Episode # 10357 ~ Jack confronts Billy about Kelly; things heat up between Abby & Tyler.
Provided By Suzanne
Jack: Let's set the meeting up for 2:00, okay?
Hilary: Okay. Should we include Geraldine from advertising?
Jack: You know what? That's a great idea. By the way, have I told you I've heard a lot of positive feedback on the new campaign?
Hilary: Oh, about the exfoliator?
Jack: Yeah. As a matter of fact, when we get back to the office, I'd like to see the numbers on that. I'd like to see how well we did.
Hilary: Actually, we did very well.
Jack: Have I told you lately how amazing you are?
Hilary: Jack...
Jack: No, honestly. You seem to anticipate my every need.
Hilary: Okay, you know what? I can't do this. We need to talk about what happened the other night, okay, about the...kiss.
Stitch: I see a night's sleep hasn't help you any.
Kelly: Oh, you don't want to go there, Ben. I'm in no mood for a lecture about how I ruined another marriage.
Billy: [Groans] [Groans]
Victoria: [Clears throat]
Billy: Hey. [Groans] Good morning.
Victoria: How are you feeling?
Billy: A little sore, but, uh, otherwise all right.
Victoria: Well, I told you I would have taken the couch.
Billy: No. It's all right. You know, if anybody deserves a few springs poking in their side, it's me, right?
Victoria: I'm gonna start breakfast.
Billy: Vicki, wait. You never answered my question last night. Are you going to be able to forgive me for sleeping with Kelly?
[Glass crunching]
Devon: This is just great.
Neil: Could have been a lot worse.
Devon: A charity event with Delia's name on it was ruined, all of the guests were held hostage, and my brother-in-law got shot. I would hate to see it worse.
Leslie: All I can say is thank god you're okay.
Tyler: Oh, well --
Leslie: You took a hell of a chance going after Womack and that thug.
Tyler: I was not the only one, all right? It was actually cane and Neil's idea.
Leslie: Oh, don't worry. Trust me. I know. Neil warns me not to do anything reckless, and seconds later, he's out there playing the hero.
Devon: You know, Neil's not the kind of guy who's gonna just sit down during a hostage situation.
Leslie: Okay, you fools could have been killed.
Devon: Oh, okay. All right. Admit it -- you know you're proud to be marrying a guy who's willing to put his life on the line like that.
Leslie: I am proud to be in love with a man like that, yes, and...not marrying him.
Tyler: So, wait. You're not getting married?
Leslie: I called it off.
Tyler: But you just said you were in love with Neil.
Leslie: Yeah, but that doesn't mean we need to make it legal to prove it.
Tyler: I don't understand. Why did you accept his proposal in the first place?
Leslie: Because he was so adamant about the whole picket-fence, till-death-do-you-part thing. I mean, I just -- I was afraid I would lose him if I didn't go through with it.
Tyler: So, how did he take it when you shut it down?
Leslie: I mean, he probably would have handled it better if I just leveled with him from the start.
Tyler: Mm, so, in other words, he flipped out?
Leslie: Yeah, well, considering I missed our appointment with the wedding planner, I-I can't say I blame him.
Tyler: You left him hanging?
Leslie: Not on purpose. There was a lot going on that day. Billy was just admitted to the hospital, and then after I -- okay. Yeah. I messed up.
Tyler: So, that's it? You guys are through?
Leslie: Once he calmed down, I was able to explain my point of view.
Tyler: What, that you're a commitmentphobe?
Leslie: Oh, shut up.
Tyler: I'm just calling it like I see it.
Leslie: Listen, I have handled way too many divorces in my career. I've seen so many relationships just -- just fall apart once that contract is signed. Look at mom and dad.
Tyler: Oh, no. Don't do that, all right? She cheated on him. You wouldn't do that to Neil.
Leslie: Well, I would do something to disappoint him, and he'd disappoint me. It's inevitable.
Tyler: Okay, so you guys aren't gonna disappoint each other if you stay single?
Leslie: The expectations are different. Neil understands that.
Tyler: I don't know. I hope so. I mean, he's a really good guy. Anyway, I'll see you later. I got to get to the gym.
Neil: Yeah, it is a mess, but it's nothing you can't clean up. The insurance company will, uh, cover the damage. You know that.
Devon: Yeah, they don't cover the damage to the place's reputation. That could take years to get back.
Neil: So, wait a minute. What are you saying? You're not -- you're not gonna give up on this place, are you?
Devon: I don't know. Would you hang on to it?
Neil: I thought you had finally found something that you were really passionate about, that you were gonna commit to.
Devon: I did. It felt right to give people a roof over their heads and a good meal, a place to pamper themselves, all the things that I didn't have growing up.
Neil: Well, what do you do? You stick with it, right? Not only for your sake but for other people, too, like lily and cane. I mean, you know how much they enjoy working here, don't you?
Devon: I know that. Last thing I want to do is let them down.
Neil: This club has survived a lot of tough times. What was it? The businesswoman of the year event when carmine -- he switched out the tapes with him and Lauren, right? Then there was Ricky Williams. He died here.
Devon: Mm-hmm.
Neil: Then the explosion in the basement, right? This place has seen a lot of drama, and even after all that, people still keep coming back.
Devon: It just feels different, though. It really does.
Neil: Well, that's because you're the boss now, you know? It's all on your head. I believe that you have the determination and ingenuity to push this place forward.
Devon: I don't know about that.
Neil: No, you do know. "I don't know" is not in your vocabulary. What do they say? When you fall off the horse, what happens, man?
Devon: [Sighs] When you fall off the horse, you go get a car.
Neil: No, you don't go get a car. You get right back in the saddle, don't you?
Devon: Yeah. What the hell. Why not?
Neil: That's good enough. I guess I can accept "why not?" Right?
Devon: I'll, uh -- I'll go buy another hotel.
Neil: No! You're not gonna buy another -- you already have a hotel.
Devon: Buy a baseball team.
Neil: Wait, check this out. I can see me --
Devon: [Chuckles] See you doing what?
Neil: In the stadium, eating a hot dog while I manage the cubs.
Devon: Manage the cubs? I'd need to see your résumé.
Neil: Man, you remember. Don't forget I took you off the streets.
Devon: You did. I'm just playing. I would do anything in the world for you.
Neil: I feel the same way about you. But I still see that something's wrong. What's up?
Devon: I've been thinking a lot about the other night. That guy had a gun, and you could have been killed. Lily could have been killed. We all could have. I was legitimately scared. Leslie -- she must have been freaked. I bet she can't wait to get you down the aisle now.
Tyler: [Chuckles] Oh, it's you.
Abby: Who'd you think it was?
Tyler: I don't know. You could have been anybody.
Abby: Anyone except for Mariah.
Tyler: What are you talking about?
Abby: I went to see her. And now we won't have to worry about her anymore.
Hilary: You are being so patient sitting here with me, pretending that it didn't happen, but it did. I kissed you. And it was completely inappropriate. I don't know what I was thinking.
Jack: You had a little too much champagne, that's all.
Hilary: That doesn't excuse it, okay? I'm your employee, your assistant. I should be someone that you are able to trust, rely on, respect.
Jack: And a kiss changes all of that?
Hilary: Maybe it should. There are just lines that shouldn't be crossed. Jack, not only are you my boss, you are in love with another woman, engaged to be married, and the last thing that you need is someone trying to take advantage of your fiancée's incapaci--
Jack: If I thought it was in any way calculated on your part, I would agree. It was an impromptu, spur-of-the-moment thing.
Hilary: Sure, but why did I have to act on my impulses? You have been so kind to me. I can't even remember the last time that anyone has treated me this well.
Jack: What you're feeling is gratitude.
Hilary: Yeah, I guess. Why did I have to...express it that way?
Jack: I don't know. Because you're human? We all make mistakes, especially if we're gonna live a full life. Listen to me. You have an amazing life ahead of you, and I have no question in my mind that you'll find the perfect person to share it with. It just won't be me.
Hilary: Well, there is someone. [Scoffs] It's not happening.
Jack: Give it time. I got to go, okay?
Hilary: Okay. Again, I am so sorry.
Jack: No more apologies.
Hilary: Okay.
Jack: What you did was very innocent compared to a lot of things that went on at that fundraiser.
Billy: Vicki, I couldn't live with what I did with Kelly. I hated myself for it, pushed it to the back of my mind. I put it aside. I made like it never happened. I never wanted to hurt you. I didn't want you to think that Kelly meant anything to me, because she doesn't. And that is why I lied. We were finally reconnecting, and I couldn't risk screwing that up.
Victoria: You already told me that, Billy.
Billy: [Sighs] Just -- [Groans] I know. But I need to tell you again. I need you to know that I love you and that was a one-time thing. It was a mistake that will never happen again, I swear to you, Vicki.
Victoria: Just calm down. Take it easy. Take it easy. Okay, you're gonna end up back in the hospital.
Billy: Just tell me we can find a way through this. Please. I've already lost Dee Dee. I-I can't lose you.
Victoria: Don't you dare put that on me.
Billy: It's not like that, Vicki. I-I-I wasn't trying to lay some guilt trip on you or use Delia to hold on to you.
Victoria: Okay, look, I know you wouldn't do that, okay? Maybe we should just talk about this later.
Billy: Look, I need you to understand.
Victoria: Yeah, I do. I understand. I get why it happened. You were broken up about Dee Dee, and you found someone else who lost a child, too, someone who shared your pain, shared it in a way that you didn't think I could understand. And you turned to her to take the pain away.
Billy: That is all I wanted. I wanted to stop hurting.
Victoria: And Kelly was the only one that could do that. You needed her.
Billy: I need you. You know that. Tell me you know that.
[Knock on door]
Victoria: I'll get it. Hi, Jack. [Sighs]
Jack: Hey, I hope it's not too early. I heard Billy was released from the hospital, and I just wanted...
Victoria: Yes. Jack, come on in.
Jack: Hey. Somebody's looking a whole lot better than the last time I saw him.
Billy: Yeah. Hey, Jack. Listen, I-I-I want to visit with you, but --
Victoria: Actually, I have some errands to run that I've been neglecting, so I'm gonna do that. Will you look after him while I'm gone?
Jack: Sure.
Victoria: Great. I won't be long.
Jack: Wow. It's as bad as all that, huh?
Stitch: No lectures. I promise.
Kelly: Well, you don't really need to say anything. I can see the accusations in your eyes.
Stitch: Oh, really? Okay, well, how's this? Huh? Any better? Bah-bah-bah-bah.
Kelly: [Chuckling] You've always been such a goof.
Stitch: Some things never change. Look, Kel, I'm not blaming you for what happened with Billy. It was a mutual thing, and I know the pain that came out of.
Kelly: Well, you kind of do. You still have your son.
Stitch: You're right. I'm sorry.
Kelly: I miss him, Ben. I miss Sam. I miss being a mommy, being a wife, but I blew that. Now I'm making a mess out of everything here. No wonder I'm alone.
Stitch: You don't have to be alone, Kel. You could have me.
Tyler: Are you for real? You went to go see Mariah?
Abby: Only after you went to go see her, which I was not happy about, if you recall. I wanted to remind your ex that she was just that -- your ex.
Tyler: You didn't.
Abby: I did. I went to tell her to stop calling you, to stop stalking us, and that if she ever locked me in an apartment again, I would rip out her cheap extensions and wrap them around her scrawny little neck.
Tyler: Oh, how'd that go over?
Abby: It didn't.
Tyler: What, did she toss you out?
Abby: No, she wasn't there. She'd already checked out.
Tyler: She did?
Abby: Whatever you said worked. Mariah gave up. She's gone, she left town, and now we can move on with our lives.
Tyler: What did you have in mind?
Devon: What brings you back to the scene of the crime?
Hilary: You know me.
Devon: You're a thrill seeker?
Hilary: I can't live without my phone.
Devon: Mm, okay. Well, at least one thing was salvaged from that night.
Hilary: Do hostages get a discount on the room?
Devon: Frankly, I'm surprised that you even want to stay, 'cause guests have been checking out in bunches.
Hilary: Well, I look at it this way -- chances are pretty slim they'll be another armed stand-off here again.
Devon: [Chuckles] If only everyone had your attitude.
Hilary: Well, I wasn't scared of a couple of guys with guns. For the last few months, I've been putting up with lily.
Devon: [Chuckles]
Esmerelda: Devon, oh, my god. I read about what happened in
GC buzz. It was even worse than you described it.
Devon: Yeah.
Esmerelda: I'm so glad you're okay.
Devon: Thank you. Thanks.
Neil: Hey, there.
Leslie: Hey.
Neil: Avery told me you'd be here. I'm glad I found you.
Leslie: Well, I mean, I wish I could ask you to join me, but I just -- I have to prep for this meeting.
Neil: You know what, baby? This, uh -- this won't take long.
Leslie: Neil...
Neil: Honey, just a few minutes, that's all.
Leslie: I mean, is it -- is it really that important?
Neil: Yes, it is. It's more important than anything. And I'm counting on the fact that you're gonna feel the exact same way.
Leslie: Okay, so, what's this all about?
Neil: What happened up in the ball room the other night, right? I really -- I haven't been able to shake it.
Leslie: I don't think any of us has.
Neil: Right, so I-I keep on replaying that same moment in time when Womack had his gun pointed at me.
Leslie: Did your life flash before your eyes?
Neil: No, not -- not exactly. That's not what -- no. It didn't.
Leslie: Well, you know what flashed before mine?
Neil: Mm?
Leslie: Your future, or should I say your lack of one? Baby, what on god's green earth were you thinking making yourself a target like that?
Neil: Well, what did you expect me to do, stand there and let the guy pick off people I love, including you? I care about you very deeply. I love you.
Leslie: And I love you, too.
Neil: Okay. Enough to let me speak what's on my mind right now?
Leslie: Mm, wow. That sounds ominous.
Neil: No. Not at all. I'm kind of hoping that, um, something really wonderful comes out of this.
Leslie: Comes out of what?
Neil: Okay, um, I know how you feel about marriage. I know you don't believe in marriage. I know that you really don't see any point to it.
Leslie: That's right.
Neil: Right, so when I was staring down the barrel of that gun, I had an epiphany. It hit me that being married -- it does matter. It matters a lot to me.
Esmerelda: At first, I was so mad at you for standing me up, but then you called me and told me about the gunman, and I-I mean, I couldn't --
Devon: I know. It was a bad day. But, listen, I have to, uh -- I have to deal with the safety inspector, 'cause he's asking about our electrical system, and then I have to track down Hilary's phone.
Esmerelda: Sure. Go do what you have to do. I'll wait here.
Devon: Okay. It might take a while, though. That's why I bring it up.
Esmerelda: You're worth it.
Devon: All right. See you.
Esmerelda: Devon's a great guy. [Chuckles] At least he seems that way. I mean, I don't know, really, much about him other than he owns this place and that he inherited a gazillion dollars.
Hilary: [Chuckles] Well, he didn't tell you about himself?
Esmerelda: Not a word.
Hilary: But I thought you two were...
Esmerelda: Yeah, I slept with him, but that was just sex. [Chuckles] Awesome sex.
Hilary: Wow. [Chuckles]
Esmerelda: Oh, hell. Are you sleeping with him, too?
Jack: He still asleep?
Billy: Yeah. [Chuckles] My kid is definitely not a morning person.
Jack: Yeah, he got that from his old man.
Billy: Yeah, I was watching him just now, and, uh...he looks so peaceful, you know -- a little smile on his face. I love my son so much, Jack. I love my family, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to make this right with Victoria, I sw--
Jack: I wish you had taken my advice to step away from Kelly.
Billy: She helped me cope, Jack. Talking to her made is possible to get through the day.
Jack: Talking to her didn't get you into this trouble. You couldn't talk to her over the phone? And why coffee? Coffee leads to drink. Drink leads to --
Billy: All right, already! Haven't you beaten me up enough?
Jack: I am trying to get through to you, to get you to listen for once. Look, I am in no position to judge. God knows that. But you have a woman who has stood by you time and again, and you consistently let her down.
Billy: I was drowning, Jack. I couldn't breathe.
Jack: And what, Kelly offered a lifeline and a cocktail and a warm bed?
Billy: No, no, no. Don't. Don't talk about her like that.
Stitch: It was your choice to walk away from this relationship.
Kelly: Yes. You don't think that I remember how things were with us? Me on. You don't think that I want some of those moments back?
Stitch: Well, then...
Kelly: Ben, some things just can't be healed.
Stitch: Okay, I don't believe that's true. Okay, but for it to get better, you have to be open to it. You have to be willing to reach out or grab the hand that's reaching out to you.
Kelly: I did that with Billy. I just wanted to connect with someone, just feel something. And you see how that turned out.
Stitch: My divorce is going through. Things are changing for me, Kel.
Tyler: You know, I hate fighting, but the making-up part? Whoo, it sure has its perks.
Abby: Oh, it sure does. That was...oh.
Tyler: Yes, it was.
Abby: [Sighs] Listen. I'm sorry that I've been so jealous of Mariah.
Tyler: Hey.
Abby: Yeah?
Tyler: You know it's only you, right?
Abby: I do. Yeah. I guess I just need to be reminded sometimes. I haven't exactly had the best role models when it comes to lasting relationships. My mom's been married six -- seven times, and then my dad -- I guess it just depends on who's keeping score. [Chuckles]
Tyler: Lost count, huh?
Abby: Yeah. There's a gray area. And now my sister's marriage may be falling apart.
Tyler: Yeah, but it's not over. I mean, she and Billy can still make it.
Abby: When did you get so optimistic about love? [Chuckles]
Tyler: Well, I mean, I don't know. I guess, just like you, I never really had a good example of it growing up. So, I guess it's no surprise that my first real relationship -- it just backfired. It was no fun getting cheated on.
Abby: Mnh-mnh.
Tyler: But then I met you, so... [Chuckles] You make me believe that it's possible to be happy and be loved.
Abby: You make me believe in love, too.
Leslie: So, you were kidding yourself when you said you were okay with the status quo.
Neil: Yeah. I-I-I thought I could deal with it. I thought I had to deal with it. It's -- it's what you wanted.
Leslie: It still is.
Neil: Even after everything that we just went through?
Leslie: Well, being held hostage doesn't change anything. I still have the same concerns I did before.
Neil: All right, Leslie. I understand that. I get it. I-I understand that you watched your parents in a bad relationship growing and that, you know, you've seen a lot of other lousy marriages in your practice. But what you don't see are the good ones out there. I mean, you know, there are people who walk into your office, right? They're not singing about how wonderful and happy their marriage is.
Leslie: Uh, yeah. Hardly.
Neil: But that doesn't mean that they're not out there. Wait a minute. Let's -- let's look at lily and cane's marriage for a minute, how happy they are, right? I mean, did you watch them at the benefit the other night?
Leslie: No. I was too busy watching Billy tell Victoria he slept with another woman. Why? Why put ourselves through that, Neil?
Neil: [Sighs] What if I had died the other night? You'd have nothing to fall back on, no record to show what we meant to each other.
Leslie: But I don't need a record.
Neil: Don't you understand that people are fighting all over the globe just to claim that record?
Leslie: Yeah, to get the benefits that come with it -- medical coverage, social security.
Neil: No, that's not just that. They want their relationship to be validated, to be acknowledged. Honey, they -- they want to be able to say, "we were here and we loved each other and we left a lasting legacy of our love to prove that." They want it to have mattered.
Leslie: It -- it matters either way.
Neil: No, it doesn't, not legally, not before god. I don't want to hurt your feelings here, but, Leslie, you've never been married before. You've never stood in a church before a pastor or a minister, before god and pledged yourself to another human being. I have. I know what it's like. Something happens, something very spiritual, and we'd be cheating ourselves if we accepted less. Honey, I-I know. I know that you don't want to ruin what we have. I don't either. And I-I know that you've been afraid. I've been afraid, too. But that's no way to live. Take a chance with me. I'll walk -- I'll walk right beside you -- not ahead of you, not behind you, but beside you. Together, we can overcome whatever is placed in our way, good, bad, or indifferent. I'm asking you right now -- take a leap of faith with me.
Kelly: Don't worry, Victoria. I am leaving. I also want to tell you that I'm also leaving the bereavement group. I'm finding another one.
Victoria: Oh. Wow. Isn't that generous of you?
Kelly: Listen, you have my word that I --
Victoria: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [Chuckles] I know. But despite your best intentions, you keep showing up.
Kelly: I don't blame you for hating me. But I do not want to cause you any more trouble, so if you can just...
Victoria: I'm not finished.
Stitch: Victoria. Victoria.
Victoria: What are you doing?
Stitch: I was about to ask you the same thing.
Billy: I mean, you make her sound like a bar-hopping piece of trash.
Jack: Billy, that wasn't my intention.
Billy: Kelly is a woman living alone with the pictures and memories of her dead son. I mean, she's just looking for relief. And so am I.
Jack: Sleeping with each other isn't the way to get there, Billy. You stepped over the line.
Billy: Oh, you know what? When you have a dead kid, you know, you can come and preach to me all you want, all right? I-I'm sorry. Okay. I-I shouldn't have said that. I know you and Nikki lost a child.
Jack: That was a long time ago. But, yes, I have some idea of what you're dealing with, but I don't understand why you would put the one thing working in your life -- your marriage -- at risk.
Billy: Well, so, losing a baby didn't affect your marriage with Nikki, huh? I mean, you're still happily married, right?
Jack: Attacking me isn't gonna help you here, pal. I'm your family. I'm trying to find another way for you. Let me help you.
Billy: You don't understand. [Groans]
Jack: But -- but Kelly does?
Billy: That night, I-I looked into her eyes, and I saw recognition. It was that of "I get it. I see it. I-I-I feel it. I know what you're going through, and you do not have to fight this alone anymore."
Jack: Billy, is there more going on here than you're saying? Are you in love with Kelly?
Billy: No, what? No! No, I'm not in love with Kelly.
Jack: Are you sure about that?
Billy: It's nothing like that.
Jack: If there's an emotional attachment as well as a physical attraction, Billy, you got to face up to it.
Billy: It's appreciation, all right? Commiseration. There's no romance involved.
Jack: Okay. Okay. I'm relieved to hear that. Because the last thing in the world you need right now is to complicate your life by loving two women at the same time.
Billy: [Chuckles] That only makes me half a screw-up, right? I'm so tired. I'm so tired of making mistakes. You know, I tried to be a good father to Delia, Jack. I got her a puppy when -- when she begged for one. I sat in the center seat at her school play and I cheered her on and I got her ice cream and it was all over in the time it took me to leave her in a car alone and go to the store and... I failed her. I failed Vicki. Hell, [Chuckles] I even failed Kelly. I mean, she needed a friend, not a lover.
Jack: What are you gonna do about it, Billy? How are you gonna fix this?
Stitch: Look, Kelly told you she was gonna steer clear. She's trying to be respectful.
Victoria: [Chuckles] Yeah, it's a little too late for that.
Stitch: What she did was wrong. There's no doubt about that, but under the circumstances --
Victoria: You know what? The death of a child, no matter how tragic, does not give a person a license to go after another woman's husband.
Stitch: [Chuckles] I can't imagine Kelly went after Billy. And he was just as responsible for what happened as she was.
Victoria: Wow. Since when are you team Kelly? You were never her cheerleader before.
Stitch: I am just trying to point out that she isn't solely to blame, so you might want to think where else to direct that anger.
Victoria: Do you think I haven't had it out with Billy? I have. I've had it out with him many times. I just get tired of trying to protect him from the world and from himself. It's time for him to grow up and start taking responsibility and realize that there are consequences for his actions.
Stitch: I-I know you've had to put up with a lot.
Victoria: Yeah. Yeah, I have. Maybe I'm a masochist.
Stitch: Or... maybe you know there's a better man in there somewhere, a man who loves you very much who just needs a break, needs you to hang in there just a little while longer, and then...if that's the case, it gives me hope. [Chuckles]
Victoria: It does? [Sighs]
Stitch: I like to think that people who belong together end up together.
Devon: Where did Esmerelda go?
Hilary: To fix her face. [Chuckles] Her words, not mine.
Devon: I guess that's what I get for dating a model, right?
Hilary: I'm not saying a word.
Devon: [Chuckles]
Hilary: Well, it seems like things are going well between you and your girlfriend. And, by the way, I set her straight about the two of us.
Devon: The two of us? What, did she think that you and I were...?
Hilary: Crazy, right?
Devon: Yeah. It is. It is. And by the way, I wouldn't exactly call her that.
Hilary: Call her what?
Devon: My girlfriend. So, how are things with you and Jack?
Hilary: Jack?
Devon: Jack.
Hilary: Wow. Oh. [Chuckles] You saw us?
Devon: Uh-huh.
Hilary: Uh, that was -- that was nothing.
Devon: Mm. It didn't look like nothing to me.
Hilary: Seriously, Devon, it was --
Esmerelda: Oh, good. You're back. And just in time. I've got something chilled and something hot to reward you for your bravery. Come on.
Devon: Okay. Hang on just a second. Just one second. Hilary...
Hilary: Thanks.
Devon: Yeah.
Leslie: I appreciate everything you're saying, okay, about, you know, exchanging vows and being in church.
Neil: Leslie, there's no feeling quite like it in the world.
Leslie: Isn't the point to actually live the things people say in those vows? I mean, signing a piece of paper will not help you do that.
Neil: I-I don't know. Don't be too sure.
Leslie: Okay, well, let me put it this way. It won't help me. Okay? I plan on loving you and standing by you and being faithful to you regardless of whether I've entered into a binding contract with you or not.
Neil: "Binding"? It sounds so odd to me the word you just said -- "binding." I mean, it almost sounds like you're trapped here.
Leslie: Okay. I-I-I want to be with you because it's what I choose, not because it's what's expected of me.
Neil: It's all about choice. And it's my choice to be married.
Leslie: So... is this an ultimatum?
Abby: I love how we can be all serious and corporate and then we can sneak off and fool around.
Tyler: Yeah. Secret lives of Abby and Tyler.
Abby: Mm-hmm. There is no chance of us ever becoming a boring old married couple.
Tyler: What?
Abby: Oh, my god. I just said that. I just used the "m" word.
Neil: I want to make this official. I want to commit to you in every possible way, and I'd like for you to join me.
Leslie: And if I can't, then what?
Stitch: Do you really, truly believe that you and Billy belong together?
Victoria: Yes. Absolutely.
Stitch: Then take it from a guy whose marriage fell apart -- don't give up unless you absolutely have to. Fight for Billy, fight for your family, fight with everything you have.
Victoria: Don't you think I want to do that? Don't you think I want to forgive him and start over? I just don't know if I have it in me anymore.
Billy: I wish I knew the answer to that. I want so much to make this up to Vicki, but it...
Jack: Go ahead. But what?
Billy: I'm just afraid I'm gonna screw it up again. [Chuckles] Push her even further away. [Groans]
Jack: It wouldn't surprise me a bit if you did.
Billy: Why, Jack? Why do I do this?
Jack: You keep sabotaging yourself, Billy. You have been doing this to yourself since you were a kid. Why, I don't know. Maybe you thought you were a nuisance to dad, keeping him tied to Jill. Whatever the origins were, I -- your low opinion of yourself has only gotten worse, and now, with Delia's death, you've taken punishment to a whole new level. You can't stop punishing yourself. And now you're punishing Victoria for loving you, because, deep down, you don't believe for one minute you deserve her.
Billy: [Voice breaking] Help me, Jack. Help me change this. Help me save my marriage.
Jack: Come here.
Billy: [Sniffles]
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Leslie: So, let me get this straight. Are you seriously saying that if I won't marry you, that it's over between us?
Ian: [Chuckles] This should do it.
Nikki: Oh, my god. Not Summer! Damn you!
