Episode # 10484 ~ Devon & Hilary face an unwelcome future; Cane talks to Colin; Nick clears things up for Sharon.

Provided By Suzanne

Nick: No, Sharon, you cannot throw Mariah out of your life.

Sharon: I hate her. I never want to see her again.

Nick: Don't say that.

Sharon: Give me one good reason why I should ever want to see that girl again.

Nick: Look, there are some things that we didn't know about Mariah -- things that Mariah doesn't even know.

Sharon: Like she's a liar and an opportunist? You warned me, but did I listen? No. I just had to save her. I let her into my home, my family. It was so stupid. I wish that I'd never met her, and I hope that I never see her again.

Nick: No. You do not know what you're saying.

Ian: Mariah?

Mariah: Finally! Where have you been?

Ian: Uh, I-I told you --

Mariah: It doesn't matter. I-I came to say goodbye. I'm so out of this town. [Voice breaking] I cannot wait to leave this place and never...

Ian: Oh, honey. Honey.

Sharon: Nick, we blamed Victor. We blamed Ian. But it turns out that Mariah was no innocent pawn in all of this. She came into our lives. She made me trust her. She made me love her.

Nick: Listen to me. There's a reason for that.

Sharon: Yes, to take advantage of me, of us. What she wanted -- what she wanted all along --

Nick: You don't want to say this.

Sharon: You don't know who Mariah really is!

Nick: She's your daughter. Mariah is your daughter, Sharon.

Cane: You know, sitting here and staring at a drink's becoming a thing for you.

Devon: Well, if you have a problem, you can take it up with the owner.

Cane: [Chuckles]

Devon: Are you headed home?

Cane: Going over to Neil's house. Uh, lily got some food from the kitchen. We're gonna try and have a family dinner under the same roof.

Devon: 'Cause it went great last time.

Cane: Which is why we're gonna try and do it again. Listen, you know, why don't you come, be there for Neil? I know you want to be there for him.

Devon: Neil and Hilary don't need me crowding him.

Cane: Just do me a favor, okay? Don't sit here all night.

Devon: Okay.

Cane: Okay.

Hilary: Hi.

Devon: Hello. Cane just left to meet lily at dad's place -- uh, your place. He said something about a late dinner.

Hilary: Yeah, I know. I'm on my way there now. I just -- I had some work to do.

Devon: Mm.

Hilary: It's a lie. I'm here because... I needed to see you.

Neil: I know exactly where it is. I don't need your help. Give me a chance, and I'll prove to you that I don't need your help. Lily, I'm sorry. I-I keep saying hurtful things to you, and I-I-I don't mean to. I'm overwhelmed right now, as you can tell.

Lily: It's fine. It's fine.

Neil: I should have better manners.

Lily: No, you're always a gentleman. I'm gonna, um, see if the pasta salad's ready, uh, before cane and Hilary get here.

[Knock on door]

Lily: Do you want me to get that?

Neil: No, no, no, no. You -- you stay right where you are. I'll -- I'll get it. Coming! Who is it?

Jack: Jack and Kelly!

Kelly: Hi!

Neil: Ah, Jack.

Jack: There he is -- out of the hospital and back in the bosom of his family.

Neil: Yeah, Jack. Just come in.

Kelly: I hope you don't mind us just dropping by. We wanted to see how you were.

Jack: If you're not up to par, the flowers are for you. Otherwise, they're for your wife.

Neil: No, no, I'm up to par just fine, thanks. So they're gonna be for her.

Jack: Well, great. If you are up to par, I can tell you all about the production meeting. Chelsea gave me some sketches here I want you to see.

Neil: Yeah, Jack, listen, I've got to talk to you about something, okay?

Jack: Too soon? Well, wait till tomorrow morning.

Neil: No, tomorrow -- Jack, tomorrow's not gonna work either.

Jack: Hey, I don't need a big report. I just need --

Neil: Jack, I've been trying to tell you since you blew through my front door. I can't see the sketches, man.

Colin: Time to talk terms.

Kurtz: Plan is simple enough. Meet your new partner in your wife's fancy clothing business. Move the cash through nice and clean.

Colin: Interesting idea. Somehow, it just doesn't quite work for me. So we'll go with mine instead. You will leave my family out of this.

Neil: So, you know, I-I just bought this big, beautiful house for Hilary and me, and it needs a little bit of work, and it's no big deal. So here's the thing -- I'm standing in the house, and -- and all of a sudden, lights go out. And so I make my way over to the electrical box, and stupidly, I-I grab two loose wires and, you know, I put them together, and -- and then it's really lights out, and I wake up, and I'm in the hospital. [Chuckles] You know, I-I can't see anything.

Kelly: That sounds so difficult. I'm so sorry, Neil.

Jack: I cannot believe I didn't know about this. Why didn't somebody call me?

Lily: Well, things just happened really quickly, and we're just taking every moment as they come.

Jack: Well, business is the last thing you need to worry about. Business can wait. Anything you need right now, consider it done.

Neil: Okay. Thanks, Jack. We, uh -- we'll make do for now until we get back to normal. And I'm gonna tell you exactly what I told the rest of the family -- that this loss of my sight is absolutely temporary. I'm gonna get it back soon.

Kelly: Oh, well, that's great. I mean, that's wonderful news. You must be relieved.

Hilary: We didn't get a chance to talk before. You know, when we got Neil settled in.

Devon: There's not really much to say. You made yourself pretty clear.

Hilary: Neil was in the other room, Devon. I-I didn't get to say things that I wanted to say.

Devon: What things? "We're gonna wait, but one day, you and I will be together"? Was any of that gonna come out of your mouth? Are you gonna say it now? So like I said, you made yourself very clear.

Hilary: I pray every night that Neil would get his sight back, and it's not for me. It's for him.

Devon: So do I.

Hilary: What if prayers aren't enough? What if he never sees again?

Devon: I don't know. What do you want me to say to you? Then you live a lie for the rest of your life, and we do holidays and family dinners. But, hey, maybe Neil won't notice that we're in love 'cause he can't see the way I look at you, and he can't see how much I want to be with you.

Hilary: He can't see, Devon, and that's what's important -- not us, not this, whatever this is. Listen, if we just ignore it, maybe it'll go away.

Devon: For a lot of years, I didn't have anything close to a dad. I didn't know tucker existed. And then Neil gave me a life that I couldn't imagine I could even have.

Hilary: He did the same thing to me.

Devon: Everything we said in that bar -- just to be able to say those things to you...

Hilary: I know. It felt so good.

Devon: Now it just feels like we're stabbing Neil in the back with a knife, except I can feel it, too.

Hilary: That's why we got to let this go.

Devon: I hear you. You know, part of me just wants to run as far away as I can to make sure you and I don't do anything, but I can't go anywhere. Neil needs me. He needs both of us here.

Hilary: It was a dream, Devon. And now we're awake.

Devon: God, you're right here in front of me, and I already miss you.

Sharon: I thought of her as my daughter, too. I treated Mariah like family, like Cassie. I so wanted it to be true. I -- letting her live here in our home, letting her get close to faith -- I just wanted my daughter back in my life.

Nick: She's not like your daughter, Sharon. It's not wishful thinking. She is your flesh and blood.

Sharon: Okay, nick, you're not making any sense.

Nick: I didn't trust Mariah so I did some digging because I had to wonder...

Sharon: Wonder what?

Nick: ...Why she looked so much like Cassie, why she resembled her in so many ways.

Sharon: Nick, it's just a strange coincidence, that's all.

Nick: It's not a coincidence. Cassie and Mariah are sisters. Sharon, you had twins.

Sharon: No, nick. No. I don't even know what you're talking about.

Nick: It's true, Sharon. You had twin daughters.

Sharon: I would know that, nick. No, that's not true. I would know.

Nick: Listen to me. Listen to me. Once we found out that Mariah's mother was still alive, I knew in my gut there had to be more to the story.

Sharon: Helen? Her name was Helen.

Nick: Yes, Helen Copeland. And she was an ob nurse.

Sharon: And what -- what? She stole a baby from me that I never had? Why? Just so she could neglect it later? I mean, why would she plan to steal a child she never even wanted?

Nick: She never wanted to be a mother. She never wanted kids of her own.

Sharon: So then why bother to go to the trouble?

Nick: Because she knew someone who did -- someone who wanted a child that couldn't have children of their own. We knew Helen was in Ian's cult, and he had her under his thumb. She did this for Ian ward. She stole the baby for Ian.

Mariah: Poor little Sharon and all of her mental anguish. But she sure knows how to dish out the misery.

Ian: Well, if there was some sort of misunderstanding, we can fix it. Sharon cares about you. You don't want to lose that.

Mariah: You know, they call me a con, but Sharon -- Sharon is the con -- just lies and blowing smoke just like my mother, like Tyler. Helen, Sharon -- they're all the same.

Ian: Listen to me. Sharon opened up her heart to you. It was real, and it was honest. And there's a reason why you fit into that home with nick and Sharon.

Mariah: Nick? Nick? Sharon doesn't deserve him.

Ian: Mariah. You're more than just a resemblance to Sharon's daughter -- so much more. And it's time you know.

Colin: Money laundering using Fenmore's. Do you have any idea of the people involved here? You've got Michael Baldwin, Jill's brother-in-law, a former D.A., A close personal friend of the chief of police. Why don't you try picking his pocket, as well? Trust me -- from experience, it's hard to get money out of someone when they're behind bars.

Kurtz: From inside the office, the storefront -- I don't care how you do it as long as it gets done.

Colin: Instant gratification's a fools game, Kurtz. Why don't we find a less risky, more lucrative endeavor?

Kurtz: How about you don't pay your debt, and I drop you right here, and then I pay Jill a visit?

Colin: How about I return the favor and drop you, too? Now, I don't like the way you use my wife's name. Ah, we're businessmen. Let's not get messy. We're colleagues. Just leave my wife's name out of this.

Kurtz: [Clears throat]

Cane: So, what was all that about? And don't say it was nothing.

Neil: Honestly, I-I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can. I remember, Jack, when you had your spinal injury, how determined you were, and then same thing with Devon when he went deaf. And, you know, the doctor -- he said, uh, there's a slim chance that this is gonna be permanent, but I'm gonna prove him wrong. It's gonna be a matter of days, maybe weeks, before I --

Jack: And you're in no discomfort at all?

Neil: Well, only when a chair jumps out and hits me in the shins, you know?

Kelly: I say you kick that chair right back.

Neil: Yeah, I'll do that. Hey, listen, meanwhile, please do me a favor. Keep me in the loop, uh, with work. I don't want anything to fall through the cracks.

Jack: Absolutely not. You have a great team, Neil. They can all step up for a few weeks.

Kelly: How are things here?

Neil: Things here? Uh, they're great. I mean, I'm being spoiled rotten. My family's wonderful. My kids, my amazing wife. Uh, and I'm sorry she's not here. She should be here any time.

Hilary: How about any second?

Kelly: Oh!

Neil: Ahh. There you are. I actually heard the door open.

Lily: Devon, I'm glad you could make it.

Devon: Yeah, hey.

Neil: Hi, baby.

Devon: How are you?

Kelly: Nice to see you.

Devon: You, too.

Neil: Hey, Devon. Give me some love.

Devon: How you doing?

Neil: Good, good.

Devon: Heard there was some free food. I couldn't stay away.

Lily: Oh, that's how billionaires keep their billions, huh?

Devon: It smells good in here, too.

Jack: Hey, buddy.

Devon: How are you, Jack?

Neil: So, I take it you two came -- came together, right?

Hilary: Yeah, I was at the club.

Neil: Oh.

Devon: Lily texted and said we were needed, so, uh, I offered to give Hilary a ride.

Neil: Thank you. You're a good son. I appreciate you bringing my wife back home to me. Mm.

Cane: That take-no-prisoners look you gave that guy when he walked off -- I know that look 'cause I've been on the receiving end of it more than once myself.

Colin: I'm a kinder, gentler man these days. Besides, I'm simply here overseeing Katherine's remembrance ceremony. I mean, it's important to Jill, so it's got to be important to me.

Cane: Who was he?

Colin: Oh, him? That's the -- Chester, the park-rec.

Cane: Oh, that's Chester the park-rec?

Colin: Mm-hmm.

Cane: And he just decided to come and visit you at night?

Colin: Well, given everything that Katherine did for this city --

Cane: Cut the crap, all right? I know the look you have when you put out a hit. I know the look you have when you know your luck has run out.

Colin: This isn't oz. I don't do that --

Cane: I should be with my family right now and my wife, but I'm not. I'm here. I'm with you. And I'm not gonna do it again, dad. Do you understand that? I let you back in my life. I let you in my home with my kids. I'm telling you this --

Colin: Ethan, enough. This is your father, all right? Look at me. I-I'm in one piece. You go home. Be with Neil. Be with your wife. I've got Jill. I've got my freedom. I haven't got a problem in the world.

Hilary: Time to eat. The table is ready. And, Neil, you'll be in your regular seat.

Neil: The same seat I always sit in, honey, thanks.

Devon: You need help serving, lily?

Lily: No, I got pasta salad since it's so hot out.

Devon: Everything that we have at the club, and that's what you picked? Why didn't you get lobster or something? You manage the place.

Neil: Hey, Jack, Kelly, why don't you, uh, join us? Sit down.

Jack: Are you sure?

Neil: Of course I'm sure, or I wouldn't offer. There's plenty of room at the table. Come on.

Lily: Yeah, the twins are with the sitter, so...

Kelly: Well, that's a good thing. Otherwise, we'd be sitting in booster seats.

Jack: You know what? We accept.

Lily: I also got, uh, pesto pasta, dad.

Jack: Say that three times real fast.

Lily: [Chuckles]

Neil: Hey, I usually have to fight cane for the leftovers. Tonight I'm gonna need some competition. Hi, honey.

Kelly: Oh, well, you can...

Jack: Well, yeah, I mean, I like my pasta. I'll give you a round or two.

Neil: Oh, yeah? I bet you will. Uh, let me tell you about the renovations that I have for my new house.

Kelly: Ooh, I can't wait to hear. I love those home-rehab shows.

Lily: You're not keeping the house, are you?

Neil: Of course I am. I'm not gonna live in that house in that condition. Why would I do that?

Lily: Well, then sell it 'cause it's the reason why you're like this.

Neil: Lily, would you stop it? I'm not gonna sell the house because a few sparks flew out of a box.

Hilary: Okay, why don't we just talk about this later?

Neil: That's a good idea.

Hilary: When we're alone.

Neil: That's good.

Hilary: Right?

Neil: Yeah.

Hilary: Um, here. Let me get some of this on your plate for you.

Neil: No. Here, just give me the spoon.

Devon: Yeah.

Hilary: [Sighs] Okay.

Neil: Thank you. So, let me tell you about this house, okay? With the right contractor, the right vision, this house is gonna be the gem of the north shore. I'm telling you -- the second that I saw this house, I knew that it was --

[Bowl clatters]

Lily: It's okay. It's all right, dad.

Jack: Use this.

Lily: Thank you. Here.

Kelly: Is everybody okay?

Devon: You couldn't serve this up in the kitchen, lily?

Lily: Really? Are you kidding? Maybe you could have helped me instead of sitting here sulking --

Hilary: Stop! Everybody, stop.

Ian: You are much more than just a resemblance to Sharon's daughter. You are...smart, clever, fiery, and you're loyal. And Sharon saw all that in you.

Mariah: No. No, she pretended like she saw it. Nick was the one who actually saw it. And he made it clear that he didn't look at me like a daughter.

Ian: Oh, Mariah. What did you do?

Mariah: I-I gave nick the opening he -- he clearly wanted. I met him halfway...in lingerie.

Ian: Oh. And how did he react?

Mariah: He didn't. Sharon came in before he did and totally flipped out.

Ian: Mariah, I warned you about acting on feelings like this. You put everything at risk.

Mariah: What everything? I stalked the woman, then she gave me a job, a bed, and a bowl of ice cream. She is a freak, and, apparently, she has some secret that can destroy nick.

Ian: All I care about is you, and you deserve love, fulfillment. But you have to be mindful, aware, present.

Mariah: I was present. I was a damn present wrapped up for nick...

Ian: [Sighs]

Mariah: ...Not Sharon. I tried to tell her that the outfit was for somebody else, but she blew up and then threw me out -- not before she said every nasty thing she could think of.

Ian: Then did you lash out at her? Or did you do the things I taught you?

Mariah: I wasn't gonna take it -- not from her. God, I-I hate her. I just -- I-I just hate that woman. But it's over. It's over, and I can leave this place and forget that I knew anyone in this town.

Ian: Oh, Mariah, I've known you from the time you were a little baby to now, a young, beautiful woman, and I believe that our path has led to this very moment. Things can still work out the way they're supposed to.

Sharon: Ian?

Nick: Yeah. Grace helped me piece it all together.

Sharon: You talked to grace?

Nick: She remembered the nurse that day. It was Helen, and she remembered how Helen wouldn't let grace or Doris back in the room to see you.

Sharon: Another baby -- there's -- there couldn't have been, nick. I would have known. I would have felt it.

Nick: You were young and terrified, and they had drugged you up.

Sharon: No, you weren't there. You don't know.

Nick: Well, I talked to Dr. Hill, and he is the man who delivered Cassie...and Mariah. Sharon, he confessed to the whole thing.

Sharon: I never even knew if it was a boy or a girl. They never let me hold my baby. And then I remember screaming, and the nurse came in and gave me a shot. I just wanted to see her. I just wanted to see my baby. I remember the sedative set in, and after that... nothing.

Nick: Helen realized that there was -- there was another baby -- one you didn't know about, one you'd never know about.

Sharon: It's true...isn't it? Mariah -- she has Cassie's face because she's Cassie's twin.

Sharon: How could I bring another life, another soul, into this world and not -- not feel it, not know it?

Nick: Sweetheart, you were a kid yourself. They drugged you. They manipulated you.

Sharon: No, no, I-I was carrying two babies. I-I should have felt that in my heart, in my mind. My child was out there in the world...with people who didn't love her. Mariah needed me.

Nick: You didn't know. You couldn't have known. This is not your fault.

Sharon: I abandoned her, and then I did it again today. My daughter, my baby. I told Mariah I wished I'd never met her. I told my daughter that I never wanted to see her again.

Mariah: I can't wait to leave Genoa City.

Ian: Yeah, but nick and Sharon took you in, gave you a job.

Mariah: Because I have a dead girl's face.

Ian: No, no, no. They could have wanted you gone after your little arrangement with Victor, but they accepted you. And I'd say that Sharon even loves you...for you, for who you are -- your spark, your humor, and that cynicism that covers a deep and complex heart.

Mariah: That's what you see, not them.

Ian: Maybe. Maybe it is. Maybe it's because I've known you since the day you were born. I watched you flourish, Mariah. There are wonders in you -- endless wonders. And I-I believe, and I have faith that the world can and will see you as I see you.

Mariah: [Sighs] You say it, and I almost believe it's true.

Ian: Oh, it is, honey. I know it is. You know, the first time I held you in my arms when you were a little baby, I sensed then the many ways that you would change my life -- I would see the world through your young and bright eyes -- your joy and my wisdom. Weren't we always a great team?

Mariah: Yeah.

Ian: Hmm?

Mariah: [Voice breaking] You have always been the only person I can trust.

Ian: Oh.

Hilary: Lily has been very thoughtful and generous. And we've all been through a lot already, so let's just cut each other some slack.

Jack: All we lost here was some food. I'm sure there's more where that came from.

Kelly: Yeah, you know, I can run to the club.

Lily: No, I'll do it. I'm gonna find out what's keeping cane.

Kelly: Do you want some company?

Lily: Yeah, thanks.

Kelly: Okay.

Neil: I think I'm gonna go check out the kitchen for a minute. I heard a rumor that there's, uh, some food in the freezer.

Hilary: Yeah, there is, but we're gonna have dinner up and ready in no time.

Devon: Come on, dad. Let's go, uh, get hit defrost on some.

Neil: Yeah.

Kelly: I think this family just needs a little time to de-stress.

Jack: You go with lily. I'll find you later. Hey.

Lily: Ready for me and my fabulous mood?

Kelly: Come on. You just need a little 10 minutes. Take a walk. Big breath. You'll be fine.

Jack: It gets complicated. I saw you with Neil...and Devon. You get dropped into this family dynamic, and then this happens. It's not easy. I just wish you could have called me... to tell me about Neil.

Hilary: Yeah, it just -- there's nothing that anybody can do.

Jack: And I'm sure Neil didn't want to tell the whole world about his blindness.

Hilary: He could see tomorrow, but until he does, we just...

Jack: It will feel like an eternity. I know that. Somebody once told me I'd never walk again.

Hilary: God, you must have been terrified.

Jack: I was. So was everybody else around me. I didn't make it easy for them, either. Look, what just happened is gonna happen again. Neil -- well, what you just saw was his frustration and his fear talking. Don't take it personally. He loves you. And he's lucky to have you in his life.

Hilary: I am the lucky one.

Jack: Neil, I'm gonna get out of your hair here. Listen, why don't you stop inking about business altogether and talk with your wife about your dream home?

Neil: I appreciate you coming. I'm just sorry you had to find out in this way.

Jack: Neil, you've faced other hills. You've faced other demons. I'm not worried about you. You're gonna find your way through this, too. Just know -- anything you need, day or night, you call me.

Neil: Jack, you're absolutely right. I've got this. This is short-term, baby, you know? Strange. From every negative comes a positive. I can almost see without looking.

Jack: Well, that's a pretty clever parlor trick.

Neil: Oh, yeah, man. It's amazing how my other senses have begun to compensate. You know, I'm hearing little things in people's voices that I've never heard before, that I never noticed before, and between words and the quiet, I can hear what people are thinking. You know?

Sharon: I failed her since the moment she was born. Mariah was raised by a predator and some woman who didn't love her, and then when I finally had her close, I threw her out.

Nick: The last thing I remember was you were sitting on the couch eating ice cream together.

Sharon: She was going to seduce you, nick. I found her here in lingerie waiting for you, only I showed up instead.

Nick: What are you talking about? Maybe you misunderstood.

Sharon: No, she admitted it. She thought that the two of you had some kind of chemistry, a connection.

Nick: With someone who looks like my daughter?

Sharon: She hates that she looks so much like Cassie, and you always made it clear that you thought the two of them weren't alike at all.

Nick: Yeah, I've been a lot nicer to her at work. I was trying not to chase her off until I could learn more about her past.

Sharon: I found her here in my home like that, in lingerie. In my home. I was -- I was so devastated and betrayed. But you know what? Of course she does that. Of course she acts out like that and makes those choices. She was abandoned and unloved. And then I-I did it to her again today. I told my daughter to get out and never to come back. Nick, we have got to find her.

Nick: Yeah. I know the first place to look.

Cane: I went to bat for you with Victor Newman. I could have told him that you were behind the Bonaventure deal, and I didn't. Instead, I saved your ass.

Colin: Trust me, my ass is very grateful, and I shall take that with me when I, uh, plan Katherine's event.

Cane: Hey. You do remember what you said to me the last time I covered for you, right? You told me you wouldn't make me regret it.

Colin: Have you? Come on. I'm a changed man. Mattie and Charlie -- when I'm around both of them, it's like a blinding flash of sunlight. I got to reach for shades. [Chuckles] And Jill -- woman who you once called mother, that infuriating pain in my neck -- got to be the best thing that ever happened to me. And I'm gonna jeopardize all of that for a tussle with a bunch of lowlifes?

Cane: Oh, I know you like your new life. I also like my life, and whether I like it or not, you are now part of my life. You're part of my kids' life. So if you have something going down, you need to tell me, and I will help you. But you need to tell me now.

Jack: Hey, I know Kelly and I had a pretty big reaction to hearing your news. I know what that feels like, and last thing in the world I want to do is set you back.

Neil: Come on. My old friend Jack. I'm fine.

Jack: Okay.

Neil: Honestly.

Jack: Keep me posted, huh?

Neil: Yeah. Yeah, I sure will. Will do.

Jack: Hilary, Devon, good night.

Devon: Have a good night, Jack.

Neil: Okay, so, what's cooking with you two, huh? [Chuckles]

Hilary: [Chuckles]

[Cell phone rings]

Devon: Hey, Jill. How you doing? Yeah, I know. It's just a real tricky time right now. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. I'll let you know. Okay.

Neil: Devon.

Devon: Yeah?

Neil: Is that about Katherine's remembrance ceremony?

Devon: Yes, it was, but I don't have to go. We can stay in and catch a game. We can watch one -- or listen to a game.

Neil: No, no, we're not gonna do that, son. This should take precedence. You're gonna go to Katherine's remembrance. So am I.

Kelly: You know I'm here for you, okay? This thing with Neil cannot be easy.

Lily: No, I think that you saw firsthand how not easy it is, but I'm really sorry about that. That was brutal for everyone.

Kelly: I didn't see a family having a meltdown. What I saw was a family just kind of muddling through. Nobody walked out the door or turned their back on the other person. I mean, that's a big deal.

Lily: I don't know. My dad's already gone off on me. He went off on Devon. And then I get snarky with Hilary, but yet she sticks up for me. I mean, that should show you how bad things have gotten.

Kelly: Maybe you all just need to give each other a little credit.

Lily: Maybe. But I wouldn't count on it. Um, anyway, I'm gonna get the food, so you find Jack.

Kelly: You know what? I can stay if you want.

Lily: No, no. This was good. Thank you.

Kelly: You sure?

Lily: Yeah.

Kelly: You can talk to me anytime. You know that, okay? Right? All right.

Lily: Yes.

Kelly: Call me.

Sharon: Lily. I'm so glad we caught you.

Nick: We need your help.

Kelly: Mrs. Martinez stocks a mean fridge.

Jack: Well, it's not -- not pesto pasta.

Kelly: Mmm! It's home, and it's heaven.

Jack: Did you just call this "home"?

Kelly: I did, didn't I?

Jack: Yeah. Our first night home together.

Kelly: It is.

Jack: Not exactly the evening I had planned.

Kelly: Oh, please. I don't need bells and whistles. I have you...and mango. [Chuckles] We're so very lucky.

Jack: We are so lucky.

Kelly: [Sighs] Neil seems like he's trying to make the best of it.

Jack: Yeah, I guess. I heard him talking. I remembered the things I said in my own hospital bed. "I want another doctor. I want another opinion. This is temporary. This isn't gonna last." And then once the denial comes to an abrupt end, I fell into an emotional sinkhole.

Kelly: Neil doesn't know whether or not he's gonna see again, so is it really denial for him to have hope and carry on?

Jack: Hope's essential. Life is gonna throw you things you can never prepare for. Eventually, you have to accept that you can't control everything. And then you just put the pieces back together any way you can.

Devon: Dad, you just got out of the hospital. Nobody expects you to be there.

Neil: Okay, listen to me closely. I'm on my own two feet. I'm perfectly healthy. Even if I weren't, I'm not gonna miss out on honoring Katherine.

Devon: Of course not, but --

Neil: But what? I owe her the respect of showing up with my wife and, hopefully, my son.

Devon: Yes, but, dad --

Neil: But what? What is -- what is the problem?

Devon: There's not a problem. We have just been keeping the news about your accident within the family. I wasn't sure how you wanted to go about telling everybody. I mean, if you're set on going, if you really want to go, I'll call Jill. I'll let her know what happened. You don't have to worry about answering a bunch of questions.

Colin: Trust me. Don't worry. Everything's right with my world.

Cane: I want you to know that it doesn't have to be this way. And if it is, it's because this is the way that you wanted. Don't forget that.

Kurtz: What -- you don't want junior to know you're in deep to me?

Colin: Maybe I didn't make myself clear when I said my wife and family were not part of this.

Kurtz: You know, it's funny. You married the broad for her bank account, and now you want to be Mr. Chivalry.

Colin: My wife's boutique -- that's her business. Now, this -- well, this is our little issue.

Kurtz: The money is due now, which means things get ugly fast unless you have a big wad of cash in your back pocket.

Colin: Maybe it's in my other wallet.

Kurtz: Then you might want to reconsider bringing me into the family business before chivalry is really, truly dead.

Nick: We're gonna find her.

Sharon: Now. It needs to be now.

Lily: Hi. Uh, I'm sorry, but according to the registry, Ian ward checked out.

Nick: When? Today?

Lily: An hour ago, actually. I guess the housekeeper said that he left with some young woman.

Sharon: Ian's gone, and he took Mariah with him.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Avery: Are we just gonna keep avoiding each other, or are we gonna deal with this?

Kevin: Who are we tracking?

Paul: Ian ward and Mariah Copeland.

Kevin: Mariah?

Nick: They're twins, mom. Mariah is Sharon's daughter.
