Episode # 10512 ~ Friends & family gather for Nick & Sharon's wedding!
Provided By Suzanne
[Organ music plays]
Phyllis: Can I help you?
Officer: Yes, ma'am. You can put your hands where I can see them. You're under arrest.
Nick: Let's do this.
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of God to witness and bless the marriage of Nicholas and Sharon. The sacrament of marriage was ordained by our Lord and is to be entered into joyfully, lovingly, and reverently. This should be one of the most memorable days of your life, especially as we take into account the difficult road you traveled to be here. But that pain and that anguish you endured has only served to strengthen your faith in our creator and your love for one another. Now you stand here together before all of your loved ones, prepared to join your lives as one and reunite your family. What a beautiful cause for celebration. As you strive to fulfill the commitment you make here today...
Abby: Dad?
Nikki: It's not like your father to miss this.
Abby: Did he say for sure he was coming?
Who gives this woman to this man?
Sharon: I give myself to him.
Nick: And I give myself to you.
Faith: We do!
Summer: [Chuckles] That's right.
Noah: Absolutely.
Summer: We give them to each other.
Mariah: Sure.
Nick: Looks like it's unanimous.
Phyllis: What's this about, officer?
Officer: Assault with a deadly weapon.
Phyllis: There must be some mistake. My family needs me. It's extremely important I see --
Officer: Okay, ma'am, if that's how you want it...
Phyllis: Okay. You don't understand. There's somewhere I need to be. I am late already. All right, you know what? Just wait! You have to listen to me. In the car, that man I -- I was looking out the window when I felt his hand on my... [Scoffs] Wait. He hasn't thought this through. He's wasting your time. Did he file a complaint? Yeah? Maybe you pulled him over? He gave you an excuse for driving erratically? Did he say, "oh, this crazy broad, she tried to hit me with a flashlight"? Well, you know what? He is going to drop the charges when he realizes I will go to trial, and I will announce to the jury, the world what a predatory piece of human garbage he is. I will fill in his wife, his family, his friends, and then tell them what he tried to do to me when I was just out of the hospital. I will tell them how he tried to grope me, how he tried to force himself on me, and how I had to fear for my safety and defend myself. So you know what? You call him and you tell him that. He will drop the charges, okay? [Inhales sharply] You're just wasting your time here. You're wasting your time.
Officer: Ma'am, are you okay?
Phyllis: Uh... ow.
May God bless you and keep you in his constant care. On the journey you began together so many years ago and continue on today...
Nick: Sharon, what did you say?
Sharon: I love you. I want to be your wife.
Nick: I do love you, more than anything.
Sharon: I know, Nicholas.
Nick: For so long, all I dreamed about was getting married to you.
Sharon: So what are we waiting for?
Nick: You're right. Let's do it. Let's get married right now, tonight.
Sharon: Nicholas, I love you. I love you so much.
Nick: Oh, God, I love you, too. Let me show you how much. Here it is, Mrs. Newman -- our new home.
Sharon: Oh, Nicholas, it's beautiful.
Nick: All I want is to make you the happiest woman in the world, Sharon.
Sharon: You've already done that, Nicholas. I can't imagine being any happier than I am right now... this moment.
Everlasting undeniable true love
Nick: What are you doing?
Sharon: We're having a party. Can you live with that?
Love so pure and beautiful my greatest joy my sweetest friend only you everything that's good in me came from you now I must believe if I can stay strong, you will live on everlasting undeniable true love never ending it was pure and beautiful my greatest joy my sweetest friend
Sharon: For many, many more moments as lovely as this one.
Nick: Yes.
Sharon and Nicholas, today, as you join yourselves in marriage, there is a vast and unknown future stretching out before you. The story of your life together is yours to write. Through your devotion, may you grow and nurture a love that makes both of you better people, that continues to give you great joy and also a passion for living that provides you with the patience and energy to face the responsibilities of life. Are both of you prepared to make this commitment? Please respond, "I can, and I will." Nicholas?
Nick: I can, and I will. After everything that Sharon and I have been through together, there isn't anything that I don't know about you.
Sharon: I... I am more than ready. I can, and I will.
If anyone else here can show just cause by this man and this woman may not be lawfully wedded, let him speak now or forever hold his peace.
Nicholas and Sharon's family members have some things they'd like to share on this special day. Who wants to be first?
Noah: I'll go.
Nick: Go for it.
Abby: [Sighs] For a second, I thought dad was gonna come crashing through those doors. Wait. Are you okay? What's wrong?
Victoria: No, it's okay. I -- I don't want to interrupt the ceremony.
Abby: Is it the baby?
Victoria: [Exhales deeply] For a second there, I thought it was a contraction.
Nikki: If you're having contractions, we have to get to the hospital right now.
Abby: No, you stay. I'll go. I'm her Lamaze coach. It's fine. Let's go.
Nikki: Okay.
Abby: We got to get you to the hospital.
Noah: Everybody, take a look at my mom. Isn't she beautiful? And I'm not just talking about her face or her dress. I'm talking about her character, the kind of person she is. She's kind and caring... funny, intelligent... loyal...and strong. Man, is she strong. About a year ago, she was in a very dark place. And everyone that knows her was worried about her, for good reason. She overcame that, and you turned your life around.
Sharon: It's because you and your father believed in me and supported me.
Noah: Of course we did. But you made the decision to get better. And you did what you had to make it happen. You had to do the work, and now you're redeemed. It is a miracle, to me, to see how far you've come, how brave you've been. Look at you, mom -- you're whole again, in mind, body, spirit. You're my mom again. And that's something that, at its lowest point, I... I thought might never happen again. You know, when I realized that you and dad were trying to find each other again... I had my doubts, and I made no secret of it. I was worried that you weren't ready, that you'd wind up getting hurt again. But you two overcame the doubters and the haters and, yeah, even your own mistakes. You proved to everybody, including me, that your love isn't just for today, for yesterday, for tomorrow -- every day. And I am so proud to be a part of it.
Nick: Thanks, dude.
Noah: I love you, dad.
Nick: I love you so much.
Noah: Be happy.
Nick: We will.
Sharon: [Voice breaking] That was so beautiful. Thank you.
Noah: I meant every word.
Summer: I was a very lucky girl growing up. I had the love and support from someone like Nick. And thanks to Nick and my father, Jack, I'm able to spend my life with the man that I love. I have a poem that I would like to read that I learned in school. And it was homework, then, which Nick helped me struggle through every day, but now it has very special meaning to me. It's called "unending love," by rabindranath Tagore. "I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times... in life after life, in age after age forever. My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs that you take as a gift, wear around your neck in your many forms, in life after life, in age after age forever. You and I have floated here on the stream that brings from the fount at the heart of time love of one for another. We have played alongside millions of lovers, shared in the same shy sweetness of meeting, the same distressful tears of farewell -- old love, but in shapes that renew and renew forever. Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you, the love of all man's days both past and forever -- universal joy, universal sorrow, and universal life, the memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours -- and the songs of every poet past and forever." [Sighs]
Sharon: Thank you so much, sweetheart. That was gorgeous.
Summer: I love you.
Nick: I love you, too.
Sharon, will you have Nicholas to be your husband, to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health and, forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live? You may respond, "I will."
Sharon: Wait. There's something else that I need to say first.
Abby: Here we go.
Victoria: It was just a few twinges, Abby.
Abby: Well, if you're having contractions, that's not little.
Victoria: Okay.
Abby: Here. Come here.
Victoria: Help me.
[Both grunt]
Abby: Got it?
Victoria: Okay. Good.
Abby: Up you go.
Victoria: I'm stuck. [Panting]
Abby: All right.
Victoria: Okay. It's over.
Abby: Good. Breathe. You okay?
Victoria: I feel awful making you miss Nick's wedding.
Abby: Don't, don't. This is important and far less nauseating than watching our brother marry that head case again.
Victoria: That's true. But even if the baby is ready to be born, it's gonna be hours before anything happens.
Abby: Victoria...
Victoria: [Exhales deeply] Okay, look -- just go back to the church. I'll be in good hands here.
Abby: Yeah, you will be -- with me.
Dr. Chiverton: And me.
Abby: Dr. Chiverton, thank you so much for getting here so quickly.
Dr. Chiverton: Well, I was in the building, which always helps. So, Victoria, I understand you're having contractions.
Victoria: Yeah. It started about an hour ago. I mean, they were pretty mild at first.
Dr. Chiverton: Getting stronger?
Victoria: Somewhat.
Dr. Chiverton: How far apart? Have you been timing them?
Abby: Yes, seven minutes, give or take.
Dr. Chiverton: Regular or irregular?
Victoria: Getting pretty regular.
Abby: Victoria's mom and I, we thought that this was nothing to mess around with, so, uh, here we are.
Dr. Chiverton: That was good advice. I'm glad you brought her in. Now, if you don't mind stepping outside, I'll examine her.
Abby: Right, right. Okay. Um... listen, be good for the doctor.
Victoria: All right. I will text you at the church and let you know how everything went.
Abby: Ha! Yeah, right. I will be out here in the hall, checking out the cute male interns.
Victoria: [Exhales deeply]
Dr. Chiverton: Right. Should we get started?
Victoria: Wait a second, doctor. Look, we both know that this is a high-risk pregnancy, so I just need you to tell me... just tell me that my baby's gonna be okay.
Dr. Chiverton: Okay.
Sharon: I know that we didn't plan this, but... there's something more. I have to say something that I want to add to the vows. Because for Nicholas and me, this time, everything is going to be different. I have one promise to make and one request.
Nick: Name it.
Sharon: Being open and honest is something I've always struggled with. I guess I... I'm just always so worried about how other people are gonna take things. But I promise to trust in your love for me -- to come to you and be vulnerable, no matter how...painful or embarrassing or how silly it is. [Chuckles]
Nick: Awesome. So what's the request?
Sharon: That you forgive me, not only for all of my past mistakes but... for all the ones I'm sure to make between now and "death do us part."
Nick: Done. Anything else?
Sharon: Just...thank you... for standing by my side. Even in my darkest hour, when no one else believed in me, you did. And I -- I want to spend the rest of my life being grateful for that and returning the favor.
Nick: Sorry, everyone. I'm just skipping right to the part where I kiss my bride.
Sharon: [Chuckles] [Chuckles] Oh, um, and, by the way, yes, I will. [Laughter]
Nick: I've, uh... I've made a lot of mistakes, too. Some were entertaining. Some were extremely painful to the people that mattered to me most. [Sighs] I promise to do everything I can to avoid making those in the future. I also know honesty is a two-way street. And I know my report card in that area is not exactly filled with A's. I promise to be open with you, to make you feel safe, to know that you can come to me without being judged. I also promise to do everything I can to make our house a real home and not just for us but for all our children -- all of them, the whole motley crew.
Sharon: [Chuckles]
Nick: It means so much to me to have you all standing up here with us, supporting what Sharon and I are doing. It means the world to me. I also know that there's some people out there who don't think this is gonna work, that our marriage is doomed to fail despite the fact that we know differently.
Sharon: Yes, we definitely do.
Nick: So I'm taking this chance not because it's a long shot or a maybe or another mistake. This time, our love is going to win out over everything else. You're up, rev. [Chuckles] Thank you. Nicholas, will you have Sharon to be your wife, to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her, as long as you both shall live?
Nick: I will.
Will all of you witnessing these promises do all in your power to uphold these two persons in their marriage?
Michael: Oh, yeah.
Together: We will.
[Laughter]
The rings, please. Bless, oh, Lord, these rings, to be a sign of the vows by which Nicholas and Sharon have bound themselves to each other. Amen.
Nick: Sharon, I give you this ring as a symbol of the promise we made to each other today.
Sharon: Nicholas, I give you this ring as a symbol of the promises we've made today to each other.
Now that Nicholas and Sharon have given themselves to each other by solemn vows with the joining of hands and the giving and receiving of rings, I do, by virtue of authority vested in me by the state --
Summer: Mom?
Victoria: You're not saying much. Am I going into labor? I know it's too soon. Is this baby in trouble, doctor?
Dr. Chiverton: You need to stay calm, Victoria.
Victoria: Okay, calm, sure. No problem. Calm.
Dr. Chiverton: I understand it's difficult, but as you know, babies have a way of knowing when it's time to be born, and yours isn't ready. What you're experiencing today, it's not premature labor.
Victoria: Okay. What about the pains?
Dr. Chiverton: They're called Braxton-hicks contractions. They're very common at this stage of pregnancy. They've already subsided. It's been at least 15 minutes since your last one, right?
Victoria: Yeah, I think so. Okay. [Chuckles] So then the baby's okay?
Dr. Chiverton: Heartbeat's normal. You're not beginning to dilate. Everything appears to be just fine.
Victoria: Oh, God. Oh, thank God.
Dr. Chiverton: I still want to run some tests, but all signs point to your giving birth on schedule. Still plenty of time to paint the nursery, buy some more baby clothes.
Victoria: [Sighs] Okay, great. Thank you.
Abby: Hey, Billy, it's me. Brace yourself -- I'm at the hospital with Victoria. Yeah, um, she started having contractions at Nick's wedding, and so I drove her right over here. She's in with dr. Chiverton right now, being examined, and I am praying by the magazines. Look, I hate leaving this kind of message on someone's voicemail, but I figured that you'd want to know. Listen, please call me back, okay? And you know what? Better yet, get your butt over here. Victoria needs someone to help her get through this, someone besides her Lamaze partner. She needs you, Billy. [Sighs]
Summer: Mom. Mom! Hi! Oh, my gosh. Now this is happening! How'd you get here? When did you wake up? Mom? Mom! [All gasping] Mom!
Jack: Phyllis? Phyllis?
Summer: Mom?
Jack: Help me get her -- her head.
Courtney: Step back, please! Someone, can you call an ambulance?
Avery: I've got it.
Courtney: Give her some air.
Avery: Hi. This is Avery bailey Clark. I am at the chapel of the good shepherd on elm street. My sister just collapsed. We need an ambulance.
Jack: Phyllis.
Faith: What's Phyllis doing here? I thought she was in the hospital.
Nick: Yeah, we thought so, too.
Mariah: That's Phyllis?
The Phyllis?
Kevin: That's her, all right.
Mariah: Summer's mom, who's been in a coma?
Kevin: I'm guessing from the fact that she was standing just a minute ago that she's not in a coma anymore.
Mariah: Yeah, no, I understand that.
Kevin: Yeah, her son Daniel's my best friend. He had her at this clinic in Georgia, where they were doing these experimental treatments.
Mariah: And that's where she's been this whole time.
Kevin: Yeah.
Mariah: Must be one hell of a clinic if they dress her like that.
Avery: Hold on.
Lauren: Oh, my God. She's here. She's home.
Michael: I had no idea that she was even close to... now this?
Lauren: Avery didn't say anything to you?
Michael: What, that Phyllis could recover at any minute? No, look at her. She's stunned herself.
Lauren: What about Nick and Sharon? I can't even imagine what's going through their heads right now. I mean... Sharon's worst enemy materializes at the wedding?
Michael: Well, obviously, Phyllis had an agenda.
Lauren: That's how you know she's really back.
Devon: Avery's with her now and Jack.
Neil: Wow. Jack must be in shock.
Cane: All that matters now is that Phyllis is okay. But once the ambulance gets here, the question is, what is gonna happen to them?
Neil: You mean where the wedding's concerned?
Devon: The minister never got to the part where he pronounced them husband and wife.
Neil: See, if you ask me, that's key.
Cane: Guess the marriage isn't official.
Lily: Oh, God, you guys, the reception.
Cane: [Sighs]
Devon: I'll head to the club, and I'll put it on hold. You stay here and be here for your friend, okay?
Cane: Neil.
Neil: What?
Cane: Want me to drive you home?
Neil: Yeah, that would be great. Appreciate that.
Cane: I got you. Okay, straight ahead.
Courtney: The victim's still unconscious, but she's breathing on her own. Yeah, I don't think she hit herself when she collapsed. What's your ETA? Okay.
Jack: How soon till the medics get here?
Courtney: They said a few more minutes.
Avery: How does Phyllis wake up from a yearlong coma, travel from Georgia, and show up at a wedding -- this wedding -- without any of us knowing?
Jack: Once she comes to, we're gonna find that out.
Lily: Hey, are you okay?
Kelly: I guess I could lie and say yes, but... I don't know.
Nikki: Never in a million years would I have guessed this.
Nick: I know.
Nikki: Well, under the circumstances, I think it's best if you postpone the ceremony.
Nick: I don't want to postpone anything. The minister's still here. But with Phyllis showing up like this and us not knowing how she got here or if she's okay...
Noah: No, mom. I'll go after her.
Nick: No, no, no, no. Look, you stay here. Stay here. Just take care of things. I got her.
Jack: Phyllis, sweetheart, it's Jack. Summer's here, Avery just called for help. Help is on the way.
Avery: We're here, Phyllis. We're all right here.
Jack: That's right. Can you hear me, red? Can you hear me?
Summer: [Voice breaking] Mom. Mom, please. Please, mom, I lost you once. I cannot lose you again. Please...
Avery: It's okay.
Abby: Billy, it's me again. I'm still waiting to hear from you. I don't know why you're blowing me off, but just cut it out, okay? This is important. You need to drop whatever you're doing or... whatever or whoever you're doing, and I'm pretty sure I have a good idea who that is, and get over here. Please, just call me, okay? If Victoria's going into labor, it's too damn soon. [Sighs]
Victoria: I don't know what I would've done if anything happened to you. I know this is a high-risk pregnancy, right? But you know what? What isn't high-risk? Life is high-risk. [Sighs] Love is high-risk. Anything worth having that's good or beautiful... is worth taking a risk for. But you and me, we're gonna go through all of it together, okay? Oh, of course, there's your brothers, Johnny and reed. Ooh, boy. They're gonna tease you, and they're gonna give you a really hard time. But they're gonna love you, and they're gonna look out for you, and they're never gonna let anybody say a bad word against you. 'Cause that's what big brothers are supposed to do. I know that it's not actually... it's not actually gonna be the picture-perfect family. But... we are gonna have a lot of love. I can promise you that.
Nick: Sharon? Wow, it's unbelievable, seeing Phyllis like that. I'm sorry she interrupted our wedding. But I have to ask, why did you run away?
Avery: [Sighs]
Nikki: Avery, are you all right?
Avery: Oh. [Sighs] Right now, I doubt I could answer that. My -- my mind is racing in a million different directions. I'm stunned, and I'm thrilled, and I'm worried sick.
Nikki: Well, you were very calm on the phone with the emergency operator. Dylan would've been very proud of you.
Avery: Thank you. [Sniffles]
Kevin: So, lot of excitement today, huh?
Mariah: Maybe a little too much.
Faith: Are mommy and daddy married?
Kevin: Uh, almost.
Faith: That means no.
Kevin: It could also mean yes or pretty soon or any minute now.
Faith: But they ran away. And now the minister's gone. And the doctor hasn't come for Summer's mom yet.
Mariah: Hey, hey, hey. I know that you are worried and confused, and you have no idea what's going on. Welcome to my world.
Courtney: You should've been here by now. What's your ETA?
Lauren: Where the hell is that ambulance?
Michael: It sounds like Courtney's giving somebody hell.
Jack: Please, Phyllis. Please come back to us. Come on, sweetheart. Open those beautiful eyes.
Summer: Mom? Mom?
Avery: Phyllis.
Jack: I always said you know how to make an entrance.
Summer: [Chuckling, crying]
Jack: [Chuckles] Thank God you're back. Thank God.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Abby: Victoria is in labor.
Mariah: Phyllis knows your secret about Nick. That's why you freaked.
Phyllis: There's something you have to know.
