Victoria: Kevin?
Kevin: What? Hi. [Sniffles] I thought you left.
Victoria: Are you going in there?
Kevin: She's been by herself for a long time. Too long, I think. Somebody needs to be with her.
Victoria: She'll need you later.
Kevin: I feel like she needs me now.
Victoria: I know, but, you know, this all happened so fast. [Sighs] Maybe you should give it a little more time.
Kevin: I guess that would give me time to figure out what to say to her, 'cause I don't know what to say to her.
Victoria: It's okay. You'll know the right words. You know, when you need them, you'll know them.
Kevin: Do they even exist? I feel like she has to get out of there. At least out of that room.
Victoria: I know. But, I mean, do you really think she's gonna let you take her home if she's not ready to go?
Kevin: No. I guess wherever she is tonight, she's going to be doing exactly what she's doing right now. [Sighs] [Sighs]
Victoria: Jack. Did you find Billy?
Jack: No.
Victoria: Where did you look?
Jack: I have looked all over this place. The cafeteria, the chapel, the parking lot. I tried calling him.
Victoria: I tried calling him, too.
Jack: Went right to voicemail.
Victoria: Yeah.
Jack: What exactly did he say before he left?
Victoria: He just said that he wanted to be alone.
Jack: Nothing more than that? Any hint as to where he was going?
Victoria: No, nothing. Nothing. He was just blaming himself for what happened to Delia.
Jack: You think my brother is gonna do something crazy?
Victoria: Don't you?
Jack: Okay, he's obviously not in the hospital. Why don't we split up and try to find him?
Victoria: Okay, I'm gonna look at the house, okay?
Jack: I'll drive over to the Boulevard, to Joe's, any place he might be hanging out.
Victoria: All right. And if you find him?
Jack: I don't know what I'm gonna do. Or say. I guess I'll just be a big brother to him. Nothing is gonna make him feel any better tonight.
Victoria: I know what could. If the police find the driver who hit Delia.
[Adam remembering]
[Thump]
[Tires screech]
[Door opens]
[Door closes]
[Back to present]
Chelsea: Did Kevin call? [Sniffles] Adam.
Adam: Hmm?
Chelsea: Kevin -- he promised to let me know how Chloe was doing. Did he call?
Adam: No. No, no. He didn't call.
Chelsea: [Sighs] Poor Chloe. Seeing Billy tell her that Delia was gone -- [Sighs] I've been through so much with Chloe, you know? We spent so much time together, but I've never seen her that lost. Maybe I shouldn't have left the hospital, but Kevin insisted.
Adam: You just go somewhere?
Chelsea: Just the garage.
Adam: Why? The blanket.
Chelsea: I was looking for this. I finally found it in the back seat of your car. Connor must have dropped it.
Adam: I don't appreciate you snooping around in my car.
Chelsea: I wasn't snooping, Adam. It wasn't in my car, so I thought to look in yours. It's a good thing I looked around your car. You'll never believe what else I found.
Nikki: Mommy will be here very soon and take you home. Yes. I know whenever she leaves, seems like she's never coming back, doesn't it? Yes. But your mommy would never, ever forget you. No. No. Mommies like yours and me never forget our precious, beautiful baby boys. Never ever, ever. Yes.
Victor: Well, now, I can see you haven't lost your maternal instincts.
Nikki: [Laughs] How long have you been eavesdropping?
Victor: Long enough to realize that our children should be very lucky to have you as their mother. Look at you! Look at you.
Nikki: Just surprised we haven't heard from Victoria, you know?
Victor: Yeah, look at that.
Nikki: Should be some word from the hospital by now.
Victor: I'm sure we'll hear from her very soon. It shouldn't take the hospital that long to evaluate a child's injuries. Look at that.
Nikki: Unless it's something serious. I think we ought to go down to the hospital. Victoria might need us.
Victor: Oh, Sweetheart. We can't leave him here alone with the housekeeper.
Nikki: Oh, well, Bonnie is more than capable. Please, Darling. I'm concerned.
Victor: Sweetheart, I'm concerned about you. You look tired, okay?
Nikki: Well, don't you say the sweetest things?
Victor: Sweetheart, you're still beautiful as ever, but you look tired. You need rest.
Nikki: I get plenty of rest.
Victor: Not enough.
Nikki: Victor, please.
Victor: Sweetheart, I don't want to discuss this. We're not gonna take risks with your health. You're gonna stay.
Nikki: Fine. [Sighs] I just hope the reason we haven't heard from Victoria is because they've discharged Delia and she and Billy are busy getting her settled in at home.
[Door opens]
[Door slams]
Victoria: Billy? Billy! [Breathing heavily]
Jack: Billy? You don't have to say it. I know. And I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. You're not alone. I'm here. Little brother, aren't you cold? Here. Let me give you my Jacket. Hey, hey. You know what? You know what? Look, let me -- let me just drive you home. Victoria will be waiting for you when you get there. Billy?
Billy: We were right here, Jack. I was driving her home from her play. You should have seen her.
Jack: I'll bet she was amazing. Come on. Let's get out of here. I don't think it's a good idea to be here.
Billy: I got the whole thing on tape. We should get the whole family together just so they can see how smart...and beautiful and talented my daughter is.
Adam: Chelsea.
Chelsea: Sorry, I just keep hoping Kevin will call. What was I saying?
Adam: You said you found something.
Chelsea: Oh, right. Your car. I was looking all around it, and the light -- the light reflected something and I saw that it was the card -- the credit card you lost a couple days ago. It was on the floor of the car.
Adam: Thank you. Yeah.
Chelsea: I know you're really worried about Connor. I was so happy when the specialist said all he would need is this cornea transplant, but now realizing how difficult --
Adam: He's gonna get everything that he needs.
Chelsea: I know.
Adam: He's gonna be taken care of the rest of his life, looked out for. He'll get everything he needs. He'll get the best of everything.
Chelsea: That's what Billy and Chloe thought about Delia yesterday. [Voice breaking] Just yesterday when they were excited about her first school play. Chloe kept talking about how funny [Sniffles] Her daughter was and how she had her whole future ahead of her. I guess there are no guarantees in life, huh? You can lose everything in a split second.
Kevin: Chloe. I brought you some coffee. It's hot, so just be careful. Chloe. Sweetie.
Chloe: Kevin.
Kevin: Listen, I was thinking maybe it's time we get out of here. Will you come with me? Will you let me take you home and take care of you?
Chloe: I'm not leaving.
Kevin: I don't know how good an idea it is for you --
Chloe: They're gonna have to drag me out of here if they want this room back. Delia was here and I can still feel her. I'm not leaving.
Nikki: Oh.
Victoria: Hi. Where's Johnny?
Victor: He's in the nursery.
Victoria: I need to see him.
Nikki: Well, Honey, you're gonna wake him.
Victoria: I need to hold him.
Nikki: You will. Um, right now he's asleep.
Victoria: Is he okay?
Victor: Why wouldn't he be?
Victoria: Why is he in bed already? What's wrong?
Nikki: Well, maybe you've lost track of time. I-it's pretty late.
Victoria: [Sighs] Right. Okay. I'm sorry. I didn't realize.
Nikki: I put him down quite some time ago.
Victoria: Okay.
Victor: So, tell us about Delia.
Nikki: How is she?
Victoria: [Sighs] Delia's gone.
Nikki: Oh, no. No, Baby, no. Oh, my God. Oh, dear God.
Victoria: [Sobbing]
Victor: Oh, Sweetheart.
Nikki: Oh.
Jack: Come on. Let's go home.
Billy: Not playing, Jack. I need to stay. I'm fine.
Jack: How long?
Billy: Until I get some answers.
Jack: I am here with you as long as it takes, but it's only gonna get colder. Maybe you could do clearer thinking at home.
Billy: We were on our way home. And Victoria had this idea to have an congratulatory after party for our little star. That was sweet, wasn't it?
Jack: Sounds like a great idea.
Billy: That's what I thought, too, but... [Sniffles] So, the party's on. But you need ice cream. Right? You need ice cream.
Jack: Sure.
Billy: So I stopped off to get some ice cream at that grocery store just down there. Stopped the car. Told Delia to stay in the car. I went inside. I found the ice cream. I paid for the ice cream. I came back outside, and then she wasn't in the car.
Jack: Did you hear anything? Did you see anything? Any hint of who might have done this?
Billy: The coward who hit my daughter... [Voice breaking] He left her right there. And he drove off.
[Cell phone rings]
Chelsea: Kevin?
Kevin: Chelsea? Hi. Um, listen, I know you need to be with your baby right now, but...
Chelsea: Kevin, what is it?
Kevin: I need your help.
Chelsea: Yeah. What's going on?
Kevin: Chloe refuses to leave Delia's hospital room. I've done everything I can think of to try and get her out of there.
Chelsea: Well, what is she saying? Why won't she leave?
Kevin: She wants to see Delia.
Chelsea: Well, can't that be arranged?
Kevin: I spoke with a nurse and they said that there's this whole process they can go through, but... [Sniffles] I don't think that's a good idea. [Voice breaking] I don't think she should see Delia like that. Um... but one thing we know for sure is that Delia is not going back to that room, and I can't get her to leave. I need your help. She needs your help. I -- is there any way you can come back here?
Chelsea: Of course.
Kevin: Soon? Please? I'm -- I'm really worried about her. I don't know what the healthy way to handle something like this is, but this isn't it.
Chelsea: Yeah, I'll be there as soon as I can.
Kevin: Okay, thanks. [Sighs]
Julie: Ms. Fisher?
Chloe: If you've come to tell me that they need the room back, then you can go tell whoever that I'm not done here.
Julie: That's not why I'm here. My name's Julie Jackson, and I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Chloe: Thank you. But I really need to be here.
Julie: All right. Is there anything else I can do for you?
Chloe: I just want my little girl.
[Cell phone beeps]
Adam: [Sighs] [Breathing heavily]
Jack: Okay, we're on our way. I will. Right. Okay. I just spoke to Victoria. She's gonna stop and pick up Johnny on the way, and she's gonna meet us at the house. Billy, give me the keys.
Billy: I can drive my own car, Jack.
Jack: I know you can. Let me do this. Makes me feel useful. Come on. Give me the keys.
Billy: I stopped to get ice cream.
Jack: Billy, I know you're trying to make sense of all this right now, but hanging out here is not a good idea tonight. Come on. Give me the keys.
Billy: No, I forgot something else.
Jack: What?
Billy: [Sighs] Delia wanted me to get water for that damn dog. She thought he was thirsty. I forgot about the dog.
Jack: What?
Billy: The dog -- the dog. Delia's dog. Where's the dog?
Jack: Oh, I'm sure he's long gone by now.
Billy: No, no, no, no. She loves that dog. I got to find the dog.
Jack: Billy. Billy. Billy, get in the car.
Billy: Hey, Dash! [Smooching] Dash!
Jack: [Sighs]
Victor: How did the hit and run happen?
Victoria: Nobody saw the accident.
Victor: But, Sweetheart, that's not what I'm asking. I mean, how come the little girl left the car?
Victoria: Don't know.
Victor: Was she following Billy boy into the store?
Victoria: Probably, Dad. I just -- we have no idea, okay? I'm gonna help Mom with Johnny. I want to get him home before Jack gets back with Billy.
Victor: She was such a sweet girl, for heaven's sake.
Victoria: She liked you, too.
Victor: Have you told your brother yet?
Victoria: No, not yet.
Victor: Want me to do that for you?
Victoria: No, Dad, it's okay. I'll -- I'll tell him in person tomorrow.
Victor: You sure?
Victoria: Yes, I'm sure. This is gonna be really hard on Nick.
Victor: I know, because of Cassie.
Victoria: It's gonna crush him. Maybe he can help me. I don't know. Maybe he can help me help Billy somehow.
Victor: Maybe. Here comes the big boy.
Nikki: There.
Victoria: Is he sleepy? [Sniffles] Did you have a good time with your grandparents?
Nikki: Oh, yes, we did.
Victoria: Good.
Nikki: There's his jacket.
Victoria: Thank you for watching him while I was at the hospital, Mom.
Nikki: Honey, any time. You know that.
Victor: Why don't you spend the night? You both can spend the night.
Victoria: Thank you, Daddy. I appreciate the offer, but I'm gonna get the baby home. I think Billy is gonna need to see his son.
Nikki: I love you.
Victor: Let me take you to the doorway. Bye, Sweetheart.
Victoria: Bye. [Smooch]
Nikki: [Sighs]
Adam: [Sighs] [Sighs] [Sighs] Hi. Hey, Peanut. You winding down for bed?
Connor: [Fussing]
Adam: Here. You sleep all you want. Okay? You wake up in the middle of the night, don't you worry. I'll probably -- I'll probably be awake. I don't know how I'm gonna sleep. Come here. Come here, Peanut. I want to tell you something. I want you to know that I'm right here.
Connor: [Laughs]
Adam: That's right. I'm not going anywhere. Daddy is not going anywhere. I can't and I won't let anyone keep me from making you healthy and safe. Being with you -- that's all that matters now.
Connor: [Grunts]
Adam: That's right. [Sighs]
Chelsea: Kevin.
Kevin: [Sighs]
Both: Hi.
Kevin: Thank you for coming back.
Chelsea: Of course. I hope I can help. I'm so, so sorry. I feel so awful for Chloe and Billy and for you.
Kevin: [Voice breaking] Thank you. [Crying] I loved her so much. I know I wasn't her father, but --
Chelsea: No, but you were -- you were her father. She was a daughter to you. She was, in every way that mattered.
Kevin: [Sniffles, sighs] [Sighs] You know, when she was -- when she was so sick, I -- [Sighs] I thought I had prepared for myself for a worst-case scenario.
Chelsea: No one could have imaged this. Or prepared for it. This is the worst of the worst.
Kevin: [Crying] Its so unfair. [Sniffles] Chloe and Delia survived leukemia. Delia was finally okay. She was this happy, healthy little girl with her whole life ahead of her. [Sighs]
Julie: I can understand why you don't want to leave.
Chloe: She was here. She was right here. Took her last breath here. And I didn't get to say goodbye. I didn't get to hold my little girl in my hands and say that I love her. And it's like they just -- [Sniffles] They just tore her away, like they couldn't get her out of here fast enough.
Julie: Ms. Fisher, Delia's in another room if you want to see her.
Chloe: Where?
Julie: Second floor. Room 254.
Chloe: Oh! Thank you. Oh, thank you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. What was your name?
Julie: Julie Jackson. You just call me Julie.
Chloe: Thanks. Thank you, Julie. I'm so sorry. Is that why you came in here, to tell me where my little girl was?
Julie: It's one of the reasons.
Chloe: There's another reason?
Julie: I know how difficult this is for you, so... here's my number. Just call me day or night.
Chloe: "Hospital transplant coordinator."
Julie: We can talk about that later, after you've seen your daughter.
Chloe: You just came in here nearly an hour after my daughter was dead to ask me to donate her organs?
Julie: Time is of the essence, Ms. Fisher, but we don't have to do this now.
Chloe: No! No! Because we're not doing it now! We're doing it never because this is not happening, so you can get out! Get out right now, because no one is touching my baby girl and no one is cutting her up! Just get out! [Crying]
Kevin: Are you out of your mind? What do you think you're doing?
Julie: The last thing I wanted was to upset Ms. Fisher even more --
Kevin: Then why did you?!
Julie: Because we have so little time.
Kevin: To take Delia's organs? Do your research! If you had any idea of what you're doing, you'd know that she's not a candidate for organ harvesting. You just upset her mother for no reason.
Chelsea: The woman is gone. Kevin took her away.
Chloe: She is not coming near me or my daughter ever again.
Chelsea: Okay, whatever you want, that's what we'll do, okay?
Chloe: I don't understand. How could she even think that Delia's organs could be donated, because she has -- she had leukemia. And even if her -- even if it were a choice, no one is telling me what to do, okay? I -- I can't think about it. It's my daughter, Chelsea. Thinking about my daughter. I'm not thinking about it! I'm not gonna think about it! [Sniffles]
Billy: Come on, Dash. Come here, dog!
Jack: Billy. Billy, listen to me. The dog is gone. You're not going to find him.
Billy: I don't want to hear that right now, okay, Jack? I'm gonna find this dog. Delia loved that dog. I'm gonna find it. If I'm here all night, I'm gonna find the dog.
Chloe: That woman just made me so damn angry. She made me so mad!
Chelsea: I know. I know she did, but you took care of her. You sent her away.
Chloe: She's not coming back.
Chelsea: Right. Right. So, will you please let Kevin bring you home?
Chloe: No.
Chelsea: Chloe, you need to get warm. You need sleep.
Chloe: Chelsea, I can't go. I need to stay here.
Jack: Billy, it's going to be next to impossible to find a dog in the dark.
Billy: I'm gonna find him.
Jack: How? He's probably scared. He's hiding out right now.
Billy: I'll do it, Jack.
Jack: Billy, we can resume this search in the light of day. Come on. I'll help you. Doesn't that make sense? We'll go online, we'll put ads in the paper. Billy, let's go home.
Billy: I don't want to leave, okay? I'm not leaving. I'm staying right here. I'm not leaving.
Chelsea: What do you think will happen if you leave this room?
Jack: What are you afraid of, Billy?
Chelsea: Will you feel like you're abandoning Delia?
Jack: Will it make losing Delia more real if you walk away now?
Chloe: [Sobbing] I don't know what to do. I don't know how to make it right. I just know -- [Sniffles] I just know that I just have to stay here.
Chelsea: But, Chloe, you can't make this right. No matter how much you want it, staying here can't help Delia.
Jack: You can look for Dash all night, tonight, tomorrow, and beyond. Even if you find him... it's not gonna help Delia.
Billy: [Inhales deeply]
Jack: Come on. Let's go home. Come on.
Chloe: No. No, no, no. I'm not ready yet.
Chelsea: Chloe.
Chloe: There's something I have to do first.
Chelsea: What is that?
Chloe: [Sniffles] Room 254.
Cop: Are they doing a press conference on this thing?
Alex: Looking for tips.
Cop: You think they're gonna find the perp?
Alex: He left that little girl dying in the road. We'll find him.
Cop: Yeah. Even if we got to question everyone in Genoa City.
Victor: Sweetheart. You barely touched your food.
Nikki: I know, Darling, but, you know, there are people without MS who have days where food doesn't appeal to them. I think this qualifies as one of them.
Victor: But listen to me. You need to keep up your strength.
Nikki: I know. So you keep telling me.
Victor: Not only for yourself, but also for our daughter.
Nikki: Yes. Victoria is gonna need us. She adored Delia.
Victor: I just don't understand how anyone can drive down the street, hit an innocent girl, and then just drive on as if nothing happened. Who does that?
Nikki: We know what losing Cassie did to Nicholas. We all -- we all saw that. Billy must be going through such a horrible time.
Victor: Sorry to say I'm not really concerned about him.
Nikki: Not now, Victor, please. It's not the time.
Victor: To what? To call him the idiot he is?
Nikki: It wasn't his doing.
Victor: Of course it was. He left the child alone in the car. Who does that?
Nikki: Look, I know that you're not one of his biggest fans, but right could you just set your personal feelings aside and have a little compassion?
Victor: Compassion for who? He left that baby in the car by herself! How can he do that?
Nikki: Victor, please stop doing this about Billy! His child is dead! I would think that's enough guilt.
Victor: As far as I'm concerned, he can't feel enough guilt.
Billy: [Clears throat] Hey, um... thanks for the lift, but I've got it from here.
Jack: I didn't see Victoria's car. Why don't I just come and sit with you, at least until she and Johnny get here.
Billy: Because you don't have to. Because I'm home and I'm handling this and I've got it from here. Okay? I'm gonna be fine.
Jack: You sure?
Billy: No, I'm not. What choice do I have, man?
Jack: Billy, listen.
Billy: Look, Victoria is on her way back home. And I need a minute alone before she gets here.
Jack: You need anything -- anything at all, you be in touch with me, even if it's in the middle of the night.
Billy: I will. I will.
Jack: And I'll start calling the family.
Billy: [Crying] I didn't think about that.
Jack: You don't have to think about that. I'll take care of it. Just be prepared to be bombarded by all the love and support the Abbott family can give you.
Billy: Yeah. Yeah.
Jack: We're all there for you. We want to help you through this.
Billy: Yeah. Jack, um... thanks.
Jack: Jill, it's -- it's Jack. Um... I know it's late. C-can you call me as soon as you get this message? There's something I have to tell you. [Sighs]
Billy: [Sighs]
Victor: I'm sorry to harp on this, but Billy boy Abbott has not once taken responsibility for his screw ups.
Nikki: Victor, it's not a screw up. It's a loss. It's a devastating loss.
Victor: And he's responsible for it.
Nikki: [Sighs] You know, even if you were right, which are you not, don't you think the loss of your firstborn child is punishment enough?
Victor: Sweetheart, what I think is that he's not worthy of our daughter.
Nikki: Oh, God, no, please not this again. Not now.
Victor: And that he will, what he always does in cases like this, throw the responsibility for it onto someone else's shoulders.
Nikki: Here's what I know. I wish I didn't. But the loss of a child changes you forever. Forever. And Billy is never going to be able to escape that, no matter how hard he tries.
Billy: Well, the thing is, this kid does know how to make an entrance. I mean, who else comes into this world on Valentine's Day in a cabin in the middle of a blizzard? This girl, that's who!
Victoria: Yes, and who delivered the bundle of joy?
Billy: Her daddy, with these two hands right here. Wow. I mean, you were, like, that big back then. And now -- now you're this big! [Growling, singsong] And you are so heavy, you're so heavy, you're so heavy you weigh a ton of bricks.
Delia: I'm not heavy! I'm little!
Billy: You're right. I'm sorry. You're little. You're daddy's little girl. You're always gonna be, right?
Kevin: Maybe you're in shock. Do you want me to call the doctor? Watch your step. You want any tea? Any food? Um, I bet Jill has sedatives. I can find you a pill. Here, here, here. Easy. Easy. Easy. Let me just take care of you, okay?
Chloe: [Sobbing]
Kevin: Listen to me. Listen to me just for a minute, okay? There is a way that something good can come from this.
[Door opens]
Chelsea: Where were you?
Adam: Needed some air after what happened to Delia.
Chelsea: Did you get my text?
Adam: About going to the hospital.
[Decanter clinks]
Adam: How's Chloe?
Chelsea: Destroyed. [Sighs] Angry and... sad. So sad. It didn't have to turn out this way.
Adam: What do you mean?
Chelsea: I mean if the driver had stopped... if the paramedics were called right away, they could have maybe saved Delia. I hope the bastard who did this is suffering.
Adam: I'm sure he is.
Chelsea: What? What's going on with you?
Adam: Nothing.
Chelsea: I know you, Adam. I know when you're hiding something. Whatever it is, just say it.
Adam: You're right. This is killing me.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Stitch: You saying there's nothing going on between you and Avery? 'Cause I don't buy it.
Nick: Sharon's the love of my life. I never got over her.
Victoria: You just keep watching that video over and over again. I really think it's doing you more harm than good.
Billy: Don't touch that.
Delia: ...Your little girl.
