Episode # 10473 ~ Jack tells his family that he's ready to bid farewell to Phyllis; Nikki crashes Christine & Paul's honeymoon.
Provided By Suzanne
[Avery watches as Dylan throws stuff around]
[Clatter]
Paul: You should have seen the look on your little face. You were so scared. "Aah!"
Christine: I know. Stop it. You know what?
Paul: That was a big stink bug.
Christine: We should have gone to the beach.
Paul: It was the size of a small Chihuahua.
Christine: [Laughs]
Paul: The beach? Like the beach is any safer? They have sharks, you know. [Chomping]
Christine: You are such a smart aleck. But I do have to say... [Sighs] It's so great to see you laugh again, and it was such a good idea to get you away.
Paul: I agree.
Christine: The rest of the world can definitely carry on without you for a while. [Chuckles]
Bartender: Here's your vodka martini.
Nikki: Thank you.
Billy: I don't see why I had to wear a suit for this. It's just the family.
Jack: Well, obviously Ashley felt her announcement was big enough to merit your sartorial best.
Abby: Hi, guys!
Traci: Sorry, we're late.
Jack: That's all right. Ashley isn't here yet.
Traci: Oh, that's weird. Didn't her plane land like an hour ago?
[Telephone rings]
Billy: Maybe they ran into some weather.
Jack: Hold on. Jack Abbott. We were just talking about that.
Abby: Any idea why Mom wanted all the major shareholders here?
Billy: No clue. Ashley's being all mysterious about it.
Jack: Thank you for letting us know. Well, we have the answer to one of the mysteries. Ashley isn't here because she wasn't on the plane.
Traci: What? She wasn't on the plane?
Abby: What happened?
Cane: Okay, so I'm thinking we might want to extend the rooftop-deck hours, uh, for a daylight savings time. Here. You forgot to sign this one. You know, 'cause when the weather turns, we'll bring in some heaters and we'll push the hot drinks. Hey. Hey, hey. I know it's not that interesting, but, you know, you got to kind of pay attention.
Devon: Yeah, I'm sorry.
Cane: That's all right. Listen, you're busy, all right? You got something on your mind. We'll talk about this later.
Hilary: I don't understand.
Devon: There's an address on here to a bar that I go to. It's a little bit outside of town.
Hilary: And you want a drink?
Devon: I want you. And if you want me, too, you will meet me here this afternoon.
Hilary: If I don't?
Devon: Then I am gonna leave town.
Neil: So it looks like we got some good news. We're gonna launch the new line in Tahiti this winter. Baby, I really want you to come with me. I'm gonna talk to Jack about that, okay? You ever been?
Hilary: Been where?
Neil: Your mind is far away, just like Tahiti.
Hilary: [Chuckles]
Neil: You haven't heard a word I said. I know you're hungry. Let me check on the food, see if it's coming now, okay?
Devon: Are there any other purchase orders for me to sign?
Cane: No, that does it. So you are now free to go wherever you would rather be.
Neil: Hey. Food will be here any minute.
Hilary: Good. Thanks.
Neil: Okay, so back to what we were talking about. You think there's any chance that Jack would let you have some time off in January? Because I want to combine my business in Tahiti with our honeymoon.
Hilary: Oh, um... I'll have to ask him. But January -- that's a pretty busy month for Jabot.
Neil: Okay. There's a few things that we're gonna have to take care of before January.
Hilary: Things? Um, what other things?
Neil: I can't tell you everything. What's life without a few surprises?
Stitch: Whoo! That is a nasty cut. Look, I don't think there are any broken bones, but just make sure you get it X-rayed in case I missed a hairline fracture.
Kid: You really a doctor?
Stitch: No, I just play one on TV, man.
Kid: [Chuckles] Thanks for helping me, dude.
Stitch: All right. Be safe out there. And by the way, that was a sick grind off that bench, man. See you, man. So, you gonna report me to the hospital for practicing medicine after being suspended?
Chelsea: I'm sorry, stitch.
Stitch: Oh, I bet you are.
Billy: What was she thinking? She calls us all here and then decides to stay in New York?
Jack: Ashley apologized for the inconvenience but said she needed to work more on her project before she unveiled it.
Abby: Great. Now I'm really dying of curiosity.
Billy: Well, this has been fun, kids, but I'm out of here.
Traci: Oh, not so fast, buster.
Billy: Did I forget something?
Traci: Yes, you did. Your family. Come on. With all of our schedules, we never get a chance to spend time together.
Jack: And the last time, we had so much fun with that free-for-all about stitch.
Billy: Could you not mention his name?
Abby: Let's make this about us, a real support session.
Traci: You know, the Abbotts can always come through for each other when we put our mind to it.
Abby: Seriously, I don't know where I would be if you guys weren't here to help me deal with my mess of a love life.
Traci: Oh, honey, you're not the only one whose love life is a mess.
Abby: [Chuckles]
Billy: Tell me about it.
Abby: You got to give us Abbotts credit, though. When we get knocked down, we come back even stronger.
Traci: Absolutely. You know, when we lost our men, what did we do?
Abby: We got manicures.
[Laughter]
Abby: And Uncle Billy might not be back together with Victoria yet, but you did kick your competition to the curb.
Billy: And big bro here figured out that if you can't be with the one you love, you might as well enjoy the one you're with.
Jack: Actually, I'm doing more than enjoying Kelly. I'm in love with Kelly.
Billy: Whoa. Um... love?
Abby: What about Phyllis?
Jack: I've struggled with this for a long while. I talked myself into it and talked myself out of it. Eventually I realized I only have one choice. It's time I let go.
Hilary: Neil, about this surprise of yours...
Neil: Oh, yeah. No. Don't worry about that. I-I heard you when you asked me not to go overboard.
Hilary: No, you shouldn't be getting me anything at all.
Neil: Honey, I know you've been disappointed by a lot of people in your life, and I'm gonna do my damndest to help turn that around. You have got to learn how to accept someone's generosity, especially me. Whatever I give you in life, I'm not gonna take it away from you. It will always be there. I will always be there.
Hilary: You are such a good man.
Neil: Makes me happy to see you happy and to give you things you've never had.
Hilary: You're so wonderful.
Neil: I think I can fly, too. [Chuckles] All right, now listen. Uh, why don't you go on to work? I got a surprise to plan.
Hilary: You trying to get rid of me?
Neil: Never, ever, ever. I love you way too much, baby.
Hilary: I love you, too.
Neil: Bye.
Hilary: Bye.
Neil: Well... look who it is.
Cane: Hey.
Neil: Hey. Glad to see you. You know, I'm just about to head over to my new house, the one I essentially bought for Hilary. And wondering if you might like to come with me.
Cane: Well, you know, I'm not really that busy right now, so I can make time, but see, I don't understand why you're asking me 'cause you know I'm not particularly in favor of this, uh, this move.
Neil: Oh, yeah, yeah. I know you're not. But, um, I need -- I need some advice about the renovations. And looking at what you did here, I like it. You're good at renovations. So, what do you say?
Cane: You know what, Neil? At this point, I could probably have my own home-improvement show.
Neil: Yeah. So, you want to come by?
Cane: You know I don't think this is the best idea, okay, but if you are determined to go through with it, let's do it right.
Neil: This house is perfect for Hilary and me. It's what she wants. It's what we both want.
Bartender: Your drink okay?
Devon: Yeah, it's fine.
Bartender: Let me know if I can get you anything else.
Devon: Okay. I'm just waiting for someone else to show up, so...
Bartender: Okay. Seems like my customers are boycotting my drinks today.
Nikki: Oh, it's -- it's not you. I'm sure it tastes wonderful.
You look awfully familiar.
Nikki: I just have one of those faces. Hi. It -- it's me again. I-I know you're busy with all kinds of meetings and things, but, um, when you get this message, could you please call me? I'd really appreciate it. I love you. Hey. It's Nikki. Um, I am so sorry to bother you on your vacation, but, um, there's something that you have to hear, and -- and you can't wait, Paul. Please get back to me -- you know what? Never mind. I have a better idea.
Paul: Here. Try it over here. Right here. Look, cloud, cloud. There you go.
Christine: [Gasps] Well, aren't you the genius.
Paul: Yes. I'm very good at solving puzzles, especially the detective kind. Remember that case I had with the woman and her husband --
Christine: Hey, hey, hey. We weren't gonna talk about work, remember?
Paul: Oh. Okay. You know, if you...really want me to relax, I think I would be a lot more relaxed if I knew what was going on back home.
Christine: [Sighs] I can't help you there.
Paul: Well, you can start by telling me where my cell phone is that you hid.
Christine: [Chuckles] What makes you think I hid it?
Paul: Because it's not in my pocket.
Christine: Well, maybe you lost it or it -- poof! -- Disintegrated.
Paul: It didn't disintegrate. Come on, sticky fingers. Give me my phone back.
Christine: You're not gonna find it on me. But you are more than welcome to continue searching.
Paul: Oh, really?
Christine: Yeah.
Paul: Well, that's good. But seriously...
Christine: Mm-hmm.
Paul: What if something were to happen in the big city of Genoa City where they need the police chief and they need to t ahold of me in case of an emergency?
Christine: I understand, but I'm gonna be honest with you. I have been checking in, and if a situation comes up that only you can handle, I'll tell you about it.
Paul: Oh.
Christine: Satisfied?
Paul: No.
Christine: Paul, really, you have to be. I'm serious, okay? I'm not gonna let you risk your health worrying about the latest news --
Paul: I'm already worried!
Christine: Stop. Come on. It was enough of a contention for me to tell you about Ian ward's lawsuit being dismissed.
Paul: [Sighs] Yeah. [Sniffs] I wonder how Dylan's doing, I mean, with the fallout of the trial.
Christine: God, have you not listened to a word I've said? You don't have to worry about Dylan.
Paul: Chris, come on. How can I not? He's my --
Christine: Yeah, I-I know. Look, Paul, you were denied your son, and now you want to be a father to him. But none of those good intentions will matter if you're not around to carry them out. He's lost his father once. He's not gonna lose another, and I am not gonna lose my husband.
Paul: Hey, what are we talking for when we have a puzzle to solve? Look. 1,500 pieces that don't know where to go.
Christine: And you know what? I'm thinking I might have a better idea. Why don't we go down to the lake and catch our own dinner? [Chuckles]
Paul: [Chuckles] Seriously? You want to fish?
Christine: Yes. Why not?
Paul: Oh, you're crazy. Because I'll tell you why you don't want to fish. Because it's stinky and smelly. That's why.
Christine: Bring that on. I can do it.
Paul: This I got to see.
Christine: Okay.
Paul: Come on.
Christine: You watch.
Paul: I'll get the poles.
Christine: Okay.
Paul: And the tackle.
Christine: Get it. Let's go.
Paul: And we will -- we will go fishing!
Christine: I'm gonna catch that fish before you do. You just watch. Come on. Let's go.
Paul: This is going to be something. [Sighs]
Avery: Be careful. There's glass everywhere.
Dylan: I'll be okay.
Avery: Do you want to tell me what happened?
Dylan: Ian came by.
Avery: [Sighs] So he goaded you and the two of you got into a fight?
Dylan: You got the goading part right. But this -- this was all me.
Avery: Dylan.
Dylan: The guy was so smug coming in here, saying he couldn't imagine how -- how Nikki's journal made it to the tabloids when we know he delivered it himself! And then he goes on and accuses Paul of being behind it!
Avery: Paul would never do that.
Dylan: Of course not! Ian was just trying to rile me up.
Avery: Good thing that didn't work.
Dylan: And then he was going off about Nikki, all the horrible things she wrote and how it proved that she never wanted me.
Avery: I'm sorry he put you through that.
Dylan: Look, he's gonna do what he's gonna do.
Avery: Okay, well, if that's the case, then you need to prepare yourself.
Dylan: Prepare for -- how?
Avery: Yes, you wouldn't go into battle without your armor and your weapons, right?
Dylan: What are you saying? That I should wear my helmet and my flak jacket and carry my M16?
Avery: Metaphorically speaking, yes, I am. And I think the only way you achieve that, Dylan... I think you need to go back to therapy.
Dylan: Avery --
Avery: You were doing so well with your sessions after everything that happened with Connor. You said the doctor helped you.
Dylan: Yeah, he did.
Avery: So why did you stop going?
Dylan: Because I dealt with the problem.
Avery: You dealt with one problem, Dylan. There is so much more stuff you're dealing with. What's the point of going to therapy if you're only gonna go when there's a crisis? A psychiatrist can help you. They can give you tools to help you handle --
Dylan: I did handle it. I didn't kill Ian.
Billy: Are you sure about this, Jack? I mean, saying goodbye to somebody that you loved for so long --
Jack: Billy, the person you're talking about is gone. I can't keep kidding myself that she's gonna come back to me. And I can't stay in limbo, not when I found the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with.
Traci: Does Summer know?
Jack: I haven't talked to her about it, but frankly, she saw this coming even before I did.
Traci: Jack, I know that you've been struggling with this ever since Phyllis' accident, and we know how hard you have fought to hold on to her. Maybe it's time for you to be happy. You deserve it.
Jack: Thanks, sis. Thanks.
Abby: I want him to be happy, too, but not with the woman who tanked your marriage.
Jack: I heard that.
Traci: [Chuckles]
Jack: And I am confident that Kelly will win you over, too.
Abby: Well, she's got her work cut out for her. And speaking of work, Wendy had a marketing idea she wanted to run by me, so I'm gonna head down there.
Traci: Okay, but then you're coming right back. I'm gonna run to the break room and get us all coffee.
Jack: Uh, I'm good, thanks.
Billy: Yeah, me too.
Traci: Okay.
Jack: Don't you start in on Kelly, too.
Billy: Oh, I've got no room to criticize, not with the mess I've made of my life. This would be the part where you say, "It's gonna get better, Billy."
Jack: I would if you didn't keep making stupid mistakes, like sleeping with Chelsea that once.
Billy: Uh, yeah, about that. That may have happened more than once.
Jack: Are you trying to keep Victoria out of your life?
Billy: It is just sex with Chelsea, nothing more.
Jack: Oh, so you're just using her.
Billy: No. We're helping each other cope. Look, Jack, I swear, I would never do anything to take advantage of Chelsea. I really, really care about her. As friends.
Stitch: You couldn't leave well enough alone, could you? You had to go digging up my past and destroy me in Victoria's eyes and paved the way for Billy to get back with her.
Chelsea: But they're not back together.
Stitch: He's a lot closer than he was before you got involved. Yeah, so I hope that's what you wanted. Congratulations.
Chelsea: I don't regret what I did. Not as far as Billy's concerned. I mean, there's never been anything serious between us.
Stitch: Yeah. Now you've assured that.
Chelsea: I only question my part in getting you suspended from your job. Seeing you with that kid, I see that you're really good at what you do. You're in your element, and it makes me wonder how I would feel if someone told me I couldn't do what I love to do.
Stitch: Yeah. That'd be a real shame depriving the world of another dress that's out of fashion in a year.
Chelsea: That's really nice. I see what you're doing. You're trying to punish me for exposing your deep, dark secrets. Well, you know what? You deserved it. But I do have a lot of compassion for you, despite the way you feel about me.
Stitch: All right, look. I shouldn't have judged you, and I'm sorry. It's just, I love what I do, and I'm really good at it. And to hear you apologize for the price that I've had to pay, as if it's just occurred to you now, you know, after tearing my life apart --
Chelsea: You're not the only person who lost something.
Stitch: So I was right.
Avery: This was all I could find.
Dylan: That'll do.
Avery: That's a pretty bad gash. You may need stitches. We should go to the hospital.
Dylan: Hospital? They'll take a look at this and laugh me out of the ER. Couple butterflies should do it. I got a first-aid kit.
Avery: No, I think someone should take a look at it. If you're not going to let me take you to the hospital, then let me at least call --
Dylan: Stitch? No. I'd rather bleed to death.
Avery: Please don't say that to me.
Dylan: I'm gonna be all right. I mean, nothing's been damaged that can't be fixed.
Christine: I told you I would catch one. And that one was huge.
Paul: It was a whopper! It's like the biggest fish I've ever seen. It would have made a wonderful dinner if you hadn't made me throw it back!
Christine: Oh, you didn't think I was gonna clean that sucker, did you?
Paul: "Bring it on"? It kind of suggests like you might. You're a very sneaky woman.
Christine: Thank you. I will do anything to get you to clear your head for a while.
Paul: It worked. You know, going down by the lake and fishing and having fun is exactly what I needed.
Christine: Mm-hmm.
Paul: Well, we better go to the store before we get involved in something else.
Christine: [Chuckles] I have a better idea. You stay here, do absolutely nothing, and let me take care of it.
Paul: That is a better idea.
Christine: [Chuckles]
Paul: I'll just be right here.
Christine: Stay right there. Be right back.
Paul: Do absolutely nothing. Except look for my phone. Hopefully you'll be gone long enough for me to find it. Right? Okay. Where would Chris put my phone? The clock.
[Knock on door]
Paul: Oh. What did you forget? Some cash or --
Nikki: Oh, Paul. I'm so glad I found you.
Nikki: Ian leaked my journal to the press, the whole thing. And it's all over the tabloids. I have reporters chasing me and harassing me. They're gonna do the same thing to you. You have to be prepared.
Paul: It's all right. Sit down. Relax.
Nikki: Oh, Paul, I am so sorry. Apparently now we are playing out our lives in the press. And it's disgusting. It's demeaning.
Paul: Yeah, I know. You know, when I heard that the case with Ian was thrown out, I-I thought this whole mess would be over.
Nikki: Not even close. We have to do something about him.
Avery: This is gonna sting a little bit.
Dylan: [Winces]
Avery: I know. I'm sorry.
Dylan: It hurt a lot worse when I did it.
Avery: You've been through so much lately. Even someone who hasn't been through the things you've been through wouldn't be able to handle it.
Dylan: Sometimes I just get angry. It isn't always about Afghanistan or post-traumatic anything. And in this case, it's only human that I would be mad as hell at Ian.
Avery: When's the last time you slept?
Dylan: [Sighs]
Avery: I think you need to rest.
Jack: I hope you mean that.
Billy: I do. I know how vulnerable Chelsea is, and I'm careful with her.
Jack: See that you always are.
Billy: I guess I can't blame you for doubting me after everything that happened with Kelly.
Jack: I don't make that comparison. Believe me, I don't hold that against you. You were in the worst possible place at the time.
Billy: Yeah, it doesn't get any worse than that.
Jack: Losing a child has broken stronger people than us. You wouldn't be broken. You put one foot in front of the other even when you thought you couldn't, and I'm proud of you.
Billy: I don't deserve that.
Jack: Yes, you do. You could have gambled your life away. You could have drunk yourself to death. You didn't.
Billy: Yeah, well, that's just 'cause I knew I'd never hear the end of it from you and the rest of the family.
Traci: Boy, you got that right.
Abby: [Chuckles]
Traci: And we are going to keep you on the straight and narrow because we love you.
Jack: That's right.
Billy: I love you guys, too.
Abby: Group hug! Group hug! Come on!
Traci: All right, all right.
Jack: One for all and all for one.
Traci: Always.
Billy: Okay, musketeers, I really do need to go, but we should do this again sometime. And hey, maybe Ashley will actually show up then.
Jack: Take care of yourself.
Billy: That's the plan. Bye, guys.
Traci: Bye.
Jack: Hmm. Okay. One more.
Abby: [Laughs]
Billy: [Sighs]
Neil: Wow. So, what do you think, huh? What do you think?
Cane: It's got good bones.
Neil: Yeah.
Cane: It could use a little work. You really think it's worth all the trouble, though?
Neil: What are you talking about? I don't see it as trouble. I see this, this house, as the perfect home for Hilary and me. You know, she's always talked about having a beautiful house. Doesn't seem like a lot to ask for. And yet, for some crazy reason, she doesn't feel like she deserves it, you know?
Cane: There must be a reason she feels that way.
Neil: Yeah, I'll tell you what it is. It's old voices from her past. And I intend to silence them. Yep, Hilary's gonna find a lot of happiness in this home. I'm gonna see to it. Whatever it takes.
Abby: So, how serious is this with Kelly? Should I buy a black dress for the wedding? Kidding. Sort of.
Jack: How about I tell you if and when you have to go shopping? How's that?
Traci: Who could ask for anything more?
Jack: How about you two? Any romantic prospects on the horizon?
Abby: No. I did have a date with Devon, though.
Traci: Why didn't you tell us?
Abby: There was nothing to tell. We're friends. And he admitted that he has feelings for another woman. A married woman.
Traci: I don't think I like the sound of that. That is not gonna end well.
Abby: But even if he was available, I just -- I realize that I'm not ready for a relationship yet. Honey, you have so much to offer someone. I don't like you to close yourself off like that.
Abby: I could say the same about you.
Jack: She's right, you know. Any guy would be lucky to have either of you in his life.
Traci: Well, you're just a little prejudiced.
Jack: Yes, I am. But don't sell yourself short. And don't shut the door on love. You find it in the strangest places.
Chelsea: You've got it wrong. There's nothing between Billy and me.
Stitch: Ah, but you'd like there to be.
Chelsea: No. Absolutely not. It would never work.
Stitch: Who are you trying to convince?
Billy: Chelsea, you okay?
Chelsea: Oh, Billy, I didn't realize that --
Billy: He bothering you?
Chelsea: Um, no. Not at all. Don't worry about it.
Stitch: Yeah, I was through here, anyway. I'll leave you two alone.
Chelsea: He was just trying to push my buttons. I set him straight.
Billy: Well, I was just, um, crossing through, so...
Chelsea: Billy, wait.
Neil: Hey, what's the problem? Is it a fuse?
Cane: No, you got a couple frayed wires here, and this one's just loose.
Neil: Now, be careful. Can you reattach it?
Cane: Yeah, yeah, yeah. One sec.
Neil: Whoa. Hey.
Cane: Am I good?
Neil: Whoa, yeah. There it is. You're hired. You're my electrician.
Cane: No, no. This is only a temporary fix. You have to get an electrician, all right, 'cause this wire could get loose and it could start a spark, and that could start a fire. You understand that, right?
Neil: Of course I do. I definitely -- I definitely want this place to be right, you know?
Cane: 'Cause it's Hilary's dream house?
Neil: I'm gonna lay the foundation. And we'll build the rest of the dream together.
Hilary: [Sighs]
Devon: I almost walked out of here 'cause I thought you weren't gonna come.
Hilary: I almost didn't. But I knew you were serious. You were gonna leave town for real, and I...I couldn't.
Devon: It's fine. I'm not going anywhere. 'Cause you've given me every single reason in the world to stay.
Hilary: I didn't want this. I tried so hard. But you were always there... in my mind... in my dreams. I did everything I could to stop myself from running and finding you and telling you... that... I love you.
Devon: I love you, too. It's about damn time.
[Both laugh]
Devon: Let's sit down. Come on.
Hilary: How are we gonna do this? I don't want to go behind Neil's back. I can't do that to him.
Devon: We're not gonna go behind Neil's back. We're gonna tell him the truth, and we're gonna tell him now.
Hilary: Yeah.
Devon: All right?
Hilary: Clean break.
Devon: Yeah.
Hilary: So that Neil can... get on with his life, life that I kept him from because I was too much of a coward to tell him that I was choosing someone safe, you know, instead of... putting my heart on the line.
Devon: Hilary, you're making things right. And that's what matters.
Hilary: I just wish Neil...
Devon: I know. I don't want to hurt him any more than you do.
Hilary: He's been so wonderful to me.
Devon: He's been the best, 'cause that's him. He deserves...
Hilary: He deserves someone who loves him... the way I love you.
Devon: You and I, we'll figure out how to tell him, and everything will be fine.
Hilary: Okay. But I have to do it. You can't be there. I don't want Neil blaming you for my mistake. I have to do it alone, and... I have to do it now.
Abby: All right, well, back to the grind.
Traci: Okay. We'll see you later at the house.
Abby: And no more licking our wounds, okay? We are gonna plan our reentry back into the world. We are gonna get all glammed up, go out on the town, and we are gonna send out signals that we are available. What do you say?
Traci: It's a date.
Abby: Great.
[Laughter]
Abby: And thank you for the pep talk, Uncle Jack.
Jack: Anytime.
Abby: Mwah.
Jack: Go work hard. And I am glad you are willing to take a chance again.
Traci: Well, you've kind of shown me that it's worth it. You found love again.
Jack: Well, I had to come to terms with Phyllis' condition, realize I couldn't be with the woman I gave my heart to. But yeah. Yeah, I found love again.
Chelsea: I want to invite you to a party.
Billy: Uh, Chelse, I-I don't know.
Chelsea: No, it's a -- it's a cake-and-clown kind of party. Connor's birthday.
Billy: That's nice of you to ask, but you don't have to feel obligated.
Chelsea: No, I don't. I don't. I-I'd like you to be there.
Billy: Then I will be.
Nikki: I was hoping to talk to Christine, too. [Sniffles] I mean, there's got to be something she can do to neutralize Ian. Maybe she can charge him with something for publishing my journal.
Paul: I don't know that she'd have cause, Nik. Your journal was entered into public record at the trial. Anyone would have license to quote it.
Nikki: Well, then you've got to find some other way to get him out of our lives! If we don't, I don't know what's gonna happen! I don't know what I'm gonna do! I mean, I've already come so close...
Paul: Come close to what?
Nikki: [Sobs]
Paul: What are you telling me?
Nikki: Paul, it's just too much for me! It's all too much!
Paul: Oh, come on. Come on. It's gonna be all right. It's gonna be fine. It's gonna get better.
Nikki: [Sobs]
Paul: All right? I'm here for you.
Nikki: I know.
Paul: Relax.
Dylan: [Breathing heavily]
[Machine-gun fire]
