Jack: [Breathes deeply] [Sighs] [Grunts]

[Door rattles]

Jack: Hello? Phyllis?

Kyle: Hey, Dad!

Jack: Kyle.

Kyle: Happy thanksgiving.

Jack: [Chuckles] [Grunts]

Nikki: They said they were on their way. They should be here by now.

Victor: Sweetheart, they'll be home soon, okay?

Nikki: [Sighs] Oh, Victoria! Oh! Sweetheart.

Victor: Sweetheart. Sweetheart. Your mother and I will take care of you now, okay?

Michael: It's a long and ugly list. Kevin's fixation with TagNGrab, his anger at Adam --

Chloe: Adam's Adam. There's nothing that we can do to convince Adam to not pull his money out of the company. But this is not just about a business for Kevin. This is his entire self-worth. Forget Crimson Lights. Forget his amazing wife and his adorable stepdaughter. I-it's like his entire ego is wrapped up in one website.

Michael: [Sighs] You have to be patient with him. Kevin thought he finally hit the jackpot. Give up a dream like that -- it's a lot to handle all at once.

Chloe: But he's not handling it.

Michael: All right. What can I do, besides get $15 million for him. What?

Chloe: [Laughs]

Kevin: [Clears throat] Let's play a round of "Guess the conversation." "Boy, that Kevin. Such a disappointment."

Michael: Failure was not the topic of conversation, Kevin.

Kevin: But you were talking about me, yes?

Michael: Actually, we were discussing our concern for you.

Kevin: I'm fine. I need to go check on... something that needs to be checked on.

Chloe: Hey, I, uh, already checked on that thing.

Kevin: Maybe this is something else.

Chloe: How about we just love you? Can you focus on that?

Michael: We missed you at dinner today. Gloria's worried about you. Why would you skip Thanksgiving dinner with the family? You know how she feels about that.

Kevin: Right. Should I have just shown up, tugged on the wishbone? "Ooh, I wish I had $15 million to save my future!"

Chloe: Our future. [Clears throat]

Kevin: Look, I'm sorry if I ruined anybody's Thanksgiving. I just... this business is the only thing on my brain, and I just thought it would best if I stayed away.

Michael: Well... it's not too late. I'm going home right now to Lauren and Fenmore, and I'm gonna have pie. I'm gonna have a lot of pie. Pecan and/or pumpkin. And we would love it if both of you would come.

Chloe: Yeah. Babe, pecan pie.

Kevin: Um... I'm just not up for it.

Chloe: It's just pecan pie. You know what? Just, uh, tell Lauren thank you, and we'll see you guys soon.

Kevin: Can you explain something to me? Whenever... the latest purse or handbag comes out, if you don't get it in the first week, you freak out. Our business has just caved in. You have not blinked an eye. Did you ever care about this company at all?

Paul: [Sighs]

Nina: Hey.

Paul: Hi. Thanks for coming.

Nina: Yeah, well, it seemed like the mature thing to do. Thought I'd give it a try.

Paul: Can I get you something to drink or...

Nina: No, thank you.

Paul: Okay. Then I guess I'll get right to it. What happened between Chris and me... I want you to know that you are the last person that I would ever want to hurt.

Nina: [Sighs] I know that. I do. And so... [Sighs] For you to hurt me anyway... you must have had feelings that were hard to fight. Something more than you feel for me.

Paul: Nina.

Nina: No, Paul. We don't have to talk about this anymore, okay? It's over. I mean... we are over.

Paul: It's not that simple.

Nina: Yes, it is. I'm going to L.A. today for good.

Paul: [Sighs]

Nikki: I have the teakettle on. You want something to eat? Okay. Maybe later.

Victor: Proud of you, Son. You said you'd bring your sister home, and you did.

Nikki: You want to take a bath? Want to just crawl into bed?

Victoria: I'd like to see Johnny. Is he sleeping?

Nikki: He is, but his dreams will be sweeter now that his mommy's home. Come on. We'll go see him.

Victor: You can pack your things and get out, all right? I don't ever want to see you near my daughter again.

Paul: You're leaving Genoa City?

Nina: My work is in L.A. My life is there. Chance is in D.C. Ronan -- [Chuckles] There's nothing to keep me here anymore.

Paul: You know, when I was out on bail, I used to imagine the moment that the charges were dropped or if I was found not guilty. In every vision, you were there.

Nina: You imagined it. I prayed for it. "Please, God, I'd give anything to have Paul free." I just -- I didn't know I'd have to give up you.

Paul: I had no idea. I never imagined things with Chris would...

Nina: I just thought if Cricket was gonna revisit the past, it would have been with Danny.

Paul: You know, for months, I didn't even know that I would have a future. And now... Nina, I'm -- I'm just finding my way. I just wish that...

Nina: We just had our great, big wish come true. The entire world knows that you're innocent. [Voice breaking] I don't think we get to ask for more than that. [Sniffles]

Paul: Sorry.

Christine: Could you just wait a minute, please?

Nina: No more apologies, okay?

Paul: [Sighs]

Chloe: How can you say that I don't care? Did you not just see me here, talking with your brother? We are crushed about the company. We're worried about you.

Kevin: Because I'm not doing a happy dance about Adam backing out? I'm allowed to have my emotions.

Chloe: Yeah, and I'm allowed to love and care for you.

Tucker: Hey, Kevin, Chloe. Glad I ran into you. Saves me a phone call.

Kevin: What's up?

Tucker: Tagngrab.

Kevin: Yeah? Are you looking to invest?

Tucker: I am. Adam offered me his share.

Chloe: Did you say yes?

Tucker: I said yes.

Kevin: Oh! [Gasping] Oh, this is a Thanksgiving miracle! This is so great! You are not gonna regret this! Oh, my gosh! [Sighs]

Tucker: Have you given the contract a good read?

Chloe: Well, we know that Adam did himself all sorts of favors and left us high and dry.

Kevin: Well, not so high and dry, now that you and your wallet are here making it rain.

Tucker: Hold on a second. You might still find yourselves a little bit parched. There's a loophole in the deal. If the main investor, Adam, sells his share, and if the buyer so desires, you and Chloe can be bought out for a nominal fee. Pennies on the dollar. Turns out I so desire.

Kyle: And Abby has got shoes everywhere. And you say anything about them, you get, "Oh, but they're so cute. And my feet are so small. They don't take up any space."

Jack: Tell me about your aunts.

Kyle: Ashley's great. We see Traci and Steve all the time. East-coast Abbotts are all right.

Jack: Great. My phone call with them was much too short. I-I miss them all.

Kyle: Yeah, I know. Those short phone calls... that must be the reason why you couldn't tell us about your surgery till after the fact.

Jack: This family has had enough drama. We don't need to raise a hue and cry over a simple medical procedure. I'm good as new.

Kyle: You're worried about drama? Not -- I don't know -- maybe the deafening silence? Or, what, maybe you figured we couldn't come rushing to your hospital bedside?

Jack: It doesn't matter now. It's all over.

Kyle: You fired Ashley as Jabot's C.E.O. Abby thinks your Newman takeover put Victor in the hospital. Hey, you haven't done anything to Traci yet. Maybe you better step up your game on that one.

Jack: I have a plan for Newman, just as I've always had a plan for Jabot. I would think my family would support that.

Kyle: Yeah, sure. We'll set up a whole cheering section for you. Save a seat for Billy. Oh, wait. You fired him, too. Dad, your cheering section is getting a little bit thin.

Billy: Uh, this is my house. Upstairs is my wife. This is the one place you don't get to throw your weight around with me.

Nicholas: Vic is home, and she's safe. There's no more guys with guns. I'm gonna go home and see my kids. But let me say this, Dad. We busted in that door in Miami, and Billy was right there with me. He didn't care what was on the other side. He would have given his life for Victoria, and that's got to mean something. It certainly means something to me.

[Door closes]

Victor: You can follow him now, okay?

Billy: My mistake was a long time ago. It was before Hong Kong, before I knew your daughter was gonna be my wife. I screwed up. I know it. It came back to bite me.

Victor: No, Billy Boy. It came back to bite Victoria. You're the one who should have had a gun to his head.

Billy: I would have done anything to trade places with her. I would have spent a year in that hole so she wouldn't have to spend a second. I would have given anything to get her home safe.

Victor: Do you know how furious I am with you? You're responsible for Victoria being kidnapped. Your stupidity, your arrogance. You thought you'd handle it on your own. You couldn't, could you, now? You stay away from my daughter. Or else I'll let her know that you knew all along about my whereabouts in Los Angeles. Then she'll know you for the kind of fellow you are.

Kevin: The contract cannot say that!

Tucker: I'm sorry, man. It's all there. They call it "Fine print," but it's not really fine. Everything's there, out in the open.

Chloe: [Sighs] You don't understand. That company is our life.

Tucker: No, it's a business.

Kevin: Look, if TagNGrab is the heart, we are the blood.

Chloe: Yeah, I mean, if the company is worth anything, it's because of who we are.

Kevin: Yeah, why do you even want to invest if you don't want what we bring to the table?

Tucker: I already have people with your skills at a multinational level. Now, listen. You will be compensated in accordance with the contract.

Chloe: You said "Nominal." How nominal?

Kevin: [Scoffs] That is not nominal! That's nothing!

Tucker: You're young. You're smart. You'll bounce back. Don't let this get you down.

Kevin: [Breathing heavily]

Paul: [Sighs]

Christine: Nina's hurt, but she loves you, so just give her a little time and space.

Paul: She'll have both. She's moving back to L.A.

Christine: Follow her.

Paul: I can't. I meant what I said before. My feelings for you are real, Chris. So I follow Nina, and then what? She doesn't deserve a guy who wants to be with someone else.

Christine: This would be a time when she would call me, and I would help her get through this. But... she's not gonna call me this time.

Paul: [Sighs] It was selfish for me to kiss you.

Christine: But I kissed you back. Because what you're feeling, I'm feeling, too. Don't you see it? Can't you feel it? I'm falling back in love with you, too.

Nicholas: Summer? Faith? Noah? Who wants some turkey sandwiches? I do. Hey! "Took Faith for post-turkey froyo. Back soon. Noah." Seriously? [Sighs]

[Cell phone rings]

Avery: Hello, Mr. Newman. How was your impromptu travel?

Nicholas: Short trip. Long story.

Avery: Well, I have unlimited minutes. Start talking.

Nicholas: How about in person?

Billy: Victoria just got home. She's still traumatized. She's still shivering. And you want to tell her that now?

Victor: Billy, you have caused my daughter nothing but sadness and sorrow and unhappiness. And a stolen child and a pregnant mistress.

Billy: Yeah, who you sent after me.

Victor: And then you're responsible for her kidnapping. But I'm partly guilty. Because I failed to tell her that you knew of my whereabouts in Los Angeles all along. Had I told her, she would have left you then. None of this nonsense in Miami would have happened. Now, you have a choice. You leave her now, or I make sure that she leaves you.

Billy: You want some time with your daughter? Take it. Why don't you use that time to help her rest? I'm gonna go now, but I will be back.

Victor: You will be back to pack your things. Now get going, Son.

Billy: You're not saving her, you know. You're hoarding her. Newman got ripped from your hands, and now you're just gathering all your possessions around you. Victoria's just another thing that you think you own.

Victor: Get out.

Billy: Heh.

Victor: How are you feeling now, Sweetheart?

Victoria: Johnny is just -- he's so beautiful. His little face. Where's Billy?

Nikki: Yes, where could he have gone?

Kevin: Practically nothing! All that time and effort and work -- how can we have nothing?!

Chloe: We don't have nothing. We don't. We have exactly what we started off with. We have your brain. We have my style. And -- and we just -- we just move on.

Kevin: Tagngrab was brilliant! Otherwise, Tucker McCall wouldn't want it bad enough to cut us out, Chloe. That was our shot!

Chloe: Okay, it was one shot. It's not the only shot. Okay? I don't know what we do. I guess... [Sighs] I guess we'll just sit on the sofa. We'll -- I don't know -- order some takeout, curse the Gods, and then we just start over.

Kevin: What are you talking about? We didn't just get dumped before prom night. This is our life!

Chloe: I know. And I care as much as you do.

Kevin: Obviously you do not. Because you don't look upset. You don't even look surprised.

Paul: You feel the same way. Wow. There's even more proof to feel like a jerk. 'Cause all I feel like doing now is smiling.

Christine: [Chuckles] But our feelings -- you know, there are no guarantees. We can't go back all those years ago. We were so different. Besides, the past let us down. So I think we just need to... start over.

Paul: You know, honestly, I thought Nina and I had a future, and... you know, you and Danny wasn't that long ago.

Christine: I know. And there are gonna be some sad and hurt feelings. But in this moment... you deserve to smile if you want to smile.

Victor: You should eat something or maybe have some tea.

Victoria: No. I'll just -- I'll eat when I'm hungry, okay?

Nikki: We just want to help you get through this, Honey, no matter what.

Victoria: Where's Billy?

Victor: He, uh -- he left.

Victoria: Why?

Victor: Sweetheart, he knows he failed you. And for the first time, he's actually ashamed. He must never put you in harm's way again.

Victoria: [Sighs] I'm, um -- I'm just really tired right now. Do you two mind --?

Nikki: Honey, let me take you back upstairs.

Victor: Mom and I will wait for you down here, okay?

Victoria: I would really just like to be alone right now.

Victor: You mean you don't want us to be here just --

Victoria: No, I don't. You understand, right, Mom? I just want to be alone.

Jack: Billy! Hey, what a nice surprise. Can I fix you some leftovers?

Billy: Jack, you remember your clever plan -- fake me and Victoria out... send her on a lark to Miami?

Jack: L-listen, I've been trying to call you, and I... I think we need to talk. I'd love to have a good conversation with you about this -- you and Victoria.

Billy: I don't think Victoria's gonna be up to chatting with you... since your little trick got her kidnapped and almost killed. Eddie's lying face-down in his own blood in one room. Victoria's in the other. And the entire time, I'm thinking I'd just lost the woman that I can't live without.

Jack: The authorities eventually showed up and arrested this...

Billy: Max? Yeah, they did. But only after he had Eddie terrorize my wife at gunpoint. And then she had the added bonus of seeing him get gunned down right in front of her. Jack, Brother, you hit the jackpot.

Jack: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I hate that Victoria was in danger. But let's be straight about this. This is about your screw-ups, your gambling. I bailed you out in a big way before you went off to Hong Kong. I'd have covered this debt, too, if I'd known anything about it. Victoria going to Miami was all about you giving her confidential information so she could steal Newman back from me.

Billy: You set me up.

Jack: I gave you a chance to prove your loyalty. You screwed it up.

Billy: I screwed it up. You know, it wasn't enough for you to fire me. My wife had to get caught in the fallout, and probably my marriage, too, Jack.

Jack: I feel for Victoria. She's been through a lot, and obviously the two of you are gonna go through a great deal more, and I will be there for you in any way that I can. But I can't do that if you continue to pretend that this is somehow my fault.

Billy: Pretend? You think I'm pretending I'm not --

Jack: Billy, don't --

Kyle: Whoa! Whoa! Happy Thanksgiving. Hide the carving knife. What is all this about?

Jack: Everything's just fine. Right, Billy?

Billy: Heads up, Buddy. Your dad hasn't thrown you under the Newman Enterprises bus yet. But he will. 'Cause it's a known fact that you aren't a real Abbott until you have tire marks all over your face. Right, Jack?

Chloe: Look, I understand that you're upset and you are angry and you are frustrated, but you do not go off on me.

Kevin: Maybe you expected this was gonna happen all along, so to you it's not a big deal.

Chloe: Okay. We got through the Jana nightmare. We got through Angelina. Are we really gonna fight over a business?

Kevin: This is our future. Why doesn't that register with you?

Chloe: I'm sorry. Do you not recall that I'm the one who came up with TagNGrab? So don't you act like you're the only person here who had their dream crushed.

Kevin: And why did that happen? Because of Adam. Because he took our company and he put it through a meat grinder. Because you handed it to him! Why? Why? Because you never trusted me to come up with the money that we needed.

Chloe: No, because we needed an investor, and I found one, and it worked. It worked for a while.

Kevin: No! No! It never worked! He was a smug bastard the entire time because he knew! He knew he could just walk away and leave us with nothing! [Breathing heavily] You had to have all the answers, though. You had to fix everything. You never had faith in me. You never thought I could be the one to come up with a solution to the problem, did you?

Chloe: Well, you never did, did you?

Kevin: [Gasps] Wow.

Chloe: Wait. Kevin, wait. I didn't -- wait. [Sighs]

Avery: Hi. Come in. Come in. You just missed Summer and Faith.

Nicholas: What are you talking about?

Avery: They had dinner here.

Nicholas: Really?

Avery: Mm-hmm. Your girls can really pack in the turkey. Actually, Faith was all about the stuffing.

[Both chuckle]

Nicholas: Yeah, I know. Um, how did all that happen?

Avery: Well, Summer worked me like a champ for an invitation. Faith was just along for the ride.

Nicholas: Well, I wish I was here for them, but I'm glad they got a nice, normal meal with you. Although I can think of somebody who probably wasn't too pleased about that.

Avery: Uh, yeah. Listen, I wanted to invite Phyllis, but Summer...

Nicholas: Insisted her teenage head would explode?

Avery: Something along those lines.

Nicholas: Sorry she put you in that position.

Avery: What, ticking off Phyllis? I have put myself in that position often.

Nicholas: Yeah, well, you didn't deserve that. I should have been here.

Avery: Where were you? What's all the mystery?

Nicholas: Strange day. And by strange, I mean a little insane and terrifying.

Avery: You're scaring me.

Nicholas: I scared myself. Victoria was kidnapped. Billy and I just brought her home from Miami.

Avery: Oh, my God. Is she all right? So guns and gambling, and you rush right into the situation, not knowing if you would walk out.

Nicholas: Victoria's my sister. I don't care what the dangers were. I had to get to her.

Avery: Well, thank you for telling me. You Newmans are famous for keeping secrets.

Nicholas: Sorry. [Chuckles] Guess I'm just coming down from the adrenaline.

Avery: Well, I'm glad you're all in one piece. And I'm glad you're here.

Nicholas: You know, Avery, I've had so many close calls in my life... with the people I care about. They've been in danger and vulnerable. And it's always worked out. But then later, I think about... the time it didn't work out... with Cassie. Life is so fragile. You got to make every second count.

Nikki: We had to leave. Victoria needed her space. We had to give it to her.

Victor: Well, to be honest with you, I wanted to stay.

Nikki: Yes, to chase Billy off if he dared to return. How did you get him to leave, anyway?

Victor: Sweetheart, he has been nothing but problems for Victoria. She knows it. She's just loathe to admit it.

Nikki: Well, he's not gonna stay away. And that's his home. That's his wife. He has many failings, yes, but he does love Victoria.

Victor: I don't think he knows the first thing about love.

Nikki: Victor, they're not children.

Victor: Sweetheart, he's not an adult. Whatever Victoria thinks about him, it ain't love. My mistake was to allow him back into her life. I shouldn't have done that. I'll never do it again.

Nikki: I see. Because you can control hearts and minds. Victor, how many people have warned me to stay away from you? I mean, the love that we have has been called twisted. It's been called addictive, even abusive.

Victor: I don't give a damn what anyone thinks.

Nikki: Exactly. Because we have lived through it. We know how it feels. And Billy -- even though I'm very upset with him -- only he and Victoria know how they feel. If she wants to leave him, she's going to leave him. If she wants to stay with him, she's going to. We just need to stand back and watch.

Victoria: [Gasps]

Billy: Hey, hey, hey.

Victoria: Get away! Get away! Get away!

Billy: It's me. It's me. It's me. You're safe.

Victoria: Get away!

Billy: You're safe. Honey, you're safe. You're safe. Nobody can hurt you. I'm not gonna let anybody hurt you.

Victoria: [Panting]

Paul: Well, that's a new sensation -- not surviving on fear, anxiety, panic. I'm not sure what I should do next.

Christine: Maybe something wild, like watch a movie.

Paul: Yeah. Or make plans for next month, knowing I can keep them. [Chuckles]

Christine: I would like to buy some clothing that's not meant for court.

Paul: Yeah. Wow. Look who's walking on the wild side.

Christine: No, really. I am tired of courtrooms and cases and death and fear.

Paul: Being in jail, being out on bail, waiting for the charge waiting for the trial, waiting for the tape... I mean, it really did kill part of me.

Christine: What do you mean?

Paul: I don't know that I can do it anymore. Crime and evidence and guilty and not guilty. Wears you down. I think I need a change.

[Banging on door]

Kevin: Adam! Open up! You want to screw me over, you want to ruin my company, at least have the guts to look me in the eye!

Jack: How about a piece of pie? I think Mrs. Martinez made a dozen.

Kyle: So, Billy's still upset about being fired?

Jack: Billy is blowing off steam. I can handle it. Even if it's a little excessive right now.

Kyle: Or maybe it's an appropriate response to you always putting your business before your family.

Jack: What I do, Kyle, I do for my family.

Kyle: You do notice nobody's buying that, right?

Jack: They are wrong.

Kyle: Dad, is it worth losing actual people who love you just so you can hang on to all this stuff you only think you want?

Avery: You're right. This does matter.

Nicholas: Yeah, and we keep doing this dance. I come to you. You back off. You come to me, and then I back off.

Avery: Well, we do this because we don't want to hurt anyone.

Nicholas: No one wants to get hurt. This is a good thing.

Avery: [Sighs] Oh, this is so...good. I can't imagine anyone getting hurt from this.

Nicholas: This might be a good thing.

Avery: So, what do we do?

Nicholas: I say that I want to make every second of my life matter. I want to spend them with you.

Victor: How can you defend Billy Abbott when he almost got our daughter killed?

Nikki: Victor, I am just reminding you that Victoria is a grown woman, and her marriage is her own business.

Victor: No, it's not. Not in this case.

Nikki: Didn't you just say you don't give a damn what anybody else thinks about our relationship?

Victor: There's a difference.

Nikki: Just because she's your daughter doesn't mean that you can control her.

Victor: Listen to me. I know... that Billy Abbott knew that I was in Los Angeles. He failed to tell Victoria. She kept on thinking I was missing.

Billy: This is all my fault. Everything they're saying -- blaming me -- it's true. If that guy would have hurt you, I... I need you to forgive me. Can you forgive me?
