Episode # 10346 ~ Tensions increase between Jack & Victor; Chloe takes action after a confrontation with Chelsea.

Victor: Chelsea, if Jack Abbott and Sharon had Connor's best interests at heart, they certainly wouldn't suggest that Connor's kept away from the family that will love him.

Chelsea: But, Victor, Adam was... [Sighs] Adam is Connor's father, and it was very important to him that Jack be his legal guardian if anything were to happen.

Victor: Okay. Tell you what. Why don't we have a talk about all this after you've had a chance to rest a little, okay? I'll see myself out.

Chelsea: [Sighs]

Chloe: Adam didn't want him anywhere near Connor, and neither do I.

Jack: Driving an SUV off a cliff. That a good idea or a bad idea?

Billy: I'm sorry for scaring the hell out of everybody.

Jack: Hey, hey, I'm trying to lighten things up here. Besides, I think I owe you the apology.

Billy: For what?

Jack: I knew that something was eating Adam alive, and I... I didn't push hard enough.

Billy: Well, I'm glad you didn't.

Jack: How can you even say that?

Billy: Because Adam was your friend, Jack. If he had confessed to you, you would have been in agony over what to do about it.

Jack: Well, yeah, I might have been, but --

Billy: And that wasn't a problem for me, 'cause I knew exactly what to do about it, and that's what I did.

Lily: I am so glad the Delia project benefit is back on. Can you think of a better way to spend Valentine's Day, right? [Chuckles] You know, Cane and I, actually, we had our wedding on Valentine's Day. Well, the second time. [Chuckles]

Kelly: Excuse me?

Mattie: Give me it back!

Charlie: No! It's my turn!

Lily: I swear.

Mattie: No! Give me it back!

Lily: These children. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Okay. Hey. Give me the crayon right now. Give it to me. There. Now you each have a red crayon, okay? And I don't want to hear anything else, okay?

Both: Okay.

Lily: Thank you. [Sighs] Nothing like children at a business meeting. I'm sorry, but unfortunately, their lunatic grandfather is back in town. He's the one that tried to kidnap them and take them to Australia.

Kelly: Whoa, a lunatic grandfather kidnapper? You know, we're gonna have to have a long talk about your life one day. You realize that, right?

Lily: Me? [Laughs] I'm sorry. What about you? You know a little bit about my life. I know nothing about yours.

Kelly: Well, there's not much to tell.

Stitch: There's something you need to know.

Victoria: Ben, what is it? Is it about Billy?

Stitch: So, no denial? No argument? You slept with Billy, didn't you?

Stitch: I'm afraid so. And I wouldn't be much of a friend if I didn't tell you what's going on.

Victoria: Oh, god, please tell me he's gonna be okay. I don't think I can handle any more bad news.

Christine: Congratulations. You are a free man, and this case will be expunged from your record.

Lauren: [Sighs]

Christine: Okay, now remember, officially the charges were dropped when the video that proved you shot Carmine in self-defense was authenticated.

Michael: And unofficially, you can't be convicted for killing a man who's not actually dead.

Christine: You should all know that Carmine has been moved to a safe house. He's federally protected, but it is imperative that you never, ever reveal that he's alive.

Michael: Who's alive? I have no idea what she's talking about. Do you have any idea?

Kevin: I am completely stumped.

Michael: No idea.

Lauren: Carmine couldn't be more dead to me. And my men and I couldn't be happier to be moving on with our lives. But there is one other thing. [Sighs] What about Womack?

Well, that's that, Womack. I'm tired of looking at you, so you keep your nose clean and you don't come back, got it?

Womack: Got it.

Nick: I can't think of anybody to be my Valentine this year. I don't know. I mean, in a perfect world, she'd be like, hmm, maybe -- like this tall with light hair, she'd be super-cute, really smart, good at ballet. I mean, I can't think of anyone who fits that description.

Faith: Daddy, what about me?

Nick: Oh! Of course! You! Why didn't I think of that? All right, so, Faith Cassidy Newman, would you do me the honor of being my Valentine?

Sharon: Cassie?! Cassie?! What are you doing here?! Cassie! Please!

Victoria: Ben, you know, you're really scaring me. If there's something wrong with Billy, I need to know.

Stitch: He's had a concussion.

Victoria: Yeah. I know that. And?

Stitch: And it, uh, may take awhile for him to start acting like himself again once you get him home.

Victoria: Okay, what does that mean?

Stitch: He could experience occasional confusion, he could have trouble concentrating, and he could become, uh, short-tempered and withdrawn.

Victoria: Yeah, I know. Been there, done that with him. [Chuckles] He's grieving the loss of his daughter, so what's your point?

Stitch: Uh, pfft, I mean, you know, he's been through severe physical shock, uh, which will increase his vulnerability to injury. You're gonna need to watch him like a hawk and rein him in when you need to, which he probably won't like.

Victoria: [Laughs] Yeah, I know. That's an understatement for sure.

Stitch: Bottom line, he's probably gonna be a real pain in the ass right now, so just don't take it personally and don't let up on him.

Victoria: I am a lot tougher than I look, so I can handle it. You know, from the way you were talking, I was afraid that something was really wrong.

Stitch: [Sighs]

Kelly: You didn't ruin it. You just need one...more... little...cut, and... [Gasps]

Lily: Yay!

Kelly: Looks perfect! You're great!

Charlie: Thank you.

Kelly: You're welcome.

Lily: [Chuckles] Aww, you're great with them.

Kelly: Well, it's my years of practice from years of being a teacher.

Lily: You see? There's a perfect example of how little I know about you. A teacher. Do you have any kids of your own?

Kelly: Yeah. Sam.

Lily: Oh.

Kelly: He, uh, was 7 when he died.

Lily: Kelly, I'm so sorry. I-I look, if you ever want to tell me to just butt out of your life, I get it. Don't worry about it.

Kelly: It's okay. I'm sorry. It's fine. You didn't know, and I survived, which is more than I can say for my marriage. You know, some marriages that go through a crisis, and they come out stronger than ever, like you and Cane, apparently, and some marriages that go through a crisis, and they don't make it, no matter how hard they try.

Lily: Yeah. That's why I'm really excited that the Delia project benefit is back on. I think it'll be good for Billy and Victoria to have something positive to work on together. You know, their marriage has survived so much that it would only compound the tragedy if it didn't survive this.

Kelly: Yeah.

Jack: I'm almost afraid to ask. What does that mean, "I did what I had to do"?

Billy: Adam killed my daughter, Jack. Adam chose not to man up. Instead watching all of us go through the agony of not knowing, using the internet and his checkbook for absolution!

Jack: Hey, hey, hey. Calm down. Calm down. I know what Adam did. I want to know what you did.

Billy: We had a little unfinished business at the place where he left my child dying on the side of the road.

Jack: Business? You wanted him to confess there?

Billy: I wanted him to die there.

Jack: But you couldn't go through with it, right? I mean, you couldn't end another man's life, because that's not who you are. Billy, I'm proud of you.

Billy: Don't be. I'm not finished yet.

Chloe: Were you seriously going to let that man see Connor?

Chelsea: I need your permission?

Victor: Chelsea, it's all right. If I want to visit my grandson, I will in the future, okay? You think long and hard about my very heartfelt invitation. If you or Connor need anything, just call me, okay?

[Door closes]

Chloe: What was that about? What is he up to? What heartfelt invitation --

Chelsea: Believe it or not, he's just trying to help.

Chloe: Victor Newman is trying to help? [Scoffs] Don't you dare fall for that, and don't you dare accept his help. Do you understand? You don't need a damn thing from that man! You've got me!

Fenmore: [Sighs] How long can it take to get my stuff back? I mean, it's not like I checked into prison with a five-set piece of luggage.

Kevin: It is an outrage. I will file a complaint with the prison concierge.

Christine: Guys, I've made a few calls. Uh, the latest on Womack is he's being released today.

Lauren: Oh, great. So, what? Do we have a half an hour to celebrate the end of one nightmare before another one begins?

Fenmore: Hey, hey. Don't worry. Don't worry. Womack told me that I'm on my own now. He's done with me.

Michael: It might even be a good thing to have Womack back on the streets. If he gets so much as one quick glimpse of Carmine Basco, he'll drop him where he stands, and I could live with that.

Kevin: I would be okay with that.

Christine: Can you postpone having this conversation until the DA's out of the room?

Fenmore: Does the DA have any pull when it comes to getting my stuff? My cell phone is in there, and I've been without it this whole time.

Lauren: Oh, my god! Is there no end to the suffering of what you've been through?

Michael: We're here for you, son. We are here for you.

Fenmore: This is cruel and unusual now.

Kevin: It is.

Fenmore: Cruel.

Sharon: Cassie, where are you? Why are you following me? Why -- [Gasps] [Sighs] Oh, hi. It's you guys. Hi, baby. [Chuckles]

Nick: What's going on?

Sharon: Nothing. It's fine. You just -- startled me. And what is on your face?

Nick: That would be a special surprise cookie for my Valentine, if you must know.

Sharon: Oh, well, maybe next time, Daddy can include a special surprise napkin to go along with it. Why don't you go wash up, baby? [Sighs]

Nick: All right. What's going on? When I walked in just now, you were more than just startled. Did something happen?

Sharon: Okay, if you're gonna push this, yes, something happened, something I can't explain.

Kelly: It wasn't just losing Sam that tore my marriage apart. I made my share of mistakes.

Lily: Did you at least have family around to help you through it?

Kelly: No. Not exactly. Okay, well, that's my story, told by Kelly Andrews. It's fascinating.

Lily: [Chuckles]

Kelly: Now, can we please get back to work?

Lily: Sure.

[Computer keys clacking]

Stitch: [Sighs]

Victoria: You know, you really are a good friend.

Stitch: [Chuckles] I'm not so sure about that.

Victoria: Don't even tell me that you take this much of an interest with all of your patients. Oh, and at the risk of pushing my luck, could I please ask you a favor?

Stitch: Name it.

Victoria: Well, you know, the next time you happen to be in our neighborhood, assuming that you haven't overcome your addiction to Burger Beat...

Stitch: Ah, ah, ah. I prefer the word "allegiance," thank you very much.

Victoria: Could you maybe stop by and help me make sure that Billy is behaving himself? Because you're right. He's not exactly a slave to impulse control, and I doubt that he's gonna put up with much hovering from me.

Stitch: I'd be happy to. But, Victoria, please don't minimize how important it is that you keep a close eye on him. He's gonna need you right by his side right now. Take my word for it.

Victoria: Well, then I'll be there for better or for worse, which I'll remind him of when he's ready to strangle me. [Chuckles] No, I know that deep down Billy takes our wedding vows as seriously as I do.

Stitch: Glad to hear it.

Victoria: You don't sound very convinced. Oh, I think I finally understand what's going on here.

Chloe: It is so obvious and so predictable, and I can't believe that you don't see it.

Chelsea: See what?

Chloe: Victor swooping down like a vulture on Connor now that Adam is dead?

Chelsea: Okay, why does everyone keep assuming that Adam is dead?

Chloe: Because he is. Kevin saw the photos from the accident. Chelsea, there is no way that he survived.

Chelsea: Well, then why didn't they find a body, Chloe? Hmm? I know my husband. He's a brilliant man. He is clever and resourceful, and he has every reason in the world for wanting people to think that he's dead.

Chloe: Chelsea, sweetie, you know that I love you and I would never do or say anything to hurt you, right? Sweetie, he's gone, okay? Adam is dead. He is never coming back. And the truth is, when it comes to you and Connor, Adam's death is the best thing that ever happened.

Jack: How about we let me decide whether to be proud of you or not? Go ahead. Finish your story.

Billy: It's not like I grew a conscience at Delia's memorial site and decided to let Adam live. I still wanted him dead. I just realized I didn't want him to die there, not there, not -- not where her life ended. That's hallowed ground.

Jack: Okay. Fair enough.

Billy: So, I made him get back into his SUV and drive wherever I told him to.

Jack: And then what? Billy, and then what?

Billy: And then -- let's just say mission accomplished. Adam is dead.

Michael: With everything going on, I haven't had a chance to ask you about Chloe. How's she holding up?

Kevin: She's a wreck.

Michael: I'm sorry. Wow. [Chuckles] Some kind of brother I've been, huh?

Kevin: Hey, you just said with all this other stuff you got going on. I understand. I just thought that after Adam was positively identified as the hit-and-run driver that, um, it would have provided Chloe with a sense of peace, you know? Or at least given her a place to focus all of her pain.

Michael: That hasn't happened?

Kevin: No. She's developed this really unhealthy obsession with Chelsea and Adam's kid. She denies it.

Michael: That's understandable with the cornea transplant. How unhealthy?

Kevin: Scary unhealthy. And every time I try and talk to her about it, she blows up at me.

Michael: Well, give it time. Once she's had a chance to, you know, process what happened with Adam, she'll be able to come back to her life and to her career and to you. And it'll give her enough perspective, find a more appropriate place in her heart for Connor. Doesn't that make sense?

Kevin: [Sighs]

Jack: Billy, I don't know what you're trying to say, but I hope it's not what it's starting to sound like.

Billy: I'm not trying to say anything, Jack. I'm saying it. Adam is dead, and I am glad. And I know he was a friend of yours, and I'm sorry for your loss, but that is about it. And the way I see it, Adam's death was no tragedy. It was, uh, how did he put it? Um, balancing the karmic scales.

Victoria: Now that I think about it, it's obvious where all of this concern is coming from about Billy and me and our marriage and...

Stitch: Take your best shot.

Victoria: It's hard not to be cynical about someone else's marriage when you're having trouble in your own. [Scoffs] I get it, okay? And it's okay. It's fine. It's really sweet of you to care, but Billy and I are fine. We're good. We love each other. And that's never gonna change. Enough said?

Stitch: Enough said.

Victoria: Good. I'm gonna go to the cafeteria and get something to eat. Can I get you anything?

Stitch: No thanks. I'm good.

Victoria: Okay. See you.

Jack: Can you sit up a little?

Billy: Yeah.

Jack: There. Better?

Billy: Yeah.

Jack: Now, listen, what you just told me, I --

[Door opens]

Stitch: Sorry for the interruption, gentlemen. Time to check Billy's vitals.

Jack: Oh, yeah. Of course. Um, give this guy any trouble, you're gonna hear from me. We army vets stick together.

Billy: Hey, you're not gonna give your brother a hug before you leave, army vet?

Jack: Yeah. Sure.

Billy: What was said in here stays in here, agreed?

Jack: Hey, we'll carry on this conversation later. You rest.

[Door opens]

Victor: I came to check on Billy. How's he doing?

Jack: He could be dead because of your son and your secrets, and I'm supposed to believe you care how he's doing?

Victor: What'd you tell him?

Sharon: Okay, I admit, dealing with Adam's death and then this run-in I had with your father today, I am a little bit jumpy.

Nick: Another run-in with Dad? What now?

Sharon: I went to check on Chelsea, and I found Victor there inviting her and Connor to move onto the ranch.

Nick: Well, that's understandable.

Sharon: Yeah, I, uh, unfortunately opened my mouth and mentioned that I didn't think it was a good idea, and it got a little personal.

Nick: All right, I'm not trying to make excuses for Dad, but he just lost his son, and I know it's killing him. I'm sure Dad assumed that one day he'd have a chance to make things right, just like we're all counting on him one day.

[Thud]

Sharon: Oh, my gosh. What was that?

Nick: That was our daughter closing a drawer. We've heard it a million times, Sharon. What is going on with you?

Sharon: [Sighs]

[Door opens]

Faith: Let's play my new word game!

Nick: Oh! Baby girl, I wish I could, but I got to go see your uncle Billy right now, so thank you for this big, giant hug! And I'll, uh, see you soon? All right. I love you. We're not done with this conversation.

Fenmore: Thank you for everything, Christine.

Christine: You are so welcome. If I were you, I would get out of here. [Chuckles] And promise you'll take care of yourself, okay?

Fenmore: Yeah.

Christine: All right. I'll see you guys.

Lauren: Thanks, Christine.

Michael: Thanks, Christine.

Lauren: All right, honey. It's your day. You name it. Where do you want to go?

Fenmore: Uh... how about my own bed for about a month?

Michael: That's the son I know and love.

Kevin: No dice. I'm gonna take you straight to the gym.

Fenmore: You are not serious.

Kevin: I'm serious. What were you eating in there? Celery? Look at these string-bean arms.

Fenmore: Oh, well, okay. Well, these string-bean arms can still whip your scrawny butt any day of the --

Kevin: I'm not afraid of you.

Fenmore: You're not --

Kevin: I'm not afraid of you.

Lauren: See our son so happy.

Michael: All right, guys, guys, knuckleheads! Come on! Cut it out! Let's go before either one of you manages to get arrested again.

Lauren: Or in the hospital. Let's go.

Michael: Please.

Lily: Victoria, that's great news. No, yeah, I'm sure Kelly will be as thrilled as I am. Okay. Yeah. Thank you. Bye. [Chuckling] Oh.

Kelly: I will be right back, okay? Kind of overhearing, um, your conversation with Victoria. So, great news? Uh, I take it it's about Billy?

Lily: Oh, yes, that, too. So, I guess he had a concussion and he's pretty shaken up and bruised, but he's gonna be okay. Thank god. My gosh.

Kelly: Great. Good for Billy.

Lily: Yeah. So, even though that's enough great news for one day, get this. Victoria just got confirmation on an incredible auction item for the benefit.

Kelly: Tell me.

Lily: Well, it's a one-of-a-kind museum-quality antique snow queen doll. I know. I guess Victoria knows somebody who knows the collector, and he heard about Delia and the benefit, and he went and donated it.

Kelly: That's great! That's gonna make a fortune for the foundation. We just have to publicize it properly.

Lily: Well, now that you say that, I actually made a press release just in case it was approved.

Kelly: You did?

Lily: I did. What do you think?

Kelly: Ah. "This exquisite handcrafted snow queen doll," ehh, "old world, attention to detail, for the discerning collectors only." It sounds lovely.

Lily: Really?

Kelly: Mm-hmm.

Lily: Thank you. Even though what I really wanted to write was "Delia would have loved this doll."

Jack: What are you asking me? Did I tell my brother if you'd done the right thing, he wouldn't have come so very close to dying? No, I didn't tell him that.

Victor: And you don't think I've been agonizing over this whole thing?

Jack: If I thought it would make any difference at all, I would shout what you did from the rooftops. But in the end, it doesn't change a damn thing.

Victor: Then what the hell went through your head, Jack, when you decided to share this whole sordid story with my wife?

Chelsea: Adam's death is the best thing that could have ever happened to me and Connor? Did you just really say that? How dare you?

Chloe: He killed my daughter, Chelsea.

Chelsea: It was an accident.

Chloe: So that doesn't make her less dead! He stood here, and he looked at me while I was in agony when I was trying to figure out what happened to my daughter, and he didn't say a word! He didn't say one word! He's a cowardly son of a bitch!

Chelsea: Shut up. Shut up, Chloe.

Chloe: He didn't even deserve to breathe the same air as Connor, let alone raise him!

Chelsea: Stop. I said shut up! I said shut up! I can't listen to this anymore! I can't hear people telling me what to do and what to feel and what's best for my son! You and Victor and -- Jack and Sharon! I can't handle anymore! I'm done! I am done! [Sighs]

Chloe: What do you mean? What is that supposed to mean?

Chelsea: It means it is time I stuck to what Adam and I wanted to do before the whole world turned upside down! I am taking my son and getting him as far away from all of you people as possible. I am taking Connor on the next flight to Paris.

Chloe: There's not a chance in hell that I'm gonna let you do that!

Sharon: "C-o-f-f"? That's not how you spell "cough."

Faith: Why not?

Sharon: Hmm. Beats me. [Chuckles] You win again, sweetheart. You're a smarty pants. Come on. Why don't you go upstairs and pick us out another fun game to play, and I'll make us some hot chocolate.

Chloe: I'm so sorry, Chelsea. I didn't mean that, okay? I didn't mean any of that. I really don't even know what I'm thinking anymore. Will you just please forgive me?

Chelsea: I'm so lost, Chloe.

Chloe: I know. And I am, too. And I just really freaked out at the thought of you leaving with Connor. I really don't know what I would do without my best friend right now. And I think that you feel the same way. You know, I mean, when I'm not acting like some out-of-control psycho. Will you please just let me put those back in the drawer?

Chelsea: You're right. I need you, too.

Chloe: [Sighs] I am so sorry. I'm sorry.

Lily: And there. Our snow queen is now officially blitzed.

Kelly: And may it go viral by the end of the day. You know, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get bids from all around the world.

Lily: Yep, and leave it to Victoria to come through once again.

Kelly: So, she's good at this kind of thing?

Lily: Oh, what isn't she good at? She's an amazing woman.

Kelly: I don't really know her all that well.

Lily: Well, she, uh, let's see. She's smart and resourceful and she's down to earth, she's a great wife, great mother, but she's also a natural-born steel magnolia.

Kelly: What does that mean?

Lily: Meaning that even though she's sweet and demure and soft-spoken, you don't want to cross her.

Kelly: Well, that's good to know. I'll keep that in mind. So, press release done. What's the next order of business?

Lily: Our next order of business. Well, let's see. Oh, I know. It's finding you a date for the gala.

Stitch: All right. There you go.

Billy: So, a few more signatures on a few forms, and I'm out of here, right?

Stitch: Ha. Not today. Soon, but not today. You need your rest, brother.

Billy: Come on, doc. I think you're underestimating me here. I mean, check this out. Aah! Aah!

Stitch: That's great, Billy. Just great. Injure yourself when your doctor's sitting right next to you. I think they can take away my license for that.

Billy: [Chuckles]

Stitch: Is this what Victoria has to look forward to when you get home?

Billy: No, no. I think I've put my poor wife through enough already. In fact, I think one more screw-up and I don't even want to think about it. You know, I don't know how, and I don't know why, but she does love me. Which is way more than I deserve.

Jack: Hold on. Nikki walked in on that conversation. I had no intention on telling your wife what you did. I care too much about Nikki to hurt her like that.

Victor: Who the hell do you think you're talking to? I know you. You would like nothing more than to turn my wife against me. In fact, you wouldn't hesitate to turn my whole family against me. Is there anyone that I love that'll be safe from your need for retribution?

Jack: Oh, spare me the "loving family man" routine. Was it your deep and abiding love for your family that caused you, that inspired you to blackmail your own son?

Victoria: Dad, what is he talking about?

Nick: Yeah, I'd like to hear the answer to that.

Sharon: Um, sweetie, did you do this?

Faith: What is it?

Sharon: It says "phantasm." It means a ghost or just something that couldn't possibly exist. Um, you know what? I forgot the marshmallows for our hot chocolate. Would you go get us some? Cassie, why are you doing this? What do you want from me?

Fenmore: To freedom and expungement.

Michael: [Chuckles]

Fenmore: That's a word, isn't it?

Lauren: Is it? Is it?

All: Hear, hear!

Fenmore: Hear, hear.

[Laughter]

Kevin: Mmm. To -- to Chloe's healing.

Lauren: Yes. Hear, hear.

All: Hear, hear.

Lauren: Mmm. To the Valentine's Day gala at the GCAC.

Kevin: Hear, hear.

Michael: Hold on. Wait a minute. Beg your pardon?

Lauren: It's the Delia foundation fundraiser. Fenmore's bought a table.

Michael: And we're going?

Lauren: Yes.

Michael: To an event at GCAC?

Lauren: Mm-hmm. Of course, we are. We are gonna support Jill and Billy and Victoria and Chloe and Kevin and everybody else who loved that sweet, little girl.

Kevin: Thank you, Lauren. That really means a lot.

Lauren: Of course.

Michael: Hey, you sure this is a good idea?

Lauren: Honey, I'm not gonna be held hostage because of one horrible night there. From now on, you know what we're gonna do?

Michael: What?

Lauren: We're not gonna look back. We are gonna look forward.

Kevin: [Chuckles]

Lauren: [Chuckles]

Michael: Okay, I will certainly drink to that. To putting the past behind us and clearing the way for all the happiness ahead.

All: Hear, hear!

Lauren: Definitely.

Womack: Hey. Yeah, just a few more minutes and I'll be free as a bird. How about that shipment? You find a way to get it back in the States? You don't say.

GC buzz. Hmm. Okay. I'll check it out.

Kelly: Isn't she beautiful, Mattie?

Mattie: Can I play with her?

Lily: No, no. She is not a doll to play with. Just to look at.

Mattie: That's no fun.

Lily: [Laughs] Okay, then. I guess we'll start with an opening bid of zero from Miss Matilda Ashby.

Kelly: Well, in spite of what Mattie has to say, but which I actually agree with, I think this is going to be a great thing for the Delia project.

Lily: I agree.

Kelly: Good job! All right, well, I think I'm gonna go. We're pretty much done here.

Lily: Oh, no, no, no, no. We still haven't found you a date for the gala yet. Sorry.

Kelly: Yeah, about that. You know, I really appreciate you thinking about me. I do. But the idea of me being in a relationship right now --

Lily: Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa. A relationship? No, no, no. [Laughs] This is just one night of just formal wear and champagne and a fundraiser that you helped make a success, okay? I'm not letting you come through those doors without an escort. I'm sorry.

Kelly: I don't mind. I don't. And I can't think of any possible candidate.

Lily: There's not a single man in Genoa City that you've been interested in? Not one?

Kelly: Nope. Not...one single man.

Lily: Wow. Okay. Well, leave it to me.

Kelly: [Sighs]

Chloe: You really accept my apology even though I'm more mouth than brains today?

Chelsea: Of course, I do. [Sighs] I'm not in my right mind, either.

Chloe: We're gonna get through this. I promise.

Chelsea: Same here.

[Connor cries]

Chelsea: [Sighs]

Chloe: Sounds like he needs you. Why don't you go? I'll let myself out.

Chelsea: Okay. Thanks. I'll call you.

Chloe: Okay. [Sighs] Chelsea, you can't do this. I mean, you can't let Adam make you do this.

Chelsea: No, no, no. This is my choice, Chloe. And this is my dream. Adam and I, we would have been in Paris for a year already if we had stuck to the original plan. This is now our second chance.

Chloe: You can't take Connor away from me.

Victoria: Blackmailing your son?

Nick: What the hell does that mean?

Jack: Why don't you tell them, Victor? They're your kids. They should hear the truth from you, not me.

Victor: You want the truth? I am having his company, Jabot cosmetics, investigated for some serious improprieties. What you just heard was a vicious attempt on his part to exact revenge by hurling outlandish accusations against me.

Nick: Any of that true, Jack?

Jack: Ask your father. He'll tell you.

Victoria: Jack, please, tell us what's going on.

Victor: Let him go. This is a family matter. None of his business.

Jack: None of my business? You say none of my business? My brother is lying in a hospital bed there. My friend is dead. And you could have prevented it all, and it's not my business?

Victor: I'm warning you.

Jack: You're warning me? Well, it's too late, pal. I am not gonna lie to your family to protect you. It seems, children, that your father has known for some time that Adam was the driver of the car that killed Delia. Instead of convincing his son to turn himself in or hiring the best team of lawyers that money could buy, he made a deal with Adam. Access to Connor in exchange for prolonging everyone's agony by keeping Adam's secret. Am I leaving anything out? Is that about it?

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Avery: What exactly are you after?

Chelsea: Dylan. What are you doing here?

Victor: Are you turning against me? Don't you see that he's using this to get back at me?

Jack: That is absolutely absurd.

Victor: No, it is not!
