Episode # 10472 ~ The pressure gets to Nikki; Devon gives Hilary a choice; Nick finds something unexpected at Newman-Chancellor.

Provided By Suzanne

Nick: What's with you, Dad? Why you --

Victoria: What did Dad do this time?

Devon: Hey.

Hilary: Oh, please, acting so surprised? Does your new girlfriend know that you're stalking your father's wife?

Michael: [Groans]

Lauren: Good morning, sunshine.

Michael: Oh... What time is it? How long have I been out?

Lauren: Um, let's see. Do you want that in hours or days?

Michael: Oh, no! Damn it! I missed the lingerie.

Lauren: [Laughs]

Michael: I missed the taking off of the lingerie, I missed all the lingerie related activities.

Lauren: Clearly you needed your sleep. And, actually, I fell asleep right after you.

Michael: No. This is -- this is conduct unbecoming of a hot, sexy couple wildly in love. And ready to show it.

Lauren: Actually, I thought it was just two sleepy people.

Michael: It is an affront to love and to lust and must be addressed post haste.

Lauren: Well, I am ready to make haste [Chuckles] any time you are.

[Kissing]

Dylan: Hey.

Avery: Hi. You left before I woke up.

Dylan: Yeah, I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd be productive, so I came here. You okay?

Avery: Something's happened, and I need to tell you about it.

Dylan: Okay, go ahead.

Avery: First I need your word.

Dylan: About?

Avery: That you're not gonna freak out.

Nikki: Do you think you have enough powdered sugar on those pancakes or is there no such thing?

Faith: [Giggles] It makes everything taste so good.

Nikki: I know it does. But, you know, sometimes, it can be bad.

Ian: A fine morning to you, mademoiselle, et madame.

Nikki: Excuse us, we are having a ladies' breakfast. Although I know you probably have a plane to catch, seeing as there's no reason for you to stay in town anymore.

Ian: Life is a blessing and a gift, isn't it, mademoiselle? Big surprises, especially in a wonderful town like Genoa City. How could I ever leave such a wonderful town? Could you?

Nikki: Okay, honey. Um, I know that you're hungry, and this man is -- is just leaving, because he certainly doesn't want to overstay his welcome.

Ian: Of course not, but there's something that I have to leave you with. It's shameful. Maybe you ought to put it off until after the ladies' breakfast.

Nikki: Oh, my God.

Devon: I'm a stalker?

Hilary: What is with that tone? Are you saying I am?

Devon: I just came here for a run, like I've been doing for years. This is my park. This is where I come to. My grandmother's name's even on it.

Hilary: You want to talk meaningful connection to this location? Well, I got married here.

Devon: I remember, I was there.

Hilary: Are you sure you want to stand here talking to me for so long? Your girlfriend might want to take one of us out for having a conversation.

Devon: Who are you talking about? Who's my girlfriend? Abby? We went on one date.

Hilary: A date where you shut down the rooftop, so that you could have privacy. I assume you put that privacy to good use.

Devon: Oh, you don't have to assume. We did. And it was worth it, too. It was worth it in the cabana. It was worth it in the pool. We made it worth it in the jacuzzi.

Hilary: Oh, how lovely for the two of you.

Devon: You don't mean that.

Hilary: Yes, I do. I told you, Devon. I want you to be happy. I meant it.

Devon: I am happy.

Hilary: I'm glad.

Devon: Good. So, the question is, who's the worse liar, you or me?

Nick: So are you back at work?

Victoria: Yep.

Nick: At Newman-Chancellor.

Victoria: Evidently.

Nick: Since when? Why?

Victoria: Why not?

Nick: Seriously? Why not?

Victoria: Look, just because you don't want to be here doesn't mean I have to pretend this place doesn't exist.

Nick: So everything Dad's pulled just gets wiped away? You're back, being the good soldier, turning Dad a profit.

Victoria: I am not gonna concentrate on Dad's sins, all right? I've got Billy's mistakes, I've got Ben's crimes, I've got this child that I'm growing. And, you know, I saw Dad last night, and he was the dad that I needed him to be. He reminded me that there's a lot more to me than a pregnant woman with an extremely complicated personal life. Mm! And with Dad out of town on business, someone's got to be in charge.

Nick: So here you are.

Victoria: Yeah, here I am. I've already gone over some contracts, I've contacted some department heads, and for the last minute or two, I've managed not to obsess on what's gonna happen after this baby is born.

Nick: Is this permanent, you being back?

Victoria: Nick, does it matter? This is where I need to be. Look, you and I, we're not the same person. I can be your sister and do the things that you wouldn't do, and you're just gonna have to deal with that. Please.

Nick: All right. Well, you're back in the office, in dad's chair, which makes you his representative. So don't tell me it's not a big deal until you hear about the latest stunt dad has pulled.

Dylan: You thought I'd be mad about this?

Avery: Secret sex-cult diary? It's pretty awful.

Dylan: [Sighs] I'm okay.

Avery: It's your personal story. Your birth, right there in print. It's invasive, it's unacceptable. No one could argue that.

Dylan: Did you read this?

Avery: I did.

Dylan: [Sighs] Nikki and Paul were practically kids. Ian preyed on them once and he's doing it again. Like ripping them up in court wasn't enough.

Avery: He's disgusting. He is a vile, repulsive waste of skin. You have every right to be mad at him, watching how he's treating Nikki and Paul. And none of us can get upset. None of us can freak out, no matter how much we want to rip his face off. [Sighs]

Dylan: H-how's your blood pressure right now? Because mine's pretty good, but I think yours is probably off the charts.

Avery: Okay, maybe I'm more upset about this than I realized. And here I am, worried how you'd react. I'm sorry.

Dylan: No, there's nothing to apologize for. You know, it's okay if you get fired up for both of us. You won't do something crazy, like someone else I know.

Avery: I'm not implying that you would do something crazy.

Dylan: No, it's -- I've had plenty of bad reactions. But I don't want you to worry. Here. What do you feel?

Avery: I feel your heartbeat.

Dylan: Nice and steady.

Avery: That's good.

Dylan: Which means, I will be calm when I go to the athletic club to talk to Ian face-to-face.

Avery: Oh, calm is great. Calm is excellent. And you're not going to see Ian ward without me. And I am going as a partner, not a babysitter.

Faith: Can I see?

Nikki: No, honey. Uh...no. I-I-I -- we don't read trash like this. You know what? Why don't you get your game out of your bag and play your game for a little bit? 'Cause I-I have to have a little grown-up talk, okay?

Faith: Okay.

Nikki: Come over here. How dare you? My journal was private, and you reveal it in a court of law? This is not for public consumption.

Ian: I know, I-it's shameful. If you can't trust the judicial system...

Nikki: Oh, please!

Ian: ...Who can you trust?

Nikki: You disgusting pig.

Ian: What, you think I leaked it, Nikki?

Nikki: I'm surprised you haven't wallpapered a building with it.

Ian: And why would I want to reveal more of those words in that lovely journal of yours, huh? You painted me as though I were a predator.

Nikki: Mm-hmm.

Ian: And I-I'm just as upset as you are -- just as big a victim of the press.

Nikki: You gave this to some unethical journalist just to twist the knife for me, Paul, and Dylan.

Ian: No, completely untrue. You and Paul were once part of my mission, and Dylan was, for a short time, my son. No, Nikki. Seeing you suffer does not give me any pleasure.

Nikki: You know what? I beat you in court once, and I will do it again.

Ian: How? By revealing more of your horrible thoughts? Huh? Like these? "I'm so scared. The baby is growing inside me."

Nikki: Oh, my God.

Ian: "What if he or she inherits Ian's evil? Please, God, let someone love this baby. I don't think I ever could." God, it's enough to make the reader weep for your unloved son.

Nikki: You bastard.

Michael: There you go.

Lauren: Wow! [Smooches] This is amazing. Hmm, maybe this could become a regular occurrence when our son is in college. What do you think?

Michael: No, you couldn't do this with teens in the house. They'd smell the food and come scampering in.

Lauren: [Laughs]

Michael: Be lucky not to lose an arm.

Lauren: That's very true. And I do not want to be interrupted at all. Fen could be traumatized, and that poor kid has been through enough, right?

Michael: Well, we all have.

Lauren: Mmm, so good.

Michael: Which is why I vow never to neglect you again, like I did last night. I am so sorry.

Lauren: Are you seriously upset about this?

Michael: Yes, I am, actually.

Lauren: Baby, sometimes life gets in the way of these things.

Michael: No. No, it can't. I'm not gonna let it. Look, you and I lost sight of things not so long ago, and it was hard, you know, getting us back. You know, rebuilding trust, remembering that...we were meant to stay together forever. And now that we're here again... I need to make sure that you know how much I love you. How much I value our -- our days. And our nights.

Lauren: Me too, baby. More than you know. I'd like to show you how much.

Michael: Well, all right.

Lauren: Okay, no, no, no, no, not yet. Wait. Here, get this off.

Michael: Okay. All right. I got it. Oh, well, where are you going? It's gonna be, uh -- it's usually -- well, okay.

Lauren: [Laughs] There is something that I promised you. Something you haven't seen yet.

Michael: Oh, the lingerie! Yes! Please. Please.

Nick: Look, it's bad enough that dad sicced Mariah after Sharon, but then he went digging with dr. Mead, trying to squeeze information out of Sharon's psychiatrist.

Victoria: What did Sharon do?

Nick: What else could she do? She obviously can't trust her anymore, so she had to fire her. And w Sharon has to find a new doctor. What dad has done is despicable.

Victoria: It is. I won't argue that.

Nick: Yet here you are, in the chair.

Victoria: [Sighs] Nick, dad had me arrested on my wedding day. And yeah, here I am. I mean, obviously we have a very complicated relationship. That's not news, okay? This -- this is where I need to be, and -- and me sitting in this chair doesn't excuse dad's bad behavior. I'm not validating this thing with Mariah, I am not saying that dad was right about not telling us that Adam was the hit-and-run driver. It was awful. It's not okay. But you know what else is not okay? The fact that there are two men that could be the father of this child, and they're both liars. So, no, I need to be right here right now, not at home, not in the father-knows-best house that Billy and I bought together. How's that for twisted? A little daddy humor to rub a little salt in the wound.

Nick: Stress is not your friend right now.

Victoria: That's true.

Nick: And this place is not exactly stress-free.

Victoria: Especially not with you here giving me a hard time.

Nick: All right. I mean, if this is what you and my niece or nephew need, then... well, then I'll back off.

Victoria: Thank you. Because this is good. You know, this place used to be my lifeblood.

Nick: Yeah. I used to think it was my lifeblood, too. But then -- I mean, just walking in these doors got me all stressed again. I just -- I'm never going back under dad's thumb.

Victoria: And I am?

Nick: That's not what I meant.

Victoria: Okay, so, you can't forgive dad, which I get. But you give Mariah a job, you move her into your house --

Nick: So I can keep an eye on her. There's more going on in this girl's head and in her past. She's leaving a trail. I just got to follow it.

Ian: I mean, for a child to hear that about his birth? Devastating. And for your other children, you know, here, reading all about your thoughts, about how a mother couldn't love her own child...

Nikki: I'm not gonna get into this with you, except to say that it was only with love and hope that I left that baby at the church.

Ian: I believe you, Nicole. I do. But sadly, that's not what's been exposed to the public.

Nikki: You are perverse. You don't even have the decency to show the world your true face.

Ian: Oh, but you've shown the world yours.

Nikki: No, you have done this. You exploited evidence from a trial that you orchestrated.

Ian: Exploited, huh? I-I admit, you know, I had to blush at some of the lustier passages. You and Paul had a very passionate bond. People aren't gonna look at our noble chief of police the same way again.

Nikki: Get out. Get out, take your trash with you.

Ian: No, no, no. This is for you. I'm sure I can find another, Nicole. Hang onto it.

Nikki: You vile piece of... get out. [Breathing shakily] Hi, Victor. It's me. Um...I don't know if you're in a meeting, or maybe you're still on the jet...but when you get the message, can you please call me? I'm fine. I-I'm really fine. Just -- just please call, okay? Oh, my baby, I am so sorry, but I think we have to cut our special date short.

Faith: Summer's friend left.

Nikki: Well, you know, he's not actually her friend. I know he seems like a really nice man, but he isn't. So if he ever tries to talk to you, I want you to run to your mother or father, or any other adult, okay, right away. I'm gonna take care of the check.

Reporter: Mrs. Newman, any comment about why you gave away your love child, Dylan McAvoy?

Nikki: Get away from us before I call the police! Get out!

Faith: Grandma, you gave away uncle Dylan?

Devon: Abby and I are just friends. I admit that. So you go on, admit that that's exactly what you wanted to hear. And no more that you're happy for me, no more you want me to find somebody else.

Hilary: I should want you to be happy with a beautiful woman who makes you laugh. I should invite you to dinner with Neil and me. We should be able to sit around a table and be happy for each other.

Devon: Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Not for me.

Hilary: [Sighs] I have to get to work.

Devon: Listen, I didn't mean -- hey.

Hilary: [Sighs]

Devon: Sorry.

Hilary: No, please don't.

Victoria: How could Mariah hide anything at this point? I mean, she lives in your house, she works in your nightclub. You must know her every waking thought.

Nick: I wish I did, then I'd know how to handle her. Figure out what she's after. Sharon is completely invested in helping her, but I just caught her in another big lie. Put that with the fact that Mariah and Ian are really tight -- he's like a father figure to her.

Victoria: Well, that right there is enough to never trust her again.

Nick: It's a "keep your enemies close" type thing. I can keep an eye on her, do a little digging.

Victoria: Is it overreacting to say that she gives me an "Adam" vibe? All of her secrets and her little head games?

Nick: Adam was just out to destroy everything in his path. Mariah's not like that. She's just a -- she's just a kid who made some mistakes. She's not vicious. At least, that's what I'm hoping.

Victoria: If I were you, I would sleep with one eye open, Brother.

Nick: That is the plan.

[Telephone rings]

Nick: Okay. I'm gonna let you get back to world domination in Newman's name.

Victoria: Oh, you can ridicule me all you want, but I know you still cash those dividend checks, so why don't you let me get back to work and make you some money?

Nick: All right.

Victoria: Hey. What? Okay. Uh, thank you.

Nick: What's wrong?

Victoria: Get over here right now.

Nick: Son of a...

Victoria: Ian's gonna break Mom once and for all.

Nikki: Get out of my way. Sweetheart, I'm gonna take you home, okay?

Faith: You didn't really give away Uncle Dylan, did you?

Nikki: Oh, no, my baby. It's complicated. I-I-It wasn't like that.

Reporter: Well, what was it like? Was this before or after your dance career?

Nikki: Get out!

Dylan: Hey, man, there's a kid right here.

Avery: Devon Hamilton has expressly forbidden reporters inside the club. How about you sit tight, and we'll have you charged with trespass.

Reporter: What about the diary?

Dylan: Hey, you know what? I don't have to wait for the cops.

Nikki: Honey, I'm so sorry. One bad man after another.

Faith: Was he lying?

Nikki: Well, he was twisting things.

Faith: But not lying.

Nikki: Angel, it's so complicated.

Avery: Okay, I am gonna make some calls, put the fear of the law and the Newman name into these vultures. Excuse me.

Dylan: I know kids are tough. It's okay. She's smart. She'll see us together. She'll know that you would never --

Nikki: Give you away? But I did.

Dylan: We can explain it to her.

Nikki: Really? How are we gonna do that? Th-that I was with two different men, and I-I didn't realize that the one who wasn't evil is my baby's father? We're gonna explain that to her?

Dylan: Not -- not like that. But in a way that she can understand.

Nikki: She's just a kid. You're an adult, do you understand?

Dylan: Of course, I do.

Nikki: I just wanted to protect you so much when you were a baby. I can't protect you from this now.

Dylan: You don't have to.

Nikki: Yes, I do. This is a mother's job, and I have failed.

Dylan: No, you have not. You do not need to protect me. I'm okay. I am. Are you? You want me to call Victor or the doctor?

Nikki: I called Victor. No doctors. Please, no doctors.

Avery: Nikki, I'm working on getting a cease and desist to prevent the tabloid from printing any more of the journal.

Nikki: I need to see Michael about our next move.

Avery: Yes, Victor would want you to see Michael. And, of course, I'll give him any backup he needs.

Nikki: Oh, God, I can't take Faith to a lawyer's office.

Dylan: I'll hang out with her. We're buddies, and Avery can help.

Nikki: Thank you. She does adore you so much. [Clears throat] Well, my baby, I am so sorry, but I've got to go, and your Uncle Dylan is gonna look after you now, and I know you have a lot of fun with him. Look, I'm sorry that our date got cut short.

Avery: Dylan...

Dylan: Avery, I'm just --

Avery: I know, you're not fine. You're not fine and neither is Nikki. Look, be brave for each other, but not for me. It's obvious that she feels responsible, and that's exactly what Ian wants. He exploited her then, he's exploiting her now.

Dylan: It just makes me sick. But right now... How do we make this okay for that little girl?

Avery: Sometimes ice cream is the best medicine.

Faith: Ice cream isn't medicine.

Avery: Uh, no. You're right, Faith, it's not. [Taps fingers]

Faith: What's a love child?

Avery: Uh...that...a love child is...when a...man and a woman...um... Dylan?

Dylan: You know what's -- what's cool, Faith? Is that you were one of my first friends when I came to Genoa City. Remember helping me fix your mom's kitchen? Best mini-contractor ever, by the way. And then I got really lucky, and I found out that I was your uncle. I never had a niece. Then I get the best one in the world.

Faith: You never had a niece or a mom?

Dylan: Well, actually, I did. Your grandma made it possible for Terry and Penelope to raise me. That's my mom and dad who adopted me, and they were great. They were incredible. You would have loved them. Nikki didn't give me away. She gave me a great life. And now, I have a whole new family. I have you, I have Summer, Noah, your dad and your aunt Victoria. I'm -- I'm the luckiest guy in the world. Look, you never, ever have to be sad for me, okay?

Faith: You're ours now.

Dylan: I am. Always.

Faith: I would never give you away.

[Door opens, shuts]

Lauren: So help me, you better be faking.

Michael: [Growls]

Lauren: Ah! [Giggles]

Michael: Trust me. Whew! I am wide awake.

Lauren: Mm. Yes, yes you are.

[Doorbell rings]

Michael: I don't hear anything, I don't hear anything.

Lauren: No, I don't either.

[Doorbell rings]

Michael: No, they'll go away, whoever's not there right now.

Lauren: Okay.

[Doorbell rings]

Michael: Sorry, I will get rid of them.

Lauren: [Sighs]

Nikki: [Sobs]

Michael: Nikki, what --

Nikki: Michael, I'm sorry. Victor's out of town, and I-I really need you.

Michael: What? What's wrong?

Nikki: This! [Sobs] They have my diary. They're shouting it to the world.

Michael: It's Ian ward. He got it in discovery.

Nikki: He's trying to destroy me. And he couldn't do it in court, so now he is making sure that every person I love is hurt. I'm sorry I'm bothering you. [Sobbing]

Ian: All right. Next round is on you.

David: [Chuckles] Okay, you are not listening. Leaking court documents is a bad idea.

Ian: Are you implying that I was responsible? My hands are spotless. And that tabloid couldn't say otherwise. And if ever we do catch the culprit, I'll sue him for tarnishing my good name.

David: Oh, so you're the victim here?

Ian: I may be bowed, but I will not be broken. And as for Nikki, her lover, and their bastard child, what happens will happen. We can only watch.

Hilary: Hi, Steve. Um, I'll see you at the office. [Sighs]

Devon: You afraid of something?

Hilary: He works in accounting. He could say something. It could get back to Neil.

Devon: Like what? We're standing in the park doing nothing.

Hilary: It's never nothing with you. The way I feel when I see you, the...things I think. Neil is planning this surprise. It's supposed to be huge and romantic, and I told him no. I don't deserve it.

Devon: Well, that's ridiculous, because you deserve the world.

Hilary: No, I don't.

Devon: Yes, you do.

Hilary: I kissed my husband and I thought of you. That's horrible. Out of all the awful things that I've done in my life... I say that I -- I'm not that woman anymore. And then I go and I do this. I didn't know the man that he was when I tried to ruin his life. But now I know how good he is. How warm and sweet and loving and... still I stand here, staring at you, thinking things that I shouldn't think, saying things that I sh--

Devon: Hilary, I should leave you alone. But I can't. I owe my dad so much, yet you still fill my head up until it pushes everything else out. Neil knows me. It's a matter of time before he figures out how I feel.

Hilary: It's like an avalanche. It just -- it won't stop, and it's gonna pull all of us under.

Devon: That's why something needs to happen, and it needs to be now.

Nick: Yeah, I'll let you know.

Victoria: Dad's still not answering.

Nick: He might still be on the jet. Avery just said that mom went over to talk to Michael.

Victoria: Well, then, she's definitely seen it.

Nick: Well, it gets worse. Apparently, some jackass reporter cornered mom and Faith at the athletic club.

Victoria: Are they okay?

Nick: Apparently Dylan was super uncle and talked Faith through it.

Victoria: I'm surprised he didn't knock that reporter out.

Nick: Must have been tempting. But the reporter's just a symptom. Ian ward is the disease. I still can't believe dad did not get rid of this punk.

Victoria: Dad's games are okay as long as you approve of the victim?

Nick: Yeah, they are. Look, what dad did to Sharon was malicious, but I know the difference between an innocent, non-threatening victim like Sharon, and a piece of garbage like Ian ward. Whatever it takes to make this guy go away, that's what needs to happen.

Nikki: But she's just a child.

Michael: All right. I need a court order halting the distribution of protected evidence. You -- yes, I'll hold.

[Knock on door]

Nikki: Oh, my God. Did one of those vultures follow me here?

Lauren: I'll get it. Oh, Avery. Come on in.

Avery: Hi.

Nikki: Where are Dylan and Faith?

Avery: They had ice cream. Dylan is taking Faith home. She is much better. She's gonna be okay.

Nikki: What about Dylan? I-I hate that he is going through this because of me.

Avery: Okay, and all Dylan is talking about is how worried he is about you. He's calm. Trust me, he's not putting on a brave face. He was calming Faith, I think it was soothing for both of them. He's a protector, Nikki, that's just what he does.

Nikki: I have made his life miserable since the day I announced he was my son.

Avery: That is not true. Dylan is so grateful to have you in his life.

Nikki: At what cost?

Michael: Avery! Avery -- I-I have a colleague who may have some connections. Here, talk to these people.

Avery: Okay. Hello? This is Avery bailey Clark. What's the holdup? I don't understand.

Lauren: Nikki, I understand.

Avery: Well, you tell them we need it now.

Nikki: No, you can't.

Lauren: Um...yes, I can.

Avery: No, we need it now.

Lauren: Do you remember when that video of carmine and me was splashed all over the world, and...oh, to have that private moment broadcast... it was unbearable. But we bear it because we have to. You and I are not novices to scandal. And that's why we're survivors.

Nikki: Yeah. I'm not gonna fall apart.

Lauren: No, no.

Nikki: That just puts the burden back on the people that I love. But the fact that they're suffering because of me...

Michael: Okay. Yes. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Lauren: Anything?

Michael: Some progress, yes.

Avery: The tabloid has agreed to pull the story from the website.

Nikki: Oh!

Michael: And they will not print any more excerpts from your journal.

Nikki: Thank you. But damage has been done. And those words about Dylan and Paul can't be taken back. Ian should be punished for causing all this pain.

Michael: All right, well, first we have to connect him to the leak. The tabloid still insists that the delivery was anonymous.

Nikki: Well, that's ridiculous. Who else would do it?

Michael: Yeah, well, I agree with you, but that's not a very effective legal argument.

Nikki: He has been trying to destroy my family for months, and he is relentless. And he's probably gloating as we speak.

Lauren: All right, Nikki, don't let him shake you. That's exactly what he wants.

Avery: And Dylan is handling Faith. She'll be fine.

Nikki: For how long? Those words are gonna be on the internet forever. And I know they're gonna be in the back of Dylan's mind. So everybody that I love is just gonna have to live with those words forever. Because of that vile man.

Dylan: It's brave of you to be here right now. Or stupid.

Ian: Well, I was worried that you'd be really upset about the invasion of privacy in the tabloid, as am I.

Dylan: Yeah, I bet you feel just awful.

Ian: I do.

Dylan: Why? Because you didn't get a story byline?

Ian: [Scoffs] Y-you did not read the quotes painting me as evil? And you, by extension? Having them read by millions of people who read that stuff?

Dylan: Yeah, well, lucky me, I actually had two good men as my fathers -- terry and Paul.

Ian: And two mothers that lied and changed your life.

Devon: Here.

Hilary: [Scoffs] I don't understand.

Devon: There's an address on here to a bar that I go to. It's a little bit outside of town, where nobody knows me or anything about me.

Hilary: You want a drink?

Devon: I want you. That's what I want. And if you want me, too, you will meet me here this afternoon.

Hilary: And...if I don't?

Devon: Then I am gonna leave town.

Hilary: You said that before.

Devon: I know I did. But I can't keep doing what I'm doing. I can't do this. I can't keep seeing you. I can't keep running into you and knowing in my head, every day, that you're not with me. All right? I'll see you later.

Michael: I'm sorry, guys. Nikki insisted on taking off. She just left.

Avery: I offered to drive her, but she wouldn't let me. How's Faith?

Nick: I just checked in with Sharon. They're doing some talking, some distracting. So whatever you and Dylan said really helped.

Avery: No, that's -- that's all Dylan. Faith still doesn't like me. But she dotes on him, and he's wonderful with her.

Victoria: Thank God.

Nick: Well, I'm glad he was able to keep his cool in front of Faith. I mean, considering what we would both like to do to that reporter and Ian.

Michael: Not a good idea, especially given how litigious this man is.

Avery: Right. I'm sure Dylan wanted to react, but he didn't. He didn't lose it.

Ian: You know, it pains me to say it, Dylan, but I have a theory about who might be responsible for leaking Nicole's diary. Your biological father, Paul Williams. I think Chief Williams wanted to let the world know how he was denied his child all these years. So who can blame your father for stooping to revenge?

Dylan: Shut up and get out.

Ian: No, I'm not trying to upset you --

Dylan: Not another word about Paul or Nikki again.

Ian: No, when we see our parents as they really are, we begin to see ourselves.

Dylan: Get out!

Ian: Of course. Good luck, son. And I mean that.

Dylan: [Sighs]

Victoria: Mom, thank God. Nick's here. We're at Michael's. I-I'm gonna put you on speaker.

Nick: Mom?

Nikki: How are you both? I've been worried.

Victoria: Yeah, well, we've been worried about you, too.

Nikki: Oh, no, don't worry about me. I-I am upset, of course, but I'll be fine soon enough.

Nick: Where are you? We'll come to you right now.

Nikki: What I really need is some time to think. Have you seen Faith?

Nick: We wanted to check on you first.

Nikki: Well, she needs you. Be with her. Please.

Nick: I will.

Victoria: Mom, just let us know if you don't want to be alone.

Nikki: I know. I'll call you right away. Thank you, my darlings. I'm so grateful for all of you. Vodka martini, please.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Chelsea: You're trying to punish me for exposing your deep, dark secrets. Well you know what? You deserved it.

Paul: I wonder how Dylan's doing.

Christine: You don't have to worry about Dylan.
