Episode # 10466 ~ Lily plays matchmaker; Mariah & Summer butt heads.

Provided By Suzanne

Lily: Okay. Let me know if you hear anything else. Bye.

Cane: Hey.

Lily: Hey.

Cane: What's the matter? Is something wrong?

Lily: Dad hasn't heard anything from Devon since he asked him to drive Hilary home last night.

Cane: You haven't seen either of them this morning?

Lily: No. Oh, I know. Maybe Devon told her how he really feels about her. Then she took off, never to be heard from again.

Cane: How he feels about what?

Lily: Well, I mean, about dad marrying her.

Cane: Oh.

Lily: Loving, supportive son role, but he can't be any happier than I am that dad married that lying, manipulative bitch.

Cane: Yeah.

Lily: Wait, you don't think something actually happened to them, do you?

Cane: No, there could be any number of explanations.

Lily: Yeah, but dad sounded worried. Maybe there's a reason to be.

Cane: You know, there's probably some perfectly good reason why they've been out of touch. It's okay.

Devon: I still can't believe that you're afraid of --

Hilary: Oh, c--

Devon: Dad?

Neil: Hey! Hilary. Devon. Thank God. Thank God you're okay.

Hilary: What's the --

Neil: Both of you -- what happened?

Hilary: What's going on? Why aren't you in Hong Kong?

Neil: My trip got canceled last minute. I tried to call you both on cell phone but neither one of you picked up. What happened?

Devon: So you called the police?

Neil: What would you do, Devon? You come home, your wife is missing, she's out all night. I mean, of course I called the police. Where were you all night?

Victor: Well, aren't you going to invite me in? I'd like to see you open this gift. Since I didn't have the pleasure of seeing you walk down the aisle.

Summer: Um, I'm sorry. I just didn't want any drama at the wedding.

Victor: Whoa! Who said there would be drama? Well, hello. You must be the young man who shot Paul Williams.

Summer: Hello, drama.

Austin: It's okay. Your grandfather just tells it like it is. What I did was wrong, and I'm ok with whatever comes my way.

Victor: Well, I'll be damned. A young man willing to accept responsibility for his actions. I respect that.

Nick: Sharon? What is it? What do you remember?

Sharon: That's the I can't make sense of it. All I saw were bits and pieces, and I don't know if it's part of a real memory or if it's something I imagined when I was off my meds.

Nick: It will come. You and your therapist will figure it out.

Sharon: I need to do this another way. And Mariah can help.

Mariah: Me? How could I possibly help?

Sharon: I'm not clear on when I imagined seeing Cassie or when you posed as her, so I need you to sort that out.

Mariah: Sure, I'll try.

Nick: You could help by taking care of those customers right now.

Sharon: Okay, what's up?

Nick: What?

Sharon: You deliberately sent Mariah away just now.

Nick: No, I sent her out there so she could do her job.

Sharon: So that she wouldn't go over my memories with me. Why are you against it?

Nick: Because she's not a professional, Sharon. You need a qualified counselor to help you with your recovery.

Sharon: Yes, I have Dr. Meade and all she tells me is the same thing every week -- "be patient. Your memories will come back to you."

Nick: Well, that sounds like great advice to me.

Sharon: Well, then why am I getting worse, not better?

Nick: What do you mean, getting worse? You say things are coming back to you all the time.

Sharon: And the more that they do, the more confused I get.

Nick: I know this is frustrating for you.

Sharon: Okay, well, then don't try to stop me from talking to Mariah about it. Even if it could do me the least bit of good.

Nick: Okay, what if it's having the opposite effect, hmm? This time you're trying to remember -- it's when Mariah was working with my father. Everything she did was influenced by her agenda. And who knows? She may still have one.

Summer: That's more like it. You can compliment my husband any time you'd like.

Victor: Well, let me be clear on that, okay? I respect the fact that you assume responsibility for the crime you committed. But as far as you personally are concerned, I shall reserve judgment until I know you better, all right?

Austin: Well, I look forward to spending more time with you, sir. But right now I have to get to work.

Victor: Good. Don't let me keep you.

Summer: Have a good day.

Austin: I will. You too.

Summer: Love you.

Austin: Love you, too.

Victor: Nice meeting you.

Austin: You, as well.

Victor: The website kept him on although he was arrested?

Summer: No, actually, he just got a job at the underground.

Victor: What?

Summer: Yeah. I know.

Victor: Works for Nicholas?

Summer: Who would have thought it? Dad was so against our relationship from the start.

Victor: What changed his mind?

Summer: I don't know. I guess he just thought, "why fight it?" I'm not gonna leave Austin ever, so he just jumped onboard. So did Jack. He's letting us live here rent-free.

Victor: Well, isn't that mighty big of him?

Summer: Look, grandpa, I really appreciate his support. Just as much as I appreciate yours.

Victor: I want you to open this now. There we go.

Summer: Okay. What did you get me? Grandpa! They're gorgeous.

Victor: You know, I bought a strand like that for your grandmother when she and I got married.

Summer: Which time was that?

Victor: [Laughs] "Which time was that?" [Laughs] That's a good question. I also bought a pair like that for Victoria when she got married, you know?

Summer: It's really sweet.

Victor: I want to keep up the tradition. With every woman in my family.

Summer: Thank you. Not just for the beautiful gift, but...for still considering me as part of this family.

Victor: Sweetheart, you'll always be part of my family, okay? For anyone to think otherwise, I won't have it.

Summer: Thank you.

Victor: You're welcome, okay?

Summer: I love them.

Victor: They'll look pretty on you.

Summer: Yeah?

Victor: Yeah. Look at that. [Chuckles]

Lily: Have you heard from him at all?

Abby: Hey, guys.

Lily: Hey.

Cane: Hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey.

Lily: How was your spa day with Traci?

Abby: Looks like it's better than how your day's going.

Lily: Yeah, I'm just a little worried about Devon. We haven't heard from him since last night.

Abby: And that's unusual?

Lily: For him, yeah.

Abby: Maybe he's with a woman.

Lily: [Chuckles] Not in the way that you're thinking.

Cane: [Sighs]

Lily: Anyway, how w your gold facial? Was it sinful or what?

Abby: I wouldn't know. I skipped it.

Lily: Why? Was there a problem with the aesthetician?

Abby: No, no, I was just too keyed up after my run-in with Tyler today to relax. I saw Tyler here today with a girl.

Lily: Yeah, it was for a photo shoot. I even watched some of it.

Abby: All I saw was Tyler coming down the stairs with a woman wearing too much makeup and too short of a dress.

Cane: So you immediately thought that they slept together?

Abby: Worse. I basically called her a hooker.

Lily: You did what?

Abby: What was I supposed to think? Her name was destiny.

Cane: Excuse me. I have to this phone call. One second.

Lily: Abby, this is not the kind of place they rent rooms out by the hour.

Abby: I know, and I know that Tyler is not the kind of guy who has to pay for sex. I mean, look at him. He's stunning, he's charming. He walks into a room and all the heads turn to look at him.

Lily: Okay, you need to stop, because the same can be said for you. You walked in here and every guy in here was looking at you. Including that hottie over there. So why are you dwelling on Tyler when you have the pick of any guy in this room?

Abby: Believe me. I wish that I could just get over it.

Lily: Okay, well, you know what? Oh, here's your chance. Because hottie is coming this way. Go talk to him. Go. Get up. Get up.

Abby: Fine.

Lily: Thank you. Goodbye. Have fun! [Chuckles]

Cane: And there she goes again -- matchmaker.

Lily: Well, it's not my fault I want everyone to be as happy as we are.

Cane: Well, I hate to disappoint you, but I don't think she cares about a single word that Mr. Universe has to say.

Lily: Okay, you know what? Maybe I struck out on this one, but I'm not giving up, because I have the perfect guy for Abby.

Cane: Oh, really?

Lily: Yeah.

Cane: I hate to remind you, but you don't really have a very good record when it comes to matchmaking.

Lily: Um, excuse you. The same thing is not gonna happen as what happened with my dad and Kelly.

Cane: Are you sure about that?

Cane: Yes, I am sure. Because I happen to know that Devon is available and he's looking.

Devon: So the car just died. And we ended up in the middle of no man's land.

Hilary: Yeah, with no cell phone reception.

Devon: Yeah.

Neil: So where were you? No, better yet, why -- why were you out there?

Hilary: I have never been in a car like that before. And I thought it would be fun to take it out on the open road. It was not fun.

Devon: No, it wasn't fun at all, 'cause we had to wait till the sun came up to flag someone down.

Hilary: Yeah.

Neil: Okay. That explains that. I guess there's no need to file an incident report. Officer, appreciate you coming out. You have a good one.

Devon: [Sighs]

Hilary: I'm so sorry that we worried you.

Neil: You know, you had me worried half to death, baby. But it's not your fault that this rich man's million-dollar car is a lemon.

Devon: Ha ha, right.

Neil: You know, you can make lemonade out of that car. When are you gonna get rid of that pile of junk?

Devon: I've heard it already from Hilary. It's all style and no substance. Why you buy a car without a button?

Neil: Button?

Hilary: You had to be there.

Neil: Yeah, I wish I had been, but since I wasn't, this man was. Superman once again comes through and saves the day. Thank you, sir, for taking care of my wife.

Devon: Yeah, man.

Neil: I don't know what I'd do if I ever lost you.

Mariah: You need to card anyone you even remotely think is underage. Nick is super sensitive about that because of, uh...

Austin: Cassie. Yeah, I know the story.

Mariah: Okay. And what else? Be friendly with the customers, but not too friendly. There's absolutely no flirting.

Austin: Why would I flirt? I'm married.

Mariah: That doesn't stop some people.

Austin: I'm not one of them.

Mariah: What is with the attitude all of a sudden? You were so cool when you came in here earlier. And then you went home and -- and Summer. Let me guess. She heard we were working together and she told you all the horrible things that I've done.

Austin: We talked about you, yeah.

Mariah: It must have been some conversation. She hasn't exactly made it a secret how much she hates me.

Austin: Can you blame her? After what you did, messing with her family, making Sharon think she was insane?

Mariah: Yeah, that was unfortunate.

Austin: That's one word for it.

Mariah: What do you want from me? I told you right from the start that I wasn't a saint, and, by the way, neither are you. Unless, uh, kidnapping and attempted murder are not considered crimes anymore.

Austin: Look, I did not try and shoot and kill the police chief.

Mariah: And I didn't try to drive Sharon insane. But the fact is, our actions had consequences. You had a gun, it went off, and Paul Williams came close to dying, and that is all anyone is going to care about. They'll look at you the same way that they look at me. So if you want to walk around here thinking that you're better than me, guess what? You're not.

Sharon: What happened to you giving Mariah a second chance? Was that all talk just to pacify me?

Nick: Sharon, I hired her. I let her move into our home.

Sharon: But you still don't trust her.

Nick: Well, I'm sorry. I have a hard time trusting people who hurt someone I love.

Sharon: It was Victor who hurt me. Mariah was only hired to play a role, and I know that she feels awful about it. If you doubt that, you should just go and talk to her for a while.

Nick: I agree with you. I think the gas-lighting thing probably went on longer than she expected. But I'm also not completely sold on this idea that she's turned over a new leaf. There's a lot about her we don't know. Plus she has this loyalty to Ian ward.

Sharon: Well, he was like a father to her, so she's going to be loyal to him.

Nick: I'm just saying, I think we need to be cautious with how much we share with her.

Sharon: Great. Now I have no one to turn to. Unless...

Nick: What?

Sharon: There might be someone who could help me sort things out.

Nick: Who?

Sharon: I think I should go to Georgia and visit Phyllis.

If only you'd wake up, Phyllis. There are so many people hoping for that. [Sighs]

Summer: That's just when Austin and I clicked -- talking about our moms and how we lost them.

Victor: But from what I understand, his mother passed away. Yours is very much alive.

Summer: Physically, anyway.

Victor: Have you visited her recently?

Summer: I went to tell her about Austin, and I was hoping that if she heard that I got married, she'd --

Victor: She'd wake up.

Summer: Stupid.

Victor: It's not stupid, sweetheart. It's very loving and very caring.

Summer: I just want to make a difference for mom. It's been a year and there's no change in her condition, and how long can she stay like this? Even if she wakes up, will she even be able to function?

Victor: By the way, has your brother been supportive? Has he helped keep up your spirits?

Summer: Yeah, Daniel has been great. I mean, he goes to see mom whenever he can and he calls and gives me updates. It just makes me feel better knowing that someone is there with her and can make any decisions that need to be made.

Victor: So he has the medical power of attorney.

Summer: Yeah, no, luckily mom handled that before the accident happened.

Victor: Well, I'm glad to hear that. Sweetheart, I need to go. I have an appointment.

Summer: Oh, yeah.

Victor: You enjoy your pearls, okay?

Summer: Thank you. You know, having you on my side is the greatest gift of all.

Victor: I'll always be on your side. All right?

Summer: Thank you. I love you.

Victor: Sweet girl. [Sighs]

Nick: You're gonna go see Phyllis?

Sharon: It's not like I expect her to miraculously come out of it and start answering my questions. I just think maybe seeing her could jar some memories.

Nick: It's an awful lot of trouble on the slight chance you might get something out of it.

Sharon: You're right. It is. Which is why it's so important that I speak with Mariah.

Nick: Sharon.

[Cell phone rings]

Sharon: It's Jack. I have to take this. Um, I appreciate that you're just looking out for me, but Mariah really isn't a threat anymore, so you need to stop treating her like she is one. Hi, Jack.

Nick: Hey, Mariah. Can I talk to you for a second?

Mariah: Yeah, sure. Um, can you go in the back and unload that case of gin?

Austin: Yeah. Yeah.

Mariah: Is there something I can help you with?

Nick: Yeah, there is.

Mariah: Name it.

Nick: Sharon. Look, she's made a ton of progress from the breakdown she's had. But I'm worried that there might be something that's gonna sabotage it. Actually, not something. It's -- it's someone.

Mariah: Wait, you don't -- no, you don't think -- [Scoffs] Why would I do that to Sharon? I feel bad enough having caused her any pain at all. All I want to do is make up for it.

Nick: I know you do, but her trying to make sense of these memories from the time when you were conning her -- I think it might be more than she can handle, and it might set her recovery back, and I don't think you want that, do you?

Mariah: No, of course not. But what makes you think that that is gonna happen? What are you afraid that she's gonna remember?

Nick: All right, it's not that I'm afraid of what Sharon's gonna remember, it's that she's convinced that it's something horrible. Just the mention of the secret she's keeping and she freaks out.

Mariah: And you think it's all a bunch of nothing?

Nick: What I think doesn't matter. But if Sharon keeps stressing out about these missing memories, she could end up in the hospital again, and that was -- look, I just don't want to go through that again, so for my kids' sake and for Sharon's, will you please just not talk to her about this?

Sharon: Bye, Jack. Is everything okay here?

Nick: Yeah, it's cool.

Mariah: Yeah, we were just discussing whether Austin would cut it as a bartender or not.

Nick: Yeah. Uh, do you want to see if he needs a hand?

Mariah: Sure, but Austin is never gonna learn if I'm there with all the answers.

Nick: You're right. He's got to figure some stuff out on his own.

Mariah: Excuse me.

Nick: So what did Jack have to say?

Sharon: Oh, they've rescheduled the photo shoot, and he needs me to go to Chicago to wrangle the models.

Nick: When do you have to leave?

Sharon: Today.

Lily: Okay, great. Thank you, dad. Okay, bye. Good. Devon's fine. Just car trouble.

Abby: Oh, good. What a relief.

Lily: Yes. So now I can focus on you and hot stuff.

Abby: Trevor, and he wasn't so hot. Definitely not my type.

Lily: Aww. Okay, well, then what is your type? Give me a ballpark, all right? Height, weight, muscular, lean.

Abby: I don't know. I'm trying not to be so shallow anymore. I would definitely trade in eight-pack abs for a guy who can string two words together.

Lily: Well, you're in luck, because I have the perfect guy for you. 'Cause not only can he carry on a conversation, but he's good looking and he has lots and lots of money to spend on you.

Abby: Devon.

Lily: You said that he'd be the perfect guy when you're ready to start dating.

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Lily: What? You're not ready yet or something or...

Abby: I am, yeah.

Lily: Then what's the problem?

Abby: Devon's my friend.

Lily: That's great. Friends make great partners. I mean, cane and I, we have a great marriage because we don't keep anything from each other.

Cane: Hey. Hey, hey. I've been trying to reach you and so is Neil. He said that you and Hilary didn't come home last night.

Devon: What did you say to him when you saw him?

Cane: What, are you worried I told him about my suspicions?

Devon: Your suspicions?

Cane: That it was only matter of time before you start sleeping with Hilary.

Devon: Well, that didn't happen, okay? We just got stuck on the side of the road overnight when my car broke down while I was driving her home. Which was a favor that I was doing for Neil in the first place.

Devon: Okay, and you expect me to believe this?

Devon: Well, dude, I don't have a reason to lie to you.

Cane: Listen to me. Even if you've not crossed the line yet, you are still having an affair with this woman.

Devon: I'm not having an affair.

Cane: You're having an emotional affair, which is worse, 'cause this is your father's wife. And I'm telling you this and you have to listen to me carefully. If you don't walk away from this, it's gonna create problems for everybody, especially for you and Neil.

Hilary: Sorry for scaring you. I would have called if I could.

Neil: Yeah, baby, I know you would have. I'm just glad you're okay. You were in good hands, though, so thank goodness for that.

Hilary: Yeah. Devon was very comforting.

Neil: [Chuckles oh, yeah? You two were out there for ages. What'd you do to pass the time till the tow truck arrived?

Hilary: And that's Orion, right there, still chasing them across the sky.

Devon: May I?

Hilary: We, um...talked a bunch, told stories. Took in the night sky. That sort of thing.

Neil: Mm-hmm. Doesn't sound so bad.

Hilary: It wasn't. Not at all.

Sharon: Hey, Summer.

Summer: Hi.

Sharon: Are you here to see Austin?

Summer: Yes. I came to give him some moral support on his first day of work.

Sharon: Well, so far, so good.

Summer: Is my dad giving him a hard time?

Sharon: Nick has been very patient with your husband.

Summer: That's kind of weird.

Sharon: What? That nick's being patient?

Summer: No, to hear you call him my husband. [Chuckles]

Sharon: Well, think about how weird it must be for nick. He still thinks of you as his little super girl. He probably always will.

Summer: You know, part of me will always think of him as my dad.

Sharon: I know that would mean a lot to him.

Summer: You know, I think about everything that's changed in this past year, for all of us.

Sharon: You know, there have been a lot ups and downs, but the good news is everybody got through it and ended up in a better place.

Summer: Yeah. Everyone but my mom. I have no idea what caused her to fall down those stairs, but I wish like anything that that never happened.

Sharon: We all do.

Summer: I'm gonna go say hi to Austin.

Sharon: [Gasps]

Nick: You still here? Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you. I thought you went home to pack.

Sharon: I was just leaving.

Nick: I could go with you. I mean, faith is at camp, and Mariah is here, which means we got the house to ourself for a couple hours.

Victor: That's right. A grant for a promising young artist so that he can show off his talents. Anywhere in the world. Preferably somewhere off the beaten path. Way off the beaten path.

Abby: Please tell me you aren't trying to run Tyler out of town.

Victor: Yes, please get back to me, okay? Thank you. Why would I want to run Tyler out of town?

Abby: Because you probably think it'll make our breakup easier if I don't have to see him all the time.

Victor: Well, wouldn't it?

Abby: [Sighs]

Cane: You can't deny it's getting hard to hide your feelings, and sooner or later, Neil is going to pick up on the dynamic between you and Hilary.

Devon: It's not like I planned on having the damn car break down.

Cane: Okay, but the more time you spend together, it's gonna start raising questions. Do you understand?

Devon: I understand this, yes. Cane, it's not your problem.

Cane: No, it is my problem. It's my problem now because I'm lying to my wife, and I told her I would not do that anymore, and the only reason I'm doing it is to protect you because I care about you and your future.

Lily: Unbelievable.

Neil: I got a great idea since my biz trip to Hong Kong was canceled.

Hilary: Mm-hmm?

Neil: I don't have to go to the office today, which means I think that you and I should spend the rest of the day together. What do you think?

Hilary: Mm, doing what?

Neil: Let me show you what.

Hilary: I'm sorry. I can't do this.

Cane: Listen, sweetheart, what you heard --

Lily: No, please, don't bother. I now exactly what you were doing. You were warning him about the date I'm gonna t him up on.

Devon: Oh, geez. I'm not interested in that.

Lily: Why? You're not seeing anyone and I have the perfect girl for you.

Abby: I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I can't hide from Tyler forever.

Victor: Why not?

Abby: [Laughs] Okay, because that behavior works for some people, but I am going to be more mature from now on, or at least I'm gonna try to be.

Victor: But, you know, being mature doesn't mean that you have to sit by and let someone else get the upper hand.

Abby: I'm not letting anyone get an upper hand. I'm going to just ignore Tyler, and I expect you to do the same. No interference, okay, dad?

Victor: No inference, I promise.

Abby: Dad?

Victor: I just said I wouldn't get involved.

Abby: But you forget one thing. I know you better than that.

Victor: [Laughs] You do, do you?

Abby: Yes. [Chuckles]

Mariah: You forgot the triple sec.

Austin: Damn. Uh, 1/4 of an ounce, was it?

Mariah: Half an ounce.

Austin: All right, sorry. I'll get the hang of it.

Summer: You're doing great.

Austin: [Chuckles] I don't know about that, but thanks, anyway.

Summer: Of course, I think you're great at everything.

Mariah: Excuse me. Austin doesn't have time for a pep rally right now 'cause he has a job to do. And right now, that job is bussing that table.

Austin: On it.

Mariah: Are you trying to get us shut down?

Summer: What?

Mariah: I know for a fact you're underage.

Summer: I'm not here to drink. Mariah: Then move, because that stool is for paying customers.

Summer: Paying customers and the owner's daughter.

Mariah: I thought that you were Jack's daughter? At least, that's the story that I heard, that nick was just pretending to be your dad all these years.

Summer: The only person pretending to be someone else here is you. You might have Sharon fooled with your little apologies, but not me. And not Austin. So don't even try to become his friend, because it's not gonna happen.

Mariah: I hadn't even considered it, but apparently you have, Summer. Why is that? Are you afraid that I'm gonna try to move in on your man? Well, you can relax. I have my eyes on somebody else.

Sharon: Mm. So good.

Nick: This is the best.

Sharon: Mm-hmm. I'm glad you like it. I took a risk and I tried something new.

Nick: Oh. Got a little tired of the old standby, huh?

Sharon: Mm, never. There's a reason I keep going back to it.

Nick: I mean, if faith could see us right now, just chilling, eating ice cream right out of the carton.

Sharon: [Chuckles] Is this the reason why you wanted to have the house all to ourselves? So we could do something that we get on faith about?

Nick: No. What'd you have in mind?

Sharon: Mm. Mnh-mnh. Something.

Nick: Something? Could you be more specific?

Sharon: Mm-hmm. How's that for being specific?

Nick: It's not bad. Probably gonna need some more details.

Sharon: Oh. Well, I think I could give you some of those. Mm!

Nick: Oh, that's a new one.

Sharon: Oh, I wish I could say that was you, but wait a minute.

Nick: What is it, then?

Sharon: What? Oh! It's this.

Nick: There we go. How many times have we talked to faith about this? I mean, I guess some things never change.

Sharon: Like Phyllis.

Nick: What brings that up?

Sharon: Well, I was talking to Summer earlier today, and we were saying how so much has changed over the past year, except for Phyllis's condition.

Nick: Yeah, and the longer it goes... she was just so full of life and bold and lived at like 110% at all times. She was -- I'm sorry. I shouldn't be talking about her like that in front of you.

Sharon: I don't mind.

Nick: Good, 'cause I hope you don't ever doubt my commitment or my love for you.

Sharon: I don't.

Nick: Well, there you go. See? Some things change. Some things for the better. I mean, look at me and Summer. I mean, I didn't think a year ago she would ever forgive me for what I did with that DNA test. But here we are, still in her life, despite the fact that I'm not her father.

Phyllis, I'll be back tomorrow. Maybe there will be some positive news then.

Lily: Don't ever scare us like that again, okay?

Devon: Tell that to my car.

Lily: And don't ever give Hilary rides again, either. Hey. Aw. Is that for me?

Cane: Actually, it's for Abby. I'm helping the wait staff out.

Devon: Here. Let me have that. Thanks. Hey, you.

Abby: Hey.

Devon: Compliments of the house.

Abby: Thank you. You didn't have to do that.

Devon: Well, I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to. I can afford it.

Abby: So can I.

[Both laugh]

Devon: I guess we both have that in our favor, right? We don't have to worry about one of us being after the other's money.

Abby: Definitely a big plus.

Devon: Right?

Abby: Yeah.

Devon: What do you say we get together sometime and we have a couple more of those and maybe go see a movie and have dinner or something?

Abby: Sure.

Devon: Yeah?

Abby: Yeah, why not? Yeah.

Devon: All right.

Abby: Unless you don't want to, 'cause, I mean, I'm sure lily probably talked you into this, and we don't have to do this.

Devon: No, no, no, no. I want to do this. I usually don't have an audience watching me when I ask people out. That's all. It's a little -- it's very subtle, lily.

Abby: She just wants you to be happy.

Devon: I know she does. Now I feel all this pressure to come up with a big one-of-a-kind first date to bowl you both over with.

Abby: Well, hey, why don't we do something simple? Something where no one can be disappointed. We can do it here at the club, maybe a brunch. Stress-free. It's over at a certain time.

Devon: I like that.

Abby: Yeah.

Devon: That sounds fantastic. And we can avoid all the first-date awkwardness at the end of the night, right?

Abby: To kiss or not to kiss?

Devon: That is the question.

Abby: Although there are other questions if it goes terribly wrong, like, "would it be really rude if I jumped out of the car right now?"

[Both laugh]

Devon: Or "do you think she'd mine if I went off to make a phone call and never came back?"

Abby: [Laughs] Exactly.

Lily: See? They're getting along fine. I told you it was a good idea to set them up.

Cane: Yeah, you were actually right for once. Huh? A new woman is exactly what Devon needs.

Neil: Hey.

Hilary: Hey.

Neil: Everything all right?

Hilary: Yeah. I feel so much better after that shower. That's all I could think about. Washing the night away, you know? Now that I have, I have got to get to the office.

Neil: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You're already late. What's another hour? Hmm?

[Cell phone rings]

Neil: Mm, wouldn't you know it?

Hilary: I think that's a sign that we should pick this up later.

Neil: Okay. Love you.

Hilary: Love you.

Neil: Bye. Yeah, I hope this is good news. They did? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's -- that's terrific news. Can't wait to surprise my wife. She's gonna be the happiest lady in the world.

Austin: You are the best wife a guy could ask for. I am blown away that you'd come to help me get through my first day.

Summer: Is there a "but" to this?

Austin: Not exactly, it's just that, um, having someone so incredibly beautiful around...

Summer: Makes it a little distracting?

Austin: To say the least. [Chuckles]

Summer: I've seen you work before.

Austin: Yeah, but that was behind a camera. I knew what I was doing. A cocktail shaker is a whole different story.

Summer: You're gonna pick it up in no time. Okay? I'm sure of it.

Mariah: I am, too. After all, he has an excellent teacher.

Summer: I'm gonna head home, okay?

Austin: Okay.

Summer: Don't be late.

Mariah: Goodbye to you, too.

Austin: Sorry about that.

Mariah: I get where she's coming from. I just wish she would give me a chance.

Austin: I'm not sure that's gonna happen. But that doesn't mean that I shouldn't. I shouldn't have been so judgmental before. Thought it was what Summer would want, and even still, if it wasn't for you, I probably wouldn't have filled out the application for the job.

Mariah: You and I both know the only reason you have this job is because you're married to the boss' daughter. And so nick can keep an eye on you.

Austin: And on you.

Mariah: There are worse things.

Nick: I feel really blessed to have been given a second chance with Summer. And with you. I never thought we'd be in this place again. I thought time would pass us by, but here we are. I guess it was meant to be.

Sharon: You know what? We still have some time before I have to go to Chicago. And I have an idea for how you can spend it.

Nick: I'm having the same idea.

Sharon: Okay, good. [Giggles] Oh, wait, wait! The ice cream.

Nick: Oh, yeah. Of course.

Sharon: [Laughs]

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Victoria: I've decided to not take the DNA test to determine paternity, and I want to know if they can compel me to do it.

Dylan: Why didn't you ever tell me the truth? I don't even know your real name.

Kevin: If any of this came out, the guy's whole future would be toast.
