(Cell phone rings)
Nick: Can I get another one, bud?
Phyllis: Nick, please, please call me back when you get this, please. (Sighs)
Summer: Where's Dad?
Phyllis: I don't know.
Summer: Darn, I loaned him my DVD and I need it back.
Phyllis: Yeah, well, he's out.
Summer: You know when he's gonna be back?
Phyllis: No, no, I don’t.
Summer: I'm meeting Stella and I wanted to show her the movie. I'll try and call him.
Phyllis: Well, he's not answering his phone.
Summer: What are you doing here, anyway? I thought you were meeting Aunt Avery to go over your case.
Phyllis: Avery, uh, she has other things that she needs to take care of.
Summer: (Scoffs) I'm calling her. If--if she's gonna be your lawyer, she needs to pull it together.
Phyllis: No, no, she's not. She's not.
Summer: (Scoffs) What?
Phyllis: Avery is not my lawyer anymore.
Michael: Ms. Clark will be handling Paul Williams' case, so make sure she has access to anything relevant. Mm-hmm. Yeah, thanks, all right.
Lauren: Hi.
Michael: Oh, hey. Mm!
Lauren: How you doin'?
Michael: Mwah! Here.
Lauren: So Avery is handling Paul’s case?
Michael: (Sighs) Christine is already on her way back to Washington, D.C.
Lauren: Does that have anything to do with Paul changing his plea?
Michael: Not surprisingly, Christine didn't go into specifics. It seems she needed a little distance from things.
Lauren: Mm. Now does Avery representing Paul and Phyllis-- is that a conflict?
Michael: (Chuckles) Golly, no. Phyllis fired her.
Lauren: Ah. It's like musical lawyers around here.
Michael: Yeah, you know, I just sit in the district attorney's chair and watch the crazy go by.
Lauren: (Laughs) I really hope that, um, Avery lives up to her reputation of representing innocent people.
Michael: Well, that's tough to do when your client is determined to plead guilty.
Lauren: He's gonna wait on that until we find out what happens with Eden.
Michael: Yeah, well, unfortunately, that didn't go very well.
Lauren: You're kidding.
Michael: Eden remembers some of what happened at Ricky’s place, but not him holding a knife on her or admitting to killing anyone.
Lauren: I mean, this is crazy. Paul acted in self-defense. We have to do something to help him.
Michael: If he insists on pleading guilty, there's not much I can do.
Lauren: (Sighs) Well, there's something I can do.
Avery: Here is Dr. Hoffman's report on Eden’s hypnosis session.
Paul: Chris told me that Eden didn't remember anything that would corroborate my story.
Avery: No, but she was terrified of your son, clearly indicating that he was a threat, and I also have this.
Paul: Statement of Melissa Townsend.
Avery: Signed and notarized. She makes a compelling argument that she believed Ricky killed her roommate, which supports your argument that he had a hand in the death of Craig Hunt. We also have surveillance video of Ricky dumping Daisy's purse and wallet. All of this casts further suspicion on him.
Paul: Do you think that's enough to convince a jury that I'm not guilty?
Avery: It's enough to get the charges against you reduced. Now I've already put in a request for a hearing, but before I go in front of a judge, I need to know one thing.
Paul: What?
Avery: That you're willing to forget about pleading guilty.
(Books thump on table)
Daniel: I'm sorry. I, uh, shouldn't have. (Chuckles)
Heather: No. No, it was me. I, uh, I don't know what I was thinking.
Daniel: (Sighs) Yeah, this is crazy.
Heather: It's a really bad idea. I mean--
Daniel: No, I-I got it. I mean, my mom and you-- it's a bad idea.
Heather: Yeah.
Daniel: I should go.
Heather: Yeah, I should--
Daniel: You want to go get some food?
Heather: Yeah, sure.
Daniel: Okay.
Heather: Okay.
Daniel: Let's go.
Jack: The honeymoon suite, with the balcony overlooking the ocean. And you've set up the horseback ride at sunrise? Yeah, and dinner on the shore, candlelit? Right, and there will be flowers in the room when we get there? I know that. I want everything to be perfect. Set it up. Go.
Sarge: Honeymoon, huh?
Jack: Yep. We leave tomorrow. Don't worry, I will keep up with all my workouts.
Sarge: (Scoffs) If you don't, you will be sorry. So where you headed?
Jack: The Seychelles.
Sarge: The Seychelles. Impressive. So Nikki upstairs packing?
Jack: No, she met Katherine for breakfast this morning. Actually, I expected her back by now.
Sarge: Well, you're planning this amazing trip. You'd think she'd be home, getting ready to go.
Jack: Yeah, you would think that, if I'd told her about it.
Sarge: She doesn't know?
Jack: It's a surprise.
Nikki: I asked you a question, Sharon. What are you burning?
Sharon: Uh, well, I was just stoking the fire.
Nikki: (Sighs) You are lying.
Sharon: You get out of my house, Nikki.
Nikki: This is Victor's house.
Sharon: I'm his wife. What's his is mine.
Nikki: I'm certain he made sure that wasn't the case before he married you.
Sharon: What goes on between Victor and me is our business.
Nikki: Well, nothing is going on between the two of you because he left you on your wedding night.
Sharon: Get out!
Nikki: No, not until I find out what you're up to. Oh, what's this? Victor's briefcase.
Nikki: What did you take out of here? What is in that fireplace?
Sharon: Um, I told you, nothing.
Nikki: I am not going to let you destroy any more of his private papers.
Sharon: Give me those.
Nikki: No! I'm not gonna let you hurt a good man like Victor.
Sharon: A good man?
Nikki: Yes.
Sharon: Victor? Is this a joke? Let me show you a text he sent me.
Nikki: You don't need to. I've seen it.
Sharon: He showed it to you?
Nikki: I sent it.
Paul: I said if Eden could back up my story, that I would reconsider pleading guilty.
Avery: She said she was terrified of Ricky.
Paul: But she couldn't confirm that he threatened her life.
Avery: Paul, let me use these things to get you bail. Once you're out, you can help me. You can help me find solid evidence to prove you're innocent.
Paul: I killed my son.
Avery: In self-defense.
Paul: The fact remains, he is still dead.
Avery: Okay, you made a split-second decision. From everything I can see, it was the right decision, and I can prove that in a court of law, but you have to give me the chance.
Paul: I am just trying to do what's right, okay?
Avery: Well, then you fight. Don't change your plea.
Lauren: (Sighs)
Michael: I hope you're not talking about what I think you're talking about.
Lauren: Michael, if I admit that the gun that Paul used to shoot Ricky was mine, and that he took it from me to stop me from hurting daisy, it will prove that he had no intention on killing Ricky.
Michael: You bought that gun illegally, while you were on probation. You come forward, you could do jail time.
Lauren: Yeah, and if I don't, Paul will, and for a lot longer than me.
Michael: Do you think I give a damn about that?
Lauren: I understand that--
Michael: You will not end up in--
Lauren: But you don't understand, he--
Avery: Paul won't be changing his plea. Excuse me.
Lauren: Are you sure?
Avery: Yes, and I've already requested a new bail hearing.
Michael: On what grounds?
Avery: I'm presenting new evidence that Paul’s actions were in no way premeditated.
Michael: Okay, I'll bite. What new evidence?
Avery: I have a psychiatrist's report detailing Eden’s account of what happened the night Ricky was shot, along with a signed statement from Melissa Townsend, who has implicated Ricky in the death of her roommate. I have sent you copies of both statements in e-mail.
Lauren: Oh, that is such great news.
Avery: Mm-hmm.
Michael: Even if the judge buys this, Paul is a flight risk. He's already skipped town once.
Avery: And he came back on his own. Michael, come on. We both know that he didn't kill his son in cold blood.
Michael: I only know what the facts tell me.
Avery: Well, then I will see you at the bail hearing.
Michael: I'm not gonna make this easy on you.
Avery: Maybe you haven't heard--I'm kind of famous for getting innocent people off.
Michael: Then why aren't you still representing your sister?
Lauren: (Sighs)
Avery: You'll have to ask her that, Counselor.
Summer: What do you mean, Aunt Avery isn't your lawyer anymore? Did she quit? You fire her?
Phyllis: No, nope. No, it just, you know, things just didn't work out. That--that's all. They just didn't work out.
Summer: What does Dad think about all this? Is he freaking out?
Phyllis: Yeah, I don't really know what your dad is doing right now.
Summer: He's pissed with you. That's why he's not here, why he's not answering his phone. You did something to make Aunt Avery quit...
Phyllis: (Clears throat)
Summer: And he's mad you... what is it? What'd you do?
Phyllis: No, no, I-I did-- I did--I-I did nothing, okay? Please just let it go.
Summer: You're lying! You did something.
Phyllis: Oh, my God, shut up! Shut up! (Exhales sharply) I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm--I'm really, really sorry that I did--I'm so--
Summer: (Sniffles)
Phyllis: I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
Summer: I forgive you for that.
Phyllis: Here's the-- no, no, no, sit down. I-I'm so sorry. I-I'm--I'm so sorry for yelling at you. I would never do anything to hurt you. You know that, right?
Summer: Yeah. I-I just--I'm so scared. I-I don't want to lose you.
Phyllis: (Voice breaking) Oh, my God, you're not gonna lose me. Don't be scared, okay? You're not gonna lose me. I'm not gonna let that happen, okay? (Normal voice) All right.
Summer: Okay.
Phyllis: I mean, I gotta be here to tell you to clean up your room and to get off the internet, right?
Summer: And that my shorts are too short.
Phyllis: Yeah, I-- oh, I definitely have to tell you that. That's what mom is for.
Summer: I need you, Mom.
Phyllis: I know, I know, and I am here for you. I'm here for you. I'm not going anywhere. Do you understand? I'm not going anywhere, okay?
Summer: Okay.
(Cell phone rings)
Nick: Hello.
Lionel: Sorry to bother you, Sir, but with your father away, I really just wanted to--
Nick: It's all right. Uh, what's up, Lionel?
Lionel: There's a disturbance at the main house.
Nick: What kind of disturbance?
Lionel: Well, Sir, your mother arrived at the ranch earlier to go riding, but then she--
Nick: But she went to Dad's house, and Sharon’s there.
Lionel: One of the guards heard raised voices coming from inside. I was concerned things might get out of control.
Nick: (Exhales slowly)
Lionel: So I thought you should know.
Nick: Yeah, thanks for calling. I'm on my way.
Heather: Paul got a new bail hearing.
Daniel: That's great.
Heather: Hold on. (Sighs) None of this would have happened if it weren't for you.
Daniel: I really wish you'd stop saying that, because I didn't do anything. I just had a little chat with Eden. It wasn't a big deal. (Laughs)
Heather: You're the one who got her to try hypnosis. I'm serious. Dr. Hoffman's report could change everything.
Daniel: I hope it does.
Heather: This is weird, you helping me with my dad even though... you know.
Daniel: You're prosecuting my mom. (Laughing)
Heather: Yeah.
Daniel: Yeah. Have you ever had a Moscow mule?
Heather: Are you kidding?
Daniel: Have you ever had a Moscow mule here?
Heather: Aren't they all the same?
Daniel: No. No, no, no. You see, the Moscow mules here-- they have a little kick to them.
Heather: Hmm.
Daniel: They will pretty much obliterate any problem you have.
Heather: So what are we waiting for?
Daniel: Two mules, coming up.
Nina: You were amazing.
Avery: Well, getting bail was the easy part.
Nina: No thanks to Michael. The way he argued against you, you'd think Paul was Jack the Ripper.
Paul: He was just doing his job.
Nina: Yeah, well, he didn't have to do it so well.
Avery: I would expect nothing less.
Nina: His diligence got Paul’s bail set at half a million dollars.
Paul: Right, might as well be a billion, right?
Nina: I got some money in savings. We can work it out.
Paul: I'm not taking your money.
Nina: Yes, you are.
Paul: No, I'm not.
Michael: He won't have to. Bail's been posted.
Paul: By whom?
Lauren: Me.
Paul: Lauren, I can't let you do this.
Lauren: I had one of my employees post the bail anonymously.
Paul: I don't know what to say.
Lauren: You say "Thank you," and go celebrate.
Paul: Thank you.
Nina: Good. Let's go celebrate.
Lauren: (Sighs)
Sharon: You sent the text? That means you must have Victor's phone.
Nikki: Well, you might have found it yourself, if you had bothered to look for him.
Sharon: God, you are pathetic. Trying to make me believe that my husband dumped me-- boy, you are desperate to hang on to him.
Nikki: I care about him, Sharon, which is a lot more than I can say about you. He was missing, oh, golly, a-a full hour before you went into your usual "Oh, please take care of me" routine on Tucker.
Sharon: Poor Jack. He has really deluded himself into thinking you really loved him.
Nikki: Jack understands my concern for Victor.
Sharon: You are obsessed with him!
Nikki: Here is the situation, Sharon-- your husband went out for a ride and never came back, but you don't seem to be concerned about that at all. Why is that? Maybe because you got rid of him?
Sharon: Now you're just being delusional.
Nikki: Oh, well, I didn't imagine you burning things in the fireplace when I walked in, to cover up what?
Sharon: Give me those.
Nikki: No, I'm not giving you anything...
Sharon: Give them to me, Nikki! Give them to me!
Nikki: Until I find out what you're hiding!
Sharon: Nothing, I told you!
Nikki: Get away from me!
Sharon: Give me that!
Nick: Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Enough.
Nikki: Stop! They're not yours.
Nick: Hey, hey, hey, stop.
Sharon: Nick, let go of me!
Nick: Okay, okay, what the hell is going on in here?
Sharon: Ask your mother. She's the one that barged into my house and then attacked me!
Nikki: I came to let you know that I found Victor's phone.
Sharon: Oh, but not before you sent me a text from it saying that my marriage was over!
Nick: What?
Nikki: Look at your father's briefcase. She--she fiddled with the lock. When I came in, she was burning papers, burning something that came right out of here.
Sharon: I told you, what goes on in my house is my business.
Nikki: Well, not when it hurts Victor. Then it's my business, too.
Sharon: Victor is my husband, Nikki, mine, so why don't you go back home to your own?
Nikki: You tramp!
Sharon: (Gasps) Oh!
Nick: No, no, no, no, no, no.
Nikki: You are a--
Nick: Mom, you've already been thrown in jail once for fighting with Sharon. Do you want to go back?
Nikki: I don't care. I-if it would let me find Victor, I would, I would go. (Sighs) (cries)
Sarge: Nine, ten, and sit. All right.
Jack: (Grunts)
Sarge: There we go.
Jack: Let me take a few steps, okay?
Sarge: No, not yet.
Jack: Look, I'm ready.
Sarge: You are ready when I say you are.
Jack: Did you not hear me clearly? Nikki and I leave for our honeymoon tomorrow.
Sarge: She doesn't even know about the trip. How do you know she's even gonna say yes?
Jack: What bride says no to a honeymoon?
Sarge: I don't know. Booking this whole trip before you even told her-- it's presumptuous, Jack, even for you.
Jack: Augie, Augie, I'm gonna have to teach you a thing or two about romance.
Sarge: Ha! Don't make me laugh. Now I could give you a few pointers, if you would like.
Jack: No, no, thanks, no, thanks.
Sarge: It's gonna be just you and Nikki for two weeks. You know, it's kind of hard to keep a lady's attention for that long.
Jack: Oh, don't worry, Nikki will have nothing on her mind but me.
Nick: You sent Sharon a text from Dad's phone, telling her her marriage is over?
Nikki: Not one of my finer moments. Let's move on.
Nick: Where'd you even get his phone?
Nikki: Buck found it on one of the south trails, which really makes me worry that something is wrong.
Nick: Well, you sending fake texts from it, Mom, is not helping anything.
Nikki: Yes, I know, I know. Victoria told me the same thing. I-I came to the house to tell Sharon the truth. That's the thanks I get.
Nick: Really?
Nikki: Nicholas, do you think that your father's in trouble?
Nick: (Sighs) I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if Dad ditched the phone to make us all think that... hold on a second.
Nikki: What?
Nick: This is a call from Mitsukoshi. This is Dad's private business phone. He has a ton of confidential contacts and--and texts on here. He would never just leave this laying around.
Nikki: So something is wrong.
Nick: Well, maybe he dropped it before he realized. I...
Nikki: Look, I know that your father has done this kind of thing before, but this time seems different, not right.
Nick: Really? He took off on the day you married Jack, Mom. Seems kind of right to me.
Nikki: Nicholas, I'm worried.
Nick: All right, why don't you just take it to the police, see what they can tell you? I'll talk to Sharon.
Nikki: She's hiding something. Maybe you can get it out of her.
Nick: I'll call you later.
Nikki: All right.
Sharon: You gonna start harassing me with a million questions, too?
Nick: Just one. What were you burning in here?
Heather: What the heck is that?
Daniel: Oh, uh, yeah, and then there's this little gem, which, uh...
Heather: (Laughs)
Daniel: I don't even really remember getting.
Heather: Oh, you were a little drunk, huh?
Daniel: Mm... yeah. (Laughs)
Heather: That's how I would have to be if I ever got a tattoo.
Daniel: (Laughs) Are you scared of needles?
Heather: Yep. Needles, snakes, and hubris.
Daniel: Okay, well, I get needles, I get snakes.
Heather: Mm-hmm.
Daniel: Hubris?
Heather: (Sighs) So I have this Odysseus complex, not to be confused with an Oedipus complex...
Daniel: Mm.
Heather: Which would be weird and wouldn't work out for us.
Daniel: (Laughs)
Heather: Anyway, Odysseus thought that he could handle anything, and it usually ended in epic failure, just like me.
Daniel: Oh, so you've had a couple of tough breaks, but we all have, huh?
Heather: Yeah. What are you afraid of?
Daniel: Ooh. Um... being a crappy dad.
Heather: Really?
Daniel: Mm-hmm.
Heather: I've seen you with Lucy. You have no worries there.
Daniel: (Chuckles)
Heather: Oh, my God, you got out!
Paul: I did. I did get out... thanks to Avery.
Avery: Well, Dr. Hoffman's report went a long way in convincing the judge to grant bail.
Nina: I am just so grateful heather talked you into taking Paul's case.
Avery: It was the right decision.
Heather: I asked Daniel to order a bottle of champagne.
Paul: You know, if you don't mind, uh, I just don't think it feels right celebrating.
Avery: I will tell Daniel we're just gonna order drinks with dinner.
Heather: Yeah.
Nina: Thanks.
Avery: Hey, uh, change of plans. No champagne. Paul's not in the mood.
Daniel: Oh. Okay, cool, um... yeah, so you're Paul’s lawyer now. How's that gonna work with you representing Mom?
Avery: Uh, I'm not representing your mom anymore. I thought she would have told you.
Daniel: No. No, she didn’t. What'd she do this time?
Avery: I think you should hear it from her.
Daniel: (Sighs)
Phyllis: Yeah, please, Baby, please, can you just call me, please, Nick?
Michael: Hey. You okay?
Phyllis: Am I okay? Oh, I'm fantastic.
Michael: I've heard you are without an attorney.
Phyllis: Are we going back in time? Because last I knew, I was going to trial and you were the district attorney.
Michael: I was asking you as a concerned friend.
Phyllis: Friend? That's rich.
Jack: (Grunting)
Sarge: Excellent workout. Well done.
Jack: Thank you, Sarge.
Sarge: I gotta run. All right. Hey, perfect timing.
Nikki: Oh, hi.
Sarge: We just finished.
Nikki: Oh.
Sarge: See you in two weeks.
Jack: Thanks, Augie.
Sarge: Bye.
Nikki: Bye. Oh, are you going on a business trip?
Jack: No. Oh, I didn't want to do it this way.
Nikki: What, do what?
Jack: Tell you about the surprise I have planned for you.
Nikki: Oh, Jack, you've already given me so much.
Jack: Actually, it's for both of us.
Nikki: Ooh, I like the sound of that.
Jack: Then you're gonna love what I have set up for us. You and I... are going to the Seychelles on a honeymoon... tomorrow.
Nikki: Tomorrow?
Jack: Yeah. I arranged everything-- very romantic, very secluded, and far, far away from everything and everyone here.
Nikki: Jack.
Jack: Mm.
Nikki: I can't go.
Jack: What do you mean, you can't go?
Nikki: Well, I just came from the ranch, and... I can't shake this feeling that something's not right with Victor. I mean, the way his horse came home alone--
Jack: Honey, the Black Knight has done this disappearing act a dozen times already.
Nikki: We found his phone on one of the trails. I just dropped it off at the police station.
Jack: Good, then they can be in charge of this. You can forget about him.
Nikki: You know I can't do that. Before we got married, you said that you understood that I would always be tied to Victor.
Jack: And you and I agreed we would not let Victor come between us.
Nikki: But he might be in real trouble, Jack.
Jack: All the more reason for the police to handle this.
Nikki: Well, I don't know, I had to practically beg them to put out an A.P.B. for him.
Jack: Honey, he has his own security force. They can find him, or Sharon. Sharon is his wife now.
Nikki: Sharon doesn't give a damn about him.
Jack: No one does.
Nikki: Jack, please, you have to understand. I have to find him.
Jack: Where are you gonna look? You have some idea where he is?
Nikki: No.
Jack: So you're gonna turn down our honeymoon to go searching God knows where for a man who hurt you, who emotionally abandoned you more times than I can count? Nikk, I cannot start our life together this way.
Nikki: Well, I can't start it at all until I know that Victor is all right.
Nick: It's still warm.
Sharon: I built a fire. So what?
Nick: It's August.
Sharon: Faith and I were roasting marshmallows. You know how much she likes s'mores.
Nick: The, uh, chocolate locked in here?
Sharon: Um, maybe Victor forgot the combo and he broke into it himself.
Nick: Huh. Avery said she came by to pick up the prenup that you and Dad signed, and she couldn't find it. You have any idea what happened to it?
Heather: Hey. Are you gonna come back to the table?
Daniel: Uh... you didn't tell me that Avery dumped my mom and took Paul’s case.
Heather: I thought you knew.
Daniel: No, I didn’t.
Heather: Hey, I'm sorry.
Daniel: Mm-hmm.
Phyllis: Hey.
Heather: Hey. I'll see you back at the table.
Daniel: Yeah.
Phyllis: What's going on there?
Daniel: We're talking. What?
Phyllis: No, are-- are you guys friends?
Daniel: Yeah, we are f-- it's--it's my life. It's my business. What is--?
Phyllis: Oh, no, no, no, it's my business. Are you into her?
Daniel: (Laughs) Okay, no, thi--this is over.
Phyllis: No, it's not over. You realize that she could put me in prison? You realize that, don't you?
Daniel: You realize she's trying to do her job?
Phyllis: No, she's not trying to do her job. She's trying to do Christine’s job. She's doing Christine’s dirty work.
Daniel: Just let it go.
Phyllis: No, I'm not letting it go. I'm not letting it go. Out of all the women in Genoa City, you pick the one woman to hang out with that could do more damage to me than Daisy.
Daniel: You're seriously doing this? You're making it all about you again?
Phyllis: It's not all about--
Daniel: It is. It is all about you right now.
Phyllis: It's about our entire family, Daniel. It's about our entire family. Do you get this? Do you not get this at all?
Avery: Daniel, we're-- excuse me. We're ready to order.
Phyllis: (Scoffs)
Avery: Don't do that. Don't take your anger out on him, and do yourself a favor and try not to make a public spectacle of yourself.
Phyllis: Okay, no. No, no. You don't get to talk to me like this. You don't tell me how to deal with my son, all right? And I don't take your advice. You're not my lawyer anymore. You got it?
Avery: You need my advice. That's why you're so pissed.
Phyllis: No, you left me high and dry. That's why I'm pissed.
Avery: Phyllis, do you think I want to see you go to jail?
Phyllis: Yeah, I actually-- I do, Avery. I do. I do, because you bailed on me, so I really do.
Avery: When are you gonna stop blaming everyone else for your mistakes?
Phyllis: Oh, God.
Avery: No, you listen to me. You rented that car all those years ago. You covered it up and you lied about it, and you gave blackmail money to Tim Reid, and the rest of us, all we've tried to do is help you-- me, Nick, Daniel, even Michael, and you keep lying to us. You keep pushing us away. You do whatever you want to do, right? And--and you don't think about any of us. I mean, congratulations, Phyllis. If you were trying to trash your life, you've succeeded.
Phyllis: Let me tell you something, Sis, I am not trying to trash my life. This is something you could never understand. I am trying to protect my family, and if you don't get that, you go to hell.
Heather: Uh, I'm gonna take off. I'm--I'm kind of tired.
Lauren: Mm.
Heather: But, uh, we'll talk soon, okay?
Paul: Sure.
Heather: Hey, thanks for your help again with Eden.
Daniel: Excuse me. Hey, Heather, Heather. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, hey. Is this about my mom?
Heather: Look, whatever was happening between us-- it can't happen.
Daniel: Why not?
Heather: You know why. Your mom's accused of trying to kill my dad. I'm A.D.A. It's just weird and messed up and wrong. We both need to stand by our parents.
Daniel: Yeah, we can both do that and we--
Heather: No, we can’t.
Daniel: Hey.
Paul: Hey. Thanks again. If it weren't for you, I--
Lauren: Yeah, you wouldn't be in this mess.
Paul: That's not true.
Lauren: Michael knows about the gun. I told him, and he told me not to say anything to anybody.
Paul: He's right.
Lauren: But I can't sit back and do nothing when I could help you.
Paul: You have helped me.
Lauren: But if you go to prison...
Paul: You've gotta trust Michael. Okay?
Nina: Hello.
Michael: (Clears throat) (Exhales sharply) Rough day at the office?
Avery: Nothing I can't handle.
Michael: What about Phyllis?
Avery: It's no longer my problem.
Phyllis: "Mom, spending the night with Stella. Summer." This... fine. No new messages.
Sharon: Like I told Avery, I don't know anything about a prenup Victor had drawn up. I never saw it. I never signed it.
Nick: And if I ask Faith if you were roasting marshmallows, she'll back you up?
Sharon: Would you do that to her?
Nick: Would you?
Sharon: I was really angry when I got that text Nikki sent saying that my marriage was over. I thought it was from Victor, so I burned... some letters that he sent me when he was in prison.
Nick: You know, Dad's gonna be back, and if you're lying, you really are playing with fire.
Jack: Nikk... don't go.
Nikki: I love you. I want us to be together, and when I come back, I will spend the rest of my life making you happy. What do you want from me?
