Episode # 10463 ~ Devon pushes Hilary to admit her feelings; Stitch must come clean with Victoria; Ian's lawyer uses Nikki's past against her.
Provided By Suzanne
Nick: Hey, Mom. It's me. Uh, I'm sorry that I couldn't stay for the rest of the trial, but something came up. And I love you very much and just call and let me know how it went. Bye.
Mariah: You have a cool relationship with your mom.
Nick: Yeah, I do. I just hope she doesn't get too beaten up in court by your friend Ian Ward and this ridiculous lawsuit that he filed against her.
Michael: You say you would have done everything different if you had known that Paul was the father of your child.
Nikki: That's right.
Michael: So you decided to give your baby away because you believed it had been fathered by Ian Ward?
David: Objection!
Nikki: Yes.
David: Leading the witness.
Michael: Withdrawn. Nikki can tell the court in her own words how she came to the decision to put her child up for adoption. Would you please read this passage in your journal?
Nikki: [Clears throat]
Hilary: That was the best action-adventure film I've ever seen.
Neil: Baby, you know what? I think that is the only action-adventure movie you have ever seen.
Hilary: Yeah, maybe.
Mariah: All right, a couple beers?
Hilary: Um, no, just a water for me, please.
Neil: Water, yeah. Make that two waters.
Mariah: Coming up.
Neil: Yeah. Come on. You really don't have to do that just 'cause I'm not drinking.
Hilary: Ohh.
Neil: You can have a cocktail, seeing that you did compromise over the movie.
Hilary: Yeah. Well, I don't mind about either.
Neil: Okay, so, next time, we're gonna see a chick flick -- one that's steamy and French.
Hilary: [Chuckles]
Neil: Right? One that, uh, has a tormented love triangle where the two men fight incessantly over the beautiful, sexy woman.
Victoria: Is what Billy said true?
Billy: Yes, it's true. This guy's not Ben Rayburn.
Victoria: Uh, I don't understand.
Billy: Would you just tell her? Tell her why you stole your dead friend's identity.
Stitch: Okay, will you stop, Billy? Victoria is under enough stress as it is, and you're just making things worse. Now get out of the way. I am taking Vicki to her doctor's appointment.
Billy: You're not taking my wife anywhere, and after you tell her the truth, she's not gonna want to go with you. So go on. Do it.
Kelly: Stop it. Jack, would you please -- would you help? Would you make him stop?
Victoria: Jack, you know about this?
Jack: Either you tell her, Ben, or I will.
Nikki: "I tried to deny it and tell myself it's not possible, but it's true. I have to face it. I'm pregnant." [Voice breaking] "What am I going to do? I have Ian's baby...growing inside of me. The thought of it makes me sick. I know it's my baby, too, but I can't stop thinking this child was created by that monster. I feel the life moving inside me, and I want to die."
Michael: Go on.
Nikki: "This baby is nothing but a horrible reminder of its father and what he did to me. And if I keep this child, I will grow to hate it as much as I hate that vile man, and if he grows up to be anything like his father, facing that evil every day for the rest of my life -- I can't do it. There's no way I can...keep Ian ward's baby once this child is born. I never want to see it again." [Sobbing]
Mariah: You're wrong, you know?
Nick: About?
Mariah: Ian.
Nick: No, I'm not.
Mariah: If you're gonna hate on the guy, you need all the facts.
Nick: Okay, well, then let's have your version of the facts.
Mariah: He's helped a lot of people.
Nick: Including you.
Mariah: He took care of me when nobody else was there for me, and he didn't try to manipulate or control me. He didn't ask for anything in return. There's a side of him that you don't know -- a side that cares.
Nick: Yeah, he cares...about himself.
Mariah: And about me.
Nick: Look, Mariah, I get it. You met him when you were young. You needed a father figure in your life, but you don't need to be hanging around guys like that.
Mariah: Oh, and who should I be hanging out with? Guys like you?
Nick: You could do a lot worse.
Mariah: [Chuckles] Really?
Nick: Yeah. I'm super fun. I'm fairly easy on the eyes, and my personality is legendary.
Mariah: Yeah?
Nick: Yeah. You could do a lot worse.
Neil: What's up?
Devon: You guys playing hooky again?
Neil: Mm. This is as close to a honeymoon as we're gonna get, you know? We decided to play hooky again because the baseball game was rained out yesterday, but we managed to make blue sky and sunshine all afternoon long. Didn't we, baby?
Hilary: [Chuckles]
Devon: That sounds like fun. What are you guys doing to entertain yourselves today?
Hilary: I am actually gonna show Neil a magic trick. [Chuckles]
Devon: I think I'm gonna do some magic and disappear.
Hilary: No, you should stick around, Devon. You might learn something.
Devon: I doubt that.
Hilary: Watch this.
Neil: What is this? This is a magic trick? You got quarters on top of a bottle like that?
Hilary: No, you try and pull the bill out from underneath it without dropping the quarters.
Neil: Okay.
Devon: This should be good.
Neil: Oh, you don't think I can do it?
Devon: Mnh-mnh.
Neil: Okay, you ready? All right. I know there's something to this, so... all right, you ready? Here it goes. Here it goes. Here it goes.
[Coins clatter]
Devon: [Chuckles]
Neil: All right. Okay. All right, Mr. Tough guy. Why don't you try it, all right?
Devon: Stack them up.
Neil: Let me get that quarter. It's got to be around here somewhere.
Jack: What's it gonna be, Ben? Are you gonna fill Victoria in, or am I?
Kelly: You might as well tell her, Ben.
Stitch: I wanted to tell you all this before. I did. I-I-I tried...so many times. But something always got in the way. It was -- it was almost like fate didn't want me to tell you. Or maybe I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Billy: Yeah, I'm gonna go with theory number two.
Jack: Let him talk, Billy.
Victoria: Just tell me the truth. Why would you be pretending to be somebody that you're not?
Stitch: When I was younger, I... I went to jail for killing someone.
Victoria: What?
Jack: Tell her the rest, Ben.
Kelly: Oh, God, isn't that enough?
Jack: Tell her who the victim was.
Stitch: My father.
Victoria: Why?
Stitch: I was a teenager, still living at home. My dad was a mean, abusive drunk. We would get in heated disagreements about grades and curfew and, well... other stuff. On the night he died, he was in his shed...drinking as usual. We got into an argument. It turned ugly, and, uh, we fought. He hit me, and then he passed out. Somehow, a kerosene stove got knocked over. The place went up in flames in about two seconds. It was all I could do to get myself out of there. [Voice breaking] I-I told the cops it was an accident. I did.
Billy: Let me guess -- they didn't believe you.
Kelly: [Sniffles]
Stitch: Nobody did. And the police said they had evidence to prove that I knocked my dad out and then set the fire.
Billy: So you were tried and convicted?
Stitch: I-I didn't want to put my family through a messy trial so -- so I confessed.
Victoria: Did you kill your dad or not, Ben?
Stitch: I wanted him dead. [Sighs] Vicki.
Victoria: All of you stay away from me.
Billy: Vick.
Jack: Whoa, wait, wait, wait. Let her go. Let her go.
Neil: This -- you really think that you can pull this off?
Devon: Would you like to bet?
Neil: How much you want to bet?
Devon: Not money.
Neil: Okay. Not money. How about, I lose, you get my rain-check tickets for the sox game? And the bonus -- you and Hilary can go together. How about that?
Devon: I'm more of a brewers fan.
Neil: Yeah. You are? I'm smelling chicken -- chicken wing. Bock, bock, bock. You want to up the ante a little bit, maybe, huh?
Devon: No, I just don't want you to lose more than you're already going to.
Neil: [Scoffs]
Mariah: What's going on?
Nick: Yeah, what are you doing over here?
Neil: Oh, uh, okay, this young man here thinks that he can grab this dollar bill without spilling these quarters off the bottle.
Nick: No. No way.
Neil: My man.
Mariah: No, no, no. I-I-I think he can do it. Do you want to make this interesting?
Nick: What, you want to bet?
Mariah: Yeah.
Nick: What?
Mariah: Okay, if he can do it, you mop up the floors after closing tonight.
Neil: [Chuckles]
Nick: Ugh. All right. What if he doesn't?
Mariah: Name it.
Nick: Uh, you got to close every single night this week.
Mariah: Ooh. Game on.
Nick: Booked. Let's see it.
Mariah: [Chuckles]
Devon: All right.
Neil: Wait. Drumroll. [Imitates drumroll]
Mariah: Oh! Yes! You lose, sucker. I win nick mops I win nick mops
Nick: I hate mopping. Thanks. Thanks.
Devon: Yeah.
Neil: All right, all right, you two. Okay. This is -- this is very funny. What -- what's up?
Hilary: What do you mean?
Neil: How did you do that? You two must have seen this -- both of you -- somewhere.
Devon: [Clears throat]
Both: Viewclick.
Neil: Okay, um, I'm gonna have to become more familiar with social media to keep up with you two. And in the meantime... [Clears throat] ...Looks like you have won two tickets to a baseball game with my wife.
David: I want to ask you a few questions about your life before you got to new world.
Nikki: All right.
David: Mrs. Newman -- that's your name -- Mrs. Victor Newman.
Nikki: Yes.
David: Is this your first marriage?
Nikki: I've been married a number of times.
David: You can't remember how many?
Michael: Objection, your honor.
David: Withdrawn. Before you were married a number of times, you were a stripper and, before that, an escort.
Michael: I don't hear a question, your honor.
Get on with it, Mr. Sherman.
David: Let's talk about what happened once you were a member of new world. You testified you had a sexual relationship with Ian Ward.
Nikki: Well, he forced me.
David: Yes or no -- were you having sex with him?
Nikki: Yes.
David: And he believed he was the only one you were sleeping with.
Nikki: I really don't know. You'll have to ask him.
David: But that wasn't the case. There was someone else -- someone young and carefree who didn't want to be tied down by a baby any more than you did.
Nikki: No, that's not --
David: So when you got pregnant, you told yourself the baby was Ian's.
Nikki: I thought that it was.
David: And it didn't once cross your mind the baby was Paul Williams'?
Nikki: If I had thought the baby was Paul's, why wouldn't I tell him?
David: Why, indeed? Could you read the passage that I've marked? Thank you.
Nikki: "Paul Williams joined us today. So nice to see a familiar face, especially one as handsome as Paul's."
David: Thank you. Now can you turn to the next page that's flagged and read?
Nikki: [Clears throat] "My feelings for Paul are growing. We kissed tonight. Might have turned to more, but sumiko caught us. I don't know how much longer we'll be able to stay apart. I want to be with Paul more than anything."
David: And you were. You had an affair with Paul Williams at the same time you were sleeping with Ian Ward.
Nikki: No, that's --
Michael: Counsel is putting words in --
David: Mr. Baldwin introduced the journal, your honor. The words are Mrs. Newman's, not mine.
Judge: Overruled. Continue.
David: You and Paul Williams were two young adults having a good time together -- no responsibilities. The last thing either of you wanted was to be saddled with a baby. So, when you got pregnant, you insisted the child you were carrying belonged to a monster so you could justify giving him away.
Nikki: No.
David: It wasn't that you didn't want Ian ward's baby. You didn't want any baby. You claimed Ian was the father of your child for your own selfish reasons.
Nikki: No.
David: You lied back then and said your baby was Ian Ward's...
Michael: Objection!
David: ...And then you lied again...
Michael: Objection!
David: ...So the truth wouldn't come out! You didn't love your baby. You hated it, didn't you?
Michael: Your honor!
David: Mrs. Newman, didn't you?
Nikki: [Voice breaking] No! No, that's not true. [Sniffling] Not true.
Michael: Your honor, counsel is badgering the witness!
David: I am just trying to establish the facts, your honor.
You watch your step, Mr. Sherman.
David: Do you deny you didn't want children, Mrs. Newman?
Nikki: Of course, I deny it. I had two children with my husband.
David: Your extremely wealthy husband. I'm sure a fleet of nannies, housekeepers, and cooks raised those children for you.
Nikki: Actually, no, they didn't. I raised Victoria and Nicholas myself. They were the center of my world when they were young, and they still are.
David: But not Dylan.
Nikki: Dylan just came into my life.
David: Because you gave him away like an unwanted pet or an old, worn-out dress.
Nikki: He was as precious to me as my other children. I-I thought about him every day of my life.
David: But you didn't care for him enough to make him part of your life.
Michael: Your honor!
David: You deprived him. You cheated Dylan out of a chance to be in his mother's life...
Nikki: [Voice breaking] No.
David: ...A chance to be your son.
Nikki: [Sobbing] Oh, my -- you're right. Okay. Yes, I cheated him. I did cheat him. I cheated his father.
Judge: Get to your point, Mr. Sherman -- now!
David: You caused them both emotional distress, just like you did Ian Ward by letting him think he was the father of your son.
Dylan: Hey, that's enough! Leave her alone!
David: Your honor!
Dylan: I'm not gonna let --
Judge: Sit down!
Dylan: Ian's the one who let me think he was my father, not Nikki.
Judge: I said sit down!
Dylan: Can't you see this guy's playing head games, and he's getting sick pleasure from it?!
Nikki: [Sobbing]
Neil: Excuse me. I got to take this call. It's business. Neil winters.
Devon: I should go.
Hilary: No, you can't just keep running off every time we run into each other. Okay, we need to learn to act normal when we're together.
Devon: And what's normal? Pretending like we don't have feelings for each other?
Neil: That's right. No. Okay, bye. Um, I've got some really bad news. There's a labor dispute in one of our garment factories in Hong Kong. I got to go over there and settle it, babe.
Hilary: To Hong Kong? Now?
Neil: Yeah, I would take you with me, but I don't even have time to go home and pack. I'm gonna get whatever I need when I get there, all right? Devon, can you give Hilary a ride home?
Devon: Sure.
Neil: Great. Thanks. I appreciate that. And I will call you, baby, as soon as I land. I promise I'm gonna miss you, and I love you very much.
Both: Mwah!
Neil: Devon.
Devon: Yeah?
Neil: Keep an eye on this beautiful lady for me.
Devon: Mm.
Neil: Bye, baby.
Hilary: Bye.
Neil: Okay.
Nick: Hey, Vick. You okay? Wait, did you hear something about mom's trial?
Victoria: Uh...no. No, I haven't heard anything.
Nick: Is it the baby, then? What's going on?
Victoria: The baby's fine.
Nick: But you're not.
Victoria: [Sighs]
Nick: Here, come sit down. Let me get you some water.
Victoria: I don't want water. Okay? I don't want water. I just want my life back.
Nick: Well, then it's got to be Billy. What'd he do now?
Victoria: He made me face the truth about Ben.
Nick: Yeah, you told him to let up, to stop digging around in Ben's past.
Victoria: All right, he didn't, and now... I just wanted to have a life with Ben. I thought -- I was -- I was kind of hoping that he would be the father and that, you know, we would have a family and that...
Nick: Whatever Billy found, it can't possibly be that bad.
Victoria: I don't know, nick. I don't even know how -- how to find the words to tell you this.
Nick: Vick, what is going on?
Victoria: Ben murdered somebody.
Stitch: You happy now? Are you?
Billy: What -- that Victoria knows the truth? Yeah, you bet.
Stitch: That's all you care about -- making me look bad.
Billy: Bad would be cheating on your taxes. You killed your own father.
Stitch: And you -- you are a selfish bastard. Did you ever think about what it would do to Victoria to tell her that I went to jail for murder? And what about her baby? I could be that kid's father.
Billy: That kid would be better off without you.
Kelly: Oh, God, Billy, would you just stop?
Billy: And you -- you knew what your brother was hiding. You never said a word. Victoria was planning a life with this dangerous jerk, and you were just gonna let it happen.
Kelly: Ben is not dangerous.
Billy: Then why'd you tell his first wife that he was? And why did she drag their son halfway across the world?
Kelly: Because --
Billy: Save it. I know why. Because she didn't want to have to explain to little max why daddy killed grandpa.
Stitch: You son of a --
Jack: We're not gonna do this.
Billy: Come on!
Jack: Hold on. Come on. Come on. You're gonna calm down.
Kelly: Shh! Shh! Hey, hey. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.
Jack: Come on.
Billy: Get off me, Jack.
Jack: Calm down. I am trying to keep you out of trouble?
Billy: 'Cause it seems like keeping me in the dark is your specialty.
Jack: Billy.
Billy: You knew about this. You knew. And you didn't tell me. How could you do that?
Hilary: You don't have to drive me home, all right? I'm gonna call a cab.
Devon: How are you gonna explain that to Neil?
Hilary: He doesn't have to know.
Devon: Right. What's one more lie? You said we should try and act normal. Let's give it a shot. Let's be normal.
Hilary: [Sighs] Okay.
Devon: Okay.
Nick: I'm so sorry. I don't even know what to say.
Victoria: "How could you be so stupid, Victoria?" That seems appropriate.
Nick: No. No, no, no. He fooled us all.
Victoria: He didn't fool Billy. What am I supposed to do, nick?
Nick: What do you want to do?
Victoria: I want to do what's best for the baby...but I don't know what that is.
Nick: Well, I don't know if I'm the right person to give you advice on this.
Victoria: It's just the thought of my child growing up with a -- with a murderer for a father...
Nick: All right, well, I can understand you not wanting to tell Ben if the baby's his. But what if it were Billy's? Would you lie to him, too?
Jack: Billy, I'm sorry.
Billy: Wow, that's the best you can do, Jack? I mean, you've had plenty of time to think about this.
Jack: I don't know what else to say.
Billy: Last night at dinner, you said, "I learned something troubling," and I asked you point-blank if that had anything to do with stitch.
Jack: I wanted to tell you.
Billy: But you didn't.
Jack: I couldn't.
Billy: Why the hell not?
Jack: Kelly had confided in me a horrible family tragedy. I didn't want to -- I couldn't betray her trust.
Billy: But you could betray mine? Is that it? I'm your brother, Jack. I'm your blood.
Jack: Try to understand -- I was in an impossible situation.
Billy: Impossible?! You let that murderer get close to my family, to Johnny. After everything that happened with Delia...
Jack: I was looking for ways to tell you. I didn't want anyone to be hurt.
Billy: Tell that to Victoria.
Kelly: That won't help.
Stitch: If you cared about helping, you wouldn't have told Jack what happened.
Kelly: I told you I wouldn't lie to him.
Stitch: Well, let's hear it for honesty.
Kelly: You know, maybe you can build a life on lies, Ben, but I can't.
Stitch: Thanks to you, I can't build one at all, at least not with Victoria.
Kelly: You know, you really don't get to blame me for that.
Stitch: I had a good life here, Kelly. People respected me. I was gonna become chief resident at the hospital, start a family with Victoria. Now -- now I'm gonna be known as the guy who killed his old man.
Kelly: You did kill dad.
Stitch: And I paid for it when I went to juvie and again when Jenna took max away. And now I'm paying for it yet again.
Kelly: [Sniffles] Ben, come on.
Stitch: All right, you know what? You can't fix this... but I can.
Dylan: Ian ward's the one you should be going after.
Judge: I am not gonna warn you again.
Dylan: You can't let him attack her!
Judge: I will hold you in contempt of court!
Paul: You can't do this! Get out of here.
Nikki: [Sobbing]
David: I'm finished with this witness, your honor.
Judge: We'll take a 10-minute recess, then begin closing arguments.
Ian: You know, he really should see someone about his anger-management issues.
Avery: Save your phony concern, Ian.
Ian: I'm still very interested in Dylan's well-being.
Avery: The only thing you're interested in is tormenting good, decent people.
Victor: Nothing to apologize for, okay?
Nikki: [Sniffles]
Victor: Come on. Sit down and rest.
Nikki: [Sobs]
Victor: Come on.
Nikki: [Sighs]
Victor: Come sit down and rest, okay?
Nikki: My purse is here.
Victor: Okay. You make this right...now.
Paul: No, no, no. Don't.
Dylan: I'm not gonna let Ian Ward get away with this.
Paul: You hear the judge? He's not kidding. He will cite you for contempt.
Dylan: Then what? You're gonna arrest me? Throw me in jail?
Paul: You may be my son, but I'm still the chief of police. Don't be stupid.
Dylan: Paul, please, just get out of my way.
Paul: Dylan, I understand how difficult it is for you to hear what was said in that courtroom.
Dylan: I don't care what anyone says about me. I won't let them hurt Nikki.
Paul: I don't want to see her hurt either.
Dylan: Then how can you let him get away with that crap?!
Michael: Mr. Sherman tried to convince you that Nikki Newman is a heartless woman who lied about the father of her baby so she could justify giving it up. He would have you believe that putting her son up for adoption was a selfish and calculated move on her part, when nothing could be further from the truth. She could have ended her pregnancy or abandoned her infant like so many women you hear about, but she brought that baby into the world, and she made sure he was safe and well cared for. You heard Mrs. Newman say that a day didn't go by when she didn't think about the baby she'd given up. Years later, when her secret could have remained buried forever, she went to look for that child, knowing what it could cost her. Do those sound like the actions of a selfish person? Nikki Newman understandably believed that Ian Ward was her child's father. He's claiming that her honest mistake caused him emotional distress, and the irony of it is that he has caused her a lifetime of emotional distress, up till this very day.
Judge: Thank you, Mr. Baldwin. I will review the court transcripts and then render my decision. Court is adjourned.
Paul: I hate what's happening in there, too, but you know as well as I do sometimes life isn't fair. You just have to deal with it.
Dylan: That's what my dad used to say.
Paul: Sounds like a good guy. I wish I would have known him.
Ian: Well, it's in the judge's hands now. You know, Nikki was determined to keep you two apart from the beginning. I only hope, when this is over, you have a chance to know each other.
Avery: Hey. Ready to go?
Dylan: Oh, yeah.
Paul: All right, we'll, uh -- we'll see you back here for the judge's decision.
Dylan: Okay. Paul. Just so you know, Ian's lawyer was wrong. I-I had a good life with the McAvoys. I wasn't deprived.
Paul: I was. I missed having you in my life. I will always regret that.
Victoria: How many times has Billy lied to me?
Nick: I lost track. You don't owe him anything, Vick -- or stitch.
Victoria: What about this baby? I mean, don't I owe this baby the truth? Look at what happened with Summer.
Nick: What I did was selfish. You're trying to protect your child.
Victoria: I'm just not sure that lying is the way to do that, nick. There's been so many lies already. Done nothing but cause people pain, you know?
Nick: Whatever you decide, you know I'm there.
Victoria: Thank you. I better go.
Nick: Where you going? I'll go with you.
Victoria: No, it's okay. You know what? I just -- I want to be alone for a little while. Thanks.
Nick: If you need anything, call me, okay?
Victoria: Okay. Thank you.
Jack: If I hadn't forced Ben to tell Victoria the truth, Billy would have told her. Wasn't it better that she heard from your brother?
Kelly: I think it would have been better if you'd kept your promise to me.
Billy: You're really gonna blame Jack for this? You've known for months that a murderer was hanging out with my wife and kid, and you didn't say anything?
Jack: Billy, listen --
Billy: No, Jack. I have a right to know. You protected your ex-sister-in-law and your nephew but not my family. Why was that, Kelly?
Kelly: Billy.
Billy: Was it a payback? Were you pissed that I picked Victoria over you? Is that why you put their lives at risk?
Jack: Okay, that's enough. I know you're upset. You're out of line now.
Billy: Go to hell -- both of you.
Jack: [Sighs]
Hilary: This isn't the way home.
Devon: I know. We're taking the scenic route.
Hilary: We're supposed to be acting normal, remember?
Devon: Have you ever been in a car like this before?
Hilary: Not like this, no.
Devon: Then how do you know what's normal for this car? 'Cause, normally, if I got to ride in a car like this, I'd want to take it out of the city and see what it can do, you know?
Hilary: Are you really trying to show off your car right now?
Devon: No, I'm just trying to drive you home. This wasn't my idea.
Hilary: Well, it wasn't mine either.
Devon: I don't understand you at all. I don't know how one minute you can be making out with me, and then the next, you're having sex with my dad in the car.
Hilary: He's my husband.
Devon: And you think just 'cause you have that ring on your finger you can pretend there's nothing going on between us?
Hilary: What do you want from me, Devon? I married Neil. I love him. Why can't you just accept that?
Devon: Do you really want me to answer that question?
Hilary: Yes. I want you to tell me why you can't accept that I want to be with Neil.
Devon: 'Cause I don't believe you.
Hilary: Oh, my God.
Devon: Hilary, listen. I get it. I understand that you don't want to hurt Neil, 'cause I don't want to do that either. But don't you think that lying to him is hurting him?
Hilary: Just take me home.
Devon: I'm truly curious to how long you're gonna go on with this. I mean, are you -- are you planning on wasting your life away on a man that you don't love?
Hilary: What do you want me to say, Devon? That I have feelings for you? Okay, fine. I have feelings for you. But it doesn't matter. I told you I made my choice. Now please just...take me home.
Devon: Fine.
[Engine sputters]
[Engine sputters]
Devon: [Sighs]
Kelly: It was a mistake getting involved with either one of you.
Jack: Hey, I'm the one who should be angry here. You should never have asked me to keep your brother's secret.
Kelly: Well, I thought, Jack, I could trust you. Apparently not.
Jack: I should have told Billy about Ben's past the moment I found out about it. I didn't. I stayed silent, and I hurt my own brother. I did it for one reason and one reason only.
Kelly: Oh, really? What's that?
Jack: Because I love you, damn it.
Dylan: I hope I didn't mess things up for you in there.
Nikki: I don't know how you can defend me after hearing...
Dylan: You wrote that stuff in your journal a long time ago. You were young, and you were scared.
Nikki: It still had to hurt.
Dylan: It's okay. Just forget it. I guess I'll see you later.
Victor: All right.
Nikki: Dylan. Thank you.
Victor: Let's get you home, my sweetheart.
Nikki: I never wanted him to hear those words.
Victor: But you heard him. He understood.
Nikki: Paul doesn't. He blames me for taking away his son.
Victor: Baby.
Paul: You know, I think the universe is trying to tell me something.
Christine: What do you mean?
Paul: Well... [Sighs] ...I didn't step up when April told me that she was pregnant with heather. And I've -- I've screwed up with Ricky. And maybe that's why I was... never able to be a father to Dylan, because I didn't deserve to be.
Christine: You know what I think? I think you need to get away... from everything. We -- we both do.
Paul: Chris, I --
Christine: No, no, Paul, we need this. Okay? So I rented a cabin on the lake. It will be like the honeymoon we never had.
Paul: [Sighs] That sounds really nice, but --
Christine: And I-I know you're worried about Dylan and how things are gonna work out...
Paul: It's not just Dylan. It's Nikki. It's the trial. It's the whole thing. It's -- it's just not a good time right now.
Christine: Okay, but Nikki has proven that she is capable of taking care of herself.
Paul: You saw her in court today.
Christine: Yeah, and so did you. Look, you have to wonder why she never told you about the pregnancy. And if she considered you a friend...why didn't she confide in you?
Ian: Yeah. It's kind of you to call, hon.
Mariah: I wanted to know how things went in court today. Did you get your hands on some Newman cash? You deserve it.
Ian: Well, you're probably the only person in the world who feels that way -- you and possibly the judge.
Mariah: That sounds promising.
Ian: Yeah, it looks good. But even if it doesn't work out the way I hope, this lawsuit isn't the only thing I've got going for me.
Mariah: Well, good luck. Uh, let me know how things turn out. What can I get for you?
Billy: Uh, scotch. A double.
Mariah: Oh. Was it a rough day?
Billy: Best day I've had in a long time. I'm celebrating.
Nick: You really think what happened today is cause for celebration? Victoria's a wreck about all this.
Billy: I hate what she's going through, but I don't feel at all bad about exposing Rayburn.
Nick: Vicki's disillusioned about what's going on with Ben. Doesn't mean she's taking you back.
[Doorbell rings]
Stitch: Victoria, I know you're there. Open the door. There is so much more I need to tell you. Please, Victoria? I love you. And you love me, too. I know you do.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Stitch: I'm not Ben Rayburn.
Dylan: What?
Nick: Billy, you are still the same guy who has hurt my sister over and over again.
Victoria: There's something else about the test.
Dr. Sternin: What's that?
Victoria: I need to control the outcome.
