know what's even more strange? He actually thinks that Jack's gonna consider it.
Billy: Asking Chelsea to marry me was, um...
Jack: Impulsive? Reckless? Ill-advised?
Billy: I'm not saying I don't love her. I do, very much. My timing may have been motivated by...other things.
Jack: Such as...?
Billy: I guess I wanted to see how deep her feelings were for me.
Jack: Then, you were putting her through a test.
Billy: No, not consciously. I guess I was just worried about investing in a future that may not happen, you know?
Jack: Oh, Billy, there are no guarantees when it comes to the future.
Billy: I know. I do. I just, um... okay. All right. Here come those... three words you love so much -- you were right. I let Gabe get to me. I let him feel like a threat to my relationship with Chelsea, and I just feel so pathetic. I know how that sounds. It's --
Jack: No, it sounds perfectly human, but fear of losing someone is no reason to jump into a marriage.
Billy: You're gonna make me say it again, aren't you?
Jack: Yeah, I don't hear it that often.
Billy: You're right. Marrying Chelsea because I'm worried about Gabe -- I mean, that's just stupid. And you know what? It doesn't matter if the guy's hot for her. It's not like she'd ever be interested in him anyway. Right?
Adam: You're saying you're not sure about your feelings for Billy?
Chelsea: No. I love Billy. I'm just, uh... I'm just wondering if maybe I -- I rushed to get married because --
Adam: 'Cause of Adam.
Chelsea: Well, I -- I tried to convince myself that marrying Billy would give me some kind of closure with Adam.
Adam: And now? Now you're not so sure, are you?
Chelsea: I thought that accepting Billy's wedding proposal would... help Adam's memory to fade in my mind, but, really, it's done the opposite. I feel like -- I feel like I think about him now more than ever. That shouldn't be.
Adam: Okay. Sit down. Chelsea, it's not wrong that you still love your husband.
Chelsea: Adam is dead. I should be able to move on, and I can't. It's not fair. It's not fair to Billy, to marry him, if I still have all of these unresolved feelings for Adam.
Adam: What're you gonna do?
Nick: I don't know what you're talking about.
Sharon: Well, I know how that can be, not being able to remember. Let me help you. We were in high school. We weren't together, but we had been. I wanted to take things slow, but your hormones were in a hurry.
Nick: Yeah, I hooked up with Amy.
Sharon: Amy wasn't the only one you hooked up with. There were lots of girls who wanted to be in nick Newman's little black book, including Sandra. You do remember her.
Nick: Yeah, I remember.
Sharon: Well, you should. She was the only junior you invited to that big party you had on the ranch senior year. Well, what a party that was -- loud music, skinny-dipping, no adults, lots of booze. And everyone was having a great time. The party was hopping until someone broke an expensive knickknack.
Nick: It was an antique vase. My parents picked it up on a trip to Europe.
Sharon: And you got so angry, you sent everyone home... except Sandra. The two of you kept drinking. You even brought out that expensive bottle of vodka Victor brought home from Russia. And it didn't seem to bother you that she was a minor. Well, I guess you were enjoying her company a little too much. Neither one of you wanted the night to end. But it did, abruptly... when something happened to Sandra that changed her life forever.
Nick: There's no way you know what happened that night.
Sharon: Unless I was there.
Nick: You're lying.
Sharon: I never left. I went to the bathroom to wash my face and pull myself together. I was gonna tell you I wanted to get back together with you, but when I went back out to the pool, you weren't alone. You were with sandy. Which was fitting. She was a swimmer. A diver, actually.
Nick: Is there a point to this story?
Sharon: She was good. Not just high-school good. Sandy was getting ready to compete in the Olympic trials.
Nick: Yeah, I guess she was -- she was gonna make the team.
Sharon: Platform diving. That was her specialty. You were teasing her about how high a platform she could dive from. "I'll give you $100 if you can dive off the balcony into the pool," you said.
Nick: No. No, that is not the way it happened. She -- she asked me how much I'd give her if she dove off the balcony.
Sharon: Well, your memory's a little fuzzy, right? Alcohol will do that.
Nick: We were both pretty drunk.
Sharon: That must be the reason why she took you up on your crazy offer -- that and the fact that she wanted to impress you, which she did, with a perfect dive off the balcony into the pool. But then...
Nick: She didn't come up.
Sharon: No.
Nick: I thought she was just messing around. You know, like she wanted me to jump in and try and rescue her.
Sharon: It was a few minutes before you realized she was in trouble.
Nick: When I got her out, she was unconscious.
Sharon: You used CPR to revive her, and you were very happy she started breathing again. And then sandy said she couldn't move. And the look on your face...
Nick: Okay. Just stop.
Sharon: Before the ambulance got here, Victor showed up. The security guards had called him. Nikki wasn't home, and they were concerned the party was getting out of control.
Nick: I was just a stupid kid.
Sharon: And you were about to pay a very big price for your stupidity. But that's not how the story ended.
Dylan: Why would Sharon send herself and you threatening messages?
Abby: You're right. It doesn't make any sense. I shouldn't have accused her.
Dylan: But you did. Why?
Abby: I've already said too much.
Dylan: Those were Noah's exact words when he let it slip that you got a message, too. What are you guys afraid of?
Stitch: No offense, man, but this is none of your business.
Dylan: Something or someone has scared a lot of people, including Sharon.
Stitch: And that's why you need to let this go.
Dylan: Okay. If you don't tell me how Abby's attack is connected to these threats, I'm gonna call somebody who will.
Abby: Who are you gonna call?
Dylan: I'm gonna call Paul.
Abby: No, you cannot talk to Paul.
Stitch: She's right.
Abby: No, you can't talk to anybody. If anybody finds out --
Dylan: Finds out what?!
Abby: That Austin was murdered!
Phyllis: There is another reason I came by today. Jack and I have chosen a date.
Avery: You have. That's great.
Phyllis: Yes, but we're going away. We're gonna do it privately, just the two of us. So, there's no need for a maid of honor.
Avery: Wait. You were gonna ask me to be your maid of honor?
Phyllis: You're my sister.
Avery: Well, I thought that was more of an annoyance than something that had significant meaning to you.
Phyllis: Well, you know what they say about a year in a coma. It stirs up all kinds of feelings.
Avery: Hmm. Like the bond between sisters?
Phyllis: Oh, the bond that can never be broken. Unless one of them tries to commit the other into an insane asylum.
Avery: So you are still mad at me.
Phyllis: Yeah. You know, all is forgiven.
Avery: Good. It seems to be my year for that.
Phyllis: Why? Who else has absolved you of your past sins?
Avery: Joe and I have come to an understanding about how our marriage ended.
Phyllis: You mean that infidelity thing?
Avery: Yes, thank you for putting it so delicately.
Phyllis: Well, that's good. That's good you could wrap things up before he gets back to Chicago.
Avery: Uh, yeah, he's not going back.
Phyllis: Why not?
Avery: Because he took a job here in Genoa city, running a foundation for victims of domestic abuse.
Phyllis: Okay. Well, let me guess -- he wants a lawyer to work with him.
Avery: It's a good cause, Phyllis.
Phyllis: Yeah, but is it a good idea to be working with your ex?
Avery: Why is everyone making such a big deal out of this? Nick gave me a hard time, too. You guys are exes. You get along great.
Phyllis: You know, I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm just saying it's a lot harder when one of them is still in love with the other.
Adam: Have you decided what you're gonna do about Billy?
Chelsea: There's only one thing I can do -- tell him how I feel.
Adam: It's not gonna be easy, but, uh... I think it's the right thing to do.
Chelsea: I just worry that... he might not want to wait for me to get over my feelings for Adam.
Adam: Chelsea, I think if someone really loved you --
really loved you -- they would wait for you forever.
Chelsea: I just worry that Billy will think that Adam will never be out of my heart, that I'll never be able to fully commit to him.
Adam: Hmm. And he could walk away?
Chelsea: I've thought of that.
Adam: Okay. And if he does? What'll you do?
Chelsea: I don't know.
Jack: I get the feeling that your delaying your marriage to Chelsea is about more than what you're saying.
Billy: And I get the feeling you're going to tell me what that is.
Jack: Well, I just think it's interesting that Victoria was the one to tell you about Kelly's death. That had to bring up some painful memories.
Billy: Like how I screwed up my marriage?
Jack: Hey, you and Kelly were both trying to heal from unbearable loss.
Billy: Yeah, yeah. I should've turned to Victoria, Jack. She was my anchor. Now I guess I'm hoping that... getting married to Chelsea is going to get me grounded again.
Jack: I don't think it's fair to ask anyone to do that for you. Have you talked to Chelsea about this?
Chelsea: Talked to Chelsea about what?
Jack: Hey, Chels. Hey, listen, I got to get out of here.
Billy: Yeah, yeah.
Jack: Talk to you later.
Chelsea: Hi. Um, actually, there's, uh... there's something I want to tell you, too.
Billy: You go first.
Chelsea: Actually, you go. You go.
Both: I think we should put off the wedding.
Ashley: It's so nice of you to order this champagne.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Ashley: Unfortunately, I have to cut our celebration short. I have a meeting with Jabot's international distributor. Hex is going global.
Victor: Global. I'll be damned. Well, congratulations.
Ashley: Thank you so much. Don't mean to gloat.
Victor: [Chuckles]
Ashley: Okay. I kind of do. I do. Well, see you guys later. Bye.
Victor: Have a nice day.
Ashley: Thanks again.
Victor: Thank you for bringing these by. They're just... hex -- I'll be damned.
Victoria: You took that very well.
Victor: I'm very happy for Ashley.
Victoria: Really? It didn't bother you when she threw Jabot's success in your face?
Victor: No, because... before long, she'll be working for me.
Dylan: You think Austin was killed because of the documentary he was making on the Newmans and Abbotts?
Stitch: Someone wanted to put a stop to it.
Dylan: And all those threatening messages -- yours, Sharon's...?
Abby: There was one at the cabin, too, and summer found it.
Dylan: This dude is serious.
Abby: That's why you can't go to the police.
Dylan: Okay. So, you -- you and summer found Austin's body. Right? It makes sense whoever's behind it would want to send you messages to back you off, but why would Sharon be threatened?
Stitch: Someone must think she knows something about Austin's murderer, or, you know, she knows something that's on his computer. I don't know.
Abby: She knows because she talked to him on camera. Austin's the one she gave an interview to.
Abby: Yeah, and maybe she had some second thoughts about what she told him. It's not that big of a leap to think that she knocked off Austin to stop him from releasing the interview. And now she's trying to keep all of us from going to the police.
Dylan: What about the threat to Sharon?
Abby: I don't know. Maybe she sent them to herself, to throw us all off.
Dylan: Come on. The person that we're dealing with is obviously a dangerous killer. That's not Sharon.
Abby: Says you.
Stitch: Okay. Whoever it is has us doing exactly what they want.
Dylan: It's time to fight back.
Stitch: What do you have in mind?
Dylan: What's the first rule in war?
Stitch: Identify the enemy.
Nick: I know how the story ended. Sandra pulled through.
Sharon: After dozens of surgeries and years of therapy, she walked again. But she never dove again. She missed her chance at the Olympic trials, her shot at getting a scholarship at a college. Everything she worked for, everything she dreamed off, was gone.
Nick: I tried...for years to get ahold of her. She wouldn't return any of my phone calls or answer any of my letters. I never understood that, because dad said she accepted full responsibility for the accident.
Sharon: Yeah. She claimed she was already drunk before she got to the ranch. But diving off the balcony was her idea. She said the whole thing was her fault.
Nick: It's still so hazy.
Sharon: Well, let me fill in the blanks for you. I was hiding behind the pool house when the paramedics arrived, and I overheard them tell Victor it didn't look good for sandy, and they rushed her to the hospital. And Victor made a phone call.
Nick: To who?
Sharon: I don't know, but he told the person on the other end that you had made a big mess, and he needed them to clean it up. He told them what happened to sandy, that you had given her alcohol, and that she was a minor. He said to tell her family that he would cover all of her medical expenses, he would get her into the college of her choice, pay the tuition, pay the tuition for all of their other children, and he would take care of their family, whatever they needed, as long as no one found out that you were to blame for what happened to their daughter.
Nick: [Sighs] I had no idea. So you've known this for years?
Sharon: Yes.
Nick: Why didn't you say anything? Because if I did, everything Victor promised to sandy and her family would disappear. That and if she wanted to make a deal with the devil, it's not my place to come forward.
Nick: And that's why you kept quiet.
Sharon: You and I got back together, we got married, we had Noah. Cassie came back into our lives, then faith. There was no reason for me to bring this up. Until now.
Nick: So, what? You gonna blackmail me?
Nick: Why would anyone believe you? You don't have any proof.
Sharon: I'm sure I could find an old classmate who would be willing to come forward and admit that you got Sandra drunk. And who knows? After all these years, maybe Sandra wants the truth to come out.
Nick: Why should I believe what you're saying is true?
Sharon: You say your memory's hazy, but I believe, deep down, you have always wondered what really happened that night. Now if you carry out this threat and you refuse to let me see faith, I will make sure the truth comes out. Now, the statute of limitation may have run out, but my lawyer is sure a civil suit could still be brought against you. And David's certain if that happened, the judge would reverse his decision to give you full custody of faith.
Nick: Wow. You really thought this through.
Sharon: David wanted me to bring this up at the custody hearing, and I -- I told him I was sure that you would back down. By the time I realized you weren't going to, it was too late. The judge had awarded you full custody. But then, you agreed to let me have all that time with her. I figured everything would work out. Until now.
Nick: So, if I don't let you see faith, then you're gonna tell the whole story?
Sharon: It's your choice.
[Knock on door]
Dylan: Hey, I came back to... uh, sorry. Didn't mean to interrupt.
Sharon: Uh, no, it's okay. Nick and I are just finished here.
Dylan: Are you sure?
Sharon: Yes. We've come to an agreement about faith. Nick's agreed to let me have more time with her.
Dylan: Really?
Sharon: Yeah, he realizes he's been completely unreasonable about this whole thing. I'm hoping even one day he'll give me joint custody.
Nick: I got to go.
[Door closes]
Dylan: What was that all about?
Sharon: I did what you told me. I was completely honest with nick.
Dylan: You told him about the interview you gave Austin.
Sharon: How did you know it was Austin?
Dylan: I spoke to Abby.
Sharon: Well, I didn't tell nick that I had disclosed damaging information about him, but I did tell him I had it.
Dylan: And his response was to give you more time with faith?
Sharon: Yes.
Dylan: You didn't just tell him what you know. Did you threaten to use it against him?
Abby: What if Dylan goes to the police?
Stitch: Okay. He'll talk to Sharon first.
Abby: Oh, like she'll tell him the truth.
Stitch: Okay, we had no proof that Sharon was involved in Austin's death.
Abby: Maybe not, but my intuition is telling me that she's hiding something.
Stitch: Is that the same intuition that told you I murdered Austin?
Abby: Okay, yes. My vibes were a little off on that one. You're not a murderer. You're just a cheater.
Stitch: Okay. We got to go there? Is that what we're doing now?
Abby: You tell me that you slept with my mom and just expect me to forget about it?
[Knock on door]
Abby: Oh. Hi! Speaking of the other woman...
Ashley: I beg your pardon?
Abby: Ben told me.
Ashley: Ben told you what?
Stitch: That we, uh... you know, we got together.
Ashley: Why would you do that? I thought we had an agreement.
Stitch: Okay. It slipped out in the heat of the moment.
Ashley: What heat of the moment?
Stitch: Well, this is -- oh. It's not what you're thinking.
Ashley: Honestly, I don't know what I'm thinking. So did you tell her that... it meant nothing? I mean, I hope you told her it meant nothing.
Stitch: Yeah, I did.
Ashley: I guess we don't have to bring it up again, do we?
Stitch: Hey, look, I have to go take care of something. You gonna be here for a while?
Ashley: Yes. I need to speak with Abby about international marketing strategy for hex.
Stitch: Great. Okay. Um, see you guys later.
Abby: So, you and stitch, huh?
Ashley: It was one night, Abby. He was drunk, he was very upset. He just found out that Katie wasn't his daughter and that Billy was, and we thought that Billy and Victoria were gonna be together, okay?
Abby: So you decided to cheer him up?
Ashley: We both thought that he was finished with Victoria. That's all you need to know.
Abby: But something did happen.
Ashley: And it meant nothing to either one of us.
Abby: Yeah, I believe that it didn't mean anything to stitch. But there's no way that you're gonna convince me that it didn't mean anything to you.
Avery: Aww. How romantic, the two of you eloping. But I am sorry I'll miss the wedding.
Phyllis: Well, you know what? You're gonna have plenty to keep you busy planning your own wedding and this new job you're taking on.
Avery: It's not a big deal, Phyllis.
Phyllis: Well, I just hope you don't spend too many nights staying up late, working.
Avery: This charity is really Joe's project. I'm merely working in an advisory capacity.
Jack: Little pro bono work, huh?
Avery: Yes, the better days foundation, which used to be run by your friend, Gabriel Bingham.
Jack: Oh?
Avery: How well do you know him, Jack?
Jack: Well, we did some business in the past. He's actually at Jabot now. Why do you ask?
Avery: Well, I got a very weird vibe when I met him about transferring the foundation over to Joe.
Jack: Gabriel can be a little intense.
Avery: Well, he seemed... distracted, actually, like he had never heard of the charity his family founded.
Jack: Well, the Bingham family was involved in a lot of charitable endeavors. I'm sure it's hard to keep track.
Abby: Yeah. Well, you think that he would have actually read the forms I had for him to sign. He barely looked at them. And his signature is off.
Jack: Well, she should see my signature when I'm in a hurry.
Phyllis: [Chuckles]
Avery: Yeah. Nick said that he's changed a lot, too.
Phyllis: Well, you got what you wanted from him, right? I mean, he signed the papers?
Avery: Yeah. I just can't help but wonder what he wants.
Adam: Can't sleep, huh? What do you think about a story, huh? Want me to tell you a story? You like stories? Have a really good one for you. Um...okay. Once upon a time, there was a, uh -- a king. Very handsome king. And he had... everything you could possibly imagine. He had riches, he had... a loving bride, beautiful, handsome, brave son... a future as bright as the north star. And then he made a mistake. He, um... made a terrible mistake. And even though it was an accident, he was afraid that nobody would -- would believe that, so he was forced to leave. Thank you. Forced to leave, and, uh... have everybody think he was dead. And while he was gone, guess what -- he couldn't think of anything except his son and his wife and how much he wanted to be with them. So he made his way back home. And he was bound and determined to do whatever he could... to get his family back together. Now, I got to tell you, that story is not over yet. I promise you, it has a happy ending. Okay?
Jack: You're playing a dangerous game, Adam.
Adam: Jack, how many times do I have to tell you -- it's Gabriel.
Jack: You better work a little bit harder if you want to keep this charade of yours going.
Adam: Yeah? What makes you say that?
Jack: I just talked to Avery. She told me you didn't know a thing about a charity the Bingham family founded?
Adam: Okay. Well, can you tell me the name of every cause the Abbott family has ever donated to?
Jack: I can certainly duplicate my own signature, and my old school friends recognize me.
Adam: Okay. I see. Big brother's stirring up trouble again.
Jack: Everyone is getting suspicious of Gabriel.
Adam: Okay. All right. Thank you. Just calm down. I'll take care of it, all right? Be more cautious, you know? Not about to blow it now, Jack, not after I'm so close to having everything.
Chelsea: I had no idea you felt the same way about putting off the wedding. I'm glad I listened to Gabriel.
Billy: What -- what's Gabriel got to do with this?
Chelsea: Well, we were -- when we were stranded in the car, we got to talking, and... Gabe helped me to realize that I have a lot of unresolved feelings about Adam, and I need to take some time to get over him.
Billy: Did he?
Chelsea: Well, I'm -- I guess I'm glad that you feel the same way about slowing things down. What changed your mind?
Billy: Well... Jack got me to see that I'm rushing in to marriage because I'm afraid of losing you.
Chelsea: I'm not going anywhere. I love you. Nothing will change that.
Billy: Not for me, either.
Sharon: I won't lose my daughter, Dylan. I thought you understood that.
Dylan: Sharon, I do. I mean, you were just so upset --
Sharon: Because somebody broke in to my house and left a threatening message!
Dylan: I know. That's -- that's what you said.
Sharon: Well, you told me you believed me when I said I didn't write it.
Dylan: I do.
Sharon: Then why all these questions? What's changed?
Ashley: What happened between Ben and me didn't mean anything to either one of us.
Abby: Do you know how many times I have seen you get your heart broken? I don't want to see you get hurt again.
Ashley: Are you sure that's all there is to this, Abby?
Abby: Yeah. What else would there be?
Ashley: I don't know. Maybe are you upset that Ben and I slept together because maybe you're developing feelings for him?
Abby: That's crazy.
Ashley: Is it? I can't help but notice how close the two of you are becoming.
Abby: He's my sister's boyfriend.
Ashley: And Austin was your niece's husband.
Abby: I cannot believe you would say that to me.
Ashley: I can't believe I would say that to you, either. I just don't want you to get yourself into a bad situation, okay?
Abby: With Ben?
Ashley: With anybody!
[Knock on door]
Victoria: Hi. I heard yelling. Is everything okay?
Jack: Phyllis?
Phyllis: In here.
Jack: When you asked me to come back to the office... I thought it was to take care of business.
Phyllis: Oh, it is.
Jack: You know, we have very strict rules about romance in this office.
Phyllis: When have I ever played by the rules, Mr. Abbott?
Jack: Anyone could walk in right now.
Phyllis: Well, then you better hurry up and kiss me.
Jack: Um, should we at least lock the door?
Phyllis: No, I think it's much more exciting like this.
Jack: You just love living on the edge, don't you?
Phyllis: As long as it's with you.
Nick: I need to make a change to my custody agreement with Sharon.
Avery: Change it how?
Nick: I want to give Sharon one day a week with faith.
Avery: Why would you do that?
Nick: Because it's the right thing to do.
Avery: Okay. Well, there's no need to put it in writing. Once you do that, it's nearly impossible to go back.
Nick: There's no going back.
Avery: Nick...
Nick: Just do it, all right?
[Door opens, closes]
Dylan: Nothing's changed. I do believe that you didn't write that message, especially now that I know you're not the only one who got one.
Sharon: What? Who else?
Dylan: Abby and summer.
Sharon: Oh, my God. Dylan, what is going on?
Dylan: I'm not sure. I'm a little concerned about your safety. I don't think you should be here by yourself -- at least not tonight.
Sharon: Okay. But I mean, I have ranch security.
Dylan: I know. But if somebody wanted to get around the guards, they could. But they're not gonna get past me.
Sharon: Are you saying...?
Dylan: Uh, I'm here. Might as well stay.
Chelsea: It's too late for -- hey. What -- what are you doing with Connor?
Adam: Oh. He, uh -- you know what? He woke up right after I sent Amanda home. Perfect timing.
Chelsea: And you've been taking care of him?
Adam: Yeah, it's no problem. He's great.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Adam: Yeah, of course.
Chelsea: Uh, I'm gonna put him back to bed.
Adam: All right. Night, buddy. What a great kid, huh?
Billy: Yeah. Yeah.
[Connor crying]
Adam: So I -- I, um... figured it'd give you and Chelsea a little time to talk, you know, alone.
Billy: Oh, you mean about postponing the wedding?
Adam: Well, I know she was feeling a little bit rushed into it.
Billy: Mm-hmm. Yeah, we both decided to put off getting married. But just to be clear, it didn't have anything to do with the little conversation you guys had when you, uh, conveniently ran out of gas.
Adam: Conveniently? Oh, you act as if I orchestrated that whole thing.
Billy: Did you?
Adam: Well, Billy, I'll tell you what -- I don't need to manipulate Chelsea's love for Adam. It's pretty obvious she loved the guy -- still does, as far as I can see.
Billy: Well, it's easy to love a bastard when they're not around. You know, I think over some time, she would've seen him for the piece of dirt that he was.
Adam: Piece of dirt? Wow. You...really hate that guy, huh?
Billy: You have no idea.
Adam: Uh-huh. It's difficult, because as much as you despise the guy, she actually loved him.
Billy: Well, that's not anything that you have to worry about now, is it? We'll be just fine. You know, it's like they say -- "love conquers all."
Adam: I've heard that before.
Billy: Yeah.
Adam: Good night.
Ashley: Hi, Victoria. Actually, Abby and I were just having a slightly heated discussion about the... hex marketing strategy.
Victoria: Mm-hmm. Well, I'm just looking for Ben.
Abby: Uh, he's not here. He had something to take care of.
Victoria: Any idea what it was?
Abby: No. But it sounded important.
Victor: We have come to the most critical phase of our plan. No one is to find out about our connection. Got it? I don't have to tell you how dangerous it would be if they found out that we know each other.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Nick: You bribed the entire Allen family, and part of that deal was no contact with me, right, Dad?
Courtney: [Gasping]
Noah: Is that a yes?
Courtney: Yes! Yes!
Dylan: What the hell were you thinking?!
