Episode # 10426 ~ Colin & Jill fight over Katherine's necklace; Nikki calls Victor out.
Provided By Suzanne
[Knocking on door]
Nick: Mom! Mom, are you in there?! Can you hear me?!
Nikki: Honey, I'm here. I'm fine. What's wrong?
Nick: Oh, thank goodness.
Nikki: Well, good grief. Nicholas, what's going on?
Nick: Where have you been?
Victor: Avery. My goodness. Nice to see you. Have a seat.
Avery: I spoke to Dylan earlier. He hasn't been able to get in touch with Ian Ward's ex-wife. But it occurs to me that you knew that already.
Victor: What, pray tell, are you talking about?
Avery: You and Dylan are in this together, aren't you? Just tell me, how illegal is your plan?
Michael: Yello!
Kevin: Aah!
Michael: [Chuckles]
Kevin: Michael. Do not sneak up on people in a police station.
Michael: Sneak? I don't sneak. I was just here. I came to post bail for a client and thought I'd stop and say hello.
Kevin: Look, it's after hours. Go say hello to your wife.
Michael: I am meeting her for dinner. In fact, why don't you join us?
Kevin: Uh, I can't. I've got a busy evening planned with a microwave burrito, this stack of work, but say hi to Lauren for me.
Lauren: Oh! Hi, yourself. The reason I wanted to meet you here is I had a great idea. Why doesn't Kevin join us for dinner?
Kevin: Masters of subtlety, you two. Just be honest about why you're really here.
Colin: Ah, the glorious missus with a bouquet of sparklies around the neck.
Jill: [Laughs] This old thing? I just threw it on.
Colin: You didn't tell me we were dressing for dinner. I mean, Esther's gonna be furious with the fast food if we walk out on her.
Jill: No, no, no, no, no. You and I are going out to celebrate, darling, my legacy and each other. What good is that if we can't flaunt it, huh?
Colin: You know, envy is the best compliment, and these things look absolutely beautiful around your neck.
Jill: Thank you. Thank you for agreeing not to sell.
Colin: Yeah. Hey, let's clarify that. Now, I agreed not to sell because you agreed not to sell. That is, after all, our idea of unity, right?
Jill: [Chuckles] Oh, my god! What if we'd gone out and it had dropped o-on the ground?! Some creep could have sold it for a fortune!
Colin: Hey, look, let's get it to a jeweler's and have it repaired.
Jill: No, no, no, no. I don't trust them. You know what? I'm gonna go get the needle-nose pliers and I will fix it myself.
[Doorbell rings]
Jill: Oh, would you get that, please? I certainly wouldn't want to bother Esther to do her job!
Colin: Of course.
Colin: Cane! Lily! The kids!
Cane: Dad, Dad, Dad, this isn't some random visit. This is an emergency.
Lauren: What? What are we up to?
Michael: Other than offering you a meal better than the one you had planned?
Kevin: Uh, number one, there is nothing better than a bean and cheese burrito, and, two, this is clearly a "let's take pity on the poor husband whose wife went to California to get psychological care."
Lauren: Kevin, your brother and I love you. Why wouldn't we want to have dinner with you and keep you company?
Kevin: Thank you. I love you both, too, but, really, I'm fine. And, yes, I am keeping myself busy with work. Thanks. But that's just so that I can take time off and go visit Chloe as soon as the doctor says it's okay.
Michael: So, you're not diving in to work to dull the pain?
Kevin: No. I am diving in to work because I want to keep my job and go visit my wife.
Lauren: Have you heard from her?
Kevin: Uh, no, not yet. You know, as soon as the doctor says it's okay, she'll call. And then when I can, I will get on a plane and go see her.
Michael: Well, you can still take a break for food. Come on. Come eat with us.
Kevin: Hold up. Hold up. This is from Chloe -- and sooner than I expected.
Michael: Excellent!
Lauren: What's wrong?
Michael: Is she okay?
Nikki: Well, Nicholas, if you must know, I went downstairs to the salon to buy some shampoo. Would you like me to text you of my whereabouts next time?
Nick: No. Uh, yes, actually. Maybe I would.
Nikki: What on earth is wrong? What are you upset about?
Nick: This. I do not like you being at this hotel. This is the same hotel that Ian Ward is staying at.
Nikki: Yes, yes. I am acutely aware of that, but what you don't know is that your father has somebody watching me 24/7, so Ian Ward is best keeping his distance from me.
Nick: You don't want to be with dad right now -- I get it. But come stay with me at the tack house.
Nikki: Are you at the tack house, or are you staying with Sharon these days?
Nick: All right. Now you just sound like dad.
Nikki: Are the two of you speaking?
Nick: He came by Cassie's grave on her anniversary. We -- we spoke.
Nikki: Well, considering the location and the date, I hope you were respectful.
Nick: Dad had yet another opportunity to apologize for the stunt he pulled with Sharon, and he didn't even have the decency to try.
Nikki: Your father just cannot give up on the idea that Sharon has some deep, dark secret that will devastate you.
Nick: Which is ridiculous.
Nikki: Is it?
Nick: Look, mom, I-I don't want to do this with you, okay? Don't give me a hard time about Sharon, and I won't give you a hard time about not answering your phone.
Nikki: Oh, okay. Great. That's a very mature plan. Good.
Nick: Sharon and I are in a really good place right now, and I already told dad this so-called secret that Sharon's so worried about remembering -- it just has to do with some leftover guilt she had about taking off with faith.
Nikki: I hate what your father has done, but that doesn't mean his motives were wrong.
Nick: Mom, you just moved out, all right? Please don't ruin it by defending him.
Nikki: I'm not defending. I am explaining.
Nick: Okay. Well, here's the thing -- I don't care what dad's motives were. He pushed Sharon to the limit and sent her to the hospital, and I'm not about to forgive him for what he's done. I may not ever forgive him.
Nikki: Okay. Well... you might change your mind once you take a look at this.
Victor: Are you accusing me of an illegal activity?
Avery: I'm not assuming anything that you and Dylan may have planned for Ian Ward. In fact, I withdraw the question.
Victor: A wise decision.
Avery: That's not the reassurance I was looking for, Victor.
Victor: Avery, I respect you enough not to lie to you. And I assume that you respect Dylan McAvoy enough to trust that he's gonna do the right thing as far as his biological father's concerned.
Avery: Just to be clear, I know that whatever Dylan is involved in, you are, too.
Victor: And why do you think we are working together?
Avery: Because you have a common enemy.
Victor: Then you know that we are both concerned with ridding ourselves of Ian Ward.
Avery: Yes. I just want to know what Dylan is risking to accomplish that.
Victor: And if you think he has risked too much, you will stop him?
Avery: No, I won't. I want Ian Ward handled like the slime that he is. And I trust Dylan... to do whatever needs to be done.
Kevin: "Kevin, I'm sorry, but I won't be calling. This e-mail will be our contact."
Lauren: "I'm trying so hard to get well. Part of that means you can't come visit, Kevin. You've held my hand for so long. I have to see if I can survive on my own."
Michael: You know, Kevin, she's protecting her recovery. This is about her. It's not about you. It's not! It --
Lauren: "The thing is, I don't know if I'll ever come back. Everything and everyone in Genoa City -- it all hurts to think about."
Kevin: Me -- she means me.
Lauren: "I want to get well. I want to have a life after Delia. And I want you to have a life after me. Please, Kevin, you have to move on without me."
Cane: All right. So, the twins were at a sleepover...
Lily: And the mom called and said that Charlie has a bad rash, and so we want to take him to the E.R., But Mattie won't stay at the friend's house without him...
Cane: 'Cause the only person she wants to see is you.
Jill: [Gasps] Oh, that's so sweet. I love her, too.
Lily: Actually, she asked for Colin.
Cane: Yeah.
Jill: Did you hear that?
Colin: I am touched. You were hurt about the pharmaceutical mess, and now you're letting me have one of the --
Cane: All right, dad. Don't get too excited. It's an emergency.
Colin: But did cane tell you about my noble cause that... backfired?
Lily: You're still on probation where the kids are concerned, so we're trusting Jill to supervise.
Jill: Which I will gladly do. But I have no doubt that he will work his grandfather magic.
Cane: So, if you are remotely capable of being on our best behavior, I would say that now is the time to do it.
Colin: You have my solemn word.
Nick: So, dad has to pay a fine for owning a company that almost killed Summer? It's t his first fine, and it won't be his last.
Nikki: There is also the possibility of prison time.
Nick: He'll get out of it, and not for the first time.
Nikki: Whatever the outcome, he could be charged and convicted, and I know you don't want that.
Nick: You're right. But here's the thing -- dad's done plenty that he hasn't gone down for.
Nikki: You know what is so ironic? After everything you and your father have been through together, the last straw seems to be about Sharon.
Nick: No. The last straw is about dad, because he always has another dirty move up his sleeve
Victor: So, now that you understand the situation with Ian Ward, you also understand how things have to be handled.
Avery: The man is a predator who enjoys causing pain. I just saw another young woman coming out of his room today. Unless he is stopped, there will be more.
Victor: He's a menace to this community, okay? He's a threat to everyone -- especially to Nikki. When she's around him, I assure you, her stress level goes way up, which is very bad for her M.S.
Avery: I know, and I am sure that Ian enjoys that, which makes me loathe him even more. But just so we're clear, whatever you and Dylan have planned, he cannot be your scapegoat.
Victor: Why do you think we have something planned?
Avery: Victor, if something goes wrong...
Victor: Hmm?
Avery: ...If lines are crossed... Dylan is not going down for what you two do together. I will be furious, and Ian will love that -- all of us turning against one another.
Victor: Now, don't you worry, okay? Dylan McAvoy is a big boy. He can take care of himself. I will not allow Ian Ward to get the upper hand.
Avery: Okay. This is what Ian lives for -- the power plays and the mind games.
Victor: I know. He came to me with some cockamamie story saying that he had information that I needed.
Avery: For a huge sum of money, I'm sure.
Victor: Last time he will do that.
Avery: Well, for your sake and for Dylan's, I hope neither of you needs an attorney, but if you do, I'm available.
Victor: Now, you know I have a bevy of lawyers, but none as interested in this case as you are, so, if the need arises, I may give you a call.
Avery: You know, I was hoping you would say it wouldn't come to this. But since we're being so honest with each other, why bother with that charade, right?
Victor: Why, indeed? Have a nice day.
Avery: You too.
Avery: Oh. Hello, you two.
Nikki: Hi, Avery.
Nick: Hey.
Avery: Nikki, I suppose it won't do any good to say I wish you weren't staying in the same building as Ian Ward.
Nikki: Oh, boy.
Nick: Yeah, I already gave that a shot.
Nikki: Yes, he did, and I will not be afraid or run from anybody. Oh. Victor is here. Excuse me. Come see me again. I'm glad you came by today. Excuse me, Avery.
Nick: Sure, mom. Love you.
Nick: You, uh -- I'll walk you out?
Avery: Yeah, please.
Nikki: Hello.
Victor: Fancy seeing you here.
Nikki: Yes. I saw the newspaper -- the article about the federal case against Newman-chancellor.
Victor: You know whenever my name is in the papers, they sell more.
Nikki: Well, it doesn't look like the government is going to back down. I don't think you can brush this one aside.
Victor: I'll just pay a fine.
Nikki: Victor, please give me the courtesy of being honest. I know there is far more at stake here than just a fine.
Avery: And, of course, there was a young woman coming out of his room.
Nick: Look, I don't like you alone with this freak. If Dylan can't go with you, then call me and I will.
Avery: You know, normally I would tell you that I can handle this myself, but... he really got to me.
Nick: What did he do?
Avery: He pushed my buttons, got in my head. And I know -- I know -- it's all planned and carefully contrived, but... he knows exactly what to say to get me to second-guess myself.
Nick: Listen to me. He's sick. Don't listen to him. You got nothing to second-guess yourself about.
Avery: But that's not true, and that's why Ian is so effective. I haven't always been a decent person. I've hurt a lot of people... including you.
Nikki: You may not want the world to know that you're worried about these charges, but I am not the world. I would think you could confide in me regardless of where I lay my head at night.
Mr. Newman, any response to the recent article about your fine and federal charges?
Nikki: [Sighs]
Victor: I understand that Devon Hamilton bought this place to make sure that people like you are kept out.
Are you afraid to tell the truth to a reporter?
Nikki: My husband is afraid of nothing and no one. You, however, should be very afraid of being tossed out on your ear.
Mr. Newman, if you could just give us one statement --
Victor: Son, you heard my wife. Get out!
Nikki: Please go. Write some lies about someone else.
Cane: It's probably just poison ivy.
Lily: I know.
Cane: Okay. So, what is wrong? Okay. So, this is about Mattie being with Colin.
Lily: I think we should call.
Cane: Sweetheart, it hasn't been long, and Jill is there.
Lily: You know that Mattie can be a handful.
Cane: So, this isn't about Mattie acting up, this is about Colin screwing up, right? Listen, you saw the look on his face when he asked to look after our little girl. And Jill is right -- he's not gonna blow it.
Colin: Kangaroo pushed him into the river. I saw it with my one good eye here, see? The brown one, not the blue one.
Esther: Okay.
Colin: What have we got?
Esther: Anyone for milk and cookies?
Colin: Yay! Cookies!
Esther: Yay!
Colin: All for me. All for me.
Mattie: No, me!
Colin: No, no, no, no, no. We have one less cookie. Okay. Oh, no! Don't break it!
Mattie: I want that one.
Colin: You want this one? What about this one?
Esther: Oh, my god. Is that -- I-I-is it?
Jill: Yes, it is.
Esther: Mrs. C's necklace?
Jill: Yes, it is.
Esther: The one from the portrait?
Jill: Mm-hmm.
Esther: Okay. Where was it?
Jill: It was found in this very room, in that very chandelier, which, obviously, you never clean, or you would have found it months ago.
Esther: But how? I mean, how?
Jill: It was a team effort with Colin and me. Somehow, the stars just aligned, and this and a note dropped as if from the heavens.
Esther: What note? Did it explain what she meant about having all that you value?
Jill: The appraiser explained that to me -- $18 million worth of value.
Esther: Oh, my go-- my god. $18 mi-- oh, no. Put it in the safe. Oh, no. Forget the safe. Put it in the bank. Wait, wait, wait.
Jill: Look, calm, calm, calm.
Esther: Well, there's got to be more to this mystery. I mean, Mrs. C would not make this about money. She was not like that at all.
Jill: And you know that how -- 'cause you knew her so well?
Esther: Yeah, I did.
Jill: Let's not be territorial just because she left me something magnificent, okay?
Colin: Whose is it?
Mattie: It's mine.
Colin: No, it's not. Now look -- now look what you've done here. You've broken the cookie. You've broken the cookie.
Mattie: [Laughs]
Esther: Wonderful to have sounds like that in this house again. Little girl -- we haven't heard that since...
Jill: Since we lost Delia.
Esther: Yeah. There will always be a hole in our hearts. It's worse now that Chloe's gone.
Jill: It's all right, Esther. She's getting help, hmm?
Esther: Then she'll come back to us?
Jill: Yeah, she'll come back.
Michael: She should have done this on the phone. She should have called him up.
Lauren: If she and her doctor feel that this is the best way --
Kevin: Her doctor -- he put her up to this. Look, Chloe and I were doing great before she left. We were in a good place -- a real place -- not just friends.
Lauren: If this is what Chloe needs to heal --
Kevin: No. No, no, no. They're messing with her head, making her do things against her will. I have to get to California. I have to bring her back here.
Michael: Listen, Kevin, if Chloe says she needs some time --
Kevin: Not time, Michael. She basically just said goodbye forever, after telling me she loved me. You both heard her say that. Does that sound like someone who's ready to dump a marriage?
Lauren: The only reason that your marriage was legal is to keep her out of prison and Fairview. Now that she's in-patient --
Kevin: You're not hearing me. I'm not gonna get into details, but the marriage was real when Chloe left -- trust me. And now -- [Sighs] Chloe wanted me as her husband. She did. now she's been there a week and she's saying she doesn't? It's -- it's bull!
Michael: Maybe when she got some distance, she realized how long her recovery might take, and --
Kevin: What do we know about the facility? What do we know about the doctors? None of us have been there.
Michael: It's extremely reputable. It's got excellent oversight. You've got to know that.
Kevin: Okay, and it's across the country, where nobody can go there and see her. It's ridiculous. You know, when she left, I wanted to take her and run away.
Michael: Run? Run where, Kevin? Run where? You tried to help her. This isn't something that you can handle. And it was never about how much you love Chloe.
Lauren: Michael is right. Chloe has real problems, and she needs serious treatment. This is the only way for her to get well.
Kevin: She would not have sent me an e-mail after the way we just left things.
Lauren: Maybe your words and time together... was not a new beginning to your marriage. Honey, maybe it was her way of saying goodbye.
Cane: You see? It was just poison ivy.
Lily: Yeah, just irritating, annoying, uncomfortable.
Cane: Hang on. Are you talking about the poison ivy or talking about Colin?
Lily: No, you're right. I'm sure Mattie is fine. And once Charlie gets his cream, he'll be fine, too.
Cane: Look, I know you were robbed of your romantic Parisian birthday dinner, and I had a very special dessert planned for you tonight.
Lily: Well, you can just make it up to me soon.
Cane: Okay, or we can do it tonight, all right? We could take him back to Jill's, all right? Then we can go home. We can celebrate.
Lily: And leave the kids with your father overnight? Are you out of your mind?
Colin: Little beastie's got more chocolate on her face than she has in her mouth.
Jill: [Chuckles] Don't worry. Esther will clean her all up while boring her senseless at the same time.
Colin: Kids should have milk and cookies every day.
Jill: Oh, darling, you should see your face. You are so smitten with her.
Colin: Mattie's a sweetheart. But, you know, her parents are gonna get back here soon, and I was, well, wondering whether we might be able to go ahead with the evening as planned.
Jill: Are you sure you have the energy?
Colin: What do you mean, the energy?
Jill: [Laughs]
Colin: I'm gonna go down and liberate a bottle of bubbly from the cellar, and then, uh... I'll see you upstairs, all right?
Jill: Okay. Tell me more.
Esther: Okay! We're back, and Mattie has a great idea -- hide-and-seek and everyone plays.
Jill: Oh, perfect.
Colin: Who's it?
Mattie: You are.
Colin: Okay. And I accept the challenge, and I -- I -- will find you all.
Esther: [Laughing] No.
Colin: All right.
Jill: You're adorable.
Colin: It's all part of my plan to have my way with you over and over and over. All right. We ready?
Jill: Okay.
Colin: All right. 1...
Esther: Don't peek! You're peeking.
Colin: I'm not. 1...
Esther: Okay. Go.
Both: ...2...3.
Colin: 23.
Jill: [Laughs]
Colin: 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10... 11. Yeah. It's me. Yeah, of course I got your texts. What do you think I'm calling you for? Now, uh, the money you gave me to spread through Bonaventure -- you'll get that back. That wretched drug company's been more trouble than it's worth.
Victor: Security would have thrown out the reporter. No need to bring me up here.
Nikki: Victor, I know you. You wouldn't have waited for security. You would have thrown the reporter out on your own, and the photographer would have been taking all kinds of pictures. It would have gotten all over the press, and then you would be facing local charges in addition to federal.
Victor: Maybe I should have you take care of everything, you know? Ahh. Thank you for... defending my honor.
Nikki: Well, whoever was behind that unapproved drug certainly wasn't you. But that doesn't mean that there aren't other things that you're innocent of.
Victor: Would you like me to be charged for other crimes? Is that it? Would that make you happy?
Nikki: You know that it wouldn't, so don't make me say it.
Victor: You just said it.
Nikki: Stop smiling. I'm serious.
Victor: Will you listen to me? Nothing will break me -- no charges, no fines, no newspaper stories, okay? Not even time in the clink -- it ain't gonna hurt me.
Nikki: Victor, you have brought Newman enterprises through the fire many times, but Newman-chancellor is a whole different, bigger empire, and if anything were to happen to the reputation of that company, it would hurt you more than just having to write a check or even serving prison time. You love that company -- some would say even more than you love your family.
Victor: And they're wrong when they say that, okay? Now, I've gone through ups and downs in the business world more than I can count two hands. I have only one family, and I'll be damned if I allow anyone to tear them apart.
Avery: The thing about Ian is that he knows how to find his victims' guilt and shame and then exploit that. And I have a number of things that I feel guilty about -- my father, Phyllis... you.
Nick: Avery, don't beat yourself up about what happened with us. I mean, you're with Dylan, and I'm with Sharon. It wasn't easy for either one of us to get there.
Avery: But the two of you really belong together.
Nick: And you with Dylan. Look, don't let Ian get under your skin, okay? That piece of garbage is not worth the satisfaction.
Avery: [Sighs] Normally, I wouldn't, but between him and 4mj, I -- I have this fan, and I use that term loosely. He's been posting online things -- creepy, judgmental postings. Dylan is sure that it's Ian, but now I'm not so convinced.
Nick: What do you know about this person? Male? Female? And when you say, "fan," what do you --
Avery: The postings -- they feel personal, like this person...knows things about me beyond the cooking show.
Nick: I don't like this. I mean, it's weird.
Avery: And I can't say this to Dylan right now... but I'm really scared.
Colin: I realize the juice is running out on this deal. I have an associate who's going to handle the matter. You'll have your money soon. Okay! Coming, ready or not!
Cane: We both know that Colin is not a straight-and-narrow kind of guy, okay? But we know he wants to be around the kids and watch them grow up, so... I don't think he's gonna do anything illegal that's gonna make us keep the kids away from him.
Lily: I'm sorry. Am I the only one paying attention here? It wasn't that long ago that he set you up to buy the pharmaceutical company for chancellor, and then he only confessed when you cornered him.
Cane: But Colin's all about the money, so there's no payoff if he sabotages me, so I have to believe he did it for the right reasons.
Lily: Revenge is the payoff. Look, cane, regardless of what his motives are, we cannot let our guard down, and we definitely can't let the twins spend the night with him.
Cane: Even if you want to celebrate your birthday?
Lily: No.
Cane: Well, I can always have a party for you here. I can make you an arc de triomphe out of tongue depressors.
Lily: That's very romantic.
Cane: That's 'cause I'm a romantic kind of guy.
Lily: Look, let's just get Charlie's cream, go pick up Mattie, and go home, okay? As long as we're all together, that is all the party that I need.
Kevin: I can get a flight out tomorrow morning -- maybe even tonight.
Lauren: You can't do that, Kevin.
Kevin: Yes, I can. I can be there by breakfast.
Michael: No, you can't go. The doctors aren't quacks conspiring against you. They're professionals. And Chloe knows what she needs.
Kevin: Needs? She needs me.
Lauren: I'm so sorry.
Kevin: Don't. Don't. Don't do that, Lauren. Don't...talk about my marriage like it's over and done.
Michael: We're just saying let Chloe get well. Give her the space to do that.
Lauren: And give yourself the space to heal, too. Come on. Come to dinner with us. We can talk more about this if you like, or -- or something else.
Michael: Yeah.
Lauren: Whatever you want.
Michael: Come on. Come with us. Please. Come on.
Kevin: If I'm gonna be by myself, I'm gonna have to learn how to do it, right? I may as well start now.
Michael: I don't think that's a good idea.
Kevin: I'm fine. I will be fine. Thank you both. I will call you soon. Have a good night.
Nick: I mean, this is what I hate about social media. People can say whatever they want without any repercussions. You remember when Summer was bullying that kid Jamie? I mean, Summer's a great kid. Imagine what it does to people who are already jerks.
Avery: It's just words on a screen, right? And I have to let it go. It's annoying, but it's not -- it's not dangerous.
Nick: Maybe there's a way for you to block that person.
Avery: Yeah. I'll figure it out.
Nick: Of course you will. You're you.
Avery: [Chuckles] Sounds like a compliment.
Nick: It absolutely was.
Avery: This is nice -- you know, that we can sit here and talk as friends.
Nick: We're so evolved.
[Both laugh]
Avery: [Laughing] Yes.
Nick: All right. I got to get to the club.
Avery: Okay. I have to go, too. Oh, god.
Nick: 4mj?
Avery: He just won't stop.
Nikki: And your beloved family keeps growing.
Victor: Oh. That's another story. I guess Victoria told you.
Nikki: Yes, right after she told you. Of course, there's going to have to be a paternity test.
Victor: I'm worried about that paternity test. By now, Billy boy Abbott is separate from Victoria, and I like that. Hopefully, that paternity test won't change that.
Nikki: Well, I certainly hope you didn't tell her that.
Victor: No.
Nikki: Right now she needs all the love and support she can get.
Victor: Sweetheart, I've been very loving and very supportive of her, okay?
Nikki: Just the fact that she told you about the baby was so encouraging to me. But Nicholas... he is still very upset with you. I don't know how the two of you could drift so far apart. How did it get to this?
Victor: He'll get over it.
Nikki: Well, there is optimism, and then there's denial.
Victor: Hmm.
Nikki: I mean, abusing Cassie's memory like that -- it's very upsetting for Nicholas. To be truthful, I really don't know that he's gonna forgive you.
Victor: Let me be very frank with you. The question is, will I forgive him, okay? I am becoming fed up with his petulant attitude towards his father. He grew up, I mean, in paradise. He's a Newman! He grew up with all the opportunities in the world. He was fed with a silver spoon. Now he's upset because I'm trying to save his ass from a bad entanglement and involvement with Sharon? He'll get over it. I'm his biological father. He and I have had fights before.
Nikki: And you've gotten over them before.
Victor: I know. [Sighs] But you know the most important thing, my baby... is that no one or nothing... will ever undo the bond... between the two of us -- no one. Come here.
Victor: Thank you.
Nikki: For what?
Victor: For understanding me.
Nikki: Oh, I understand you, Victor. Sometimes I just don't agree.
Victor: We can talk like adults... and I appreciate that. All I need now... is for you to come home.
Nikki: I know.
Nick: "You claim to work for justice? Don't look now. Justice is about to be served"? What the hell does that mean?
Avery: I have no idea.
Nick: No idea?
Avery: I don't! It could be a hundred different things. But you know what? Like I said, it's just... it's words on a screen, and I have to ignore it.
Nick: No. Avery, please. You got to be careful.
Avery: [Sighs]
Michael: This isn't right. Kevin shouldn't be alone right now.
Lauren: All right. Honey, honey, honey, honey. He said he needed time, all right? You need to respect that.
Michael: No. I know my brother. Losing Chloe is too much. No, especially when he thought he'd just gotten her back.
Lauren: You know what? Your brother is a lot stronger than you give him credit for.
Jill: Esther, where are you?!
Colin: Gotcha!
Jill: No, no, no. I called "time-out."
Colin: No, you didn't.
Jill: I called time-out.
[Doorbell rings]
Jill: Answer the door.
Colin: Hey!
Jill: There you are.
Cane: Hey.
Jill: How are you?
Cane: Good.
Charlie: The nurse gave me a sticker.
Colin: Attaboy!
Cane: Yeah, you were right. It was poison ivy.
Lily: Yeah -- itchy but not dangerous.
Jill: Well, that is a relief, isn't it?
Lily: Yeah.
Cane: All right. Well, listen -- we're not gonna stay. We're gonna get Mattie and go. Where is she?
Colin: Uh, well, wherever she is, I haven't found her 'cause I'm "it." Mattie, come out!
Lily: Uh, you don't know where Mattie is?
Jill: That's kind of the idea of hide-and-seek.
Colin: Mattie, come on! I told you you won!
Cane: Hey! Hey, pretty girl.
Mattie: I won!
Lily: Hi, honey. Are you okay?
Jill: She's wonderful, lily! She adores Colin.
Colin: You know, next time, you bring the little brother and I'll take you both on, and I will show you who's the best hider of the lot.
Lily: Okay. Well, tell Jill and grandpa Colin thank you for having you.
Colin: Thank you. I know. What did you practice?
Mattie: Happy birthday, mommy.
Colin: Hey!
Lily: Aw, thank you, sweetie!
Cane: All right. Well, thank you both.
Jill: Any time. Any time at all.
Lily: All right. Bye.
Jill: Bye-bye. Bye, little ones.
Colin: Bye, kids.
Cane: Bye.
Jill: Ohh.
Colin: Ohh. What a rousing way to spend the evening.
Jill: You were the greatest "it" that ever lived, and where did you finally find poor Esther?
Colin: Uh...I think she's hiding behind the dryer.
Jill: [Laughs] Let's leave her there, okay?
Colin: Got it.
Jill: We'll get the champagne.
Colin: All right. Upstairs.
Jill: [Smooches] Aah!
Colin: What?
Jill: Oh, my god. What the hell? You took my necklace.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Nick: Mariah's out of our lives for good. That's all that matters.
Mariah: Hey, Sharon, I --
Hilary: I am ready for a commitment.
