Newscaster: A ton of moisture coming up from the gulf, colliding with a huge low pressure system out of Canada, and you know what that means. Bundle up, stay off the roads, and have those flashlights at the ready. Widespread power outages, at least a foot of snow, blowing and drifting are all likely tomorrow as this massive winter storm barrels into the Genoa City area. Be safe, devoted listeners. Be safe.
Jack: Talk about making life a little more difficult.
Victor: Hello, Jack.
Jack: Isn't the weather bringing enough doom and gloom? Everybody's running for cover already.
Victor: You through making jokes?
Jack: I'm through talking about Congressman Wheeler and his daughter. If you came here to make threats, turn around and leave.
Victor: I came here to tell you...to stay the hell away from Nikki.
Victoria: "Preliminary V.E.P. results show evidence of compromised transmission, coupled with increased serum levels of CSF IGG --" Mom... I don't understand. What does this mean?
Nikki: [Sighs] Maybe I shouldn't have said anything.
Victoria: You're sick. You're really sick. I mean, this is all starting to make sense now -- the reason you postponed the wedding, and why you've been acting so worried and distracted lately. Tell me what the doctor said. What's wrong?
Abby: Fancy meeting you here.
Carmine: Abby. Hey.
Abby: He remembers me. That's a good sign. I think the universe is trying to tell us something.
Carmine: What, that I should hold on to my phone?
Abby: That we were meant to run into each other like this.
[Both chuckle]
Carmine: Yeah, I highly doubt the universe works that way, Abby.
Abby: Stay. Let's have a drink. We have lots of catching up to do.
Carmine: I'm sorry, but since you bolted to New York, I figured that was it. I moved on. I'm with someone else now.
Michael: Fenmore, call us back. We need to know that you're okay, all right? Uh, yeah. So, you ready to talk?
Lauren: I'm looking for the aspirin.
Michael: Uh, sorry. I took the last two. Look, I hate what this is doing to us. We need to be working together. How long are you planning to ignore me?
Lauren: I'm just following your lead.
Michael: What lead is that, Lauren?
Lauren: You ignored... my feelings and our son’s. So how does it feel, Michael, having somebody that you love just act like you don't matter?
Kyle: So, Summer, what you were saying before -- I don't understand. Why would you think your friends hate you?
Summer: Because I've... done some bad things -- hurt people that I cared about. I don't know if I can make up for it.
Paul: Jamie, no. Don't do it.
Nikki: I misspoke. I-I don't know for sure that I'm sick.
Victoria: Mom, you just said that --
Nikki: I went to the doctor for a general checkup, and I assumed everything would be okay. But the doctor saw something in my blood that he didn't like, so he's doing some more tests. It just caught me off guard, that's all.
Victoria: Have you told Dad?
Nikki: Oh, he's so stressed out about Adam running the company. I don't want to worry him.
Victoria: Mom, don't you think he's gonna be even more upset when he finds out that you've kept something this big from him?
Nikki: I will tell him when the time is right, okay? In the meantime, this is strictly between you and me. I've told you this in confidence.
Victoria: All right. I promise. Whatever this is, I guess... Dad should hear it from you.
Nikki: Thank you.
Victoria: Thank you for coming to me with this. You know, you can come to me anytime.
Nikki: [Crying softly]
Jack: Nikki understands my situation.
Victor: I don't give a damn about your situation. You need a sponsor? You need a shoulder to lean on? You go somewhere else. You do not use her to get at me.
Jack: Okay. For starters, Nikki's a lot sharper than you're giving her credit for. I could not "Use" her if I wanted to -- and I don’t. We are friends.
Victor: Do not insult my intelligence on top of everything else. Your motives are ridiculously transparent.
Jamie: And you need to listen to me. Like everything Fen said -- that I'm worthless, a loser --
Paul: No, he's not. You're not a loser, Jamie. Step down from there.
Jamie: Stay back!
Paul: No!
Abby: You're "With" someone? What does that mean?
Carmine: What do you think it means?
Abby: Who is it?
Carmine: What do you care? You left. Who I'm with is none of your business anymore.
Abby: I don't believe you. You don't have a girlfriend. You're just trying to make me jealous.
Carmine: [Chuckles]
Abby: Well, it worked. I'm jealous. I'm also sorry that I stayed out of touch for so long. Please forgive me. One drink. Please. Let me explain.
Carmine: Okay, what part of "I've moved on" do you not understand?
Abby: Okay. If you want to play it like that... fine. I'm not gonna beg. Have a nice life.
Michael: All right, listen. If Fenmore pleads guilty to assault, I will do my best to see that he gets community service. With any luck, he will never have to spend another night in a cell.
Lauren: He shouldn't have had to spend last night in a cell. Because he isn't guilty, Michael.
Michael: Well, we'd both like to believe that, wouldn't we? But we can never be sure, because Fenmore has never talked to us about what happened that night on the roof, and that is the problem. To blindly accept your child's innocence -- that's not love.
Lauren: Really? And having him spend the night with the worst kind of kids -- that is?
Michael: So, ignore the facts. Ignore the evidence.
Lauren: If you say that word one more time, I'm -- I'm gonna scream! I thought I was talking to my husband, not the D.A. My mistake.
Fen: [Shivering] Hey! Hey. Thank you.
Summer: Fen. What the hell are you doing hitchhiking? Are you crazy?
Fen: I told you I was leaving town.
Summer: This is stupid! Hitchhiking?!
Fen: It's not like I could take my car! My dad would track me down in like five seconds! Same with a bus or a train station -- I mean, there are surveillance cameras everywhere.
Summer: So you're ready to get in the car with some total stranger that could wind up being some psycho?
Fen: It sounds better than having my life ruined by Jamie and his lies.
Paul: Jamie! Come on. Don't do this. Listen to me. What Fen did was -- was -- was not only cruel, but it was criminal. He's gonna pay for that. He's gonna pay for pushing you off the roof. He has to live with everything he's done, but you don’t. You can get past this. I know you can. And Fen was wrong. He was wrong about everything he said. None of that is true.
Jamie: Just leave me alone. Nobody will care if I jump.
Paul: That's not true, either. I know how lonely you feel right now. There are so many people that care about you. I care about you. Ronan cares about you. Michael cares about you. And we all believe in you. We want to help you through this bad place. We want to help you find a better life for yourself. It doesn't have to be this way. You know, I was exactly where you are right now. I was. Where I didn't care about anything, and it felt like there was no point to going on. And you know what I learned? I learned that everything in life... [Voice breaking] Even the biggest tragedy... is an opportunity to change... and to learn and to grow. Jamie, you're smart. And you're brave. And you can turn this around. You deserve better. You deserve to be happy. And you can have that. But listen -- you have to make the choice. Now, come on. Get down from there. I swear to you it's gonna get better! Please. Come on. Give me your hand. Oh, God. [Crying]
Jamie: No, I-I -- I-I-I can't go on like this.
Paul: No. Yes, you can. It's over. It's gonna be fine. Things are gonna get better. I promise you.
Jamie: No, they won't!
Paul: They are gonna get better, Jamie.
Jamie: Fen -- that night -- it didn't happen the way I said it did.
Michael: So, Paul, I've turned over Fenmore’s case to the assistant district attorney, somebody I trust to treat it the way I would, not up the charges to attempted murder. But I -- I can't be involved anymore.
Paul: Well, you don't have to worry about it. There's not going to be a trial.
Lauren: Why not?
Paul: Jamie just told me that he lied. Fen didn't push him. He jumped.
Lauren: [Gasps] I knew it. I knew it! I knew that Jamie had to have fallen or -- or jumped. I told him over and over that Fen could never do such a terrible thing.
Paul: Well, he might as well have, because Fen has been bullying Jamie for weeks. And that night, he drove him to the point of a complete and utter emotional breakdown. That's why he jumped. And he was trying to do the same thing tonight. Only he wanted to make it to the morgue, not to a hospital bed. And if I didn't show up -- well, let me just say -- in my opinion, Fen is far from innocent in all of this.
Summer: Where do you think you're gonna go that no one can find you?
Fen: I'm not telling you. You'll go straight to my parents.
Summer: I don't blame you for not trusting me. I haven't been a good friend lately.
Fen: Starting with how you used me to get back at Ronan... by pretending you were into me?
Summer: Look, I'm sorry, Fen. Okay? For everything. I really miss our friendship, but since I'm the one that started this, I don't expect you to forgive me.
Fen: Hey. I am in no position to judge anyone. And if you are serious about being friends again... it might not be too late.
Summer: It can only work if you stay in town, though.
Phyllis: Okay. So, marketing is doing a great job, and they're testing all the names that you came up with for the new fragrance. And things seem to be skewing to Red. This fragrance is going to be hot.
Jack: Incendiary.
Billy: We could just call it "Get a room."
Jack: Did you know Phyllis was the inspiration for the name?
Billy: Yeah, I kind of figured that.
Jack: So, should we talk about line extensions?
[Cell phone rings]
Billy: I apologize. Thought I turned that off.
Jack: No, take it.
Billy: It's Victoria. She wouldn't call --
Jack: Take it.
Billy: Okay. Hey, Babe! What's going on? Well, okay. As soon as the meeting's over, I'll take off. Okay.
Phyllis: Um, is something wrong with Johnny?
Billy: No. He's fine.
Jack: Hey, listen. If you're needed at home, go. Phyllis and I can take care of this.
Billy: You sure?
Jack: Yeah.
Billy: Okay. Thank you. I appreciate it.
Phyllis: Um, okay. So, I have the preliminary production results. Um, I'll get those.
Jack: Well, I think we ought to err on the high side. This fragrance is a guaranteed hit.
Phyllis: You have a crystal ball, do you?
Jack: I don't need one. How about a change of scenery?
Phyllis: What do you have in mind?
Jack: Dinner at my place?
[Slow-tempo music playing]
[Discordant notes play]
[Music stops]
Nikki: [Sighs deeply] [Clears throat]
[Music resumes]
[Music stops]
Victor: Don't stop.
Nikki: Oh, I-I-I'm so out of practice.
Victor: No, Sweetheart. It sounded beautiful.
Nikki: Terrible.
Victor: Don't stop.
Nikki: [Sighs] Well --
Victor: Go on. Let me hear. I love it.
[Music resumes]
[Discordant notes play]
Nikki: [Sighs]
Victor: I love to hear you play. What's wrong? What's wrong?
Nikki: Nothing's wrong. I'm just being silly.
Victor: Come here.
Nikki: I'm very happy.
Victor: Come here, my baby.
Nikki: I love our life together. Cherish every moment of it.
Victor: Mm. Mm. Sit down. Come here. We are two very lucky people, you know? Hmm?
Nikki: I know how determined you are to get Newman back. But... I just love spending time with you here, you know, just...
Victor: Well --
Nikki: ...Enjoying the simple things, just -- just quiet, beautiful moments.
Victor: Tell you what. When the company's mine again, then I will not put in as many hours as I used to.
Nikki: Promises, promises.
Victor: I mean it. I mean it. Baby, what's wrong?
Nikki: Nothing is wrong.
Victor: Hmm?
Nikki: It's all right.
Victor: I will surround myself with a lot of very capable people, and I'll just delegate a lot of the authority to Victoria. And then you and I can spend a lot of time together. [Cell phone rings] Who the hell is that? That can wait. By the way, that reminds me. When I was here earlier, the phone rang and, uh, some doctor called for you. Do you know what that was about?
[Knock on door]
Abby: Surprise.
Jack: Wow. I am surprised. Abby. Do I need to call security?
Abby: No, I come in peace. I was really mad about what you did to snake Newman away from my dad, but... I heard you had a change of heart and walked away, so...
Jack: So...here you are.
Abby: [Sighs] I just heard about everything you've been through -- the surgery, the complications.
Jack: Kyle also tell you about the pills? I had a problem, a serious problem. I'm still working on it.
Abby: Well, I'm here to support you however I can... up to and including... coming back to Jabot.
[Knock on door]
[Knocking continues]
Phyllis: Hey, Paul. What's up? I was, um, just about to change to go out.
Paul: I'm here about your daughter.
Phyllis: Wait a second. Summer? What -- is everything okay?
Paul: I just talked Jamie Vernon down off a ledge, literally -- the same rooftop as before. All of Summer and Fen's cyberbullying nearly drove the kid to commit suicide.
Phyllis: Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second. Wait a second. Wait a second. No, no, no. I already confronted Summer with all of this, and she had no involvement.
Paul: Did you look into it? I mean, did you really look into it? Because these are pretty serious
Phyllis: Um, I'm sorry, Paul. But my daughter is not capable of the things you're accusing.
Paul: She is. She was posing as a girl named Brittni so she could bully Jamie.
Phyllis: Why would she do that? Was this boy mean to her?
Paul: He didn't even know Summer existed until she went way out of her way to get to know him so she could -- she could humiliate him on FacePlace.
Phyllis: Why would she do that?
Paul: I don't know the answer to that. You're gonna have to ask her that question.
Phyllis: I will. I'll ask my daughter that question.
Paul: Okay. We're talking about a very vulnerable kid who is disadvantaged in a lot of ways. The poor kid's dad is in custody, awaiting trial. His mother isn't in the picture. And Summer, instead of being kind and showing some compassion to him, chose to bully him. So where were you when all this was going on, Phyllis?
Phyllis: Oh, wait a second. You want to talk about parenting skills? You really want to go there with me?
Paul: A kid could have died tonight. That's exactly why I want to go there with you. Summer is in this up to her neck. You need to take responsibility, Phyllis. [Voice breaking] And you be the kind of parent your kid deserves, the kind of parent I wish I were to my son. It's the only way to stop her from ruining someone else's life... not to mention her own.
Summer: No. Fen, please! Please just stay. Just stay until you see how things play out.
Fen: I already know how they're gonna play out. One night in that hellhole in juvie was enough. I'm not going back.
Summer: Fen, please! Okay, you can't go! They're gonna find you. You'll just make things worse.
Fen: Look, if I stay, they're gonna be worse for you! Once I testify at my trial, the whole world is going to know about Brittni. Your parents -- they're gonna know everything you did, and your life is going to be hell, just like mine has been. People won't look at you the same way again. Trust me, Summer. I know. So why don't we both just get the hell out of here?
[Keys jingle, door opens]
Billy: Hey. Got here as fast as I could.
Victoria: Thank you. I appreciate that.
Billy: Okay. So, uh... what's wrong?
Victoria: Nothing is wrong, exactly. It's just that I was thinking about something mom said about how the little moments in life mean so much more than business, and then I was thinking about that, and then I just suddenly needed to see you.
Billy: Okay. Well... [Chuckles] ...There's nothing I'd rather do than play hooky with my beautiful wife. What can I do? Why don't we get all bundled up, and we'll take Johnny sledding?
Victoria: Oh, now? Well, there's a storm coming.
Billy: Okay, fine. If you want to go the safe route, I suppose we could go upstairs, get under the covers, and have a long reading session. I mean, Johnny’s got enough storybooks to last him a year.
Victoria: Yeah. I remember when I used to curl up with Reed and read aloud to him. It was really sweet. You know, I wish I had more time to spend with him. His last visit was so short.
Billy: You can always video chat. What time is it in Washington? I mean, I know it's a school night.
Victoria: He'd be up.
Billy: Do it. Next best thing to being there. Pull out your laptop, tell him I said hi. Johnny and Curious George and Dr. Seuss and Pat the Bunny and I will be upstairs waiting on you. [Chuckles]
Victoria: I love you.
Billy: Love you, too.
Nikki: That was probably Dr. Marsh calling with my blood work.
Victor: Hmm. Why don't you call him back?
Nikki: Oh, they're probably gone from the office now. Anyway, I want to enjoy this moment a little longer.
Victor: Look at me. You're as beautiful... as when I first met you.
Nikki: Remind me to hide your glasses more often.
Victor: [Laughs]
Nikki: [Chuckles]
Victor: You know what I'm looking forward to?
Nikki: What?
Victor: Walking down the aisle again. Yeah. And then... we go on our honeymoon. We'll take my jet, fly all around the world. And then we'll take my yacht. I have one in the Mediterranean. And we start in Barcelona. We'll go to Nice. Then from there, around the boot and go to Venice. Would you like that?
Nikki: I would love that. But it's not going to happen.
Victor: Don't say that.
Michael: I have never been more happy to be wrong in my life. Fenmore did not push Jamie. That's a load off my mind. But when I think of the wounds inflicted on that boy to the point... where he wanted to take his own life...
Lauren: Are you saying that you still want to prosecute Fen?
Michael: Listen to me. I never wanted to do that. That's why I took myself off the case -- because as hard as it is for you to believe, my family is the most important thing to me.
Lauren: When you allowed Fen to be arrested... you hurt me deeply. And our son.
Michael: Okay. Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry about that. I know I have a lot to make up for, to both of you.
Lauren: I'm not sure... that'll be possible.
Fen: Well? You know I'm right.
Summer: Yeah. You are. When my parents asked me if I had anything to do with Jamie’s being bullied, I told them no. If it came out that I lied to them, I don't know if I'd ever be able to face them again.
Fen: So come with me. You won't have to.
Summer: Fen, we -- we can't just leave, okay? We have to -- we have to come up with some money. We have to make a plan. Okay? And plus, the storm is coming, and -- look, I want to go with you, but I just -- I don't want to be driving in it.
Fen: Wait. This had better not be some trick to keep me from leaving.
Summer: No, I-I swear to you it's not. I don't want to be here when Jamie tells the whole world what I did to him. By that time, we're gonna be long gone.
Jack: That's a mighty big olive branch you're carrying.
Abby: They didn't want to let me on the plane with it 'cause it wouldn't fit in the overhead bin. I wound up buying it its own seat.
Jack: Abby, it's a sweet offer. But I just don't think that the Naked Heiress and Jabot are a good fit.
Abby: I'm sorry. Did I or did I not do a sensational job covering for mom when she was on her honeymoon?
Jack: Absolutely sensational.
Abby: Well, it wasn't an issue then.
Jack: Looking forward, I don't want our family's legacy to be associated with what amounts to a sophomoric gimmick.
Abby: I'm not interested in being associated with it, either.
Jack: Since when?
Abby: Since I left town and started assessing the damage I'd done to my reputation. I'm tired of being a joke. I learned so much from mom while I was away -- about integrity and sincerity and what it means to have class.
Jack: Your mother has an abundance of those traits.
Abby: She also taught me a lot about business. I've taken control of my finances and my life, and started acting like an adult. And the next step is getting serious about my career. So if you need an extra set of hands around here, I am your woman.
Jack: And that's your pitch?
Abby: I can't promise to be completely boring. [Both chuckle] But if you give me a chance, I will be the hardest-working, most-dedicated employee on your payroll. Well, the second-most-dedicated, after you.
Jack: Well, I guess we got to find something for you.
Abby: Are you serious? I'm hired?
Jack: We can always use another Abbott around here. Welcome home.
Abby: [Laughs]
Victor: Why wouldn't the honeymoon happen?
Nikki: We both know that you're not gonna want to be away that long... or at least until things are settled.
Victor: You know that I'll be C.E.O. by the time the ranch has been rebuilt and we're getting married.
Nikki: Yes, but you're going to want to be there to oversee everything, and that's okay. I mean, that's just you. But whether we have a long honeymoon or not... we have a wonderful future together. I'm not gonna let anything prevent that.
Victor: I won't, either. Come here.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Cane: Chelsea has drive, and we would be smart to get her while she's establishing her name.
Neil: Why are you so high on her?
Mason: I've done everything you've asked me to do.
Victor: Not everything at all.
Dylan: I'm gonna be here a while longer.
