Victoria: Wait. Are we here already?
Stitch: We'll walk slower next time, I guess.
Victoria: [Laughs] I hate it when work interferes with my personal life.
Stitch: Oh, it's so irritating, isn't it?
Victoria: Very irritating.
Ashley: Oh, excuse me. Hello.
Stitch: Good morning, Ashley.
Ashley: Good morning. Victoria, how nice of you to escort Ben to the lab this morning.
Victoria: Actually, I'm here to see Abby. I was just heading to Marketing now.
Ashley: Oh, really? Abby's not here.
Victoria: Mm-hmm.
Ashley: Oh, but you probably already knew that, right? Just a little cover story you're using.
Victoria: Covering for what?
Ashley: Well, I mean, come on. We're all grownups. I think I know what you're really after.
Abby: This could be so fun. [Clicks tongue]
Kelly: Oh. Abby. Hello. What are you doing here?
Phyllis: And as far as Jack is concerned, well, he find out about any of this. Thank you.
Jack: Gonna tell me what's going on?
Devon: This was a bad idea.
Gwen: Why do you say that?
Devon: Cause I'm, uh... I'm gonna make you late for work. That's why.
Gwen: As long as I add up the columns properly, Jabot doesn't care if I'm a little tardy. Besides, this is exactly how I wanted to start my day. Making love with you just gets better and better.
Devon: [Chuckles] Probably crowding you.
Gwen: Only in the best way possible. Plus now we have an answer to my question.
Devon: What was your question?
Gwen: Where things stand with us. And I like your answer very much.
Neil: Hey, honey, do you need some more orange juice?
Hilary: Um, no, I'm good. I have some water.
Neil: Yeah, water's good, but orange juice is even better for you. It's got folic acid. It's exactly what you need right now.
Hilary: Yep. I've had plenty of orange juice today, thank you.
Neil: You know, I'm just mentioning this because I care about you. I want our baby to be healthy from the start. Big life ahead for all of us, right?
Hilary: [Swallows a birth control pill] Mm-hmm. You know, Neil, um, a baby would be a blessing, right, but we can't assume that --
Neil: Hey, making a baby means we get to stay busy in the bedroom.
Hilary: [Chuckles]
Neil: We are already blessed in life. We found each other. You know what I'm doing? I'm researching new products, new methods for raising a baby, caring for a baby. I'm gonna stay on top of all this stuff because I'm looking out for you, baby. I'm looking out for my wife.
Lily: Hi. Good morning, you two.
Neil: Hi, Lily. Good day to you, darling.
[Glass shatters]
Neil: Whoa. Hey. What -- what was that?
Lily: Um, are you okay?
Phyllis: What was that about?
Jack: I woke up to an empty bed.
Phyllis: You're welcome.
Jack: I don't remember saying thank you.
Phyllis: I was letting you sleep.
Jack: I don't want to sleep alone. I did that long enough.
Phyllis: You weren't always alone.
Jack: Oh, geez. Are we really gonna go there now?
Phyllis: Okay. Maybe we should just go back upstairs back to bed instead.
Jack: I would love to go to bed, but I have a meeting at the club.
Phyllis: Oh!
Jack: Red...
Phyllis: It was just an "oh." Nothing to do with the fact that Blondie works there. You ever notice how many blondes I have to deal with? They're pains in the butt. Her, Sharon, my sister some days.
Jack: Well, that was a very nice tangent.
Phyllis: Thank you. I thought so myself.
Jack: You know what? We're both gonna be exhausted if you continue to be irked every time I mention the Athletic Club.
Phyllis: I know business happens there.
Jack: It does.
Phyllis: I know. And if you have to go, you have to go. I'm a big girl. I won't get irked about Kelly taking every chance she can get to sidle up beside you.
Jack: I'll tell you what. Why don't I call Hilary, see if I can reschedule this. At the very least, I get it moved to the office.
Phyllis: No, no, no, no. Don't. Listen, honey, you are mine, and that is a fact. And you love me. That is also a fact. And we're getting hitched. That is fact number three. So all this stuff about meetings and the club and Blondie, whatever.
Jack: Listen to me. We are always and forever. Never forget that.
Phyllis: Good. But since you're busy the rest of the morning, I have some things I have to take care of.
Jack: Wait, what things?
Phyllis: Innocent things.
Jack: Oh, gee. I feel not so worried about that.
Phyllis: Well, good, good. You shouldn't. Toodle-loo.
Victoria: I'm just gonna give Abby a call, find out where to meet her.
Ashley: Are you sure you don't want to wait here? Or am I standing in the way of you getting what you really want?
Stitch: Ashley, uh, I thought of a new approach to that compound calculation.
Ashley: Oh, really? Sounds interesting.
Stitch: Yeah, let's get to it, all right?
Ashley: Okay.
Stitch: See you later?
Victoria: Absolutely.
Ashley: Bye. So, what new approach? It sounds very interesting.
Stitch: Okay, how about we talk about what the hell just happened out there.
Ashley: What happened?
Stitch: The way you're acting towards Victoria.
Ashley: She and I have a history. We understand each other, believe me.
Stitch: Yeah, but we had one night, Ashley. It was great, but you know where my head is.
Ashley: I do. I don't think you know where mine is.
Stitch: Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious.
Ashley: Okay. Victoria's playing you, and it would be kind of amusing if it wasn't so damned annoying.
Hilary: Uh, I am so sorry.
Neil: Hey, what's going on? What happened?
Lily: Hilary's glass slipped. I'll clean it up.
Hilary: No, no, please. It's okay. I got it.
Neil: Hey, honey. Are you okay? You sound -- you sound a little shaky.
Hilary: Yeah, no, I'm just -- just a little embarrassed. It's this new hand cream.
Lily: Uh-oh. Jabot might have a lawsuit on their hands.
Neil: Oh, no, they won't, because my girl is way too loyal for that. And, you know, maybe it's not just the -- the lotion. Maybe it's the jitters from giving up the coffee.
Hilary: Um, I'm gonna go clean up a little. I'll be back.
Neil: Okay, honey. Is it real messy?
Lily: No, no, no. It's fine. But, um... speaking of this "no coffee" thing -- and I'm not jumping conclusions, I swear --
Neil: No, but you are jumping to conclusions, but it's okay. Yes, Hilary did give up coffee, and no, there's no baby on board. Not yet. But we sure are having fun trying.
Lily: [Laughs] Ew. But, Dad, I'm so happy for you.
Neil: Thank you.
Gwen: Hilary, hi. This is perfect.
Hilary: Gwen, hi.
Gwen: Better to talk here than at the office.
Hilary: Aren't you, um, late for work?
Gwen: Aren't you?
Hilary: Um, well, I'm actually waiting for Jack. I'm here with my husband.
Gwen: And I'm here with Devon. Look, I know you set us up for show, but... things are very, very real now.
Hilary: Well, is that what, um, all that was about earlier? You know, you two coming in just all over each other?
Gwen: Afterglow, baby! We need drinks and a long talk if you want to hear all the details.
Hilary: [Chuckles]
Gwen: But for now, I'll just say we had to borrow a suite here for the past two days, and I have you to thank.
Hilary: No, please. Don't.
Gwen: But you set us up. I owe you.
Hilary: No! Um, I'm sorry, Gwen. It's just -- I don't -- I don't want you to get hurt. Just because some guy takes you to bed, it doesn't really mean --
Gwen: Oh, honey, I know. But I'm a grown woman. And I know when it's for fun and when it's for real, so you don't have to worry about Devon needing a fake girlfriend anymore. Neil can rest easy 'cause Devon has found his match.
Hilary: [Chuckles]
Devon: Hi.
Hilary: How could you do this to me?
Devon: What did I do to you?
Hilary: Sleeping with Gwen? Oh, yeah, she told me all about it.
Phyllis: Good morning. Morning. Hi.
Hilary: Hi.
Phyllis: You are my lifesaver. You're incredible. Your dad's wife here managed to pull off the impossible. Thank you for setting up Jack's fake meeting here.
Hilary: Yeah, no -- no problem. I just, um, haven't seen him, though.
Phyllis: No, no, no. I left him at home thinking that I didn't even want him to come to the meeting. I hate being duplicitous, but I had to. Did you, uh, book the suite?
Hilary: No, I'm sorry --
Lily: Hey. We need to talk. Dad just told me.
Hilary: Told you?
Phyllis: Told you what? Is there news?
Devon: Already?
Hilary: "Already" what?
Lily: I'm sorry. This is not a conversation to be having here.
Phyllis: Well, help me out. Are we talking about life-changing events?
Hilary: Oh, God.
Lily: No, okay. No baby news. No baby. This is how rumors get started, and I already made that mistake once.
Phyllis: There might be some news eventually? About a baby, I mean?
Hilary: [Chuckles] You know what? Listen, Lily. I really need your help. It's urgent.
Lily: Yeah, of course.
Hilary: Could you help Phyllis with her surprise for Jack?
Abby: There you go. I left a note for Lily, so you can have your office back now.
Kelly: Well, thank you. I will let Lily know when I see her.
Abby: The note that I already mentioned does that, so you can concentrate on whatever work-related things you need to concentrate on.
Kelly: Abby, um, can I just talk to you for a second, please? Look, I know you were never a big fan of Jack being with me.
Abby: Ah. You got me. And I thought I hid it so well.
Kelly: But that's all over now, okay? So we can move on. There's no more need for any more unpleasantness, okay?
Abby: That's great, how you've come to terms with all of this, you know. Uncle Jack moved on, although I don't know if it was technically moving on considering he was engaged to and in love with Phyllis the whole time, but you know what? Never mind all of that. You are back on the market now, and you are gonna find someone great. And if they're not emotionally available, you will turn and run in the other direction, right? Quick, like a bunny. Live and learn, I always say. [Clicks tongue]
Kelly: [Scoffs]
[Cell phone chimes]
Kelly: Wow. Oh!
Phyllis: So, the idea was to whisk Jack away for some romance on a tropical island.
Lily: That sounds good.
Phyllis: But Hilary hooked me up with his schedule, and it's just not gonna be possible, not any time soon, at least; so, second choice was a little us time here at the hotel today. That's what Hilary was trying to talk to you about. But since I'm here and Jack is on his way, let's just cut the chase and book a suite.
Lily: Oh, uh, um, it's -- it's really short notice -- I
Phyllis: You -- you have VIP suites in reserve, don't you?
Lily: I'll have to check.
Phyllis: Look, I-I get it. You're team Kelly.
Lily: [Chuckles] Okay, it's -- it's really none of my business.
Phyllis: Well, it doesn't mean you don't have an opinion, which clearly you do.
Lily: Well, yeah, of course, I do. Kelly is my co-worker, but she's also my friend. And I don't like the idea of you --
Phyllis: Lily, I get it. I do. But I am back, and I am awake. Jack and I have made it to the other side. And he's made his choice, and I want him to know that he's my choice, too, now and after this.
Lily: It's really nothing personal if we don't have any suites.
Phyllis: Lily, please just hear me out. I know you've been there. You know that kind of pain, and you know that kind of fear where you might lose everything you have ever cared about. So when you survive, you grab life and you want to swallow it whole. That is how I feel every second of every day now, and I don't want to waste any time with Jack feeling like I'm guilty about being in love with him.
Lily: I'll see what we have available.
Phyllis: Thank you. The way things have been going, I really need this day to come off without a hitch.
Stitch: I am not being played.
Ashley: So, Victoria has to see Abby in person in the lab where you and I are and Abby rarely is.
Stitch: If Victoria says she needs to see Abby --
Ashley: And it has nothing to do with Victor dying to know what we've got in development here and having his daughter do his dirty work?
Stitch: Yeah, maybe Victor pressured her, all right?
Ashley: Oh, and so Victoria's just so devoted to you now that she's not gonna do her father's bidding? Really?
Stitch: See, that's the tone I was talking about.
Ashley: I'm sorry, but you haven't seen Victoria in action. I have! You haven't seen her working side by side with her father! Isn't she already back at work? The woman just had a baby!
Stitch: Yeah, because she enjoys it.
Ashley: No, she lives for it! She does! And I get that! I came to Genoa City so I could be CEO of Jabot! It's that simple really!
Stitch: I don't know how simple any of this is anymore.
Ashley: Okay. All right, look. Victor wants something that I have, okay? It's not just a game changer. It's a life changer. It could put me in charge of my father's company. So am I territorial about the work we're doing here? You're damn right I am. But that's the only thing I'm territorial about, just so we're clear.
Stitch: Gotcha. Uh... [Laughs] I-I thought all that was about me.
Ashley: It's okay.
Stitch: I'm so sorry. That was stupid.
Ashley: No, no, no. I'm sure that women have fought over you in your life, right? Just not this time.
Stitch: Okay.
Ashley: Not -- not this woman.
Stitch: Okay, we -- we can stop. I'm embarrassed enough.
Ashley: It's all right.
Stitch: Look, and, you know, for the record, um... if there is anybody that doesn't need this perfume, it's you.
Ashley: [Laughs] Thank you. But, you know, everybody should have a chance to use it if they want to, and they're not gonna get that chance if we don't get back to work. I'm going over here and going to work.
Stitch: Right.
Jack: Hey, Abby!
Abby: Mwah!
Jack: Hey, what's going on with you?
Abby: Oh, you know, being fabulous from morning till night. It's not easy. How are you and your bride-to-be?
Jack: The course of true love and all that.
Abby: Messy, huh?
Jack: An understatement.
Abby: Hmm. Well, I guess that's what happens when you wake up from a coma and you're all like, "Someone's eating my porridge and sleeping in my bed." [Chuckles] I probably shouldn't say that in front of Phyllis. She might start calling Kelly Goldilocks. Or maybe I will. I'm kidding. Sort of.
Jack: I'm glad someone finds the humor in all this.
Kelly: Not too many chuckles for you and Phyllis?
Jack: Phyllis and I have been through a lot over the years. This is one more thing. In better news, guess who is Katie's godfather.
Abby: [Gasps] You! Yay! That's -- that's amazing.
Jack: Yeah, I know some people take it as kind of an honorary title, but I take it quite seriously.
Abby: Like how you are with Connor. I mean, it's -- it's still crazy to think that Adam had the brass to ask you, knowing what he did to Delia. And then for him to die and then you actually have to step up. It's not exactly what you expected.
Jack: Yeah, life rarely is what you're expecting. But I am hoping that Billy and Victoria live long and happy lives with all of their children.
Abby: As in, together?
Jack: Well --
Abby: Do you think that's possible? Because I got to say, they belong together. I mean, I can't be the only one that it's obvious to. Billy and Chelsea, Victoria and Ben? Ugh!
Victoria: Hello. Hi.
Jack: Hi.
Victoria: Good morning, Jack.
Abby: Hi.
Victoria: Uh, you. I went to your office.
Abby: Ha. Surprise. I'm not there. What's up?
Victoria: Um... I would like to ask you to be Katie's godmother.
Abby: [Laughs] Yeah, right. No, what -- what can I really help you with?
Jack: I think she's serious, Abby.
Man: Mr. Abbott?
Jack: Yes?
Man: This arrived for you.
Jack: Oh. Thank you.
Victoria: I can't believe you're laughing at me. Are you laughing at me?
Abby: Uh, is everything okay?
Jack: Oh, I'm sure it's just an excuse from my appointment this morning that stood me up.
Abby: Oh. Yeah.
[Jack reads his note: "The woman you love has a surprise waiting for you. See the desk clerk for key to Room #702.]
Stitch: You enjoy it, don't you? The lab. All the details that someone might consider busy work.
Ashley: Yeah. I think chemistry is magical. [Laughs]
Stitch: Magical.
Ashley: Isn't that how you feel about medicine? Isn't that why you want to get back to it as soon as you can?
Stitch: I told you, not until this project is done, and there is no guarantee I can go back. Regardless, this is what has my focus.
Ashley: I know you're invested in our project. But I also know that you're invested in your relationship with Victoria. It concerns me a little bit, that the latter is gonna affect the former.
Stitch: Hey, you have my word. What I have with Victoria won't get in the way of what you want.
[Knock on door]
Ashley: Oh.
Kelly: Hi. Sorry. I hope this is not a bad time. I just need to talk to my brother for a second.
Ashley: Please come on in. Take a break.
Kelly: Thank you. Wow. Ooh. Hey.
Stitch: Hey. What's up?
Kelly: Mom called.
Stitch: She called?
Kelly: Yep. Wouldn't tell me where she was, of course. She's a mess, Ben.
Stitch: Is she sick? Another heart attack?
Kelly: No, no, no. It's nothing like that. She, uh, she actually wants to come forward, confess. But she's not ready yet, of course.
Stitch: Okay. Confessing isn't just a walk, okay? There's a lot more involved. Obstruction charges for Mom at the least, murder charges at the most. Prison -- look, I don't want that for her, Kel. I never did.
Kelly: She took Dad's life and then watched as you gave up yours. I can't forgive her, Ben. And you can't sacrifice one more minute of your life for her sake. It's not right to protect people that selfish!
Stitch: I am so close to having the life I thought I couldn't.
Kelly: And that's great! And that's a good feeling. It's called hope, and we all deserve that.
Stitch: Look, I-I want that for you, too, Kel, okay? And, you know, I'm -- I'm worried about you.
Kelly: Oh, please. I'm fine. I've been through the worst. Anything else happens, I just shake it off. Listen, I got to go. [Chuckles] Ben, everything is going to be fine for both of us. Better than fine, okay? You'll see.
[Knock on door]
Lily: Yes?
Phyllis: Hey. Just set up the suite. It's perfect. Thank you. Just a couple more details, and we're good to go.
Lily: Great. I'm glad we could help.
Phyllis: You helped. You specifically. And I know that's weird because of Kelly. But thank you.
Lily: No, you know what? To be honest, I should have just agreed to your request as soon as you asked me. My friendship with Kelly is beside the point, so I apologize.
Phyllis: She's your friend. Nobody is wishing heartbreak on a friend. Stuff just happens.
Lily: [Chuckles] Yeah, well, to be honest, I knew that Kelly would get hurt when you came back in town. I mean, it's obvious that Jack would want what you two had. I even argued with Devon about it.
Phyllis: He wanted Jack with Kelly?
Lily: No, not that part, but what Jack wanted wasn't even up for debate.
Phyllis: Kelly was your friend, but you knew Jack would choose me anyway.
Lily: Well, I know what true love looks like. And I know that's what you and Jack had. And it's obvious that you still have that. But Kelly has been through a lot the past few years. And Jack made her very happy. And now she has to start all over. I'm not saying this is your problem --
Phyllis: I'm not heartless, Lily. I mean, not completely heartless.
Lily: Maybe you can cut her some slack, then.
Phyllis: What? Like set her up on a date?
Lily: No, but you don't have to keep punishing her.
Phyllis: New Year's Eve was not me punishing her. Kelly is the one who got all the shots in.
Lily: Okay.
Phyllis: Believe me, I'm not used to being on the receiving hand.
Lily: We really don't have to go back and forth on who did what to who.
Phyllis: You know what? You're right. Not another word. I'm done. Thank you for helping me today.
Lily: You're welcome.
Phyllis: And now I have to carry out a very romantic plan.
Lily: Okay.
Phyllis: Thank you!
Lily: Bye.
Jack: I had a quick question about this note you just gave me.
Man: Of course, Mr. Abbott. Uh, oh, these are for you, and your sparkling cider is waiting in your suite.
Jack: In 702. I just wanted to confirm that it was my fiancée that set this up.
Man: Exactly. But it's Suite 802, sir.
[Telephone ringing]
Jack: Hmm. The note says 702.
Man: Perhaps some confusion because of the short notice. My apologies.
Jack: Yeah, yeah, sure. Go ahead.
Gwen: Good morning, Neil.
Neil: Hey. Good morning, Gwen. How are you?
Gwen: It's a wonderful day already.
Neil: Yeah. Is it now?
Gwen: Mm-hmm.
Neil: Is Devon with you?
Gwen: He's just taking care of some business.
Neil: Yeah, I suspect Hilary's doing the same thing. Um, well, why don't you sit down and join me?
Hilary: I have to stand there and smile while Gwen goes on and on. You say that I'm the one that you want, but then you take her to bed. Oh, and not just once.
Devon: What am I supposed to do? Just wait for you and Neil to give me a little baby brother or sister?
Hilary: God, I am not pregnant.
Devon: You're trying to get pregnant. He told Lily. Phyllis knows. He told me.
Hilary: No, I know. It is one lie after another, and I'm not sure how many more lies I can take.
Lily: Uh, Hilary, you have no idea the position you just put me in.
[Door beeps]
[Door closes]
[Jack reads a note in Suite #802: "My love, my lover, take off your clothes and put on the blindfold."
[Water running]
Abby: Godmother? Vicki, I'm not the kind of person that people trust with their child.
Victoria: Are you kidding me? I trusted you to be my birthing coach.
Abby: But that was when she was inside of you, safe, where I couldn't drop her or, I don't know, be a bad role model. I'm not godmother material.
Victoria: Because you won't stand in a church and promise to love her and promise to teach her how to be a decent and loving person?
Abby: That's really sweet. It's -- it's just -- it's the other stuff that worries me. I mean, Uncle Jack, he's -- he's perfect for that. He's a grownup, a good role model. What is Katie gonna learn from me other than the perfect lip color for her skin tone?
Victoria: Don't underestimate the power of a good lip gloss.
Abby: Thank you for thinking of me, but really, you should go on to someone who's more qualified for the godmother position.
Victoria: No. Sorry. It's you, okay, Abby? And I'm not buying this "I am too shallow and not responsible enough." You are tough, you're loyal, and you're alive.
Abby: As in not a zombie? [Chuckles]
Victoria: No, I mean, as in alive, fully and completely. Some people sleepwalk their way through life, but not you. You embrace every moment. You work, you play, you love, you laugh. You are exactly the role model that I want for Katherine.
Abby: Thank you. Can we not tell her about the whole "Naked Heiress" stuff?
Victoria: That goes without saying.
Abby: [Chuckles]
Victoria: But I am serious. I know how much she's gonna admire and love you. I just want to make it official. So just suck it up and say yes, okay?
Abby: I would be honored.
Victoria: Thank you.
Lily: I mean, look, I'm all for helping people out, but giving Jack and Phyllis a suite and then having to look Kelly in the eye? I just -- I feel two-faced.
Hilary: Lily, I'm really sorry that I put you in that position. I wasn't --
Lily: No, it's fine. Whatever. Jack's your boss, Phyllis is his fiancée. I mean, they should be able to have a romantic getaway together. But the look on Kelly's face after I told Phyllis I'd help her...
Devon: You think Jack should have chosen Kelly?
Lily: It doesn't matter if it was Kelly or Phyllis. Not the point. The point is that two people in love with the same person is not gonna end well.
Hilary: Um, you know, I have a lot more things on Phyllis' to-do list. Um, do you think you can tell Neil that I'll just be a few more minutes?
Lily: Well, looks like he's already occupied. Good job, Devon. You picked a girl that Dad likes.
Neil: So, Gwen, I know that we haven't spent that much time together, but, uh, I'm gonna ask you something, and I want you to be totally honest with me, all right?
Gwen: Of course.
Neil: Recently I overheard a very intense conversation that you were having with Devon.
Gwen: How much did you hear?
Neil: Just the tail end. But, um, I guess now this is the part of the story where you tell me it's none of my business.
Gwen: But it is your business, really. And the truth is, your son's been lying to you.
[Door beeps]
[Phyllis walks into Suite #702]
[Door closes]
[Music plays]
Jack: Hello.
Kelly: What --
Jack: Kelly, what are you doing?
Kelly: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I do something wrong? I-I don't understand.
Jack: I knew I should have trusted my gut instead of that desk clerk.
Kelly: I thought -- I thought this is what you wanted.
Jack: How did you think that?! I have explained this to you how many times?
Kelly: Jack, why are you acting this way?
Jack: How do you expect me to act? You just want me to cheat on my fiancée just like that?
Kelly: This is sick! You brought me here just to break my heart all over again?!
Jack: Wait a minute. I brought you here?
Kelly: I got your message to meet you here!
Neil: Devon is lying to me?
Gwen: I didn't know Devon before the inheritance, but I see the way people look at him, the way that they talk to him, you know, with awe and respect and that look in their eye like what can they get out of him. I heard about the model and the expensive car, and it's no surprise if he has trust issues when women are just after his wallet.
Neil: Yeah, I-I didn't think you were that kind of woman.
Gwen: 'Cause I'm not. I have a good job, I have a great life, and going out with Devon was just me doing a favor for a friend.
Neil: All right, I'm -- I'm hearing the words, but I'm not following you.
Gwen: Well, the first time I met you, I didn't know Devon. Our whole relationship was a lie.
Neil: Why would he fake something like that?
Gwen: So you wouldn't worry about him. You know, I think the truth is, is he worries about you, too.
Neil: [Sighs] [Sighs] I-I thought we were over and done with that a long time ago. I mean, why would he lie? Why would he force you to lie? I don't understand any of this.
Gwen: No, that's my point. It's not a lie anymore. Things between Devon and I have changed, and it's real now, and it's amazing. And I can't tell you how happy I am.
Devon: All this stuff about you trying to get pregnant and have a baby, these people are making that up? That's a lie?
Hilary: Neil is filled with all this hope for the future, okay? Sighted or not, he wants to start our lives together. And for him, that means a baby. What am I supposed to say? "I'm sorry, no. I'm in love with someone else"?
Devon: What did you tell him, then?
Hilary: I told him... I made him think that I went off my birth control pills. It's one lie after another for me, and meanwhile you were sleeping with Gwen!
Devon: This isn't the first time that I heard about you trying to get pregnant. Neil told me just the other day you threw away your pills. Yeah, I went to Gwen because when I heard that, all I could think is that you're ready to have a life with him and not with me. I'm sorry.
Hilary: Don't apologize. You're free. I'm the one who's breaking my vows. [Voice breaking] And I'm the one who's breaking everything with you every time I go back to Neil.
Devon: Listen, hey, hey. Let's go to my office. Let's go to my office.
Hilary: No, no! I can't keep falling apart, and you can't keep comforting me. This is my fault. I have to own it. I have to suffer if that's what it takes, 'cause I am not gonna let Neil drink again, okay? Not because of me.
Devon: You're gonna end up hating me eventually. And I can't have that happen.
Hilary: Never. Just... talking to you, looking into your eyes, hearing your voice... God help me. It makes it all worth it.
Devon: We need to get the hell out of here and get out of town.
Hilary: No, we can't. You remember what happened last time with Cane --
Devon: It's not gonna be like that, 'cause I'm not talking about going away and having sex. I just want to be alone with you and talk to you. Can we please do that? Can you get away?
Ashley: Look at the saturation point.
Stitch: Yeah, it's the same as the last six tests.
Ashley: Exactly! So we have the concentration levels we've been shooting for.
Stitch: That is what I'm talking about, huh? Are you gonna -- gonna leave me hanging?
Ashley: Oh!
Stitch: Boom.
Ashley: Boom!
Stitch: Did you just "Top Gun" me?!
Ashley: I did.
Stitch: You "Top Gunned" me!
Ashley: We've got to celebrate! Are you kidding we're getting closer every day.
Stitch: I guess chemistry is magic.
Ashley: I told you. I'm really proud of us. We didn't let what happened that night...get in the way, you know? We didn't ruin anything.
Stitch: [Chuckles]
Victoria: Oh, thank you. That is some high-tech lock. Nobody's getting through that door.
Ashley: Hello again, Victoria.
Victoria: Hello. I know, I know. I'm on enemy territory, but I'm not here to steal a sample or plant a bug or anything. I came back because, um --
Stitch: Let me guess.
Victoria: I --
Stitch: For this?
Victoria: [Chuckles]
Stitch: I found it on the floor after you left.
Victoria: Thank you. One warm hand is no good in Wisconsin.
Ashley: Lucky you. Ben's got you covered.
Victoria: He sure does. I've just been really scattered lately. Post-baby brain, I guess.
Ashley: I know. It happens to the best of us, right?
Victoria: Hmm.
Stitch: Hey, let me, uh, let me walk you out.
Victoria: Sure.
Ashley: Bye. Scattered, my ass. You know exactly what you're doing.
Devon: I don't want to put more pressure on you by making these demands, but I just --
Hilary: Okay. This... this is what keeps me going. Just the thought of one moment with you. I'll find a way to meet you.
Devon: Thank you. And it's like I said. I just want to talk to you, okay? There is nobody in this world that I want more than you, Hilary. And there never will be.
Hilary: I do dream of having a baby, Devon. But every time I picture a child in my arms... the father's always you.
Gwen: It's clear how much you love your family. If I've overstepped --
Neil: Hey, Gwen. Let me tell you something. There's nothing more valuable than honesty. And I appreciate that. And you know what else I appreciate? The fact that you've cared for my son. All I want for Devon is happiness and stability, and I know firsthand all that falls into place once you've found the right person.
Gwen: I should get to work.
Neil: Yeah.
Gwen: Take care, Neil.
Neil: You, too. Thanks for the talk.
[Cell phone rings]
[Package rustling]
Kelly: You invited me here. You arranged all this. You let me think that we could have a chance. Why, Jack? Why? Do you just want to humiliate me? Is that what it means being engaged to Phyllis? Suddenly you're -- you're hurtful just for kicks?
Jack: Don't act all innocent on me now.
Kelly: Jack, the roses! The roses on the bed -- that was your thing. That was our thing. That was the way that you charmed me. If you didn't set all this up, who knew about the roses?
Jack: Obviously you.
Kelly: No! I didn't do this! Why would I do this?! Why would I torture myself, let myself be so close to you just to have you reject me?!
Jack: [Sighs]
Kelly: Jack, baby, if you tell me that you didn't do this, then I-I believe you, okay? Just please -- please tell me you believe me when I say I didn't do it, either, okay?
Phyllis: Oh, hell no.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Neil: Your birth control pills still in your bag.
Avery: That was the mayor's chief of staff. They put a hold on the sale.
Dylan: Yes!
Victor: McAvoy's no longer your problem.
Joe: What's that supposed to mean?
Victor: Because I'll take care of him.
