Episode # 10446 ~ Colin confesses to Jill; Summer works to help Austin; Devon battles feelings for Hilary.

Provided By Suzanne

Jack: I want all of that delivered to my office in the next hour. N-no, don't contact my assistant. Deal with me directly. Yeah. Thank you very much. See you then. Hi.

Sharon: I got your message about Neil and Hilary. What a shocker.

Jack: Yeah! I'm a little surprised myself. But, you know, it's nice to have something to celebrate for a change.

Sharon: You know what? It is. So, uh, what can I do?

Jack: I've arranged it all. It'll be here soon.

Sharon: I still can't believe it. I mean, I had no idea that Neil and Hilary were even thinking about getting married.

Jack: Yeah, neither did I. But you know what? When two people want to be together, nothing can stop them.

Summer: Where is he?

Austin: Here.

Summer: Austin. Hi. [Sighs]

Lauren: I am so glad that Christine finally went home. She really needed the rest.

Michael: Well, you know she wasn't gonna leave until she knew Paul was out of the woods.

Lauren: I wish I could say the same about Dylan.

Michael: Did you stop by his room on your way back from the cafeteria?

Lauren: I did. No news.

Michael: Sometimes no news is good news.

Lauren: Not in this case.

Michael: We're not gonna tell Paul how dire the situation is.

Lauren: I just hate lying to him.

Michael: Me too. But until he's stronger, I think it's best.

[Cell phone chimes]

Lauren: Oh. [Sighs] I completely forgot. I have to meet Jill.

Michael: Go ahead. I'll stay.

Lauren: Are you sure?

Michael: Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'll call you if anything changes.

Lauren: All right. All right. I won't be long. I promise.

Michael: Hmm.

Kevin: I wanted to get you something more practical.

Harding: It's plenty practical. He still got to work on his jump shot.

Paul: Well, you know, Chris might have something to say about that. She gets a little anxious if I do anything more vigorous than press the call button.

Kevin: I told you. We should have gotten him the doughnut shop gift card.

[Light laughter]

Paul: It's all right, Kevin. It's the thought that counts. Plus, you know, Harding can put it up in my office, and he can practice. God knows he needs it. Can work on your rebounding, too.

Harding: Really? Well, hey, as long as you're shooting, there's plenty of rebounds to go around. I'm not worried.

Paul: You want to go one-on-one now? I'll use my I.V. On you.

Harding: [Laughs]

Paul: You palm that ball anyway.

Harding: Oh, geez. [Laughs]

Michael: Whose brilliant idea was this?

Harding: Kevin's. Anyway, uh...

Michael: You need to be resting, not practicing your jump shots.

Harding: We got to get out of here. Take it easy, chief.

Paul: Yeah. Will do. Thanks for coming by. Officer lane, thank you, too. [Sighs]

Michael: You may have fooled them, but not me.

Paul: W-what do you mean?

Michael: There's something going on. What is it? You're not feeling okay?

Paul: No, no, I'm fine. I... I just want to see Dylan right now.

Michael: You can't.

Paul: Why not? Okay, what are you guys -- what aren't you telling me?

Jill: I would say good morning, but that usually comes after a good night's sleep. And this morning, your side of the bed was stone cold. So, I'm assuming that you didn't get one.

Colin: I couldn't sleep.

Jill: How long have you been down here like this, honey?

Colin: Awhile.

Jill: Just staring at my necklace?

Colin: And thinking.

Jill: Staring and thinking. Staring and thinking. While you were staring and thinking, did you come up with a new way to steal this so you could pay back your friends?

Colin: No. No, I didn't. I'm not going to, either.

Hilary: Mm.

Neil: Good morning.

Hilary: Mm. It is so far.

Neil: Mm.

Hilary: [Chuckles]

Neil: You feeling any different than you did yesterday?

Hilary: I don't know. Should I feel different?

Neil: Give you one reason.

Hilary: Oh. This. [Chuckles]

Neil: [Chuckles] Yep. That's exactly what I wanted to hear, Mrs. Winters.

Hilary: Mrs. Winters. That is definitely different.

Neil: Good different, I hope.

Hilary: Amazing different. But, um...

Neil: "But, um" what? What's wrong?

Hilary: I've never done this before. I don't know how we should start off our first day as husband and wife.

Neil: Well, wifey of mine, let me show you exactly how. Hey.

Jack: Neil.

Neil: What?

Jack: You're early.

Neil: No, this is the time I usually get here for work.

Jack: Well, the -- the night after your wedding? I might, I figured you and Hilary would sleep in.

Neil: [Chuckles] Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We got lots of sleep. Now I'm ready for work. I went by r&D. I should come --

Jack: Actually, I have to go by r&d right now for a meeting.

Neil: You're acting kind of funny. I got something to show you, Jack. Let me show this --

Sharon: Neil!

Neil: Sharon. What -- what's -- what's going -- what's going on here?

Jack: Oh, you're about to ruin a great surprise.

Neil: Surprise? I see the -- oh, you did this for Hilary and me, didn't you?

Sharon: Every bride and groom deserves to have their wedding celebrated. Okay, we just need some plates and napkins. I'll be right back.

Neil: Thanks, Sharon. Well, well, Jack Abbott, my man, you are in the minority thinking that my marriage to Hilary is cause for celebration.

Jack: Well, not everyone understands what you've been through. Losing the love of your life and somehow miraculously finding happiness with someone else.

Neil: Yeah, I am happy. And never in a million years did I see this one coming. Just goes to show you anything is possible if you follow your heart.

[Newspaper rustling]

Hilary: Devon, what are you doing?

Devon: Just celebrating. Congratulations. Or rather, best wishes to the beautiful bride.

Hilary: Okay, is this really how it's gonna be between us?

Devon: There is no "us." There's me, and there's you and Neil. And speaking of which, where is your husband? Shouldn't you guys be cutting cake or something?

Hilary: I came here to thank you, okay, for not ruining the wedding, just to say that, uh...

Devon: Say what?

Hilary: We need to forget about what happened that night in the park before the ceremony.

Devon: And which part are you referring to exactly? When we kissed or when I told you I love you?

Hilary: All of it.

Devon: And you can just do that? Wipe it from your mind?

Hilary: For Neil's sake.

Devon: Right. For Neil's sake. All right.

Hilary: Devon, I was hoping that we could be friends. Okay, well, maybe too soon for that.

[Cell phone rings]

Hilary: Hey, Neil. Oh, that's -- that's so sweet of Jack and Sharon. Yeah, I will be at the office as soon as I can. Yeah, I love you, too.

Devon: Well, don't let me keep you.

Hilary: I meant what I said, okay? I hope that one day we could be friends.

Devon: [Sighs] [Sighs]

Jill: So, have you thought of another way to pay back your business associates?

Colin: No.

Jill: Ah. A man without a plan. I love it. Shall I believe you?

Colin: I can't have something this precious taken from you.

Jill: Have you grown a conscience?

Colin: Come on. I'm trying to do the right thing here.

Jill: The right thing, by putting your family in danger over a piece of jewelry?

Colin: It's not just a piece of jewelry. It's taken me awhile to realize that. I got that from her.

Jill: From Katherine? Katherine gave you this epiphany?

Colin: The old bird left this to you because she cherished this as much as she did you. This is exquisite, it's unique, it's one-of-a-kind. As are you.

Jill: And it's worth a fortune.

Colin: Yeah, but she didn't bequeath it to you for its monetary value. This meant a lot to her, as did you. I mean, and you know that. It's why you fought so hard to hang on to it. So, much as I need cash right now, I am not going to take this memento of Katherine's love and affection for you.

Jill: Baby, there's something that you need to see.

Colin: [Scoffs] What's this? I-I don't get it.

Jill: It's the real necklace.

Colin: You gave me a fake?

Michael: I told you, you need to rest.

Paul: I will, as soon as you tell me what it is you're keeping from me. And don't say nothing.

Michael: Do I need to remind you that you are recovering from major surgery?

Paul: And you're risking my recovering by not telling me why I can't see Dylan.

Michael: You will when you're stronger.

Paul: Look, you two, tell me what's going on.

Kevin: No, it's -- it's like Michael said. You're recovering from surgery. So is Dylan. And he's already in trouble with his doctor for coming to see you the last time.

Michael: Yeah, he put himself at risk doing that, and now you want to do the same thing.

Paul: We just found out we're father and son. Of course we want to see each other. Imagine you just found out you had a grown son. The enormity of that situation is -- is really hard to fathom.

Michael: But there's still medical guidelines that need to be followed, independent of the -- the size and drama of the situation.

Paul: I'm sure that Dylan is just as eager to see me as I am him.

Michael: Doesn't matter. I mean...[Chuckles] I'm sure Dylan has learned his lesson, leaving bed too soon. And you don't want to put him in any more jeopardy, do you?

Paul: No, of course not. [Sighs] I'm just really anxious to see my son. My son. [Sighs] I've lost so much time already. I don't want to miss anything else.

Summer: Let me look at you. You look really tired.

Austin: I'm fine.

Summer: You probably didn't get any sleep in jail, did you? You probably didn't get to eat anything, either.

Austin: I'm just glad to be out of there, thanks to you. I know it cost you a ton.

Summer: No, I'm just sorry it took me so long. My dad tried to stop me from getting access to my own money, so I had to go straight to the president of the bank.

Austin: I didn't get you into trouble?

Summer: No, it's fine. You're free, and that's really all that matters.

Leslie: Until the trial, now, if Austin is convicted, there is no amount of money that will keep him out of prison.

Summer: No, but it'll buy him the best defense that you can give him.

Leslie: I have to be honest with both of you. I-I don't have a lot to work with. I mean, you did kidnap and stalk Avery, and you nearly killed the chief of police. And confessing to it all -- I mean, it didn't necessarily help.

Summer: No, but there were -- [Sighs] What do they call it?

Leslie: Extenuating circumstances.

Summer: Yeah.

Austin: Which jury won't care about.

Summer: No, but Leslie will make them care.

Leslie: You know, it would help a lot if Austin had someone to speak on his behalf, someone who could explain why he did the things he did.

Summer: Yeah, he does.

Leslie: Who?

Summer: Me.

Colin: You gave me a fake? A-a-a cheap imitation? How could you do that?!

Jill: Please don't go all moralistic on me. You lie easier than you breathe.

Colin: I have never put your life in da-- well, never intentionally. Look, do you have any idea what would have happened if the associate got in here and stolen this?

Jill: Colin, all I wanted was for you to admit that my feelings were more important to you than anything else, and you did it beautifully.

Colin: I got to put my life on the line just so that you can hear me profess my love for you, which I've done God knows how many times.

Jill: Yeah, but never so eloquently, okay? And don't get your boxers in a bunch, sweetie. This cheap imitation, as you call it, is an exact copy of the original.

Colin: Well, they look identical.

Jill: Yeah. Even an expert can't tell the difference.

Colin: You're sure?

Jill: I'm absolutely positive. So, the thief will get a duplicate so authentic it will appraise at full value. I get to keep the real necklace, and you and I collect the insurance on the stolen necklace. It's a win/win/win.

Colin: Hmm.

Jill: You're impressed, aren't you? You're maybe even a little turned on, aren't you?

Colin: I'm mildly impressed, but I'm 100% turned on.

Jill: [Laughs] Mmm.

Lauren: Hello!

Colin: Whoa.

Jill: Yeah, there, there, there.

Lauren: The doorbell wasn't working.

Jill: [Laughs]

Lauren: Am I interrupting something?

Jill: No!

Colin: No!

Jill: Not anything. No, no, no.

Lauren: Good. Uh, we were supposed to meet, right?

Jill: Yep, yep. I'm all ready.

Lauren: Okay, good.

Colin: Well, I'm gonna allow you girls to do what you do.

Jill: Good. Thank you, sweetheart. Good.

Colin: Get together.

Lauren: Great. Hi, sis.

Jill: Hi.

[Door opens, closes]

Colin: I have the item you wanted. I'll get it to you later today.

Jack: Best wishes to the bride, right?

Hilary: That's what I hear. So, I wasn't expecting all of this.

Jack: Well, we were surprised by the wedding. We thought the least we could do is surprise you with a little post-nuptial celebration.

Sharon: Let me get you a glass of sparkling cider.

Neil: Talk about surprises. I'm really surprised that you got over here so quickly. I figured it would take you an hour or more to -- to get here.

Hilary: I was already up and out when you called.

Neil: Yeah? You must have been close by.

Hilary: I was. But now I am here celebrating our marriage.

Sharon: Here you go.

Jack: Okay. To the bride and groom.

Sharon: Cheers.

Neil: Cheers.

Jack: Cheers.

Neil: Cheers, honey.

Hilary: Cheers.

[Cell phone rings]

Cane: Hey, I'll be there in a sec, sweetie. Hey.

Devon: Hey, bonjour.

Cane: Well, bonjour to you, too. You okay?

Devon: Yeah, everything's great. I just can't find this linen report that you were supposed to leave for me. And, uh, Hilary dropped by and decided to brighten up my day.

Cane: Wait, wait, wait. Hilary -- Hilary dropped by?

Devon: Yep, it's not enough that I'm her son-in-law. She wants to be friends now.

Cane: Devon, you been drinking?

Devon: I am drinking.

Cane: Don't you think it's a little early?

Devon: Oh, it's... late in Paris, right? Or is it early there, too? I don't remember. I just needed something to take the edge off, okay?

Cane: Sounds to me like you've already taken the edge off.

Devon: Listen, just tell me where the, uh, the linen report is, and you can get back to lily.

Cane: Listen. [Sighs] Your dad is married to Hilary, okay? So you need to stay away. And you also need to stay away from the booze. Is that something you can do? Devon?

Hilary: Thank you.

Sharon: So, you and Neil married. Exciting.

Hilary: Don't you mean shocking?

Sharon: No.

[Both laugh]

Hilary: It's okay. I know what everyone else is thinking, including you. "What the hell, Hilary?"

Sharon: It was a little of that.

Hilary: Listen, I know that Neil and I haven't known each other that long, and I'm not the most popular person with his family.

Sharon: You told me that lily and Devon were having a hard time adjusting to your relationship with Neil.

Hilary: And now we're married. And lily didn't come to the wedding.

Sharon: Ohh. What about Devon?

Hilary: This hasn't been easy for him, but he's trying.

Sharon: I'm glad.

Hilary: Yeah. Me too. I know how much Neil loves his kids.

Sharon: Well, they love him a lot, too. They're not gonna let this marriage come between them and their dad.

Hilary: I hope not.

Cane: Devon? Hey, you there?

Devon: Yeah, I'm here.

Cane: Did you hear what I said to you?

Devon: You said to stay away from Hilary and to lay off the booze.

Cane: Yeah, that's right. Can you do that?

Devon: Listen, enjoy your vacation with your wife and don't worry about me, okay? 'Cause I'm fine.

Cane: You know what? I don't think you're fine, to be honest with you. Hilary's already made a decision, okay, and she married your dad. And you need to find some way to live with that, okay?

Devon: I told you, cane. Don't worry about me, okay? I know how to handle things. Thank you.

Lauren: So, we exceeded numbers on the new boutique, but, you know, I just feel that if we expand too fast, we might have a cash-flow problem.

Jill: Mm-hmm.

Lauren: Jill?

Jill: Hmm?

Lauren: Hi. [Chuckles] Did you hear anything I just said?

Jill: Oh, yeah, I did. Cash flow, we're expanding the boutique, something.

Lauren: [Laughs] All right. What's going on? You didn't hear a word I said. Actually, when I walked in, you and Colin were acting strange -- uh, stranger -- than normal.

Jill: Okay, well, as it happens, you interrupted kind of an intimate moment. That's all. Come in a little later, we might have been minus a little apparel.

Lauren: Saw that once. That's enough.

Jill: Will you stop sounding like I'm an exhibitionist? It's my own home, and you just walked in.

Lauren: Well, I'm just grateful all he got off of you was that necklace, you know?

Jill: What?

Lauren: You know, Katherine's necklace, the one that's been glued to you ever since you found it? I figured that he took it off you as, like, a prelude to... something.

Jill: No. I just decided that I wouldn't wear it every day, that's all.

Lauren: Really?

Jill: Yeah, Katherine didn't wear it every day. It was something for very special occasions.

Lauren: Now that I think about it, I don't ever remember her wearing that.

Jill: By the way, you haven't told me how Paul is or Dylan.

Lauren: Oh. Yeah, um, Paul is better, thank God, you know. He has a really good prognosis. But Dylan, his -- his doctors are really worried.

Jill: [Sighs] I bet Nikki is, too. Oh, the thought of losing him. And Paul might never get to know his son.

Lauren: It is just tragic how one bullet can change so many lives. Paul and Dylan and even the boy who pulled the trigger.

Jill: That boy has no one to blame but himself for his life being ruined.

Austin: Look, I already screwed up my life. I don't want to screw up yours, too.

Summer: Please, you have to let me help you.

Austin: You have. You paid my bail, you got Leslie to represent me.

Summer: Okay, well, if you're convicted, none of that's gonna mean anything.

Leslie: Okay, Summer, you can't control anything that happens at Austin's trial.

Summer: If you call me to the stand, I can, okay? I can explain to the jury how sorry Austin is for what happened to Paul and that he didn't mean for the gun to go off. It was just a horrible accident. Okay, then after that, after everything, he decided on his own to turn himself in. Look, I can convince them that he's not a cold-blooded killer. And then after that, they're gonna have to find him not guilty.

Austin: The legal system's a lot more complicated than that.

Leslie: He's right. If you take the stand as a defense witness, then the prosecution gets to question you, as well.

Summer: Okay, then I'll answer their questions.

Leslie: Well, what are you gonna say when they ask you why Austin ran after the shooting or -- or why the two of you were planning to leave the country together? Honestly, you know what? It doesn't matter what you say. They're gonna think you're lying. And it will hurt Austin, and I know that's not what you want to do.

Summer: Okay, there must be something that I can do.

Leslie: There is. Let me handle this. If you don't, Austin could end up going to prison for a very long time.

Kevin: That's pretty much all the news from the station.

Paul: Great. So, parking citations are up, and jaywalking and littering violations are down. That's just about as much as Harding told me.

Kevin: Hey! The deputy chief has everything under control.

Paul: It doesn't mean there's no crime in the city.

Michael: It does for you.

Kevin: Yeah. You just need to focus on getting well.

Paul: You know, keeping me in the dark is not helping my recovery.

Michael: Dr. Shelby is going to be very upset he wasted all those years in medical school knowing that the patients are treating themselves.

Kevin: And what about nurse ratched? You know what she's gonna do if you don't obey her orders?

Paul: [Chuckles]

[Door opens]

Harding: [Sighs] You're still here.

Michael: Yes, detective. Keenly observed.

Harding: Well, I was hoping to talk to the chief alone. I have some news.

Michael: Well, if it's about work, you can --

Paul: If it's about work, tell me. Out with it. What is it?

Harding: The guy who shot you, Austin Travers, he made bail.

Leslie: So, we're all in agreement. You won't testify in Austin's defense.

Austin: Yes.

Summer: What if the prosecution calls on me?

Leslie: Let's not worry about something that hasn't happened, okay? I'm gonna start working on your case. I will be in touch.

Austin: Okay. Thanks. You heard Leslie. We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.

Summer: Okay, the D.A. could use me to hurt you. My testimony could send you to prison.

Austin: No matter what happens, you are not responsible. Come here. I wouldn't be free right now if it wasn't for you. I would have some lame public defender instead of a kickass defense attorney. You could have ran away the second you found out I was in trouble with the cops, but you didn't.

Summer: No, I'll never leave you.

Austin: But maybe you should. Look at the mess I've made of your life. And it could only get worse. I don't understand why you'd want to stay with me.

Summer: Look, no one understands me like you do. Nobody makes me feel the way that you do. I can tell you things and not be afraid that you're gonna hurt me or betray me. When I'm not with you, you're all that I think about, and when I am, I don't want to leave you.

Austin: But you could be giving up your future. And for what?

Summer: For you! Austin, don't you get it? I love you.

Jack: You do know that a small wedding entitles you to a very extravagant and lovely honeymoon.

Hilary: Oh, really?

Sharon: So, what's it gonna be? Private cruise on a yacht or love among the ruins of Greece? An Italian villa? Or, hey, Monte Carlo.

Jack: All of the above.

Neil: Well, Jack, why don't you give me your credit card and we'll take a trip around the world on you.

[Laughter]

Hilary: I don't need an expensive honeymoon. I've got everything I need right here.

Neil: Hmm.

Devon: Hear, hear.

Jack: Hey!

Devon: Hey. I heard there was a party going on in here. Hey, guys.

Neil: How'd you know about it?

Devon: Hilary didn't tell you? She was at the club when you called her.

Hilary: Well, if I knew you wanted to come, I would have invited you.

Neil: Well, the best man is here now, right? Yeah, why don't we get you some sparkling cider to cele...brate?

Devon: Uh...

Neil: Hey, it smells like you've already been celebrating. You hit the alcohol kind of early this morning, didn't you?

Devon: Actually, no. I-I hit the bottle late last night, and I probably hit it a little too hard. I'm still working it off.

Neil: Yeah? Well, I'm a little worried about you, you know? If you got a hangover, maybe you shouldn't be here right now.

Devon: No, I want to be here, because I have something that I want to tell you. And it's something that I should have said yesterday at the wedding.

Colin: I thought you two titans of retail would be done by now.

Lauren: Actually, it's been a little slow-going, but that's mostly been my fault.

Jill: You've had a lot on your mind.

Colin: Yeah, why don't you call it a day, hmm? Oh, Jill -- Jill wouldn't mind, would you?

Jill: Let me make those calls to the wholesalers for you.

Lauren: I don't want to dump that on you.

Colin: Come on, that's what big sisters are for, right?

Jill: No, I really wouldn't mind, honey.

Lauren: All right. If you're sure.

Jill: I am positive, so you go on back to the hospital and give Paul my best, okay?

Lauren: I will. Thank you. Talk to you later.

Colin: Bye. Ooh. Right.

Jill: You are about as subtle as a hammer!

Colin: Hey, I've got a guy waiting for this necklace. I mean, you can understand why I'm a little anxious.

Jill: I told you everything's gonna be fine.

Colin: There's one thing we haven't discussed.

Jill: What?

Colin: When we report this stolen, you can never wear it again.

Jill: I know. Not in public, anyway, but I can wear it around here when we're alone. It'll be enough.

Colin: What did I ever do in my life to deserve a woman like you?

Jill: [Chuckles] There's still time.

Colin: Oh, yeah?

Jill: Mmm.

Colin: Okay. Give me the fake, otherwise I'm never gonna get out of here.

Jill: Okay.

Colin: Okay. Which one's which?

Paul: Summer and Travers? Wow. That girl.

Kevin: Summer must be crazy about this guy to run off with him after what he did. And now she's posted his bail?

Harding: Crazy is the word for it. I mean, this punk, he -- he shoots a cop, and then he's got teenage girls and high-priced attorneys and judges falling all over him. I mean, bail! Are you kidding me?!

Paul: Take it easy.

Harding: No, I'm not gonna take it easy until Travers is put away for good!

Michael: That's not guaranteed, you know. It was his first offense, and from what I understand, there were mitigating circumstances. And the fact that Paul is alive means the charge could be dropped to assault.

Harding: If Travers isn't put away, I'm gonna make him wish he was.

Michael: Oh, really? Truth, justice, and the Harding way -- is that it?

Harding: Chief, he could have killed you. We're not just gonna let him get away with that, all right?

Paul: I know. I agree. I want justice, not revenge. You understand?

Harding: I understand.

Paul: Okay. Get back to work.

Kevin: Well, Travers is lucky you're the chief of police and not that hothead.

Paul: You know, coming close to death has given me a different perspective on a lot of things.

Michael: Of course. You...appreciate life more.

Paul: I have a chance to get to know my son. I mean, Travers created some serious damage. But there -- there are some good things coming out of this. I'm gonna focus on that.

Summer: Aren't you gonna say anything?

Austin: I don't know what to say.

Summer: I mean, you could say that you love me, too? Or not.

Austin: Summer, look, I care about you.

Summer: Oh, my God. Please do not tell me that you just want us to be friends.

Austin: You have been a great friend to me. You're the only person who hasn't given up on me.

Summer: I told you. I'm not going to. I meant it when I said that I love you.

Austin: I know you did, but you're not thinking.

Summer: I know I'm not thinking. I'm feeling. Okay, and if you'd allow yourself to do the same, then you would be able to admit that you feel the same about me as I do with you.

Austin: Okay, look, I'm a lot older than you, and I've been through a lot more than you. And things don't always turn out how you want them to.

Summer: Okay, but they will this time.

Austin: You're not looking at this realistically. I could go to prison for a long time.

Summer: That's not gonna happen.

Austin: That's what I'm talking about. You're not facing the truth. I could go away for years, okay? Maybe forever.

Summer: I don't care. I will stand by you.

Austin: I don't want you to do that.

Summer: I'm not gonna turn my back on you, okay? I love you too much. And I know that you love me, too. No matter how much you deny it.

Neil: So, what'd you want to say, Devon?

Devon: I wanted to say congratulations.

Neil: Okay. You already said that yesterday.

Devon: I know I did. I wanted to put an exclamation point on it. Open it up.

Neil: Okay. Ohh, nice. It's absolutely beautiful.

Devon: You like it? I thought you could put a wedding photo in it, and then you could put it on your mantel next to the other family photos.

Neil: Hey. You don't know how much that means to me, man.

Hilary: Me too. I wasn't expecting it.

Devon: Well, I figured that it's time that I accept that you guys are together. And that's why I came here -- so we can celebrate.

Sharon: I'll get you some cake.

Hilary: I'll help you.

Sharon: You okay?

Hilary: Yeah, I'm fine.

Sharon: You looked a little nervous when Devon said he had something to say.

Hilary: Yeah, I'm just used to being on guard with him.

Sharon: I thought you said he was making an effort to get used to you and Neil being together.

Hilary: [Chuckles] Old habits.

Jack: Nice of you to drop by, Devon. I know it means the world to Neil.

Neil: None of this has been easy for you, I know.

Devon: It's all good. I mean, I get it. I get why you want to be with Hilary. 'Cause when someone's right for you and you're lucky enough to find that person, you do anything you can to hang on to her.

Neil: Hey, Devon. You're gonna find someone. I promise.

Devon: This isn't about me. This is about you and Hilary. But I just wanted to stop by and wish you my best.

Neil: Wait, where you going? We're just starting to celebrate. Are you taking off?

Devon: Yeah, I have a meeting I have to get to at the club, so I'll see you guys later.

Neil: Okay. Hey, Jack, I think I should go talk to him for a minute. I'll be right back, okay?

Leslie: Um, Jack, no one was outside, so I... you got married?

Colin: I can't tell which one's which.

Jill: Well, of course you can't.

Colin: Well, that's not a good thing, Jill!

Jill: Why? Because you have to admit that I was right that the copy is an exact duplicate?

Colin: We've even fooled ourselves. Now what?

Jill: Now I point out the real necklace and we move forward with our plan.

Colin: Your counterfeit is good enough to fool an expert, but not you?

Jill: Yeah, because I have a spiritual connection with the necklace that Katherine gave me.

Colin: You're the only person I know that can turn insurance fraud into a religious experience.

Jill: [Chuckles] Do you want me to identify the real necklace or what?

Colin: Yeah.

Jill: It's that one.

Colin: You're 100% certain?

Jill: 100% certain, darling.

Leslie: Oh, I mean, I-I knew you and Hilary were engaged, but... [Chuckles] Congratulations.

Neil: Yeah? Thanks.

Leslie: Yeah.

Neil: You can't be shocked at how quickly this all happened, can you?

Leslie: Well, I mean, I guess I'm no more shocked than you were about my wedding, so...

Neil: I'm really not trying to get back at you.

Leslie: I know that, okay? And I wish you and Hilary every happiness. I really do.

Neil: Thank you. Wishing you and your husband the best, as well.

Leslie: I know that. Thank you. Uh, well, I mean, I really -- I really do need to talk to Jack, so...

Neil: Yeah, sure you do. You take care.

Leslie: All right.

Sharon: Neil.

Neil: Hmm?

Sharon: I'm gonna take off.

Neil: Oh, all right. Yeah. Thank you, Sharon. Lovely party. Appreciate it.

Sharon: Oh, it was a pleasure. I'm glad I could help you and your bride celebrate.

Neil: Yeah. Thanks again. But where is -- where is Hilary?

Devon: [Sighs]

Hilary: Devon, wait.

Devon: I have nothing to say to you.

Hilary: Well, I have plenty to say to you.

Neil: I think I'm gonna go find Hilary. Um, I'll walk out with you.

Sharon: Okay.

Jack: Yeah, let me look at the figures. I'll get back to you, all right? Thanks.

Leslie: Oh. Wow. I, uh, didn't mean to break up the party.

Jack: Yeah, why did you need to see me?

Leslie: Well, Avery asked me to represent Austin Travers.

Jack: Yeah, I heard that.

Leslie: And I thought you should know, he is out of jail. And Summer paid his bail.

Jack: You're telling me the man that shot Paul Williams is free and he's with my daughter?

Leslie: I'm afraid so.

Austin: Summer. We can't.

Summer: Can't...what? Love each other? You can't stop that.

Austin: Look, I care about you, but I don't want to see you get hurt.

Summer: Okay, the only way I'm gonna get hurt is if I'm not with you.

Austin: I know that's what you think --

Summer: No, it's the truth, okay? This is not a crush, Austin. I love you, and I want to be with you, and I know that that's what you want, too.

Austin: Don't you get it? It doesn't matter how we feel about each other, okay? I'm going to prison, and there's nothing we can do about it.

Summer: Maybe there is.

Austin: What are you talking about?

Summer: I know exactly what we have to do.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Paul: Please don't lie to me.

Nikki: I'm not lying to you.

Paul: I want to know how Dylan is.

Avery: [Sobbing] It's what you're not telling me that's scaring the hell out of me.
