Kelly: If you do this, Jack, you're not just gonna hurt Summer. You're gonna
end up hurting yourself. Forget about calling Christine. Just go to the chapel
and walk your daughter down the aisle. If you don't, you will regret it. A girl
never forgets what it feels like to not have her father there.
Jack: I already regret this entire deplorable situation.
Kelly: I understand that.
Jack: If you did, you wouldn't be asking me to support this farce of a marriage.
Kelly: I'm not asking you to support the marriage. I'm asking you to support
your daughter.
Jack: The support Summer needs right now is to get her out of this situation by
any means necessary.
Kelly: If you have your daughter arrested, you will completely alienate that
young girl. Then, if the marriage doesn't work out, you won't be able to help
her. I mean, don't you see? You and Summer will be estranged when she needs her
father the most.
Jack: "If the marriage doesn't work out"? It's not a question of "if." It's a
matter of "when."
Kelly: I understand that. All the more reason to go through the motions and keep
the relationship intact.
Jack: So, you're suggesting I go to the chapel and tell Summer, "I was wrong.
You haven't just made the biggest mistake of your life."
Kelly: I'm done giving advice. She's your daughter. What you do is completely up
to you. But the wedding is starting soon. You're gonna have to decide.
Summer: What's wrong? You're not feeling well? Sharon?
Summer: You know, I'm gonna go get you some water.
Sharon: No, no, no. That's okay. Um, I'm fine.
Summer: Are you sure? You don't look okay.
Sharon: You were right about this color -- creamy nude. It's just too neutral.
With a white dress, you want the color to pop, like the one you have on --
that's perfect.
Summer: Okay, um, I just want to look pretty for Austin today.
Sharon: [Sighs] Pretty? You look radiant. No bride was ever lovelier. So, come
on. Let's just finish getting you ready for your special day.
Summer: Okay.
Austin: Hey.
Noah: Austin. How's it going?
Austin: Great. I'm so glad you guys decided to show.
Courtney: It's important to Summer.
Austin: It'll mean the world to her, even if you're the only two who came.
Nick: Not quite.
Lily: Devon, we have to talk about this.
Devon: Why?
Lily: Because you're talking about leaving town, that's why.
Devon: I got nothing going on here.
Lily: Oh, wow. Thank you very much.
Devon: You know I'm not talking about you and the twins. I think it's time to
move on.
Lily: To where? Where is this even coming from?
Devon: I don't know, Lily. I just want a change of scenery.
Cane: You know, maybe it's not such a bad idea. You know, you haven't been
yourself lately, and, you know, a change of scenery might do you some good.
Lily: Uh, let's not encourage him, please.
Devon: It's kind of nice having someone on my side.
Abby: Oh. You guys look cozy.
Cane: Hey.
Lily: Hey.
Abby: Must be nice having a family with sane people in it.
Lily: Uh-oh. What's going on?
Abby: Summer married -- yes, you heard me right -- married Austin Travers.
Lily: Are you serious?
Abby: Mm-hmm.
Devon: After what he did to her aunt Avery?
Cane: Not to mention Paul.
Lily: I mean, I know that she ran away with the guy after the shooting, but
marriage?
Abby: I haven't even told you the best part yet. The first time, they eloped --
a civil ceremony. But today, they are having an actual wedding in a church to
prove how real their love is.
Devon: You got to be kidding me.
Abby: Ugh. I wish I were. I can't believe how messed up this is.
Cane: I'm sorry. I see how upset you are about this.
Lily: Well, I know it doesn't help, but a lot of people are making very bad
choices in mates these days.
Devon: Yeah, but the heart wants what it wants, even if 's the wrong person for
you.
Neil: Hey! Hilary.
Hilary: Hey.
Neil: I thought you were at the office.
Hilary: Oh, I'm just out running a few errands. What are you doing here?
Neil: I, uh, a business meeting. Big deal in the works.
Hilary: Mm.
Neil: Anyway, I don't want to keep you.
Hilary: Keep me? If I didn't know better, I'd think you were trying to get rid
of me.
Neil: [Chuckles]
Hilary: What are you up to?
Neil: I wish I was up to something.
Hilary: Suspicious. I'm watching you.
Neil: Yeah?
Hilary: Mm-hmm. Okay. Later.
Neil: Bye, baby.
Abby: It sounds like you still haven't gotten over that woman you told me about,
huh?
Lily: No. Devon's been moping around ever since he broke things off with
Esmerelda.
Devon: You're crazy.
Abby: You throw wads of cash off a rooftop and she's the crazy one?
Lily: Thank you.
Devon: No one ever proved that that was me.
Cane: All right. Hang on. Hang on. No one else has that kind of money that they
can just literally just throw away.
Lily: Yeah.
Cane: Okay?
Devon: I figure that someone else ought to be happy.
Abby: It looks like you succeeded the way those people were chasing those
Benjamins around like they were --
Devon: Hundred-dollar bills?
Abby: Exactly. [Chuckles]
Devon: [Chuckles] They were that's why.
Abby: You're crazy.
[Laughter]
Lily: He is crazy.
Neil: Hey. Little change of plans. I want you to meet me upstairs on the roof by
the pool. I don't want my wife to know what we're up to, okay?
Austin: For you to be here with Faith -- that's gonna mean the world to Summer.
Nick: Don't make the mistake of thinking I think this is a good idea, because I
don't. I also don't think you're right for her. But I'm here for Summer.
Austin: Well, for now, that's enough.
Noah: So, do Victor and Nikki know what's happening?
Nick: Are you kidding me? Dad would hit the roof if he found out about this. We
don't need a big scene here.
Noah: What, grandpa showing up with his own private army to stop the wedding?
Nick: I also don't want Mom under any more stress than she already is.
Noah: Makes sense.
Nick: It's better just to tell them both after the fact. Trust me.
Sharon: Okay. Austin's here.
Summer: Okay.
Sharon: So, you don't want to go in there yet or, you know, he'll see you in
your dress before the ceremony. You don't want that.
Summer: Because it's bad luck? I mean, really, what else could go wrong at this
point? Technically, we're already married.
Sharon: Yeah, true, but you said you wanted a more traditional wedding, so let's
just stick with tradition.
Summer: Thank you. You've been really sweet to me and helping me get ready and
everything since my mom can't. I really appreciate it.
Sharon: You're so welcome. And you don't even know about the best thing I did
for you today.
Summer: What? Dad.
Sharon: I'll give you two a minute alone.
Nick: Look at you. You just look amazing.
Summer: I wasn't expecting to see you today.
Nick: There's so many things I want to say to you right now. But just know that
I had to be here for you. You're my girl.
Summer: Your Supergirl.
Nick: Yeah. You have any idea how many times I've imagined this moment?
Summer: [Chuckles] Yeah, bet it wasn't like this.
Nick: No, not exactly. But ever since you were a little girl, I've dreamed of
walking you down that aisle. [Voice breaking] I didn't get the chance with
Cassie. And for a lot of reasons, I didn't think I'd get the chance with you,
either. But if you would like to be on my arm today, I would just love to walk
you down that aisle.
Summer: That's a really nice offer.
Nick: I know it's not the same as it would be with Jack.
Summer: I'd be happy for you to do the honors.
Jack: I was so sure I had the answer to this whole situation. Now you're saying
I don't.
Kelly: Not if you want to stay close to your daughter at a critical time.
[Knock on door]
Jack: Come in. Detective Harding. What brings you by?
Harding: Well, I had an update. The D.A. wants to move on the fraud case against
Summer. We're gonna have a warrant for her arrest later today.
Jack: So soon?
Harding: Isn't that what you wanted?
Jack: Uh, sure.
Harding: Well, the D.A. wants to move on this as badly as you do. Travers trying
to dodge the law with this fake marriage is not sitting too well with him. I got
to tell you, Mr. Abbott, for you to take the position you have with your
daughter -- that can't be easy. I admire your guts. So do all the other guys
down at the precinct. As far as we're concerned, you're a hero.
Kelly: It's not too late to change your mind.
Realtor: That second listing's just had a major price reduction.
Neil: That's nice. That's a beautiful house, but, uh -- and I also -- I
appreciate you coming up with some options for me to consider, but the original
house that you showed me -- this one right here. Now this one -- that's the one
I'm interested in.
Realtor: You realize that's a bit of a fixer-upper? All the value's in the land.
Neil: It doesn't matter. A fixer-upper, tear-down, as long as I get the right
builder, I'm gonna be able to restore this home to its former glory. I like the
look of it, at least on the outside.
Realtor: It's a killer location -- 300 feet of private beach.
Neil: Yes, it is. And that is why it's my favorite. Listen, my wife -- she
described to me her perfect dream home. And this one is it, right down to the
picket fence and the lake she can swim in.
Realtor: I'll contact the owners and get back to you.
Neil: Okay, thanks. Appreciate that. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed.
Lily: Oh. Back so soon. What's it gonna take to keep you away?
Hilary: Oh, Lily, as much as I love not running into you, the hotel laundry
called and said that my clothes were ready, so I'm here to pick them up.
Lily: Wow. Wasn't that nice of us -- taking such good care of Hilary and her
things.
Devon: Well, it's the least we could do after the way you acted.
Abby: What did I miss?
Hilary: Oh, Lily pushed me into the pool upstairs fully dressed.
Abby: Lily, you didn't.
Lily: It was an accident.
Hilary: Like hell.
Lily: Actually, it was a really funny accident. You should have been there.
Cane: Well, your dad didn't think it was so funny.
Devon: Neither did I.
Cane: Okay, so, let's just agree it was unfortunate and it's not gonna happen
again.
Lily: You know what? You're right. I'm being childish. I will go get your
things. Excuse me.
Cane: Well, hopefully that's gonna be the end of that.
Hilary: Are you joking? That was way too easy.
Devon: Yeah. Lily's up to something. The only question is how bad.
Sharon: I'm so glad you're here to support Summer.
Noah: Yeah, well, I wanted Summer to know that I'll be there for her no matter
what.
Courtney: And sometimes being a friend means doing things you really, really
don't want to do.
Noah: You didn't want to get all dressed up, sit next to me, hold my hand?
Courtney: When you put it like that, I guess I'm glad to be here.
Sharon: Okay. Easy, you two. You don't want to appear more adorable than the
couple getting married. I think you're both wonderful for being here. And you
are even more wonderful.
[Door opens]
Austin: Reverend, thank you for doing this on such short notice.
Reverend: I'm happy to help. I'm ready to begin whenever you are.
Austin: Well, now's as good a time as any. Uh, Courtney, could you grab the
music?
Courtney: Sure.
Austin: Thank you.
[Processional music plays]
Nick: All right. You ready?
Summer: Yeah. Let's do this.
Faith: You need flowers 'cause this is a real wedding.
Summer: Oh. You're right. I do. You know, that means that I need a flower girl,
too. You wouldn't happen to be available, would you?
Nick: Ooh, think you can handle it, kid?
Faith: Yeah.
Summer: Okay. Here. [Chuckles] Okay.
[Camera shutter clicking]
Austin: Mr. Abbott.
Devon: Maybe I should go after Lily and make sure she's not doing anything.
Cane: Just give her a chance to make things right.
Devon: You really think she dropped her bad attitude that quick?
Cane: You saw the look on her face when I said her dad was upset. It's okay.
Hilary: If Lily cared about Neil's feelings, she wouldn't have assaulted me the
other day.
Cane: [Sighs]
Abby: Assaulted? Please.
Hilary: Lily shoved me from behind into the deep end of a concrete swimming pool
without knowing if I was allergic to chlorine, or whether or not I knew how to
swim, which is a little difficult to do in business attire and high heels. I
could have had her arrested. But I chose to take the high road -- something Lily
knows nothing about.
Devon: Which is why I think I should go see if she's taking a razor to your
clothes or something.
[Cell phone beeps]
Cane: Uh, look, I'm needed upstairs, okay? Um, I don't think you have anything
to worry about, and you -- just do what you got to do.
Hilary: Five minutes. If Lily's not back with my things...
Devon: Clock's ticking. I know.
Abby: So... um... congratulations on your marriage.
Hilary: Thank you.
Abby: Neil's a great guy.
Hilary: Yeah, he is.
Abby: When I saw the wedding announcement, I was blown away. Although I have
given up trying to predict what people are gonna do when it comes to getting
married. But you and Neil -- I'm sure you have a much better shot at making it
work than Summer does with that awful felon.
Hilary: What an apt comparison.
Abby: I didn't mean --
Hilary: Yeah, I'm sure you didn't.
Abby: [Sighs]
Lily: Hilary, I'm so sorry, but the laundry seems to have lost your things.
Hilary: Yeah, right.
Devon: Oh, this is ridiculous. It was good to see you, Abby.
Abby: Good to see you.
Lily: Excuse me. Where are you going?
Devon: I'm gonna go find Hilary's clothes.
Hilary: I'll help you look.
Lily: There he goes, taking her side again.
Nikki: My sweet Katherine. Oh, my God. It seems like just yesterday that we were in the club having lunch. I haven't seen you in over a year. How is that possible? How did the time pass so quickly? I came here 'cause I want to feel close to you. [Crying] I really need you, Katherine... so much.
Summer: What are you doing here?
Jack: I couldn't stay away. I still feel the same way about this marriage, but
I'm not here to interrupt a wedding.
Summer: Then why are you here? Are there cops in the lobby waiting with
handcuffs?
Jack: No, I asked them not to arrest you. I didn't want to be that kind of
father.
Summer: Thank you, Jack.
Jack: I don't know what I was thinking. I should never have threatened that.
Summer: Look, I know that it's really hard to accept that Austin and I want to
be together, but I'm really grateful that you're trying. And, I'm really happy
that you came to our wedding.
Jack: I'd like to be here as more than just a guest. I'd love the chance to help
walk you down the aisle.
[Camera shutter clicking]
[Camera shutter clicks]
Summer: Thank you.
Attendant: Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of God to
witness something truly unusual. A young couple, already legally joined in
marriage, with a commitment so strong and a love so abiding they are now seeking
to become one in the eyes of our Lord, as well as with those who love them here
on earth. Let us pray. Oh, mighty God, heavenly Father, we lift up our hearts to
you. We praise you for the gift of marriage in which the love of a husband and
wife reveals your purposes of love in the world. We thank you today for Austin
and Summer, for leading them to each other in friendship and love, in fidelity
and trust, and for bringing them here for the blessing of their marriage. May
their lives from this day forward be a witness to your saving love in this
troubled world. And as you blessed the earthly home at Nazareth with the
presence of your only son, may their home here together be a place of peace and
security. We ask you this through you, our Lord, amen.
Both: Amen.
All: Amen.
Summer and Austin have written their own vows, which they want to express before
God and with all of you who are here to share in their joy today.
Nikki: Sometimes I feel like I just don't have a friend in the world. I mean, I know that I do, but... [Crying] Not really anybody I can really talk to. "Feelings aren't facts, Nikki." You used to say that to me all the time. Well, here's a fact for you -- nothing has been the same since you sent me on my journey for my son. And I'm so grateful that you did. I mean, it needed to happen, but... [Sighs] I've made such a mess of everything with Victor and Paul and Dylan. How could I have been such an idiot for just assuming that the baby was Ian's? Why did it not even occur to me that it could be Paul's? I was just so naive, so gullible. I believed all of Ian's terrible lies. [Sighs] And now Paul is in the hospital waiting to see if he's gonna be okay and trying to come to terms with the fact that he has a son. [Sniffles] And Victor. He is being as supportive as he is capable of being. Poor Dylan. God, I have turned his life upside down a few times now... [Sighs] all because of my stupid decisions. If I were them, I would hate me. I've caused them nothing but pain. And it's not over yet, Katherine. But I'm trying really, really, hard to be strong. God help me. Katherine, I almost took a drink today. [Sobbing]
Hilary: It is stifling in here.
Devon: What did you expect? It's the laundry room.
Hilary: Lily probably ripped the tags off of my clothes and shoved them in some
random rack.
Devon: Well, let's keep looking.
Cane: You looking at houses?
Neil: Hey, hey. Shh, shh, shh. Cane, come on. This is top secret, okay? Hilary's
dream house. And mine. It’s gonna be a wedding present for the both of us.
Cane: That's a huge house, Neil. It looks like an estate.
Neil: Yeah, it sure is. 10 acres, it's on a lake, beach front. Backs up to a
nature preserve. It needs a little bit of work, a little TLC, but it's a sweet
location. I just put in an offer. Hoping to hear some good news very soon.
Cane: You know, Neil, maybe this isn't the best idea.
Abby: First Neil and now Devon. Look, I get that Hilary's a gorgeous girl, but
how do two intelligent men get taken by a conniving skank like that?
Lily: I don't know. It's a mystery.
Abby: You must be ready to tear your hair out.
Lily: I mean, my dad's on the rebound from Leslie, so that I understand. But
Devon. I think he's just being nice.
Abby: That is a character flaw, but hopefully he will come to his senses soon
enough.
Lily: But I couldn't help noticing how well you two were getting along. Which
makes sense, given how much you have in common.
Abby: Yeah -- loving families, broken hearts, a gazillion dollars.
Lily: Exactly. [Chuckles] So why don't you guys go out on a date sometime, see
if you could be more than friends?
Abby: A date?
Lily: Yeah. Why not?
Abby: I don't know, we've just been friends for so long.
Lily: Oh, give me a break. You can do better than that.
Abby: Lily... [Scoffs] Tyler and I were engaged. We broke up not that long ago.
Lily: Okay, okay, okay. So you're not ready to start dating yet, but if you
were?
Abby: But if I were, Devon's a really great guy.
Hilary: Why don't you just look over there? I will keep looking here. Okay? I
just want to find my clothes and get out of here.
Devon: Are you worried about being this close to me?
Hilary: I'm worried I'm gonna pass out.
Devon: [Chuckles]
Hilary: Devon, I told you that this has to stop.
Devon: I know that, and I'm sorry.
Hilary: Then why do you keep putting us in this situation? You could have had a
maid help me in the room when I was soaking wet from the pool. You could have
had a bellhop or somebody from the front desk help me in here. I don't need all
this personal attention from the owner.
Devon: I was just trying to make things right. But you don't have to worry about
that happening again because I'm leaving town for good.
Neil: So, why is buying this house a bad idea?
Cane: Well, it's an awfully big surprise to spring on somebody. You know,
especially if you don't know if it's what they want.
Neil: This is exactly what she wants.
Cane: Are you sure?
Neil: She described to me her perfect dream house, and that included a big yard
and a big lake that she can swim in. I'm telling you -- this is the house.
Cane: Okay. Are you sure this is what you want, though?
Neil: Oh, come on. I've been in that condo since biblical times. I'm overdo for
a change, wouldn't you say?
Cane: Okay. Look, as long as you're doing it for the right reasons.
Neil: I deserve an upgrade in my life. How's that for a right reason? I've been
making my own decisions for most of my life. This house -- it's a fresh start
for Hilary and me. And real talk -- I'm a little offended that you would suggest
otherwise.
Austin: Summer, you are my world, my everything. For so long, I felt empty. I
had nothing and no one. I thought that would never change. I was bitter and
vengeful and filled with hate. But in the middle of that loneliness and rage and
chaos, there you were, like a ray of sunlight. I never thought I would feel that
way for anyone or that anyone would understand me in that way. You have the
biggest heart I've ever known. You're beautiful and smart and incredibly strong.
I love you, Summer. That's forever, no matter what the future brings.
Summer: You've changed my world forever, Austin. And maybe it was the people
that we lost that brought us together in the most unexpected way, but when I
look at you, all I see is what I've found. And I found someone who doesn't try
to change me, who loves me for me, who makes me feel like I'm at home wherever
we are, someone who fills me with hope, even when nobody else thinks that
there's a reason to have hope. I thought that I knew what love was before I met
you, but I had no clue. I love you with all of my heart. And I cannot wait to
share the rest of my life with you.
Attendant: Austin, will you take this woman to be your wife, to love, honor, and
comfort her, and forsaking all others, keep only unto her as long as you both
shall live?
Austin: I will.
Attendant: Summer, will you take this man to be your husband, to love, honor,
and comfort him, and forsaking all others, keeping only unto him as long as you
both shall live?
Summer: I will.
Attendant: Do you have a ring?
Austin: We both do.
Attendant: Austin, repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed.
Austin: With this ring, I thee wed.
Attendant: Summer, repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed.
Summer: With this ring, I thee wed.
Attendant: As Summer and Austin have consented in holy matrimony together and
have witnessed the same before this company and have pledged their faith to each
other with the giving and receiving of rings, I now pronounce them husband and
wife. What God hath joined together let no one put asunder. Austin, you may kiss
your bride.
Nikki: Thanks for listening, Katherine. It helped. It really did. I just had a bad moment today in that office with those liquor bottles. Now that I've gotten it off my chest, I feel better. I really do. And I can see the look on your face. [Chuckles, sniffles] But I am here to tell you that everything will be fine. You know me. I'll work everything out. I'm fine. And I'm going to stay fine. Love you.
Hilary: You're leaving?
Devon: Yeah.
Hilary: Where are you going?
Devon: I don't know where I'm going. Just far away from here.
Hilary: Are you leaving because of me?
Devon: [Sighs] Hey, is this yours?
Hilary: Don't go. Please. Don't go.
Cane: You and Hilary went from dating to getting married in record time, so I
don't see the rush in moving into a new place when you barely had a chance to
settle into the old one.
Neil: You wondered, out loud, if she was ready to marry me. Now, you're actually
arguing with me about the validity of us buying a home together.
Cane: I'm not arguing --
Neil: No, it's none of your business.
Cane: I'm concerned.
Neil: Yeah, of course you're concerned. And I'm getting the feeling that there's
more to this. What are you really trying to tell me?
Sharon: Oh, that's a good one. Beautiful Faith. And then I want to get one...
Jack: Well, I guess that's that.
Nick: I'm glad you showed up. I can tell it meant a lot to her.
Jack: Same to you. Let's hope we did the right thing.
Sharon: You hanging in there?
Nick: Yeah. It's tough. How are you?
Sharon: Me?
Nick: Yeah. I don't know. You seem a little out of it, maybe. And when I grabbed
your hand earlier, it felt like it was trembling.
Sharon: Yeah. I think this wedding did stir something up for me.
Nick: Memories?
Sharon: Sort of. I mean, it's jumbled. I don't know what to make of all the
pieces, but I'm definitely gonna bring it up with Dr. Mead next time I see her.
Nick: That's a good idea.
Kelly: I know that wasn't easy for you -- walking Summer down the aisle and then
watching the ceremony.
Jack: I'm not sure I could have done that without you. In fact, I wouldn't be
here without you, and you were right. I needed to be here for my daughter.
Summer: Um, everyone. Um, I just wanted to say thank you for coming and making
this day so special. We're never gonna forget it.
Austin: Yeah. Thanks to all of you.
Summer: Hi. [Chuckles] Thank you.
Sharon: Aww, it was really lovely.
Courtney: Congratulations.
[Indistinct talking]
Sharon: Congratulations.
Summer: Thank you so much for coming. Thank you.
[Indistinct talking]
[Door opens]
Harding: Not so fast.
Austin: What's going on?
Summer: Jack, I thought you stopped this.
Jack: I did. You're not supposed to arrest my daughter.
Harding: I'm not here for Summer. I'm here for my good buddy Austin. See, he
violated the terms of his release by committing a crime. You're coming with me.
Next, on "The Young and the Restless"...
Jack: On what charge is Austin being re-arrested?
Harding: Like I said, he violated the terms of his bail.
Neil: I'm very concerned about Devon. Do you know what's going on with him?
