Episode # 10535 ~ A surprise visitor arrives in Genoa City, while Michael opens up to Lauren. Sally Kellerman debuts as Constance Bingham.

Provided By Suzanne

Mariah: Oh, good morning. Sharon, meet coffee. Coffee, Sharon. Sharon, coffee.

Sharon: You -- you have no idea how much I needed this.

Mariah: Judging from the dark circles under your eyes, yes, I do know how much you needed this.

Sharon: No, I meant your kindness, not turning your back on me. Just your being here means so much.

Mariah: Well, didn't have anyplace else to live, so... sorry. You gave me a chance when nobody else would, so I figured I owe you for that. I'm not gonna kick you when you're down, okay?

[Knock on door]

Sharon: No! Whoever that is, they just need to go away.

Mariah: You can't hide from people. How is that gonna solve anything?

Sharon: Grace?

Grace: Sharon, hi. Hope you don't mind my stopping by.

Nick: Mom? You here?

Nikki: Darling! I-I-I didn't hear from you. I was worried. Thank God.

Nick: I know. I'm sorry I didn't return any of your calls.

Nikki: No, I understand, after everything you're going through, what Sharon pulled. I can only imagine what it's doing to you.

Nick: Yeah, it's been fun.

Nikki: Just know that your father and I, if you need anything from us, you just name it. We are here for you. Have you talked to him this morning?

Nick: I got some message from him saying he wanted to have a family dinner. But honestly, some pity party while everyone sits around talking about what a disaster my life has become while dad pontificates at the head of the table is the last thing I want to do right now.

Michael: I'm busy. So busy.

Kevin: I just wanted you to know that when I took fen to the concert last night, I didn't say anything about your situation.

Michael: You actually did something I asked. There's a first time for everything.

Kevin: Yeah, it wasn't easy, but I kept my mouth shut.

Michael: I figured as much when Fenmore didn't come charging home upset, asking a million questions. We actually had a very nice goodbye. I appreciate you doing the right thing and keeping quiet.

Kevin: No, the right thing isn't lying to the people who love you, who don't know that you have cancer.

Michael: All right, we're not gonna do this. You have to go. Go.

Kevin: Maybe you're okay keeping the truth from everyone, but I'm not. And if you're not gonna tell your family, then I'm going to.

Sage: [Yawns] You're awake. Good. We have a visitor.

Constance: You gave us quite a scare yesterday with that fall you took.

Adam: Is that so? I'm all right. It was nothing, really.

Constance: You have to take it easy, make sure your wounds heal properly. I thought I'd lost you. And I-I thank God for saving you.

Adam: Yeah. Yeah, thank God for bringing me to you.

Billy: Boys are still asleep.

Chelsea: Thanks for checking.

Billy: What you up to?

Chelsea: This. I pulled it out of the trash.

Billy: And now you're looking for more hidden cameras?

Chelsea: I'm focused on this hidden camera in Connor's nursery. I mean, who would put it in there? Who would hook this up?

Billy: I thought that we agreed that it was Adam being overprotective and spying on the nannies.

Chelsea: That's one theory, but we don't know that for sure. Then again, if it wasn't Adam...

[Doorbell rings]

Victor: Hi, sweetheart.

Billy: I think the answer to your question just arrived.

Victor: What the hell are you doing here?

Michael: This is my life. This is my body. I get to decide what people know and when they know it.

Kevin: You may not know what you need, Michael, but I do.

Michael: You listen to me very carefully. You are not saying anything to anyone.

Kevin: I'm trying to help you! How many times have you helped me, been there for me, helped me through a tough time in my life? Well, now it's my turn. Look, I get that you're -- you're probably in shock and that you're scared, but this is not the kind of thing that you go through alone. You have a family, and this is the kind of thing that a family deals with together.

Michael: [Stammers] We don't even know the severity of the situation. Please, let's not... let's just not worry people unnecessarily.

Kevin: How severe does the situation have to get before it's okay for people to worry? How bad does it have to be before you're willing to lean on the people who love you? All right, you don't want to tell fen yet, then I understand that. And -- and not telling mom actually makes a lot of sense. But Lauren --

Michael: Listen. Listen. I will handle this. I will.

Kevin: Michael, I get that it is your life and you can do with it what you want. But she's your wife. She loves you. And this is her life, also.

Nikki: If you're worried that your father's gonna try to make this dinner all about him...

Nick: Of course he will, mom. Dad is just dying to say "I told you so." Thank you.

Nikki: Well, I can understand why you think that. But I truly don't think that's the case this time. I think he really just wants to pull the family together and support you and Summer.

Nick: Well, I'm sure that's how he's gonna sell it, but I highly doubt it plays out like that. Look, I just don't want to be around him right now.

Nikki: Hey, I get it. I have been furious with him for months. I still don't agree with his methods.

Nick: Oh, you mean the way he manipulates everyone and lies to them while spouting this "holier than thou" attitude?

Nikki: All of the above. But I can tell you this. The reason he kept pursuing the truth is not because he hates Sharon. It's because he loves you.

Nick: [Scoffs] Yeah. Maybe. But it kills me that dad was right about Sharon and I was wrong.

Grace: I was in Chicago on business yesterday, so I, um, figured I'd pop up and say hi before I m-- wow, uh... you -- you must be Mariah. I'm -- I'm grace.

Mariah: Hi.

Grace: Hi. Uh, nick showed me a picture, but seeing you in person...

Mariah: Yeah, it's incredible how much I look like Cassie.

Grace: Yeah, it is.

Mariah: Yeah, I get that a lot.

Grace: I-I've been meaning to talk to you ever since he spoke to me. It's pretty obvious that he was wondering if Mariah was Cassie's twin sister.

Sharon: She is.

Grace: [Chuckles] And -- and you guys, uh, are just being reunited now after all this time. It's -- it's a miracle.

Sharon: Mariah, this is the woman that I was telling you about, my best friend from Madison who found Cassie when she was little and brought her to nick and me.

Grace: Yeah. Hi. [Voice breaking] I want you to know that if I'd known there was another child, I would have -- I would have looked for you, too, and brought you back to your mother. I'm so -- I'm so sorry.

Mariah: That's -- that's okay. It's fine.

Sharon: There's no way that grace could have known. Neither of us did. And I-I guess I have you to thank for helping nick put the pieces together.

Grace: Cassie can never be replaced, but I-I hope that, uh, having Mariah in your life has somehow filled that -- that hole in your heart.

Sharon: It's meant more than I can say.

Constance: No one means more to me in this world. And we shall do whatever we must to make sure you get well.

Adam: I'm so grateful. I don't think I'll ever be able to thank you enough.

Constance: No need to thank me. The truth is, my darling sage is the one that's been taking such good care of you. Now rest. I could use some myself.

Adam: Okay.

Sage: Shall I take you to your room, Constance?

Constance: I can manage.

Adam: Sage. Bring me my laptop.

Victor: I know nothing about this surveillance equipment. And I don't appreciate being accused of spying on Chelsea and on my grandson.

Billy: This is exactly the kind of thing that you would do, especially after Adam cut you off from Connor. This is your way of keeping tabs on things.

Victor: You're not buying into this, are you?

Chelsea: I don't know what to think.

Victor: Chelsea, you and I have worked very hard to gain each other's trust, haven't we? And you gave me permission to come here any day to visit Connor.

Chelsea: I did, but --

Victor: Then why in the world would I plant surveillance equipment in your condo here? But I will have my people find out who is responsible.

Billy: Yeah, thanks, but we'll handle it.

Victor: Do you need my help for anything?

Chelsea: I'll -- I'll let you know. I will.

Victor: Okay. I'd like a word with you alone. Would you mind making yourself scarce?

Billy: No, I'm not going anywhere. I guess nobody bothered to break the news to you, so allow me. I live here now with Chelsea and your grandson.

Victor: Tell me this isn't so.

Michael: I meant what I said. I will tell Lauren myself as soon as I know something definitive about my condition.

Kevin: When will that be?

Michael: I have an appointment with an oncologist in a few days.

Kevin: In a few -- no! That's not all right! You have a tumor or cells or whatever, so you call the oncologist, you get him to see you today right away!

Michael: That's not the way it works. We have to wait.

Kevin: That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard in my life! You make a cancer patient wait to find out what stage they're in? No! Who is this guy? What do you know about him?

Michael: He comes highly recommended.

Kevin: Well, he better be the best, because you need the best. What's his name? What is his name? I'm gonna do research.

Michael: Stop. Stop. Please. I have to do this my way, step by step.

Kevin: Okay.

Michael: Okay.

Kevin: I just need you to be all right.

Lauren: Hi, guys. I just dropped fen off at the airport, and I thought I'd steal some time away with my husband, unless I'm interrupting.

Kevin: No.

Michael: Mnh.

Kevin: No, we're good. In fact, I should get out of your very well-groomed hair.

Lauren: Oh, well, thank you.

Michael: [Chuckles] Thank you.

Kevin: Mm-hmm. I'll see you.

Lauren: Sweetie.

Victor: I'm very disappointed to find out that you are willing to pick up where my daughter left off.

Chelsea: Billy and I are very happy. Anything you have to say to me you can say in front of him.

Victor: [Sighs] I've come to invite you and Connor to a dinner party I'll have in a few days. I want to spend some time with my grandchildren.

Chelsea: Is this about nick and Summer? I was shocked when I heard.

Victor: I know. I would like you and, uh, Connor to come by, okay? I've also extended the invitation to Victoria and Johnny.

Billy: And that's up to her as to whether or not she wants to bring our son, but for what it's worth, the idea of you circling the Newman wagons so that you can celebrate Jack's loss doesn't sit well with me.

Victor: And since when, son, do you think I give a damn whether something sits well with your or not?

Billy: Guess I'm not invited then, huh?

Victor: Are you and Connor coming?

Chelsea: [Sighs]

Nick: The only good thing that came out of this mess was finding out Summer's my daughter again, which I'm thrilled about. But the damage that came from that realization, thanks to Sharon...

Nikki: How is Summer handling it? I haven't heard back from her, either.

Nick: She's furious with Sharon for using her, using Jack. She played God with everyone's lives. She put Phyllis in the hospital. You know, Summer has me and Austin to lean on, which helps.

Nikki: How about Noah and faith?

Nick: Noah's hanging in there. Faith -- we, of course, didn't tell her the whole story. But now she's in agony. She called me a liar the other day because I promised her I was gonna marry her mother, and now I'm not.

Nikki: That poor baby. She's too young to understand, but she will come around. I promise you. If ever a little girl adored her daddy...

Nick: I let her stay with Sharon last night.

Nikki: Oh, really? You think that was wise?

Nick: Well, it'll be the last time. I want my daughter with me from now on.

Nikki: I don't blame you.

Nick: You know, part of me wants to do more than just go after custody. I mean, the way I feel right now, I want to cut Sharon out of my life forever.

Sharon: Can I get you something? Coffee?

Grace: Oh, uh, oh, no. I'm fine. Thanks.

Mariah: Well, I'm gonna take off. It's obvious you guys have some catching up to do.

Grace: Okay, uh, it's really nice meeting you, Mariah.

Mariah: Yeah. You, too. Bye.

Grace: Well, I'm -- I'm sorry. I, uh, I didn't mean to scare her away like that.

Sharon: No, Mariah is still getting used to everything. And besides, it's better off you and I talk privately.

Grace: You seem really tense. I was really hoping that this would be a pleasant surprise.

Sharon: It's a shock. Why now?

Grace: I told you. I was in Chicago.

Sharon: No, that's not what I mean and you know it. It's been months since you saw nick or spoke to him. If you had wanted to check in, you could have phoned. You could have sent me an e-mail. But instead, you show up on my doorstep without warning after being away for 10 years. Why? What are you really doing here, grace?

Grace: Sharon, I-I really don't have an agenda here.

Sharon: Then why the ambush?

Grace: That's a little bit hostile.

Sharon: Given our history, I'm the soul of politeness.

Grace: Fine. I thought about writing or calling many times.

Sharon: So, why didn't you?

Grace: A child that you didn't know about, Cassie's identical twin sister? It's not exactly the kind of thing you shoot somebody an e-mail about. So when I realized I was just a couple hours away, I [Sighs] Couldn't pass up the opportunity to come see you.

Sharon: Is that all?

Grace: Okay, I won't lie. I was hoping to get the opportunity to...to meet Mariah. I mean, it's pretty, uh, indescribable, I'd say, seeing that -- that face again. Our friendship was lost, Sharon. It's mostly due to my actions.

Sharon: Mostly?

Grace: [Sighs] But, you know, we always had one thing in common. Our love for Cassie. Her death was... sorry. It's just such a tragedy. I just -- it made me so ill. And then when I heard about what it did to you and nick and how it just tore your whole family apart... [Sighs] But everything's come full circle. I mean, right? You have Mariah now, and you and nick are back together and happy. Sharon, what...what is it?

Sharon: Nothing. Nothing that I want to talk about with you.

Grace: Has something happened with nick?

Sharon: It's really none of your business.

Grace: Okay, you know what? You are really freaking me out here. If you don't tell me, I'm gonna call nick and ask him. What's wrong?

Sharon: Everything! Nick left me.

Nick: I could kill Sharon right now. Phyllis, too. I mean, she couldn't have handled this situation any worse. The scene at the ballroom in the stairwell was obnoxious.

Nikki: It sounds like Phyllis.

Nick: But I have to remain civil, you know, because Summer is still so upset. But if you could tell me right now that I would never have to see another one of those women ever again, I swear to you I would jump up and cheer.

Nikki: Nicholas, stop it now. You're scaring me. I know you took things hard when Avery ended things, but --

Nick: Mom, Avery was in love with Dylan, and she always was. She knew if we got married, it would be a disaster. But you can't compare that with what Sharon did. Avery never gave away one of my kids because of her own pathological insecurities. But you don't have to worry about me, mom, all right? I'm not gonna do anything reckless, I promise.

Nikki: I just don't want you to do anything you'll regret.

Nick: I regret every single minute that I spent with Sharon thinking that we could build something real. I mean, what the hell was I thinking?

Nikki: Try to relax, all right? I know you're hurt. I know you're disillusioned. But you can't let your anger run away with you like this. You've got to take ahold of the situation and control it. Don't let it control you.

Chelsea: Thank you for the invitation, Victor, but I think we all know the person you really want there is Connor, not me. No one in your family would be happy to have me there. They all hated Adam, and since he died, no one has been particularly warm or friendly to me. Not to mention it would make Victoria very uncomfortable, so I just -- I just think the answer's no.

Victor: Well, I hate to hear that. I would love you to be there with Connor.

Chelsea: I appreciate that, but the answer's still no.

Victor: All right.

Chelsea: You know that you can always come and see your grandson here as long as you respect the fact that Billy's a part of our lives now and he lives with us.

Victor: All right.

Billy: [Scoffs] You expect us to believe that? That you are capable of respect?

Victor: You know, Billy boy, not very concerned about you. You'll screw up in no time at all. I know you too well. And then she'll kick you out of here.

[Door opens]

[Door closes]

Chelsea: [Sighs]

Adam: Come on.

[Computer keys clacking]

Adam: Come on. You're taking the password. What is the problem? [Sighs] Sage! Sage!

Sage: Yes? What's the matter? Are you in pain?

Adam: There's something wrong with this computer. I'm trying to access the feed to Connor's nursery. All I'm getting is this black screen. What's wrong with this thing?

Sage: Huh. Well, it's not the laptop. It's not the issue. Something must be wrong with the camera.

[Computer keys clack]

Adam: Or someone realized it was there.

Lauren: It was so wonderful to see fen, even though it was such a quick visit.

Michael: Once they get to college, you're lucky to get that.

Lauren: I know. But I miss him already. So, I thought maybe I could get my husband to distract me from my extremely empty nest.

Michael: Hmm.

Lauren: Mm-hmm.

Michael: That sounds very appealing, but I am snowed under. So busy.

Lauren: Honey. You do not need to be embarrassed by needing something to help you get going. I mean, I wish you would have been honest with me, that I didn't have to figure it out myself.

Michael: Some things are more difficult to share, even with you.

Lauren: I know it's also a matter of pride, but you realize it only made things worse. You know, I had all these doubts in my mind and that you were all stressed. It was not good.

Michael: I do so hate to disappoint you.

Lauren: Sweetie, it's not about the sex. It was about the wall that was being created between us and the fact that you weren't as intimate. Don't you know that we can talk about anything? We can face anything. I love you. No matter what.

Michael: [Scoffs] I never questioned your love for me.

Lauren: Then what? What is it? Tell me.

Mariah: Hey, big shot. Oh, my God. What a morning. I thought things couldn't get crazier or more awkward with Sharon, but get this -- they did. This old friend of hers showed up, and it was really awkward and weird and --

Kevin: I don't want to hear it.

Mariah: What?

Kevin: Look, you're not the only person with bad crap going on in your life.

Sharon: So while I was sick, I did something terrible. And then I kept it a secret, and now suddenly, everything's blown up right when nick and I were about to get married.

Grace: I am so sorry. Here.

Sharon: Thanks. I can imagine what you must be thinking.

Grace: Uh, you kidding? After the stunts I've pulled, who am I to judge? There's just one thing I can't get over.

Sharon: Only one?

Grace: I didn't think there was anything that could get nick to walk out on you again.

Sharon: What is that supposed to mean?

Grace: Just what I said. I thought he was yours, now and forever.

Sharon: Damn you, grace. You know, you never change. You pretend to feel bad for me, but all you're really thinking is nick is single now. You would hit on him in a hot second, wouldn't you?

Grace: That's exactly what I did when he flew me here to talk to me.

Sharon: Get the hell out.

Nick: Thinks have happened in the past where I've let my anger get the best of me, but that is not gonna be the case going forward.

Nikki: No?

Nick: No, for one thing, I don't want to make things harder on my kids. And another, I can see how worried you are, so I don't want to pile on a bunch of new stress.

Nikki: Well, thank you, son. I appreciate you taking my words to heart.

Nick: I will handle things where Sharon is concerned. I'm gonna keep my cool, do it rationally, which doesn't make you any less concerned, I can see.

Nikki: It goes with the territory.

Nick: You're a great mom. Actually, you're the best mom. Do you know why? Because even when you're struggling with your own issues, you always make us kids feel like we come first.

Nikki: Because you do.

[Door opens, closes]

Victor: Well, look who's here. Glad you came by.

Nick: Why? You have more good news for me?

Chelsea: Hey. Billy, I hope you realize nothing Victor said is gonna --

Billy: Hey, I know. In fact, the way that you turned him down pretty much said it all.

Chelsea: I mean, I'm not gonna let the man dictate my life, but it's important to me that we keep things civil for Connor's sake.

Billy: And I'll do my best, but I have my limits. I was not about to turn this over to him.

Chelsea: You don't really think that Victor's behind that still, do you?

Billy: When we're talking about surveillance gear in a little kid's bedroom, everybody is guilty until proven innocent.

Chelsea: Oh, trust me, I'm with you. I'm not gonna be able to rest for one second until I figure out who planted that camera in Connor's nursery.

Billy: Then let's get some answers.

Sage: We don't know if he found the camera. It could just be a glitch.

Adam: No. No, it's not a glitch.

Sage: All right, you know what? I'm gonna have your man go back to the apartment and see if he can get things back online.

Adam: No. No! I am sick and tired of sitting here watching my wife and my son over some damn computer screen while Billy Abbott takes over my entire family. I'm not gonna sit here and let that happen.

Michael: You have to know that the last thing I wanted to do was to make you feel insecure because I wasn't able to face the truth about something that was wrong with me.

Lauren: Nothing is wrong with you. What you're experiencing is something very normal for a man your age, you know? And it's easily managed.

Michael: Sometimes a little pill doesn't fix everything, you know? What if I hadn't been able to be a real husband to you anymore?

Lauren: You will always be my husband. And there are many different ways to make love. And I plan on showing them to you the rest of our lives.

Mariah: Peace offering. Look, I know I have a bad habit of launching into my own stuff and it can come off as self-centered, but to be fair, you usually don't have a huge stick up your --

Kevin: Is this your version of an apology?

Mariah: Just eat the brownie and tell me what's wrong.

Kevin: I can't.

Mariah: Fine.

Kevin: I would if I could. It's...it's not my story to tell.

Mariah: Well, whatever it is, it's really tearing you up.

Kevin: Yeah, and there's nothing I can do about it.

Mariah: Look, Kevin, I don't do this friend thing very well. I never had a bestie growing up. And pretty much everybody in my life has screwed me over. But what I'm trying to say is that if you need a friend... I can try to be that for you. Keyword -- try.

Kevin: Got it.

Grace: Okay, Sharon, stop. You -- you need to calm down and let me finish. Yes, I hit on nick. Because I jumped to certain conclusions after he called me out of the blue like that. But he didn't give me a second glance. And believe me, I gave him plenty to look at. The only thing that mattered to him was you and trying to figure out who Mariah really was.

Sharon: I'll bet that was a crushing disappointment for you.

Grace: Okay, I'm trying to make you feel better here.

Sharon: You just couldn't resist twisting the knife any more than you can resist throwing your body in front of any man that happens to cross your path. Old habits and all.

Grace: Well, I-I have done nothing wrong here. So don't attack me when you're the one who screwed up your own life again. So tell me, Sharon. What did you do? What did it take to push a guy who loved you that much, the father of your children, past the breaking point?

Sharon: Nick and I will survive this, just like we've survived everything else, because we share the kind of love that someone like you can't understand.

Grace: If that's what you want to believe.

Sharon: No, that's what I know.

Grace: Okay. I have to go or else I'm gonna miss my flight. Can't wait to see how this all turns out.

Victor: I have nothing to report.

Nick: So you don't expect me to thank you for what you did the other night?

Victor: Son, I don't expect you to thank me for anything.

Nick: You here to gloat?

Victor: I'm here because this is my house. Not here to gloat. But while you're here, I could tell you something.

Nick: I don't think I want to hear it.

Nikki: Hear him out. Just hear him out.

Victor: Had I known what I know now... I would have told you. Could have saved you and our family a lot of anguish.

Nick: Why? You were driven by your hatred of Sharon.

Victor: Son, I wanted to tell you to not make the same mistake twice. Yet you went right ahead undeterred to pursue happiness with a woman who has brought so much unhappiness to this family. She burned down this damn place! Do I need to remind you? You're questioning my motives? Why don't you look at yourself and explain to yourself why you made the choices you made? How's that?

Nick: I got to go.

Victor: Yeah.

[Door closes]

Victor: Now you're looking at me? I think it's a good thing. It's the only way he will learn.

Nikki: Let him think about it.

Victor: The more distance he can put between himself and Sharon, the better off he'll be.

Nikki: I just wonder if this really is it for them once and for all.

Victor: Why are you even asking that question? You don't think he'll forgive her, start all over again with her?

Nikki: Not at this moment, no. He is beyond devastated. But Sharon is the love of his life. You and I both know how hard it is to walk away from that forever.

Lauren: I'm gonna go. If you can't come home with me, I guess I should get some work done, right? [Chuckles] Bye. Love you.

Michael: Lauren, wait. Forget work. None of it matters compared to you. I'm gonna take you home and show you just how much I love you.

[Knock on door]

Sharon: Nick, I'm glad you're here. I hope this means that you're ready to talk like we need to.

Nick: I didn't come here to chat. I have no interest in hearing you defend yourself or try and convince me to come back. I just came to tell you, you're gonna be hearing from Avery. I'm gonna fight for full custody of faith. And I won't stop fighting until I've won.

Chelsea: You got all that?

Billy: Hit me with the last three digits again.

Chelsea: 8-7-3. Do you need a serial number, too?

Billy: No, model number ought to do it. Here we go.

Chelsea: Wh-- what? What is it?

Billy: This model didn't go on the market until may of this year.

Chelsea: Which means someone started spying on Connor and me after Adam died.

Adam: I am so sick of living like a ghost. It's time for me to go home.

Sage: Please stop. You're gonna hurt yourself again. I don't want you to stand up! Let's -- we can talk about this and handle this later! Please sit down!

Constance: I heard raised voices! Is everything all right? Wh-what in god's green earth are you doing out of bed?

Adam: I feel good, actually. I'm stronger and stronger every day. I...

Constance: I'm -- I'm so pleased to hear -- hear that.

Adam: It's been months. I'm ready to take these bandages off.

Constance: No, I don't... I don't -- I don't know.

Adam: Please listen to me. Aren't you ready to see your grandson's face?

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Billy: Vicki's gone. So's her car.

Victoria: This is not the way it should be. [Sobs]
