Episode # 10523 ~ Michael receives unexpected news, while Nikki's dependence on Paul irks Christine.

Hilary: That restaurant -- it's voted one of the best in New York city, and the chef -- he is -- he is known all over the world.
Neil: Yeah. Couch there.
Hilary: Yeah.
Neil: Okay. Yeah, Hilary, um, can I -- can I ask you something?
Hilary: Yeah.
Neil: What are we doing? What are we doing here alone in this, uh -- in this beautiful hotel room in a romantic city, and we're talking about restaurants, you know? You and I haven't -- we haven't been intimate since my accident, you know.
Hilary: Okay, listen, if you're worried that I'm upset about that, don't be. I understand. You -- you need time.
Neil: No, I don't. I don't need any more time. I don't. I need you. I want to make love to you. I want to be the husband that you deserve.
Hilary: You don't have anything to prove to me.
Neil: Hilary, maybe not, but, you see, we both got cheated out of a honeymoon, and I say that we take it right now. We can extend our stay, and we can re-create our wedding night right here, right now. Hmm?
Devon: Hey, thanks again for giving me a ride from the airport.
Cane: I should have let you walk.
Devon: Cane, I'll say it again -- I'm sorry that you got dragged into this, man.
Cane: Well, "sorry" is not gonna cut it, is it?
Devon: What do you want from me?
Cane: You know what I want? I want you to stay away from Hilary. I never thought I would have said this, but I'm actually glad your father's lost his eyesight so he didn't have to walk in that hotel room and see you in bed with his wife.
Devon: You're not gonna say anything to him, though, right?
Cane: I don't know what I'm gonna say to him.
Devon: Cane, there's no reason to hurt Neil right now, especially since Hilary and I promised each other that that's the last time we're gonna do that.
Cane: Okay, but you said that before.
Devon: I know I've said it, but listen to me. I swear to you that it's not gonna happen again, and that's why I need you to keep it from lily, too, please.
Cane: So, basically, what you're asking is that I keep lying to my wife. I keep lying to my father-in-law, right? I don't know if I can do that.
Lauren: So, I was thinking that maybe we would do a raffle contest at the boutique, and the winner could win a free stay here at the club, if that's okay with you.
Lily: Yeah, that's fine. I think that'll be great publicity.
Lauren: Yeah, totally, and the lucky winner can be pampered here for a night or two.
Lily: That sounds good. Something that I hope my dad is experiencing as we speak.
Lauren: Is Neil here?
Lily: No, he went to go surprise Hilary at her hotel in New York.
Lauren: And you're happy about this?
Lily: I know. It's a shocker. [Chuckles] But I think that she might be the key to his happiness, so...
Lauren: And it helps that they're newlyweds. You know, something different and exciting every day.
Lily: You don't have to be a newlywed for that.
Lauren: That's right. Michael has promised me another romantic night tonight. And he should have been here by now. Hmm. What's keeping him?
Michael: Why don't you just come out and say it if I have cancer?
Dr. Botnik: It might not be. There are several possible reasons for an elevated P.S.A.
Michael: Such as...?
Dr. Botnik: Such as prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia. But we need to find out, and we need to do it now.
Avery: Dylan McAvoy, this is Joe Clark, my ex-husband.
Dylan: Ah, I should have recognized you.
Joe: You mean from the pictures of Avery and me on the nightstand next to our bed?
Nikki: Are you kidding me? I help you in a sting to catch Ian, and instead of thanking me, you're accusing me of falling off the wagon?
Paul: Okay, Nikki, what am I supposed to think? A strange woman shows up at your hotel room with a bottle of vodka, expecting you to join her.
Nikki: That woman happened to be Maureen Russell, stitch and Kelly's mother, and we had had an encounter earlier, got into a conversation. I guess she just wanted to continue it over drinks.
Paul: Why drinks?
Nikki: I don't know. Why not? I mean, to her, I'm sure it was just a friendly gesture. She doesn't know I'm a recovering alcoholic.
Paul: I see. So, she just happened by a hotel room that you weren't even registered in.
Nikki: She caught me going in there earlier. I tried to get rid of her, but I guess she didn't get the hint.
Paul: Maybe you could try harder?
Nikki: What, exactly, are you accusing me of?
Victor: Excuse me? Do I know you?
Maureen: Well, we met in passing in the lobby. I-I'd mistaken your wife for someone else.
Victor: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember now. You were calling her sherry.
Maureen: Yes, I was.
Victor: Yes.
Maureen: Well, she and I have had occasion to see each other since then, so when you were looking for her just now, I-I thought I'd help out.
Victor: Why would you have had occasion to see her?
Maureen: We have something in common.
Victor: Ah. What would that be?
Dylan: [Sighs] I'm sure you've been waiting a long time to get that off your chest, and if you have anything else to say to me, that's fine, but don't put Avery in the middle.
Joe: Avery's always been in the middle.
Avery: Okay, let's not do this.
Joe: Look, I have no reason to be contentious.
Avery: Then you should have kept quiet.
Joe: I've spent hours having imaginary conversations in my head -- arguments, discussions. But I have no intention of moving on that any further. Look, we've all moved on. What good is it gonna do to push around blame? It's over. Done. We've made new lives.
Avery: Well, I hope you mean that, Joe.
Joe: Well, I've learned a lot since we were married.
Dylan: And what are you doing in Genoa City?
Avery: Uh, Joe's just here on real-estate business.
Joe: I thought you would have told him when I came to town.
Dylan: And when was that?
Joe: A week or so ago, when you were in jail.
Michael: What do I do next?
Dr. Botnik: Tests, including a core needle biopsy.
Michael: Ooh. Just what I always wanted.
Dr. Botnik: It's not as bad as you think. My nurse will schedule it for you. What's a good time?
Michael: Is there ever a good time for this?
Dr. Botnik: Michael, please.
Michael: The thing is that I am very busy. As you know, I just launched a new, uh, firm. My partner and clients depend on me.
Dr. Botnik: Your family depends on you, too.
Michael: When I've cleared my calendar, I will call your office, and I will make an appointment. Thank you.
Dr. Botnik: Look, Michael, make room for this. I know it's hard to accept that we're not invulnerable, but as your doctor, I can't treat what I don't know. So do this for yourself, for Lauren...and your son.
Michael: I'll take care of it.
Paul: I'm not accusing you of anything.
Nikki: Oh, really? Well, that's exactly what it sounds like.
Paul: Well, I just can't imagine you wanting to spend time with stitch and Kelly's mother, especially after all the pain they caused your daughter. Unless, you know --
Nikki: Okay, all right. Fine. You've caught me. Actually, Maureen and I have started a speakeasy. She's my moll, and, uh, we're making bootleg hooch in the bathtub.
Paul: [Scoffs] Okay, Nik. You know, you can joke all you want, but I do know your history, and it wasn't that long ago when I saw you sitting at the club with a vodka tonic for company.
Nikki: Yeah, I told you all about that.
Paul: Oh, I know. You ordered it for the head of the G.C. Police foundation.
Nikki: Yes, who I was going to be meeting with, and she called and wasn't able to come. Or do you think I was lying then, too?
Paul: Well, I don't know.
Were you lying?
Nikki: You know, Paul, after everything we have been through, and after everything that we went through today for our son, I thought that I would have earned a little trust from you. Apparently, I was mistaken. Nik, don't do this. Please.
Maureen: I'm Ben Russell's mother, Maureen. Stitch and his sister, Kelly.
Victor: Whoa. Well, that's quite a coincidence that you would run into my wife.
Maureen: Well, we've actually seen each other a few times now, and I'd like to think it's for a reason.
Victor: Oh, really? What would that be?
Maureen: Ah, friendship. Maybe family, if Ben is the father of Victoria's child.
Victor: Whoa, whoa, whoa. I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself.
Maureen: Well, it's not gonna be long now, you know.
Victor: Did you say you knew where Nikki was?
Maureen: Well, yeah, um, at the -- at a charity meeting. And from the way she was talking, it sounded like it could be a long one.
Victor: All right.
Maureen: Well, it's very nice to meet you formally. Uh, I should be going.
Victor: Um... would you mind having another drink with me?
Maureen: I-I guess I have time for another drink.
Victor: All right. So, um...why don't you tell me the truth now?
Maureen: What makes you think I'm not telling the truth?
Victor: [Chuckles] You striking up a friendship with my wife was not an accident, now, was it?
Maureen: I'm not a manipulative person, Mr. Newman.
Victor: You're trying to lobby for your son, aren't you? You're trying to convince my wife to talk to Victoria and to tell her that she should give stitch another chance, right?
Maureen: My son does not need me to fight his battles. Although, if he and Victoria find their way back to each other, I'd be for that. He's very much in love with her.
Victor: Well, so he led me to believe, as well. He also led me to believe that he is an upstanding citizen, a doctor, and a war hero. What a hell of a combination. My goodness. That happens very rarely. So you can imagine that I was very disappointed to find out that your son is also a convicted murderer.
Maureen: It was a terrible thing. It was a tragedy for the whole family.
Victor: You bet it is. But that doesn't mitigate the fact that he has hurt my daughter. And anyone who hurts my family... I will never forget... and I rarely forgive. You have a nice day. Enjoy your drink.
Paul: I just don't want you walking away because you think I'm angry and I'm doubting you.
Nikki: Well, that's exactly what you're doing.
Paul: No, it's not. It's just that your life has been so complicated ever since Katherine sent you on this journey to find your son.
Nikki: Our son.
Paul: Our son. But even the last few days with Ian, putting yourself at risk -- I mean, it's even been worse. It is perfectly understandable if the pressure has been too much for you. I mean, even considering that Victor's been out of town. It all adds up.
Nikki: Actually, that's kind of made things easier. And God knows if Victor had an inkling that you and I were trying to set up Ian...
Paul: I'm sure he'll have something to say about that.
Nikki: Yeah. Look, thank you for your concern, but I am not on any kind of downward spiral. You have nothing to worry about, Paul.
Paul: [Scoffs] It's too late for that.
Nikki: Oh, stop.
[Door opens]
Christine: Oh. I'm sorry. I thought you would have been gone by now.
Nikki: Hi.
Paul: Oh, uh, no. Uh, Nikki and I were just taking a Victory lap, you know, because Dylan's a free man, and Ian is behind bars.
Nikki: Or are we jumping the gun there?
Christine: No, I made sure all the charges against Dylan were officially dropped and expunged from his record.
Nikki: Oh, thank God. What about Ian?
Christine: He's facing multiple counts, and he's not gonna get away with it. He's gonna go to prison for a long, long time.
Paul: Hey! We make a hell of a team. [Chuckles]
Christine: That we do.
[Cell phone rings]
Nikki: Hello?
Maureen: Nikki. Hi. Uh, it's Maureen. I-I thought you should know that I ran into your husband at the athletic club. He was looking for you.
Nikki: What did you say?
Maureen: Don't worry. I-I kept your confidence about your...extracurricular activity. Um, I told him that you were at a charity meeting.
Nikki: I see.
Maureen: And don't worry about, uh, crossing paths here. He -- he said he was on his way home.
Nikki: Okay, well, thanks for calling. Bye-bye.
Paul: Is everything okay?
Nikki: Oh, everything is fine. I-I just have to get going. I'll see you later. Good to see you, Christine.
Christine: See you.
Paul: Uh...
Devon: Cane, what good is it gonna do to tell lily what you saw in New York? Can you just please do me a favor and forget that you saw the whole thing?
Lily: Hey. Welcome back. I missed you.
Cane: I missed you, too.
Lily: So weird that you guys got in at the same time.
Devon: I know, right? It's crazy.
Lauren: So, lily tells me you just got back from the pebble beach car show.
Devon: Yeah, I did. It was -- it was something. It was fun.
Lily: Oh, uh, how was Hilary? Was she really excited that dad showed up?
Cane: Yeah, it was, uh, more of a surprise than he expected. It was quite a reunion.
Lily: Oh, good. That's good to hear. Well, sit down. I want to hear all the details.
Lauren: You know what? Why don't you take my chair? I am gonna go check on Michael.
Devon: Okay.
Lauren: Nice to see you.
Devon: Good to see you, too.
Lily: Bye. See you later.
Cane: Bye. Can I get a chair?
Devon: I need to make some phone calls, actually, so...
Lily: Okay, yeah. Sure. Hey.
Cane: Hey, baby.
Lily: I missed you.
Cane: I missed you, too.
Lily: Oh, here you go.
Cane: Thanks, babe.
Devon: I think my -- I think my phone fell out of my pocket.
Lily: Oh, why don't you call it? Go to the bar and use the landline.
Devon: That's a good idea.
Lily: Yeah.
Neil: Thank you. Okay. Hey, we're all set. I even got us a late -- a late checkout tomorrow. Where are you?
Hilary: Right here.
Neil: Okay. Hey, that means that we can take our time and re-create every... glorious... moment... of our wedding night. Hmm? Let me get that.
Hilary: I can't do this.
Neil: What? What do you mean you can't do this?
Hilary: I just -- I have this report due for Jack first thing in the morning, and I haven't even started.
Neil: Why? A report? Listen, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you were -- you're trying to get rid of me. [Chuckles]
Hilary: No.
[Cell phone ringing]
Neil: Is that Devon's phone?
Devon: Where the hell is it?
Neil: Why is Devon's phone here?
Hilary: What? Uh... Devon's phone?
Neil: Yeah. That -- the ringtone. That's his.
Hilary: No, it can't be his. It's -- oh, it's -- it's mine.
Neil: You have the exact same ringtone? I mean, that's -- that's really a coincidence.
Hilary: It's just funny. You know, I must have heard it, and it just got stuck in my head.
[Cell phone ringing]
Hilary: Um, give me a second. I'm gonna take this. Hello?
Devon: Hilary?
Hilary: Hi, Jack.
Devon: Oh, my gosh. I left it there.
Hilary: I have it covered.
Devon: W-w-what did you say to Neil? How'd you explain it?
Hilary: Uh, you know, don't worry. I will have that report in to you tomorrow as planned, and I will brief you on everything else when I get back home.
Devon: Listen, Hilary, I'm sorry that I put you in this position.
Hilary: I-I'd better get back to work now.
Devon: Wait. Hilary. I love you.
Hilary: I know. Bye.
Lauren: [Gasps] Oh. [Giggles] Mm. Honey. Honey, I-I've been leaving you voicemails. I was just about to text you again.
Michael: Yeah, I'm sorry. I didn't check. I was busy.
Lauren: Where were you?
Michael: Doesn't matter. It only matters where we're going.
Lauren: No. Okay, honey, one second. Um, are you sure you're up to this?
Michael: Do you need to even ask?
Lauren: Uh... [Chuckles] Well, we did exert a lot of energy this morning, so...
Michael: I've got my second wind. Actually, I've got my third wind, and I'm ready to go again. Besides, I promised you we'd pick up where we left off, right?
Lauren: Yes, you did.
Michael: So...
Lauren: You did promise me that.
Michael: We paid for the room. Let's go.
Lauren: All right.
Joe: Well, I apologize for making things awkward.
Dylan: Oh, no, you didn't. No, I know perfectly well why Avery didn't tell me that you were in town. We had more important things to discuss.
Joe: Well, I'm sure you did.
Dylan: Yeah, your appearance here kind of fell through the cracks because Avery and I were in the middle of catching and putting away Ian ward, who's put us through hell and a lot of other people in this town.
Joe: The man who you were accused of killing?
Dylan: We knew he wasn't dead. We just had to prove it.
Avery: And that's why Dylan was in jail. It was all part of a plan to smoke Ian out.
Joe: So you being worried was an act?
Avery: Yes.
Dylan: And it worked. We pulled it off together.
Joe: Well, I can imagine how relieved you are.
Avery: [Exhales deeply] You have no idea.
Joe: Well, I'm relieved, too, knowing that you're a hero, not a murderer. I'd hate to see you end up with somebody who's not worthy of you.
Avery: [Chuckles] I would hate that, too.
Joe: Well, I should let you go. See, if I'd have known that you were Michael Baldwin's partner, I wouldn't have come here looking for an attorney.
Avery: Listen, I have no problem with you retaining Michael. We're a new firm. We can use the clients, so thank you for your business.
Joe: Of course. Hey, congratulations on your get-out-of-jail-free card.
Dylan: So... when were you gonna tell me your ex was in town?
Nikki: [Sighs] Oh, my God.
Victor: Am I glad you're finally home, baby.
Nikki: Hi.
Victor: My goodness.
Nikki: I-I had a lot to do.
Victor: I've missed you. What's the matter?
Nikki: Nothing. I-I had a-a long, strenuous day.
Victor: Did something happen at the charity meeting, or what?
Nikki: Oh, no, there was no charity meeting.
Victor: But that's not what your best friend of the moment, Maureen, told me. I ran into her at the club.
Nikki: Yeah, so did I. I had to make up a story to get rid of her.
Victor: Why'd you get rid of her?
Nikki: She was interfering in a police operation.
Victor: What police operation?
Nikki: I was being used as bait to catch Ian ward.
Victor: What? I thought that son of a bitch was dead.
Nikki: Well, he's not dead. He's very much alive, but he's in jail, and I... helped put him there.
Lily: Hi. Oh. I'm being summoned. I'll be right back.
Cane: All right, babe. So, let me guess. You lost your phone in New York.
Devon: Hilary managed to cover it with Neil, but...
Cane: Okay, let me tell you this, all right? I am done. I'm done lying to lily, and I'm done enabling you and Hilary. No more. Hey.
Lily: Hey. I got it handled. You can stay with -- talk to Devon.
Cane: Yeah, um --
Joe: Cane, lily.
Lily: Hi.
Cane: Hey, Joe.
Joe: All good?
Lily: Yeah, we're great. How are you?
Cane: Yeah, we're good.
Joe: Yeah.
Cane: So, uh, did you, uh, talk to Michael?
Joe: Oh, thanks for the recommendation. Yeah, probably not such a good idea.
Cane: Why is that?
Joe: Well, it could get complicated working with my ex-wife's law partner.
Lily: Your ex-wife?
Cane: Wait, wait, wait. Hang on. You guys...
Joe: Yeah, Avery and I used to be married, and it wasn't exactly a happy ending.
Avery: Are you the same Dylan McAvoy who just, moments ago, backed me in front of Joe? You said I didn't confide in you because the two of us were in the middle of bringing Ian ward to justice. Or was that just for my ex-husband?
Dylan: As a matter of fact, yeah, it was.
Avery: Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
Dylan: You're kidding me. During all the visits to me in jail, you couldn't have taken 20 seconds to tell me your ex moved back to town?
Avery: He didn't move back to town. He is in town briefly, and now he's going back to Chicago.
Dylan: See, that was less than 20 seconds. Why didn't you tell me?
Avery: Because there's nothing to tell. He was here, and now he's leaving.
Dylan: Then why is he here looking for a local lawyer to help him with a real-estate deal?
Avery: I don't know. I don't care. Look, Joe could move to Genoa City. He could move right next door to us for all I care. You and I -- we should be celebrating. You're free, and it's the end of Ian ward, and instead, we're belaboring this -- what was that for?
Dylan: You're right. This is a great day, and I don't want to ruin it by being stupid.
Avery: You think you can just shut me up with one great kiss?
Dylan: That was my plan. You think it'll work?
Avery: I don't know. Try again.
Paul: So, uh, would it be a breach of conduct for the chief of police to tell the district attorney how beautiful she looks today?
Christine: Yes, I believe it would, but, you know, please, go ahead.
Paul: Okay. You know, it, um, is really a turn-on when I see you throw the book at someone.
Christine: [Chuckles] Oh, yeah?
Paul: Yeah. Watching you go toe-to-toe with the bad guys. Very erotic.
Christine: All in a day's work.
Paul: Yeah. But you know what I really love? That you agreed to my plan even though it meant bending a few rules. Because if you hadn't, Ian would still be out there, and Dylan would be in jail. So I want to thank you for that, madam D.A.
Christine: [Chuckles] Okay. You're welcome, but let's get something straight. I went along with your plan because it was smart, not because you're my husband and not because Dylan's your son. And I did it despite my misgivings about Nikki being part of it.
Paul: Well, she really came through.
Christine: [Scoffs] Not without your help. She always manages to need your help with something.
Paul: [Sighs] This has been a very difficult time for her.
Christine: But there's something more going on with Nikki where you're concerned. And if you can't see that, you're lying to yourself.
Victor: Why would you put yourself in harm's way? And why wasn't I in the loop?
Nikki: Well, why wasn't I in the loop when you decided to pass on our son's wedding in favor of God knows what kind of business it was, wherever it was? And for your information, I was not in harm's way.
Victor: What do you mean you weren't in harm's way? Ian ward showed up in your hotel room.
Nikki: Yes, and thanks to Dylan and Paul, he is now arrested and out of our lives for good. I only hope your trip was half as worthwhile.
Victor: Wait a minute. Do I need to remind you that I wanted to stay behind? I offered to stay behind. You encouraged me to go.
Nikki: I-I don't even know what you're talking about.
Victor: You're not yourself. You look very flushed and very jittery.
Nikki: [Sighs]
Victor: Paul Williams should never have dragged you into this. Obviously, it upset you.
Nikki: No, I'm not upset. Everything worked out just perfectly, as it should have. Why can't you just be happy for me?
Victor: What do you mean you're not upset? Obviously, you're upset. Why are we arguing? Let's sit down, calmly discuss things. All right?
Nikki: I'm exhausted. Whatever we have to talk about, we can do it in the morning.
Lauren: Wow.
Michael: [Panting]
Lauren: Wow!
Michael: [Laughs] And I thought it was intense earlier. [Exhales deeply]
Lauren: What do you call it when a couple who's been married for years can't keep their hands off each other?
Michael: [Grunts] Science fiction.
Lauren: [Chuckling] Michael.
Michael: I call it being alive. I'll call it being 100%, absolutely alive.
Lauren: Whatever you had for breakfast this morning, I want you to eat it again, but in 24 hours. This girl needs a rest.
Michael: Lightweight.
Lauren: Ohh. Ah, and I need a shower, too. You know what? It's not just the sex. I am crazy about you.
Michael: Lauren... I'm crazy about you, too.
Lauren: [Chuckles] I lied. It's all about the sex for me.
Michael: You are the worst.
Lauren: Ahh!
Michael: [Chuckles] Yeah. Hi, ed. Um, I'd like to go ahead and schedule those tests.
Nikki: Victor?
[Cell phone rings]
Nikki: [Groans] Hi, Maureen.
Maureen: Hi, Nikki. Um, I hope I'm not bothering you. I-I just wanted to see if you were okay.
Nikki: No, I'm just fine, thank you. Um, listen, in the future, you don't need to lie to my husband for me.
Maureen: What about your little, um --
Nikki: My husband and I, uh, have problems just like any other couple, but, uh, we don't keep any secrets from each other.
Maureen: Oh, how very progressive of you.
Nikki: It works for us.
Maureen: Okay, well, the offer still stands if you, uh, ever want a friend or, um, a friendly drink.
Nikki: Well, that's very sweet of you. I will keep that in mind. Good to talk to you.
Maureen: Okay. Bye.
Nikki: Bye-bye. Huh. Huh.
Paul: Nikki has been in a vulnerable place lately. Victor has not been all that accessible. If she's turning to me, it's only because she has nowhere else to go.
Christine: She's got her children to turn to and other friends besides you. And yet she's always knocking on your door.
[Door slams]
Victor: What is this I hear about you using Nikki as bait to catch Ian ward? Are you crazy or what?
Paul: Victor, take it easy.
Victor: I will do no such thing! What kind of a cockamamie operation are you running here?!
Christine: Ian is in custody. I thought you'd be thanking us, Victor.
Victor: I need a moment alone with your husband.
[Door closes]
Paul: Look, before you say anything, there is something I need to tell you about Nikki.
Avery: I take this to mean we're good?
Dylan: Guy's leaving town soon, right?
Avery: Very soon.
Dylan: Then you and I are good. You and I are good. I just -- you know, I can't help but to get a little jealous where you're concerned.
Avery: There is no reason for you to be jealous.
Dylan: Thank you for helping me see that.
Avery: Yeah. Sometimes, you need a little help.
Dylan: Yeah. Yeah, I know. We have it all, don't we? Your sister's back. We nailed the criminal who pretended to be my father.
Avery: Yes, and you accomplished that with the man that actually is your father.
Dylan: There's some poetic justice in that.
Avery: So...about that celebration...
Dylan: Yeah, what do you have in mind?
Avery: Well, it's unlikely that Michael will be coming back to the office tonight.
Dylan: That's convenient.
Avery: Yes, it is. So is the conference room. So, come with me... and let's confer.
Joe: Yeah, so that's how it happened. I'm not blaming anyone. It just wasn't meant to be.
Lily: Have you seen Avery since you've been in town?
Joe: Yeah, a couple times. I actually met Dylan today.
Cane: Oh. How'd that go?
Joe: A little rough at first, but it ended well enough. Yeah, I'm happy for Avery. I'm glad it worked out for them.
Lily: Wow. That's pretty noble of you, considering what they put you through.
Joe: Yeah, anytime there's infidelity in a relationship, there's always more than one reason or one person's fault, but, yeah, sometimes it works out for the best.
Neil: Hey. Yeah, that's more like it.
Hilary: I thought you were asleep. Did I wake you? Sorry.
Neil: Even if you had, I wouldn't have minded one bit. You hear me? Mm. [Smooches] You get that report done?
Hilary: Almost. I got tired. I thought that I would take a shower and see if it would wake me up. Didn't work. I'm gonna have to finish it first thing in the morning.
Neil: Yeah.
Hilary: Yeah.
Neil: Well, I hope you're not too tired for your lover man. Hmm? [Smooching] Baby? What's going on? What is it? Hmm?
Hilary: Can you just -- can you just hold me tonight?
Neil: Yeah. Sure, if that's what you need. Come here.
Hilary: Yeah, that's...
Neil: Oh, my baby. My baby. I got you. We have all the time in the world for the rest, all right?
Paul: First of all, I want you to know that Nikki was never in any danger from Ian. Dylan and I made sure of that. But I am concerned about her nonetheless.
Victor: I'm in no mood for riddles. What's your point?
Paul: Even though Nikki is safe now...the past few months have taken their toll on her.
Victor: [Sarcastically] Really? And you don't think I knew that?
Paul: Then why are you leaving town so often? I understand your commitment to your companies, but what about your commitment to your wife?
Victor: I am very committed to Nikki, all right?
Paul: Then prove it. Stop taking these trips. She needs you here.
Victor: Let me give you a piece of advice. You don't lecture me on what my wife needs, what she doesn't need. I know what she needs. You worry about your own marriage.
Nikki: So long, Ian ward. You thought you were gonna destroy me, didn't you? Well, take a good look. I'm still standing. Oh, yes, I am still standing.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Phyllis: Be honest with me.
Jack: I'll try.
Phyllis: What are you trying to protect me from?
Victor: What do you think I was looking for?
Nick: A way to get Sharon out of my life for good.
Ashley: Oh, thank you. That's nice of you.
