Episode # 10485 ~ Nikki reaches the end of her rope; Jill learns Katherine has another surprise in store.

Provided By Suzanne

Jill: "Jill, I want you to have all that I value. Everything I can give you is right in front of you. You just have to look in the right place." [Sniffles]

[Footsteps approaching]

Colin: Hey, sweetheart. Come on. Time to go to Katherine's party.

Jill: [Voice breaking] God, I miss her. I can't believe it's been a year.

Colin: Come on.

Nikki: "I know you're torn about digging into this, but you have nothing to be ashamed of, and you certainly don't have to carry this alone any longer." But I do still feel alone, Katherine.

Victor: Baby, where are you?

Nikki: I'm -- I'm here.

Victor: There you are.

Nikki: Hey.

Victor: How do you feel about today?

Nikki: I'm fine. I'm -- I'm good. I'm ready to celebrate like Katherine wants.

Victor: Glad to hear that, my love, okay?

Avery: Got a minute?

Dylan: Sure.

Avery: We've gone two nights now without talking about what happened at the trial.

Dylan: I got in last night. You were asleep, and when I woke up, you'd already left.

Avery: Okay, we're chalking this up to bad timing? Really? Because I think it's more than that. Look, I understand you're upset with me for helping Austin. Or maybe "upset" isn't a strong enough word.

Dylan: I haven't thought about it much, really.

Avery: What are you writing in your journal? Are we just gonna keep avoiding each other, or are we gonna deal with this?

Lauren: We were on our way to chancellor park for the celebration in Katherine's honor.

Kevin: Oh.

Michael: Yeah, decided to take a little detour, see if you were still around.

Kevin: And here I am. It's your lucky day. I'm sure you're thrilled.

Lauren: Actually, we are. We thought you were very serious about leaving town.

Kevin: I was.

Lauren: What happened?

Kevin: Well, I changed my mind. I'm unpredictable like that.

Michael: I'm not proud of the argument we got into, Kevin. I'm glad you're still here.

Kevin: That's very touching, Michael.

Lauren: So, are you gonna attend the party?

Kevin: Yeah, of course. I wouldn't miss it. Mrs. C. Really believed in me.

Michael: And I don't? Is that it?

Kevin: That's not what I meant or said. What I meant was that Mrs. C. Was always rooting for Chloe and me. If she weren't already gone, knowing that Chloe wanted to divorce me would -- it would kill her.

Michael: You know, I know how much that hurts you. I do. Uh, Lauren and I are both still hoping that you're not thinking of leaving Genoa City.

Kevin: Well, for today, I'm here. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Paul: All right, what do you got?

Courtney: I checked every local hotel, motel. No one's seen Ian or Mariah.

Paul: Yeah, no sightings at the train or bus station or the airport either.

Courtney: Well, couldn't they have ditched their car and gotten a rental?

Paul: Well, we checked all the car agencies, as well. Nothing there.

Courtney: So now what?

Paul: Well, we broaden our search. If he's figured out we're closing in, he could disappear like that with Mariah.

Noah: Mom, God, thank you.

Sharon: Oh, hey.

Noah: I was so worried about you. What happened?

Sharon: Did faith get off to camp?

Noah: Yes, I put her on a bus this morning.

Sharon: Okay, thank God. That is such a big help.

Noah: Look, what is going on? First you kick Mariah out for hitting on dad. Next I hear you're desperately trying to find her.

Sharon: We have to bring Mariah home, Noah. She's family.

Noah: I know that you felt close to her.

Sharon: No, you don't --

Noah: But, mom, after what --

Sharon: You don't understand what I'm saying. Mariah is my daughter. She's your sister.

Nick: I need to talk to you about Mariah.

Nikki: Nicholas, please, not today. It's the anniversary of Katherine's death.

Nick: I know. But something has happened, and you need to hear it.

Victor: If you've come here to accuse me as Sharon did yesterday that I egged on this Mariah girl to seduce you...

Nikki: What? Why do I not know anything about that?

Victor: Never mind, darling.

Nick: Look, I don't care what Mariah's done. She is gone, and I need to find her.

Victor: She's gone? That's a blessing for everyone concerned. That woman should have left town a long time ago.

Nick: Look, dad, this woman that you hired to destroy Sharon -- it's no coincidence that she looks so much like cassie.

Nikki: What are you talking about?

Nick: They're twins, mom. Mariah is Sharon's daughter.

Victor: What are you talking about? How is that possible?

Colin: This is gonna be a difficult day. I mean, regardless of the fact that Katherine has ordained that everybody smile and have happy thoughts.

Jill: I know. It's gonna be even harder because of -- I realize how ungrateful I've been.

Colin: Hmm?

Jill: I was so betrayed by the way she all but left me out of the will. But now I know the truth. I mean, she really did leave me what she valued most. I have this letter. I have this house that I love with all of the memories in it.

Colin: Mm-hmm.

Jill: And I have this, her most treasured piece of jewelry. It's all right. It's all right. No, no, no, no, no. I know it's risky. I'm not gonna let anybody see it. It's just that, you know, today of all days, I need to feel her near me.

[Doorbell rings]

Jill: Oh, let Esther get that. She needs to do something.

Colin: Yeah, I guess it's been a rough year for her, too.

Jill: It's been a remarkable year for us.

Colin: Been a hell of ride. I'm looking forward to the next stop on the journey.

Jill: So am I.

Colin: Mm.

Esther: [Clears throat]

Jill: Oh!

Esther: We have company.

Jill: Oh, Murphy!

Murphy: Jill!

Jill: [Laughs] I'm so glad you stopped by before the party.

Murphy: Oh. Ah, I just wanted to thank you and Esther for putting it all together.

Jill: Oh.

Esther: Oh, it was our pleasure, Murphy.

Colin: Can I, uh, get you a drink, Murph? Maybe coffee, tea?

Murphy: No, no, no, Colin. No, thank you. I'm fine. Oh, congratulations on the marriage, by the way.

Colin: Thank you.

Jill: Thank you. Thank you. I was so glad to hear that you were gonna be here today.

Murphy: Hey, I wouldn't miss it. Expecting a good crowd, I hope.

Jill: Yes, we are.

Murphy: That's what I like to hear.

Michael: In other words, you're still thinking of taking off?

Kevin: You guys, I can't get to Katherine's party until my desk is cleared, so if you don't mind --

Michael: As a matter of fact, I do mind.

Lauren: Honey, let's go, okay? We don't want to make Kevin late.

Kevin: Thank you.

Michael: All right.

Lauren: Honey?

Michael: I'll see you there.

Kevin: See you there.

Lauren: All right. Come on.

Courtney: Okay. So I'll contact the rest of the search team.

Paul: Uh, thanks.

Courtney: Mm-hmm.

Paul: Kevin, I got that warrant I've been waiting on. I need a full search. Cell phone usage, credit cards, bank withdrawals, computer activity, the whole nine yards.

Kevin: Okay. Who are we tracking?

Paul: Ian ward and Mariah Copeland.

Kevin: Mariah?

Paul: You know her?

Kevin: Yeah. Yeah, I was supposed to meet her last night, and she never showed. Why are we tracking her and that creep? Is she in danger?

Paul: Look, we've got no reason to believe that at this moment, but get as much info as you can as quickly as possible.

Kevin: Yeah, yeah, I'm on it.

Sharon: When I was pregnant, we didn't have enough money for me to go to the doctor so I had no idea I was having twins.

Noah: When you went to the hospital -- dad, cassie --

Sharon: It was all just a blur. I -- they had me so doped up, I didn't know what was going on.

Noah: "They"?

Sharon: This doctor and this nurse, uh, Helen Copeland. I don't really remember her, but grace did. Your father found the doctor and got him to admit that he was paid off.

Noah: Who paid him off?

Victor: Ian ward?

Nick: I had the same reaction. For some reason, cassie was given up for adoption, and Helen stole the second child.

Nikki: What would he want with a newborn baby?

Nick: I have no idea what the motivation was or why Helen was chosen to raise Mariah. Mom, there's just so much about this we don't know yet.

Sharon: We'll have to get the rest of the details later once we track down Ian.

Noah: Oh, he's gone now, too?

Sharon: Ian and Mariah left the club late last night. No one has heard from either of them since.

Noah: So...she's my sister?

Sharon: I know that's a lot to absorb.

Noah: Mom, what about you? I'm so sorry.

Nikki: I'm so sorry this happened to Sharon. I know exactly what she's going through.

Victor: That's terrible. But that girl Mariah is not cassie, and I hope you don't intend to embrace her as the prodigal daughter returning.

Nick: But she is Sharon's daughter. She is Noah and faith's sister, and given the way you've treated Sharon, I highly doubt you even care what kind of trouble Mariah could cause for her in the future.

Nikki: Nicholas, your father hasn't interfered between you and Sharon in a long time.

Nick: Well, maybe that's what he told you, but Sharon caught him talking to her psychiatrist, cooking up who knows what.

Nikki: What? What is he talking about?

Victor: Never mind. Let's just say that Sharon jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Nick: I don't believe you, but I don't want to argue about it with you. All I care about is Ian being brought to justice and Mariah being brought home to her mother.

Colin: You're taking the music box to the party?

Jill: Yeah, I've never understood why Katherine gave it to me in the first place. Maybe after today, it'll make some sense, huh?

Colin: But how, exactly? Unless, of course, you're expecting a flaming arrow out of the heavens to lodge itself in your handbag.

Jill: Wouldn't that be just like her?

[Both chuckle]

Esther: We should get to the park.

Colin: [Sighs] Yeah. Um, will you get the front door, please, Esther?

Jill: Okay.

Murphy: Uh, Jill. [Clears throat] I know you've put together this celebration according to Katherine's wishes, but there's something I need to do at the party.

Jill: Something you need to do?

Murphy: Well, let's just say you're not the only one that got an envelope with instructions.

Michael: Look at this.

Lauren: So nice. Really beautiful.

Michael: Oh. Katherine. Things haven't been the same around here without her.

Lauren: Yeah. They sure haven't. But at least she went out the way she lived. You know, she made every moment count. She was vibrant and beautiful and... what?

Michael: You're beautiful.

Lauren: Really?

Michael: You are, without a doubt, the most exquisite, sexy, incredible woman I have ever known. Things between us are gonna be just fine.

Lauren: The way you say that...

Michael: I promised that I would make more time for us, and I'm going to. In fact, I have a very special surprise planned.

Lauren: Really?

Michael: Mm-hmm.

Lauren: Any hints?

Michael: Just this. Come here.

Lauren: Nice.

Michael: Ohh.

[Chuckles]

Dylan: You know, after everything Austin did to you and Paul, he barely got a slap on the wrist, and, yes, a part of me wishes that you and Paul hadn't allowed that to happen.

Avery: But what about the rest of you?

Dylan: I don't want this coming between us.

Avery: Neither do I.

Dylan: I'm always gonna believe that Austin should have gone to prison for what he did, okay? No, listen. You and Paul are the actual victims, and if you're okay with the deal that was made, who am I to argue? And I have to learn to respect your decision.

Avery: You wanted to protect me. I get that. It's who you are.

Dylan: And you got to fight for what you believe in. That's who you are. And even if we don't always agree...I love you. And nothing's ever gonna change that.

Paul: Hello, everyone.

Nikki: Paul, how is the search going?

Paul: Well, Ian ward and Mariah have not used their credit cards, nor have they made any withdrawals on any known accounts.

Nick: What about their phones?

Paul: There's been no cell activity at all since they left the club together and no GPS signal, which tells me that Ian probably turned them off because he didn't want them traced.

Victor: In other words, you came here to tell us exactly nothing.

Paul: Not really, Victor. There was something else that nick should know.

Kevin: Hey, Murphy!

Murphy: Kevin, how are you?

Kevin: Ah, I'm great, phenomenal, awesome. How are you?

Murphy: Oh, well, as I was telling your brother, I'm dividing my time between the cabin that Katherine left me on lake Michigan and my old hometown. You know, hanging out with my buddies, uh, at the diner and the lodge.

Michael: Yeah, that's a good bunch of people.

Murphy: Oh, they sure are.

Michael: Still, it must be difficult -- that first year without someone.

Murphy: Yeah, well, you know, I do miss Katherine, but at the same time, I feel just a lot of gratitude. I mean, how blessed am I to have fallen in love and married again at my age? Yeah, she's given me a whole new life.

Michael: The right woman makes all the difference.

Kevin: [Chuckles] I just wish that I had more time with her. But I guess it's like they say, "all good things must come to an end," right?

Murphy: I would prefer to say, "one chapter ends. Another one begins."

Michael: That's a good philosophy.

Murphy: Yeah, well, it's really great seeing you guys. If you'll excuse me, I have to go over some details with, uh, Esther.

Kevin: Okay.

Michael: Sure.

Kevin: [Sighs]

Michael: Were you talking about Katherine just now... or Chloe?

Kevin: What difference does it make? They're both gone for good. And who knows? Soon, I might be, too.

Michael: That's the attitude that worries me.

Kevin: What, that'd I want to make a fresh start somewhere? Why is that so alarming to you?

Michael: Because wherever you wind up, you're just gonna be taking your unsolved problems with you, but there won't be anyone to lean on.

Kevin: Well, maybe I'm tired of leaning on other people.

Michael: Well, there's no shame in needing people, Kevin.

Kevin: Instead of lecturing me with these useless platitudes, why don't you try thinking about Katherine? After all, it is her day.

Sharon: Oh, thanks, honey.

Noah: Yeah. Are you sure I can't -- I can't fix you a sandwich? Or we could heat up some soup.

Sharon: No, I just think I'd be sick right now if I ate anything.

Nick: I suppose your mom filled you in.

Noah: Yeah. It's -- it's a lot to process. It's gonna take some time before it -- it feels real.

Nick: Yeah, I know the feeling.

Noah: Look, I'm gonna take off and let you guys talk, so, um, just keep me posted. Hopefully, we'll find out some good news soon.

Sharon: Yeah, me, too. Thanks for your support.

Noah: Well, you guys call me if you want me to watch faith or anything.

Nick: Thanks, partner. We will.

Noah: Partner. Been a long time since you called me that.

Nick: See you, bud.

Noah: Bye.

Sharon: So, how did your parents take the news?

Nick: [Sighs] They both reacted exactly the way I thought they would.

Sharon: Victor was his usual sensitive self?

Nick: [Scoffs] Paul stopped by.

Sharon: Any word?

Nick: No. Ian and Mariah have gone completely off the grid. But I did find out that Mariah was supposed to meet up with Kevin last night.

Sharon: Mariah was?

Nick: Yeah, but she never showed up. Maybe she changed her mind after she ran into Ian.

Sharon: Or maybe Mariah did want to meet with Kevin, but Ian wouldn't let her. Maybe he's forcing her to go with him.

Nick: [Sighs] It's a possibility, but don't forget how close Ian and Mariah are. If she did go somewhere with him, it probably wasn't against her will.

Sharon: Even if she's not being forced, I-I just have a terrible feeling that Mariah's in trouble.

Paul: Well, let me assure you -- we're going to do everything we can to get Ian ward incarcerated and Mariah reunited with her mother.

Nikki: How many lives does that bastard have to ruin before he gets what he deserves?

Victor: It's okay, sweetheart.

Nikki: Oh, my God. Dylan. Dylan despises Ian. I-I've got to tell him about this before he finds out some other way.

Victor: What about Katherine's party?

Nikki: I'll -- I'll be back in plenty of time.

Paul: Maybe I should go with you to see Dylan just to keep a lid on that famous temper of his.

Nikki: Yeah. All right. That's a good idea. Thank you.

Paul: And we'll keep you apprised of any developments in the search.

Victor: And there will be some new developments, I assure you. The question is whether you find him first...or whether he'll contact me first.

Paul: You think ward's gonna make contact?

Victor: I'm sure of it. He said he knew something that would affect my family. I thought it was about Dylan's paternity. But now I have a feeling it is about something else.

Nikki: You think he was talking about Mariah?

Victor: Possible. Anyhow, point is, we will hear from him, I assure you.

Ian: [Sighs]

Mariah: A storage unit?

Ian: Yeah, after Victor destroyed my business, I couldn't afford a proper office.

Mariah: So, why are we here?

Ian: Ah, to collect a few things for our journey. Come on in. [Chuckles]

Mariah: [Sighs]

Ian: Oh. Yes. Don't want to let this go to waste. [Chuckles]

Mariah: Thank you for getting me away from Genoa City, from that mess with Sharon. I just wish I-I knew what I was gonna do with my life and where I was going.

Ian: Well, we'll figure that out together. You don't need to worry. You know, change is healthy -- even ought to be celebrated. Here.

[Chuckles] All right. Well, here's to my lovely Mariah and the next phase of her life.

Mariah: I will drink to that. [Chuckles]

Lauren: How you doing?

Jill: I've had a really rough morning. I've been missing Katherine a lot.

Lauren: Yeah.

Jill: But I'm better now, and by God, if that old broad wants a party, we're gonna give her a party.

Lauren: [Chuckles] Well, I'm glad that you're in the spirit of things.

Jill: And what about you, sis? What about that handsome husband of yours? Did that romantic rendezvous spice things up a little?

Lauren: Mm. It sort of fell through. But you know what? Michael has something really special planned for tonight.

Jill: Wait. It fell through? That doesn't sound good. Should I be worried?

Lauren: Not at all. We're fine. We're fine. We're as much in love as ever.

Jill: But?

Lauren: [Sighs] We never used to have to plan special dates or work so hard for intimacy. And, honestly, I didn't even think much of it until yesterday.

Jill: Why? What happened yesterday?

Lauren: Nothing. Literally. Michael got sensitive, and then it got me thinking, and...

Jill: Sis. Remember what Katherine would have said? Don't make something out of nothing, okay? Honey, I have seen the way that man looks at you. Ah, a matter of fact, the way he's looking at you right now. I mean, that is a man who's totally in love with his wife. Don't let your head run away with you. The magic is still there.

Kevin: You know, Mrs. C. Was pretty close to perfect, but she didn't get everything right. I do not have the key to happiness.

Esther: Yeah, who does?

Kevin: [Sighs] What a year, huh? Remember being here last year? Delia made those invitations. Who ever would have thought that, uh...

Esther: You know, I-I like to picture Mrs. C. And Delia together, especially today.

Kevin: Yeah, well, all I see is, like, this big, empty space where they both should be.

Esther: Oh, Kevin, no.

Kevin: I'm sorry, Esther. I don't do that silver-lining thing the way you do. I've lost too many people in my life to ever be whole again.

Esther: You know, I miss Chloe, too, but she did send a sweet text today remembering Mrs. C.

Kevin: Oh, yeah? I got something from her, too, in that envelope you gave me. Divorce papers. Yeah, I took it hard also, but I'm gonna be fine. If this is what's best for Chloe, that's what counts. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm just gonna grab a bottle of champagne.

Avery: So, now that we're speaking again...

Dylan: Mm-hmm.

Avery: ...I have some interesting news to share.

Dylan: Uh, let me guess. You're gonna run for mayor?

Avery: Uh, no.

Dylan: Governor? You'd better do it quick. The elections are coming up quick.

Avery: [Chuckles] I am busy enough already.

Dylan: Listen, I would love to be wrong about this, but you cannot sit still for more than five seconds.

Avery: I can sit still.

Dylan: Yeah, stay right there. [Chuckles]

Paul: Hey, you two. Sorry to interrupt. You got a second?

Nikki: We need to talk to both of you.

Avery: Is something wrong?

Dylan: Is it Ian? What's he done now?

Paul: I don't suppose either one of you have seen him in the last couple of days.

Avery: No.

Dylan: Would one of you please just tell me what's going on? I can see that it's bad. Whatever it is, just say it.

Nikki: All right. The police are looking for him because, as strange as it sounds, we just found out that Mariah is Sharon's daughter.

Dylan: What?

Nikki: Yeah. Sharon had identical twins. Ian stole one of them at birth.

Avery: Oh, my God.

Paul: And now that he and Mariah have disappeared, we have reason to believe that they are together.

Noah: Hey. I'm sorry. I know you're working. I just had to see you. I just found out the most insane news about Mariah.

Courtney: I know. I've been part of the search. I-I would have called you. I just felt like that was something your parents probably should have told you.

Noah: Have you heard anything? Have you found anything?

Courtney: Uh, not yet.

Noah: I can't believe this. I never liked Mariah. I-I never trusted her. I never thought that it was right that she was living with my mom. And it turns that that's exactly where she should have been the entire time.

Sharon: Why would Ian take my child?

Nick: Because he's a sociopath.

Sharon: No, I mean why my baby? I was just a nobody. I was just a scared teenager from -- from Madison, and I had no ties to the Newman family. So why take this baby? And why give her to -- to Helen -- Helen, a woman who didn't even want a child?

Nick: I'm sorry. I wish I had answers for you, but I don't.

Sharon: You know, I would have given her up for adoption. If I'd known I had twins, I would have given her up for adoption just like cassie. But this girl grew up feeling abandoned by her mother, living in a cult. I just wish that she was with a family who wanted her. I wish that Alice would have adopted both the girls, and at least they would have had each other. And then they both would have ended up in our lives eventually, and we would have loved her. That man stole Mariah's future from her, from all of us, and now he's taken her again.

Colin: Lauren. Good to see you again. I'm excited that we're gonna be working together.

Lauren: I'm sure you are. But, you know, this really isn't the place to discuss business.

Colin: I'm anxious to roll my sleeves up and start generating a profit.

Jill: Well, you certainly are brimming with enthusiasm.

Lauren: [Chuckles]

Colin: My dear, this means more to me than you could ever possibly know.

Lauren: That may be, but, you know, like I said before, not the place.

Jill: Well...

Colin: That went well.

Jill: [Chuckles] I'm glad you're so excited about this. You know, we will get the new shop up and running. Never fear. All in good time.

Dylan: I just can't imagine what Sharon's going through.

Avery: How are she and nick handling things?

Nikki: Well, Nicholas seems to be channeling his outrage at finding Mariah. I haven't seen Sharon, but I can only imagine what she's going through -- I mean, thinking of all the years that she lost with her child, not even knowing that Mariah existed.

Dylan: What about you? I mean, every time you turn around, there's Ian attacking your family. Are you holding up okay?

Nikki: You know what? I'm fine. There is nothing he can do to hurt me anymore, so he can throw anything he wants at me. I don't need you worrying about me. Nicholas and Sharon are the ones who need our support right now, so I just pray that the police will find Ian so he gets what's coming to him.

Paul: We'll find him.

Nikki: All right, well, now that you know everything, I have to go. I have to finish getting ready for Katherine's memorial party.

Dylan: You feel up to going?

Nikki: Absolutely. That's what I need most -- to feel close to Katherine right now, so...I'll see you.

Paul: I'll see you.

Dylan: [Exhales deeply]

Noah: I was a preemie. I mean, I was really small, and everybody thought I wasn't gonna make it. So my mom's best friend -- uh, her name was grace -- went out looking for that little girl that my mom gave up for adoption. That was cassie.

Courtney: I know how much you loved your big sister, Noah.

Noah: Cassie was the best. And when she died, it really... tore my family apart. And now for my mom to know that there was another little girl that she never knew, and to have her so close, just to throw her out, and now to not know if she's ever gonna see her again...

Courtney: We're gonna find her. That's a promise.

Victor: I just want you to know that I have my own security team to look for Mariah and Ian, okay?

Sharon: Thank you, Victor. We need all the help we can get.

Nick: It's a nice offer, dad, and we'll take you up on it. You do have resources the police don't have, but this isn't gonna make me forget everything you've done.

Victor: Son, I don't care if it makes you forget anything. The point is, once we find Mariah, we're gonna find Ian, and I'll make that son of a bitch pay. That's all I came to tell you.

Sharon: I really don't care why he's helping. I'm glad we're gonna have more people searching.

[Cell phone rings]

Sharon: Hello?

Ian: Sharon. How are you, my dear?

Sharon: Ian. Where is she? Where is my daughter?

Murphy: Everything looks great, Jill.

Jill: Oh, thank you. I was just following my marching orders, that's all. I don't dare disappoint madam, now that she's connected.

Murphy: Oh, I'm sure Katherine would love to hear you say that.

Jill: Well, I'm sure you felt the same when you were given your instructions from on high. Hey, Murphy. Now that we're here, and the party's under way...

Murphy: Forget it, Jill.

Jill: Oh, come on! Not even a hint?

Murphy: No, I am not gonna tell you a thing that Katherine has planned until the other guests arrive, and then I will let Katherine tell you all herself.

Victor: How did Dylan react?

Nikki: He was very upset, of course...but strangely calm.

Victor: Ah.

Nikki: I'm glad I went to see him in person, though.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: So, um, when you're ready to go to the park, I'm ready.

Victor: Well, I'm afraid that it's gonna be awhile.

Nikki: Why?

Victor: Because I am going to talk to my security team. I want to put them to work on that search, you know.

Nikki: Right. Well, you -- you need to do what you need to do.

Victor: I know you're upset with me, but, you know, I'm doing all this to protect my family.

Nikki: I know.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: I'll meet you there.

Victor: Okay. Come here. I'll see you soon, okay? I'll see you soon.

Nikki: Yep.

[Door opens]

[Door closes]

Nikki: [Inhales deeply] [Exhales deeply] [Sniffles] "My dearest Nikki, I cannot impress upon you enough how important I feel this is for you, especially now. My waning days have given me clarity. I see what truly matters in one's life. This matters. Perhaps nothing matters more." Katherine. [Inhales deeply] My darling Katherine. A year ago, you put me on that...quest to find my son. I'm so glad I did. It was quite a gift at my age to be given another son. But it also brought such unbearable pain to everybody that I know and love. 'Cause when I got Ian in the mix, he's done nothing but torture everybody, Katherine.

[Ice clinks]

Nikki: [Gasps]

Ian: Hello, Nikki. Remember me?

Nikki: Ian.

Dylan: And then he tried to extort money from you, and now he's suing you. What kind of legal system allows this son of a bitch to keep screwing with us?!

[Glass shatters]

Ian: I realize how you feel about what happened between us all those years ago. You know, I still remember every single moment we spent together, the way you looked, the sound of your voice, how you felt. I will hold onto that forever. See you in court.

Nikki: "This baby is nothing but a horrible reminder of its father, and if I keep this child, I will grow to hate it. [Voice breaking] And if he grows up to be anything like his father -- facing that evil every day for the rest of my life -- I can't do it. There's no way I can...keep Ian ward's baby once this child is born. I never want to see it again."

Paul: Your journal was entered into public record at the trial. Anyone would have license to quote it.

Nikki: Well, then you've got to find some other way to get him out of our lives. [Voice breaking] If we don't, I don't know what's gonna happen. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I mean, I've already come so close... [Sniffles] [Exhales deeply] [Coughs, sniffles] [Sighs]

Dylan: I know that you're gonna find Ian and nail him to the wall.

Paul: Well, I'm not gonna sleep until I do. Sharon and her daughter have a lot of years to make up for. And it's not gonna be easy for them to find their way after everything that's been done to them, but I think we can agree it's a chance they deserve.

Ian: You've put together the pieces about Mariah. I thought you might by now.

Nick: You tell us where she is, ward. Now.

Ian: Sharon, it's a shame that you kicked her out of your house. Your own daughter.

Sharon: Don't hurt her. Whatever you do, don't hurt her.

Ian: If you want to see your daughter again, you have to do exactly as I say. Wait for instructions.

Sharon: Let me talk to Mariah. I need to hear for myself that she's okay.

Ian: [Chuckles] Oh, everything's going according to plan. And today, my dear Mariah, is gonna be a special day for the two of us, a day that I've waited for... a long, long time.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Murphy: It's gonna be a hell of a day.

Jill: Yeah, especially when you tell me exactly what we're doing here, Murphy.

Esther: Nina, welcome back!

Nina: Hello, Esther. Thank you. It's good to be here.
