Episode # 10571 ~ Kevin calls Michael's bluff, Gwen seduces Devon, and Billy & Chelsea struggle with their pasts.

Avery: What do you think you're doing?

Joe: Conducting business.

Avery: Why did you lock the door?

Joe: Because I wanted some privacy.

Avery: The seller's not coming, is he? This was an excuse to get me alone with you.

Dylan: Thank you so much for hearing my side. I really appreciate it.

Sharon: Was that Casey Emerson from the chronicle?

Dylan: Yeah. He just interviewed me for an article he's doing on the redevelopment project for this area.

Sharon: Well, I hope that helps your cause.

Dylan: Yes, me too, because we're running out of options.

Sharon: It's amazing how willing people are to destroy something that's meant so much to them.

Dylan: I know. They forget how much went into creating it.

Sharon: Crimson lights is not just an old building. It's part of this town. It's history.

Dylan: And yours.

Sharon: Yeah. A lot of memories here. From high school, and nick and I bought the place. You see that spot right there? That used to be Cassie's corner. [Voice breaking] I'm sorry, I just -- I can't bear the thought of losing one more thing in my life.

Nick: I got your message.

Victor: Come in, son.

Nick: What's up?

Victor: So... I understand the mediation hearing didn't go to well.

Nick: You know, dad, I'd really rather you not be involved in the custody battle.

Victor: It's too late, son. I've been asked to give a deposition.

Nick: Avery didn't mention anything to me about calling you as a witness.

Victor: Sharon's attorney contacted me.

Nick: Why would he do that?

Victor: Obviously because they're hoping my testimony will bolster her case.

[Knock on door]

Gwen: Come in.

Devon: Got a call about a problem in this room and insisted on... Gwen.

Gwen: Yeah, I insisted on seeing the manager. This is only something that he can handle.

Chelsea: You want to know why I haven't taken this off.

Billy: You claim you're over Adam.

Chelsea: And you claim you're over Victoria. You haven't had your wedding ring tattoo removed, so explain that one, Billy.

Billy: Well, it's not as if I haven't been working on it.

Neil: Is that Chelsea?

Chelsea: Neil.

Neil: Hi.

Chelsea: Hey! Yeah, it's me. I'm here with Billy.

Neil: Hi, Billy. How you guys doing?

Billy: Good, good.

Neil: Good. I'm not gonna keep you. I'm actually here to meet with a representative for the small business association in a suite upstairs.

Chelsea: Changing careers?

Neil: Not at all. He wants me to weigh in on the proposed development of the warehouse district, give my input on the economic impact on the city. That's all.

Chelsea: Well, I can understand why they would value your opinion. We miss you as head of fashion at Jabot.

Neil: Wish I was still there, but, you know what? We can always talk fashion. How about that?

Chelsea: I would like that very much.

Neil: Okay. Great, well, I'll call you soon, all right?

Chelsea: Okay.

Neil: All right. Bye-bye.

Chelsea: Hey.

Billy: You need a hand?

Neil: No, no, I -- thank you. I got it.

Chelsea: [Sighs] So... you always talk about getting that thing removed, but you don't do it. Why?

Billy: Well, I could ask you the same thing about your ring.

Sage: Go ahead, Adam. Why don't you call Chelsea and tell her you're alive? What's the matter?

Adam: [Slams phone] I will not be held hostage in this marriage, Sage. And I'm not gonna let you keep me from the woman I love.

Sage: What are you planning to do?

Adam: Well, there is the obvious choice.

Sage: Which is?

Adam: [Chuckles] Uh, well, nobody really knew that you were married to Gabriel, right? You don't have any family, Sage. You don't have any friends. As far as I could tell, Constance was the only one that even knew you were alive.

Sage: So?

Adam: So, if you were to go missing, who would look for you? Who would wonder where you were? Who would even care?

Sage: You wouldn't dare. Adam: Put you in the same grave as the old woman?

Sage: Yes. You really don't think I'm that driven to get my life back? That desperate to get back what I had with Chelsea?

Sage: I don't know. Are you?

Adam: Better damn well believe I am. Now, I know you and I have had a few laughs, right? Do yourself a favor. Don't you ever forget who it is you're dealing with.

Sage: Don't you forget, like you said, I got nothing. No friends, no family, no great love to reunite myself with. I got nothing to lose here. So it seems the person that should be careful... is you, Adam.

Nick: Why would Sherman call you as a witness? You detest Sharon.

Victor: He's hoping that my testimony will be to their advantage.

Nick: How?

Victor: By claiming that my tormenting and harassing Sharon made her do what she did.

Nick: You mean 'cause you hired Mariah to pose as Cassie, endangering Sharon's well-being as well as faith's in the process?

Victor: I did what I did to protect you and to protect faith.

Nick: Well, that's not gonna stop Sherman from trying to prove that faith is better off with Sharon than any Newman, including me.

Victor: I assure you that I will say nothing in that deposition that will hurt your chances to gain full custody of faith.

Nick: You may not be able to avoid that after everything you've done to Sharon.

Victor: I called you here, son...to warn you of the tactics that Sharon is using, all right? I may be able to handle that... David Sherman guy. But that shyster's gonna come after other members of our family, including your mother. So, are you saying I need to drop this custody suit?

Sharon: Nick and I were about to reach an agreement on shared custody when suddenly everything went sideways. I don't even know how.

Dylan: I just hate to see you guys fighting over faith.

Sharon: What choice do I have? I can't lose my daughter.

Dylan: I know, but you guys were able to put aside your differences for faith at Christmas.

Sharon: Yeah, well, that was easy for me because -- not just because of faith, but I still care about nick.

Dylan: I know you do.

Sharon: Part of me just can't believe that his love for me somehow died. I keep thinking about everything he said to me on the day we were supposed to get married. That he didn't care how many people doubted us, this time our love was gonna win out. And he knew I was keeping something from him, but he said that it didn't matter. Nothing would change the way he felt about me.

Dylan: I'm sorry.

Sharon: Now I have to do everything I can to keep from losing my daughter. I'm gonna start with trying to get a job.

Dylan: Oh, yeah. I wish I could help you with that, but, you know, the way things are around here --

Sharon: No, no, no, no. I understand. Actually, I have a couple of leads. One of them looks pretty good.

Dylan: Really? Good. Good luck. Good luck with everything.

Sharon: Thank you. You too. I really hope you can keep this place.

Dylan: Yeah. Avery's ex is trying to set up a meeting with me and the owner so I can convince him not to sell. Actually, I'm heading over right now to see if she heard anything.

Sharon: Well, hopefully both of our situations will resolve soon.

Dylan: Yeah. See you later.

Sharon: Okay.

Sharon: I bet I can guess who that's from.

Hilary: [Chuckles]

Devon: Gwen, what are you doing?

Gwen: I just wanted to surprise you. Clearly, I did, just not in the way that I'd hoped.

Devon: [Sighs] I'm sorry. It's -- it's a fine surprise. I just -- you caught me at a bad time.

Gwen: I wish you wouldn't do that. If you're not interested, just --

Devon: What are you talking about? What am I doing? I -- I like you. A lot.

Gwen: That's the problem. I thought we were past like. I mean, I just -- I -- when we kissed on new year's, I -- clearly, I just -- I got the wrong impression.

Devon: Hang on a second.

Gwen: No, I'm good.

Devon: Hang on. Hang on. Hey, Gwen! Wait a second!

Gwen: Look, if you're back with that married woman you're into, just tell me.

Neil: Devon?

Devon: Neil.

Neil: Hey. Hey, buddy.

Devon: Hey.

Neil: And I'd recognize that other voice anywhere. Gwen?

Gwen: Yeah, it's me. I was just leaving. Bye, Devon.

Neil: Well, son. Sounds like we have a lot to talk about.

Michael: Tell the ADA that I am ready to go to trial. You just make sure I have a court date. Thank you.

Kevin: Anxious to tie up loose ends?

Michael: Anxious to provide my client with excellent representation.

Kevin: Ah. The sooner the better.

Michael: I'm very busy.

Kevin: Too busy to discuss which treatment you're gonna use for your cancer?

Michael: Too busy to have this conversation.

Kevin: Michael, you cannot --

Dylan: Michael, have you seen Ave--

Michael: Come on in. Kevin was just leaving. Avery is not here.

Dylan: We're actually trying to get in touch with the person who owns the land crimson lights is sitting on, and I just want to know if she heard anything.

Michael: You think you can get him to change his mind about selling to the developer?

Dylan: And we have a name of a holding company -- Gerolamo Limited.

Michael: Gerolamo? I've never heard of it.

Michael: Yeah, a basic search online, we couldn't find anything about the owner or the company.

Kevin: Well, you know, in the hands of the right computer tech...

Michael: Don't even think about it.

Kevin: I'm just saying, people have found a lot more with a lot less.

Avery: I don't know what you're thinking, Joe.

Joe: I just want to talk, Avery. That's all.

Avery: We could have done that at my office.

Joe: I didn't want to be interrupted.

Avery: Okay. I'm out of here.

Joe: Look, just give me a minute, please. After the way things ended, you owe me that much.

Avery: What? What, Joe, is left to say?

Joe: Everything I should have said when you left Dylan and came back to try to make our marriage work.

Avery: That was a mistake.

Joe: Look, the only mistake was when I found out about your affair, I didn't give us a second chance.

Avery: No, Joe, you saw what I didn't. That what we had was over.

Joe: It wasn't for me.

Avery: So this is why you came back to Genoa city?

Joe: No, that was a coincidence, I swear. But what wasn't, Avery, was when I saw you. The flood gates opened. I mean, all those feelings, everything that we shared, that we had. When I found out about your affair with Dylan, I was devastated. I lost the most precious thing that I've ever gotten.

Avery: Well, you can't blame Dylan for that!

Joe: I don't, and I don't blame you, I blame me. I know I was caught up in my career, success, making money -- all the things which didn't matter. The crazy thing was is that I did that for you. I devoted myself to making you happy.

Avery: And I never felt more alone. Joe, when you and I got married, I thought we were gonna have it all. And you, you just --

Joe: I know. I ruined it. Not because I didn't love you. I did. I just went about the wrong way of showing it.

Avery: This doesn't matter now.

Joe: Yes, it does. And that's why I'm here. To ask for a second chance, a chance to make this right.

Chelsea: If you're not ready to let go of Victoria, just say so.

Billy: That is not what I'm saying.

Chelsea: Well, that tattoo is saying it loud and clear. It's a huge symbol of your love for Victoria.

Billy: No, it was a symbol of our love.

Chelsea: And what it is not?

Billy: Chelsea, it's a tattoo, okay? It doesn't mean anything more to me than that ring means to you.

Chelsea: Then why are you making such a big deal about my wearing it.

Billy: I don't know. It threw me when the waitress came over, she saw a ring, she thought we were married to each other when... you're right, okay? You're right. It's time I had it removed.

Chelsea: Well, don't do it for me.

Billy: Don't take that off for me, either.

Chelsea: [Sighs] You know what? I should go. I told Amanda I'd be home before Connor wakes up from his nap.

Billy: Do you want me to drive you?

Chelsea: I have my car.

Billy: [Sighs]

Chelsea: [Sighs]

Sage: You didn't deserve to have Gabriel's face, and you sure as hell don't deserve to have his life.

Adam: [Chuckles] You are cracking me -- the man conned you! He tricked you into marry him so he could get his grandmother's money! That's all it was! You defend this guy like you're in love with him. My God! Oh, wait a second. Oh, hell. That's what it was, isn't it? [Chuckling] Oh, you -- you're actually in love with this guy? Huh? That's how he was able to get you to go along with the con, right? Right? Hidden passion? Secret love? Next thing you know, you get the opportunity to be his wife.

Sage: You have no idea. I never claimed that Gabriel and I had this great love. Unlike you, who goes on and on about your deep connection with Chelsea.

Adam: Anyway.

Sage: Yeah, oh, must not be that deep if she moved on to another guy, into your penthouse, into your bed, around your children.

Adam: That's enough. Stop.

Sage: What's wrong? You can dish it out but you can't take it?

Adam: You're being petty.

Sage: I'm being petty?

Adam: Yes.

Sage: Look at you! You are a child!

Adam: This is gonna be a long three years, isn't it?

Sage: Nope. Not three years. The marriage license was issued last January, so that's two years, two weeks, one day.

Adam: Oh, two weeks, two years, and one day. That's great. That's the best news I've heard all day. So we reconvene at that point in time, we split everything up, and we never have to see each other again. How about that?

Sage: That's the agreement. And as far as I'm concerned, it cannot come fast enough.

Adam: I'm not that bad.

Sage: Yes. You are.

Adam: Fine. Fine. But hear this. And I really -- my God, I really hope you're listening to me right now, 'cause I'm gonna warn you. I may be stuck in this sham marriage with you because of that old lady's will, but you better stay out of my way, because I will win Chelsea back. She will be mine. And no one's gonna stand in my way. And that includes you.

[Door slams]

Victor: Of course I don't want you to give up the fight for custody of faith. Sharon is an unfit mother.

Nick: Look, I'm doing what I think is best for faith, and that doesn't include bashing Sharon. I mean, she is faith's mother.

Victor: Have you forgotten how easily she handed over Summer to Jack Abbott, of all people?

Nick: [Sighs] No. I haven't.

Victor: She made you suffer the loss of a child. Are those the actions of a loving mother? Who does that?!

Nick: I don't know.

Victor: I'll tell you who does that, son. Someone who is as sick and depraved as Sharon is. I'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure you win this case.

Nick: I think the only thing you need to do is tell the truth.

Victor: [Sighs] Have you forgotten the lengths Sharon will go to... to win this case? You have got to get in the trenches with her, son. You have to fight her dirty, otherwise, you're gonna lose your daughter.

Adam: Chelsea. Hey. I thought that was you.

Chelsea: Gabriel. Hey. What are you doing here?

Adam: Well, I have an appointment to look for an apartment that's for rent, but the realtor is a no-show. Unfortunately, I got another appointment coming up, and I hate to miss this opportunity, but, I mean, I can't make a commitment without seeing the unit, right?

Chelsea: Well, it is a great place to live. I can tell you that.

Adam: I bet. I bet. Uh, the realtor said that all the penthouses are pretty much the same layout?

Chelsea: Mm-hmm. That's true.

Adam: Okay. I know this is really forward and I hate to ask you this, but... [Chuckles] Would you mind if I took a look around your place, just to sort of get an idea for the --

Chelsea: My boyfriend is gonna be home soon.

Adam: Billy. Right?

Chelsea: Yeah. And I have a feeling he's not gonna be in the best mood.

Adam: Really? All right, well, you know what? I'm sorry I asked. It's clearly not the right time. Plus you barely know me.

Chelsea: You know what? It's fine. I can -- I can show you around.

Adam: Yeah?

Chelsea: Yeah. Come on in.

Adam: Well, that's nice of you. Thank you. Very much.

Neil: Everything okay with you and Gwen?

Devon: Yeah, we're fine.

Neil: Yeah?

Devon: Mm-hmm.

Neil: Anything you want to talk about?

Devon: No, it's just the usual stuff, you know?

Neil: Son, I know how difficult relationships can be, and, you know, one day things are great, and then suddenly you're blindsided by something.

Devon: Yeah. I'm fine, though. Really.

Neil:, Well, if you ever want to talk, you know where to find me, and if you need a woman's perspective, you can always talk to my beautiful wife, Hilary. You know that.

Devon: I appreciate you saying that. But how are you doing? Are you okay?

Neil: Talk to lily?

Devon: Yeah, I have been talking to lily, and she's worried about you.

Neil: Well, there's no need to be worried about me. I'm doing better than I have been in a real long time.

Devon: Well, that's good. Does it have anything to do with that meeting you had with the business association?

Neil: No, that's not why I'm smiling from ear to ear.

Devon: No? What's the secret, then? Tell me.

Neil: Okay. I'm gonna tell you this. Hilary is throwing away her birth control pills.

Devon: Really?

Neil: Yeah. Yeah.

Devon: So, you guys are -- you're officially trying to have a baby, then.

Neil: We're hoping that it happens soon.

Devon: That's...fantastic. I'm very happy for you guys.

Neil: You sure don't sound happy. And I think I know why.

Sharon: I didn't mean to text-drop. I just noticed the smile on your face when you read your message.

Hilary: Yeah. You know, sometimes the simplest things can make your day.

Sharon: It's so sweet of Neil to send messages like that.

Hilary: Yeah, Neil is a special guy.

Sharon: I'm sure he thinks the same of you.

Hilary: I'm sure he does. Listen, Sharon, I wanted to tell you I'm so sorry that you got let go from Jabot.

Sharon: It's just collateral damage from the war I'm in with just about everybody. I'm determined to stay strong and focus on my family, especially faith.

Hilary: You are the only one that was nice to me when everyone else wasn't, so, if there is anything that you need, just --

Sharon: You know what? You're doing it. You're a great inspiration that no matter how bad things are, they can always work out. Look at you and Neil. He forgave you for what you did to him and his family, and now you have a wonderful life with the man you love.

Hilary: Yeah.

Sharon: Is everything okay between you and Neil?

Hilary: Yeah, just the usual stuff.

Sharon: 'Cause you can talk to me, you know?

Hilary: You know, I -- I got to get going. But good luck, okay? With everything.

Sharon: Thanks. You too.

Nick: I didn't want this to get ugly. But you left me no choice.

Michael: I meant it, Kevin. No hacking.

Kevin: [Chuckles] I don't hack. I navigate cyberspace with precision and alacrity.

Michael: Well, don't call me when they arrest you for illegally navigating.

Kevin: I didn't even say I was gonna use my skills to help Dylan.

Dylan: And I never asked.

Kevin: So what is it you know about this holding company? Gerolamo?

Dylan: Gerolamo, yeah. [Clears throat] Just that whoever's behind it owns the property that Crimson Lights and several other businesses sit on, and they're trying to sell the land to developers who are represented by Avery's ex.

Kevin: Oh, I bet he's real eager to help you.

Dylan: Actually, he might be.

Michael: Really?

Dylan: Yeah, we asked Joe to set up a meeting between me and the owner. I just want to know if Avery had heard something from him.

Michael: Avery wasn't here when I came in. She's probably meeting with a client.

Dylan: Okay, can you have her call me when she gets back?

Michael: Yeah, sure.

Dylan: Thanks.

Michael: But, Dylan...

Dylan: Yep?

Michael: ...I do apologize for taking Joe on as a client and actually helping make this happen.

Dylan: Well, Michael, you realized that there are more important things in the world than the bottom line. I'm just hoping Joe comes up with that some conclusion.

Avery: Joe, you say you've changed. I hope that's true.

Joe: I'm not the same man I was when we were married. I'll treat you the way that you deserve to be treated. Just give me a chance.

Avery: Joe, I love Dylan. I'm gonna marry him.

Joe: You don't have to.

Avery: I want to!

Joe: You left me for Dylan. And now you have to justify this decision by seeing this thing all the way through.

Avery: It's not a thing. It's a real adult relationship, where people make sacrifices and they give as much as they take.

Joe: Look, you left me for Dylan, and you don't have to prove to me or yourself or anyone else, for that matter, that you're doing the right thing by bailing on our marriage. Don't give up the rest of your life just to prove a point.

Avery: I'm not proving a point. I made a choice to be with Dylan. I love him. I want to marry him. And you have to accept that, and you have to move on.

Joe: Avery!

Avery: You call the seller, and you tell them to stop the warehouse sale.

[Door slams]

Avery: [Sighs]

Neil: You think I can't handle another baby because of my blindness?

Devon: You do have to admit that things are different now.

Neil: Yes, that might be the case, but I've adjusted. I mean, I can take good care of Moses, and I can take care of a new baby. Besides, I'm praying that I regain my vision very soon.

Devon: Sure. We all are praying for that. And I'm glad that you have the confidence, but do you think that the timing is right?

Neil: The timing is perfect. For me and my wife. She wants this baby as much as I do.

Devon: Did she say that?

Neil: I mean, if she didn't want to have a baby, then she would tell me. Devon, we have such a solid relationship that we don't hide anything from each other.

Devon: That's good. I'm just, uh... you know, I just want what's best for both of you.

Neil: This is what's best for both of us. I love Hilary, and why shouldn't -- why shouldn't we make this happen? Why shouldn't we start a family?

Devon: I can't think of one reason. Hey, look who it is. It's your wife.

Neil: Oh. Hi. Hi, baby.

Hilary: Am I interrupting something?

Neil: Well, Devon was just --

Devon: I was just taking off, actually. I'll leave you guys, and see you later.

Devon: Gwen. Hey. I want to apologize.

Gwen: Devon, you don't have to.

Devon: I do have to. And I want to make it up to you. Upstairs in my private suite. Because I think it would be a damn shame to waste what you got on underneath that dress.

Sharon: Did you expect me to just hand faith over to you on a silver platter and not fight for her?

Nick: I expected you to fight fair and not go after my family.

Sharon: How is it fair that you're trying to take my daughter away from me?

Nick: You brought this on yourself.

Sharon: Okay, I made a mistake. I admit that. A big one.

Nick: A mistake? You didn't accidentally alter Summer's DNA test. You did that on purpose. You purposely screwed with her life, and that's why I'm doing this. I will not allow you to screw up faith's life, too.

Sharon: Oh, my God, nick. I am so sick and tired of you coming down on me like you're some kind of saint. You're not. You've made mistakes, too. You've done things that have hurt our children.

Nick: Nothing I have ever done compares to what you did.

Sharon: You abandoned Noah and me when Cassie died. He was just a little boy. We were grieving. You ran off and got Phyllis pregnant. Just when Noah got used to not having you around, then you came back to me. Remember? That was when faith was conceived. The daughter that Cassie told us we would have. But you didn't stay with me then, either. You left me again. You abandoned Noah and me and faith again!

Nick: I never claimed to be perfect.

Sharon: Oh, far from it. You knew that the first DNA test that was done on Summer was corrupt, and you kept that to yourself. You didn't mention that to Phyllis or Jack or anyone. What if things had turned out differently? What if you had been keeping Jack's daughter from him all this time? Would that make you unfit? We've both made mistakes. Mine are just fresher. All I'm asking you to do is look inside your heart and ask yourself honestly, do you think that I am unfit to raise my daughter? Nick, answer me!

Nick: We'll talk later. Sage? What's wrong?

Chelsea: So, that's the whole place.

Adam: It's really beautiful.

Chelsea: Thank you. Never imagined myself living in a penthouse like this, but it's home.

Adam: Yeah, no, it's lovely. It's warm, it's cozy. I love what you've done with your son's nursery.

Chelsea: You know, I could have turned the light on so you could see the room better.

Adam: No. Are you kidding me? I didn't want to wake him up. I know how kids can be if they don't get enough sleep.

[Door opens]

Chelsea: Do you have children? You never told me.

Adam: Do I have children? I, um...

Billy: What are you doing here?

Chelsea: Gabriel to look at a unit that's for rent in the building, but the agent never showed up.

Billy: Ah. And he just happened to run into you.

Chelsea: Yeah.

Adam: Yeah, and Chelsea was nice enough to show me around the place.

Billy: Sounds like fun.

Adam: It was.

Billy: So, if you're finished, I'd really like to talk to you about where we left off earlier.

Chelsea: I thought we were finished.

Adam: I've taken up enough of your time. Um, so, uh, anyway, thank you -- thank you very much for the tour. Appreciate that. And, Billy, if the apartment doesn't work out, I'll probably be seeing more of you, anyway. I've just taken a job over at Jabot.

Billy: Jack didn't mention that to me.

Adam: Well, I'm sure he'll clue you in on the details. Thank you. Bye.

Chelsea: Bye.

[Door opens, closes]

Chelsea: What is your problem with that guy?

Billy: I don't -- I don't want to talk about him.

Chelsea: Fine. What do you want to talk about?

Billy: This.

Nick: Sage, I'm so sorry. I know how close you were to bingo's grandmother.

Sage: She was like a grandmother to me.

Nick: Is there anything I can do?

Sage: [Sighs] No, I have to go to the lawyer's and sign some papers that need to be signed right away.

Nick: Well, if you need anything, you know where to find me.

Sage: Thank you.

Sharon: You have time to talk to some stranger and you don't have time to talk to me about our daughter?! I think a judge is gonna find that very interesting.

Michael: I cannot work with you hovering.

Kevin: That's the idea.

Michael: What will it take to get rid of you?

Kevin: Easy. Tell me how exactly you plan on treating your cancer.

Michael: Actually, I'm seeing a new doctor tomorrow.

Kevin: Michael, you've already seen two. Three?

Michael: It will make four.

Kevin: [Sighs]

Michael: That's what's called being thorough.

Kevin: It's called stalling.

Michael: When you have cancer, you can come up with all sorts of nifty catchphrases of your own.

Kevin: Michael, you do have cancer! And right now, it's spreading God knows where throughout your body. So what happens if you don't like the opinion of this next doctor? You gonna see a fifth, a sixth, a thousandth? When are you gonna stop and face the truth?

Dylan: [Sighs] There you are. I went to your office. Where were you?

Avery: Uh, I was with Joe. He called right after you left for your interview.

Dylan: Wow. Did he get in touch with the seller of the property?

Avery: Well, he said that the seller could only meet then, and you weren't available so I went.

Dylan: You went where?

Avery: To his suite at the club. But it turned out to be a trick. He just wanted to get me alone so he could talk to me.

Dylan: That son of a --

Avery: No, no, no, no, listen. That's exactly what he wants you to do.

Dylan: No, he wants you, Avery.

Avery: He wanted to talk.

Dylan: To talk in his hotel room.

Avery: He wasn't trying to get me in bed, if that's what you're implying.

Dylan: You don't think it's on his mind?

Avery: No, I think it was a ploy.

Dylan: Yeah, to get you into bed.

Avery: No, you are making headway on your movement to stop this redevelopment project. He's desperate to derail your efforts, okay? What better way than to make you look bad?

Dylan: How does seducing you do that?

Avery: Because he wants you to come after him. This isn't about me. It's about you.

Dylan: Well, what do you want to talk about? Or do I even have to ask?

Hilary: What was up with Devon?

Neil: What do you mean, baby?

Hilary: It's just he looked upset.

Neil: Oh. He's worried about me.

Hilary: Why?

Neil: I told him that you threw away your birth control pills and that we're seriously trying to get pregnant, so he's concerned. That's all.

Joe: So, we're expecting a great turnout at the cocktail event at the club.

Victor: So what's the bad news?

Joe: Well, Dylan and Avery are determined to discover who's selling the coffee house out from underneath them.

Victor: So what?

Joe: So I just want to make sure you're confident that this deal is gonna go through, and that no one will know of your involvement.

Victor: I'm certain of it.

Avery: It doesn't matter what Joe wants. I want you, and I made that very clear to him.

Dylan: I'm not worried about what you're thinking.

Avery: Dylan, I love you. I'm marrying you. Joe's gonna have to accept that.

Dylan: Well, that's not gonna be easy. You're a hard woman to forget. I never could. Even when I was halfway around the world, I never could get you out of my mind.

Avery: I could never you get you out of my mind, either. And we are finally together, and don't let Joe ruin that for us.

Dylan: Okay. [Sighs]

Nick: Her name is Sage, and she is just a friend, and she just lost someone who's very close to her. So please do not try and use what you just saw against me in court.

Sharon: There was a time not that long ago that you cared about my pain, nick. Now I'm wondering how ugly do you want this to get? How far are you willing to go?

Nick: I will go as far as I need to go to protect my daughter.

Adam: [Imitating car zooming]

Sage: You saw Chelsea.

Adam: You jealous, Mrs. Bingham?

Sage: You do realize that you and your soul mate aren't gonna be reunited on your original time table.

Adam: This marriage of ours is a minor inconvenience to all of the major roadblocks that are disappearing.

Sage: What did you do?

Adam: Well, see, that's the beauty of it. I didn't have to do anything.

Sage: Whatever that means.

Adam: Well, it means that Billy can't help himself. He's bound to screw this thing up on his own, one way or the other.

Chelsea: You got your ring tattoo removed?

Billy: Yeah, and the one on my back that says "Victoria." It's probably gonna take a few more sessions before it's completely gone. It might leave some scarring, too.

Chelsea: It doesn't matter. You did it.

Billy: I did it.

Chelsea: Billy, I'm sorry --

Billy: I never should have -- I love you.

Chelsea: I love you, too.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Avery: I want to get married. Right away.

Jill: Do you really want to end up on the wrong side of Nikki? 'Cause I don't think she'd appreciate you siding against her son.

Kelly: I got your message. You wanted to see me?

Phyllis: No. I did.
