Nikki: [Sighs]
[Door opens, closes]
Nick: Mom?
Nikki: Nicholas, I told you not to come over here.
Nick: Well, I wanted to check on you.
Nikki: Well, I told you that wasn't necessary when you called.
Nick: Well, I came to check on Dad, too. I know he and Adam weren't on the best of terms, but to hear your son has died... where is Dad?
Nikki: He's out.
Nick: To see Vick?
Nikki: I don't know.
Nick: Well, he should be here with you.
Nikki: Unfortunately, turning to me in times of crisis is not often your father's first choice.
Nick: Well, I don't care what Dad says. You know, hearing your son has died is... it's really gonna hit him hard.
Nikki: Oh, well... oh!
Nick: Mom?
Nikki: Oh...
Nick: Mom?
Dylan: What did you say the problem was?
Avery: The problem is it's not working, and it's much too expensive to be inoperable. And if it doesn't get hot and actually bake things, I basically have a stainless-steel piece of sculpture in my house, which I don't need, so can you just do the thing that you do and make it work, please?
Dylan: Obviously, it's not the oven.
Avery: It's not the oven.
Dylan: What's going on?
Avery: Adam.
Dylan: I know. It's a horrible situation. I mean, he's gonna show up eventually, and then the authorities can do what they have to do and...
Avery: No, Dylan. Adam's dead.
Dylan: What?
Avery: There was a car accident. Jack's been keeping me updated.
Dylan: Is Billy all right?
Avery: He's in the hospital right now, but Adam didn't make it. And I could have prevented this.
Jack: Nope. Straight to voicemail again.
Cane: Well, if Jill got our message, she would have come back here the moment she heard Billy was missing.
Lily: Or she at least would have called.
Esther: I'm starting to get worried.
Jack: Where the devil are you, Jill?
Jill: Here I am.
Cane: Where have you been?
Jill: With my husband.
Cane: What?
Jack: What?
Jill: [Clears throat]
Esther: Husband? As in married?
Jill: Sharp as ever, Esther.
Cane: You can't be serious.
Jill: Oh, I am. Husband and wife.
Colin: It's Daddy. Don't I even get a congratulations?
Cane: Go to hell, Dad.
Jack: We've been trying to reach you for days, Jill. Where the hell have you been?
Jill: We'll talk about that later, okay? Um, I'd like to hear about Billy. First of all, where is he?
Esther: He showed up at his house a little while ago.
Jill: Is he all right?
Jack: He's a little worse for the wear, but he'll be all right.
Jill: I need to see my son.
Jack: No. No.
Jill: I want to see Billy.
Jack: He needs time with Victoria right now.
Cane: Yeah, and I need to know why you brought this bastard back here.
Summer: Are you sure this isn't a bad time? You seem kind of down.
Sharon: I just heard about what happened with Adam.
Summer: I'm really sorry. I know it's awful, and I know that he killed Delia, but no one deserves to die like that.
Sharon: You're right. He didn't.
Summer: Seriously, we can do this later.
Sharon: No, you know what? Um, tell me what's going on. It'll help keep my mind off things.
Summer: Okay, um, it's about my modeling career.
Sharon: Okay, if you're worried about what happened with the energy pills you took, that affecting your reputation...
Summer: Yeah, is not exactly the best PR for me or Jabot.
Sharon: So, is that what this is about? You're worried you've ruined your modeling career?
Summer: Uh, no. Actually, I need your advice on something.
Noah: What's going on, Courtney?
Courtney: I'm arresting this guy for selling drugs.
Noah: You're a...
Courtney: I'm a cop.
Colin: You, uh, want to go ahead and tell them how our happy reunion began?
Jill: [Laughs] Sure. I will, sweetheart.
Devon: Well, I can't wait to hear this.
Jill: Well, it really wasn't that interesting, was it? Um, we just happened to run into each other. That's all.
Jill: [Muffled screaming]
Colin: Right where we left off.
Jill: Mm-hmm.
Jack: As I remember, that was with you headed off to prison.
Colin: Oh, that was a gross injustice.
Cane: Whatever, Dad. You finish the story, Jill, so I can throw him out, please.
Colin: Are you gonna let him talk to me that --?
Jill: They're just worried about me. They want to hear about our happy reunion.
Colin: Oh, oh, well, go ahead.
Jill: Okay, so trust me. I was as shocked as you all are at how delighted I was to see him again after so long.
Jill: It's you?
Colin: Been awhile, love.
[Door closes]
Jill: Not long enough.
Colin: Oh, don't be like that.
Jill: Why have you kidnapped me, you disgusting pig?!
Colin: You're understandably upset given your predicament. I mean, it's fair turnaround, though. Minus the furry handcuffs, of course.
Jill: This is payback?
Colin: No! I wanted to see you. I would have knocked on the door of the mansion, but I thought, "maybe they'll turn me away."
Jill: I would have had you drawn and quartered. And if this is about revenge --
Colin: No! This is about love.
Jill: Love? I hate you.
Jill: "Happy" doesn't even begin to describe the feeling I had when I first saw Colin again.
Dylan: There's no way you could have stopped what happened tonight.
Avery: Adam has been tormented these past months. I didn't know why. If I had just watched the video that he gave me.
Dylan: What video?
Avery: He gave me a camera to hold on to for him. He said that he recorded something on it. It had to be a confession.
Dylan: You think he confessed to killing Delia?
Avery: It must have been eating him up. If I had just watched the video, I would have known what he was going through.
Dylan: Even if you had, what could you have done?
Avery: I could have offered him legal advice. I could have convinced him to turn himself in.
Dylan: But he did it. You defend the innocent.
Avery: Dylan, I know Adam, okay? He didn't just kill Delia in cold blood and leave her on the side of the road to die. He must have figured out that he did it later and then panicked. Why didn't I just see that? I could have helped him.
Dylan: You were a good friend to Adam. One of the few he had.
Avery: You're right. He didn't have many friends. And when this comes out, there's not gonna be anybody to mourn him.
Summer: Normally I would talk to my mom about something like this, but obviously that's not an option.
Sharon: I know how hard it must be not having her to turn to.
Summer: Yeah. Um, but ever since you started working with the Jabot models, I just always feel like I can come to you when there's a problem. I-I hope that that's okay.
Sharon: Of course, it is. But I could never take Phyllis' place in your life.
Summer: No, I know. It's just I feel like I can come to you with things that are important, like my future.
Nikki: Who are you calling?
Nick: Dr. Costner.
Nikki: No, I told you I don't want you to do that!
Nick: Mom, sit down. Mom, sit down. You passed out.
Nikki: I didn't pa-- I-I stumbled! That's all! And I'm perfectly fine now!
Nick: You're not fine. You're not fine. You have MS.
Nikki: That's not gonna make you faint!
Nick: I thought you said you stumbled.
Nikki: I-I didn't fa-- I just -- I don't want you blowing this out of proportion.
Nick: Look, Mom, you've been under a lot of stress lately, okay?
Nikki: [Sighs]
Nick: Then this news with Adam being the driver that killed Delia and then ending up dead himself.
Nikki: All right. I know. It is. It's a lot to deal with. But I can deal with it, son.
Nick: You don't need to be dealing with it alone. Dad should be here.
Nikki: Don't be too hard on him, all right? Because Adam's death, I'm sure, is stirring up a lot of emotions in him.
Nick: Yeah, I know they had a complicated relationship.
Nikki: Yes, they did. But I know that your father did not want something like this to happen.
Nick: Well, of course not. It's his son.
Nikki: And your brother. This must be very difficult for you, too.
Nick: [Sighs] [Scoffs] It's been a hell of a night.
Nikki: I just hope Billy's all right.
Nick: Well, I talked to Vick. They checked Billy into Memorial Hospital. They're gonna keep him overnight, but everything looks good.
Nikki: Oh, thank god. I don't think this family could take much more.
Nick: Take it easy.
Nikki: I'm fine.
Nick: [Sighs] I mean, with Katherine and Delia, now Adam, and Victoria almost losing Billy.
Nikki: Then on top of all of that, we have...
Nick: What?
Nikki: We have the ice. Everything is icy. That makes things so much more difficult out there.
Nick: There's something going on with you, all right? I know there is. And I want you to tell me what it is. I'm not leaving until you do.
Nikki: All right, damn it! Ian Ward is here! He's in town!
Nick: What the hell is he doing here?
Nikki: Well, what does it matter?
Nick: He came here looking for Dylan, didn't he?
Nikki: Don't you blame Dylan.
Nick: Don't protect him, Mom! He's the reason that parasite's here!
Nikki: No, that is not true! I went looking for my child! I'm the reason Ian is here!
Dylan: You can't blame people for feeling the way they do about Adam. He killed Delia, and he tried to cover it up.
Avery: He's been in hell.
Dylan: Him? What about Billy?
Avery: Jack said that he was in the car with Adam.
Dylan: He must have been going after him. I can't say I blame him. If I were him, I'd want revenge. A guy kills my kid, I would...
Avery: No, you wouldn't.
Dylan: When I thought Connor was my son, I mean, there wasn't anything I wouldn't do to protect him.
Avery: Okay, we don't know what happened with Adam and Billy, but I know you. You believe in justice. You're not a vigilante. [Sighs]
Dylan: You always see the best in people, even somebody like Adam.
Avery: I can't help but worry about Connor right now.
Dylan: It's crazy. At one point, he would have had two dads.
Avery: And now...
Nikki: Nicholas, you have no idea what Dylan is going through.
Nick: He had no right bringing Ward back into your life!
Nikki: Sweetheart, please!
Nick: Where is he?
Nikki: I don't want you going after him. Don't go looking for him.
Nick: Mom, tell me where Ian is now.
Nikki: I don't know! I don't know! I haven't seen him since he came by here!
Nick: He was here? He came to this house?
Nikki: [Sighs]
Ian: [Sighs]
Employee: Oh.
Ian: Excuse me. Uh, I'd like to get a room.
Employee: I'm sorry. There are none available. We are renovating most of the rooms right now.
Ian: Most? So, there are some rooms available, right? I mean, I don't mind all the commotion, you know. It's stimulating to be close to the, uh, pulse of your environment. It makes your surroundings come to life.
Employee: Well, most people don't feel that way. They hate the noise.
Ian: I bet you get a lot of complaints, don't you? And that can be very trying day after day, taking abuse for something you have no control over. You know, sometimes, we have to endure short-term suffering before we arrive at long-term serenity. I understand that. And I'm willing to take that burden. Plusm I'm a good tipper.
[Both laugh]
Employee: I'll see what I can do.
Ian: Ah!
Courtney: Yeah, a uniform's bringing him in right now. I'll be there soon.
Noah: So, you're really a cop.
Courtney: Undercover. At least, I was.
Noah: So, this is, uh, what you've been keeping from me? The big secret?
Courtney: What? You think there's something bigger than this I could be keeping from you?
Noah: Relative, Zach. Not really messed up, is he?
Courtney: He's my contact at GCPD.
Noah: Ah. [Scoffs] Chavez.
Courtney: Yeah. I work with Alex.
Noah: Oh, I don't believe this. Does Summer know that you went to the police academy?
Courtney: I was already a cop when I met her.
Noah: You met her in high school.
Courtney: I only pretended to be a student. The department thought I could get away with it 'cause I look so young.
Noah: So, you lied to Summer, to me, everybody about everything.
Courtney: Not everything. Not about how I feel about you.
Jill: Come on, you guys. All right, I admit that Colin's had some trouble with the law.
Jack: He's a criminal who should still be rotting behind bars.
Colin: Now, Jack. I can see you're still harboring these petty feelings of animosity. You're blaming me for Genevieve using you to mend her broken heart.
Jack: Don't make me laugh.
Colin: Really messed up that ego of yours, didn't it, knowing that, uh, she settled for second when she couldn't get first.
Jack: She would have chosen pond scum over you.
Colin: Maybe that explains --
Cane: Will you shut up so we hear what she has to say?
Jill: I have not forgotten all of the horrible, horrible things that he has done, okay? But in spite of that and in spite of myself, really, I just found myself having all these feelings for him coming back.
Jill: I hate your face, I hate your stupid voice, I hate every single part of you.
Colin: I happen to know there are certain parts of me that you're quite attached to.
Jill: Oh, my god.
Colin: And there was this time in an office -- whose office? Lauren. Yeah, Lauren's office -- we were going at it real hot and heavy...
Jill: I'm not listening.
Colin: ...That we accidentally tripped the silent alarm, and she burst in on us unawares.
Jill: Stop it! Stop reminding me.
Colin: And on everything else, too, for that matter. And then there was Katherine. Yeah, Katherine burst into your bedroom. You're in bed, stark, and I'm there modeling this cute, little pink number.
Jill: God, you nearly gave that woman a heart attack!
Colin: Yeah. But it was your pulse that was off the charts, as I recall.
Jill: Well, you have a rotten memory.
Colin: Oh, Genevieve! Yeah! We decided to christen Genevieve's desk at...
Jill: Oh, lord.
Colin: ...Jab-it." Yeah.
Jill: Jabot.
Colin: Whatever. Anyway, we were going at it there, and boy, was she mad. She was so furious.
Jill: You know what? Get me out of -- I want to leave!
Colin: Ah. No, you don't.
Jill: What do you want from me?
Colin: You.
Jill: I'm serious.
Colin: So am I. Marry me.
Lily: After everything he has done, you actually agreed to marry him?
Colin: [Sniffs] Making me the happiest bloke on earth.
Lily: I don't believe it. What's really going on, Jill? There is no way that you have fallen back in love with him.
Jill: I know it seems impossible. But look at those eyes. Look at that chiseled --
Lily: He tried to kidnap my children! He almost killed all of us! Really?!
Colin: Look, I have no intention of harming you --
Cane: Your being here harms us.
Jack: Okay, I'm gonna let you all hash this out. I came here to tell you about Billy.
Jill: I want to see Billy.
Jack: Not now. Tomorrow. He's at Memorial. I suggest you come alone.
Lily: How could you have let him back in your life?
Jill: Lily, I couldn't help it. I love him. And love makes you do crazy things.
Jill: I hate you. Why would I marry you? You think I'm insane?
Colin: No more so than you were the first time you became my wife.
Jill: Well, I've come to my senses. Besides, which, as you recall, our marriage was a sham because you were still married to Genevieve, you liar.
Colin: Yeah, but this time, I know a judge, and he'll marry us tomorrow.
Jill: I would rather stick needles in both of my eyes.
Colin: Fine.
Jill: Wait a minute. Why do you want to marry me?
Colin: I told you. I love you.
Esther: That's so sweet.
Devon: That's bull. The only person that you care about is yourself.
Jill: That's not true. Colin does care for me very deeply.
Jill: You love me?
Colin: Uh, and, um... well, I need you to stay in the country.
Jill: There it is!
Colin: Hey, look, I bought all these great outfits! Doesn't that prove something?
Jill: Why do you want to humiliate me? This stinks of mildew. It's second-hand. You bought it down at some discount store, didn't you?
Colin: It was -- look, I paid for five outfits for what I would have paid for one at Fenmore's!
Jill: Yeah, well, you got ripped off, okay? And if you think in that pea brain of yours that I would marry you in this or anything else, you're crazy!
Colin: Look, maybe -- maybe this will put you in more of a nuptial mood. Here. To... to our engagement.
Jill: We fell right back into our old routine, didn't we? We showed our love in our own unique way.
Colin: News from home.
Jill: Give me that.
Colin: Ah, dut, dut, dut. You don't want to go back in the cuffs again.
Jill: Who texted me?
Colin: Well, we'll have a look. Uh, we got, uh, Lauren, Esther again, Jack, Cane, someone called Hilary.
Jill: My god, they're gonna be worried if I don't respond!
Colin: But you already did, dear.
Jill: I -- you took care of it for me. Ohh, you text them back so they wouldn't worry.
Colin: Of course.
Jill: You are so...
Jill: The sparks were flying, and it wasn't long before Colin captured my heart again. All of me, really.
Jill: Colin! Let me out of here!
Cane: So, all this time, we're trying to contact you about work...
Devon: The fundraiser for Delia's foundation...
Esther: Pressing household matters...
Lily: Everything that has been going on with Billy, and what? You ignore us because you're too busy?
Jill: Because I was happy, okay? I haven't been happy in a very, very long time. I was blissfully happy.
Colin: How can I convince you that I love you and that I just want to be with you?
Jill: Go to hell.
Jill: I honestly can't remember the last time that I felt so euphoric.
Sharon: Summer, whatever is on your mind, you can tell me.
Summer: I just don't know if modeling is for me anymore.
Sharon: And that's the problem?
Summer: I don't know. I just don't want to disappoint my dad.
Sharon: Nick will understand.
Summer: I meant Jack.
Sharon: Right. Of course. Um, well, I'm sure Jack won't mind, either.
Summer: I don't know. It just seemed like he was so happy about me working at Jabot.
Sharon: Nick and Jack just want you to be happy.
Summer: I just feel like there's something out there for me.
Sharon: Well, of course there is. You're young, and you're smart. You can do whatever you want.
Summer: I don't even know where to start looking.
Sharon: Well, take your time, then. There's no rush.
Summer: Thanks. I think I just needed someone to tell me that I was making the right choice.
Sharon: When you follow your heart, you can't go wrong.
Summer: That's what my mom used to say. Whatever I do next, it's gonna be something that I know will make her proud when she comes back to us.
Nick: Yeah, I'm sure this is what dad wants, too. Yes. Immediately. Thanks, Bart.
Nikki: You didn't have to do that.
Nick: Mother, I don't want Ian Ward coming anywhere near this property ever again. How did it happen in the first place?
Nikki: It's not going to happen again. I made it very clear I don't ever want to see him again.
Nick: Well, from what you told us about him, I doubt this is gonna keep him away.
Nikki: Oh, god, I just wish you wouldn't get so worked up over this!
Nick: Bet this is nothing compared to the way Dad reacted. He must have gone ballistic.
Nikki: He doesn't know Ian is here.
Cane: Oh, so you were having such a good time, you just couldn't bring yourself to come home.
Colin: Well, I suggested that she return, but...
Colin: I just heard the news. The police, they're looking for Billy.
Jill: Billy? Oh, my god. It must be about Delia. Please, Colin, I have to go home.
Colin: My offer still stands.
Jill: That if I marry you, you'll let me out of here?
Colin: Eh, well, after you sign this.
Jill: A prenup?
Colin: Well, a guy's got to look out for himself.
Jill: God. Ah. [Chuckles] It says here that if we divorce, you get 50% of everything I own.
Colin: That seems fair.
Jill: [Sighs] I am so disappointed in you. Yes, I co-own Fenmore's, and Katherine left me her half of that ramshackle mansion, which by the way, I'm not allowed to sell. I have no money. I'm dead broke. So, if it's money you're after, you're out of luck.
Colin: Well, this should prove that I'm not.
Jill: So, you're still playing that love thing, huh? Wait till I find out what you're really after.
Colin: You want to see your son?
Jill: Take me home.
Colin: Vows first.
Jill: My one wish is that all of you could have been there to witness the happy event.
Colin: I mean, Jill couldn't wait to be Mrs. Atkinson. And here we are husband and wife waiting to start our joyous life all over again. Isn't that right, darling?
Jill: Yes, that's right.
Colin: Yeah. [Chuckles]
Jack: Where is he?
Nikki: Who? Victor?
Jack: Where is he?! He did this!
Nikki: Jack, you can't blame him for Adam's death!
Jack: Oh, can't I? Why not?
Nikki: He didn't want things to end this way!
Jack: He could have prevented it, Nikki! All Adam wanted was for Victor to love him! That bastard couldn't even pull that off!
Nikki: You're very wrong there! Victor did love Adam.
Jack: Oh, well, he sure had a disturbed way of showing it. When Adam was in his darkest hour, why couldn't Victor have just been there for him?
Nikki: That's just the way he is. It doesn't mean that he doesn't care about Adam, about Connor!
Jack: I am not going to let him destroy that boy's life, too.
Nikki: Connor is his grandson, Jack.
Jack: By blood. That is not always what matters most.
Ian: Mmm. Oh. Let me guess. You found a room for me. Oh. I knew I could count on you.
Hotel Employee: How long will you be staying, Mr. Ward?
Ian: [Sighs] Until my work here is done.
Summer: Thank you for letting me talk this out with you.
Sharon: Of course. Anytime. That's why Neil hired me -- to help out the young models.
Summer: You know, I wish there was something that I could do for you. If you want to talk about Adam or anything...
Sharon: Um, that's really sweet of you, but I don't think I'm ready yet.
Summer: You know, I felt the same exact way when my mom got hurt. But eventually I really appreciated being able to lean on people. And I still do.
Sharon: I'm sure I'll get there one day.
Summer: Um, I was wondering something.
Sharon: What?
Summer: Even though I won't be working at Jabot anymore, I was wondering if it's still okay that I can come and talk to you, you know, get advice.
Sharon: Of course, you can. Anytime.
Summer: Thank you. Thanks.
Dylan: I know what it's like not to have my biological father around.
Avery: Ian Ward is not much of a father.
Dylan: No, he's no father, not to me.
Avery: You know, there are other people that care about you.
Dylan: If you're talking about Nikki...
Avery: Actually, I'm talking about me.
Dylan: I'm here for you, too.
[Knock on door]
Avery: [Sighs] Hold on.
Dylan: Yeah.
[Door opens]
Avery: Nick. I heard about Adam. I'm so sorry.
Nick: I'm not here about Adam.
Avery: Then what?
Nick: I'm looking for Dylan.
Avery: Nick.
Dylan: It's all right, Avery. [Sighs]
Nick: I just came from seeing Mom.
[Door closes]
Dylan: Is she okay?
Nick: What do you think?
Dylan: I don't know. That's why I'm asking you. Is she feeling all right?
Nick: Her health's not the issue right now, Dylan. I understand there's a visitor in town?
Dylan: Yeah, I know she's not happy with Ian Ward being here.
Nick: He wouldn't be here if you didn't go looking for him.
Dylan: And it looks like you want to punch me in the face. Again.
Nick: No, that's not why I'm here.
Dylan: Okay. What do you want?
Nick: I want to know where he is. Can you find him for me?
Sharon: [Gasps] Cassie. I've been taking my meds. I'm going to therapy. I'm not supposed to be seeing you. This is because Summer brought up Phyllis, isn't it? That's why you're here. Answer me. Stop staring at me like that and just go, okay? Just go away pl-- [Gasps] I felt you. [Exhales]
Noah: Yeah, it all makes so much sense now. [Scoffs] How you always seemed so much older than you said you were, why I couldn't meet your family, the way that you were pounding on that punching bag at the gym. I can't believe that you're a narc.
Courtney: Noah, I'm sorry. I just -- I couldn't tell you anything. I'm the same age as you. I don't live with my family. I'm a third-degree black belt, and... [Sighs] I'm still me.
Noah: Who is that, Courtney? Is that even your name?
Courtney: Yeah, it is.
Noah: Why should I believe you when you lied about everything else?
Courtney: I never lied about how I felt about you.
Noah: After everything that I went through with Adriana, I really thought I could trust you.
Courtney: You can!
Noah: [Scoffs] I don't even know who you are!
Courtney: Noah, don't say that! I love you!
Noah: You don't lie to somebody that you love.
Courtney: Why do you think I broke up with you? I couldn't stand hurting you.
Noah: So, what? Now that it's all out in the open, we're just supposed to get back together, just pick up where we left off?
Courtney: [Sighs] I want to.
Noah: You claim you love me.
Courtney: I do.
Noah: I was falling in love, too... with Summer's best friend, a girl that had just started college, who hadn't even had her first legal drink, who took an internship at Jabot because she wanted a career in fashion. That girl doesn't exist.
Courtney: No, I do. I still want to be with you.
Noah: You're a stranger to me. You're a stranger.
Jill: So, that's it. That's the whole story.
Devon: I think you left out the part where you went temporarily insane, Jill.
Cane: Yeah, 'cause, I mean, that would be the only way to really explain what is happening.
Colin: Oh, come on, chaps. I mean, can't you accept the fact that Jill and I have rediscovered our love for each other?
All: No.
Colin: That's too bad. I was looking forward to reconnecting with the family. I mean, I can't wait to see the grandkids.
Cane: Let me make this very clear to you. You stay away from my kids, or I promise you --
Devon: Hey, Cane. Cane. Let's go. Okay? He's not worth it.
Lily: Yeah, come on. Devon's right. Let's just get out of here.
Colin: Esther, could you prepare our room, please?
Jill: You heard the man, Esther.
Esther: Mrs. C. wouldn't like this.
Jill: Mrs. C. is not here.
Colin: I hope Esther doesn't take too long preparing the room. I can't wait to consummate the marriage.
Jill: [Sighs] [Sighs] Shut up, Katherine.
Sharon: Cassie? She was here. I felt her. [Sighs] What is happening to me?
Ian: Well, hello again.
Summer: Hi.
Ian: Hi. Uh, how are you? Summer, right?
Summer: Yeah. Um, I'm doing better than when I saw you at the park.
Ian: I'm glad to hear that. I was worried about you.
Summer: Yeah, I'm still not sure about my future. I actually just quit my job, and I have no idea what I'm doing now.
Ian: You still have my card?
Summer: Yeah, it's in my purse.
Ian: Good. One of my areas of expertise is helping young people like you.
Summer: Yeah, I did some research, and you're like a career counselor or a life coach?
Ian: Yeah. Sort of like that, yes. You know, maybe the fact we keep running into each other means I'm destined to help you.
Summer: Maybe it does.
Ian: Well, if there's anything I can do for you, you have my number.
Summer: Yeah.
Ian: Take care.
Summer: Thanks. [Sighs]
Nikki: Why does Victor do it? He just can't stop trying to make things be the way he wants them.
Jack: You understand that man in a way I never will.
Nikki: I keep hoping he'll change.
Jack: And you know he won't.
Nikki: Well, you two aren't so different there.
Jack: Okay, I'm gonna let that slide.
Nikki: For both of you, it comes down to family. That's why Victor is the way he is. He worships and adores his family as much as you do yours.
Jack: And that's where the similarities end.
Nikki: He didn't have the security growing up the way you did. That's why he fights so hard to hang on to his family. It means everything to him. That's why he did what he did with Adam. He just can't see how things will turn out.
Jack: And not just with Adam this time.
Nikki: What do you mean?
Jack: Adam made me Connor's legal guardian. I'm telling you, Nikki. That's not something I'm gonna take lightly.
Nikki: Jack, please. Please don't fight him for his grandson.
Jack: I don't want you worrying about any of this. You focus on taking care of yourself.
Nikki: I will. My family needs me to be strong right now.
Jack: And you will be.
Nikki: Yes.
Jack: You always are. This family is lucky to have you.
Nikki: Oh, lucky. Right. We are so lucky. You know, sometimes I look at all the cars driving past the ranch out the window, and... I'm sure they're saying, "wow, look at all those horses, and they have private jets and that house. Those people must be so happy. They must have everything." If only they knew.
Dylan: Going after Ian Ward is not gonna help your mom.
Nick: Oh, so now you're worried about her?
Dylan: I never wanted to hurt Nikki.
Nick: Why'd you go looking for him in the first place?
Avery: Nick --
Dylan: He's right. I brought Ian to town.
Nick: Look, I haven't exactly made things easy for Mom, the way I reacted to all this, to you.
Dylan: Yeah, it's been, uh, tough on everybody.
Nick: We may never be friends, but do you think for Mom's sake, we can maybe work at not being enemies?
Dylan: Uh, wow. A white flag? Doesn't really seem like your style, Nick.
Nick: It's more like a truce.
Dylan: Okay. Truce.
Nick: So, if you find Ian or you...
Dylan: I'll let you know.
Nick: Thanks.
[Door opens]
Avery: Nick. I know that wasn't easy.
Nick: I did it for Mom.
Avery: You don't fool me, Newman.
Colin: [Sighs] The matrimonial bed awaits.
Jill: Hmm. Colin, our marriage -- it's worth about as much as this piece of junk that Katherine left me.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
David: You have a long engagement, right?
Neil: Uh-huh.
David: How long is "long"? Spring, fall, 2020?
Billy: I just need to know what is going on! Why haven't they found his body yet?!
Jill: You don't need me anymore!
Colin: But I do. And you need me.
