Episode # 10574 ~ Sharon receives help from an unexpected ally, while Nick reaches out to Adam/Gabriel.

Provided By Suzanne

Kevin: Huh. Is that a new birthday tradition I didn't know about?

Austin: It's -- it's not what you think. Look, we never --

Mariah: It was one kiss. It was my idea.

Kevin: Why?

Mariah: I just wanted to. And I liked it.

Summer: You...liked what?

Sharon: Voicemail again. I wish Mariah would give me a chance to explain.

Noah: Mom, she will.

Sharon: I just wanted this to be such a special birthday for her, and now she thinks I'm giving her Cassie's seconds? [Sighs] Maybe it was too much too soon?

Noah: You can't second-guess something that came from your heart, especially now that you have a job interview to prepare for.

Sharon: You're right. I need to focus, and I need to get my things together.

Noah: What is this job, anyways? You never did tell me.

Sharon: Um, it's a modeling position. It's for dress fitting.

Noah: Oh. That's...

Sharon: Okay. Go ahead. Say it. It's a big step down. But it's available, and I need to show the judge that I am employed when I face your father in court. My whole future with faith is riding on it.

Billy: Hey, Chelsea. I'm gonna take off. I'll be back, um... a lot sooner than I planned. That's a nice view. What are you doing down there? Lose one of your sketches?

Chelsea: No, I'm looking for a car.

Billy: That makes perfect sense.

Chelsea: Connor's toy car. He's been asking for it all morning. I have no idea where it went. I could have sworn it was right here yesterday. [Sighs] I mean, it's not like the thing just rolled off on its own. [Sighs]

Adam: [Imitates car noise]

[Footsteps]

Sage: We got a -- you gonna stare at that thing all night long?

Adam: Only if it really bothers you.

Sage: [Chuckles] So, uh, we have to go through this estate paperwork. Constance would have wanted it sort it out as soon as possible, so... I could build you a racetrack, that way you could play with that all day long.

Adam: You know what? If you had a kid that you couldn't be with, you'd want to hold onto something of theirs, too.

Sage: Well, Chelsea's gonna know that it's missing.

Adam: Toys go missing all the time.

Sage: Well, you shouldn't have gone over there.

Adam: Oh, I had a perfectly good excuse.

Sage: That you just happened to be in an apartment building that you wanted to rent for yourself and you just happened to see Chelsea? Right. I can't believe she didn't see through that.

Adam: Well, maybe she doesn't want to see through it, you know? Maybe she's looking for a reason to be with me.

Sage: Totally. That's why she has another man in her bed.

Adam: Well, that's not gonna last. No, she doesn't love him this much.

Sage: I know, I know. She loves you. But, oops, you're dead.

Adam: You know what? That place looked identical to the way it did when I lived in it. What does that tell you?

Sage: It tells me that you're obsessing about the past and you need to be present now. We have things to do. We have a funeral to plan. Did you forget that the minister's gonna come over here and discuss the service tonight?

Adam: He's coming over tonight?!

Sage: Yes.

Adam: Ugh! That's not gonna give me enough time to play with my car, Sage!

Sage: You know what? This minister married Gabriel's parents. This minister baptized Gabriel. He knows Gabriel. So you need to stop thinking about Adam Newman. You need to start acting like Gabriel Bingham or this whole plan of ours is gonna fall apart.

Nick: Yes, hello. Um, I would like to get some flowers delivered as soon as possible. Actually, you know what? I've got a better idea.

Summer: What were you guys talking about? Well, from the looks on your faces, I obviously missed something pretty big.

Kevin: Mariah... walked out on a party that Sharon threw for her, and then had the nerve to say she enjoyed doing it.

Mariah: [Scoffs] It wasn't a party for me. It was for Cassie, like I'm some clone or something.

Austin: Well, um... I'm sorry to hear that, but, uh, happy birthday.

Summer: Yeah. Whoo-hoo.

Mariah: Thanks. I'm touched.

Summer: Sorry I couldn't make it to the party at Sharon's. Sounds like a total blast.

Mariah: Well, you know, it's understandable, Summer, since you have so much to occupy your time. It must be really hard deciding which nail salon to go to today.

Kevin: Mariah, I think it's time for us to go.

Summer: You know, not that it's any of your business, but I actually have a lot on my mind that I needed to talk about with my husband.

Mariah: Talk away.

Summer: Why are you here, anyways? You're not working. If you need to go cry about how lousy your birthday was, you can go do it somewhere else.

Mariah: [Chuckles]

Austin: Look, you really should go.

Mariah: [Chuckling] Wait. Am I being kicked out of my place of employment?

Summer: You're not working. You have no reason to be here.

Mariah: And you do? Can I see your I.D., Snowflake?

Austin: Okay, look, you just need to go, all right? Celebrate your birthday somewhere else.

Mariah: You know, Austin, I can usually count on you to be reasonable, but if you're turning on me.

Kevin: Oh, I think he's being pretty reasonable right now.

Mariah: Fine. I'm out of here. You all can relax. I'm leaving.

Kevin: I'm gonna go make sure she doesn't do something else she'll regret. Mariah.

Summer: I wonder what he meant by that.

Chelsea: No luck. How about you?

Billy: Does an old binkie count?

Chelsea: Unless it's got four wheels, Connor isn't interested.

Billy: Did you check upstairs?

Chelsea: Yeah, it's not up there, either. You know what? Don't worry about it. You go out. You don't want to keep Jack waiting.

Billy: All right, well, I'll see you later.

Chelsea: Okay, bye.

[Cell phone rings]

Chelsea: Oh. Hey. What's up? Oh, no. Yeah, sure. No, no, don't worry about it. I'll take care of it. Just, uh, just feel better, okay? Okay. Bye.

Billy: What's the matter? Somebody sick?

Chelsea: Graham. He's supposed to do those interviews tonight. So I guess I'll just go over there. I just have to call Amanda and see if she can watch Connor.

Billy: No, you don't need Amanda.

Chelsea: No, no, no. Billy, you're not canceling your plans.

Billy: Don't need to. I can just have Jack come over here.

Chelsea: Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I owe you one.

Billy: Good luck with the interviews.

Chelsea: Oh, I don't need any luck. It's pretty straightforward.

Billy: Right. So, sick assistant, missing toy. What else could go wrong, right?

Sharon: [Sighs] Please don't worry. I know I can do this.

Noah: I know you can. Be yourself. They're gonna love you.

Sharon: Well, I think you're a little bit bias, but still nice to hear.

Noah: I know it seems like there's a lot of people against you right now.

Sharon: There are a lot of people against me.

Noah: That's gonna change.

Sharon: You think so?

Noah: Yes, I do. You are too good of a person to be on the outs for long.

Sharon: Thank you.

Noah: I love you, mom. And no matter what happens, faith will always love you, too.

Sharon: Sweetheart. Love you. [Sighs]

Sage: [Sighs] Nick. Hi.

Nick: Wow. Of all people to answer the door.

Sage: Yeah. Well, I guess we shouldn't be surprised. This is how it seems to go with us.

Nick: Yeah, it is. I just wanted to come by and offer Gabe my condolences.

Sage: Oh. I'm so sorry. Uh, we weren't expecting visitors at this hour.

Nick: Yeah, I was kind of at lose ends and, uh, I figured Gabe wouldn't mind if I came by this late. I mean, he's such a night owl.

Sage: Oh. Actually, he, uh, he's not around.

Adam: Sage, I thought I heard the door. Is that the minis...ter.

Nick: Uh, no. Just me.

Adam: Well, Sage, you didn't tell me we had company.

Sage: I didn't know you were home. How long have you been here?

Adam: 20 minutes.

Sage: No wonder. I was up in the attic, looking for some old pictures of Constance to display at the funeral.

Nick: Gabe, I'm so sorry. I know how important your grandmother was to you.

Adam: Yeah, no. She was -- she was definitely one of a kind, you know?

Sage: Yeah.

Adam: I wish I had some more time with her. It goes by so quickly, doesn't it?

Sage: It's how it seems.

Adam: Like a blink of an eye.

Sage: Right. No matter how long someone you love is with you, it's never enough.

Nick: I've been there.

Adam: Well, listen, I appreciate you coming all this way to pay your respects. How did you know we were here, by the way?

Nick: Well, I've actually been here before not too long ago.

Adam: Really?

Nick: Yeah. I saw your grandmother. Although I didn't know that's who she was at the time. It took a picture in the obituary for me to put the connection together.

Sage: These flowers are so beautiful. Can I? Please?

Nick: Oh, yes.

Sage: I will, uh, put them on the table and add some fresh water a little bit later.

Nick: Okay.

Adam: Well, I really appreciate the gesture. I can't tell you what your support means to me.

Nick: Yeah, sure. Um, I also wanted to write your grandmother's charity a check in her name.

Adam: Well, that's very sweet.

Nick: It's, uh, freezing out here. Could I, uh, maybe come in? I also need to use a pen. I could write that check.

Adam: Come on in. Yeah, no. Let's do that. It's a good idea.

Summer: Hey, what do you say we go someplace we won't be interrupted. Like our bed.

Austin: There's, um, there's something you need to know first.

Summer: Oh, please don't tell me that you have to work late again on inventory. I can talk to my dad, you know? Tell him that we need some down time.

Austin: That's not it.

Summer: What is it?

Austin: What Kevin said before about Mariah, it's only half the story.

Summer: God. What did she do? Follow in her mother's footsteps and burn down someone's house.

Austin: She, uh... kissed me.

Summer: I don't get it. That's -- that's not funny.

Austin: It's not meant to be.

Summer: That skanky little --

Austin: No, where are you going?

Summer: Where do you think I'm going?

Austin: Okay, listen. No, stop. Stop. Stop.

Summer: What?

Austin: Okay, you can't leave until you hear the whole story.

Kevin: Will you slow down already?

Mariah: I didn't want you to follow me. Coffee, please.

Kevin: Well, I care too much about this town to let you loose on it.

Mariah: I didn't know you were so civic minded. Maybe the mayor should give you a medal.

Kevin: Someone should give me a medal for putting up with you.

Mariah: Well, if I'm such a hassle, then why don't you go? I don't want you here, anyway.

Kevin: Too bad. I'm not leaving you alone. Not after what you just pulled.

Billy: Yeah, yeah, just come on over whenever you can. Connor is out like a light. We'll have plenty of time to talk. All right, Jack. Later.

[Doorbell rings]

Jeff: Chelsea, honey, I -- oh. It's you.

Billy: Well, you had a 50/50 chance of getting me. I do live here, you know.

Jeff: On my daughter's dime. Where is she?

Billy: She's at work, unlike some people. Was she expecting you?

Jeff: No, but there is a matter we need to discuss. Ah. I think I'll just make myself at home and wait for her to get back.

Billy: [Sighs]

Jeff: [Laughs] You don't mind, do you?

Billy: That all depends on what this matter is.

Jeff: Well, I assume Chelsea told you that she asked me to drop my lawsuit against the hospital.

Billy: Yeah, she felt that stitch was in enough trouble without you filing a malpractice claim.

Jeff: My kid is all heart. Takes after her dad.

Billy: Uh-huh. Is that why you finagled a hefty payment out of her in exchange for dropping this?

Jeff: Half a payment. She promised me the other half as soon as the legalities are over and done with, which they are.

Billy: I see. So you're here to collect on the other half of the bribe money.

Jeff: Ooh. I prefer to look at it as a very appropriate donation on my behalf. After all, I could have been incapacitated by that charlatan doctor.

Billy: You had hemorrhoids, Jeffrey. It was hardly life threatening, and stitch did graduate from medical school, you know?

Jeff: Yeah, under an assumed name. You know, any way you look at it, it's fishy. And I have no doubt that the court would have awarded me a fortune if I had stuck with my lawsuit. But how could I turn down my baby's generous offer?

Billy: It was too generous. I'm not gonna let you take advantage of her anymore.

Jeff: Hey. A deal's a deal.

Billy: Fine. Then I'll pay the other half. Just leave Chelsea out of it.

Jeff: Works for me. Nice doing business with you.

Billy: You know, you should be ashamed of yourself. When she came to you, you should have just done what she asked. No strings attached.

Jeff: Look. [Scoffs] For your information, she practically threw that money at me. You want to know why? Because she wanted Dr. Rayburn or Rayban or whatever his name is free to date Victoria, in order to keep him away from you.

Billy: She said that?

Jeff: No. She didn't have to. I know my daughter. You know, and she sounded like a woman who wasn't feeling all that secure in her relationship. Now, why do you think that is?

Chelsea: You're not exactly what we're looking for, but if anything comes up, I will definitely let you know. Thanks.

Sharon: Hi.

Chelsea: I'll be right with you.

Sharon: Uh, that's okay. Take your time.

Chelsea: Sharon. What are you doing here?

Sharon: I'm here for the job interview. For the dress-fitting model? It's still available, isn't it?

Chelsea: Um, well, yeah, but... I don't know if you realize, whoever we hire is going to be working directly with me. Maybe we didn't make that clear in the job description.

Sharon: Nope. I got that.

Chelsea: And that didn't put you off?

Sharon: Well, I'm qualified for the job.

Chelsea: No, I mean, you're more than qualified. That's -- that's why -- I'm sorry. I don't understand.

Sharon: Actually, I thought I might be meeting with your assistant, and I was hoping that I could win him over and he might act as an intermediary between the two of us, sort of smooth things over, you know?

Chelsea: You must really need a job.

Sharon: [Sighs] Could we just go ahead with the interview?

Chelsea: I'm sorry, Sharon. I don't think it's a good idea.

Billy: You're kidding, right? You actually think you can read Chelsea?

Jeff: I happen to have excellent observation skills.

Billy: [Laughs] Yeah, if somebody drops loose change on the ground out of their pocket, you're all over that. But person-to-person contact?

Jeff: I know what I know.

Billy: Then you should know that Chelsea is perfectly satisfied in this relationship.

Jeff: Mm. What about you? You satisfied?

Billy: Completely.

Jeff: And if Victoria suddenly dumped Dr. Stitches and was available?

Billy: I would stay right where I am.

Jeff: Because it's easy.

Billy: What does that mean?

Jeff: You got no real ties, no responsibilities like you did when you were married to Victoria.

Billy: Oh, so you're saying I'm not committed.

Jeff: I'm saying why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

Billy: Geez. Congratulations, Jeffrey. You have officially reached an all-time low. I would never use Chelsea like that.

Jeff: No? Then what are your plans? You gonna make an honest woman of my daughter or not?

Sharon: You won't even hear me out?

Chelsea: I don't see the point. I just can't envision us working comfortably together.

Sharon: I do. I know we can. Other people get past their differences.

Chelsea: Sharon, we have had a lot more than just differences.

Sharon: I was a different person then. I can't believe some of the things that I did. Making a play for Adam. Keeping him away from you. I hope you know that none of that would have happened if I'd been thinking straight. There's so much that I wish I could change. Nick and Summer are barely speaking to me. I, uh... I lost my job at Jabot. Jack gave me a recommendation, but no one will take me on.

Chelsea: For right now. All the talk, it will die down, and you'll be able to find work in time.

Sharon: No, I don't have time. Nick is petitioning for full custody of faith, and if I can't show the court that I can provide a stable home for her, he'll win.

Chelsea: Sharon, this job is just for a few hours a week.

Sharon: No, but that's perfect, because I'll have a steady paycheck and I'll still be available for faith. Please just give me a chance? To show them that people are willing to forgive me, even if nick won't. [Voice breaking] I already lost him. I can't -- I can't lose my little girl, too.

Chelsea: Here, here.

Sharon: Thank you. I'm sorry. I don't -- I don't mean to break down.

Chelsea: No, it's okay. I understand. I've been there. When Adam threatened to take Connor from me, oh, my God, I remember just wanting to take my baby and hold him so tight so no one could even touch him. I'm very lucky that Adam eventually realized we belonged together.

Sharon: I'm glad you had that time with him. And I could tell he was really happy.

Chelsea: Yeah, we all were. Great. Now you have -- now you have me doing it.

Sharon: Oh, here!

Chelsea: [Sniffles] Thank you.

Sharon: Are you okay?

Chelsea: Yeah. Surprisingly, I am. Um...thanks to Billy. [Chuckles] I'm okay. You didn't hear that, Adam. [Chuckles] I don't think he would be happy with who I ended up with.

Sharon: I know that Adam wasn't a fan of Billy's, but... I think he would want you and Connor to move on and have a happy life. That's what I want for me and faith. Won't you please help me do that?

Nick: Here you go.

Adam: Oh, I mean, that's very generous of you. Grandmother would have appreciated that. Thank you.

Nick: It's the least I could do, considering how long we've known each other. And plus I still feel like I owe Sage.

Sage: No, you've really thanked me enough.

Nick: Not as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you.

Adam: She's a real hero.

Nick: Something tells me she's not the only one.

Adam: What do you mean?

Nick: You know, that night, I was pretty out of it, still kind of putting the pieces together. But after running into you the other day and then seeing the two of you together like this, I'm sure that you were the one in the woods with Sage that day, weren't you?

Adam: You got me. You got me. [Chuckles]

Nick: Why wouldn't you just say that? I mean, I know the limelight was never your thing, but --

[Doorbell rings]

Adam: Doorbell. It might be the, uh, minister. Excuse me.

Nick: He couldn't get out of here fast enough.

Sage: [Chuckles]

Nick: I guess that's his thing, taking off?

Sage: Oh. You mean because he left you in the trap. Yeah, he was actually just hurrying back here for Constance. I was, too, actually. We were walking in the woods and he got a phone call that his grandmother was feeling short of breath, and he got frantic that that might be the end for her.

Nick: Why wouldn't he just say that?

Sage: Oh, I don't know. Maybe he just felt like he was abandoning you.

Nick: But he left you there to take care of me.

Sage: Yeah. I know. But, you know, in Gabriel's mind, it wasn't enough. He's a very tough man. Takes after Constance that way.

Nick: You know, that's another thing that I'm confused about. I told you I came here looking for you but was turned away by some older lady. How come you never told me she was your guardian or that she was Gabriel's grandmother? Why would you keep that from me?

Nick: Uh... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sure talking about Mrs. Bingham right now is pretty hard for you. I'm just trying to figure out why you weren't straight with me. I thought we were building a nice friendship here.

Sage: We are. I just, uh... you know, it's new. We don't really know each other all that well, and the Binghams are very private people.

Nick: Yeah, so you didn't feel like it was your place to talk about your relationship with the Binghams.

Sage: Right.

Nick: Or the fact that you live here.

Sage: What? I live here? What do you mean? Why would you say that?

Nick: Well, earlier, you said "we weren't expecting anyone." And you seem to have the run of the place. And when we were walking here in the hallway, I saw some mail addressed to you and Gabe jointly.

Sage: Boy, you're a regular Sherlock Holmes, aren't you?

Nick: [Chuckles] If I was Sherlock, I'd have this whole mystery solved by now.

Sage: [Laughing] Mystery? What mystery?

Nick: Well, why you keep calling Gabe your friend, yet you obviously live here with him.

Adam: Well, I can answer that. Yeah.

Chelsea: [Sighs] Sharon, there have been times over these past few years where I would have been thrilled to see you down on your luck like this.

Sharon: I hope now is not one of those times.

Chelsea: It's not. Adam cared for you very deeply. He would have wanted me to give you a job, so... consider yourself hired.

Sharon: [Gasps] What? Oh, my God, Chelsea! Thank you! Oh, my gosh! Thank you so much! I -- I -- you know what? I don't know how I'm ever gonna repay you, but I promise you that I will be the best, most loyal employee you have ever had.

Chelsea: Just, you know, be professional, show up on time, and take care of yourself. And your daughter.

Sharon: Always. I promise.

Billy: So, why is it so important that Chelsea and I make it legal? I mean, what difference does it make to -- damn it, Jeffrey! Do you ever think about anything other than money?

Jeff: Who said anything about money?

Billy: Those dollar signs in your eyes are speaking a lot louder than words. Isn't it enough that Chelsea already has a Newman inheritance? Does she need an Abbott one, too?

Jeff: Look, you don't get to ask a question until you answer mine first. Do you intend to marry my daughter some day?

Billy: That is for me and Chelsea to discuss.

Jeff: So there is a possibility.

Billy: I'll be damned if I'm gonna talk to you about it.

Jeff: All right, I won't push it. But you better not break my kid's heart.

Mariah: I do not need a lecture, and I don't need you covering to Summer for me.

Kevin: Oh, sure, because telling Summer you kissed her husband was gonna make things so much easier for you.

Mariah: Like you really care about my saving face. What you care about is my sucking face.

Kevin: What?

Mariah: You're mad that I kissed Austin, so why don't you just admit it and go so we can stop with this stupid friend thing we've been playing at?

Kevin: Hold up. The only one who's playing here is you. So why don't you admit the real reason you kissed Austin.

Summer: What more could there be? Mariah kissed you. End of story. Right? Unless you want to tell me why you didn't speak up earlier when I asked you what was going on.

Austin: I was going to, but Kevin didn't give me a chance.

Summer: You knew that Kevin was covering. Why didn't you call him on it?

Austin: 'Cause I know how upset he is. I didn't want to add insult to injury.

Summer: What about injury to me?

Austin: I figured why make it worse? You would have just gone off on Mariah.

Summer: Oh, so you were protecting Mariah.

Austin: I was looking out for everybody, okay? And what good would another fight be? She was just upset and acting out.

Summer: Oh, my God, Austin! You make this kiss seem like no big deal! How would you feel if a guy kissed me and I just said, "don't worry about it. He was just having a bad day"?

Austin: [Sighs] You're right, okay? What she did was wrong. And I will tell her that it can never happen again. But you need to know it meant nothing. Summer. Babe. The kiss meant nothing to me. You believe me, don't you?

Mariah: I am so done with this. I have been picked apart and analyzed all of my life, and I am not gonna let somebody do that to me again. You're not my path leader. You're not my therapist. You're not even my boyfriend. You don't know who or what I am.

Kevin: I don't think you do, either. It's not a criticism, and I don't want to push you anywhere you don't want to go.

Mariah: Don't you?

Kevin: All right, maybe I do. But I am not Ian or anyone else who is trying to run your life. I care about you. Legitimately. And I hate to see you do this to yourself.

Mariah: What? Protecting myself?

Kevin: To the extreme. Yeah, I get it. I do! I -- I told you about my dad and what he used to do to me. And as scary as it was being locked in that closet, it was safer than what was on the outside. You know, you can't spend your whole life not trusting anyone or relying on anyone and then just flip a switch and trust that people actually give a damn about you. But people give a damn about you. You have Sharon and nick and faith and Noah. And me.

Mariah: It's just too much. Everything is. The birthday party, the necklace from Sharon. I don't want it. So would you please just go?

Kevin: Look, I know how hard it is. It's scary. I mean, who would think that loving someone or being loved in return would hurt so much? It's so much easier to just put walls up, to run, to go after a married man, or someone like Tyler, who's more into himself than anyone.

Mariah: I can't help what I like.

Kevin: Oh, you like being dismissed? You like being mistreated and spat out, treated like you're worthless? You're not worthless. You're just too scared to figure that out for yourself.

Mariah: I'm not scared.

Kevin: Then stop chasing people who are never gonna love you and go after something that's real.

Mariah: Why? Because that's worked out so well for you?

Kevin: At least I've been willing to give it a chance. You deserve to be loved. And I can tell you that a thousand times, but it won't matter unless you admit to yourself what it is you really want.

Summer: I believe you. I don't think you're interested in Mariah, but Mariah --

Austin: Isn't interested in me, either. I guarantee that there's nothing going on between us. She just wanted to act out and I was the first guy she ran into.

[Clatter]

Abby: Ow!

Austin: Hello? Who's there?

Summer: Abby?

Abby: Hi! Hi. Um, someone left some dirty glasses out there. It's like a whole tray. [Chuckles]

Austin: Yeah, that happens. It's a bar.

Abby: Yeah, well, the good news is you don't have to wash those now.

Austin: I'll clean it up.

Summer: What are you doing here?

Abby: Oh, I'm just meeting some friends.

Summer: Oh. Who?

Abby: Just some people from the office. You don't know them.

Summer: I know a lot of people from Jabot. Who is it?

Abby: Oh, that doesn't really matter, now, does it? Um, where is everyone?

Summer: Oh, I, uh, paid all the customers' tabs and sent them home. So I could get some quality alone time with my husband.

Abby: Oh. [Chuckles] That sounds like something I would do. Oh, my gosh. I am so sorry. I am interrupting. [Chuckles]

Summer: No, it's fine. The night was already interrupted by your pal Mariah.

Abby: Mariah? Is she here?

Summer: Nope. She left. Not before kissing Austin, though.

Jeff: Sorry it has to be "hi" and "bye," but Glo-worm and I are going out to celebrate. Bye, kiddies.

Chelsea: I'm pretty sure I don't want to know, but celebrate what?

Billy: I gave him the other half of the money that you promised him for dropping the lawsuit.

Chelsea: What? No! Why? You didn't have to do that.

Billy: I know, but you made that deal with your dad as a favor to me, remember? Of course, Jeff made it sound like it was an act of desperation on your part, trying to keep stitch in Victoria's life so that I wouldn't make a play for her.

Chelsea: [Sighs] Oh, my God. Why doesn't my father ever shut his mouth?

Billy: Well, hopefully, I shut it for him. I made it perfectly clear that this is exactly where I want to be. You do know that, don't you?

Chelsea: Yes. You remind me every day. So...how was your time with Jack?

Billy: Well, actually, he hasn't shown up yet. How about you? How'd the interviews go?

Chelsea: Well, not exactly how I had expected. I hired Sharon.

Billy: Sharon Newman Sharon?

Chelsea: Yeah, it's a long story, but it was the right thing to do.

[Connor fussing on monitor]

Chelsea: [Chuckles] Oh. Actually, this sweet boy is part of the reason I decided to help her. I lied about who Connor's father was, and I had to pay a heavy price for it. Adam was able to forgive me for that, so... [Sighs] If he could do that, I can be forgiving and understanding, too.

Sage: Is that the minister?

Adam: No, it was actually just another flower delivery. But getting back to your question, the reason why Sage calls me her friend is because I am one. And, yes, we do, you know, live here together, but it's probably not -- not in the way that you're thinking.

Sage: I was raised here.

Adam: And I just moved back to keep an eye on my grandmother. So there you have it. A big mystery. You know what? It's none of my business. I didn't mean to pry. Honestly, I just came here to extend my sympathies. Bingo, if you need anything, you need to talk, I'm here, all right? I mean, the stories you used to tell about your grandma, she was so amazing, and all the times she rescued you. And, you know, I'm -- [Chuckles] I'm dying to know. Is she the one who bailed you out of the Juliet incident? I mean, was it her?

Abby: This is unacceptable. She can't just go around kissing other people's husbands, especially yours. The betrayal!

Summer: Austin isn't worried about it.

Abby: Of course not. That's because he doesn't know Mariah's history. She started slowly with me and Tyler, and then it was a full-blown assault on our relationship, which you may have noticed, is over.

Summer: I don't -- I think she's just trying to cause trouble.

Abby: Yeah. That's what she does.

Summer: Yeah. But I trust him.

Abby: How could you let this happen?

Austin: You're the one who broke the glasses.

Abby: Mariah. The fact that her lips touched yours is a crime against humanity.

Austin: That's a little extreme.

Abby: Is it? Is it really? [Scoffs] Be on guard. Keep an eye on her. Love you both.

Austin: What was that?

Summer: [Sighs] That was just Abby being Abby.

Austin: You're not gonna just buy into anything she said, are you?

Summer: Look, I know that Mariah was just acting out and I know that you're not going to go cheat on me with her, but you can't just expect me to sit there and take it.

Austin: No, but you can't go off on her. That will just rile her up more.

Summer: Come on. Can't I just play into it a little bit?

Austin: Look, we had this amazing night together. Don't let Mariah ruin that. Don't let her have that power over you -- over us.

Summer: Fine. I won't. It's not worth it.

Austin: I love you.

Summer: I love you, too.

Austin: Okay. You want to go home and pick up where we left off?

[Both chuckle]

Kevin: Go on. Let me have it. Tell me how wrong I was about everything.

Mariah: Maybe not about everything. I might possibly be scared of something real.

Kevin: I'm scared, too. Love is risky. Sometimes you meet somebody, though, and it's worth the risk.

Mariah: Do you think you'll ever meet someone like that?

Kevin: I might someday. You might, too.

Noah: Way to go, mom! See, I knew you'd get the job!

Sharon: Oh, thank God, right? I may actually have a chance of winning custody now. I'm gonna call my lawyer and tell him the good news.

Noah: Really? What is it good news now that you and dad are fighting over faith?

Sharon: Well, that's what's at stake. Thanks to your father. And I hate that it's come to this, too. But if he won't back down, then I can't, either. I have to do everything I can to fight for faith.

Billy: Hey. Everything okay?

Chelsea: Yeah. Connor just wanted some water.

Billy: Is he fast asleep now? He went down pretty easily for me earlier.

Chelsea: Yeah, he told me that you read him a book. Actually, his exact words were, "daddy read book."

Billy: [Chuckles] He called me daddy?

Chelsea: Yeah, it just came right out.

Billy: How do you feel about that?

Adam: The Juliet incident? Yeah. That was really something.

Nick: [Chuckles] To say the least.

Adam: Yeah. So, she was a -- a hell of a girl.

Nick: What? Excuse me? Juliet was a sailboat. I can't believe you don't remember that. The Gabriel Bingham I knew would never forget that.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Adam: She was a hell of a girl.

Nick: Juliet was a sailboat. I can't believe you don't remember that.

Billy: I'm getting my tattooed one removed. Connor is even calling me daddy.

Jack: Don't get too attached.

Dylan: Is this really about money or is it about your wife having a son with Paul Williams?
