Kyle: We going line-dancing later?
Jack: Shh. Just listen.
Kyle: What am I listening for?
Jack: Ever hear the phrase "When words fail, music speaks"?
Kyle: That's lovely, but I still don't get it. What -- what is this music saying?
Jack: Its saying, "Wake up, Red. Come back to me."
Sharon: Summer.
[Hurried footsteps approach]
Sharon: Summer. Summer? Can you hear me? Call 911!
Noah: So, how do you do it?
Nick: Do what? Maintain my boyish good looks and outstanding athletic physique while also remaining a doting and attentive father?
Noah: I was gonna ask how you're consistently able to delude yourself about your appearance.
Nick: All right, listen, Slick, if you have a problem with all this, then you're in trouble in a few years, because you're gonna have to look like this.
Noah: I will deal with that when the time comes. But today I have more pressing problems.
Nick: All right. What's going on? How can I help?
Noah: How did you get over it so quickly?
Nick: Get over what?
Noah: A broken heart.
Nick: Ooh. That. Well, I guess I, uh, you know, chill at home -- put on the slippers, the robe, get a bunch of ice cream, and watch "When Harry met Sally" over and over again.
Noah: Dad.
Nick: All right, I mean, I guess that's the way I do it -- you know, I crack jokes. But that being said, I really like "When Harry met Sally."
Noah: So, when Avery left you at the altar, you went around making knock-knock jokes, yukking it up? That's how you got over it?
Nick: No. Not exactly. I mean, that hurt. It still hurts. But, you know, it's the way I deal with it. That's just me. I wish I had some secret formula to give you, Son. But every situation is different. What brought all this on?
Noah: What do you think?
Nick: I thought things were going really well with you and Courtney.
Noah: It was. It was great. It was moving along. It was fun. And then out of nowhere, boom, dumped. Courtney decided to end things.
Nick: All right. It's never just "Boom," you know. I mean, it might feel like that, but it's usually not.
Noah: Well, I think it all came when I called her out on her secrets. But that's her reaction? To just end it?
Nick: Sounds like Courtney may not be as mature as you were hoping.
Noah: This isn't about the age difference, okay? I haven't even thought about that in awhile.
Nick: But something did happen. I mean, something happened. Not all relationships last. I am prime example number one of that, Dude. But if Courtney feels like it's best for you both to move on, then...
Noah: This isn't about moving on, though. This is -- this is about Courtney not wanting to have an actual honest conversation. I nailed her about something that she was hiding, and instead of talking to me about it, she decides to break up, which makes me want to know the truth even more. I mean, what could be worth blowing up something as good as we had going on?
Victoria: You look so intense. What's up?
Billy: It's just these grief message boards.
Victoria: [Sighs] Are you sure you want to do that? They always get you so worked up.
Billy: No, it's -- it's just research. There's this phrase that's driving me nuts. Not "Mentally abandon my wife" nuts. Just "Bugging the hell out of me" nuts, Honey.
Victoria: Well, what's the phrase? Maybe I can help.
Billy: [Sighs] "Balancing the karmic scales." I heard Adam use it, and as I believe, somebody on this board did, too. I'm just trying to put some pieces together.
Victoria: Wait. Does all of this have something to do with Adam?
Chelsea: What cuteness did you catch on tape, Adam?
Adam: Stop!
Chelsea: [Gasps]
Billy: Adam? , It wasn't Adam. He just said something that jogged my memory. It got me thinking.
Victoria: Karmic justice.
Billy: Yeah, you know, and -- and I swear that someone on this post said that at one point.
Victoria: So... now you're back. Because you stopped for a while, didn't you?
Billy: This didn't help me the way that I thought it would. Maybe for some people, but for me, it's just too anonymous.
Victoria: That's good, though, because all of those sleepless nights -- I mean, you didn't even come to bed some nights, and...and I just felt like I lost you.
Billy: Hey. I was being productive, right? Drowning in my own misery. I'm sorry. I was posting about, you know, rage and loss and... wanting the driver to pay for hurting Dee. And I would get these random responses from people, but, you know, the more I think about it, I... I think it's the same person.
Victoria: Do you know who?
Billy: No. It's anonymous.
Victoria: Right. Which is most of the internet. People that want to lie or hide or make things up...
Billy: Yeah.
Victoria: If somebody said something to upset you --
Billy: No. No, it's not that. It's, uh... I just can't help but think this -- this person, this one person, who was writing to me in the middle of the night, they had a motive. They were trying to tell me something.
Adam: Here. Let me see.
Chelsea: What? I wasn't gonna break it.
Adam: I-I just -- I didn't want you to tape over anything, you know.
Chelsea: You trust me to hold our baby, but you don't trust me to hold a camera? Do you realize that makes absolutely no sense?
Adam: What do you want from me? I-I'm on edge, all right?
Chelsea: I can tell. Why?
Adam: Waiting for an answer from you. Are we gonna do this? You ready to start a life in Paris?
Nick: So, this secret. What do you think Courtney's covering?
Noah: I found some pills in her bag.
Nick: Whoa. Pills. Like -- like drugs?
Noah: She had an explanation.
Nick: And?
Noah: And I bought it. But now I think she's lying.
Nick: And you think they were hers? Okay. All right. You listen to me. If -- if Courtney dumped you, then she did you a favor, all right? The last girl that you were serious about, she stole a bunch of drug money, and then she left you holding the bag, literally.
Noah: I don't like where this is going, okay? Look, you're basically saying that I don't have any judgment when it comes to women, that I'm just walking around getting played.
Nick: I'm just saying, as your father, Noah, I do not want you mixed up with a young woman who's taking drugs, lying about it, and then dumping you without an explanation.
Noah: And as my father, how about instead of getting wound up, you tell me how I can help her? You went through all this with Grandma.
Nick: Yes, I did. And it was very, very hard. But the thing is, it didn't matter until mom was ready to get help, and the same goes with Courtney. And if she's dumping you without wanting to face this, it means she's in deep where you can't get to her.
Noah: So, what -- what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to just wait until she just spins out of control even more? Doesn't it make more sense to help her now? Look, I can't just -- I can't sit back and just wait for her to hit rock bottom. What we have is something -- it's good. It's really good.
Nick: You had something good.
Noah: I don't know, Dad. I want her to be okay.
Nick: I know you do. Look... [Sighs] I can just tell you that this only gets worse going forward. It -- it's no fun watching someone you care about hurt. You -- you start dating, and -- and then there's marriage, and you watch your wife suffer, and then worse, your kids. Son, it's a killer.
Noah: [Sniffs] If Courtney was your wife or your kid or your family, would you just walk away?
Nick: No, I wouldn't.
Noah: I can't just sit back on this one with Courtney, either.
Nick: Look, you can -- you can say all the right things, but if she's not ready to hear them...
Noah: Doesn't mean I can't try. I got to try, Dad.
Nick: All right. Look, everything I-I said, I just want you to protect yourself. If you are determined to go through this and try and -- and help Courtney... just know I'm here for you, all right? You need anything, you come to me. You know you can do that, right?
Noah: I do. Thanks, Dad.
Nick: Yeah. [Sighs]
Sharon: Summer, can you hear me? Summer, open your eyes, Sweetheart.
Esmerelda: They're asking, "Is there a pulse?"
Sharon: Oh. Just barely.
Esmerelda: Yes. She fell. Send an ambulance.
Sharon: Give them the address and then go wait for them at the entrance. Summer, help's on the way. I need you to open your eyes, Summer. [Whimpers] [Voice breaking] Your dad loves you so much. If anything happened to you... okay. I'm right here with you, all right? Help is on the way. And I'm not gonna let anything bad happen to you.
[Cell phone rings]
Nick: Hello?
Sharon: Nick! Nick, it's me!
Nick: Sharon? What's wrong?
Chelsea: [Sighs] The whole dream about moving to Paris, it just -- just seems so long ago.
Adam: Well, it's been a year.
Chelsea: [Laughs] I know. I-I wanted to go so badly with you.
Adam: I should have packed that bag and hopped on that plane a year ago.
Chelsea: But, you know, now we have my fashion line, and Connor's here, you know. He's -- he's so small. All of his doctors are here.
Adam: Yeah, I put a list together. Bunch of specialists in Paris, so the peanut -- he's covered.
Chelsea: Yeah, but, I mean, his whole family's here. He needs relatives.
Adam: His family? We're his family. We're each other's family. Us. You and me. And I'm sure Anita wouldn't mind the occasional first-class plane ticket out to Paris.
Chelsea: [Sighs] I-I don't know. I mean, Chloe and I, we're really hitting our stride with the fashion line. And, you know, the first few years are so critical.
Adam: That is precisely why you should go to Paris. It's a Mecca of fashion and design. Look, you can still use the internet. You got the best of both worlds.
Chelsea: And what about you?
Adam: What about me? I can work from anywhere. You know me. It doesn't matter. I'm taking the Newman hedge fund, I'm turning that thing into something so much more. You've heard me on the phone early in the mornings. I'm setting up international deals already.
Chelsea: There has to be something for you that's only here in Genoa City.
Adam: Wonderful memories. The Newman family. Yeah. We should have gone to Paris a year ago, and we would have avoided so much drama, to say the least. It would have just been you and me and our son, and everything else wouldn't have even happened. Look, Chelsea, we keep talking about wanting to start fresh, start new. So let's do this.
Chelsea: [Inhales deeply]
Billy: I mean, all this starts out very -- very general, very vague. "Maybe the driver is suffering, living in hell," that sort of thing. "Maybe his pain is your solace." But then it gets very specific. The driver can't look himself in the mirror. I mean, this is all a direct response to my post. I mean, Mr. Anonymous. It's like we're having our own conversation right here, back and forth.
Victoria: Or she. Mrs. Anonymous.
Billy: Yeah, sure. Or she. But I think whoever it is, they're trying to get a point across. I mean... [Scoffs] And they never even talk about their own grief. I mean, who gets on a grief message board if they haven't lost anybody? Who is this person? Why are they here?
Victoria: I don't know. Maybe they're an internet troll, someone who enjoys other people's pain. I don't know.
Billy: No, no, no. Anonymous kept trying to, like, talk me down and talk about the killer's grief. That sort of -- I mean, look at this post right here. "Maybe the driver is living in hell." Yeah? Okay. Really? Who the hell knows how the driver is feeling, huh?
Victoria: One would assume that anyone with a heart or a soul would have some sort of guilt.
Billy: Yeah, no, I don't think that's it.
Victoria: All right. What do you think, Billy?
Billy: I think that you're looking at me funny.
Victoria: Because I'm scared, okay? I'm scared. I just got you back. I don't want to lose you to that board.
Billy: I'm not going anywhere. I'm right here. This -- this stuff, I don't know. I just -- I don't even know what I'm looking for. I just heard the phrase, and it got me thinking, and it just -- eh.
[Doorbell rings]
Victoria: That's Kelly.
Billy: Um, that's -- why?
Victoria: Yeah, I guess I didn't tell you that I asked her to come over, did I?
Billy: No, you did not.
Victoria: Well, this is good, though, because you'll have somebody to discuss it with in the flesh.
[Door opens]
Victoria: Hi, Kelly. Come in.
Kelly: Thanks.
Victoria: Sure.
Billy: Hey.
[Door closes]
Kelly: Hey.
Jack: They measured Phyllis' brain-wave patterns after I played the music. She's in there. She's responding. Her synapses are going like that.
Kyle: That's incredible. The doctors really think it helps?
[Knock on door]
Jack: Absolutely. To the point, I'm thinking of taking up the banjo myself, going down there, see if I can wake her up. Come on in.
Hilary: Preemptive information. I still haven't found the source of Bonaventure's profit uptake.
Kyle: So, is she ever not working or...?
Hilary: I'm sorry.
Jack: It's a compliment. He's telling you he's impressed.
Kyle: That's right. Look, I'm sorry the meeting had to be here, but it doesn't help for all of us to be seen together in public.
Hilary: Is it wrong to admit that sneaking around makes it more fun?
Jack: Hey, business is fun. It's supposed to be. If we're not having fun, we're not doing good business. Now, back to Bonaventure, the magical Newman-Chancellor biotech subsidiary that was doing nothing forever and is suddenly making bank.
Hilary: Once we figure out how and why, then we have a chance to exploit the information. I just need to identify the source of this profit-margin increase.
Kyle: I think I might be able to help on that, actually. More pictures I took of the Bonaventure files before Christmas.
Hilary: More pictures? Have you looked at them?
Kyle: I have, and I think our way in might be one tiny, little pill.
Courtney: Kind of rough suddenly jacking up the prices.
Raven: Had to find a new supplier.
Courtney: Why?
Raven: Old one got busted.
Courtney: So, is this new supplier local? Must not be since the prices are higher.
Raven: The delivery comes to you. What else matters?
Courtney: New source? Maybe it's a new product. I'm just supposed to believe you that it's the same quality?
Raven: Feel free to hand it back.
Courtney: I was just asking.
Raven: Yeah, well, I'm just asking for my money. So, you got it?
Noah: You lied to my face. You are using.
Nick: Where is she?
Sharon: Oh, the doctors are in with her now.
Nick: I want to see her.
Sharon: I know, but you know what? The doctor said no one can see her right now. If you just wait a minute, you will be with her.
Nick: What was she doing? Outside modeling in the freezing cold again?
Sharon: No, Nick. I would never let that happen to her again.
Nick: Then what did happen?
Sharon: Apparently Summer was doing very well at the shoot. The photographer was thrilled. And by all accounts, Summer was so happy. And then there was this break, and Summer went out to get some air. Then Fenmore showed up even though he's on house arrest. He said that Summer called him and she didn't sound right. So I went out looking for her, and that's when I found her.
Nick: Where?
Sharon: At the bottom of a flight of stairs.
Nick: Stairs? You mean like Phyllis? She...
Sharon: I-I guess. I don't know. I don't really know what happened to Phyllis.
[Door opens, closes]
Stitch: Dr. Rayburn, the resident assisting on the case.
Nick: Yeah. Nick Newman.
Stitch: I know. So, you're the father?
Nick: Uh, yeah. How is she?
Stitch: No contusions, no breaks.
Nick: Well, how bad was the fall?
Stitch: This isn't about the tumble. The problem is Summer's heart.
Jack: An energy supplement, something to get you through the afternoon slump?
Kyle: Or finals week or that all-night party.
Jack: They're not even selling in the U.S. How are they making that kind of profit?
Kyle: Well, they got decent sales here. Pretty good in Mexico, too, but not huge.
Hilary: You're talking about my world now, Boys. The internet. Huge market for unapproved over-the-counter, prescription, and recreational drugs. Unregulated, no oversight, and very profitable.
Jack: And highly illegal. You really think its possible Bonaventure is selling drugs online?
Kyle: It's not Newman-Chancellor's style, but Bonaventure's a recent acquisition, so it's possible.
Hilary: But how else are they bringing in this much money? I mean, energy products are a dime a dozen. You can get a dozen of them at the gas station alone.
Kyle: Right. Well, check out this last page. This particular pill has an off-label use.
Jack: Weight loss.
Kyle: Between the energy spike and the weight loss, 5 bucks says they're selling to young women.
[Monitor beeping]
Nick: Summer's heart is fine. She's always been a very active, healthy person. She's fine. Now, she does have a peanut allergy. She's gone into anaphylactic shock. Could that be what this is?
Sharon: No, no, I told the EMT and her doctor that she has that allergy, and I made sure there was nothing on the set she could have reacted to.
Stitch: Yeah, this isn't about an allergic reaction. Which leads me to my next issue. Does your daughter take any medication by prescription or recreationally?
Nick: Are you asking me if my kid's on drugs?
Noah: I asked you point blank if you were using, and you lied to me.
Courtney: No, Noah, you don't know what you just saw right now.
Noah: Not again. Not again about your little poor, drug addict relative Zach, okay? No.
Courtney: Noah, please just listen to me.
Noah: What was she selling, huh? What'd you give her money for? Was it for a-a box of cookies for a scout troop? Hey, look at me. I can handle just about anything else, but not another lie, okay? So just tell me the truth. What the hell is really going on with you?
Victoria: Sorry. I-I forgot to tell Billy that you were coming over.
Billy: She did. Uh, everything okay?
Kelly: Yeah, uh, no. I just called the check, um, where you wanted the Delia foundation documents sent for your signature.
Victoria: And I asked her to come by. I hope that's okay. The other night, dinner was a minor disaster. I'd love to make it up to you. Maybe we can get coffee?
Kelly: No, thank you, Victoria. That's very sweet, but it's not, um, necessary, honestly. I just... I have these papers.
Billy: Okay.
[Cell phone rings]
Victoria: Oh. It's the office. I'll be quick. I promise.
Billy: Hey. Hey.
Kelly: So, I have these, uh, formal documents, um, for your nonprofit naming you as chairman.
Billy: Yeah. You did not need to bring them to my home. I don't care what my wife said.
Kelly: Uh, it's not a problem.
Billy: Okay, I'm sorry. I-I need to rephrase. I need to be very clear here. You should not come to my home, for your sake, for my sake. I'm not comfortable thinking about what happened. I'm not comfortable thinking about you. I am not comfortable thinking about that I risked my wife, my marriage, my family. You and I need to stay very, very far away from each other. Do you understand me?
Adam: The Paris dream isn't complete... without a home. Voilā.
Chelsea: Oh, wow.
Adam: Yes, wow. Floor-to-ceiling windows. It's got its own nursery, a courtyard garden.
Chelsea: Look. Look at those moldings. I would just stare at that all day.
Adam: Well, you could -- you could split your time staring at the moldings while you stare out at the Seine.
Chelsea: No.
Adam: Yes.
Chelsea: It's perfect.
Adam: It is perfect. We can do this. We can do this now. Why not? You know, our son, he doesn't have to grow up in Genoa City, some Newman on the fringe with my father looking over his shoulder. We get a second chance. Our son gets his first best chance. But I can't do this without you.
Chelsea: [Sighs] Okay. I want Paris with you.
Adam: Yeah?
Chelsea: Yeah.
Adam: Come here.
Chelsea: [Laughs]
Adam: Well, we can leave tonight. We could send for our things. We could buy new things.
Chelsea: Tonight?
Adam: Yeah.
Chelsea: What? We can't just leave!
Adam: We have to move on this house.
Chelsea: Adam, there will be other houses.
Adam: We should do this now. That's all I'm saying.
Chelsea: Why now? People don't just drop everything and move to another country overnight.
Adam: Who cares what other people do or don't do? We can do this. We have to do this.
Chelsea: We have to? Why do I suddenly feel like you're running from something?
Adam: I'm not running from anything. I'm running to the next thing. Why waste another second in this town, people who want us to live here and live these miserable lives?
Chelsea: "People" or Victor?
Adam: Last I checked, Paris has plenty of stores, which we can shop at to get anything that we needed, and you can always fly back into town from Paris any time you needed.
Chelsea: What about Jack and -- and Chloe and Jabot? What about Connor's schedule? I mean, moving is one thing. But tonight?
Adam: No, no, babies adapt, first off, okay? Secondly, Jack and Chloe -- last I checked, they're adults, so they're gonna survive. Tonight and a month from now, our issues aren't gonna change, so why not tonight?
Chelsea: Why not a month from now?
Adam: Look, that's exactly what I said to you one year ago. Then everything fell apart. I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm not gonna blow it. I'm not gonna blow it again.
Chelsea: I don't need a month.
Adam: That's my girl --
Chelsea: Ah, ah, but I do need a few days. Please, Adam, come on. You got to give me a few days. There's too much to do. I just -- I-I can't go tonight. I won't.
Adam: A few days. Okay. And then our new life. Come here.
Chelsea: [Laughs] [Sighs deeply]
Kelly: Let me get this clear. You think that I came here to -- I brought the Delia project papers at your wife's request. What did you think? I came here so we could do it on the floor while your wife is in the other room?!
Billy: Please, the volume. Bring it down. My wife's right there. Look, I-I'm just trying to be clear here. You know what? No confusion, no mixed signals --
Kelly: Well, let me be clear, Billy.
Billy: Okay. You be clear.
Kelly: Get over yourself! The reason that we did this is because we had grief and we were lonely, and it's never going --
Billy: What'd I say about the volume?
Kelly: ...To happen again. It was a mistake like you've said a million times.
Billy: Shhhh!
Kelly: We connected. We connected because we both lost a child.
Billy: Yeah.
Kelly: Friendships were based on a lot less than that.
Billy: Now we're friends. Yeah, now we're friends. [Clears throat]
Kelly: We -- we weren't friends before?
Billy: No, we were friends. We were friends, then we crossed the line. You don't get that? You don't see that? You don't understand that? That's why being friends, it doesn't work for us. And we're talking about this 20 feet away from my wife, and I can't give up my marriage because I lost my daughter. Can you see that?
Kelly: Why are you saying all this right now? Did Stitch say something to you?
Billy: What the hell does Stitch have to do with any of this?
Stitch: I need as much information as possible so I can treat your daughter, and if she's taken any medication, legal or otherwise, I need to know.
Nick: Summer does not do drugs, all right? One of her best friends just got out of rehab. She knows exactly the kind of damage they can do. That's not Summer. She's not that careless, so if it wasn't the fall, then why isn't she awake? I mean, what would trigger something in her heart like this? Is it an infection?
Stitch: We're running tests and monitoring her vitals for now. All we can do is wait for the results and gather as much information as we can.
Nick: I want to see her.
Stitch: We'll let you know when that's possible. You were with Summer at the shoot? Maybe there's something you haven't told us.
Esmerelda: Me? N-no, I just --
Stitch: Look, Summer's in bad shape. If you know something, you could help her. If she has something in her system that could react with the meds we give her, if she dies --
Esmerelda: Energy pills. Like an energy drink. That's all. Nobody told her to take three at once.
Stitch: Do you know what she took? Did you see the pills, any markings?
Esmerelda: I-I didn't mean to.
Stitch: Got to get these to the lab.
Nick: Jack should be here.
Sharon: You want me to call him?
Nick: I will. Hey, Jack, it's Nick. Um, I need you to call me as soon as you get this. It's about Summer. Bottom of the stairs, just like...
Sharon: No, Nick, it wasn't just like Phyllis. You heard what the doctor said.
Nick: This is her heart. It's different. It's her heart. It could be worse. We don't know. All we can do is stand around here and wait. We don't know if she's gonna wake up.
Sharon: She will.
Nick: [Voice breaking] I love her. I may not be her father anymore, but that's my kid in there. If I lose her, if I really... lose her... [Sighs]
Noah: So, are you ready to be honest with me? Yes or no?
Courtney: God, you're so sanctimonious. And I don't have to tell you anything. We broke up, remember?
Noah: Because you'd rather split up with me than tell me even one honest thing about yourself. That's sad, Courtney.
Courtney: No, I told you everything that mattered, and it wasn't enough.
Noah: Right, because it doesn't matter if you're using? What did you buy? How much of that is in your purse?
Courtney: That is not any of your business to know what I'm buying or selling or sticking in my purse!
Noah: I care about you, court. And if you need help --
Courtney: I don't.
Noah: Show me what's in your purse. Just open your bag and show me what's in there, and we can try to fix this.
Courtney: Because you're that righteous? You're that good? You know that I need help, and you're gonna be the one to help me? Fine. Okay. You want to see what's in my purse? Here. The key to your place, because I forgot to give it back to you, and I certainly don't need it now.
Sharon: Jack's not answering, but I've left messages.
Nick: Thanks.
Sharon: Well, at least he can't get angry with us for not trying to call.
Nick: He's probably gonna be angry with you because you didn't call him first.
Sharon: He might be, but he'll get over it.
Nick: Get over it enough to save your job?
Sharon: I don't know. Maybe not. But that doesn't really matter right now. We have to focus on Summer.
Nick: I got to remember when Jack gets here that he is... he's Summer's father. He needs to make all the decisions. As much as I wish it weren't like that, I have to respect his position. I don't want to add to the angst and confusion of this situation. Summer's had enough of that in her life already.
Sharon: I'm gonna try Jack again.
Nick: [Sighs]
Jack: There it is.
Hilary: Viva-surge. No manufacturer listed.
Jack: But we know from the files that Kyle saw that Bonaventure is producing it. How do we prove the connection?
Hilary: Time to place an order, see if we can follow the online breadcrumbs.
Jack: Oh, great. I'm back in the drug-buying business.
Hilary: No way. You don't need your name or your credit card in that system.
Jack: Whoa. You don't need that, either.
Hilary: Well, the old me should serve a purpose every once in awhile. Ann Turner. I still have a card under my former name. And the old me needs a surge of energy.
Jack: Wow. I told you she was good.
Kyle: Smart move hiring her.
Jack: Well, the least I could do after breaking her phone.
Hilary: Joke's on you. I got an upgraded phone and a steady job.
Jack: [Chuckles]
Hilary: Okay. And it's done.
Jack: Wait. Really? That easy?
Kyle: That's insane. You're copping drugs over the internet.
Jack: Well, we have to be able to follow the funds. Do you think you could do that from inside Newman?
Kyle: I can't imagine that Victor would condone this. The information might be in Bonaventure's system, but not in Newman-Chancellor's.
Jack: It doesn't matter. It's on Victor's watch. Any company he owns that runs afoul of the FDA is bad news for Newman-Chancellor. All we need is one opening to score a direct hit.
Billy: Why would Stitch say anything about you?
Kelly: I don't know. We were both at that disaster dinner.
Billy: You're not making a lot of sense here, Kelly.
Kelly: Well, you're not making a lot of sense if you think that I am trying to chase you. I don't want to complicate my life.
Billy: Okay, good. That's good. I'm sorry. I am sorry. This is my fault. It's my mistake. I'm just trying to be clear.
Kelly: I understand that you're trying to be clear. You love your wife. I didn't want to jeopardize that. I may not have a husband, but I don't want to screw up my life, either. I'm not a bunny boiler. So do me a favor, Billy. Take these papers, sign them, get Adam to sign them, and then do me a favor and mail them to me.
[Door slams]
[Footsteps approach]
Billy: Hey.
Victoria: Where's Kelly?
Billy: Oh, uh, she just gave me these papers and told me she had to take off, so... busy lady.
Victoria: Oh, Billy, come on. We both know that's not all there is.
Billy: What else is there?
Victoria: [Sighs] Johnny, okay? Listen, I thought that if he was with Hannah, everything would be okay, but... it wasn't, was it? Was -- was she upset?
Billy: Baby, Sweetheart, no, she wasn't. No. Not at all. I need to get Adam to sign these things. I'm -- I'm gonna -- I love you.
Victoria: What? What? You're leaving, too?
Billy: Yeah, you know, I'll be right back. I just got to get this done, you know? Big responsibility.
[Door closes]
[Doorbell rings]
Victoria: Kelly. Hi. Billy just took the papers to Adam
Kelly: Good. I need those signatures. But I'm not here for Billy. Victoria, there's something that I need to say to you.
Victoria: Yeah.
Billy: Hi.
Chelsea: Hi. Adam should be down in a minute. He's just on the phone.
Billy: Perfect. I just need to get his signature on this, uh, charity-foundation restructuring.
Chelsea: Great.
Adam: You know what? That's actually a good question. Do we want two -- oh, there you are -- two seats or three seats? Two seats. Yes. Uh, but we have an infant, so we'll have a lap passenger. He'll be with mom or -- or with dad. Great. So, you have all our information? Perfect. Thank you. Billy, what's going on?
Billy: Hey, you guys taking a vacation?
Chelsea: Actually, we're moving -- to Paris.
Billy: Wow. That's a lot and very last -- what?
Chelsea: Yeah. I know. We -- we really just decided. So if there's some stuff you need him to sign, you might want to do it now.
Billy: Yeah, that's very whirlwind. I mean [Laughing] I mean... why you leaving the country, Adam?
Hilary: Do you not know the rules about having an assistant? You do not book a meeting without letting me know.
Jack: What meeting?
Hilary: You tell me. Here we are, and I have nothing on the books.
Jack: This isn't a meeting. This is a meal. Two of us sitting, relaxing, enjoying ourselves. Imagine that.
Hilary: You are so proud of yourself, huh? Gives you a rush to be one step ahead of Victor Newman.
Jack: I have a few reasons to be joyful about my life these days. Oh, speaking of which, a friend of my daughter's. It's Esmerelda, right?
Esmerelda: Mr. Abbott.
Jack: Summer said you were working together today. How'd the shoot go?
Esmerelda: You don't know?
Jack: Don't know what?
Sharon: Summer is strong, she's resilient, and she's young. She's -- she's gonna wake up soon, and she'll be fine.
Nick: I lost her. The day I got those lab results... I stopped being her father. I lost her. But this is different. I mean, this is not about Summer being hurt or angry with me or having to share the holidays with Jack. This is... I mean, the thought of losing Summer forever, of her not being in the world, I... I just can't handle that.
Sharon: Nick.
Nick: All the years that she was in my life... were they just a lie? Did I steal from her the life she should have had? If I hadn't kept her from her real father Jack, do you think she'd be in that hospital bed right now?
Sharon: Nick, Nick, stop. Please. Nick, I need you to stop talking and just hear me out. There's something that you have to know.
