Episode # 10356 ~ Billy & Victoria talk about their marriage; Chloe must face the music; Courtney tries to fix things with Noah.
Provided By Suzanne
Dylan: [Sighs]
Avery: This is nice. And not alarming at all.
Dylan: It's just coffee.
Nick: Yep. Nothing to scare off the clientele. We're just, you know, talking. I still can't believe you own this place. I mean, I really like what you've done with it, too.
Dylan: Yeah, a complete overhaul since Kevin sold it to me. I think I changed a plant. Did you notice?
Nick: Yeah, the plant's cool.
Dylan: Yeah, I like plants.
Nick: Me too.
Avery: Okay, thank you very much for this performance from the Genoa City players, but I'm not buying it. You're up to something. What is it? Is this about Ian Ward?
Summer: Are you sure you don't mind me following you to your hotel to get the test?
Ian: Well, I wouldn't be much of a mentor if I slowed down the search for your path. And it's not a test as in you can pass or fail. It's information. What I need to help guide you. So, you take it home and fill it out at your leisure.
Summer: But if I do it now, we could start that much sooner, right?
Ian: Would you like to stay and do it?
Summer: Yeah, I would. If that's okay.
Ian: Whatever you want.
Summer: Okay. Thanks.
Chelsea: Oh, thank god. Thank god. Connor, mommy's here. Chloe.
Chloe: Shh.
Victor: You did a very good job with him. He looks very good. Thank you.
Chelsea: Chloe, that little baby is Connor. He's a little boy. Remember? He's my little boy. It's not Delia.
Chloe: I'm not delusional, Chelsea. I know exactly who this baby is. Delia was wonderful and perfect. And she's gone.
Victor: Chloe, little Connor is Chelsea's baby. Chelsea's and Adam's. The boy belongs to Chelsea. Why don't you give him back to her now?
Chloe: No. Connor belongs here. With me. Because I deserve him. And you don't.
Victoria: Do you want to go upstairs?
Billy: It looks a little steep from down here. Sofa works.
Victoria: The doctor says you need to get a lot of rest and stay hydrated. So, I will get some water and some food. Johnny's with a sitter.
Billy: Hey, please. Sit. I tried to kiss you and you backed away. And now you won't even sit with me? Okay, if you were mad at me and throwing things, I could duck, I could try and fix it, but... this -- talk to me, Vicki. Please. Talk to me.
Chelsea: He's my son. Chloe, Connor is -- is my baby. You know I love him more than anything in the world.
Victor: Chloe, please give the boy back to Chelsea, his mother.
Chloe: You made Adam. And you loved him. And he killed my daughter. You don't deserve this baby. Neither of you do. Because he is too perfect.
Chelsea: I don't understand. At the fundraiser, I know that we said some things, but I thought that we were okay.
Chloe: At the fundraiser that your husband started? The killer? Delia's gone. Nothing is ever gonna be okay.
Chelsea: What Adam did was unforgivable, but I swear, Chloe, I didn't know. I swear to you I didn't know.
Chloe: You didn't drive the car. Okay, you didn't. You didn't leave her alone and broken on the side of the road. He did. But you loved him. And you said that he changed. [Voice breaking] And before you, we all knew that Adam was a monster. And you said that ever since he became a father, that he was different. And decent and respectable. He was just hiding in plain sight. You were his cover story. And you gave this perfect, innocent child Adam Newman as a father. And that alone makes you the worst mother this child could ever have. But I can protect him. I can protect him from the both of you.
Victor: Chloe. Listen to me. What you're doing right now is kidnapping. You took the boy out of his home. You took him out of his country. Think about that. You have kidnapped him. There's nothing else for you to do. Nowhere else for you to go, so why don't you give him back to Chelsea now?
Chelsea: It's not a crime. It's just a mistake. Chloe, let's just go home. No one needs to know about this, okay? We'll get on Victor's plane and we'll forget this ever happened. Just please give me my son and let's just go home.
Chloe: Kevin. Kevin. You're here to help. You always said I was a good mom.
Kevin: The best.
Chloe: Okay, so, then, tell them. Tell them that Connor belongs with me. Help me keep the baby.
Summer: This is cool. My dad -- my biological father -- he has lots of glass in his house. Where'd you get this one from?
Ian: A special time in my life I like to remember. We don't have to live in the past, but we can cherish it.
Summer: So, you sure you won't think I'm nuts after you read this? 'Cause you're gonna know every single thing about me.
Ian: Well, that's the plan, my dear. And like I said, there are no wrong answers. There's only you.
Summer: Okay.
Ian: [Chuckles] Thirsty work. Can I get you some iced tea?
Summer: Uh, sure. Thanks. Thanks.
Avery: That's the plan?
Nick: Simple and direct.
Dylan: Paul Williams may have been happy to help Nikki track her kid down, but he's not doing Jack to push Ian Ward out, so here we go.
Avery: Paul is following the law. He's a modern-day police chief, not some sheriff from the old west.
Nick: Well, I'm not the chief of police, so I'm good to go.
Avery: Okay, well, I assume you realize that I want to be part of this.
Dylan: No.
Nick: Not gonna happen. Nope.
Avery: You doubt my effectiveness? Why? Because I'm a woman?
Dylan: Because you smell like cupcakes, and that's not very threatening.
Nick: It's not.
Avery: I haven't made cupcakes in weeks.
Dylan: [Chuckles]
Nick: Look, Avery, we know you're tough, but we also know you're a lawyer, which means you're obligated to uphold the law and stuff. There's no sense in jeopardizing your standing. You got this.
Dylan: Yeah, Nick's right. It's too risky for you.
Avery: So, you guys are assuming that you're gonna cross legal lines. That's really wonderful, guys. Wonderful.
Nick: Ian Ward thinks he's untouchable. We just need to remind him that he's not.
Avery: Well, when I spoke to him, he made it very clear he's the one that likes to be doing the touching.
Nick: You talked to him? Avery, you were alone with this guy? Why didn't you tell me?
Avery: [Sighs]
Dylan: Because you were right, Nick. Avery's tough. She can handle herself. And when she needs help, she has me.
Courtney: Noah. Hey. Um...what are you doing here?
Noah: I was looking for you, actually. I figured there would be paperwork or reports to fill out after that hostage situation. I just wanted to give this to you.
Courtney: [Chuckles] A valentine's gift? Are you serious? For me?
Noah: Well, it's from you. It actually showed up at my house. You need to take it back.
Victoria: You should have something to eat if you want to take your pain medication later. At least have some crackers or something.
Billy: Vicki, we got to do this. We have to talk. You letting me come home is a big step and I'm very grateful.
Victoria: And?
Billy: And I love you.
Victoria: No, okay, that's not what I wanted you to say. I don't even know what that means anymore, really.
Billy: It means that I love you. That you are my life and that I hate that I hurt you.
Victoria: And you want me to say that that makes it okay? It doesn't!
Billy: I am not expecting it to be okay, but whatever's going on in your head, you have to tell me, because the small talk, it's --
Victoria: Oh, it's paining you? Oh, I'm so sorry, 'cause it's all about your pain, not what you did to me and Johnny and our family. Let's talk about that, okay? Let's talk about you sleeping with Kelly. When did it happen, huh? Was it once like she said, or was it over and over again? Was it here in this house? Was it upstairs? Was it on the couch? Was our son upstairs?! Was it dulling your pain like you wanted or was it amazing and you couldn't get enough of it?
Billy: Baby, please, you --
Victoria: What? Don't ask? I'm asking.
Billy: You don't want to know about this.
Victoria: Yeah, you wanted to talk, this is talking. I want to know everything. Everything.
Courtney: So this is a valentine's gift from me to you. It's not awkward at all.
Noah: Doesn't look familiar?
Courtney: Yeah, I ordered it online, so I didn't wrap it myself, and then when we broke up, I --
Noah: You dumped me.
Courtney: I forgot I ordered it.
Noah: Look, I'm sorry. I wouldn't have done this at your work. It's just I suddenly realized that I don't really know where you live.
Courtney: Right. Of course. I mean, I live here, anyway, so...
Noah: Were you at the GCAC when the hostage situation happened?
Courtney: No, I wasn't there.
Noah: Another drug bust instead? So, living here. Busting drug dealers. This is your life.
Courtney: You really want to do this right now? Fine. Yes. Yes, this is my life. I'm a cop.
Noah: Must be tough to keep up with all the lies.
Courtney: You had to get past the age thing, but then you didn't seem the least bit relieved when you heard I was over 21. And, yes, I lied. But it was only 'cause my job relied on it. Noah, what I do for a living, it's important. I keep dirt bags from selling drugs to kids, and, you know what? Maybe, just maybe, I saved a couple. Maybe even from ending up in the hospital next to your sister. Don't you think that if you could have gone back and helped Summer from OD'ing you would have at least tried?
Ian: Okay, you're comfortable with all your responses? This is the essence of Summer Newman?
Summer: Yeah, it feels good to not hold anything back.
Ian: Good, good, good, good. You hold onto that, stay open. It's the best way to really live. So, now what? You read this and you tell me that I'm too much of a mess to fix?
Ian: [Chuckles] You're going back to the self-deprecating defense mechanism.
Summer: It's okay. Okay. Now what?
Ian: Well, I read this over, I give it some thought, and then I consider the best approach to your future. Here. You take these home and fill them out at your leisure.
Summer: Okay.
Ian: The first part's done. You've taken the first step on your path.
Summer: Yeah. It feels good.
Ian: It'll feel better. Before you go, one last thing.
Avery: Thank you for that very gallant response, both of you, everyone. I think that the person that needs protection here is not me.
Dylan: You're right. Let's focus on Nikki.
Avery: Yes.
Nick: No, we need to focus on Ian Ward. We got to track this guy down and make sure he knows it's time for him to leave town.
Avery: Well, I ran into him at the athletic club, so maybe he's staying there.
Dylan: Let's start there. Are you ready?
Nick: Let's do it.
Avery: Wait, wait, wait. Can you both just do one thing for me? Make sure you don't need legal representation or a doctor.
Dylan: [Sighs] We're all adults. Nothing's gonna happen. Don't worry.
Avery: Nick?
Nick: I can't make that promise.
Avery: [Sighs]
Chloe: Kevin, you got here so fast.
Kevin: I was on a private jet when you called. Mrs. C. Had introduced me to some people I could hit up for a favor, and I did, because I know that your godmother would want me here with you.
Chloe: Yeah, to help me keep the baby. Tell them that this is the answer. Tell them that we can take care of him and it's -- it's just like when you gave Johnny to Billy. You knew that Johnny was gonna be better off if he was with Victoria and Billy. It is the same thing. Connor is better off with me.
Kevin: It's not right, Chloe.
Chloe: Don't say that.
Kevin: Chelsea is his mother.
Chloe: Stop.
Kevin: Could you imagine anyone else being Delia's mom? Anyone but you?
Chloe: No, I can't, because she's gone. I can't tuck her in at night and I can't laugh at her jokes. I can't hold her tight. But Connor -- Connor is here. Connor is here and he needs me.
Kevin: No. But I need you. I do. Lots of people do. And Connor needs Chelsea.
Chloe: Why are you saying this? Why are you taking their side?
Kevin: Chloe, listen to me. I love you more than I've ever loved anybody. And Delia was like the most amazing gift, just knowing her. But this isn't right. We can't be a family with Connor because he doesn't belong to us.
Chloe: [Crying] It's not fair. It's not fair.
Kevin: I know.
Chelsea: Chloe, I can't lose Connor. If anything ever happened to him, I --
Chloe: Oh, what? What? If he died like Delia did? What? Would you die, too?
Chelsea: Chloe, please.
Chloe: Because that's the thing. You don't. You wake up and your kid doesn't. You walk and you talk and you breathe and your kid doesn't. [Sniffles]
Victor: Chloe... none of us understand what it feels like to lose a child. I can only imagine how horrible that is.
Chloe: But I didn't lose her. Your son murdered her.
Victor: But Chelsea didn't know about that. She's innocent.
Chloe: Yeah, she loved him.
Victor: You wouldn't want to take that boy from his mother. If anyone knows how painful that is, you do, and Chelsea is suffering. She is really suffering right now.
Chloe: [Crying] I miss her so much, I can hardly breathe.
Victor: I'm so sorry about that. I really am very sorry about that. Why don't you give that little boy to his mom, okay? Chelsea, come on.
Chelsea: Come here, baby.
Victor: It's okay.
Chelsea: I got you. I got you, I got you, I got you. Oh, I got you. Oh, I got you. Yeah. Okay. I've got you. I've got you. Okay. I do, I do, I do, I do. I do, I do, I do, I do, I do. I do. I do, I do, I do.
Victor: All right. Yep. Just be ready. The jet is fueled. We can take off any time now, okay?
Chelsea: Not without Chloe.
Victor: But Kevin will take care of her.
Chelsea: Chloe. Chloe, let's all go together, okay? Let's go home.
Kevin: I got this.
Chelsea: Chloe, we're gonna go to the airport now, okay? But we'll wait. We'll wait an hour, okay? We'll wait an hour. I just hope that you come.
Victor: Let me grab that.
Chelsea: Thank you.
[Door closes]
Kevin: That was very brave of you. Letting Connor go. He's gonna be all right. Chloe, it's time for us to go home. We don't have to go with Chelsea and Victor, but we do need to go.
Chloe: [Sighs] Genoa City was never my home. I only went back because I was pregnant. I went back for Delia. There is nothing left for me now.
Victoria: This isn't the talk that you wanted to have? All the gory details of when you took someone else to bed?
Billy: Victoria, I --
Victoria: No, tell me. I want to know it all so that I stop making these disgusting movies in my head that make me want to break every window in this house.
Billy: It was --
Victoria: What? Don't say "just." Don't say "only." Once was enough to do this to us. More than enough. So, where did it happen? Was it here? Did you bring her back here?
Billy: I saw her at the park. It was freezing. We went back to her place.
Victoria: Oh, to warm her up, okay. Well, that's good. That's good, then. Chivalry is not dead. That's nice. And then you opened a bottle of wine and then your hands accidentally touched when you reached for your glasses and --
Billy: It wasn't about seduction. It was about this empty feeling. The loss of our kids. And then it just --
Victoria: I loved Delia, too. Where was I when you were so empty that you needed somebody else to fill you up?
Billy: You were on your way to D.C.
Victoria: To see reed, yeah. And then the flight was canceled, and then I came home, and the house was empty. Oh, my god, Billy, that was the first night that we made love after Dee Dee died. I thought we were healing. We had finally made love. But not until you had sex with somebody else.
Ian: I need a shot of you for your file. Do you mind?
Summer: If I don't have to sit in hair and makeup for three hours wondering what's gonna happen if I sneeze and mess up my hair, then, no, I don't mind.
Ian: [Chuckles] All right. Oh, perfect. All right. Oh, one more, now, to commemorate our working together, okay? We'll do a selfie.
Summer: Okay.
[Both laugh]
Ian: Excellent. See?
Summer: Yeah, I am a selfie expert, and I got to say that's pretty good.
Ian: You're a remarkable young woman, Summer. I'm looking forward to doing all the research and getting back to you.
Summer: At this age, I thought I'd know what I want to do with my life, so I'm really lucky to have met you.
Ian: I feel the same way. I'll speak with you soon.
Summer: Okay. Thank you.
Ian: Mm.
[Door opens]
Dylan: You okay? You seemed a little wound up on the ride over.
Nick: I'm fine. You knocking or am I?
Ian: Dylan. Wonderful to see you. Who's your friend?
Nick: My name's Nick Newman.
Ian: Of course. How nice to finally meet you. I once knew your lovely mother. [Gasps] [Breathing heavily]
Summer: Avery. Hi.
Avery: Hi, Summer. Sit. Sit. How are you?
Summer: I'm good. I have a question. Okay, if you were a tree in a thunderstorm, would you fear the lightning or would you exalt in the electricity?
Avery: Oh. Well, uh, I guess if I didn't get hit, it would be pretty exciting. Why am I a tree?
Summer: I don't know. There's just a lot of possibilities.
Avery: That's true, although I'm not sure that trees exalt. Where is this coming from?
Summer: Sorry, um, I just took a personality test. Well, not really a test, because that implies you could fail, so it's more of an evaluation. Just to see what I should be doing with my life.
Avery: Well, the question seems a little more esoteric than practical, unless, of course, you're gonna be an electrician or a lumberjack.
Summer: No, there was other practical questions, but just answering them seemed to help. You know, it made me really think about what makes sense for me. I mean, there's so much time that I can be basically anything. I could be a lawyer like you, or, look at my mom. My mom was a computer shark, she was a magazine editor, a marketing guru, and a mom, and she did everything, so... I don't know. Who knows what the universe has in store for me?
Avery: Well, Phyllis would love to hear you talk like this.
Summer: Jack -- he, uh, he has the nurses hold up the phone and that way he can play music or talk to her when he's not there, and I think I'm gonna start doing that. Just tell my mom that I'm getting started.
Avery: Your mom would be so proud of you. And you're right. You can do anything you want, and it sounds like you've taken the first step.
Nick: You got something else to say about my mother, Mr. Ward?
Ian: It was careless of me to speak like that. My apologies.
Dylan: You knew exactly what you were doing.
Ian: I know how your mother views the time when our paths crossed, and, frankly, I was stunned. But time colors all memories.
Nick: Her memory is just fine.
Dylan: Playing head games might work with young, impressionable girls. It's not gonna work with us.
Ian: I came here to know you, Dylan. That's all. No hidden agenda, beyond knowing my own flesh and blood.
Dylan: You know what you need to know, that I want you to get out of town.
Ian: I can't help myself. It's a primal urge to try to know one's child, to understand, to try to see what the world did to him or her. You have any children, Mr. Newman?
Nick: I'm not doing this with you.
Ian: If you were a father, you would understand how I feel when I look at Dylan. You know, with pride, with admiration. The things you must have seen, huh? What you must have done. And maybe some things that the world misunderstood, maybe some things during the war that gave you great pain. And still does.
Nick: This isn't working. You need to take this somewhere else -- now.
Ian: Well, I haven't decided when I'm leaving. And when I do, I'll let you know. But I think it's admirable how you take care of your mother, you and your brother. But I would never hurt Nikki -- never.
Nick: That is not the answer we're looking for.
Dylan: Just to be clear. You leave Nikki alone.
Ian: Oh. I can imagine that look in your eyes, like you're in your uniform, dispensing orders.
Dylan: You're not taking this seriously.
Nick: You're used to winning, right? Getting what you want. I promise you that is not gonna happen here. We're gonna be watching you. If you cross the line with my mother...
Dylan: Sucker punch? Seriously? Right out of the gate?
Nick: I showed amazing restraint.
Noah: Look, what you do is important. And watching you bust that drug dealer, other than realizing that everything that you told me was a lie, was impressive.
Courtney: It wasn't all a lie, though.
Noah: Other than your age and what you do all day and where you live.
Courtney: Yeah, that's kind of the definition of undercover, Noah. I lie for a living. But I was off the clock every time we hung out. When we would get coffee or we'd dance or make love, I -- those moments were real, and that's who I am, and that's what I feel about you, and for you to just throw that in my --
Victor: You all right?
Chelsea: You know, the second you have a baby, you start being so afraid for them. You know, you start thinking about all the terrible things that could happen. But it's weird because, deep down, you don't think that they'll actually happen. You don't think the world would be that cruel. But Connor, he really did almost go blind. That happened.
Victor: Mm.
Chelsea: And Dylan really did take him, and now Chloe -- I just -- I can't. I can't let anything bad ever happen to him. If anything ever happened to him, I just think I would be like Chloe. I would just fall apart.
Victor: I understand. Hey, my boy. Hey, my boy. All this excitement, hmm?
Chelsea: [Sighs]
Kevin: Chloe, please let me take you home.
Chloe: To what?
Kevin: To people who love you.
Chloe: They're just gonna call me a baby snatcher. I'm as bad as Adam before he upgraded to killer.
Kevin: Hey. Look at me. You are nothing like Adam. You're not like anyone I've ever known before. And seeing you like this -- Chloe, we can fix this and we can get you help.
Chloe: You're wrong, Kevin. I stopped existing the day that Delia died. These are just my clothes. It's just...my hair. My skin. But inside there's -- inside, there's nothing left.
Kevin: Don't say that. You're you. You are, Chloe, and losing Delia, it is not always gonna feel like this.
Chloe: How is it gonna feel? Don't tell me that everything is going to be okay, because it's not. And I'm too tired. I'm too tired. I don't want to lie to anyone anymore.
Kevin: Well, you can't do this. You can't do it to Delia. Remember when we split up and she said that she wanted to see you smile again?
Chloe: That's because she had a good soul. She had a good, sweet heart. She was better than I was. And now she's gone. So I don't have to try anymore.
Kevin: But her heart and her soul -- they're not gone. They're a part of you, the same way you were a part of her. So, if you drift off and go away... then we lose Delia, too. And you always talk about her smile. It's your smile, too. And without that in the world -- if you go, then Delia goes, and I am not willing to lose her again.
