Episode # 10496 ~ Nick goes the distance to surprise Sharon; Phyllis is thrust back into reality.
Provided By Suzanne
Sharon: Wow. I think we bought the whole store.
Faith: But it all fits in my new backpack.
Sharon: An elephant would fit in your new backpack. And then there'd still be room for you.
Faith: [Chuckles]
Nick: All right, all right. My girls are back.
Faith: Hi, daddy.
Nick: Hey.
Faith: Want to see all the new pencils I got for school?
Nick: Oh, you know what? Later, kiddo. Right now, your mommy and I have to go somewhere.
Sharon: We do?
Nick: Yeah. We do. So put the bags down, and let's get out of here.
Sharon: Uh...well, wait. What about faith? We can't just leave her here by herself.
Noah: Babysitter, present and accounted for.
Sharon: Okay. What's going on?
Nick: Well, let's see. We're gonna need this thing.
Sharon: Are you serious?
Nick: Oh, yeah. I don't mess around when it comes to blindfolds. Just, uh...go with me on it.
Avery: Now that was a challenge.
Dylan: What was?
Avery: I had to go to three stores to find what I was looking for. You know they have cards for congratulations on your new job and on your new house, but they don't have anything quite right for distinguished citizen's award. So I got a blank card.
Dylan: That's a good idea.
Avery: Uh-huh. And I thought we could both sign it and, uh, give him this gift.
Dylan: Uh, what -- what did you get him?
Avery: I got him a gift card from here.
Dylan: [Chuckles]
Avery: Well, I thought that he would really appreciate the opportunity to spend more time with you.
Dylan: [Sighs] I'm sure he will.
Avery: Yeah. So, if I could just have your autograph, please.
Dylan: Actually, I, uh -- I got him something already. Made him something, to be, uh, technical.
Avery: Oh. They're beautiful. What -- what are they?
Dylan: They're, uh, fishing lures. It's the first time I've made any, but I'm sure Paul will like them.
Avery: I think he'll love them. Aww. Anyone ever tell you you are incredibly talented with your hands?
Dylan: Yeah. You. Last night.
Avery: Mm, yes. It's a very thoughtful gift for Paul. You really did go the extra mile on these. Does that mean you're feeling better about your relationship with him?
Dylan: You mean am I ready to go all-in on this father/son thing?
Avery: Well, you did seem more open to it after your talk with Christine.
[Cell phone rings]
Avery: Unless you were lying. Hold on one second. Avery bailey Clark. Yes, your honor. Thank you for calling me back. Mm-hmm.
Lauren: All right. What do you think? These okay? Are they too small? Should they be bigger?
Christine: No, no, no. Considering he didn't want a celebration, I think we should keep it very low-key.
Lauren: Yeah, I guess it'll be jarring enough when he walks in and sees all of his friends.
Christine: Well, how could I not invite everyone who has supported him these past few months? They should share in his ups as well as his downs.
Lauren: Mm-hmm. And you remember to tell him that when he walks in here. [Laughs]
Christine: Oh, he's gonna be okay as soon as the shock wears off.
Lauren: If you say so.
Christine: Well, you'll see. This is gonna be a nice surprise.
Paul: Look, I don't care what the delay is. You get back on the phone with forensics and tell them I need that report A.S.A.P.
Michael: Hey. What's going on?
Paul: Uh, we found blood on Victor and Nikki's driveway.
Michael: You think it's connected with the Ian Ward case?
Paul: In all likelihood. I'm waiting on DNA results.
Michael: Oh. How much longer is that gonna take?
Paul: I don't know. They say they're backlogged.
Michael: Well, I thought you were having dinner with Christine tonight.
Paul: How did you know about that?
Michael: Well, Christine told Lauren by way of bragging about her husband's distinguished citizen's award.
Paul: Oh, God. Well, if I don't get blood analysis soon, I'm gonna have to call Chris and cancel.
Kelly: Hey, Jack. I didn't expect you home so soon.
Jack: Hey. Where are you off to and how do I convince you not to go?
Kelly: I would love to stay, but I am going to meet my mother.
Jack: Your mother?
Kelly: Yes. She is in town, and I'm going to have coffee with her.
Jack: I had no idea your mother was in town.
Kelly: I should have told you, but she showed up out of the blue. I think I'm still in shock, trying to process it myself.
Jack: Well, I'd love to meet your mom. Why don't I go with you?
Kelly: Oh, God, no.
Stitch: Wow. Kelly did you right. This is a lot better than the couch I would have offered you.
Maureen: [Scoffs] Providing me with a nice room is not the same thing as "all is forgiven." You saw the way she treated me.
Stitch: You both were pretty tense.
Maureen: Did you see the way she looked at me? I mean, I was kind of hoping that she'd have softened a little bit, you know, left me maybe the slightest opening. I don't know. I never -- I never could connect with her. Kelly's always been daddy's little girl. She still is, even though he's long gone.
Stitch: Look, I-I know you came to Genoa City because you were worried about me. And, yes, it's been rough having my past exposed and everything, but I'm handling it. There's no reason for you to worry.
Maureen: Trying to get rid of me?
Stitch: I don't want you to feel obligated to stick around, putting yourself in a position to get hurt. That's all.
Maureen: Well, I-I did almost turn around and go home. [Chuckles]
Stitch: So, what stopped you?
Maureen: I-I got some very good advice from a very nice lady.
Victor: Hi, baby.
Nikki: What are you doing here?
Victor: What do you mean what am I doing here? I came to take you to Paul's party. Why aren't you ready?
Nikki: Oh, I don't think we should go.
Victor: What's this about? Why don't you want to go to the party?
Nikki: After the way you treated Paul yesterday, I don't think it's a good idea.
Victor: Sweetheart, if our chief of police did his job finding Ian Ward instead of trampling all over our property, I wouldn't be upset.
Nikki: For heaven's sake, he wasn't trampling all over our property. He was conducting an investigation to catch a man that you want caught just as badly as he does.
Victor: You're damn right I want him caught, okay? As long as that man is at large, you're gonna be in jeopardy. He will not come near you again.
Nikki: I wish that made me feel better.
Victor: [Sighs] What will make you feel better?
Nikki: Maybe if you didn't keep going on all those business trips and stayed home with me, then maybe I wouldn't --
Victor: You wouldn't be afraid? You wouldn't be afraid? [Smooches] Oh, baby.
Nikki: Right. That's right. I-I've needed you.
Victor: There are too many things on my mind. I do too many things. But I will be by your side from now on, okay? Also at Paul's party, and I won't have an argument with him.
Nikki: You might not argue with Paul, but I can't guarantee anything with Christine. That woman uses every opportunity she can to criticize me.
Victor: Oh, for heaven's sake, sweetheart, she's not gonna do that. She's the one who sent you the invitation. I'm sure that she's not gonna criticize you.
Nikki: [Sighs]
Victor: If for only one reason -- not to upset Paul.
Nikki: You are really determined to go to this, aren't you?
Victor: Baby, I think it would be good for us to both get out of here, surrounded by other people, okay? [Smooches] Come here.
Lauren: Here you go.
Christine: Ah. Just what I needed. Thank you. Cheers.
Lauren: So, Michael is probably at the station by now, and he will get Paul here on time. I promise you.
Christine: Well, it won't be easy. Paul's been working so hard lately.
Lauren: How's he feeling?
Christine: Uh, good. His doctor said that he can resume all normal activities.
Lauren: That's wonderful. You must be so relieved.
Christine: Sometimes I feel Paul isn't the only one who got a new lease on life.
Lauren: So, are you two moving ahead on your plans to have a baby?
Christine: Mm, no. Not yet. I mean, even though he's recovered, he's got so much on his plate. I-I don't want to pressure him. What about you and Michael? I-I know how sorry you were when you found out you weren't pregnant.
Lauren: Oh. Well. That's definitely not happening.
Christine: Well, is everything okay with the two of you?
Lauren: Oh, yeah. [Chuckles] Yeah. We're fine.
Michael: Paul, you're kidding me. You're actually gonna cancel dinner plans because you're waiting for a phone call?
Paul: Well, yeah. It could be crucial to the case.
Michael: We have these things called cell phones -- no plugs, no wires. You can actually take them anywhere you go, like to the club to meet your wife who will be terribly upset if you don't show.
Paul: She'll understand.
[Computer pings]
Paul: Report from Forensics.
Michael: What's it say? Wait, are you still gonna make dinner?
Paul: Okay, attention, everyone. I just got a report from forensics on the evidence found in the Newman driveway. The blood is Ian Ward's. It's a 99% match. No cross contamination and no traces of blood from any third party.
Jeffrey: Michael. I was looking for Kevin, but you'll do. Of all the things that could go wrong, I got a parking ticket.
Michael: Shh. Jeffrey, not right now.
Paul: ...Found belonging to Ward in a nearby dumpster. Now, Hendricks and manning, I need to get your units out there canvassing the area right now.
Michael: Wait, Paul. Where are you going?
Paul: I'm gonna do my job.
Michael: Oh -- great. Fine. That went well.
Jeffrey: You think you got problems. Man, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Avery: I assure you it won't be a problem. Very good. Thank you. Bye-bye.
Dylan: Well, if you need to take care of that right now --
Avery: No. I handled it. I would like to finish our conversation about Paul.
Dylan: Uh...well, there's really nothing to say. I-I'm not lying about my feelings.
Avery: Okay, so, this gift and going to his party tonight -- it really is a step towards accepting him as family?
Dylan: I'll put it this way. Uh, I may not be ready to be his son, but that doesn't mean I can't be his friend.
Avery: Okay. Well, you seem more settled about everything and less angry.
Dylan: We better get to dinner.
Avery: No, we have time.
Dylan: Uh, no. We don't. Something very important is about to happen in that room, and I promised I wouldn't be here. Come on.
Avery: Why is it decorated like that?
Dylan: Here. Let's go. Don't worry about it.
Avery: Don't worry about it?
Dylan: Yeah, I'll tell you later.
Sharon: [Chuckles] Where are you taking me?
Nick: Well, I don't have a DeLorean, but we are going to go back...in time.
Sharon: [Gasps] Oh, my God.
Nick: Look familiar?
Sharon: Our college dance freshman year. [Chuckles] But why? What's going on?
Nick: It will all be revealed soon.
Sharon: [Laughs]
Kelly: Jack, I'm so sorry. That came out the wrong way completely. Of course I would love for you to meet my mom. Just...maybe now's not the best time.
Jack: I know you and your mother haven't always gotten along.
Kelly: That's a really nice way of putting it. [Chuckles] Uh, look, as far back as I can remember, I have felt distance from her, like she always wanted to be someplace else. And even when she told me she loved me... it was like she was holding something back. If I didn't have my dad, honestly, I don't know where I would be. And after he was gone, things with my mom got worse. We, uh...really had it out over Ben and what he did. Look, I just don't want you to get stuck in the middle of all of that.
Jack: Listen. I have handled a lot of negotiations over the years, usually to pretty good effect. I may be the best thing that happened between you and your mom. You're not alone. You have someone beside you now. Let me help.
Maureen: She helped me see that I was strong enough to face my demons. So I took a good look at myself, and I had to agree. [Chuckles]
Stitch: Of course you're strong enough, mom. Who's stronger than you?
Maureen: Well, I just need some reminding occasionally, you know? That -- that I can be a supportive mother to my son who's under siege. And so I'm staying, okay? And that is the last word on the topic.
Stitch: Yes, ma'am.
Maureen: Okay, now, our first order of business is this baby situation. You've got to get a DNA test. You do not want to get hit with a paternity suit, particularly if you may not be the father.
Stitch: Look, Victoria's not gonna sue me. That's not who she is.
Maureen: That's -- that's who it is? Victoria?
Stitch: Victoria Newman.
Maureen: Is she -- is she related to Victor and Nikki Newman? Their names are just in all the papers.
Stitch: She's their daughter. [Chuckles] Yeah.
Maureen: And you really care for her, huh?
Stitch: Very much.
Maureen: And she doesn't feel the same, huh?
Victor: There we go.
Nikki: I'll be right there.
Victor: Hi, Lauren. How are you?
Lauren: How are you?
Victor: Nice to see you.
Lauren: Nice to see you. [Smooches]
Christine: Victor, it's lovely to see you.
Lauren: Ah, Nikki. Gorgeous as always.
Nikki: Oh, thank you.
Lauren: And that looks like Fenmore's.
Nikki: Oh, where else would I shop? Of course.
Lauren: Thank goodness.
[Both laugh]
Christine: Hello, Nikki.
Nikki: Hi, Christine. For the man of the hour.
Lauren: Oh, you know what? I'll put it with the others. There we go.
Nikki: Thank you.
Christine: Thank you both so much for coming.
Victor: Well, there isn't anywhere we would rather be.
Nikki: Nope.
Avery: Congratulations Mrs. Outstanding citizen.
Christine: You made it!
Avery: Yes, hi. How are you?
Christine: Hi. I'm so pleased. Paul will be, too.
Nikki: Well, we all are.
Victor: Dylan, I want to thank you for protecting Nikki from Ian Ward.
Dylan: I'm glad I could help. How are you doing?
Nikki: I'm fine. Really. Now that this whole thing with Ian is over, I'm ready to move on. [Chuckles]
Lauren: Good. Because this is a party, and I say we all put our worries on hold the rest of the day.
Victor: I think that's a great idea.
Christine: Great idea. May I get you a drink?
Victor: Oh, that would be nice.
Christine: Okay.
Victor: Thank you.
Christine: Bartender...
Nick: Here you go.
Sharon: Wow. Fancy smoothie.
Nick: Just like we used to drink after class.
Sharon: Mm-hmm. Back when you won me over. Although I was dating somebody else at the time.
Nick: Yeah. Why do you think they call it a smoothie?
Sharon: [Chuckles] Yeah, you were an operator. I just couldn't resist your Newman charm. And no one else could, either. They crowned you king of the Polynesian dance.
Nick: And you were my queen -- moi wahine.
Sharon: And you were Kane.
Nick: Yep.
Sharon: [Chuckles]
Nick: So, to us. Long may we reign.
Sharon: Mm-hmm.
Nick: Yep.
Sharon: Nick, this is really amazing. But... what's going on?
Phyllis: [Muttering indistinctly]
Noah: Hey, thank you for, um, relieving me of my babysitting duties.
Summer: Yeah, no problem. Uh, do you have to leave for work right away?
Noah: No, I think I got a few minutes I can hang out with my two sisters, huh?
Faith: Mariah's our sister, too, now. A real one. Just like us.
Summer: So I heard.
Faith: We have to get her a sister bracelet just like the one you gave me.
Summer: Uh, um --
Noah: Hey, where's your bracelet at?
Faith: It's on my dresser.
Noah: Oh, it is? Well, what are you doing sitting around here for? Go get it. Go.
Faith: Okay.
Noah: Okay.
Faith: Summer?
Summer: Yeah?
Faith: Don't tell Mariah, but you're still my favorite sister.
Summer: Okay.
Noah: What did she say?
Summer: She said, "don't tell Mariah, but you're still my favorite sister."
Nick: So much has happened in our lives. I just thought we should take a few moments to appreciate who we are and what we have.
Sharon: I think because we went through all of that, I can appreciate everything even more. I know what it's like to be lost, to act out for days on end and then wake up in the morning with that pit in my stomach knowing that I hurt the people I love and...afraid that they're not gonna love me back again.
Nick: I fell in love with you in this very room. And there hasn't been a moment since then that I haven't felt the exact same way. I love you, and I always will.
Jeffrey: Never mind that. I need your help.
Michael: I don't care if I'm your de facto son-in-law. I will not pay your parking ticket.
Jeffrey: I didn't say anything about paying. I thought you could, you know, make it disappear.
Michael: Who do I look like, David Copperfield?
Jeffrey: [Chuckles] Come on, Mikey. You've got connections. And besides, I'll give you something in return for it.
Michael: An ulcer?
Jeffrey: [Chuckles] I heard Paul say that Ian ward's car was found near the racetrack. Guess who was also there yesterday.
Michael: Like I need to guess. You're always at the racetrack.
Jeffrey: Uh-huh. And is, uh, Dylan McAvoy?
Michael: He was there?
Jeffrey: I saw him near Royden drive. He looked kind of upset.
Michael: Really?
Jeffrey: Yeah. Must have lost his shirt, poor schnook. Who knew the chief's kid played the ponies.
Dylan: All right. Here's your vodka martini, extra dry.
Avery: Ah, thank you.
Dylan: Club soda.
Nikki: Perfect. Thank you.
Avery: Mmm. Thank you.
Nikki: It's really nice to see you smiling again. I'm very proud of you, you know?
Dylan: Uh, for smiling?
Nikki: [Chuckles] For chasing Ian away, doing what needed to be done, and getting on with your life.
Avery: I'm proud of you, too.
Lauren: You know, I wonder if everything's okay.
Victor: What do you mean?
Lauren: Well, Michael should have called by now to say that Paul was on his way.
Victor: Oh. Well, why don't you call yourself and find out what's happening?
Lauren: I'm almost afraid to.
Victor: Why would you be afraid?
Christine: You know, maybe Paul will want to skip dinner. He's been so wrapped up finding Ian Ward, I --
Victor: Well, to be honest with you, I hope he keeps on being wrapped up in trying to find Ian Ward. He is a bad man.
Christine: And I agree with you. I just don't want him to take any unnecessary risks.
Victor: I wouldn't worry if I were you. He'll be here. He cares for you very much.
Christine: I appreciate that, but he wasn't too excited about my throwing this whole party in the first place.
Victor: Christine, trust me on this. A man will do anything for the family he loves -- anything.
Phyllis: [Babbling]
[Babbling continues]
Noah: You see that? You don't have to worry about faith. The girl's got her priorities straight.
Summer: Of course I'm her favorite sister. She's known me her whole life.
Noah: What is it, exactly, that you're worried about? That the more time she spends with Mariah the closer she's gonna get?
Summer: Mariah is your blood. I'm not. Okay, not only is she related to you and faith, she is Cassie's twin.
Noah: So what?
Summer: So it's like Cassie's come back to life. The -- the little girl that died before her time -- she's back. And I-I can't compete with that.
Noah: Not back, okay? And it's only a competition if you make it one.
Summer: Noah, I'm -- I'm just really confused. It's been over a year since I found out that I'm not nick's biological daughter, and... I love Jack. I love him so much, and I'm handling the situation, but... honestly, I don't know if I'll ever be able to really accept it.
Stitch: Why would you say that about Victoria not being that into me?
Maureen: Well, there's obviously another man in the picture if the child's paternity is in question.
Stitch: Still, she said if the baby is mine, then she still wants me to be a part of his or her life.
Maureen: Yeah, I-I-I can see how that -- how much that would mean to you, given...
Stitch: That Jenna left me and took max with her?
Maureen: Yeah. I-I'm so sorry about that. I-I wish it had been different.
Stitch: I know you do, mom.
[Knock on door]
Maureen: Probably your sister.
Kelly: Hi, mom.
Maureen: Hi. I didn't know you were bringing company.
Kelly: Yeah. Um, may we come in?
Maureen: Of course, of course.
Kelly: Hey, Ben.
Stitch: Kelly.
Jack: Ben.
Kelly: Ma, this is the, uh, man I told you about.
Jack: Jack Abbott. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mrs. Russell.
Maureen: Oh, uh, please, Maureen.
Jack: Maureen it is. Uh, please forgive the intrusion. I kind of strong-armed Kelly into bringing me along. I couldn't wait to meet the mother of the woman I fell in love with.
Maureen: [Chuckles] I was not expecting this.
Jack: Your daughter is a wonderful, wonderful woman.
Maureen: Oh, I agree. Although I'm not sure she believes that.
Jack: Well, now that you're spending some time together, maybe that'll change. Of course, I'd like to get to know you better myself since we're practically family.
Stitch: And our lives definitely seem to syncing up, especially now that I'll be working for Ashley.
Christine: Well, I really apologize. I know it's getting late. I tried Michael...
Lauren: Hey.
Avery: Hey.
Lauren: You and I haven't talked since you and Michael became partners.
Avery: Yes. Well, I think the firm of Baldwin-Clark is gonna be very successful.
Lauren: Yes, I hope so. So, how's it going so far?
Avery: It's going well. It's a much easier transition than I was expecting, and Michael and I have already lightened our caseloads.
Lauren: You have?
Avery: You sound surprised.
Lauren: It's just that, uh, Michael came home very late the other night, and he said it was because of work.
Avery: Oh. Well, that's not unusual. There are always things that can tie us up -- a late-night motion that needs to be filed, a jury returning their verdict at 10:00, or, uh, writing a statement, rewriting a closing. You know, even partnerships can't prevent that.
Lauren: No. I suppose not.
Paul: So, what's going on?
Christine: Well, look who finally made it. [Chuckles] Surprise.
Sharon: We were so innocent back then. Remember? We felt invincible, like nothing bad could ever happen to us.
Nick: If we knew then what we know now, huh?
Sharon: Would you...change anything or doing anything different if you could?
Nick: Absolutely. But there are also a lot of things I wouldn't change for the world.
Sharon: Like what?
Nick: Like...buying this place, going into business with you, starting our lives together.
Sharon: I was so excited when you told me that this place was ours.
Nick: Baby, I just wanted to sit down with you and, uh, have a drink and to make a toast.
Sharon: To what?
Nick: To...this place. To our place.
Sharon: Our place?
Nick: Yes! Our place. Sharon, we got it. Crimson lights belongs to us.
Nick: We had everything going for us. We had just tracked down Cassie. I had finally popped the question.
Sharon: Oh, uh, what question was that?
Nick: Oh, that would be the question that you have been avoiding for the past few months.
Sharon: [Chuckles] Well, you know, it made sense for me to say "yes" to you back then. You were the hottest hottie that ever hottied.
[Both laugh]
Nick: I was pretty irresistible.
Nick: Nothing will ever change the way I feel about you, do you hear me? Nothing. Look, what I'm trying to do... is -- I mean, what I'm trying to say... is that I wanted to ask you...
Sharon: Ask me what?
Nick: To marry me. Will you? Will you marry me, Sharon?
Nick: It made sense for you to marry me back then. And it makes sense now.
Sharon: Are you saying what I think you're saying?
Nick: We've made a lot of memories, good and bad. And now... it's time to make some new ones.
Noah: Well, you probably won't hear a peep out of her for the next couple hours. She just loves that movie.
Summer: Yeah. She loves everything and everyone. [Sighs] I wish I could be more like that.
Noah: [Chuckles]
Summer: I just get a little overprotective when I feel like someone's trying to horn in on my territory.
Noah: Mariah?
Summer: Yeah, and Kelly. I did not take it well when I found out that she moved in with Jack.
Noah: That's -- that's a big statement, you know? He's basically proclaiming to the world that he's given up on your mom.
Summer: I know. That's exactly how I felt about it. But the more that I think about it, I-I don't know. I finally realized that it's wrong for me to expect Jack to give up his whole life waiting for something that may never happen. I like Kelly. Kelly is -- she's nice, and maybe she's good for Jack, you know? He's so happy when he's with her. [Chuckling] So why can't I just accept her? Why can't I just trust?
Noah: Because you've had a lot taken away from you. But look what happened when you opened up your heart to Austin. It's not so bad to let people in.
Summer: Maybe you're right. I think I know where to start.
Stitch: Sorry if I caught you off-guard. I thought Ashley would have told you. She hired me as her new chemist.
Jack: No, my sister neglected to tell me that particular item of news.
Mason: A-are you unsure whether Ben can do the job, because I assure you --
Jack: Oh, no, no, no, no. That won't be necessary. If my sister decided your son is the best candidate for the job, I absolutely agree. Though Jabot will be overseeing that project, which means I'll be overseeing you.
Stitch: I can handle that.
Maureen: Jabot?
Kelly: Uh, Jack's family owns it. It's a clothing and cosmetics company.
Maureen: I-I-I recognize the name. [Chuckles] I have some of the products.
Kelly: Yes, you and half the western world.
Jack: Your daughter exaggerates a bit.
Maureen: Well, she's found a very clever man to be with. She's quite fortunate.
Jack: No, I am the fortunate one... to have Kelly in my life.
Christine: You're not mad at me, are you?
Paul: For making a bigger deal out of this than I wanted?
Christine: I guess that answers my question.
Paul: No, this answers your question. [Smooches]
Christine: Oh, good. [Chuckles]
Paul: Thank you. [Smooches]
Christine: You're welcome.
Paul: So, what did you have to promise these people to get them all to show up?
Lauren: Well, believe it or not, we all wanted to be here.
Victor: We are very proud to be part of this.
Nikki: Yes, very.
Paul: Well, I don't know why you would be. I was their second choice for the award. You know, the reigning miss cheesehead turned it down.
[Laughter]
Dylan: They couldn't have picked a better man to honor. We're just glad you're around to accept it.
Paul: So am I. And, you know, a guy couldn't ask for a better set of friends. Thank you.
Lauren: Oh, well, look who showed up. Where have you been?
Michael: Oh, it's a long story. But I need to steal away the man of the hour for just a moment.
Paul: Oh, what did I do?
Christine: Come back.
Michael: All right. No, just business.
Paul: Yeah, what's going on?
Michael: Well, this isn't about you. It's about Dylan and, um...where he was spotted around the time Ian disappeared.
Kelly: Well, now that you've met my mother, you sure you want to live with me?
Jack: Oh, it seemed like she was trying.
Kelly: Oh, yeah. Trying to make a good impression on you. Hey, those weren't there before. Are these from you?
Jack: Afraid not.
Kelly: That's my name. "Welcome home. Love, Summer."
Jack: Wow.
Kelly: Wow. I wonder what brought about her change of heart.
Jack: I have no idea. But I'm sure glad it happened.
Kelly: Yeah, me, too. I guess you really just never know about some people, huh?
Jack: I'm sure about you. And that's enough for me.
Victor: Sweetheart, would you like a refill?
Nikki: Oh, no. I'm fine. You know, I have to use the powder room for a minute. I'll be right back. [Smooches]
Victor: Okay.
Christine: So, if I could have your attention, we have champagne and sparkling cider. If you'd grab a glass, I'm gonna make a toast.
Paul: Dylan, hold up.
Dylan: I was just gonna grab a drink.
Paul: Yeah, I'm afraid you can't do that.
Dylan: Why not?
Paul: I'm taking you to the station for questioning.
Dylan: Questioning about what?
Paul: The disappearance of Ian Ward.
Nikki: It's good to see you.
Maureen: What a coincidence. I'm Maureen, remember? It's nice to see you, sherry.
Nikki: Um...
Victor: Why did she call you sherry?
Nick: Now, I can't promise you that life is gonna be as sweet as when we were king and queen at our school dance or when we were making those newfangled lattes. We both know there's always trouble around the corner. And the last time it hit, I choked. I bailed. But I can promise you that that is not gonna happen again. Because I love you. You know how they say, in sports, it's not about the name on the back that matters, it's about the name on the front. I think I finally learned what that means. You and I are a team. And, yeah, we might get traded from time to time. But we always end up in the same place again. And that's got to count for something. We were meant to be together. So, what do you say, Sharon? You want to do this? Let's make it real. Let's make it forever. So, Sharon Collins Newman, will you be on my team again?
Sharon: [Chuckles] Yes.
Phyllis: No!
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Lauren: Are you going to realize that we have a problem here?
Victor: You two getting married or what?
Paul: We have an eyewitness that saw you near the track around the same time Ian went missing.
Abby: [Screams]
