Episode # 10620 ~ Adam & Sage butt heads; Chelsea & Billy talk about the future; Abby seeks forgiveness.

Provided By Suzanne

Victoria: What is it with all of this spam in my inbox lately? Oh, "become a mystery shopper"? "Earn money from home by giving your opinions." Do people actually fall for this stuff? I guess they must or they wouldn't keep sending out these e-mails. Ben?

Stitch: Huh?

Victoria: Hi.

Stitch: Hi.

Victoria: Did you hear one word that I said?

Stitch: Um, something about mystery shopping or something. Is that even a thing? Never heard of that.

Victoria: Oh, no. What's wrong?

Stitch: Nothing. Nothing.

Victoria: Nothing? Something at work. Something happened at the lab. Because, you know, whenever you get this quiet, I know --

Stitch: You want a bagel or something?

Victoria: No, I want you to tell me what's wrong.

Stitch: Okay, last night, when Billy and Chelsea told us they were engaged, they way you reacted -- frankly, it was a little disturbing.

Victoria: Disturbing? Why?

Stitch: I think it's bugging you a lot more than you're willing to admit.

Billy: Second thoughts about the engagement party? I thought you'd love the idea.

Chelsea: Well, I do. But how are we supposed to pull it off by tomorrow? I mean, tomorrow -- we're gonna have to invite people, we have to figure out the food situation.

Billy: Chels. Jack is throwing the party. He's gonna hire people to do all that stuff. All you have to do is show up and look gorgeous.

Chelsea: Well, even that's gonna be difficult under our current living situation with such short notice. I feel like I'm camping.

Billy: You feel like you're camping? There are more rooms in this house than a museum.

Chelsea: Well, but they're not my rooms. I need my stuff. I need my clothes and my shoes and my accessories.

Billy: Hey, buy new stuff.

Chelsea: Who has time to shop? [Sighs]

Billy: Are you stressing about the engagement party or...is this about getting married? You haven't changed your mind, have you?

Adam: Jack was supposed to talk Billy out of marrying Chelsea. Instead, he's throwing them an engagement party. What the hell is that?

Sage: Are you done? Because I would like to talk to you about why we're here.

Adam: Oh, yes. Why we're here. We're here to have a stupid meeting with the estate manager to show him how happy and in love we are so that we can equally share in the Bingham fortune. Okay, so just smile pretty, act happy, continue to sell our marriage. Everything will be fine.

Sage: Actually, I was planning on telling Mr. Tipton that he didn't need to monitor us anymore. Because you and I are getting a divorce.

Ashley: There you are.

Abby: Hi, uh, yes. Yes. I am here. I got your message, and I can guess what you wanted to talk to me about. So, um, yeah, I've already been called a horrible person by several people. Summer ripped into me at the funeral. Then Nick let me have it. And Victoria, well, she was actually pretty kind, considering. I mean, I can only imagine what she thinks of me. I mean... I know what I think of myself right now. And the worst part is that Austin's dead. [Sniffles] And I can't mourn him, because I'm the other woman. So, I am in a really dark place right now, but if you would like to pile it on and tell me how disappointed you are in me, then... go ahead. Have at it. I -- I can handle it.

Summer: [Breathing heavily] [Crying] No. No, no, no. No, no. No, no. No.

Adam: We can't get divorced.

Sage: Sure we can. Because as long as we're married, we can't be with anybody else, and I want to change that.

Adam: Oh, you want to cha-- oh, I see. This is about Nick. [Sighs] Look, I already told you. You're deluding yourself. Okay? He's on the rebound. Whatever it is that you guys have, it's not gonna last. I'm telling you. Sharon is the man's end game.

Sage: Not according to Nick.

Adam: Well, nick's delusional, too. You're a distraction.

Sage: Could you be any more cruel?

Adam: I'm not trying to be cruel, okay? I'm actually trying to help you out. You think it's gonna give me pleasure to see you in pain after he kicks you to the curb?

Sage: Okay, fine. Let's not talk about Nick. Let's talk about Chelsea. If you're married, you can't be with her.

Adam: Well, there are ways around that.

Sage: I'm giving you an out, the possibility to pursue the woman that you want to be with before she's tied to someone else.

Adam: And you -- you're really willing to say goodbye to all those millions?

Sage: Constance left me with enough to get by. I'm gonna be fine. You're the one that's going on and on about having Gabe's inheritance ripped out from you, which doesn't make any sense because you talk about how you want to be with your one true love, and all that matters to you is being with her and your child. Don't you understand there's more to life than money?

Adam: [Scoffs] There is. But money makes things easier, doesn't it? Gives you security, gives you freedom. Look, j-- just stick to the plan, Sage, all right? Think of the future you could have with or without Nick.

Sage: Don't pretend to think that you care about my future!

Adam: Don't do this to me. I lost everything I had last year. You're the one that gave me this face, remember? You told me to become Gabriel Bingham. Now, I can't do that without that money. I won't have a life.

Mr. Tipton: Am I interrupting?

Sage: Hello, Mr. Tipton. Not at all. Please, have a seat. It's so nice to see you again. We have so much to discuss.

Chelsea: I'm not having second thoughts about getting married. I'm just...overwhelmed.

Billy: Okay, so are you overwhelmed by a tidal wave of pure joy or overwhelmed by an actual tidal wave? One good, one...not so much.

Chelsea: [Chuckles] Yeah, I get that. Um...I'm just thinking about all the hoops we have to jump through before we're there, you know? I mean, engagement parties, showers, all the elaborate planning, the actual wedding itself. I mean, it's -- it's a lot to deal with.

Billy: So let's elope.

Victoria: I am not the least bit upset about Billy's engagement.

Stitch: Seriously? That's how you're gonna play this?

Victoria: Ben...

Stitch: Look, after I left last night to go help Ashley, okay, I looked back at you. You were staring off, rubbing your finger. The wedding-ring tattoo. The one you keep saying you're gonna have removed, but it somehow just never seems to happen.

Victoria: Well, if it makes you any happier, I made an appointment to have it done.

Stitch: Was this before or after Billy gave you the news?

Victoria: Okay, I know you think I'm acting strangely. [Sighs] Whenever.... whenever your ex tells you that they're marrying someone else, it's just a weird feeling. What can I say? It's human nature.

Stitch: So that's all this is?

Victoria: How would you feel if you heard that Jenna was getting engaged, and that max was gonna have a new step-father?

Stitch: Hey, this isn't about me.

Victoria: I'm just trying to help you understand. You're seeing a problem where there isn't one. Speaking of real problems, I called Abby today, and she's still pretty upset.

Stitch: Because all the dirt came out about her affair with Austin?

Victoria: Well, you see, there was kind of more to the story. It wasn't just some meaningless fling for her. She was in love with him.

Stitch: Well, sometimes you can't help who you love. Some people are just meant to be together.

Victoria: Yeah, but that's not the case with Abby and Austin. She knew that, eventually, he'd go back to his wife. But still, she lost somebody that she really cares about. So on top of mourning him, she's also being shunned.

Stitch: Look, it sounds rough, but if anybody could use a good shunning, it's Abby.

Victoria: I agree with you!

Stitch: [Laughs] I mean...

Victoria: But I'm worried about her. And I want to ask you to do me a favor. Please be especially nice to Abby the next time you see her.

Stitch: [Sighs]

Victoria: Would you do that? I know she's beating herself up, and I know she could really use a friend right now. Please?

Stitch: Consider it done. All right, I'm gonna -- I'm gonna go now. Bye.

Victoria: Bye.

Ashley: So, now that the truth has come out, you must be asking yourself why you would do something so hurtful and so self-destructive.

Abby: Exactly. I don't know what's wrong with me, why I keep making these lousy choices.

Ashley: Honey, I've made so many mistakes. Especially where men are concerned. [Sighs] It kills me to think that you're following my bad example. That's the last thing I want for my baby girl, is for you to fall for men that are unavailable.

Abby: Like dad? How he'll always go back to Nikki?

Ashley: Well, that's kind of a perfect example. But there's a long list besides him.

Abby: How long?

Ashley: Pretty long. It goes back before you were born. I mean, case in point, you've heard me speak about Cole Howard, right?

Abby: The writer, right? You were married to him?

Ashley: Mm, yeah. For a little over a year. What you don't know... he was still involved with Victoria when he and I got together.

Abby: Wow. Yeah, I -- I didn't know that.

Ashley: Well, their marriage was a mess -- but not that that's an excuse. I'm not proud of it. I wouldn't even mention it except I want you to know... I've been where you are.

Abby: It's really hard.

Ashley: I know. It is. Unfortunately, it kind of still goes on. I know. I have this horrible tendency to fall for men that are interested in somebody else. I know that going in. Doesn't stop me.

Abby: [Chuckles]

Ashley: Never works out well. I think it's finally starting to penetrate my thick skull, though. I hope so.

Abby: That it's a pattern, you mean?

Ashley: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I'm stronger now, thank God. [Sighs] I think I've learned I need to focus on myself, you know? My work, my family, my life. And that's the one thing I would tell you to do, is find a life that's happy without a man. Please. Don't follow my example, honey. Take this experience that you had with Austin and try to be a better person. Try to be the woman that you want to be in your heart.

Abby: I [Scoffs] Don't even know where to start. I'm such a mess.

Ashley: Well, you've got to start with summer.

Abby: [Sighs]

Ashley: She's the one that's been through hell. She lost her husband. She needs to know that the people that love her are rallying behind her, and that includes you.

Abby: She hates me.

Ashley: Tough. You got to find a way to earn her forgiveness.

Abby: You weren't there. You don't know how bad it was. After what I did, summer is never gonna forgive me.

Ashley: Abby, is there something you're not telling me?

Summer: [Breathing heavily]

Summer: I saw you kissing her!

Austin: Oh, calm down. You don't know what you saw.

Summer: I saw you kissing Abby!

Austin: Hey --

Summer: Wasn't the first time, was it?!

Austin: Summer!

Summer: Let go of me! Let go of me!!

Summer: No, let go! Let go of me! Kyle. What are you -- what are you doing?

Kyle: I-I was worried. You -- you were awake, but it's like you were in a trance or a nightmare or something. I was just trying to bring you out of it.

Summer: No, I-I wasn't in a trance. I r-- I remembered something new.

Kyle: Something about that night? What is it?

Summer: Um...I was -- I was mad, and I was yelling at Austin about him and Abby. And I wanted to leave, and Austin was getting really angry at me. And a-as I was putting on my coat, he grabbed my arm and he wouldn't let go of me.

Kyle: Could that have been when you hit him? In self-defense? Maybe you confronted him about the affair and -- and he flipped out. You might have been scared he was gonna attack you.

Summer: I don't know. Austin would never hurt me. [Sighs] Then again, I never thought I would've hurt Austin, either.

Kyle: Hey, now, stop blaming yourself again, okay? You've had a breakthrough. Your memory's coming back. Do you think you can piece together any more of what happened?

Summer: I don't know.

Kyle: Try, summer. Nothing's more important than figuring out what else you might know about that night.

Abby: No, you know everything you need to know. I'm just saying, you didn't see summer's face when she found out that Austin and I had... mom...I love her, but I don't know if we'll ever be able to reconnect. It's complicated.

Ashley: Look, I know it's gonna be difficult, but you've got to try. And you might get shot down, even more than once, but you can't give up. She's your niece. And it's possible for the two of you to be close again. But, Abby, if you don't try, there'll never be a chance at that. I know you're up to the task. I have faith in you.

Abby: Thank you.

[Knock on door]

Stitch: Hey. Should I come back?

Ashley: No. No, we're just talking.

Abby: And hugging. Lots of hugging today.

Ashley: Yeah.

Stitch: Hey, uh, Abby, I'm glad I ran into you. I just wanted to let you know I really liked some of your latest marketing suggestions.

Abby: You what? Wait, are you giving me a compliment?

Stitch: First time for everything, I guess.

Ashley: Thank you so much for pulling that research. It was very helpful.

Stitch: Glad I could help.

Ashley: Yeah. And guess what, I've been here since forever, so I'm gonna take a breather. But when I get back, I'd love to have your input.

Stitch: Sure thing.

Ashley: Bye, honey.

Abby: Bye.

Ashley: [Smooches] I love you.

Abby: Love you.

Ashley: Bye.

Stitch: Uh...so, as I was saying, uh, some of your ideas about hex were -- were ve-- very strong, you know? Especially the social-media angle. I liked that. It was -- it was good.

Abby: I sincerely doubt that you mean that, but thank you for saying it.

Stitch: [Scoffs] Abby, come on. I mean...you know me well enough to realize that I don't say things I don't mean. And once our product hits the shelves, you know, we're gonna need a good strong marketing campaign, you know, to help beat brash & sassy, and I think you're just the person to help us do that.

Abby: Wait. Stop it. Why are you being so nice to me?

Stitch: Can't a person be civil once in a while? [Chuckles]

Abby: No. Not when that person is you talking to me. So tell me what's really going on.

Billy: Eloping is no good?

Chelsea: Well, for one thing, what kind of message would it send?

Billy: Message? What message? We're getting married.

Chelsea: What will people think?

Billy: Well, I don't know. Maybe that we're romantic and spontaneous.

Chelsea: Or they'll think that we're worried about what other people think.

Billy: Apparently we are. Look, who cares? This wedding is about us.

Chelsea: [Sighs]

Billy: Hey. You gave me another shot at happiness, one that I thought I was never going to have. I'm just looking forward to starting the next chapter of our lives together.

Chelsea: Me too.

Billy: I love you. And I'm really excited about becoming your husband, bringing our families together. So I don't care if this wedding takes place at a random beach in Hawaii or some Vegas chapel. All that matters to me at the end of the day is that you and I are Mr. And Mrs. William abbot. So how does eloping sound now?

Chelsea: Terrible. It's all wrong. I'm sorry, Billy. I just can't do it.

Adam: ...And we were settling in just fine.

Sage: Well, Gabe did the settling and the decorating.

Adam: That's, uh, just because I know you don't have the patience for that sort of thing, sweetheart, so... uh, but ye-- we're still divvying up the chores. You know, who empties the dishwasher, takes out the trash.

Sage: Where we live, and where every little stitch of furniture goes.

Adam: Yeah...

Mr. Tipton: Things seem a bit tense between the two of you.

Adam: Really? No. That's -- this is... [Chuckles] This is -- this is banter. Yeah. I mean, surely, you know, just like every other couple, we have our good days and our bad days.

Mr. Tipton: Which do you have more often?

Adam: Just depends on when you ask.

Mr. Tipton: Why don't we start with today?

Adam: I guess we could start with today. Um, you know, I'm not sure if you're aware, Mr. Tipton, but, uh, there was a fire -- big fire in our building, uh, Valentine's Day, and then an explosion shortly after that. And, uh, well they're still investigating that, so we've -- we've been displaced, and we're currently staying with our friends. But, uh, you know -- I mean, that can be stressful.

Sage: Yes, and as close as we are to Chelsea and Billy... it's just a little too close for comfort.

Adam: It's to be remedied as soon as they give us the okay to move back in.

Mr. Tipton: I never did get a chance to visit you in your new place. Perhaps I will once you're back.

Adam: Yeah. No, you shou-- I mean, it'd be weird to do that before we got back, but... yeah, no, you're more than welcome to come swing out -- is there -- was there another question that you had for us today, or...?

Sage: Yes. Because, you know, Gabe and I are open books, so... ask away.

Mr. Tipton: No, I think that's it for today. I'll be in touch.

Adam: Bye. Thank you.

Sage: Don't thank me. I kept my mouth shut for a reason, and you're not gonna like it.

Victoria: Oh, Ashley.

Ashley: Me?

Victoria: Uh, hi.

Ashley: Hi.

Victoria: Did you see Ben at Jabot?

Ashley: Yeah, actually. He was in the lab with Abby.

Victoria: Great.

Ashley: Oh, wait. One second. Abby told me how kind you were to her regarding this whole Austin situation. Thank you for that. And given the way that Ben just treated her, I'm sure you probably asked him to be nice as well.

Victoria: Oh, well, she's going through a tough time. Why make it worse?

Ashley: Even though you don't seem to have a problem using my formula for your own gain, I mean, at least where Abby's concerned, we can be on the same side, right?

Victoria: You couldn't just say "thank you," could you?

Abby: We get along better than we used to, but we're hardly pals. So -- so tell me, what's with this sudden onset of friendliness?

Stitch: Your sister asked me to give you a break, so...

Abby: Of course she did. [Scoffs] I-I should've guessed that you're only doing it for Victoria.

Stitch: And what if I am? I'd do anything for her. And she's worried about you, okay?

Abby: Okay. So, I guess you know the whole story, then.

Stitch: I just know what Victoria told me.

Abby: Not that I care what you think, but I didn't set out to sleep with summer's husband.

Stitch: How'd it happen?

Abby: Well, it started out as the most innocent thing in the world. He was around, I was around. He was working on this documentary. He asked me to be part of it.

Stitch: Yeah, I know about that. He -- he told me about that, too.

Abby: He did?

Stitch: He -- he came by asking a lot of questions about the Abbotts and the Newmans. I chose not to participate.

Abby: Why would he come to you?

Stitch: He wanted an outsider's take on your family. But I wouldn't call what he was doing a documentary. Seemed more like an exposé on the local business titans.

Kyle: Walk me through what you remember about that night, about the party.

Summer: Um...well, we all started playing this game called "never have I ever," and someone brought up murder, which made Austin run out because of the way his mom was killed. Which wasn't very long before...

Kyle: Summer, I know this is hard. But you have to keep going. The more you remember, the better.

Summer: Okay. Um... well, when Austin came back, he and I had decided that we were just gonna head back home. But we couldn't leave because the roads were really bad.

Kyle: The snowstorm was raging, right.

Summer: Yeah, so we just stayed here. And we wound up drinking the punch.

Kyle: Which some idiot spiked.

Summer: Yeah, fen did. And then things get really hazy, and that's when I passed out. But I remember Austin and Abby arguing.

Abby: We can't do this anymore. It's not fair to summer. We're family.

Summer: And now there's this moment that just came to me, when I was putting on my coat and Austin grabbed my arm, and he wouldn't let go of me.

Summer: Let go of me! Let go of me!!

Kyle: What else?

Summer: The next thing I remember after that is holding the bookend.

Kyle: Do you remember hitting Austin?

Summer: No. I don't. I don't want to remember that.

Billy: Okay, so eloping's out. But you're still feeling overwhelmed about a big, formal wedding, so...

Chelsea: Well, because I've never had one before. With all the frills and traditions. But I think after everything we've been through, we deserve it. It's like you said. I mean, this isn't just about the wedding. It -- it's a symbol of us starting our life together. So it wouldn't be right not sharing that with the people we care about. Besides, your family would kill you if you didn't invite them. Everybody knows the Abbotts love a good party. They would never let you hear the end of it if we didn't invite them.

Billy: Yeah. Actually, that's true. Okay, so a proper, full-on wedding. You're ready for this?

Chelsea: I am.

Billy: Engagement parties, showers, planning headaches?

Chelsea: Bring it on.

Billy: Okay.

[Both chuckle]

Sage: So, if we're gonna continue with this sham of a marriage, we're gonna have to set some ground rules.

Adam: Oh.

Sage: Mm-hmm.

Adam: Oh, no, that's a good idea. Are you kidding me? Where do you get off?

Sage: Well, I just realized right now, when I saw how vulnerable you were, begging me to keep our marriage together, that I'm in the driver's seat.

Adam: Oh, okay. Well, um, I think you're forgetting that it's my car.

Sage: Well, on the contrary, Gabe, for the first time in my life, I feel awake and alive. And you're right -- I don't know how things are gonna end up with me and Nick. And while I don't need to be wealthy, it would certainly come with benefits. But the difference between you and I is that I'm willing to walk away from the cash. And I will do that if you continue to drive me crazy and make my life miserable.

Adam: Well, I'm -- I'm worried about you.

Sage: You're worried about me?

Adam: Yeah. Yeah, I'm worried about you because you actually think that you're gonna take me on and win. This is going to end poorly for you.

Sage: Well, you're the only one with everything to lose -- the girl, the cash. Hmm? So, this is how things are gonna go from now on. Number one -- you are not gonna say another word about my personal relationship with Nick. Number two -- no matter how angry you get at me, how frustrated, you're not gonna take it out on me. You will show me respect. And lastly, no matter how you feel about Chelsea and Billy's engagement, you're gonna keep it together or you're gonna send us both to jail.

Adam: Well, this has been... this has been lovely.

Sage: I think so.

Adam: Oh, um... one more thing, sweetheart. You don't tell me what to do.

Sage: I believe I just did.

Ashley: What exactly did I say that you find offensive?

Victoria: Oh, my gosh. You have to be kidding me, right?

Ashley: Do you deny the fact that the fragrance you're about to roll out was actually one that I created? I mean, come on, please.

Victoria: You had no problem pointing out that we're on opposite sides of the business. I'm the enemy. But you know what, your real beef is with my father. Well, I'm not my father.

Ashley: Close enough, Victoria.

Victoria: [Sighs]

Ashley: Hey. I'm sorry. Look, I had a very rough morning with my daughter. And you're right -- the theft of Jabot's intellectual property was Victor's doing and not yours.

Victoria: Thank you. Thank you so much for recognizing that. You know, maybe I should have let what you said roll off of my shoulders, but I've had a hard morning, too.

Ashley: Truce?

Victoria: Truce.

Ashley: Okay.

Victoria: I think we need to be strong for each other right now. You know, I feel bad for summer. It's hard enough finding out that you've been betrayed in that way, let alone by people that you love and trust. And we all make mistakes. Abby's my sister, and I'm always gonna be there to love her and support her no matter what.

Ashley: You're right. We have to show these girls, both of them, that, despite our differences, we're behind them 100%.

Victoria: Yes. And we will do that, Ashley. Family first, no matter what.

Abby: An exposé? No, that -- that's ridiculous. Austin wanted to learn about my family. He wanted to trace the Abbotts and the Newmans and figure out how we got to where we are today. It's like a "rags to riches to crazy rich" story.

Stitch: That's not the impression I got. Way the guy was talking, it sounded like he was looking to do a real smear job.

Abby: No, he -- he couldn't have. Austin wouldn't do that to me. He wouldn't use me that way.

Stitch: Abby, I know -- I know we aren't close, but I wouldn't lie to you about this. I'm -- I'm sorry.

Abby: No. No, you're -- you're wrong. Because if what you're saying is true...

Stitch: Look, I --

Kyle: You must have hit Austin. You were holding the murder weapon in your hand.

Summer: I know. But I don't understand how I could ever kill Austin, no matter how mad I was at him.

Kyle: Think, summer. Just try to remember. You heard your husband and Abby talking about ending things. You were totally stunned, in a jealous rage, and that's when you struck him over the head with the bookend.

[Bookend clatters]

Summer: I didn't hit Austin. Somebody else did it. I -- no, I remember holding the bookend, but then I dropped it, and picked it back up after it was all bloody, after Austin was killed. But I didn't do it. I didn't kill him, Kyle. I didn't kill Austin. Oh! Oh...

Sage: Hey.

Chelsea: Hi.

Sage: How's the bride-to-be this morning?

Chelsea: Uh, I'm -- I'm frazzled. My head is spinning. There's so much to do.

Sage: Oh, the engagement party. Right. How's planning going?

Chelsea: Well, it's not yet. That's why I'm here. I mean, Jack is officially in charge, but I thought, you know, I'd look at a menu, offer some ideas.

Sage: Well, you have plenty of time for that, right?

Chelsea: Not really. The party's tomorrow.

Sage: Tomorrow? Wow. Geez, moving pretty fast.

Chelsea: Yeah. I almost pulled the plug for that very reason.

Sage: Wow. I thought brides were usually pushing to move things along. But you're hesitating. You having second thoughts?

Chelsea: Why does everyone keep asking me that?

Sage: Maybe there's a reason to?

Billy: Hey, there.

Adam: Hey. I thought you'd be at Jabot.

Billy: No, I'm working from home. Need to get away from the phones sometimes, you know?

Adam: Yeah, absolutely.

Billy: So, uh, how'd things go with the, uh, watchdog? You and Sage didn't seem terribly excited when you left here this morning.

Adam: Yeah, well, if you ever met Mr. Tipton, you'd understand really quickly that he's not a very exciting guy.

Billy: [Chuckles] I'm sure that's true. Must be hard, you know, having to put on an act all the time, right?

Adam: Well, um, it's probably hard for Sage, yeah. Yeah, you know, pretending like she's in a loving marriage. Of course, it's not an act for me. But, uh... you know, I'm -- I'm truly hopeful that someday it won't be an act for her, either.

Billy: Well, I wish you all the best, Gabe.

Adam: Thank you.

Billy: I really hope that it works out for the two of you.

Adam: Thank you very much. Yeah, I'm -- I'm pretty confident that, uh, everything'll turn out exactly the way it's supposed to.

Billy: I'm sure that it will.

Adam: Yeah. Oh, but you and Chelsea, how's that going? You guys planning on a -- like, a long engagement?

Billy: No, I'm ready to tie the knot whenever she is.

Adam: Yeah?

Billy: Yeah.

Adam: But you guys don't have a date set for the wedding?

Billy: Nope.

Adam: Huh.

Billy: No, not yet. I want Chelsea to have her dream wedding. So when all the parts and pieces fall into place, we'll walk down the aisle. But you know, in the meantime, there's something you could do for me.

Adam: Okay. All right. What? What would that be?

Billy: Be my best man.

Victoria: An exposé on my family?

Stitch: Yeah, that appeared to be the plan. So... hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. What are you doing? I thought we -- I thought we agreed no snooping around the lab?

Victoria: [Sighs] Fine.

Stitch: What are you doing?

Victoria: Why didn't you tell me earlier?

Stitch: Didn't seem like a big deal, you know? I mean, he was a kid with a camera. Those guys are everywhere. Who's gonna take him seriously?

Victoria: Still. When did this happen?

Stitch: Austin came to me right when everything, you know, went to hell over Valentine's Day.

Victoria: [Sighs]

Stitch: Then he was gone.

Victoria: God, as if his death wasn't tragic enough. I mean, first of all, summer is devastated, and now he was making a documentary?

Stitch: Yeah. Abby took it hard, realizing that the guy might have been using her. You know, but I thought she ought to know.

Victoria: Yeah. You made the right call. Thank you. And thank you so much for being a friend to her when I asked you to. It meant a lot to Ashley, too.

Stitch: I said I'd do it. So, what is the real reason you're here right now?

Victoria: I don't like the way we left things. I know you're concerned about my reaction to Billy's engagement.

Stitch: Yeah, I felt like you were holding back.

Victoria: Well, I was. But I won't now.

Kyle: If you didn't kill Austin, then who did? Do you remember anything else? Did you see someone else hit him?

Summer: What are you doing here? I thought I made it clear last night that just the sight of you makes me sick!

Abby: I didn't know that you were gonna be here. But I'm glad that you are. I mean, there's something about Austin that you should know.

Summer: You think I want to hear anything about my husband from you?

Abby: Okay, fine. Then another day. It -- it'll keep. But there's also something else that I want to say.

Kyle: Abby, now is not the time. I really think you should go.

Summer: Yeah, that's a good idea.

Abby: I know that I already apologized for hurting you. But...I'll say it again. I am truly, truly sorry for what I did. And I will do everything in my power to make it up to you.

Summer: You slept with my husband, and you want me to just forget that?

Abby: No. No, not forget it. But maybe we can just get past it.

Summer: Get past it?! I will never forgive you!

Kyle: Come on, let's get out of here. Come on.

Stitch: Look, whatever you're about to tell me, all I'm asking is that you just be completely honest.

Victoria: [Sighs] I know you think I'm having trouble letting go of Billy.

Stitch: Aren't you?

Victoria: To be honest, Ben... even though Billy and I are divorced, and even though he's marrying somebody else, I'm just always gonna consider him a part of my family because we have kids together. Now [Scoffs] That doesn't mean that I want him back. But I'm never gonna cut him out of my life. And you're just gonna have to learn to accept that if you want to be with me. Otherwise this relationship is never gonna work.

Chelsea: I have no doubts about Billy. I just wasn't expecting him to propose.

Sage: Ahh. Are you saying that you're not ready?

Chelsea: [Sighs] I've been married to two men -- Dylan McAvoy, a great man who I married for all the wrong reasons, and Adam Newman, a man I love so much, I married him twice. And it ended in tragedy.

Sage: Yes, I understand he died over a year ago. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Chelsea: Thank you. So, that's why, with Billy, I want things to be perfect. Because this time... [Clears throat] It's gonna last.

Adam: Gee, bill, your best man, huh?

Billy: Yeah, yeah. How about it?

Adam: You know, I got to be honest with you. I'm honored, but I'm also a little bit taken aback. You sure you don't want to ask your brother?

Billy: Yeah, I don't think he's terribly thrilled about me getting married right away. I mean, my divorce is pretty recent.

Adam: True. That's true. Yeah, but I mean, he is throwing you an engagement party, though.

Billy: Yeah, that's his gracious way of bowing out of doing anything more substantial. It's a lot easier to write a check than it is to stand up for me at my wedding.

Adam: I suppose you're right, yeah. I -- still, I mean, are you sure there's no one that you know better that you'd rather have stand up with you?

Billy: I feel like I know you, Gabe.

Adam: Do you?

Billy: Yeah. I mean, you know, not, like, your entire history, but the kind of man that you are.

Adam: Mm.

Billy: And besides, who better to have stand up for me at my wedding than the guy who saved my life, right? I mean, if it weren't for you, I couldn't even marry Chelsea.

Adam: [Laughing] That's unbelievable.

Billy: Yeah. So...

Adam: That's true.

Billy: ...What do you say?

Adam: Well, uh...you know, when you put it that way, um... what can I say? You got yourself a best man.

Billy: All right.

Adam: All right.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Nikki: You better stick to this story or we could both end up in prison.

Jack: I'm not sure what Victor's angle is. He claims to have an ace in the hole.

Victor: And Jack Abbott will have been stripped of everything. He will lose everything.
