Episode # 10625 ~ Adam risks exposure at Billy & Chelsea's party; Phyllis forces Kelly into a bad situation.
Provided By Suzanne
Adam: Hey, hey, hey, I got it. Looks like you're trying to upstage the best man. I know it's your house, but I'm the best man. I got something that I wanted to, um, make a toast myself to the happy couple-to-be. I want to say that, um... uh... marriage is important.
Jack: Well said.
Adam: No, no, no. There's more, Jack.
Billy: Big build-up, huh?
Chelsea: Can't wait to hear the rest.
Adam: One of the things that I've learned over the past year is that marriage is one of the most important commitments a man and a woman can make to each other. It's a promise to love one another... a promise to do that forever.
[Door opens]
Kelly: Hey. Where's the lawyer?
Victor: I'm here alone.
Kelly: Okay. What's happening?
Victor: You have no idea?
Kelly: No. You said I'd be in and out of here, and I just spent the night in jail.
Victor: But I had certain expectations.
Kelly: And I met them. I did everything that you told me to do. Are you double-crossing me?
Summer: Look, I get that you're bitter, but Austin did love me, and our marriage was real. It wasn't just a way for him to get dirt on my family.
Mariah: You sure about that?
Summer: Yeah, I am. I knew my husband.
Mariah: Except for the fact that he was sleeping with your aunt and filming an exposé on your family. So, how exactly how well did you know him?
Summer: You are just so jealous, Mariah.
Mariah: You know, you keep throwing that out at me like I'm supposed to be offended, but do you really think I wanted a husband who was cheating on me, who would use me?
Summer: You know, please stop talking about Austin like you knew him better than I did. He was my husband.
Mariah: Yeah, and for the first time -- I can't believe I'm gonna say this -- I feel sorry for you, summer.
Summer: You feel sorry for me? That's funny, 'cause I was gonna say that about you. Your life is so lonely and empty, and the worst part is that you will never know the kind of love that Austin and I had.
Kevin: Abby told you everything? I don't even know what that means. It sounds like you're jumping to some pretty major conclusions.
Stitch: Oh, okay. I'm jumping to Austin dying at the cabin, you guys moving his body, and the messages written in lipstick.
Kevin: [Scoffs] Well, that's an interesting story.
Stitch: All right. So, Abby was making this up, huh?
Kevin: I'm curious. When did you and Abby get so close that she would tell you anything?
Stitch: She let something slip at the hospital.
Kevin: Yeah, and I told you she was doped up on medication.
Stitch: She's scared, Kevin. That's why she's staying with Victoria and me at the house.
Kevin: What, was that your idea?
Stitch: It made sense. She'd been attacked.
Kevin: Oh, okay. So, as soon as she gets released from the hospital, you make sure she's under your roof?
Stitch: I was concerned for her safety. I still am.
Kevin: Or maybe you just wanted to find out how much Abby had figured out.
Stitch: That's crazy. Why would I want to know any of that?
Kevin: Because I think you know more about this than you're letting on.
Adam: I know that when I said "I do" to my, uh -- my bride, I pledged myself to her for eternity, till death do us part. Actually, even after that.
Billy: What the hell is he babbling about?
Chelsea: I think I know.
Jack: This is not the time --
Adam: This is the time. This is the time, and this is the place, Jack. It's perfect. My wife needs to know how much I love her and, uh... I've never stopped loving her.
Victor: Just don't upset yourself. I'm a man of my word.
Kelly: Then why am I still locked up?
Victor: You'll be out of here before you know it.
Kelly: That's pretty tough without a lawyer.
Victor: Well, there will be one by your side very soon.
Kelly: Why didn't you bring him with you?
Victor: Well, I couldn't very well be seen by the side of your attorney, could I? I'm supposed to be anxious to see you pay for the sins you committed against Phyllis.
Kelly: I guess you're right. [Sighs]
Victor: You listen to your lawyer. Bail will be set and will be paid.
Kelly: By you?
Victor: No one must know about that.
Kelly: Of course.
Victor: All right.
Kelly: Thank you, Victor. I'm really sorry I doubted you. I appreciate you playing your part.
Victor: Now you must play yours, all right?
Kelly: But I did.
Victor: Well, you haven't exactly been playing by the rules, have you?
Kelly: What are you talking about? I confessed.
Victor: You did, yes.
Kelly: So, what did I do wrong?
Victor: You've got to stop acting in such a confident, cocky manner, all right? You must give the impression of being a jilted, fragile bird.
Kelly: Fine.
Victor: Good. And most of all, you must make Jack Abbott think that you are a fragile bird, right?
Adam: To my wife... who has no idea how much I love her, doesn't even know who I am.
Jack: Okay, I think we get it. You are drunk. I am not gonna let you ruin this party by airing your issues with Sage in public.
Kyle: [Clears throat] And allow me to make one final toast to the couple of the hour -- my uncle Billy and his beautiful bride-to-be, Chelsea. Now, I've come across a number of surprises since I came back to town, but I never, ever expected to be toasting the union of my favorite screw-up uncle with Chelsea. Uh, I mean, as Jabot's lead fashion designer, I always assumed that you had much better taste.
Chelsea: [Laughs]
Kyle: But, um...love is mysterious, and you two seem perfectly happy to solve that mystery together. To Billy and Chelsea. Long may you love.
Chelsea: Aww.
Ashley: Cheers!
Chelsea: Cheers.
Ashley: Well said.
Chelsea: Mm.
Kyle: Congratulations.
Chelsea: Thank you.
Billy: Thanks, man.
Chelsea: That was very sweet.
Kyle: It came from the heart.
Billy: And, uh, nice sense of timing there, nephew.
Kyle: Someone had to step in there, apparently.
Billy: Yeah. It was getting a little weird.
Kyle: Yeah.
Chelsea: Poor Gabriel.
Billy: Why, because he was drunk or because he just made a complete fool of himself?
Chelsea: Well, I'm thinking that our happy engagement reminds him of his unhappy marriage.
Billy: Chelsea, if the guy's unhappy, then it's his own damn fault and he needs to do something about it.
Jack: What the hell do you think you're doing in there?
Adam: Doing what you've been asking me to do since I showed up at your door, Jack -- about ready to tell the truth. You know, I really thought you'd appreciate that.
Jack: Not now. Not when you've got everyone caught up in all these lies you've been spinning.
Adam: I can't worry about that now, Jack. I got a wedding to stop.
Ashley: Abby? How you holding up?
Abby: I'm -- I'm good. Thanks.
Ashley: You might want to look in the mirror.
Abby: What?!
Ashley: You have lipstick on your tooth, honey. It just -- maybe get it off?
Abby: Oh. [Chuckles] Thanks.
Stitch: I didn't mean to make it sound like I'm trying to butt in to something. It's just the stuff that Abby told me -- look, I'm worried about her and the rest of you.
Kevin: Hmm. You know, I'm just surprised that Abby would offer up that kind of information without being pressured, stitch.
Stitch: [Scoffs] Pressured? By me?
Kevin: Yeah.
Stitch: Come on.
Kevin: Maybe you were concerned that Abby knew your whole story.
Stitch: What story?
Kevin: Like maybe you were the one peering in the window at the cabin and maybe you're the one who's been leaving those threatening messages because maybe --
Stitch: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you suggesting that I killed Austin?
Mariah: Whoa! Keep your voices down.
Summer: Kevin, why are you talking to stitch about this?
Kevin: He knows. He claims Abby spilled all.
Mariah: Do any of you people know how to keep a secret?
Kevin: If you think that we're involved in some sort of cover-up...
Stitch: Oh, I don't think anything at this point. It's pretty clear you are covering up something.
Kevin: Then why wouldn't you just go right to the police?
Stitch: I promised Abby I wouldn't.
Mariah: You don't want the cops looking in to this, either.
Stitch: Look, I'm just trying to keep my promise to Abby, but you know what? This is all getting ridiculous.
Summer: This is really scary. Somebody killed Austin.
Mariah: Another Newman who doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut.
Summer: Somebody knows what we did, and they are stalking and taunting us. The only thing we know is that it's not one of us.
Stitch: Well, it wasn't me, either. I barely knew Austin. What reason would I have to hurt the guy?
Kevin: Oh, I can think of one.
Stitch: I can't wait to hear this one. Okay, Sherlock. What's my motive for killing summer's husband?
Kevin: Well, maybe you told Austin more than you meant to about what goes in inside the Newman family.
Stitch: Is this about that documentary?
Mariah: You admit you knew about it?
Stitch: But I didn't participate in it. Austin asked me to, but I refused, so, other than that, my only interaction with the guy was across the bar at the underground. So, thinking I killed him -- it's a little bit of a stretch.
Mariah: You do have a history of lying.
Kevin: And crime does run in your family -- your mother, your sister.
Stitch: My sister?
Kevin: The one who's in jail for framing Phyllis Newman?
Summer: What, you didn't know?
Stitch: What happened?
Summer: My mom is innocent. Kelly confessed.
Stitch: Okay. I-I got to go. But...I didn't do this, and whoever did, just -- just be careful. Don't do anything stupid.
Summer: [Sighs]
Mariah: I've got a bad feeling about that guy. Do you think he's more involved than he's saying?
Summer: If he didn't talk to Austin, then...
Kevin: I think it's a stretch, thinking that it's stitch. I'm just frustrated. [Sighs] We have to find out who's after us and who attacked Abby.
Summer: Yeah, and who killed Austin.
Kevin: So, I'm just turning everyone into a potential suspect.
Mariah: But you have a bad feeling about that guy?
Kevin: Maybe.
Mariah: Well, there's one way to find out how much Abby told him.
Kevin: Right to voicemail.
Ashley: Well, honey, of course you're jumpy. You were just mugged.
Abby: Thanks for reminding me, mom.
Ashley: Okay. I'm gonna stop hovering. I'm gonna get myself a glass of champagne. Do you want something?
Abby: Uh, no. I'm -- I'm good. Thank you.
Kyle: You need to stop acting like you have some huge secret.
Abby: But I do.
Kyle: Look, Abbs, no one should go through what you've been through, but this stalker is after all of us.
Abby: Yeah. That's why I'm so weirded out. He or she could be anywhere.
Kyle: Yeah, and if people find out that you're hiding something else, it could blow everything.
Abby: We could go to jail.
Kyle: Or worse. Look, someone out there has a vested interest in us staying quiet -- someone who has killed before.
Abby: And this is supposed to make me less jumpy?
Kyle: Look, I'm just saying I know you're spooked, but whatever you do, don't start confiding in your mom or your sister or anyone. Okay? No one outside our circle can know anything. You get that?
Abby: What if there was someone that we could trust?
Ashley: What are you guys talking about?
Abby: Oh. [Chuckles] I'm just, uh, more tired than I realized, so I think I'm gonna head back to, uh, Victoria's.
Ashley: Alone?
Kyle: I'll walk you to your car. I'll even follow you there, if you like.
Abby: [Chuckles] Talk about overkill. No, I think I can manage a few steps unguarded, so, um...
Kyle: If you're sure.
Abby: I'm sure, yeah. [Chuckles]
Ashley: Okay. Well, you stay safe.
Abby: All right. Thank you. Love you.
Ashley: Love you.
Kyle: Bye, ash.
Billy: Well, it looks like mom and Colin aren't gonna be able to make it after all. They came down with some sort of bug.
Chelsea: Mm-hmm. Jill would use any excuse not to wish us well. She's been against this relationship from the very beginning.
Billy: Well, I don't care what anybody else feels. You and I are getting married, and soon.
Chelsea: But, um, I mean, I don't want to interfere with Jack and Phyllis' plans.
Jack: Oh, I know, but Jack and Phyllis haven't even set a date yet, so, to avoid any conflict, we should go ahead and set our date, and soon.
Chelsea: How soon is soon?
Billy: Well, I don't want to go another day without you being my wife.
Chelsea: Well, we're not getting married tomorrow.
Billy: Okay. The next day.
Chelsea: Billy...
Billy: Just kidding. Um...30 days. How 'bout we get married before another month goes by? Sound good?
Adam: You never wanted me to keep this secret before.
Jack: You were the one that convinced me that everyone should still think you are dead.
Phyllis: Everything all right in here?
Jack: Yeah. We're just sobering our guest up here. Thanks. I thought this was gonna be your big chance at redemption -- to prove that you're a new man.
Adam: It is -- to get back together with Chelsea, to raise my son. That's the life that I want.
Jack: If you reveal yourself now, it will serve no one but you. It will prove to everyone you haven't changed a bit. You're still Victor Newman's son. This is a move Victor would make.
Victor: I want you to play the remorseful woman, so deeply hurt by losing Jack Abbott that you've been driven to commit extreme acts.
Kelly: I know what I have to do.
Victor: Good. Then you'll do it?
Kelly: But for the record, it kills me to see Phyllis with Jack.
Victor: Shh, shh, shh, shh. Forget about that right now, okay? You do as you're instructed, and you'll soon be sipping cocktails in the club. However, if you don't...
Kelly: Wh-what are you gonna do?
Victor: You must know that you've confessed to some serious crimes.
Kelly: Y--
Victor: After the arraignment, I suggest you go to your suite that I've paid for and you rest. You need all of your strength for what's about to come. All right? Be a good girl.
Stitch: Kelly. What the hell happened? Why didn't you call me?
Kelly: I'm sorry. I didn't want to worry you.
Stitch: My sister's in jail. Of course I'm gonna be worried. I'll find you a lawyer, okay?
Kelly: No, that's okay. I already have one. [Clears throat] Everything's gonna be fine, Ben.
Stitch: Hey, you seem so calm.
Kelly: Oh. Well, I'm just [Clears throat] Trying not to freak myself out. You're not gonna ask what I did?
Stitch: I heard you confessed to setting up Phyllis. Look, I am -- I'm so sorry.
Kelly: You didn't do anything.
Stitch: No, I should have seen how hurt you were by your breakup with Jack that you could be driven to do such things.
Kelly: Who said I did them?
Stitch: I thought you just did. Wait, Kelly. Are you -- are you saying that you're innocent?
Kelly: I con-- I confessed, okay? I'm -- I'm just trying to look at the big picture.
Stitch: Like how you weren't quite yourself when you committed those crimes?
Kelly: That's right. I wasn't. You know I wasn't.
Stitch: I'm sure that will help with your defense.
Kelly: Yeah. Everything's gonna be fine.
Stitch: It will. Look, it's good that you told the truth. I know all too well the price of living with a lie.
Summer: So, if stitch is the one writing these lipstick messages, then he has to be the one that hurt Abby.
Mariah: Brilliant deduction.
Summer: I don't see stitch knocking Abby out and then just leaving her in the park like that.
Mariah: We have already established that you are not the best judge of character.
Summer: Mariah, is this fun to do? Is it fun to throw shade at someone whose husband was just murdered? Do you like doing this to me?
Kevin: Okay, listen, listen. Stitch said that he didn't agree to talk to Austin on camera.
Mariah: Yeah. What about it?
Kevin: But he knew what Austin was up to.
Mariah: That he was doing an exposé. So, how did stitch find out about it?
Kevin: I don't know, but he's the one who told Abby that Austin's documentary would be taking swipes at the Abbotts and the Newmans.
Summer: What, and that bothered him so much that he would kill Austin? It doesn't make sense, you guys.
Mariah: He works at Jabot. Maybe he was protecting his job.
Kevin: Or his woman.
Summer: Victoria?
Kevin: He did time protecting his mother. If he thought Austin's documentary was gonna expose something that could negatively impact Victoria...
Mariah: He'd stop it.
Summer: Seriously? Murder?
Kevin: Well, there is no limit to what a guy will do to protect the woman he loves.
Adam: Jack, I have changed. I'm a better man now.
Jack: Then do the right thing.
Adam: What is the right thing to do -- watch my wife walk down the aisle with another man?
Jack: What could possibly be served in your telling everyone now?
Adam: I get my wife back. I get my son back. I get my life back, Jack.
Jack: You will be imprisoned for Delia's death, and if you think Chelsea is just gonna welcome you with open arms, you think again. She's gonna be furious at you for lying to her all this time.
Adam: Then I don't know what I'm supposed to do. What am I supposed to do, huh?
Jack: Drink the coffee. Adam, I know you don't want to hear this, but sometimes even people who are in love drift apart. They find other people to love. Chelsea is in love with Billy now. Maybe it's time you let her go.
Adam: I want you to look at me when I'm saying this to you. Never -- that's never gonna happen, Jack. Chelsea and I will be together.
Chelsea: A month isn't long enough to plan a wedding.
Phyllis: That's what I said, but Jack did not agree. And, you know, he's right. We have waited long enough. So, that's it. The date is set. We're getting married in one month.
Billy: [Sighs, chuckles]
Phyllis: Excuse me.
Chelsea: [Chuckles] Well, so much for our 30-day countdown, unless we want to be the warm-up act for Jack and Phyllis' wedding.
Billy: Yeah.
Chelsea: So, I guess our wedding will just have to wait a little longer.
Billy: I guess so.
Phyllis: Avery, hi. I can't hear you, honey. We have a party going on. What? What? When? What are you ta-- how could that even happen? [Sighs] All right. Thank you. Thank you for letting me know.
[Indistinct conversations]
Stitch: You in a new room?
Kelly: Oh, uh, yeah. Lily set me up with a suite while I have to deal with all this legal mess. You want to come in?
Stitch: No. You must be exhausted. Hey, I'm just -- I'm just glad you're free.
Kelly: Oh, thanks.
Stitch: Okay? Good night.
Kelly: Good night.
Stitch: Hey... your bail.
Kelly: What about it?
Stitch: Hey, who -- who posted it? I thought you said Jack turned his back on you.
Kelly: Yeah, uh, he did, but he's not the only powerful person in town.
Stitch: Yeah, but...Victor?
Kelly: No, Victor's thrown his support in behind Phyllis. What?
Stitch: Okay. I-I don't like this.
Kelly: Don't like what?
Stitch: I'm not sure, but there's something going on, and it's not good.
Kelly: Everything's gonna be fine, Ben.
Stitch: Okay. You were arrested, Kelly. Now, excuse me for getting all brotherly on you, but I'm worried.
Kelly: Well, don't be. I can handle whatever's thrown at me.
Stitch: The people you're trusting, the secrets you're keeping --
Kelly: Oh, come on. Secrets?!
Stitch: It's pretty clear that you're not telling me everything.
Kelly: Thank you for caring so much about me. I really appreciate it, okay? But everything is gonna turn out fine. Now...I'd like to rest. Thank you so much for walking me to my door. See you later?
Stitch: Okay. Just call me if you need anything, okay?
Kelly: Okay. [Sighs] Martha, it's Kelly Andrews. Could you have a little, uh -- a little champagne sent up to my room, please? Thank you. [Chuckles] [Humming] [Humming continues]
[Rhythmic knock on door]
Kelly: Ooh! Bring it on! That was fast.
Adam: You're asking me to give up Chelsea the way that you gave up on Phyllis.
Jack: With Phyllis, there was almost no chance she was coming back to my life.
Adam: Yeah, that's -- that's true. So you moved on with Kelly, right? You took the easy way out, Jack. You gave up on Phyllis too soon.
Jack: You can learn from my mistake. Don't send everyone's life, including your son's, into a tailspin by revealing yourself too soon.
Adam: I don't have this kind of time. Your brother's trying to marry my wife, in case you haven't noticed, Jack.
Jack: What about your original plan?
Adam: My original plan -- it's not working!
Jack: What, you can't win Chelsea back with the new you, Gabriel?
Adam: Well, this is really great. Look, maybe I didn't understand how much of an obstacle Billy would be, okay? But if she knew who I really was, Jack, he wouldn't stand a chance in hell, because Chelsea and I are meant to be together. Right? We share a child together.
Jack: I'm merely suggesting you wait a little bit longer.
Adam: I'm not gonna let this wedding happen.
Jack: I know what I'm talking about, Adam. Everything was stacked against Phyllis and I spending a life together. We're together now because we're meant to be.
Adam: So, you're -- you're asking me to take a chance, right? Just -- just...
Jack: I'm asking you not to blow up everything within a 5-mile radius, 'cause that's exactly what happens if you walk in that room and say, "I am Adam, and guess what -- I'm alive."
Adam: Well, you're so smart, Jack. What would you have me do?
Jack: Trust in the power that brought Chelsea in to your life. Keep her close. Be patient. But believe that things happen for a reason. Trust, Adam. Trust.
Ashley: It's really weird that both my brother are getting married.
Billy: Oh, you can finish that sentence -- to people you don't approve of?
Ashley: No. Initially, maybe I wasn't pro-Phyllis.
Billy: Well, she is an acquired taste, and you've only known her for 20 years, so give it time.
Ashley: Very funny. She makes Jack happy, so what can I say? Now, as for you...
Billy: Watch it.
Ashley: I look forward to getting to know Chelsea better. Does that worry you?
Billy: No, not at all. In fact, over time, I think you'll see for yourself, she's pretty darn great.
Ashley: Well, you know what? She loves you. She wants to spend her life with you. That's all I need to know, for now.
Billy: Thanks, ash.
Sage: Hey. I want to apologize for Gabriel. If he made you feel uncomfortable or upset for his toast, it was...
Chelsea: He didn't. No need to apologize.
Sage: Then is there something else bothering you?
Ashley: Hey.
Kyle: Hey. Well, I'm gonna take off. But, uh, congratulations again.
Billy: Thank you.
Kyle: You and Chelsea will be very happy. I just know it.
Billy: Thanks, man. We will do our damnedest.
Kyle: Good night, aunt Ashley.
Ashley: Good night? What, you got another party to go to?
Kyle: No, I've just got some friends to see. Yeah.
Ashley: Okay. Have fun.
Kyle: Thanks.
Billy: See ya.
Abby: Victoria stitch? Hello!
[Tap]
Abby: [Gasps] Hello? [Breathing heavily]
Kyle: I can't believe this. I was just with Abby at the house.
Mariah: And she didn't tell you she'd been blabbing to stitch?
Kyle: No. We didn't have much of a chance to talk alone. But I warned her not to confide in anyone.
Mariah: Well, apparently, she didn't take your warning very seriously.
Summer: That's typical Abby to go behind our backs to betray us.
Kyle: Anything new?
Summer: Well, Mariah and Kevin seem to think that stitch might have had something to do with everything that's been happening lately.
Kyle: Why? Did stitch even know Austin?
Summer: Barely.
Mariah: But maybe he got spooked that Austin would uncover something about his girlfriend's family.
Kyle: I don't know stitch, but it seems a little far-fetched that he'd kill Austin on a hunch about what the guy might uncover.
Summer: That's what I said.
Kevin: Whoa, whoa. Well, it was a little bit more than a hunch. I just decoded another piece of Austin's footage. Check this out.
Stitch: What do you want to know?
Summer: Wait. I thought that stitch said he didn't do an interview with Austin.
Kyle: He was lying. Why?
Abby: I'm perfectly safe here. There is nothing to be afraid of. That sound was just the sound of the house settling. I-I-I am perfectly safe here.
[Keys jingle]
Stitch: Hello?!
Abby: Stitch?
Stitch: Hey. You okay?
Abby: Getting there.
Stitch: Hey, what happened to the lights?
Abby: I don't know. How long have you been here?
Stitch: I just walked in -- came in through the garage, and then the lights went out.
Abby: What if there is someone else in the house?
Stitch: It's most likely just a circuit breaker. Just wait right here. I'm gonna go down in the basement and check the electrical panel, all right?
Abby: You are not leaving me up here alone. Haven't you ever seen those scary movies where the guy goes to check the fuse and the gorgeous girl stays behind, relaxes her guard, and, suddenly, the creepy masked killer sneaks out from the shadows and -- stab, stab, stab! The beautiful blonde ends up dead and dumb -- incredibly dumb. So, no, I am not staying up here alone.
Stitch: Okay. Okay. Just stay behind me, then, all right?
Abby: Yeah. Where else would I be? I'm not gonna jump out in front of you when the killer leaps out, just so you know.
Stitch: Thanks for the heads up.
Phyllis: Why in the hell are you out of prison?
Kelly: I made bail.
Phyllis: Oh! So, you decided to live it up, I see.
Kelly: Yes, exactly. I thought I might enjoy the perks of working here while I can.
Phyllis: Before you go to prison?
Kelly: Exactly. I did confess to doing all those terrible things to you.
Phyllis: Okay, stop it. Stop with your games. We both know your confession was bogus. You insisted that you were innocent for so long, you would not be confessing now without an ulterior motive.
Kelly: It was time.
Phyllis: Okay. Why don't you tell me what the real reason is?
Kelly: Oh, god. Would you stop?! We both know what the other is capable of.
Phyllis: Oh, yeah. We sure as hell do. Why don't you tell me what you're planning?
Kelly: Well, I'll tell you what I'm not planning -- your wedding! Does Jack know that you're here visiting me?
Phyllis: No. This is between just the two of us. What's this? What you got going on here? A travel itinerary?!
Adam: Things happen for a reason. I suppose that's true.
Jack: Then you'll wait to tell everyone who you are.
Adam: I'll tell you what I'm not comfortable doing -- leaving everything to fate. Jack, I'm not gonna stand on the sideline and watch everybody move forward while I stand still.
Jack: Adam, don't do this.
Adam: I went through complete hell last year, Jack. And the only thing that got me through that was me thinking about my future with Chelsea, because we're meant to be together. And I tell you what -- the sooner that can happen...
Jack: Adam. Gabe?
[Indistinct conversations]
Adam: Excuse me.
Ashley: Uh...excuse me. I'll leave you to it.
Adam: I wanted to -- I wanted to, um -- [Clears throat] I wanted to apologize to you for my behavior earlier. Uh...so, you probably already guessed it, but I was talking about my wife.
Billy: Hey, it's -- it's already forgotten, all right? It must be, uh, pretty rough at home, huh?
Adam: You have, uh -- [Chuckles] You have -- you have absolutely no idea... no idea at all. But your brother's right. This isn't the time or place for me to, uh, bare my soul. Wait till I get the right person...alone for that.
Billy: Right.
Adam: Sorry.
Chelsea: Billy just caught me off guard earlier, saying he wanted to get married as soon as possible.
Sage: And that would be a problem for you?
Chelsea: It would.
Sage: Why?
Kevin: I can't get anything else. Oh. Wait.
Mariah: What is it?
Kevin: The video picks up a little bit later.
Stitch: What kind of question is that?
Austin: Just answer it.
Stitch: What is this really about, Austin? You know what? You're getting in to dangerous territory. Turn that damn thing off.
Kyle: Can you find out what Austin was asking him about?
Kevin: That's all I could get decoded -- for now, at least.
Mariah: Well, whatever it was, it spooked stitch. He lied to us. Austin did interview him.
Summer: And if he lied about that, then...
Kyle: What else did stitch lie about?
Abby: I feel so colossally stupid. I was terrified over a blown circuit.
Stitch: Well, I'm just glad I was here to save the day.
Ba-ba-ba
Abby: [Gasps]
Stitch: Someone was in the house.
Jack: Sage has been alone for quite some time. Maybe you ought to spend some time with your wife.
Adam: Yeah. That's, um -- I'm sure that's a good idea. Pardon me.
Billy: Hmm. You know [Chuckles] The more I get to know that Gabriel Bingham, the more I wonder what is really going on with that guy.
Jack: You let him get to you too much.
Billy: You really think so?
Jack: Yes, I do. I even wonder if maybe you have rushed this marriage because of his interest in Chelsea.
Billy: Well, where did that come from? Whose side are you on?
Jack: I want you to be happy. I do. But I just --
Billy: Jack, the only reason that Chelsea and I are getting married is because I love her.
Jack: I know that. I --
Billy: Jack, look, I survived the year from hell, okay? And the bright spot along the way has been building a relationship with Chelsea. It feels right, like we're meant to be together. So, the sooner that can happen, the better, okay?
Chelsea: The problem isn't me marrying Billy. I mean, I want that. But I told him I want to do this right. I don't want to rush down the aisle.
Sage: And he wants to get married quickly?
Chelsea: I want a real wedding, Sage, with all the trimmings, and that takes time to plan, so I am more than happy to enjoy a long engagement.
Ashley: Well... good night, you two. It was a lovely party.
Billy: Thank you, Ashley, and thank you for your support.
Ashley: Of course. Say good night to Phyllis for me.
Jack: Bye, sis. Will do.
Ashley: Bye.
Jack: Where is my fiancée?
Kelly: Give me that!
Phyllis: Going out of town? Where you going?
Kelly: This has nothing to do with you!
Phyllis: Ah, so you are going out of town.
Kelly: I've been planning this trip for months!
Phyllis: Really? Is that why you were willing to confess -- so you wouldn't be tried, you wouldn't be around? I'm not letting you get away with this. I'm gonna report that you're jumping bail.
Kelly: [Breathing heavily] [Grunts] Ohh.
Victor: She's out of jail and will be leaving town in the next 24 hours. Our plan is about to fall in to place. But you had better be ready. Is that clear?
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Victor: Why the hell would I help Kelly Andrews?
Jack: That's exactly what I'm gonna figure out.
Hilary: I just want to know how Neil's doing.
Devon: Why do you care?!
Hilary: Because it affects me.
Neil: Paul, I want to talk to you about the accident.
