Cane: (Sighs) (Sniffles) (Sighs)

Lily: (Sighs) (Chuckles) There he is.

Cane: Who? Who is this man of which you speak?

Lily: Um, my husband Cane. Whenever you work very late, it takes you about, I don't know, two cups of coffee before you show up.

Cane: Well, just so you're absolutely sure...

Lily: (Chuckles)

Cane: And I will try and get home early tonight. And once I hire this P.R. consultant, my, uh, my workload should get lighter. I'm sorry.

Lily: Did you interview that woman I recommended?

Cane: Um, I'm gonna do it later today. Thank you. Thank you for that recommendation.

Lily: Well, don't thank me yet. I've actually never met her. She was recommended to me by a friend in New York.

Cane: Mm. Well, I will give her the hairy eyeball until she impresses me then.

Lily: Okay, but if you hire her, you'll owe me.

Cane: You can have whatever you like.

Lily: (Chuckles) Actually, there is something that I want to talk to you about.

Cane: What's that?

Lily: Your mom.

Cane: (Inhales sharply) (Sighs)

(Cell phone rings)

Genevieve: Bonjour, Gerard. Oh. (Chuckles) It's lovely to hear your voice, too. (Chuckles) I so enjoyed talking with you when we met in Paris, and I was just wondering if we might meet again. (Chuckles) Well, actually, I was sort of looking for a change. Um, and, uh, none of the professional offers that I've had here in the states are interesting or challenge-- Oh. (Chuckles) Oh, yes, yes, of course. I-I-I do understand. (Scoffs) Well, sure, I mean, if there is no place for me, then c'est la vie. Yes. Yes, let's do keep in touch.

Kevin: Have you seen our competitors' numbers?

Adam: It's impressive, but not overly so.

Kevin: Oh, come on. They just opened for business yesterday, and they already have more hits than we do.

Adam: For now. But I am, uh, chasing traffic with paid placements and search engines and all social media, so we're all right.

Kevin: And in the meantime, we're just lost in cyberspace.

Adam: Well, we wouldn't be if I hadn't let you push me into launching early.

Kevin: What the--push you? You jumped on board.

Adam: I reluctantly agreed, Kevin.

Kevin: Reluctantly? Is that what--?

Chloe: Okay, guys, let's not. We did our best.

Chelsea: Yeah, and despite having zero time.

Chloe: And I am done moaning about our not-great start, so let's just figure out where the competition got it wrong so we can get it right before Tagngrab sinks into World Wide Web oblivion.

Lauren: Okay, stop thinking and start talking. What's wrong?

Michael: When I took the D.A. job, I thought maybe there was a slim chance, a possibility that I might have to prosecute acquaintances of acquaintances. But two of our best friends for murder and attempted murder right out the gate.

Lauren: (Sighs) I know. And I haven't made things any easier where Paul's case is concerned.

Michael: I don't think I could have made it through any of this without you and Fenmore.

Lauren: Well, at least we've prevented Paul from pleading guilty.

Michael: (Sighs) For the moment.

Lauren: Who else is in trouble?

Michael: Phyllis--still.

Lauren: (Sighs)

Michael: I'm gonna have Tim Reid deposed.

Lauren: But I thought you already questioned him.

Michael: Yeah, but he was being evasive.

Lauren: Oh, but you don't want to depose him, because of what you think he knows.

Michael: My gut is telling me that when Tim Reid is forced to testify under oath, he's gonna incriminate Phyllis.

Michael: (Sighs)

Phyllis: I wasn't sure you were gonna come home last night, especially since I kept on calling you, and you-- you didn't pick up.

Nick: I needed some time. Yesterday was not fun.

Phyllis: Because of me.

Nick: It's not just you. Sharon's been blowing off work.

Phyllis: Why? Nikki's the one who went after Victor.

Nick: Who knows what's going on with Sharon these days? And getting a call from my mother at the airport last night-- that really threw me.

Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah, especially since she took off on her brand-new marriage.

Nick: Jack must be furious.

Phyllis: Yeah, I'm sure he's furious. I feel bad for him. But mainly, I feel bad for us. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you that Tim was blackmailing me. I'm sorry.

Nick: You should have come to me. I could have helped you instead of paying this guy off. Now we're stuck.

Phyllis: I didn't know what to do. I wasn't thinking straight. I didn't know what to do.

Nick: I'm gonna rip this guy apart.

Phyllis: You didn't go to him, did you?

Nick: Well, of course not, because I'm afraid he'll take this tape public, the one with your confession on it. And then what if he throws in that you paid him to keep quiet? What do you think that's gonna do for you?

Phyllis: I-I think it's gonna get me locked up for a really long time.

Nick: (Scoffs) Phyllis, where is the marriage in this marriage?

Phyllis: (Scoffs) What is that supposed to mean? What--

Nick: It means, before we said "I do," you made this big deal about wanting to know if I was gonna stick through it this time, for always, no matter what.

Phyllis: I know. I did. I-I did. I know. And you have. You have. You've been-- you've been amazing. You've been incredible.

Nick: I'm right here trying to get you to rely on me, to trust me.

Phyllis: I do.

Nick: Well, what you're doing is flying solo. You're taking all these risks that are gonna do nothing but hurt you.

Phyllis: I'm sorry. I didn't want Tim to blab to the police.

Nick: You should have talked to me. I could have helped you. Instead, you take money from our daughter's trust fund account to shut this loser up.

Phyllis: What do you want me to do?

Nick: I want you to stop making things worse. (Sighs) You gotta start trying to find ways to help yourself. (Sighs)

Billy: You know, I really cannot believe that Nikki took off searching for Victor like that, knowing what it would do to Jack.

Victoria: My mom really does love Jack.

Billy: Mm-hmm. As much as Victor?

Victoria: Well, when it comes to looking out for my dad, even if he doesn't need it, she really just can't help herself. It's kind of like who she is.

Billy: Mm. Well, she really screwed up this time.

Victoria: Throwing stones?

Billy: No, I'm not throwing stones, but I am going to shut up on this one...

Victoria: (Sighs)

Billy: Right now.

Victoria: Very good. You're a wise man.

Billy: Yeah. Really?

Victoria: So what are those numbers, anyway?

Billy: (Sighs) These numbers are the ratings for "R.S. TV's" big premiere. And these ratings aren't that big.

Victoria: Well, come on. You just got started.

Billy: It doesn't matter. Unless I turn it around quick, next week might be my last episode on air.

Victoria: They would cancel you that soon?

Billy: Yeah, they would cancel me that soon unless I find a way to bring a lot of viewers from 900-plus channels. Yes.

Victoria: Do you think Phyllis' story will do that?

Billy: I certainly hope so, seeing how that's what I promised.

Victoria: Well, have you found anything new?

Billy: Not a thing.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Billy: But Phyllis has to be hiding something about the hit-and-run.

Victoria: Yeah, exactly. Did you see how desperate she was when she came in here? She's definitely hiding something.

Billy: So does this mean you're still on board?

Victoria: If Phyllis aimed her car at Paul and Christine and ran them down and never even stopped, then the world deserves to know what she did.

Billy: Then that is my mission.

Victoria: Uh, Billy, you're not gonna do anything illegal, right?

Billy: Illegal? Me? No. Come on. No phone tapping, no computer hacking, I promise.

Victoria: Then what?

Billy: My sources in law and order, Baby.

Victoria: The D.A. and the cops? Seriously?

Billy: Oh, yeah. I just need to wait on my source to get back to me, and then I will nail Phyllis by the end of the day.

Lily: You and your mom can't keep avoiding each other.

Cane: I called her.

Lily: And?

Cane: And if she doesn't return my calls, there's not much else I can do, is there?

Lily: No, Cane, the idea is to keep peace.

Cane: If she wanted to keep peace, she would answer my questions about this whole Claude-Shirl business. That is what she would do.

Lily: She did answer them, but you chose not to believe her.

Cane: And you know why.

Lily: So you're telling me that she's the only one who knows about those childhood Nicknames?

Cane: Apart from my dad, who we know is in Australia, yes.

Lily: Well, like I said, someone else could have found out about the names that you and Samantha used to call each other. And that person could be behind the mischief that's gone on.

Cane: (Sighs) Well, okay, at least we're not receiving any more weird e-mails or packages. Let's just leave it at that.

Lily: (Sighs) Besides the weird e-mails and packages, this person is driving a wedge between you and Genevieve, which is exactly what he wants.

Cane: If there was only some way we could figure out who is behind it.

Lily: Cane, that could take a long time. You need to contact your mom.

Cane: (Sighs)

Lily: I mean, you guys have made so much progress, you know? You don't want to let some mysterious jerk just ruin all of that. Instead of shutting each other out, we should all be working together to find out who's harassing our family.

Cane: I hate it when you make sense like this.

Lily: I would really, really love it if you could start dialing your phone.

Cane: (Clears throat)

(Cell phone rings)

Genevieve: Hello?

Cane: Hey, Mom, it's me.

Genevieve: Ethan?

Cane: Thank you for picking up my call. I appreciate it.

Genevieve: If you're gonna accuse me and abuse me again...

Lily: Just tell her that we want to see her.

Genevieve: Was that Lily?

Cane: Yes, it's Lily. She's here with me. Listen, Mom, it's silly we don't talk, all right? You live in the same city, okay? It's ridiculous. I'd like to have a cup of coffee with you. Will you please come and see me?

Adam: How's their phone app?

Kevin: Even less user-friendly than their site. These transitions are so sluggish.

Chloe: We need more wallpaper options for the tag bricks and hotter fonts.

Chelsea: There's a subscription fee.

Adam: Would you pay it?

Chelsea: The site's fun to use, but it's not worth the money.

Chloe: Well, that's something, at least.

Adam: Right now as we speak, they're troubleshooting, as well. They're gonna revamp.

Kevin: I can program faster than those guys.

Adam: Well, what we need to do is talk strategy.

Phyllis: So, um, could you meet me, please? Um, right away. Uh, it's--it's--it's urgent.

Lauren: So you think that Tim Reid knows something that could hurt Phyllis? Why?

Michael: Phyllis dismissed Avery, an extremely competent lawyer. She dismissed her own sister as counsel.

Lauren: Yeah, that was strange, but how does that tie in with Tim?

Michael: It's the only recent development in that case. There has to be a connection, right?

Lauren: Maybe. Okay, what else?

Michael: The way he acted.

Lauren: Like he had something to hide?

Michael: He's weirder. I mean, ready to spill one moment, clammed up the next.

Lauren: (Sighs) I wish Phyllis hadn't had that personal thing with him, because then everything that she would have said to him would be privileged.

Michael: (Chuckles) I wish that, too.

Lauren: You know, another D.A. would be itching to get a crack at that guy.

Michael: The way Phyllis' luck has been running, Tim Reid is gonna tell all at the worst possible moment. I know he's withholding information about that hit-and-run.

Lauren: I hope you're wrong. But I trust your instincts. Phyllis is in so much trouble. (Sighs) What do you think she's gonna do next?

Michael: She's gonna do what Phyllis does best. She's gonna act recklessly and dig herself even deeper in. I would give anything to know what the hell is going on inside that head of hers.

Adam: Okay. (Sighs) What can we make happen in the next few hours?

Chloe: Well, um, I can amp publicity through "Restless Style."

Adam: How fast?

Chloe: Well, as fast as I can write and post.

Chelsea: Uh, don't forget to mention Tagngrab is free, while our competition requires paid subscriptions.

Chloe: Right. And you know what? I will beg and bribe all of my celebrity contacts to make them use and endorse the site.

Chelsea: Um, excuse me.

Kevin: Well, that'll get people to the site, but how do we keep people coming back every day...

Chloe: Every hour.

Kevin: To see what's new?

Adam: Well, taggers, they need to be, uh, into what's trending, so that way, they'll feed off of one another.

Kevin: Yeah, and I'm grateful for the users that we do have, but none of them are exactly dynamic.

Adam: Well, on the retail side, I'll pursue the high-end.

Kevin: And I will make sure Tagngrab is easy to navigate-- easy tag, easy buy, easy share.

Adam: Well, let's lock this down. Clock's ticking.

Kevin: Yeah.

Chloe: Bye.

Nick: (Sighs) Are you feeling as awkward as I am?

Lauren: Well, here we are great friends, and we don't dare say anything to one another, and you can't say anything that Michael shouldn't hear.

Michael: We can ask how Phyllis is, and we can ask how you're holding up.

Nick: It's been extremely trying. Phyllis isn't relying on her family, and she should be.

Michael: I can only imagine how bad that is, especially now that Avery isn't representing Phyllis.

Lauren: Did she hire another attorney?

Nick: For the time being, she's taking matters into her own hands.

Michael: (Sighs) I was afraid of that. Is there any chance that Phyllis and Avery can patch up whatever it is that came between them?

Nick: (Clicks tongue) That is unlikely.

Lauren: It's really a shame. They had finally worked through all their old issues.

Michael: Yeah. Yeah. They seemed to, anyway. Or did all that resurface again? Or was it something else?

Tim: Let's see. I'll have the... (Sighs) Lobster crepes and a mimosa. Uh, actually, let's lose the orange juice, and I'll have a glass of your finest champagne.

Phyllis: Thank you so much for coming by.

Leslie: Well, you did say it was urgent.

Phyllis: Yeah. Um, I-I-I'm sure you're swamped, right, now that they made you a partner at Abrams.

Leslie: Well, gotta put in those billable hours.

Phyllis: Yeah, definitely. Definitely.

Leslie: Yeah.

Phyllis: I've been following you this last year. It's incredible. I mean, you've had an amazing year. I mean, the, um, the majority of--of the court cases ended favorably for your clients.

Leslie: Yeah, they did.

Phyllis: Leslie, um, I-I need a lawyer. I-I just want to know if you'll-- you'll take my case.

Billy: Okay, thank you very much. All right. So according to my source, the formerly missing Dr. Tim Reid-- he was Phyllis' therapist back when she was married to Danny--

Victoria: Yeah, yeah, yeah. What about him?

Billy: Well, it seems that a long time ago, he was informally questioned by the authorities, but now--get this-- he's about to be officially deposed by the D.A.

Victoria: Oh. So Michael must think that he knows something.

Billy: Mm-hmm.

Victoria: How are you gonna find out what that is?

Billy: I'm going to hire my own private investigator to find Dr. Tim, and fast.

Lily: I am so glad that you decided to join us.

Cane: (Sighs)

Genevieve: Well, it's very sweet of you to say, Lily, but I kind of doubt that Ethan feels the same way.

Cane: (Sighs) Mom, I owe you an apology. I'm sorry that I put you on the spot like that.

Genevieve: (Scoffs) You all but accused me of being behind the whole thing. Its offensive, Ethan, to think that I would use my own daughter's memory against you or that I would send you those so-called gifts or--or steal from myself or trash my own hotel suite.

Cane: Well, given the extremes you've gone to in the past, I don't see why you think I'm surprised.

Lily: Cane. (Sighs)

Cane: The point is I'm sorry.

Genevieve: Okay. How is it that you came to realize that you were wrong about me, Ethan?

Cane: I've been thinking about the, uh, Gloworm matchbook we found in the ashtray in your hotel suite. It's bugging me.

Genevieve: And me...

Cane: Mm-hmm.

Genevieve: But how does one track who put it there?

Cane: Well, I'm starting to think that maybe it was a clue.

Genevieve: You mean, they want us to find them?

Lily: Cane and I went to Gloworm, and this guy "Claude Shirl" had a reservation there.

Genevieve: You saw him?

Lily: No. No.

Cane: No. No.

Lily: He was a no-show.

Cane: No, so I'm starting to think that maybe he did so we would check Gloworm to know he's close by.

Genevieve: A-and has there been any contact since then?

Lily: No.

Cane: No.

Lily: Anything at your place?

Genevieve: Nothing. But God only knows what he has planned next.

Adam: Yep, it just landed in my inbox. Thank you, Sir. Hey. Where'd you slip off to earlier?

Chelsea: Well, you had business to take care of.

Adam: It has been a crazy day.

Chelsea: You could call it a perfect day.

Adam: (Chuckles) Yep, right after I make these last few calls.

Chelsea: Or... you could put work on pause. Hmm? Yeah?

Adam: Well...

Chelsea: Hmm?

Adam: Maybe.

Chelsea: Maybe.

Kevin: We need to make the improvements to this site as fast as we can.

Chloe: Yeah, well, if the other one catches on and goes big, even though it's totally inferior to ours, we're sunk.

Kevin: Literally. And every hour counts.

Chloe: (Sighs)

Michael: Are we thinking the same thing?

Lauren: Yes, we are.

Chloe: What?

Kevin: Yeah, what? What same thing are you thinking?

Michael: Well, we might have a solution to one of your problems.

Leslie: Well, between what you've told me and what I've read in the news...

Phyllis: Here you go.

Leslie: The prosecution's case does have some holes.

Phyllis: Really? Oh, that's reassuring.

Leslie: Yeah. Now one question. Why is it that your sister, who's an outstanding attorney, is no longer representing you?

Phyllis: Um, you know how it is with family. I mean, a-Avery's amazing.

Leslie: Mm-hmm.

Phyllis: She's amazing. But, um, she just, you know, she... has these...

Leslie: Quirks that drive you crazy...

Phyllis: (Sighs) Yeah.

Leslie: And vice versa?

Phyllis: Well, I-I don't know, but yes, yes. I mean, obviously, you have sisters. (Sighs)

Leslie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Now if you and I were to work together, it'd be a completely different situation altogether.

Phyllis: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Leslie, completely different. We've worked together before.

Leslie: All right. Mm-hmm.

Phyllis: There's no baggage, and there's no expectations to meet.

Leslie: All right, then, we have a deal.

Phyllis: (Gasps) Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Leslie: (Chuckles) Of course. I'll have the case file sent over to my office.

Phyllis: Oh, great.

Leslie: Yeah.

Phyllis: (Sighs)

Billy: So my P.I.'s on the Tim case.

Victoria: And where are you headed?

Billy: I'm gonna be ready to move in case he finds anything, so...

Victoria: Good luck.

Billy: Bye.

Victoria: Bye.

Billy: Hi.

Nick: Is Vick home?

Billy: Yeah, she's home. I-I've got errands to run. Come in.

(Door closes)

Victoria: All right. Well, if you're here to try to get me to work on Billy and persuade him to use a different subject besides Phyllis for the "Restless Style" show...

Nick: (Sighs)

Victoria: Then you're kind of wasting your time.

Nick: No matter what I say?

Victoria: Phyllis tried to get him to stop following the hit-and-run story. He's not changing his mind, Nick.

Adam: I know I've been going non--

Chelsea: Oop!

Adam: Nonstop with work.

Chelsea: I know. And that's why I'm totally into you. Off. (Sets cell phone on table)

Adam: (Sighs) Look, I haven't been able to spend as much time with you as I'd like, Chelsea, but I've been--I've been completely up against it.

Chelsea: I know. I get it completely. But... (Sighs) There's something you don't know.

Adam: About?

Chelsea: About how after we decided to try for a baby, I went out and got one of those kits that lets you know the best time to get pregnant. The best time's now.

Adam: Now? Like now? Right now now?

Chelsea: Mm-hmm. Now now, well, and tomorrow. There are always two best days to try, but listen, if you want to put baby-making on hold, by all means--if you want to make a phone call--

Adam: No, no, no, no, no.

Chelsea: Do you want your phone back? Are you sure?

Adam: I think I'm on break. Mm. I'm on break right now.

Chelsea: Okay, I mean, if you just want to stay on your phone all day, I get it. Are you sure?

Adam: No, no, no, no, no. Tonight, I'll take another break and then tomorrow morning.

Chelsea: Mm. Are you sure?

Adam: We can take a--yeah, let's go. Get up there. Come on.

Chelsea: (Giggling)

Phyllis: Oh, uh, Kevin, it's--hey, it's not a good time. Lately, no time is a good time.

Kevin: So I've heard. (Sighs) But I have something for you.

Phyllis: What?

Kevin: A proposition.

Nick: I, of course, don't like what Billy is trying to do to my wife, but I know there is nothing I can do to stop him. So I didn't come here to pick a fight.

Victoria: Why did you come?

Nick: Well, let's start with Mom. Have you heard from her?

Victoria: (Sighs) Yeah. She told me that she's looking for Dad, which is probably going to tank her marriage to Jack.

Nick: If Dad's on another one of his disappearing acts, nobody is more likely to bring him home than Mom.

Victoria: Yeah, well, why do you think he took off, Nick?

Nick: Mom got married. Dad didn't like it, so he went somewhere to think.

Victoria: (Scoffs) Or he's plotting and planning. That's Dad. I am just glad that Mom has his security team and the cops out looking for him just in case he's not okay.

Nick: As much as I hope Dad is strolling on some beach somewhere, I'm really not happy with the mess he's left behind.

Victoria: Oh, all hell is breaking loose, huh?

Nick: Well, it's starting to. Like with Sharon yesterday-- Vick, I really think Sharon burned her prenuptial agreement.

Victoria: What?

Nick: She denied there even was a prenup.

Victoria: (Scoffs) God, that is such bull. Dad would never marry her without one.

Nick: Sharon's humiliated that Dad eloped with her and then bolted. I mean, she could say or do anything right now.

Victoria: She would not give a damn about embarrassing the family or the company.

Nick: And Mom's filed a missing person's report. So far, the police have been laying low, but very soon, everyone is gonna know that Victor Newman is not on some vacation.

Victoria: Oh, Dear. (Sighs) Oh, and the press is gonna be all over this, including the business journals.

Nick: And that means serious ramifications for the company. So I'm asking you, once again, please, will you come back to work at Newman?

Lily: And here are the twins trying to stand on their heads. (Chuckles)

Genevieve: (Chuckles)

Cane: Yeah. They're yoga masters like their mom.

Genevieve: Hmm. Well, it looks like everything is going beautifully with your family.

Lily: Yeah.

Cane: (Clears throat)

Genevieve: How about work?

Cane: Uh... work's good. I got a promotion.

Genevieve: All your hard work has paid off.

Lily: (Chuckles)

Cane: Oh, I wouldn't say that. Um, actually, Ashley left the company, well, for now.

(Cell phone rings)

Cane: Excuse me. Hello? Really? When? No, no, no. Thank you. Thanks for calling.

Lily: What is it?

Cane: That was a waiter at Gloworm I asked to contact me if Claude Shirl got back in contact with the restaurant.

Genevieve: And he did?

Cane: He just made a reservation. He'll be there soon. Let's go. Come on.

Nick: (Sighs) Vick, come on, the last time I asked you to come back, it was under different circumstances. If Dad stays away, you'll be a stabilizing force at Newman.

Victoria: (Sighs)

Nick: People need to see that you and I are still there for this company.

Victoria: I know, okay? I appreciate where you're coming from and that you're thinking ahead.

Nick: So you'll come back?

Victoria: (Sighs) Look, Nick, Dad really hasn't been gone that long. I'm not gonna turn my whole life around just because he may have decided to take a quick break. (Sighs)

Kevin: I mean, look, you--you know style. You know what catches the eye, what sells.

Phyllis: Yeah, so does your wife.

Kevin: Right, she does, and she's totally on board with my coming to you. Phyllis, this would be exactly like being editor in chief of the magazine.

Phyllis: It's not the same. Hardly.

Kevin: What? (Scoffs) You would be helping with overseeing the site, with the design aspects, and, of course, I would hope that you would start your own Tagngrab account.

Phyllis: Who wants to go online and see that?

Kevin: (Scoffs) Are you kidding? Your fans. Your fans. They're want to see what you're--what you're wearing, what you're reading, everything that you're into. And, of course, when they see how fun and useful the site is based on how you're using it, it would make them want to start their own accounts, too.

Phyllis: My fans?

Kevin: (Sighs)

Phyllis: Wow. I mean, it--its fun. It is fun. I mean, it's a--it's a good way to sell merchandise.

Kevin: Right. You know, making a recommendation from your closet or sitting on your couch and talking about a hobby or a gadget.

Phyllis: Yeah, yeah. It's a lot better than, you know, trying to hit someone with, like, heavy advertising. Hmm.

Kevin: So what do you say you start tagging and help us get rolling?

Phyllis: You know, Kevin, I-I... (Sighs) I'm flattered, really, but a-any other time, I-I'd say, "Yeah, sure," but now I just don't know if I want people to follow my every move online, you know what I mean? I-I appreciate the offer. (Zipping tablet case closed) Just... I-I-I don't think I can do this.

Kevin: Look, Phyllis, I think this could be just the thing that can help soften your... vile reputation.

Phyllis: It's not vile.

Kevin: I mean, you could be posting-- you could be posting pictures of, like, puppies and unicorns and stuff, you know?

Phyllis: Maybe a unicorn that was purchased through a link from your favorite store, right?

Kevin: Wow. It's like you're reading my mind.

Phyllis: Mm.

Kevin: Okay, look, yes, your involvement would be so, so great for this site, but I think it would be good for you, too, and it would give you something else to focus on.

Phyllis: I don't-- I don't know. I'm not sure.

Kevin: I-I think you know. I think you're sure. But I'm gonna give you some time, and I'm gonna check back in with you. But I think you're sure.

Lily: I really hope that he shows this time.

Genevieve: Yeah, I can't wait to get a look at him.

Man: I have a reservation under Claude Shirl.

Genevieve: Stop right there.

Cane: So who the hell are you?

Genevieve: Why are you harassing my family?

Lily: Uh, you know, maybe we should do this someplace else, okay?

Man: I'm not going anywhere with you people.

Cane: What game are you playing, Claude?

Man: Claude Shirl isn't my real name.

Cane: Then who the hell are you?

Clayton: Clayton Hamilton, actor. Perhaps you've heard of me?

Cane: (Sighs)

Clayton: Anyway, I got this gig through the Genoa City Repertory Theatre.

Lily: You've gotta be kidding me.

Clayton: It's true. You can call them and check out my story. I got 50 bucks to make a reservation using the name Claude Shirl and come here to eat. That's all I know. So, uh... I'm gonna go have lunch now, okay?

Cane: (Sighs)

Genevieve: Wow. (Inhales sharply) He did it again. He got us to run all the way over here just to be...

Cane: Played?

Chelsea: Uh, what's going on?

Chloe: Oh. Are we interrupting something? (Giggles)

Adam: Maybe. Let's get to the point.

Chloe: Hmm.

Kevin: I approached Phyllis Newman about working with us. She's well-known, she's ambitious, and she knows how to promote.

Adam: Okay. I thought we were gonna run it by each other if we were ever gonna make some big moves.

Kevin: That's what we're doing.

Chloe: Don't you think it's a good idea?

Adam: Yeah, actually, I do. Um, I don't like Phyllis, but she's a go-getter, so... what did she say?

Kevin: I'm giving her some time to think about it.

Chelsea: Is Phyllis really worth the trouble?

Adam: She will be if she helps put our site on the map, which I think she could do. I'm not worried. We can handle her.

Lauren: At least Phyllis didn't give Kevin a firm "No."

Michael: No, when Kevin swung by here earlier to pick up Chloe, he was all hopeful that Phyllis would take the job.

Lauren: Mm-hmm. And it's good. It's good for Phyllis to have something important to do, you know, and not obsess about this criminal case.

Michael: Yeah, that's one good deed done today. We are the good-deed doers.

Lauren: Aren't we?

Michael: Mm-hmm.

Lauren: So what are you doing now? Do you have a meeting to go to?

Michael: I've got about an hour.

Lauren: Really? You know, Fen is at a friend's. Why don't you come home with me? (Chuckles)

Michael: That sounds tempting.

Lauren: Yeah? Well, then give in, because we really have to take advantage of these little lulls before things blow up again. (Chuckles)

Victoria: (Knocking on door) (Pounding on door) Sharon! Sharon, open up. (Knocking on door) (Pounding on door)

Phyllis: I'm sorry Victoria turned you down, but honestly, I don't expect any help in any way from Billy or Victoria.

Nick: You seem like you're in a better place than when I left.

Phyllis: I am. I had visitors.

Nick: Really? Who?

Phyllis: Yeah. Leslie. She agreed to take my case.

Nick: That's great.

Phyllis: Yep.

Nick: Who else?

Phyllis: Kevin. He offered me a job with his and Chloe's web site.

Nick: What'd you tell him?

Phyllis: Uh, that I'd consider it.

Nick: I think you should take it.

Phyllis: You do?

Nick: Might be a good way to start over.

Phyllis: What about us? Can we start over?

Phyllis: I'm gonna take that as a "Yes."

Billy: Tim Reid, hi. How you doing? What's the real story to Phyllis Newman, huh? Do you want to tell us why you're being deposed by the district attorney?

Tim: Uh, uh...

Billy: Come on. Oh, oh, oh. Where you running to, man? What--what are your secrets? Why are you running? There's no reason to run. Wait, wait, don't you want to talk to me? Come on, clear the air. No? Tim. Tell me you got that.

Man: I got it.

Billy: (Snaps fingers) Good. Now we got something to work with. Good work, buddy. Thank you, Tim.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Victoria: Did you burn the prenup that you sign right before the wedding?

Lily: So he was an actor?

Cane: Someone is messing with us, and I'm gonna find out who it is.

Tucker: I might have a project for you after all.

Genevieve: That's terrific.
