Episode # 10412 ~ Sharon talks to Jack & Chelsea about Victor; Cane puzzles over the Colin situation.

Provided By Suzanne

Jill: Yoo-hoo. Rise and shine.

[Door closes]

Jill: Look, baby, I brought you a lovely gourmet breakfast. Water -- see? Nice water -- and some really old crackers. They're extremely stale, just the way you like them.

Colin: Thoughtful to a "T."

Jill: [Laughs] Sign the documents, and I will make you the loveliest, hot breakfast you ever saw. Eggs Florentine. You like that. And the spinach will be just right. Not too soggy, not too crispy.

Colin: I'm not signing your bloody papers.

Jill: Look, you can do this the easy way or the hard way, but you will give me a divorce. You will destroy the document that said you have the right to half of what I have.

Colin: If I refuse?

Jill: You know me. I'm very patient.

Colin: [Chuckles] Hardly. But you're cute and careless, and you didn't tell me that cane dropped by looking for me.

Jill: Well, he was looking for you, but he wasn't worried about you. He was worried about me. By the time he left, he wasn't even wondering where you were.

Colin: You realize as the passage of time moves on that, uh, I'm not around, he's gonna become suspicious.

Jill: You know what? I doubt that. But if he does, I'll deal with it. Face it, honey. You're at my mercy.

Victor: Just file the damn motion. We need this hearing delayed, all right?

[Knock on door]

Cane: Victor.

Victor: Cane, come in.

Cane: Thank you. I, uh, came as soon as I got your message.

Victor: So, it seems the feds are wrapping up the investigation. How about yours?

Cane: I am still looking for the proof that you were set up.

Victor: Have a seat, cane.

Cane: Thank you.

Victor: My offer still stands, you know. You help me avert d I'll make you C.E.O. Of chancellor.

Cane: I understand.

Victor: So, what kind of information have you dug up?

Cane: Hey, Jill! I think I found his wallet!

Cane: I need a little more time, Victor.

Victor: I don't have any more time, okay? So you tell me everything you know right now.

Jack: So, how you holding up?

Chelsea: After yesterday, you mean?

Jack: I was happy to have a chance to honor Adam, even if it was a little tense with Victor there.

Sharon: He's the reason I had to miss it.

Jack: Hey.

Sharon: Hi. Seeing Victor's face at Adam's memorial service would have turned my stomach.

Chelsea: He was willing to put aside his differences for the occasion.

Sharon: Trust me when I tell you that man has zero respect for the dead.

Devon: I think the schedule looks great, Kelly.

Kelly: Ah, thank you. Thank you very much. Lily, what -- what do you think? Am I missing anything? Lily?

Lily: Yes. What?

Kelly: The schedule for the next fashion show. I need to confirm that it's okay so I can coordinate with Jabot for the next booking.

Lily: Yeah, no, this looks great. Let's do it.

Devon: You've had your head buried in your phone since you sat down. What's going on with you?

Lily: Well, I've been trying to get ahold of dad since last night so he could join us here for this meeting, and he hasn't gotten back to me. And then I go to his house, and he's not even home.

Devon: Maybe he left for work early.

Lily: No, I called his office. He hasn't even been in yet. I mean, I know that you and cane aren't worried about him. But this is not like him, okay? He's not a hard person to track down.

Kelly: Any time I've needed to reach Neil for business, he hasn't been hard to get ahold of.

Lily: You see? So how worried should I be?

Hilary: Hmm. Oh, god. How late are we?

Neil: And they say I'm all about work.

Hilary: Hmm. Well, you weren't all about work last night.

Neil: I like this part.

Hilary: Mm-hmm.

Neil: Waking up together. In fact, I like everything about this.

Hilary: Not everything.

Neil: "Sneaking around" part.

Hilary: Yeah. Not your favorite?

Neil: You know, Hilary, I've asked you this before. But I'd like to go public with our relationship. How would you feel about that?

Cane: I want to ask you something, and I don't mean to offend you, but is there anything that is possibly tying you or connecting you to viva-surge?

Victor: Like what?

Cane: Uh, old e-mails, phone calls, paper trail of any kind?

Victor: Nothing of the kind, but I was in charge. That makes me liable. Not only legally, but some innocent people were hurt, including my granddaughter Summer, so this has become very personal for me, all right?

Cane: Yeah.

Victor: And I do know that during this time, Jack and Jill were trying to ruin me. I know that for a fact.

Cane: I ruled them both out.

Victor: Why do you say that?

Cane: Well, neither of them could have tricked me into buying Bonaventure 'cause I was the one who steered Jill to the company. And then she probably got suspicious and conveyed that suspicion to Jack, and that's probably just that.

Victor: So that's when they sent in Kyle to dig up some information, right?

Cane: I don't think any of them are behind it. This is a very complicated scheme. There were very few people who were privy to the details of Katherine's trust.

Victor: I disagree with you. I mean, Jill lived in Katherine's house for years.

Cane: You were there when the will was read, and you saw Jill's reaction. I mean, no one -- no one was more shocked than she was.

Victor: Something is right before our eyes, and we can't see it right now.

Cane: [Sighs] Well, I know that you are looking for answers. But all I have right now is questions.

Victor: Keep digging, cane. And thank you for coming by.

Cane: Thank you. [Sighs]

Jill: Cane thinks you've gone back to your old ways. He thinks you're consorting with criminals and running cons. Actually, that led to a very interesting discussion about what fresh, new pain you're about to inflict on me.

Colin: So that's what this is all about? You're hurt, and you want to punish me.

Jill: [Laughs] I don't want to punish you. I'm punishing you. And I'm not hurt. I'm very, very angry at myself for believing that we could have a real marriage, we could have a real partnership.

Colin: Jilly --

Jill: Don't "Jilly" me, okay? You broke our agreement to be honest with each other! You know, it doesn't matter anyway since we have no idea what the music box is worth. Colin, you were about to score, baby, and you blew it, didn't you? So sign the papers, please, so I can help you pack and then I can get on with my life.

Colin: You don't want a divorce any more than I do.

Jill: Oh, god, I didn't. But you've given me no choice now.

Colin: Jill, Jill, I want you. I want our marriage. I want cane and lily, and I want the grandkids, and I want to be part of their life. And as god as my witness, that is the truth. And if you had a peak underneath that armor of yours, you'd know that, too. I know -- hope -- cane would want his father as part of his life.

Jill: Cane does want that, okay? Any man wants that. But he knows he can't have it with you, because the only person on god's green earth that you give a damn about is yourself.

Colin: That's ridiculous. I love my son! You have no idea what I've done to prove that!

Jill: No. Actually, I don't. Why don't you tell me what you've done, Colin?

Devon: Maybe Neil is at the dentist or he's out for a jog or getting his oil changed. There's a million explanations to why he could be out of touch.

Kelly: A million and one. Do you remember what he said to me when you set us up?

Devon: [Chuckles] You set up dad with Kelly?

Kelly: Yeah. [Laughs] Cane had the exact same expression on his face when you threw us together, by the way. Neil very graciously [Laughs] Explained that he was seeing somebody else. I mean, that might explain why he's been incommunicado overnight.

Devon: What? Hang on a second. Neil is seeing someone else? Who is he seeing?

Lily: No one.

Devon: No one we know?

Lily: No, no one. He's saying that so that we don't worry about him.

Devon: I know that's your theory, but --

Kelly: When Neil told me, I believed him.

Lily: He didn't even give you a name.

Kelly: Well, I didn't ask him for a name.

Devon: This makes a lot more sense.

Lily: What does?

Devon: When we were playing basketball earlier, Neil was playing like he was 20 years younger. Cane and I both were like, "who brought the young guy to the court?"

Kelly: Hmm. Back in the game, I think.

Devon: Yeah, he had what you'd call fresh legs.

Lily: Okay, well, I haven't noticed that.

Devon: That's 'cause you haven't played basketball with him. You've convinced yourself he's still mooning over Leslie, but I don't think that's the case at all. I think that you're right. He's met somebody.

Kelly: Mystery solved.

Lily: Hardly, please.

Devon: Frankly, I couldn't be happier for him. I don't know why you're not. Seems to me there's nothing to be concerned about.

Hilary: Have you thought this through? What it would mean for us to go public?

Neil: As a matter of fact, I have thought it through, and I do realize that this is a big step.

Hilary: Yeah, your daughter's head would explode.

Neil: [Chuckles] My daughter. She's just gonna have to find a way to deal with it, that's all. You know, I am her father, but I've got my own life, too. She has absolutely no say in who I'm involved with.

Hilary: You are involved with the woman who victimized her entire family, including you.

Neil: That's ancient history. You know, I want it out in the open. It's how I want to live my life. It's how -- it's how I want to conduct this relationship.

Hilary: I appreciate you saying that, but your kids and everyone else in Genoa City, they are all gonna have their own opinions. Are you really ready to jeopardize all of your other relationships just to take me to a movie? Not to mention you are very high-profile, okay? When this hits the gossip page, whoo! -- Look out.

Neil: Okay. All right. I think you know me by now, Hilary, you know, what I care about. I care about honesty. I care about keeping it real and doing the right thing. I could care less about what those people out there think. The one person that we haven't considered, though, in all this is Devon. I am worried about how he's gonna react to all this.

Colin: I'm a better man now.

Jill: Yeah, so you keep insisting.

Colin: In the process of proving myself to my son, I got into a bit of a financial bind, but I made no secret of that. And besides, it doesn't change anything between us.

Jill: No, you were the one who changed things between us when you kept things from me and then lied about it. So, let me tell you what's gonna happen right now. You are gonna end our marriage and be on your way so I can get on with my life.

Colin: Jill, please. Um, drop the act, all right? You're only this way because you're concerned about how deeply you really feel about me.

Jill: [Laughs] Well, at least you're begging. That's an excellent sign.

Colin: I'm a guy that's never begged in his life. But I'm also a guy that you can love, admire, and respect and give yourself to in bed.

Jill: I'm gonna come back a little bit later when you got that ego of yours under control.

Colin: [Sighs] What do we have here? [Sighs]

Cane: Sorry. I-I knocked. No one heard me, so I just, you know, came in.

Jill: No, no, no. Esther's out shopping. Um, two days in a row. I'm really glad to see you.

Cane: Yeah, me, too, but I can't stay. Um... I'm trying to find my dad. Have you -- have you seen him or heard from him?

Jill: Yeah, I can't tell you anything more about his whereabouts than I did last night.

Cane: It's kind of urgent.

Jill: Can I help, honey?

Cane: [Sighs] Has -- has my dad ever mentioned Bonaventure or do you think he might be associated with the company or anything like that?

Jill: Why would you ask that?

Cane: Last night, I, uh, you know, I was gonna write him a note, so I come over here, I sit down, and this pen's out of ink, so I looked for another pen, and I opened up the drawer, and in it I find his wallet.

Jill: Wow. That doesn't make any sense at all.

Cane: Yeah. Yeah, it doesn't, huh? Who would go around on business and leave their wallet behind?

Jill: Well, obviously your father, I guess. But I wouldn't read too much into that.

Cane: You don't fool me.

Jill: I'm not trying to fool you. I'm not hiding --

Cane: I know what you're thinking.

Jill: What am I thinking, cane?

Cane: You're starting to feel like that suspicion is creeping back, that after all the progress you've made, that my dad's up to something nefarious.

Jill: Well, I'm not a fool, you know. I'm not gonna ignore the past. But I would like to think that my husband would always do the right thing in the end, you know. And as far as this goes, ah, reasonable explanations. I mean, he's got a passport for I.D.

Cane: Yeah.

Jill: Yeah, and he travels with cash and uses a car service.

Cane: Yeah, I mean, they're all very valid points you make, but, you know, really none of them kind of, uh, explain that.

Jill: Bonaventure?

Cane: Yeah. I found it in his wallet last night. And now that creeping suspicion that something's wrong is coming back for me, too. Listen, I want to know where my dad is. I really do. But what I need to know now is, is there any connection, do you think, between my dad and Victor or this company?

Jill: [Sighs]

[Knock on door]

Victor: Come in!

[Door opens]

Victor: Noah! Hi, my boy.

Noah: [Clears throat] Um, I got a call from your lawyer. He wants me to testify on your behalf.

Victor: My lawyer and I have been working hard to clear my name with the FDA, but I need proof, and that proof is hard to come by. That's why I asked you to help us, okay?

Noah: And what makes you think that I would go out of my way to help you after what you did to my mother?

Victor: Because you're my grandson and it's the right thing to do.

Jack: When Victor blackmailed Adam, I thought he couldn't sink any lower. I guess I was wrong.

Sharon: And this isn't what he did to me or just me. I mean, think about faith. She was terrified when I went into the hospital.

Jack: Yeah, for therapy you didn't need.

Chelsea: So, this woman, Mariah, how did Victor even find her?

Sharon: We don't have all the details. At this point, Victor's still denying having anything to do with this.

Jack: I'll bet he is.

Sharon: You have to understand, this woman, Mariah, she doesn't just resemble Cassie. She has the same eyes, the same voice, the same mannerisms. It's beyond eerie.

Chelsea: So, when this woman saw what her presence was doing to you, I mean, how -- how could she continue to do it?

Jack: Oh, I'm sure Victor gave her plenty of incentive, and I'm not talking about cash. No, with the black knight, she probably had very few choices.

Sharon: He coached her, Jack. He gave her all these photos of Cassie so she knew how to do her hair, what clothes to wear.

Jack: I cannot believe he would betray the memory of his own granddaughter.

Sharon: Now you know why I couldn't be there. I just -- I can't stand to be in the same room with him.

Chelsea: I'm just having trouble understanding what -- what Victor's motive would be. I mean, why would he do something like this?

Jack: Because he can and because there is no limit to the amount of damage he's willing to do this enemies.

Chelsea: But there has to be a reason. I mean, I don't think Victor would just do something like this arbitrarily.

Sharon: My god, Chelsea. You're a mother. I can't believe you're defending what Victor did.

Noah: I confided in you that I was worried about my mother because she was hallucinating visions of Cassie. I trusted you, grandpa. And what did you do? You -- you took that private information and you used it to get what you wanted.

Victor: I have absolutely hated some of the things your mother has done, okay?

Noah: When you do stuff like this, grandpa, I know that you like to think that you're protecting your family, but there's no justification for this, for warping my sister's memory like that.

Victor: Listen, I understand that you're angry. But trust me when I tell you, you don't know the whole story.

Noah: My mother did some terrible things to people when she was sick.

Victor: That's putting it mildly.

Noah: When she was sick. That's the part you keep forgetting. Why not extend some understanding, some compassion? I mean, do you despise her that much?

Victor: Listen. I want nothing more than your mother to become well again. I want her to be that beautiful and lovely and honest woman that she once was. And maybe one day, she'll be that again.

Chelsea: I'm not defending what Victor did. I just -- I think there must be more to the story.

Sharon: Victor somehow found out that I have a secret. It's something terrible, something that could hurt Nick, and I-I knew what it was at the time, but I don't remember anymore.

Jack: Because of the electroshock therapy?

Sharon: It's wiped out a lot of my memories.

Chelsea: Victor used this woman to haunt the secret out of you?

Sharon: I suppose that's one way of looking at it. Now, apparently Phyllis knew what the secret was, but since she can't speak --

Jack: Wait, wait. What does Phyllis have to do with this?

Sharon: Jack, I wish I knew.

Jack: I'm sorry. You two weren't close, certainly not close enough to keep a secret.

Sharon: Do you have any idea what it could be?

Jack: Not a clue.

Sharon: I even had my therapist, dr. Mead, hypnotize me, but I still couldn't remember, so I guess we're gonna have to just wait until Phyllis wakes up, and I hope that's soon.

Jack: That may not happen. Her doctors have been saying this for some time now, but until recently, I haven't been able to allow for that outcome.

Chelsea: What changed?

Jack: Something happened that made me think I could maybe move on with my life. That something has come and gone, but it did force me to look at the real possibility that Phyllis may never recover.

Devon: You know I'm right.

Lily: Oh, please. If dad has been seeing someone, which I'm not saying I believe you --

Kelly: [Laughs] Yes! Yes!

Devon: Good news?

Kelly: Yes! Um, [Clears throat] My, uh, lease is up, and I've been looking for a bigger place, and this was my real-estate agent, and she said that she just found this condo sublet that sounds perfect.

Devon: Fantastic.

Lily: That's great. Congratulations.

Kelly: Thank you. No looking back. Only looking forward, right?

Devon: That's a good attitude to have.

Kelly: Thank you. The thing is, is that it's available right now for me to go take a look at, so if you don't mind if I...

Lily: No, please go.

Devon: Sure.

Lily: Yes. Go. Good luck.

Kelly: Thank you. I will be right back.

Lily: Okay. Yeah. Bye.

Kelly: Okay.

Devon: You know, I'm gonna be getting some new digs myself.

Lily: Wow. Finally my billionaire brother tired of living in that funky house near campus.

Devon: Don't forget, you used to live in that funky house, too.

Lily: Ah.

Devon: I just figured I own a hotel. I might as well have all the amenities.

Lily: Yeah. So, you're gonna live here?

Devon: Yeah.

Lily: That's great.

Devon: Thanks. I'm gonna have the, uh, penthouse suite remodeled. It's not like we rent it out often.

Lily: Wow. I bet Esmerelda's excited. She gonna help you decorate?

Devon: No. Why would I ever do that?

Lily: Why wouldn't you?

Devon: 'Cause I'm not interested in her opinion. It's not like we're gonna live there together.

Lily: I thought you guys were serious.

Devon: Not like you think. It's not that kind of relationship.

Hilary: Yeah, we should consider Devon's feelings.

Neil: Yeah, I agree. I think he's gotten past some of the things that you did so long ago. He's even defended you to lily, you know?

Hilary: Hmm. Devon's been a good friend to me.

Neil: I think once I explain to him how we arrived at this point, he'll get behind us. And he'll convince lily to do the same.

Hilary: Or not. I just -- I have to wonder if you realize how much this will complicate your life.

Neil: Well, I care about what you think and what you want.

Hilary: [Sighs] Well...I know what I don't want. And that's for you and your family to have any kind of conflict over the two of us dating.

Neil: Is that the real hang-up? Or is it that you don't see this relationship going anywhere?

Hilary: I don't want you or your family to be hurt by our relationship.

Neil: Is that a nice way of just, you know, saying, "let's be friends"?

Hilary: It's my way of making sure that you are really ready for this.

Neil: Do you still think that this is a rebound thing?

Hilary: Is it?

Neil: All I know is that this feels good, and I don't want to sneak around with you like this. Does that answer your question?

Hilary: Yes.

Neil: Good. Now, answer mine.

Hilary: I have never been with a man like you. Someone who makes me feel so good, like I'm special.

Neil: You're very special. You deserve all the happiness in the world. You know what I'd love? I'd love taking you out, showing you off to the entire world.

Hilary: Hmm. Well, you did promise to take me to a basketball game.

Neil: Oh, yes, I did. And I meant it, too. You know something? I got my eye on two playoff basketball tickets as we speak.

Hilary: Mm-hmm. And you also talked about a jazz concert in the park under the stars.

Neil: And we'll do that. Right now, I'd settle for not having to hide out in your hotel-room suite, even if it means a bumpy ride at first. So how about it? Can I count you in?

Hilary: Hmm. God help me. Yes, I'm in.

Neil: Yeah. That's what I'm talking about.

Lily: Well, I'm surprised. I thought you and Esmerelda were gonna have a future together.

Devon: No, that's not gonna happen 'cause we don't have enough in common.

Lily: Well, you seem like a good match.

Devon: Not really. I've noticed lately she has these certain enthusiasms.

Lily: You think she's faking her enthusiasms?

Devon: No, no, I don't. We're just not in sync, you know? It's not a serious thing.

Lily: You'll find the right girl. She's out there.

Cane: Hey, how'd the meeting go? Hey, babe.

Lily: Hi.

Devon: How you doing, man?

Cane: Good. You good?

Devon: Good. Yeah.

Cane: What'd I miss?

Lily: Uh, well, it's a good thing you're sitting down, because Kelly told us why dad bailed on our fix-up.

Cane: Your fix-up.

Lily: Whatever. Apparently he's seeing someone.

Cane: Get out of here. Who?

Lily: Exactly. Good question.

Cane: Well, that explains the Michael Jordan impersonation, doesn't it?

Devon: Right? I told you.

Lily: Look, I don't buy it. Dad didn't mention anything to us.

Devon: Yeah, but so what if he has met someone? More power to him. Everyone deserves a right to be happy without being judged.

Cane: Amen!

Devon: Right?

Cane: Yes.

Devon: I'm gonna make some phone calls.

Lily: Bye. See you later.

Devon: Bye.

Lily: What's going on? You had that same look on your face when you got back from Jill's last night, so tell me.

Cane: There's nothing going on.

Lily: Cane, come on. Tell me.

Cane: I just -- I just left Victor Newman's office. Feds are all over him. He's worried. I've never seen him worried like this before.

Lily: Is Victor still dangling the C.E.O. job in your face?

Cane: If, and only if, I can find out who set him up.

Lily: And let me guess. You know something, but you're not sure you should tell him.

Cane: Yeah.

[Lock clicking]

Jill: You've been a busy boy.

[Door closes]

Jill: What do you know about Bonaventure?

Colin: Name doesn't ring a bell. What is it? A swingers club?

Jill: Don't play innocent with me, okay? You've been carrying around one of their cards in your wallet.

Colin: Have I?

Jill: This is the company that Victor inherited from Katherine. And it's got him in a very tight bind. Now, you have the phone number of somebody who works there. There is no way in hell that that's a coincidence.

Colin: Look...[Chuckles]

Jill: You think I've been starving you? Unless you want to experience the real thing, so help me god, start talking! Let me in to this other life of yours!

Victor: When your father was about to marry Sharon, I gave them my blessing. I thought she would be good for him. But you know who disagreed? Your grandma.

Noah: What do you want me to do, grandpa? You want me to just forgive and forget and tell the authorities that you didn't know about these energy pills until after Summer?

Victor: I didn't know they were dangerous. Do you think I would have sent you in to analyze the company had I known that? I'm innocent in this. I didn't break any laws.

Noah: My mom was so scared of those visions of Cassie. She was so scared, she let a doctor shoot electricity into her brain. She lost huge pieces of her life.

Victor: By the way, undergoing electroshock therapy was her choice. Nothing to do with me.

Jack: So this Mariah, will she testify? Victor should not get away with this.

Sharon: Um, Nick spoke to Avery. She doesn't think I have a case.

Jack: Oh, come on. That is just -- wait a minute. That's it.

Sharon: What?

Jack: I saw Nikki at the club. She's living there now.

Sharon: Are you saying she walked out on Victor?

Jack: She found out what we found out about Mariah. She's as appalled as we are.

Noah: You paid Mariah to freak my mother out so she would cough up some information. But you're not responsible for the damage it caused. Is that what you're telling me?

Victor: Noah, I will have my lawyer withdraw the request for your appearance. I know that you will tell the truth, but I don't want you to feel that I'm forcing you to do it.

Noah: I will tell the government that to the best of my knowledge you had no idea about the unapproved drugs. Not because I'm your grandson. Because it is the truth. And that is how my mother raised me.

Victor: I have made many a difficult decision in my life. But most decisions I've made to benefit my family -- my children and grandchildren -- so that they wouldn't have to go through the tough times that I went through, okay? Remember that.

Chelsea: That was the property manager at a building that Adam owned, which apparently now I own. There's someone who wants to rent an apartment, but they want to make structural changes? I don't even know how to handle that.

Jack: So, give me the address. I'll look into it for you.

Chelsea: No, Jack, that's --

Jack: Chelsea, this is what I do. Let me help.

Chelsea: Okay. Fine.

Jack: Nice to see you.

Sharon: You, too.

Chelsea: Here you go.

Jack: I will see what I can find out. I'll get right back to you.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Sharon: Chelsea, I know you don't want to think the worst of Victor.

Chelsea: He's one of the few people I've been able to count on, Sharon. You're finding your way back to Nick, but Adam's gone. I'm all alone. My husband is...dead and buried, just like your secret.

Sharon: Unfortunately, Adam won't be back. But it's possible the secret that I've buried will and it'll blow up my life when I least expect it.

Colin: Whatever problems the old Vic has got has nothing to do with me.

Jill: Okay. Hope you enjoy the crackers. That's the last food you're gonna be getting in awhile.

Colin: You can threaten me all you like, but I have nothing to offer you regarding Victor's problems. And I have no intention of signing that contract. I got to tell you, though, I should thank you for bringing me up here. This filthy, old attic is a treasure trove of interesting information, including something that's really on both our minds -- the real key to the music box. Let me out and I'll share it with you.

Jill: Oh, my god. You must think I'm so stupid.

Colin: This is the real deal, the genuine article.

Jill: Says the biggest liar on the face of the earth! Oh!

[Door opens, closes]

Lily: So, you think Colin set up Victor?

Cane: I don't want to point any fingers. You tell me, what sort of man goes away on a business trip and leaves his wallet at home in a desk drawer?

Lily: Well, maybe he took a different wallet, one with a fake I.D. For whatever business he's really into.

Cane: You know, I've seen this different side of Colin lately, the way he's been with me, with you, with Jill, the twins. You know, I have no reason to believe he's up to anything, and then I find this Bonaventure business card in his wallet. I mean, what am I gonna do if I find out he's responsible for creating this crisis?

Lily: Is that why you didn't tell Victor about the business card?

Cane: What? You think I'm going soft on the old man?

Lily: I'm not judging. I'm just asking.

Cane: I just don't know what to do. 'Cause Victor wants proof. And until Colin comes back and I can question him, it's all just speculation.

Lily: What if Colin is responsible for all this? Are you gonna turn him in to Victor and the authorities then?

Cane: [Sighs]

Sharon: Do you think Victor was right? Do I deserve what he did to me because Nick needed protecting?

Chelsea: Of course not. I'm sorry he put you through that, Sharon.

Sharon: Well, I know you've been relying on him more and more, but don't get too close. You and I know better than most people what Victor Newman is really capable of.

Chelsea: You're not the first person to warn me.

Sharon: Yeah, I won't be the last.

Chelsea: The thing is, since Adam was killed, I've spent a lot of time with Victor, and he -- he cared about his son a lot more than he ever let on. And I wish both of them hadn't driven each other to do the things that they did, but we both know how that can happen.

Sharon: I suppose we do.

Chelsea: What's really struck me is how much he adores his grandson. I mean, that really is the best part of him, Sharon, the love he has for his family.

Sharon: Yeah, it would be if it didn't get twisted around and used as a weapon.

Victor: If you think I'm going down without a fight, you're sadly mistaken.

Victor: I know that you and Jack, along with Kyle, were conspiring to bring me down. Don't deny it.

Jill: Wouldn't dream of it.

Victor: Were you successful?

Jill: Excuse me?

Victor: Spare me. Were you and Jack behind my difficulties with the food and drug administration?

Jill: "Behind"? What does that mean?

Victor: You know exactly what it means. What do you know?

Jill: Okay, I'll tell you what I told cane. Except for what I read in the press, I know nothing about your current predicament.

Victor: So, cane has talked to you about this? When did he do that?

Jill: A little while ago.

Victor: Really? That's good information. You have a nice day.

Jill: Yeah, you, too.

[Door opens, closes]

Jill: Damn you, Colin. Have you really discovered something else about this box?

Colin: [Sighs]

Jack: Hello!

Kelly: Jack! What are you doing here?

Jack: Would you believe me if I told you this is a total coincidence?

Kelly: [Sighs]

Hilary: [Chuckles] Well, you can't leave here looking too rumpled.

Neil: Hmm. Once I have the chance to tell the news, we're not gonna have to hide any telltale signs.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Sharon: I'd like to get to know more about you.

Nick: Back off. Sharon and I are still together.

Victor: That's what you came here to say to me?

Nick: Not by a long shot.
