Episode # 10603 ~ Lily promises Cane a special Valentine's Day; Ashley confronts Victor.

Provided By Suzanne

Nikki: Victor? Oh. Have you seen my husband?

Phyllis: Not for a while, no.

Nikki: Well, that's surprising. I thought he would have been busy doting over his latest pet project.

Phyllis: Victor's doing me a huge favor. I'm very grateful. But, Nikki, if you don't want me here, all you have to do is --

Nikki: I don't want you here.

[Doorbell rings]

Nikki: Oh, of course. [Sighs] It's for you. Sissy.

Avery: Actually, I'm here as your attorney today.

Ashley: There you are.

Jack: You waiting for me?

Ashley: Yeah. I have the first mockups for hex's print campaign. I think you should look them over before I give the green light to the art department.

Jack: You certainly seem pleased with it.

Ashley: Oh, they had an easy job of it. The product does sell itself, after all.

Jack: We get it on the shelves, it'll fly right off.

Ashley: Mm, that's the idea.

Jack: I'm incredibly proud of you, ash. You worked your tail off to get this thing to market, and if this love potion of yours sells anything like we expect it to...

Ashley: Co-CEO again.

Jack: I will be thrilled to make that announcement.

[Computer chimes]

Jack: Who is sending off e-mails at this hour?

Ashley: It's my assistant. "See attached and try not to explode"?

Jack: Uh-oh.

Ashley: [Gasps] Oh, God. No.

Jack: What? What is it?

Ashley: It's a magazine ad for brash & sassy's new fragrance.

Jack: "Cast a spell over your man that'll make you irresistible."

Ashley: That is the dictionary definition for hex -- "to cast a spell over."

Jack: That crafty son of a --

Ashley: That is our marketing concept, Jack. He stole it. Victor stole it! Just like he stole the fragrance. I-I created this! This is corporate espionage! Do you see that?

Jack: He's done a lot more than that.

Kelly: I'm sorry, sir. Um, what do you mean we want the same things?

Victor: I don't want Phyllis in Jack's life any more than you do. He's done terrible things to her. He didn't tell her the truth that he was having an affair with you all the while she was lying in a coma.

Kelly: [Chuckles] That's very true. Uh...but I don't -- why would you care about my feelings?

Victor: I don't. But I care about my granddaughter's feelings. And Jack has done terrible things to her mother. Now, if you want Jack Abbott in your life, I can help you make it happen.

Kelly: [Chuckles] Why would you do that? What's in it for you?

Lily: So, what are you plans for Valentine's Day?

Devon: It's a much bigger day for you. What are you guys doing for your anniversary?

Cane: I am sweeping my beautiful wife off to Chicago and going to mix business with pleasure.

Lily: Well, small parts of the former and large quantities of the latter.

Cane: Mm-hmm.

Devon: I'm sure that's all the details I need about that.

Lily: Well, that's all I really know anyway.

Cane: Well, after we finish with Jill, I have an evening planned.

Lily: Do I get a hint?

Cane: No.

Lily: Oh, well, ask Devon what he has planned for his valentine, Gwen.

Cane: Mm.

Neil: Hilary. Is that you?

Neil: If you're not Hilary, please forgive me. I thought I-I recognized my wife's perfume.

Hilary: Neil.

Neil: Ah. It is you. Huh. I-I was afraid that I was making a fool of myself.

Hilary: No, no. Of course not.

Neil: Well, you came home so late last night, and then you slipped out before I had a chance to give you a good-morning kiss. You know, we really hadn't talked since yesterday when -- when you left like a bat out of hell.

Hilary: Yeah, about that --

Neil: No, no. No. No. Don't you dare apologize. You have nothing to apologize for. We had just received some devastating news, and I-I know it's a lot for you to process. I know. I-I handled things very poorly. And if I'm being honest with you, which I always am, I was shattered when the doctor told me that I'd never see again. I realize that you needed some time alone, away from me, away from everything. This has all been so -- so very, very painful.

Hilary: Yeah, well, that's very understanding of you.

Neil: I know how hard this has been for you and why you'd want to keep some distance from me.

Hilary: Neil, I'm -- I'm not trying to avoid you, okay? I'm just -- I'm just busy.

Neil: Yeah.

Hilary: I've really been neglecting my work with everything else that's been going on.

Neil: We've both been struggling ever since my accident. And...I want to show you how -- how much I appreciate all that you've done for me and, you know, how much you've sacrificed, and I want to take away all this pain, even if it's for one day.

Hilary: Yeah? How do you want to do that?

Neil: I would like to take you out for a very special Valentine's Day and show you how much I adore you and that I am grateful for sticking by me and all that you've done and having you in my life.

Ashley: What do you mean Victor moved Phyllis in? To the ranch? What was she thinking?

Jack: She was thinking that I betrayed her, that I was the one that sent her to Fairview for the psychiatric evaluation, even thought Michael and I agreed it was her only shot at an insanity defense.

Ashley: Well, it's because she thinks you abandoned her. And you know what? That's how she views everything nowadays. Phyllis has always been defensive, but I think she's becoming paranoid.

Jack: And capitalizing on her fear and vulnerability, Victor is underlining and reinforcing every negative feeling she's ever had about me.

Ashley: You know, it's just not enough for him, is it, to screw us over with this sleazy business maneuver. He has to butt his nose into your personal life.

Jack: No, the mustache isn't fully alive until he thinks he has something up on me.

Ashley: You know what? I'm a very competitive person, but I've had it with Victor's vindictive attacks on our family.

Jack: Wait, wait. What are you doing, ash? Ash!

[Door closes]

Victor: I already told you what I want. I want Phyllis to be free of that destructive jackass.

Kelly: [Chuckles] You know, I bet most people find you pretty persuasive.

Victor: But you don't?

Kelly: Well... forgive me, but, um, are you and Phyllis having a thing?

Victor: [Chuckles] No, we're not romantically involved.

Kelly: I just -- it's a little hard to wrap my head around it. I mean, you say that it's because Phyllis is Summer's mom, but I thought you hated Noah and faith's mom.

Victor: Can't stand her. Sharon has done some dreadful things to my family. And she is the one who pushed Phyllis down that flight of stairs so Phyllis ended up in a coma. And it took me a long time to find ways to get Phyllis out of that coma. And I'm not going to allow Jack Abbott to destroy her now.

Kelly: Oh, my -- Phyllis is the one who is destroying Jack. She is completely out of -- I know you don't like Jack, [Chuckles] But Jack has gone above and beyond the call of duty. He has stood by her. He has been more patient and understanding than that woman deserves.

Victor: Oh, my God. It warms the cockles of my heart to hear that.

Kelly: Respectfully, Phyllis has done things in order to keep Jack in her life, things that involve harming me.

Victor: Phyllis is out of Jack's life. Ever since she was released from Fairview, she has been staying at the ranch with me and with Nikki.

Kelly: Phyllis left Jack?

Victor: Mm-hmm. So you think about my offer, okay? Have a nice day.

Kelly: [Chuckles] Sir.

Victor: Thank you.

Kelly: Thank you. [Chuckles]

Avery: I need to speak to my client, Nikki. Would you mind giving us some time alone?

Nikki: Oh, not at all. Of course not. Whatever Phyllis wants.

Avery: Okay, she seems pleased with this arrangement.

Phyllis: Oh, I have my reasons for being here.

Avery: Mm-hmm. Is one of them Jack? Because I can't think of a better way to hurt him than coming to stay here.

Phyllis: Me, hurt Jack?

Avery: Phyllis, listen to me. You need all the allies you can get right now.

Phyllis: Jack is no ally. He's proven that.

Avery: Really? You don't think he was acting on your behalf when he was trying to keep you out of jail?

Phyllis: Well, so he claims, but I don't know. Trying to trick your fiancée into committing herself into an insane asylum really isn't sitting well with me these days.

Avery: Phyllis.

Phyllis: Now, come on. You said you were here as my lawyer. I want an update. Where do things stand?

Avery: The psychiatrist's report is in.

Phyllis: Yes, I heard. Jack seemed disappointed to learn that I'm not crazy.

Avery: Do you not grasp what this means for your case? The doctor has said you're a cold and calculating person who was not impaired that day at the club, that you knew exactly what you were doing.

Phyllis: When I allegedly poisoned Kelly, something I have no recollection of. But there was antifreeze in her body, so it must have been me. You think I'm lying, and I can see it in your eyes. You think I tried to kill her.

Avery: Phyllis, that report is all Christine needs to convict you of a violent crime. Is that what you want?

Phyllis: What's the alternative?

Avery: We need to discuss a plea deal.

Phyllis: No. No way in hell.

Phyllis: There is no way I am going to admit to something I don't believe I did.

Avery: Phyllis, you should not be held accountable for what happened to Kelly.

Phyllis: Yeah, because I didn't put poison in her tea.

Avery: But Dr. Barrett feels that you are sane and calculating enough to have done it.

Phyllis: Okay, then we get another shrink. We get a second opinion.

Avery: No, you are in serious trouble here. Okay? The DA has a very strong case against you, and Christine wants to hang you from the highest tree!

Phyllis: Oh, my God. That's another thing. Cricket hates me. She shouldn't even be allowed anywhere near my case. I mean, seriously, is that not your job as my lawyer?

Avery: Even if Christine were to rescue herself, the case against you is very compelling.

Phyllis: Okay, then I want you to tell me the truth. Do you think I poisoned Kelly?

Avery: Uh... Phyllis...

Phyllis: Avery. You are no longer my lawyer.

[Door opens]

Avery: Phyllis.

Phyllis: No, I don't need any help going to prison.

Avery: No, you can't do this.

Phyllis: Well, I just did. You're fired.

Avery: But...

Victor: Hello. I think she's no longer in need of your legal services.

Avery: Phyllis, my God, listen to me.

Phyllis: No. Victor's been through this. He believes in me.

Avery: You're not thinking this through. Dismissing me doesn't make these charges go away.

Phyllis: Well, then I will settle for you going away. There's the door.

Avery: [Scoffs] If you need me --

Phyllis: I won't.

Victor: You have a nice day.

[Door opens]

Victor: Well, well, well.

[Door closes]

Victor: The last thing you need is someone on your defense team who thinks that you're mentally unbalanced.

Nikki: [Laughs] Good one, Victor. Way to go. Oh, for heaven's sake. I thought you were smart enough to understand what was going on here.

Phyllis: I think what's going on is that your husband is doing me a very big favor, and that seems to be upsetting you.

Nikki: I love that man. But I have to say that in all the years I have known him, I can count on one hand the number of times he has done something for somebody out of the kindness of his heart. Because there are always strings attached, Phyllis. Always. You used to know that about him. But then there is something in this for you, too, isn't there? You have the added bonus of sticking it to Jack because he has wounded you so.

Victor: You finished?

Nikki: Why, yes, I believe I am. For now. I'm off to get a massage. Please, don't wait up for me.

[Door opens, closes]

Phyllis: Are you going to deny any of that?

Victor: No. Nikki is right. There is something in this for me.

Devon: So, chancellor might move to Chicago?

Cane: Yeah, there's a, uh, real-estate mogul that's trying to woo us into his building. Has, uh, views of the lake, the river.

Devon: Well, that sounds tempting.

Cane: Yeah, he's going all out to impress us, even sending his private jet.

Lily: You never told me that.

Cane: Well, stick with me, baby, and travel in style. [Chuckling]

Devon: When do you guys leave?

Cane: Uh, plane picks us up at 5:00 tomorrow, get on site by 6:30, and then, after I finish meeting with Jill and Colin --

Devon: Oh, wait, wait, wait. Jill said that Colin had nothing to do with chancellor.

Lily: I guess she changed her mind. Is that a problem?

Devon: Well, it was one of the conditions of my investing -- no Colin.

Cane: Well, I thought he was supposed to be a private partner, so what does it matter?

Devon: Um...for now. Excuse me, guys.

Lily: Yeah.

Devon: What's wrong?

Hilary: Everything. See, this is exactly why I wanted to tell Neil before Valentine's Day.

Devon: What's going on?

Hilary: He's planning some big, elaborate surprise. I don't know how much longer I can keep up this charade, Devon. I just -- I feel -- I feel like he's gonna see right through me.

Nikki: Got your usual.

Neil: Thanks. [Sighs] Need that.

Nikki: Oh, I'd ask how things were going, but it's fairly obvious.

Neil: I can't get that image out of my head -- my wife and my son having sex like that. You know what? She's been avoiding me like the plague.

Nikki: So, they still don't know that you know?

Neil: Mnh-mnh. Totally in the dark, like I was. I tracked her down at Jabot. I wanted to scream at her that I knew. But I held it all in -- what I was thinking, what I was feeling. And instead, I told her that I wanted to plan this very beautiful, lovely valentine's dinner.

Nikki: Hmm. What did she say to that?

Neil: Oh, she didn't have to say anything at all, you know? The...look on her face said it all -- all the guilt, all the panic. I swear to God I'd have more respect for that woman if she'd just literally stab me in the back. I wanted to call her out right then and there. I wanted to look her in the eye and tell her what I saw. I wanted to choke -- [Slams] Choke the truth out of her.

Nikki: Listen to me. If you were this angry, it's a good thing you didn't. 'Cause no good can come from that.

Neil: You're right. Wouldn't be worth it... and not nearly satisfying enough. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Hilary is not -- she's not gonna get off that easy.

Nikki: Why, thank you.

Neil: Yep. So...how are things going with you and Victor?

Nikki: Please do not ask.

Neil: That good, huh?

Nikki: He's constantly telling me how much the marriage means to him, and then he turns around and inflicts more pain. I mean, I am so over it. I'm over it. I'm over him. And then, when I needed my husband the most, he is trying to resurrect Phyllis. I forgave him that. I forgave him, and you know where Phyllis is living now? My house.

Neil: Phyllis, uh -- she left Jack?

Nikki: Oh, she made the decision when she was at Fairview, and when they released her, Victor offered her one of our guest rooms.

Neil: Holy smokes. Temporarily, I'm assuming, right?

Nikki: Oh, no, no. Make no assumptions. This is indefinite. I mean, as long as little miss Phyllis needs a room, she's got a room.

Neil: Oh.

Nikki: And let me tell you this -- he didn't even ask me about it.

Neil: How much is one person supposed to take?

Nikki: I am done making excuses for him. I mean, everything that he does, he says is in the name of protecting the family and all that. I'm -- I'm so over it.

Neil: How can a person be married to someone, take -- take vows, and then treat them with such contempt?

Nikki: Neil, I don't know. I'll tell you -- I'll tell you Phyllis is on her own. 'Cause if she wants the play the kind of games that Victor wants to play...and she loses, so be it.

Neil: Got to do what you got to do.

Devon: I know I said that we'd tell Neil before Valentine's Day, but I don't think that's gonna be enough time. 'Cause the man's had devastating news, and we need to see him be in a better place before we start laying the groundwork.

Hilary: My heart is falling through the floor here, and you say that?

Devon: Baby --

Hilary: What do you want me to do in the meantime, huh? Do you want me to -- to just pretend like I'm swept away by his grand romantic gesture? Is that what you want?

Devon: You know I don't.

Hilary: We agreed, okay? We had a plan.

Devon: Okay, how about this -- how about we do a family trip?

Hilary: A family trip?

Devon: Yeah. Well, it's a business trip for Jill and Cane. They're gonna go to Chicago for chancellor and they were gonna take Lily and Colin along. They're gonna do it up. They're gonna have a private jet, stay in a nice hotel. I'll just insist on being there as the primary investor. And you can invite Neil to come.

Hilary: Why? Neither of us has anything to do with chancellor.

Devon: I understand that, but like I said, it'll be a family trip. And I'm sure Jill and Cane won't mind.

Hilary: [Sighs] Devon, I don't know.

Devon: It'll be perfect. Trust me. Just hype it up to Neil how much of a good time we'll have. That way, you won't have to be alone with him and I'll at least be able to spend part of Valentine's Day with you.

Hilary: I guess I can make it work.

Devon: I know you can make it work. Okay? This'll be a holiday to remember.

Victor: I am hardly a selfless man. I'm thinking of my family here. Please, sit.

Phyllis: I imagine you're speaking of Summer.

Victor: You know, after you went into a coma, that poor girl was a lost soul. Became very vulnerable, didn't know who to turn to. That's why she got involved with that messed-up kid Austin. Worst of all, she turned to someone else for a mother.

Phyllis: Sharon.

Victor: Do you know how much damage that woman has done to this family, over and over again, and most of all, to Nicholas? And I'm going to straighten that mess out. Having said that, I think the most important thing for you now is to stay away from Jack Abbott. It's good for you, good for Summer, good for the whole Newman family.

Phyllis: Victor, these are all...very pretty sentiments, and I believe they're true. But I also know that by me staying here, it's having an effect on Jack, and I think you're enjoying that.

Victor: You know, Jack Abbott's feelings are utterly irrelevant to me.

Phyllis: Is that because they are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things -- me and Jack, and Summer and -- we're all just smaller pieces of the larger... picture?

Victor: That what you think?

Phyllis: I think you're a big-picture kind of guy. And I think there is more to all of this, a lot more than you're saying.

Victor: [Chuckles]

Jack: Phyllis fired you?

Avery: I'm afraid so.

Jack: What the hell happened?

Avery: Well, I was trying to get her to see how dire her situation is when Victor walked in and complete undermined me. Because, you know, he supports her fully. He's the only one who truly understands her.

Jack: Yeah, she's frightened and confused, and he's taking full advantage of it.

Avery: Jack, I am scared for my sister. I don't know what I can do for her now. We can't have her committed because Dr. Barrett declared her mentally competent.

Jack: And you know why. Kelly. She denies it, of course, but I guarantee you she convinced this doctor that Phyllis is determined to get rid of all the competition. She painted her in the worst possible light.

Avery: Phyllis is not responsible for her actions. How a trained psychiatrist could not see that --

Jack: Yeah, well, the hell of it is when I'm with her, according to Phyllis, it only gets worse. I can't reach her.

Avery: Yeah. That makes two of us.

Jack: Yeah, and I don't know how we're gonna convince a judge that Phyllis really is unstable.

Avery: Actually, there might be a way.

Ashley: I'm surprised you were brave enough to answer your door.

Victor: Have you ever known me to be a coward?

Ashley: Yeah. Yeah, what you did was exceedingly cowardly.

Victor: Oh, yeah?

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Victor: What did I do?

Ashley: Theft.

Victor: Oh. Really?

Ashley: Uh-huh.

Victor: Huh.

Ashley: I don't know who you bribed or who you blackmailed at the environmental security bureau, but when those guys came in to my lab and confiscated my prototype and my notes, you somehow got your hands on them. You copied my fragrance after you stole it, and you know it.

Victor: That's absurd.

Ashley: I saw your ad -- brash & sassy's new fragrance. "Cast a spell over your man. It'll make you irresistible." You didn't even try to be subtle, did you?

Victor: Well, whatever you think I did --

Ashley: You know, I worked on that fragrance for more than a year. I tested it, I retested it, I developed it, I sweat blood over it. You don't give a damn, do you? You have no respect for that. You planted spies in Jabot, you bugged my lab, and when that didn't do the trick, you had government agents do your dirty work for you. You took my fragrance and slapped your name on it, and now you're going to market ahead of us.

Victor: I'd be very careful pointing fingers in public, okay?

Ashley: You know what, Victor? You forget who you're talking to. I know exactly what you're capable of doing. I know exactly how low you will stoop. And so do you. Why the hell are you doing this?! Why are you letting Victor use you this way?

Phyllis: You know, I'm getting sick and tired of people saying that. I'm not being used. I know what I'm doing.

Avery: The slightest thing throws Phyllis off these days. If we can come up with a way for you to trigger that unstable behavior in front of witnesses...

Jack: To make her look crazy?

Avery: To prove that Kelly is lying, to show the court that Phyllis really does need help.

Jack: Whoa, stop, stop. What are you talking about? We can't set Phyllis up that way.

Avery: You said it yourself, Jack. Victor is now her salvation. We're the enemy. There's no reasoning with her. She's irrational.

Jack: Then we'll find some other way to help her.

Avery: We're past that point. We're out of time, Jack.

Jack: Do you realize what you're asking me? This isn't even up for discussion.

Avery: Okay, so what's the alternative? We're gonna let Kelly win?

Jack: I will do whatever I have to do to help Phyllis. There has got to be some other way to keep her out of prison.

Avery: Jack, she is looking at attempted murder. The judge could put her in jail for many years. Kelly has played this whole thing beautifully. I am telling you -- my approach is the only way.

Jack: To incite the woman I love to break down, to become violent in public after everything that she has been through -- this is a Victor move. I won't hurt Phyllis this way. End of discussion.

Avery: Jack --

Jack: No. End of discussion.

Kelly: Lily. Hi. Um, I was hoping we could talk.

Lily: Um, yeah. What's wrong?

Kelly: You know, you've been an amazing friend to me -- always telling me the truth even when it hurts. I really owe you for that.

Lily: What's going on?

Kelly: Well, you know, lately I've been wondering whether I've been...reading too much into what I had with Jack, clinging to something that didn't exist, maybe deserved all the things that Phyllis did to me.

Lily: Um... yeah, I just -- I think it's a shame that things got taken that far.

Kelly: You mean that Phyllis took it that far -- poisoning me. [Chuckles] I mean, like -- like she hadn't threatened me enough already.

Lily: I just -- I understand the kind of rage that can drive someone to hurt someone else... or themselves.

Kelly: What are you saying? You think I spiked my own tea with antifreeze?

Lily: I'm just saying that we all do things to hold on to the people that we love. And you were in an impossible situation, and I supported you, but up until a point, because now Phyllis could be facing jail time.

Kelly: [Sighs] So you actually think -- you know what? It's okay. I-I said that I appreciated your candor, and I meant it, but the fact is I didn't need to do anything, especially not something that extreme, to fend off Phyllis.

Lily: Why would you say that?

Kelly: There is more to this story than you know, Lily. The truth is I'm not the only one who thinks that Jack and I have something real, something that's meant to last.

Devon: I hate lying to Neil as much as you do.

Hilary: But you don't have to live with him. You don't have to try and say the loving things that a wife is supposed to say when your heart's not in it. You don't have to sleep beside him every night just praying that he doesn't touch you because then you're gonna have to pull away or come up with another stupid excuse. I'm starting to hate myself. Okay? And I care about Neil. I just -- I don't -- I don't want to do this anymore.

Devon: Honey, honey, honey, honey. Listen to me. I promise you we're gonna find a way to get through this and a way to tell Neil the truth when the time is right.

Hilary: Didn't you hear anything that I just said? I don't know how much longer I can keep pretending.

Devon: Come here. Come here. It's okay.

Hilary: [Sniffles]

Devon: It's okay.

Hilary: Hey, Neil. It's me. I've been thinking about you.

Neil: That's funny. I've been thinking about you, too. What were you thinking?

Hilary: Um, just, you know, how lucky I am to have a man who loves me as much as you do.

Neil: You don't what it means to hear you say that to me.

Hilary: Um...you know, I've been distant lately. And it's just like you said back at the office. It's been a difficult time for all of us.

Neil: Yes, it has. It's been extremely difficult.

Hilary: Yeah. [Sighs] So...about Valentine's Day. I've been brainstorming, and... there's something special that I'm excited to tell you about.

Neil: Lovers' day. Yeah, I can't wait to hear what you have in mind.

Ashley: Phyllis, I know that you've been through so much. You lost an entire year of your life. But when you go through an experience like that, don't you come to some kind of an understanding about what's important? I mean, didn't you reach an epiphany of some kind?

Phyllis: I had an understanding, but look where it got me. I got lied to, tricked. I was just locked in a psych ward, heading to prison.

Victor: You do not owe her an explanation.

Ashley: You're not the only one who lost something. After your accident, Jack went into mourning. I mean, he basically gave up on his life. Do you know that he worships you? I don't understand why you're lashing out at him like this.

Phyllis: While I was in a coma, he had a nice warm body to mourn with. So forgive me if I am not weeping tears over him.

Ashley: Really, Phyllis? I mean, that's what this is about? You're punishing Jack because he finally managed to move on with his life?

Kelly: Avery, hi. Um...we should talk.

Avery: Bad idea.

Kelly: I know you're probably angry at me for talking to that doctor, the one who evaluated Phyllis at Fairview, but he called me.

Avery: And you weren't about to miss an opportunity to bury my sister.

Kelly: I didn't press charges, okay? That was the D.A.'S decision. I don't want Phyllis to go to prison.

Avery: Oh, spare me, Kelly.

Kelly: You're an attorney. This is a criminal investigation. What are you suggesting? That I should have lied?

Avery: My sister was in a coma for over a year. She was treated with highly experimental medication, her family didn't know, and she's still suffering the aftereffects of that. Her whole world moved on without her, and, yes, she's still struggling, Kelly. You could have told all that to Dr. Barrett so Phyllis could get the help that she needs. Instead, you made it sound like she's capable of attempted murder because you want her locked up, don't you? So you can go after Jack.

Kelly: That is not true.

Avery: It's sick and you're sick and if anybody needs a stay at Fairview, it's you, lady.

Kelly: Stop saying that.

Avery: Oh, I seem to have hit a nerve.

Kelly: It's not right. It's not right.

Nikki: How could you let Phyllis move into my home?!

Jack: Hello to you, too.

Nikki: Answer the question.

Jack: You know it was not my choice.

Nikki: She's your fiancée.

Jack: Was my fiancée. She gave me the ring back. Your hubby is pulling the strings now. Take this up with him.

Nikki: Victor and I are not responsible for taking care of her complications. I want her the hell out of my house. Now, if you can't take --

Jack: What do you want me to do? You want me to issue an ultimatum? You want me to knock her over the head and drag her out by the hair? Which do you prefer?

Nikki: I don't really care. I just want her gone. If I'm not making myself clear enough, I'll do.

Lily: [Sighs] I'm so excited about our trip.

Cane: I cannot wait to get on the plane.

Lily: I know. It's been forever since we've had time away from the kids.

Cane: And we are gonna make the most of this.

Lily: Oh, we definitely will. Something tells me this will be an anniversary to remember.

Hilary: So, it will be a group of people that we love the most traveling by private jet, showered with all of the perks.

Neil: Mm. Perks are always good. So, tell me -- who exactly is going on this trip?

Hilary: Uh, Jill, Devon, Cane -- it's their business trip -- and Lily and Colin and you and me, if you agree to tag along.

Neil: Hmm. Well, I -- [Clears throat] Yeah, all of us together in one place -- yeah. That sounds perfect.

Victor: Ashley, your business plan failed. You're obviously very upset about it. And here you are raging at poor Phyllis. I suggest you take your attitude and go.

Ashley: I'm not talking business anymore, Victor. This is personal. It's obvious why you're doing this. You're angry with Jack because you think he abandoned you. Now you're throwing in with somebody like Victor, who's so happy, so willing and able and eager to torment my family and my brother any chance he gets.

Phyllis: This is totally not your business, Ashley.

Ashley: No, but Jack and Avery are working so hard to convince the world that you're crazy, but we both know that's not the case, right? We both know that you know exactly what you're doing.

Jack: Listen, I've been doing some more thinking about your plan.

Avery: And?

Jack: I still don't like it, but...you're right. We have to do something.

Avery: [Sighs] What changed your mind?

Jack: I realized if we don't act now, Phyllis' situation is only gonna get worse, and I'm fresh out of better ideas.

Avery: I know. I am not thrilled with this, either, Jack, but the thought of my sister losing her freedom over a crime she's not responsible for -- that's far worse.

Jack: Agreed.

Avery: Okay, we'll work out the details, but this is gonna have to happen fast.

Jack: This probably goes without saying, but Phyllis can't know this. She would think this is the ultimate betrayal, and it probably is.

Avery: We'll do our best to keep it from her, but, Jack, it's for her own good. And don't worry. You won't be alone in this.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Adam: Happy Valentine's Day.

Noah: Does anybody else think it's weird that we got invitations to drive all the way up here and we have no idea who sent them?

Neil: [Thinking] I gave you both a chance to do the honorable thing, but you're cowards.
